G15 is a no-go
Pros: 1)works if you don't have an awesome gaming keyboard.
2)Uses [scroll lock] as it's hotkey (push twice). Why is that a pro? Nothing else uses scroll lock unless you bound it to a compiz function :P
3)You can change the binding if you wish
Cons: 1)the converse of that. G15 (version 1 w/ LCD & 18 macros) doesn't interact with it's software. It uses it's own keyboard driver instead of acting as a USB hub.
2)Blurry due to VGA. Monitor recently tested on: Acer x223w
3)May just be due to age, but on the G15 it requires pushing scroll lock faster than a nintendo turbo controller pushes it's auto button.
Other Thoughts: My goal was to switch from windows/linux gaming tower to my linux server. While it does function, it is not what I hoped for. I no longer use it after upgrading my keyboard a while back. Instead, I use the monitor and/or a VNC client tunneled through SSH using putty.

meh....
Pros: Nice small unit. I've owned similar IOGear KVMs, but those had the little button for switching. Never had any issues with those KVMs.
Cons: On my work laptop (Dell Lattitude, win XP), the keyboard doesn't work after windows is loaded. It works fine in BIOS and Grub, but when Windows loads, no keyboard love. Windows device manager shows 2 unknown human interface devices. Too bad IOGear doesn't supply any drivers i can update for those 2 unknown devices.
Other Thoughts: Seems like you have a better chance of getting help from their customer support if you post a bad review on new egg, then you do if you submit an email to their support site.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and sorry about your experience. The KVM should not do what you have described, you can try to connect the USB keyboard and mouse directly to the laptop to let it load the drivers first, then shut down the computer to run your setup through the KVM again, this helps on some cases. If that doesn’t work for you, you might have a bad unit. Since this unit is backed by IOGEAR’s 3 year warranty, please feel free to contact our tech support at 1(866)946-4327 and we would be glad to help you process an RMA. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

Linux and Windows usage
Pros: I use this to switch between Linux (CentOS 5) and a Windows machine which dual boots Win2000 and WinXP. It seems to work fine, now that I understand why it didn't work fine at first. See "other thoughts" below for detail. Great price. The hotkey switching is nice. It is double-tap Scroll-lock by default, but can be changed to double-tap CTRL.
Cons: Not sure if this is a con, but when you switch away from Linux, the system logs that the mouse has disconnected, and when you switch back to Linux, the system logs that the mouse has been reconnected. Put simply, when switching away from a computer (regardless of OS), it is just like pulling the USB mouse wire out. So this explains why some users have noted mouse redetection issues. For me, it works fine in this regard. My Linux and Win2000/WinXP all continue without a hitch, and the Windows OSes never say anything about mouse redetection for me. So all workings appear to be done transparently.
Other Thoughts: The monitor connection was the problem for me. My screen would blank out, or flicker, a few times an hour, for a duration of a second or two each time. I suspected it was a refresh/timing issue that this KVM just couldn't handle, so I had a look at the timings in Linux and in Windows. It was then that I noticed a discrepancy between the two. Even though both were running at 1680x1050@60Hz, the horizontal offset between the two was different. Turns out my monitor timing/video mode definition in Linux (xorg.conf) had problematic horizontal position settings. In 2 years of use with an older IOGEAR PS/2 KVM, the blanking / flickering problem never manifested, but with this new USB KVM, it was apparently enough to cause a problem. I fixed it by redoing the timing line in Linux to match what Windows had, and the blanking/flickering seems to have disappeared. So I'm happy.

Awesomeness
Pros: This thing is fantastic. You swap machines by tapping scroll lock. Easy set up, and it supports audio! Its the size of a deck of playing cards and since its swappable with a key you don't need it on your desk.
Cons: The cords are part of the device so you can't get longer ones, but they are 6' so its pretty respectable.

Pros: I like the ability to switch computers with the press of keys
Cons: Audio is mono and low. Had this working for over a year and bought the new Logitech G110. Tried connecting the keyboard thru the keyboard and it caused a hardware failure. Went to restart and windows 7 deleted my partition. So I had to reinstall windows.
Other Thoughts: Great design if you have a regular keyboard and a regular mouse and a regular monitor and are deaf in one ear.

Returning after 2 years - contd.
Pros: As said in my previous comment.
Cons: As said in my previous comment.
Other Thoughts: I am reporting after receiving the replacement. The replacement was a debacle. This unit is very unresponsive. At least the previous unit worked as long as it did. This unit does not respond to keys on the same key board I used with the one I sent for replacement. The keys, when typed, do not stop. Sometimes the keys don't respond at all. The num-lock, caps-lock and scroll lock on my keyboard would all light up suddenly; then suddenly they would go away, then they light up again. This went on indefinitely. I am going to be very cautious now before buying IOGEAR equipment in this category. If I do, it will be only if there is a 80% good review. My 35$ is hard earned. It is now sitting idle in my drawer.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and sorry about the replacement unit is bad. Since this unit is backed by IOGEAR's 3 year warranty, please contact our tech support at 1(866946-4327 and we would be gald to process an RMA for you. As long as it's within 3 year warranty, we would be glad to exachange it making sure you have a good unit. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

Before Using on Wireless
Pros: Great monitor quality
Cons: DOES NOT WORK with Logitech LX 710 Wireless Keyboard, the keyboard works fine on the display currently showing, but WILL NOT switch between displays, I was on the phone with IOGEAR tech support for 30 minutes before they admitted that this unit does not support wireless devices, tho it does not say anywhere on the packaging recommendations that wired devices are preferred, it simply ways "USB Mouse and Keyboard" the man on the phone was very rude and kept interrupting me and told me he was transferring me to sales for a refund, my call was instantly dropped.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and sorry about your experience. Please make sure the wireless receiver is connected to the keyboard port because only the USB console keyboard allows the use of hotkeys. The default hotkey sequence is [Scroll Lock][Scroll][Lock] and the alternative hotkey is [Ctrl][Ctrl], please do try both making sure the hotkey sequence didn't get changed by accident. If none of those work, you might have a bad unit. Since this unit is backed by IOGEAR's 3 year warranty, please feel free to give our tech support a call at 1(866)946-4327 and we would be glad to assist you. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

Boo Hiss
Pros: Compact unit, includes cables.
Cons: Doesn't work reliably. After rebooting my PC, unit goes into mode where it comes up for about 3 seconds, and then the mouse and keyboard lights go out. Tried several different keyboards, including a wireless one which shouldn't draw much power. All displayed the same problem. Can't do the special "reset" key combination, because the keyboard doesn't come on for long enough.
Other Thoughts: Stay away from "keyboard only" switching - get one with buttons.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and sorry about your experience. We want to understand your case and be able to assist you on getting it work on your setup, but the above has limited information, can you please give our tech support a call 7 days a week at 1(866)946-4327 and we would be glad to assist you. Getting replaced after 2 years
Pros: Easy set up. IOGear tech support promised to replace for free since its been less than 3 years. Pretty good warranty time to replace product. But why would they give 3 years ? Is that the confidence they have on their product?
Cons: Stopped working after 2 years.
Other Thoughts: This item worked very well; was very happy. I used it on Ubuntu + work laptop win xp sp2 as extended desktop. This set up worked for 2 years until yday. After 20 minute session with a very helpful [no sarcasm] tech support rep from IOGear, I have been given instructions to send details of purchase. I will do it and report back here; may be increase the rating.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and sorry to hear that the KVM stopped working. The reasons we offer 3 year warranty are because we are confident of our products and also to ensure our customers can be happy using them for a long period of time. We are glad to assist you on the proof of purchase to process the RMA. Since this unit is backed by IOGEAR’s 3 year warranty, if you have any concern please feel free to contact our tech support 7 days a week at 1(866)946-4327 and we would be glad to assist you. Good Buy for 2port USB/D-Sub
Pros: Good quality for an inexpensive KVM w/audio switch No additional software needed to install Works with XP Home & Pro to Vista Home Basic & Premium (unsure of other OS's)
Cons: no mic
Other Thoughts: Bought this in July '09 has been in daily use since then switching multiple times a day fast response between switchings about 2 sec's or less on average occasionally a little longer

Poor quality !!!
Pros: Nice design! Fast response when working.
Cons: This is my second Iogear KVM and they both failed in the same way. After a few week of use the hot-key switching just fails. All attempts to reset the unit don't help. Iogear needs to make a more robust unit, but until then I will not by there products again! Wail a 3 year rma is nice, I would rather have a better product.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and sorry about your experience. Sorry that we disappoint you twice, but we believe this GCS632U unit that you have might be defective. works great (4 years)
Pros: I'm very happy with the product especially given it's price. Basic, easy to setup, relatively reliable.
Cons: it doesn't appear that you can program your own hot switch keys and occasionally needs to be unplugged from the keyboard (and much less often from both computers).
Other Thoughts: The unplugging issue has become much less common with age. i used to have to unplug everything from the unit about once a month. Now i have to unplug the keyboard about 2-3 times a year.

Great Product
Pros: I've only had this item for one day, but yet, it seems to be perfect. My latter was a 2 port by Air Link, which was great, I wore out using it so much. I decided to buy this one and so far I am greatly satisfied. Upon receiving item I installed it and once my computer booted it recognized it right then. Works like a charm on my computer. No complaints what so ever. It only takes a sec to pick up my keyboard and mouse and by the time the screen comes on, I'm using windows 7, its ready. I have nothing but good things to say about this item so far. We will see how it goes for the next few days.
Cons: NONE!

works great, BUT you must have the right keyboard
Pros: Works exactly as promised once you get it working.
Cons: This KVM can only be triggered via keyboard, there are no buttons on the actual device.
This isn't a problem as long as your USB keyboard has a Scroll Lock key or a numeric keypad. (You use the former to switch between the two machines; you use the latter to change the toggle key from Scroll lock to Ctrl).
Since I don't have either, I had to get ahold of a different keyboard with a numeric keypad to change the toggle key. Once I did that, everything worked great.

A real pain
Pros: Very good hot key switching/fast switching
Cons: This unit has been a problem since the day I received it. It would not activate following the directions that came with the device. After customer service sent me different set up directions it worked OK for 2 months. Now it's down and out. No matter how I attempted it wouldn't activate. I'll try returning it.

Nicely priced KVM
Pros: Fast switching between my tower and laptop. My setup is VGA monitor, USB Illuminated Saitek K/B, USB Gaming Laser Mouse which is Logitech G5.
My tower's vid card only has DVI but I used a converter. You know what? This KVM cleans up the signal so good, I would mistake the graphical output for DVI anyways. Very easy setup and fast.
Supports my Saitek illuminated K/B! In other words, it will light up! Dunno about the other guy who couldn't get his working!!??
Easy to switch computers; tap scroll lock twice. I don't understand why some have trouble. It's not like you have to tap it so ridiculously fast. But then again, I am a virtuoso guitarist (and air guitarist!).
Cons: When I turn off my computers, my Saitek stays lit and I don't like that. However, it's only a minor hassle to go to the back of my setup and unplug the K/B so as to kill the lights.
Other Thoughts: Don't be turned off by all the bad reviews. They probably did not read the short and sweet, easy to read manual. Or, they are just so technically unsavvy. For the relatively low price you pay, what have you got to lose? Buy it now!

2nd one almost a charm...perhaps a 3rd one, maybe not
Pros: Please read my 1st review under the title "might as well be DOA"! Wow, the manufacturer was reading my review and responded---definitely one extra egg! Another egg for the 2nd one that actually works, but unfortunately not all the times! One more egg for carrying a 3-year warranty because these days it is hard to find a manufacturer to stand by and behind its products for that long period of time!
Cons: Very inconsistent and unpredictable behaviors---(1) most of times I do not see my POST messages when booting up the PC's. (2) on one of PC's I would loose the video signal after a few times of flipping back and forth until I disconnect and re-connect my HDMI cable to the video card which supports full 1080p. (3) often after both of the PC's have been turned off for a few hours, the KVM will not work until I unplug and plug either one of the USB connections.
Other Thoughts: On one hand I am very impressed the manufacturer takes time to read our reviews and response---that shows they do care; on the other hand, I could not help but having a feeling that big brothers are watching! Before I go on, let me say one thing to be fair to the product: I only use the KVM so that 2 PC's can share the keyboard and mouse. Since I hook up the 2 PC's to my 40" LCD TV, I connect both PC's to the 2 TV's HDMI ports. I do not connect the VGA ports at all! What puzzle and disappoint me is after a while(flipping back and forth) I will loose the video signal to one of the PC's. The video signal does not even go through the KVM. The rest of the inconsistent and unpredictable behaviors said in the Cons section finally made my decision not to try another one! I must say that I might have been spoiled by their PS/2 KVM that works like a precise clock, its consistent behavior is comparable to the sun that rises in the east and set in the west, day after day!
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and sorry about your experience. From your description above, (1) and (2) have something to do with video cards’ EDID handshaking with HDTV, you might want to see if any other users have any comments on that specific video cards in forums. I have posted a similar reply on EDID problem with the link below, please check see it for details. (3) should not happen; therefore I would suggest processing another RMA making sure you get a good unit. Since we have 3 year warranty with this unit, please feel free to give our 24/7 tech support at 1(866)946-4327 and would be glad to assist you. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

might as well be DOA
Pros: Long cables; light weight; good price; a plug for the sound connector if it is not used
Cons: USB connections are not interchangeable---mouse must go to one USB port; keyboard, the other!
Other Thoughts: I have been using a PS/2 IOGEAR KVM for at least 7-8 years. There have been at least 3 different keyboards(wire and wireless), and many mice(wire and wireless and some with an USB to PS/2 adapter) plugged into the KVM; never once I have had a single problem! This one lasted for seconds; the moment I plugged in a Gyration keyboard, literally light out---the green LCD light indicated to which PC or laptop was connected went off! That was the end of it! The only thing I got was sound. Sometimes I wonder whether the minimal testing such as plugging into it a keyboard and mouse is done in the factory or not! I have exchanged the dead one with a new one and crossing my fingers; I will give another review as soon as I have time to try the 2nd one!
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IGOEAR and thank you for being a loyal customer of ours we really appreciate it. For the console USB ports, yes they are not interchangeable due to the keyboard and mouse emulation technology that we have for the KVM. Thus, hotkeys can only be trigger by keyboard through keyboard port. From your description above, we do agree that you might have a bad unit. But since this product is backed by IOGEAR's 3 year warranty, please feel free to give our 24/7 tech support a call at 1(866)946-4327 and would be glad to replace a good unit for you. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

Be very careful
Pros: It has audio cables for an overall low price.
Cons: This device is very problematic. I have a Wacom Cintiq 21UX which I wanted to switch between a laptop and a main computer. Cintiqs and other tablets have a USB cable for the pen functionality. Now, I do have a USB splitter, so getting that to work along with the mouse and keyboard wasn't the issue. The issue appeared when it turned out the USB ports were actually slower than USB 2.0. If it wasn't bad enough, the device kept losing power to my laptop, which made the screen flicker every 20 seconds. A very annoying issue which ruined everything for me. Lesson learned: If you are going to budget your product, don't budget it to the point where it affects performance. I bought another KVM switch with the same specifications from a different company, and it works great. The new one actually is USB 2.0, and it doesn't have any missing pins.
Other Thoughts: The audio, usb, and vga cables have fairly limited stretching lengths. It forced me to cut the bindings.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and sorry about your experience. Our GCS632U is not a KVM for peripheral sharing, the console USB ports are for USB keyboard and mouse only. If you want to share your Wacom Cintiqs between your computers, I would suggest you to use our GCS1802 which is a desktop version of KVM that has 2 USB 2.0 peripheral sharing ports. Also it has mic support on top of stereo audio. This KVM also has OSD (On-Screen Disply) feature. I believe this KVM would fit your need than a GCS632U. If you have any question, please give our 24/7 tech support a call at 1(866) 946-4327 and we would be glad to assist you. Once again thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

Finally a USB KVM that actually works the way it should
Pros: USB emulation, good cord length, programmable hotkeys for switching, IOGear has solid tech support. Multi-OS capable.
Cons: Video distorted at 60Hz refresh rate. Switching to 75Hz corrects (thankfully my LCD panel can support that refresh).
Other Thoughts: Not all USB KVMs are created equal. I have owned and used a number of KVMs in a corporate IT environment and have never been able to find a solid one that supports USB (this includes uber-expensive Belkin Omniview KVMs). This one switches instantly (no waiting for USB devices to connect/disconnect), simple to set up and has great cable length. I did have to contact IOGear tech support since I accidentally had the keyboard and mouse swapped (a big no-no, since this uses USB emulation), but other than that, it works flawlessly and is very slick.
Compared to the Belkin (Flip, Omniview 2-port) and TrippLite models I've used in the past, this is a breath of fresh air. Do not discount the value of the USB emulation - other KVMs that don't have it can be extremely flakey, particularly if used outside of Windows (like in BIOS, the recovery console, or in DOS).

No DVI adapter
Pros: Has mic connection which most others don't. A plus if not for the major con below.
Cons: There was no DVI adapter for newer LCD monitors which only have DVI output.
Other Thoughts: With a DVI adapter this would be THE KVM to get!
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and thank you for your comment. The reason we do not put a DVI-A to VGA adapter in the package is because they are usually coming in with DVI video cards. The adapter is for connecting to the DVI-I output of the video card so that you have a pure VGA setup. There are some DVI monitors out there only supporting DVI-D (Digital ONLY), which even if you use the adapter to convert from VGA to DVI-A (Analog), it would not work. If your monitor doesn’t support VGA, I would suggest you to purchase our GCS932U which is a DVI-D KVM. If you have any further question, please feel free to contact our 24/7 technical support at 1(866)946-4327, and we would be glad to assist you. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

Read the instructions first!
Pros: Connections are consolidated into one cable per computer. Switch ports by tapping Scroll Lock twice in a row - couldn't be more convenient. Cables are of reasonable length (way more than enough for me, but my towers are stacked). Works perfectly if you read instructions first, which I didn't do :)
Cons: Sound quality is TERRIBLE. USB ports for mouse and keyboard are not "universal" (as in universal serial bus) - the port on the left is for mouse and the one on the right is for the keyboard. They do not work if swapped. There are labels for each port, except the amazing designers (who obviously didn't take a human factors course in college) placed the labels UNDER the switch making them virtually impossible to notice on your own.
Other Thoughts: Not sure if this product works with wireless keyboard/mouse sets. I had no luck a few days ago with it, but I did use the "mouse" port for the receiver unintentionally so maybe it would work if I put the receiver in the "keyboard" port. I'm not sure though, since the mouse is supposed to go in the mouse port and the wireless only uses one port... Fortunately I got a "free" USB keyboard and mouse with my new Dell so they work fine with the switch. "Free" meaning Dell secretly charged me one penny for each item... *sigh*
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and thank you for your comment. About the keyboard and mouse port issue that you have experience, it’s because the keyboard and mouse port have keyboard and mouse emulation respectively, so that if you swap the two USB ports, although you can still use it as a standard keyboard and mouse, you will not have the hotkeys using your keyboard. The benefit of having the keyboard and mouse emulation is to have an error-free boot-up. Furthermore, it would help having instant response right after switching the next port, which for some other KVMs, you would have to wait 3-5 second in order to have the keyboard and mouse function again. About the audio, it acts as a direct pass through, so if you have concern, it might be a bad unit. Please feel free to contact our 24/7 tech support at 1(866) 946-4327 and we would be glad to assist you. Once again thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

just what I needed
Pros: I work on computers so I was tired of having two keyboards and two mouse. My monitor took two inputs but that was a hassle. I have a wireless mouse but the sender has a ps/2 input to my computer. After I put the usb input and the ps/2 from wireless sender, I was glad that I could still use the mouse on the second computer. The scroll-lock transfer button that you use to go from one computer to the other was not as responsive as I would like but I finally got used to how fast I needed to push it . You have to push it twice in rapid succession to get it to work.
Cons: Resposiveness

Works as advertised
Pros: This switch does exactly as promised. I did my research before I purchaes... 2 days of scouring info about KVM switches. Was going to get the Belkin F1DG102U Flip 2 but after all the negative reviews decided to go with this one. I have 0.0 regrets. Just hit Scoll Lock-Scroll Lock, and seemlessly switch between your 2 computers. Breeze to install.
Cons: Just that I appear to have to have my first computer turned on before it will recognize my second one. Oh well. I can immediately turn the first one off, but it has to have the first one on before it recognizes that I started to boot up the second one on my monitor.
Other Thoughts: Also, the key for me buying this one was the USB mouse and keyboard emulation. It really is mandatory for smooth operation between booting the 2 computers.

Awesome product!
Pros: The switch literally could not have been easier to install. I Plugged it in to my two computers, the monitor and it worked immediately. I love the USB ports (I actually use a KVM with a USB hub for use of a Wacom tablet between the two machines). The audio jack is another great feature. Design was convenient and intuitive.
Cons: None, really.

Would not work right
Pros: None
Cons: I should have known there would be potential issues after seeing that there was only one USB output with two usb inputs. At boot, either one or both computer would hang when they reached the point where they checked for usb devices. It did not matter what pc the KVM was set to. When I completely removed one of the machines from the switch, the other would STILL hang. The switch is back in the package, and I am getting an RMA. I guess it is better to pay a few bucks more and get one that provides separate usb plugs for the keyboard and mouse.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR nad sorry about our experience. From your description above, I believe you have a bad unit. Since this KVM has a 3 year warranty, please feel free to give our 24/7 customer support at 1(866) 946-4327, and they will be able to help you to process your RMA. Again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR and hope you have a great experience with a new unit.

Good When It Works
Pros: When this product works, it works well. The switch between PCs is very quick, no lag, works well.
Cons: However, I have had a lot of issues getting my USB Keyboard and Mouse (Dell/Microsoft respectively) to work from time to time. I use a desktop and a laptop on a docking station, and at times when I un-dock it seems like the KVM isn't released; even if I try the keystrokes (scroll lock x2 by default). The same was true for my audio, a little shaky. I emailed IOGEAR and they were very helpful, but ultimately there product just doesn't seem very compatible with certain configurations.

Works Sometimes
Pros: Small and Modern looking. Ability to share speakers.
Cons: Cannot share more than two speakers. Sometimes causes second pc to hang when booting if other pc is already on. This means I have to shut both pc's down and sometimes unplug them completely so the second pc will work.
Other Thoughts: Why is my mouse always powered? I have a wired mouse with a lighted scroll wheel that normally shuts off without the KVM. But now it is lit all the time.
If I did not have my pc's hang like this it would have gotten a better score.

Finicky at best, unreliable at worst
Pros: Easy to install and get running
Cons: Intermittent reliability and then just stopped working
Other Thoughts: Worked very well for about the first month. No issues with video quality or setup. Then all of a sudden it just stopped working (the light for the second PC wouldn't come on). Unplugged everything and plugged it back in and worked fine again for about a week, then suddenly lost video on one of the PCs - although it would switch to the other one and I'd have video. Same fix worked the second time. Third time, left it unplugged for about two weeks (too frustrated to try again). Got a new PC and tried plugging it into the new PC and one of the original two I'd used before. This time, the new PC showed everything but when I tried to switch to the other PC (the one I'd had before), nothing happened and the light on the switch for that PC was on but a lot dimmer than the main one. So not very useful if it will only work with one PC.
Manufacturer Response:It appears that you have a defective unit. Please contact IOGEAR support (phone, chat, or emai), you should be able to get a replacement unit. IOGEAR offers 3 year warranty for this product. Thanks.

Doesn't like new logitech keyboard
Pros: Small device with simple instructions to follow - appears to be of a good build.
Cons: Doesn't work like it should! I continuously have to unplug the device from both of my machines in order for it to recognize my NEW keyboard. iogear tech support suggested reset or replace the device. What's the point of constantly unplugging and plugging things back in? This defeats the purpose of the device itself.
Other Thoughts: I'm going to try to get a replacement and pray that I received a lemon.
Manufacturer Response:The problem you encountered did sound like a bad unit. Whenever there is a new keyboard coming to the market, we have to do a firmware upgrade in order to support all the special keys, but it should at least support this keyboard as a generic keyboard. Thanks.

Works ok, but a bit flawed
Pros: Plug and play. Plugged the box in, booted up the PCs, and switched seemlessly from PC to PC.
Cons: My old Jetway AMD motherboard doesn't recognize the keyboard through the switch during bootup. I have to plug the keyboard directly into the motherboard to access the bios. Minor issue, as I rarely access the Bios. My new Asus P5Q Pro motherboard works fine through the switch.
The switch continuously powers the keyboard and mouse, even when both PCs are off. Very noticable with an illuminated keyboard.
Every time you switch, USB device discovery occurs. Gets a bit annoying when you're regularly switching from PC to PC. Hasn't caused any problems with active applications (in particular, PC games I regularly play on the primary PC. So far they've all handled the loss and re-acquisition of keyboard/mouse seemlessly)
Other Thoughts: Ultimately, I've gone to a virtual freeware kvm solution as my primary means of accessing both PCs, but still use the physical switch as the virtual solution has it's own limitations.

Really pleased
Pros: Pleasantly surprised. This unit works great. low cost. Relatively fast switching. Video looks great and is not degraded, even at highest resolutions. Keyboard hotkeys works great. Same or better performance than the expensive KVM switches that we use with our servers. I have used many KVM's, and at this price I wasn't expecting much here, but I am really pleased with this unit.
Cons: None so far. Some reviewers mention that they have had trouble with early failures. Lets hope not. I will update my review if I have any future trouble.

Pros: Worked Great right out of the box.
Cons: Stopped working after a week.

Good while they work
Pros: Good when they work. iogear will replace gear that breaks under warranty. Nice price.
Cons: I've gone through four of these: two that have broken and been replaced by iogear under warranty, only to fail again. They work for a few months and then the keyboard stops working. Bypassing the kvm works. Replacing the keyboard doesn't fix the problem.
Other Thoughts: I bought my 2nd one before the 1st failed, which fortunately gave me the luxury of waiting several weeks for igear to send a replacement while I used the working unit. I've been perplexed by the failures. The keyboard and mouse work fine w/o the KVM. I've replaced the keyboard once, before the KVM failed again. I wonder if static or similar could be the culprit, but the KVM is the only device that fails. It may not make any difference, but I take care to match the keyboard and mouse to the correct ports on the KVM.

What a great KVM
Pros: This KVM was extremely easy to install and the body takes up less space than my mouse. It has fairly long cables, more than I needed but my computers are close together. So far it has worked perfectly, and I love the scroll lock/toggle function. This one has an audio jack which is a necessary feature for me.
Cons: None noticed so far

Works with Sun!
Pros: Works very well with wired keyboard and HDTV, switching between Mac OS X and OpenSolaris. Very very pleased overall!
Cons: Not gamer- or audiophile-grade connections, which you should keep in mind.
Other Thoughts: I am using this with a TV that only sleeps the monitor on a VGA input (but not the HDMI inputs), so all computers need to connect to the same inputs -- and, they're not PC's, per se. KVM's that play nicely with Mac tend to cost a lot, and KVM's that specifically name Sun compatibility are pretty rare, too. If you're using this to save clutter to a bunch of different media center computers on a TV, keep in mind that it will likely be the weak link in your $20K setup, so set that one up on an HDMI. But, if you want to use your nice TV for a monitor with all your various toys, this is a great choice. I switch OS's a lot, just for experimenting, and I wanted a switch that worked with everything. I highly recommend this one :-)

KVM for XP & Vista Machines
Pros: Well not much to say on the pros section...I guess it kinda works...see below.
Cons: I have an x32 XP machine and a x64 Vista machine hooked up to this KVM. At first it wouldn't work at all on the Vista machine. Talked to their tech support who really had no ideas and weren't very knowledgable about it either. Seemed like they were reading from a troubleshooting prompter and couldn't think on their own. Anyways, after a while I figured out that if I unplugged the KVM from the Vista machine, then unplugged the keyboard & mouse from the KVM, then plugged the USB back into the Vista machine, then plugged the keyboard into the KVM, then the mouse into the KVM...that it would work correctly. That is until you restart one of your machines...then you have to do all this over again...I'm sure you can understand how annoying this is.
Other Thoughts: I called IOGear Tech Support back and let them know of my findings and the fix for the issue. However, I told them that I didn't like having to do that all the time and would like a real fix. So I gave them complete specs on both of my machines, exact step by step directions on how to repeat the problem, then how to fix it. They said that I would need to email them all this in writing, so I did, they said they would send it to one of the engineers to fix it with a firmware update or something. I waited a month and then emailed that person back and asked where it was, he said that the engineer was still working on it but that he couldn't give me any info about the engineer such as name, phone number, or even email address. It's been 4 or 5 months now and still no word from anybody...even though I was promised that the engineer would at least contact me and let me know that he was working on it. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TECH SUPPORT FROM IOGEAR!

Solid KVM with a nag...
Pros: Reliable, long cables, USB. Quick monitor switch time.
Cons: The only real issue I have experienced so far is when my keyboard looses connection with the kvm. In this case I just unplug my keyboard; plug it back in and everything works again. This has happened 3x since my purchase of it in October. Not a big concern because it is easy to correct.
Other Thoughts: Overall happy with item

Excellent product!
Pros: - Well built design. - Integrated cables keep everything well organized. - Easy to install (no software setup required) - Having the audio built in is so nice!
Cons: None at all!
Other Thoughts: All in all, I would say this is a fantastic product. I bought it a little apprehensive at first as I wasn't able to find a KVM out there with super solid reviews. I went on the recommendation of IOGear from a friend and bought this one. What a wonderful product! I have it set up between my windows desktop and my apple laptop. It is fantastic between the two. Tapping the control key twice flips between computers. The full flip from one machine to the next takes about 2 to 5 seconds. Flipping to the apple is usually faster than flipping to windows as the apple re-detects the mouse and keyboard faster. Still, the flip time has never been a problem. I have enjoyed the dual set up. This is a worthwhile product that I would recommend to others!

IOGEAR KVM - Some problems...
Pros: What can I say, it works as advertised, almost(read below). If you are wanting a USB/Monitor/Sound KVM, this is the only one out there for this price. Very easy setup and switch capabilities. Almost instantaneous read by the USB and monitor, havnt really tested the sound too much because my secondary PC/Server doesnt use sound.
Cons: I have a Razer keyboard with the USB port on the front, so when trying to connect it to the KVM the keyboard was cutting in and out. I had to use my powered USB hub to power the key board, then everything worked fine. This is a warning to anyone that has two USB inputs for their keyboard, YOU WILL NEED A POWERED HUB.

Works great... at first.
Pros: Low price.
Cons: Stopped working. No manual switch over-ride. Need to tweak the hot-key for Mac use. Bought this about a year ago and eventually the hot key wouldn't switch between machines. The only way to switch was to shut down one machine completely, and boot up the other (it would recognize if a signal was present on only side or the other). Since there is no manual switch, this rendered the product useless. Hopefully, I can RMA this under warranty if I can find my receipt.
Manufacturer Response:Sorry to hear that you are having difficulty on our GCS632U. For this matter, I strongly recommand you give our 24/7 customer service a call at 1(866)946-4327. Our customer service specialist can definitely assist you on that. Since this device has a 3 year warranty, if the unit is turned bad as described, we would be able to offer you an RMA to exchange a new unit to you. Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and sorry about having problem using the unit.

Where's the buttons?
Pros: I hooked it all up, turned the computers on and actually had to read the instructions to find out how to work the thing. There are no buttons to switch between the two computers. You need to tap the Scroll Lock button twice to switch it. Very nice. This way you can leave all the cables and the switch hidden.
Cons: None found.

KVM
Pros: Good price, works well most of the time
Cons: I've had the keyboard go out from time to time like other reviews. I thought it might be because the USB port doesn't hold the plug tight enough and I was bumping it. Tried different keyboard, etc but they're all a little loose. Ended up taping around the keyboard plug so it's snug against the video plug at the switch. Hasn't gone out for a while, we'll see... Still okay for the most part if you can live with occasional glitches.
Other Thoughts: We have several of these and two of them have had this keyboard problem. When it happens, I've had to unplug both USB plugs at both the computers so no more power goes to the switch in order to reset it - can't just replug the keyboard itself.

Works Great..but
Pros: Works amazingly well for what it's intended for. Switches blazing fast. The switches at my work have a three to four second delay. This thing switches so fast sometimes I have to check to make sure it actually performed the switch.
Cons: There's only two things. I've seen some people mention the keyboard problem. Happens to me as well. Sometimes it just stops working and needs to be unplugged and plugged back in. The most annoying thing about it is the annoying feed back coming through my speakers. I'm not sure if it's something on my computers' end or just the switch. Never had the feed back problem before the switch. It's not a big deal you just have to mute the speakers when not in use.
Other Thoughts: Great buy. Perfect for what it's intended for.

Pros: Amazing, I have known about them for a while but have only used it recently. Quite possible one of the best space saving accessories you could use. Works flawlessly and is easy to use.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I have my HP laptop and my desktop connected to a wireless Logitech keyboard combo, a 22" Samsung LCD and Cyber Acoustics 2.1 speakers. The sound is still awesome.

Nearly flawless...
Pros: Works great, very easy to install and configure. The manual that comes with this product is very intuitive and well written.
I also like that this model switches very fast (under a second in my experience). Highly recommended.
Cons: The only problem I had with this switch is that I experienced the seemingly notorious "keyboard just stops working and needs to be unplugged and plugged back in before it'll work again"... issue. Switching to different keyboard solved the issue, so I suppose it just depends on the keyboard you are using.
If I could change one thing, I'd make it so you could designate any key pattern/combo to initiate the switch, as opposed to only having the two options IOGEAR gives you.
I still give it five stars, but only because it doesn't have this issue with all keyboards, just some, apparently.
Other Thoughts: I bought this when it was on sale for $30 shipped. At the time of this review, it is $34.99 + shipping, and that is still a great deal. I was considering it back when it was over $50 before shipping and even then it'd have been well worth the money.

Great KVM
Pros: Great KVM! Works with every machine I have thrown at it, including Suns!
Cons: This is more of a personal preference, but it will switch the sound when it switches computers. Kind of gets annoying if you are listening to music while working. Solved this with speakers with multiple inputs. Again, this is a personal preference. This is still a great KVM.
Other Thoughts: I have two of these, one with a Logitech wireless keyboard and a Microsoft mouse, the other with a Sun Type 7 keyboard and a Sun mouse. Both work flawlessly.

It works
Pros: The product works great for switching between computers when repairing three or four. It basically does what it was designed to do.
Cons: However, I have noticed that on some computers that it will not accept the VGA port. This is generally when you are trying to image a new computer. Once the image is up, it performs as designed.
Other Thoughts: Its not the top of the line, but it can do what you need it to do.

Works with boot options
Pros: My concern was that with a USB mouse and keyboard I might encounter issues with choosing boot options, but it has worked flawlessly. You can also change the HotKey to swap between systems. Instead of Scroll Lock Scroll Lock I use Control Control.
Cons: None that i have found. I might have issues with older systems but for now, none

Pros: USB and Audio support
Cons: Doesn't come in Black. You can't switch audio independently
Other Thoughts: I use this to switch between my gaming box and my ubuntu box. My old KVM was showing its age and I wanted to upgrade to USB. The picture is great and I see no ghosting on my Dell 24" monitor at 1920x1200. The biggest selling point was that this KVM does audio switching, although I would have liked to be able to switch the audio without switching the display, this is still a great product nonetheless.

Works fine
Pros: I have never used one that switches through the keyboard before, so it was a new experience for me. So far, a good experience. I use 1280 X 1024 and I don't lose any quality with the monitor. One computer is Vista, the other is XP and they installed and worked right out of the box after both machines were rebooted. I tested this KVM on Call of Duty 4. I didn't seem to lose any gaming quality with visual and inputs. I'm running SLI on two 8800GT's, and I had perfect frames on the monitor. I even tried switching between computers while running Call of Duty 4, and they switched moderately fine. I don't recommend doing that, however.
Cons: I have a logitech G15 keyboard and I just wanted to warn everyone that you lose all USB 2.0 hub functionality along with the G15 LCD display if you have one of these. This is expected with all KBM's and it doesn't bother me too much, but it could bother someone else. If you have a fancy keyboard, you may want to consider other options as some of the extra hardware features you get with an upper scale keyboard may not be available when you use a KVM.
Other Thoughts: I did not purchase this KVM through newegg. I got it through my employee discount at my work. However, the unit I am reviewing here is the exact model I picked up. I just wanted to share my review in hopes that it helps someone else out before they consider this. Overall, 5 out of 5 stars for functionality since it works and has no flaws. For my personal use, 4 out of 5 obviously because I lose full functionality with my keyboard and I may consider returning it for something else, since the extra money I paid for these features no longer have any use for me.

Works great
Pros: Works as advertised: hotkey switching is easy, the video resolution is fine ( i use 1680 x 1050). Works with my Saitek lighted keyboard.
Cons: USB ports are labeled on the *bottom* of the switch.
Other Thoughts: When I first hooked up the KVM, it did not work. The instruction manual showed the mouse in the left USB port. Not thinking that should matter, I swapped them none the less, and then everything worked. Looked at the instruction manual again and it indicated that the ports are labeled on the *bottom* of the switch. go figure. Perhaps this will save someone, somewhere, some time.

Works Perfect!
Pros: Works just like it sez in the item description. Very low cost.
Cons: N/A
Other Thoughts: I don't like this thing because the cabling comes out of 2 sides and it's difficult to mount any where. I just ordered another and I'll just keep this for a spare. I didn't list this as a con because had I actually read the description before buying I would have bought some other model. I just ordered a "IOGEAR GCS632U" that I think I will be happier with. This time I did a little reading. .. :-)

Works OK, poor video
Pros: USB mouse/keyboard switching works well. Video switching does work.
Cons: Video signal is significantly degraded. It is still usable but became very fuzzy. Looking closely at the image reveals pixels jittering back and forth.
Other Thoughts: This is over a VGA connection to a 19" 4:3 LCD @ 1280x1024. Video was very crisp before using this KVM switch. I am using a Microsoft Natural 4000 keyboard and a Microsoft Trackball Explorer connected to Windows XP and Ubuntu 7.04. I haven't tried sound.

Poor Choice!
Pros: None - doesn't work! Website is absolutely useless.
Cons: Using 2 identical computers (Optiplex GX520's), only operational with one unit; mouse fails when switched to other unit. Using hotkey mode to "refocus" rarely works. Also causes one of the computers to freeze!
Other Thoughts: I'm using keyboards with CAC (common access card)readers. Odd that it would cause one of the computers to ignore the mouse.

works perfectly!!
Pros: no external power required, just plug into usb ports on both computers and double tap the scroll lock button (or control button).
I have had this product for about 3 months and use it constantly. It works so seamlessly, I forget that it's there sometimes.
Cons: It would be nice to be able to switch the kvm source and the audio source independantly.
Other Thoughts: I was skeptical about this product because of negative reviews but it has completly exceeded my expectations. I use a tower PC running vista which stays connected and an ibook that I detach frequently. I have yet to see this product malfunction.

luvit...!!!
Pros: now i don't have to jump from one desk to the other... and plus it leaves me with extra keyboard... monitor... and mouse...
Cons: none... i was using a wireless mouse on each of my machines... and wasn't sure whether it would work or not... so i bought a combo usb keyboard and mouse... glad i did... because the wireless mouse does work... but for some reason seems to have a little lag time whereas the usb connection doesn't...
Other Thoughts: really love the convenience of sitting in one spot... and whenever i'm doing thing like downloading or defragging i can easily switch to the other machine and play games... or even do something productive if i've a mind to... lol... ;-)

Iogear 2port USB Plus KVM Switch w/ Audio
Pros: Just built my 1st computer and still wanted to use the old one and didn't have the budget for a new monitor. Plugged the cables in to all the devices, turned both computers on and I'm switching back and forth between computers with no problems so far. Using a Dell(Trinitron) 19" CRT with an old (1999) Dell computer (PIII 700MHz) and a new home built (as of 3 days ago) computer with a Biostar MB with on board graphics (TF720a, AM2, AMD 4800+ 2.5 GHz). It's simple to use...just double click the scroll lock and you switch back and forth between the computers using the same USB keyboard and mouse. I plugged in a speaker (must have it's own power) and the sound toggles between the computers as well.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Great newegg service. Entire package arrived a little beat up, but all contents were safe and secure inside.

Fine for the price
Pros: Does what its supposed to do in terms of switching, switches quickly, audio support.
Cons: Slight degrade of video signal, background noise introduced to audio signal. Video signal is simply not as crisp/sharp as when directly connected to either machine. There is no background mechanical noise from my speakers when directly connected to either machine; it is loud enough to be an annoyance, and cause me to silence the speakers, but doesn't interfere with listening to audio.
Other Thoughts: Manual states "2 piece speakers only" and I am using a 2.1 set. Don't know why that would cause an issue, but it would have been nice to know that up front.

Works fine despite other reviews
Pros: Works as expected. No USB lag whatsoever. USB mouse and keyboard work immediately when switching between PC and laptop. EXCELLENT product.
Cons: I have to Auto adjust my LCD screen (push 2 buttons, not that big of a deal) when switching over to the PC, but that is expected considering the on-board stock video card on my PC.
Other Thoughts: Machines DO NOT have to re-aquaint themselves with USB mouse and keyboard. Product works flawlessly even shutting off my laptop and taking it with me. When I return and hook it up to the docking station, the mouse, keyboard, and monitor work instantly.

Initial glitch, but fine ever since
Pros: Works as expected. Much more convenient than swapping cables.
Cons: When I first hooked it up, it seemed to go into its alternate key programming mode and wouldn't come out. Stayed that way even after unplugging, rebooting. Walked away, came back next morning, everything fine. No problems since.
Other Thoughts: Using a Microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse combo. Mouse broke, so now using the wireless keyboard with a wired mouse. Also have a second dedicated mouse (trackball) on one computer. Audio only hooked up on one computer, but no popping.

Pros: It does what it's supposed to do.
Cons: None yet.
Other Thoughts: I only use the KM of the KVM, but it has worked fine so far. I'm using this at work, and some days use it 20-30 times a day. Works so far with my Sun Keyboard and mouse.

Widescreen support...?
Pros: I used the PS/2 version of this switch with my older PC for a number of years and it was always spot-on. Recently I got a new PC which doesn't have PS/2 ports, so it was necessary to give this a shot.
Seamless keyboard/mouse switching. Automatically shares audio. Alternate hot-keys available. Switches quickly.
Cons: This switch has emulated USB ports, so you may have difficulty with special or programmable keys or functions on your keyboard or mouse.
The same goes if you have a wireless keyboard/mouse combo that only uses a single, shared USB plug. Sometimes this does not work with the "fake" USB connectors.
The switch will not function at all and will appear to be DOA if you do not turn off your PC and install it with the PC off.
My newer L******h keyboard doesn't have a Scroll Lock key, so I had to use the alternate key sequence (Ctrl twice). This is inconvenient, although not the manufacturer's fault.
What is a problem is that my new widescreen D**l monitor has a native resolution of 1680x1050, which for some reason the switch can't handle. The mfr. says it's defective, but I suspect it may not be able to handle the widescreen resolution. I never tried the widescreen with the PS/2 version, so I don't know.
Other Thoughts: I RMA'd it. Be careful, this one incurs a restocking fee.

Lifewalker
Pros: It's cheap.
Cons: This thing was junk right out of the box. I hooked it up and it only had one side enabled. Was never able to switch to the other puter. The "buttons" on the top for "switching" computers, are not really buttons, just lighted indicators. I guess you get what you pay for.
Other Thoughts: I didn't return it since I didn't keep any of the packaging. Plus, why would I put more money into this item for the return shipping ?

Works as advertised
Pros: allows me to use 1 monitor/keybd/mouse w/ 2 computers
Cons: my wireless mouse/keybd combo wouldn't work properly with it no matter what I tried. my work around was to plug an old keybd in the keybd slot and use that to swtich. The wireless combo is in the mouse slot.
Other Thoughts: be wary when using with wireless combo units.

Burned on Hot swap
Pros: The KVM switch functions work really good. It does take a little time, 30 sec, during the switching process for the USB mouse to be recognized by computer. It is about the same time it take for the computer to recognize a USB mouse that is pluged in after the OS is up in running. It is mostly a refresh rate problem on the computer.
Cons: There are no ferrite beeds on the cables for ESD protection. This leads to a problem with hot swapping and my switch got burned. So make sure the computer is powered down before unpluging the monitor connector.

It works well sort of ??
Pros: Well it works well at what is says it does. Switches between my PC and Xbox 360 nicely.
Cons: I'm a gamer so naturally I use a gaming keyboard. This KVM switch does not recognize USB input. It has PS2 connection for keyboard and mouse. This sucks because it means I have to use another keyboard to kit the page up key which switches the two displays. I do this buy plugging in the PS 2 ports on the back of my PC and then plug in my gaming keyboard into the usb on the back of my PC. It also means that I can't have my USB mouse plugged into the switch it has to go straight to the PC.
Other Thoughts: This is a complicated set up and not really worth the trouble if you could find a a KVM switch that accepts both usb and ps2 inputs. As far as working it works great and I suppose if you have a PS 2 keyboard and mouse it would do just fine. I on the other hand bought it to be able to switch from my PC to my Xbox 360 and use one monitor. I have the MERCH board stealth keyboard and a logitech MX-15 moue that I'm using with this

Good Value, Does the job.
Pros: Good Price. Compact design. Long cable length. The response time is fast to switch between computers compared to other models, it takes about two seconds. There are allot of reviews that said their's quit working but mine has been working solid for 2.5 months with heavy use. I use it to switch from home and work PC's many times a day. (work from home).
Cons: I get some mouse lag every once and a while but I can't fully fault the KVM, it could be interference or the mouse.
Other Thoughts: I'm using a wired keyboard and a wireless mouse.

Got replacement on RMA died within a week
Pros: Absolutely nothing positive about this piece of junk.
Cons: Works ok for a little while, then the unit dies.
Other Thoughts: Ordered initial unit, it died sent back for rma. Recieved new unit, worked fine for all of a week, then died in the same way as the original. Utter Piece of Junk don't waste your money or time.

Flaky when it does work, then USB port dies
Pros: Very nice little device when it worked.
Cons: *I was using this KVM with a wireless keyboard mouse combo*
When I first got this kvm I couldn't get the keyboard hotkey to work for switching computers, upon further searching I discovered that the USB cable for the mouse and keyboard hub was plugged into the what was labeled the mouse port. I switched the hub to the keyboard port and the keyboard hotkeys started working fine. Everything was working great :-D.
*Fast forward 2 days.*
I sit down to use my computer and move the mouse, I get no response so I tap the keyboard, I get no response, I look over at the keyboard mouse hub and all the lights are off. I unplug and replug the hub and the computer kicks on and finds the mouse and keyboard. This would go on sporadically for a little over a month. Sometimes the KVM switch would work fine all day other times it would lose connection with the hub 3-4 times a day which would require me to unplug and replug it.
Other Thoughts: *Continued from cons*
It was a handy little device so I lived with "will my computer respond today?" until yesterday when the port labeled keyboard stopped working completely. Thinking that it was the hub I switched to a separate USB mouse and USB keyboard but they failed to work when attached to the USB keyboard port. So long story short is it worked at first, then it kinda worked, then it died. I'd looks somewhere else, unfortunately I'm not sure where, I'm in the same boat as you.

Does the job
Pros: Does what it says it does without any real problems. Supports my hardware well, including a Razer mouse (but not a Logitech G15 keyboard's advanced features).
Cons: This is more of a wishlist than cons. I'd like it to have a dedicated button to switch inputs, rather than keyboard only. Also, being able to select what to switch (say, just the keyboard) would be nice. It should act as a true hub to allow special USB devices (like the G15 keyboard) to fully work. But it's not supposed to do any of that, so no points taken.
The only real problem is that sometimes it needs to be reset as other have mentioned. Not a huge deal but slightly annoying.

USB Port DIes so Quickly
Pros: Easy to configure and utlize for dual PC functions with 1 Keyboard, Mouse, and Monitor
Cons: 1) The USB Port will eventually die out (usually 3 weeks - 3 months) 2) RMA is a bit of a hassle but decent compare to others
Other Thoughts: The KVM works well when it worked. I have bought 4 of these and I have done 2 RMAs. The one I own that has lasted the longest (about 8 months) just died on the USB Keyboard slot (checked with another keyboard and direct connect of keyboard without any issue except KVM port). I would not recommend nor buy it because they just don't last

SUPER FAST SHIPPING!
Pros: I ordered this last night at around 7pm and received it this morning at 10am with the standard free shipping. Was using a ps/2 iogear kvm with great success decided to get this one due to free shipping and reduced price. You have to look at the bottom of the iogear to see wear KB and Mouse plugin. Other than that everything is working fine :)

Needs Refinement but not without hope
Pros: It is fairly small and light weight so shipping to return it will not be bad
Cons: I was trying to use it with a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard and Mouse. I think my problems centered around the fact that the MS wireless keyboard and mouse have a combined receiver and hence only one usb plug. When I plugged the keyboard and mouse into the keyboard port of the KVM switch the keyboard worked fine but the mouse would be very jerky and scrolling with the wheel was not at the correct speed and I could not adjust that out. When I plugged the keyboard and mouse into the mouse port on the KVM switch the mouse would function as it was supposed to but the keyboard would not be detected correctly and the keyboard would not even switch the KVM Switch.
Other Thoughts: I am not writing this to slam IOGEAR as I was actually buying this because it was IOGEAR and the "IOGEAR GCS62W6" PS2 KVM switch that I have works flawlessly and I have had it for almost two years. I was buying this to use with another computer and a Mac. While the old one is perfect this product needs some refinement. It is obviously not totally defective since 58% of people as of this review date have rated it a 4 or 5 however 22% have rated it a 1 or 2 that like every fourth person that has bought it. I think many of the people having problems are actually having compatibility issues. I do not know but maybe this product would work great if you had a separate wired keyboard and mouse to plug into the separate ports.

Good Switch, Annoying Problems
Pros: It is a good little kvm switch if you need usb support, "when it works, its' great".
Cons: Like all the other reviewers the keyboard will stop working every now and then, at sometimes the fix is as simple as replugging in to usb chords, but most of the time it will require a reinstall/recognition of the keyboard.
Other Thoughts: If you really need an inexpensive kvm switch for usb, and dont mind the keyboard problem, then go for it. I personally don't mind but would have probably chosen a different switch if I would have known before hand.

Keybaord
Pros: When it works it is great.
Cons: Keyboard stops working about once a week and needs to be unplugged from both machines to get it to work again.

halfsies
Pros: Halfway decent. Uses usb, and allows me to use the logitech keyboard and mouse with a single receiver by plugging the receiver into the keyboard usb slot. Inexpensive. Uses the scroll lock key to switch back and forth from computers.
Cons: Halfway unreliable. Will work fine for long periods of time with two computers installed, and then all of a sudden will stop responding. I have learned that you need to plug and unplug the usb cables from both computers to make it respond again. This is a pain.
Other Thoughts: Lightweight, so I can just use velcro to attach it under the desk without having to use zip ties on peg board. It's cheap, so if you are in need of a non-ps2 input KVM, give it a try.

not rock solid
Pros: Scroll lock to switch is a nice idea.
Cons: Didn't work for long. My grandfather bought it. He became convinced his keyboard was flaky and bought a new one. Around the time he stopped using the KVM as he moved to one machine full time. He gave the KVM me and I used it in the office. After a week the keyboard stopped responding.
Other Thoughts: His keyboard "problems" were likely caused by the KVM. It's what caused the KB problem in the office. Of course the KB worked fine plugged into one of the machines. From other reviews here and elsewhere this is not an isolated incident. So what if it works for some people, it might not work for you. I'd rather have a product that's guaranteed to work and keep working.

Super product, for about 2 weeks
Pros: It did everything it claims. It installs easy, & works fast, great resolution, sound, etc.
Cons: This is my second one in a month. The first one lasted about two weeks, then the Keyboard side of the switch died. I went thru the inconv. of changing & replacing it, thinking it may be a fluke. The new one lasted about a week or so, then did the same thing! I see this is a problem on their other models now as well!
Other Thoughts: Need I say more?

For the money, fantastic KVM
Pros: Great response. Works excellently for my purposes for the MOST part. For the money, it's flawless!
Cons: It does not run or power USB keyboards that require external power. Logitech G15 keyboard will not allow you to use the LCD or the extra G macro keys. The normal keyboard functions all still work perfectly.
Other Thoughts: One way around the unpowered USB problem is to connect a powered USB hub inbetween the KVM and the keyboard.

It works
Pros: It allows me to share a keyboard, mouse and monitor between my PC and my Mac Mini. It does not get in my way by calling attention to itself.
Cons: None known.
Other Thoughts: I might tape the names of the hotkeys needed to switch between machines to the device.

Pros: Works great! Out of the box, hit scroll lock twice and your on the other computer.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Since it's usb mouse and keyboard support, you have to make sure that your mouse and keyboard aren't on the pci bus if you wan't them to work before the os gets loaded

Great little doo-hicky!!
Pros: I've had this only a few days and it keeps up with my need to switch from comp to comp ALL THE TIME just fine. The cables are PLENTY long, and tappin the Scroll Lock twice flips it back and forth! Excellent product.
Cons: None that I've...

Works Perfect
Pros: This unit worked perfect for my situation. I purchased a KVM switch that used PS/2 connections only to realize one of my computers did not have any PS/2 ports. Hooked this unit up in about 5 minutes and both machines were working perfectly through the same monitor, keyboard and mouse. Double tap the Scroll Lock key and swap in between them.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Couldn't have asked for an easier setup.
