Very good unit
Pros: It powers my rig... consistent power, quite, and cool, what more could you ask for!?
Cons: Doesn't double as a convection oven
Other Thoughts: I previously had an Antec EarthWatts 750W unit and though it was defective, but it was actually just my audio card, if the X-Fi audio card on the ASUS Crosshair III formula mobo is pushed in all the way, the system will not boot. This can be easily fixed by pulling out the card about 1/8 of an inch and adjusting it until it works

Top Notch
Pros: From opening the box, to the 3 month point of ownership, this PSU has surpassed anything in my experience. Unbelievably quiet, all cables reached where they gotta go in the large Antec 1200. Just the right amount of hard wired versus modular cabling. But the voltage stability is simply unique. Running OCT torture tests and looking at the graphs afterwards show a totally flat graph which makes for easier OC'ing and low CPU voltages (every day OC profile at 3.7 GHz on a 920 w/ CPU voltage of 1.125 and temps in low 50's on air.
Cons: Price premium over CP-850 which just about matches its electrical performance.

Pros: Powerful (850W seems pretty conservative), efficient, rock-steady, silent, and pretty slick-looking
Cons: Both a 4-pin and an 8-pin CPU power cable come permanently attached - I really like the idea of having the basic cables that everyone is going to use be fixed and the rest modular, but no one is going to use both the 4 and 8-pin, so there's always going to be one extraneous cable. Really nit-picky and not really solvable, not much of a con at all.
Other Thoughts: Yeah it's pretty expensive for a PSU, not sure if I'd even really recommend paying this much for one if you're on any sort of budget, but I will say that I for one don't regret buying it, it's really a quality psu that lends me peace of mind, cuts down on my power bill, lets me overclock to my heart's content, allows for future upgrades, and is completely inaudible (though I do admittedly keep my graphics card fans turned up pretty high)

Does it get any better than this?
Pros: I can't say enough about the quality of this power supply. It is hands down the nicest power supply I have ever installed/owned. First of all there is power for all 6 of my hard drives, both of my DVD/BR drives, and then some.
Next is the unboxing of the actual power supply. When you open the box (Which is so nice you will hesitate to throw it away) you will first notice the hand written and stamped certificate of quality by the technician that check the power supply out. Impressive.
Lastly, the feel of the power supply. I have been a technician for 10 years and I will tell you, If you pick up a cheap power supply that is 500 watts in one hand and a premium one in the other, the first thing you will notice is the weight difference. Simply put, better transistors, capacitors, and components are heavier. This power supply is no exception. It is heavy and built solid.
Cons: None at all
Other Thoughts: I am not sure how long this power supply is going to last, but I will say that you will be hard pressed to find a better quality power supply on the market today and I am going to put my money on this one lasting a long time.
If you are debating whither or not to purchase this power supply or another one, stop thinking, just click BUY.

Caution Advised!
Pros: 1 Star for the nice box plus 1 Star 'cause I'm a nice guy.
It worked for a few weeks. Kept it going for a few months longer by not shutting down the computer until I was forced to by MS updates until finally the computer wouldn't start.
Cons: It's been my experience that if proper QA is performed, rarely will you have a problem with a PS. Within a few weeks after installation the video card started chattering (Asus EAH4870X2) on power up. In reading the reviews posted here it was identified as a PS issue. A response from Antec indicated that it was an extremely rare problem and the unit would be exchanged at their expense. I filled out a ticket and received the RA#. I emailed customer service explaining that I have a Signature series PS and that I shouldn't have any shipping charges. Response from RMA dept.: "Shipping is a 50/50. You have the pay for the shipping to us. And we are going to pay the shipping for you." Shipped the PS at my expense. Waiting on replacement.
Other Thoughts: I have purchased Antec power supplies in the past with a couple D.O.A. and others working fine but think I'll look elsewhere in the future.
I bought an Enermax Galaxy 1000W Crossfire a few weeks ago and the computer is running great!
If I ever receive the refurbished SG-850, I'd sell it on line but I'm just too honest.

Antec Signature 850W
Pros: The Antec Signature power supplies are the very best power supplies on the market. Line regulation and ripple voltage are the best, some units come close in the ripple voltage category (PC Power & Cooling 910W, Corsair HX750, Corsair HX850). The Antec CP-850 also performs very close to the Signature PSUs, but it only fits in a few cases (Antec P183/P193, 1200).
The Signature 850W has a surprisingly quiet, Japanese made sleeve bearing 80mm exhaust fan. Thanks to the unique and innovative dual PCB design, these power suppliers stay cooler than any other.
Line regulation is impeccable, while I don't have a multimeter, I measure with softwares such as HWMonitor and EVGA E-LEET. The highest I've seen the +3.3v rail get to was 3.34v, and the lowest being 3.28v. For the +5v rail, lowest is 4.99v, highest is 5.04v. For the +12v rails, lowest is 12.00v, highest is 12.08v. This is due to the quality internals. Good OCP on the +12v rails. Good efficiency, 80 Plus BRONZE.
Cons: No flaws.
Other Thoughts: 70A continuous on the +12v rails (70A) would have been nice for the price. Flat modular cables would have been nice for the price. Higher efficiency level (80 Plus SILVER or GOLD) would have been nice for the price. Still this PSU has no real flaws.

dead
Pros: pretty box
Cons: lasted almost 5 months
Other Thoughts: would have thought a high $ PSU would last for a long time. Looks like I will have to pickup a Corsair, or something else, as a replacement. By no means was it stressed, I over bought on the watt rating bigtime.

Died after about a month
Pros: None.
Cons: Ordered brand new and failed very soon after 30 days. Newly-built very high-end computer for personal use ran great but then one day it spontaneously shut down. Then nothing, no lights, not any response no matter what I tried. After testing various components I replaced the power supply with a newer working one and the computer once again ran flawlessly.
This PSU has many great reviews from various hardware websites and would seem to be one of the best units around but from experience it is clearly just as lackluster as units which are a third the price.
I would expect this or similar from other PSU's but not this one. Absolutely unacceptable, do not recommend.
Other Thoughts: Admittedly this is the first problem I've ever encountered with a product from Antec. I've bought many products (cases and many power supplies) from them in the past without having any issues at all. I was shocked as well as sad when I found out the PSU was my problem :(
Currently waiting on the Antec RMA process.

Burned Out
Pros: Worked fine while it lasted.
Cons: After a little over a week of usage I heard a popping sound and saw smoke coming out of the power supply. Return shipping for RMA put a nice dent in my wallet.
Other Thoughts: Waiting on RMA and hoping nothing else is damaged.

Amazing PSU
Pros: What can I say, it does it's job. This thing is QUIET. Overclocked my Core i7 920 to 4ghz, and I attribute that to the solid current being supplied by this PSU. If you're overclocking and suddenly you bluescreen you might think, "oh, my OC is unstable." Really though, your PSU is probably just dropping voltages left and right. If you want a solid PSU, nothing else on the market beats this IMO.
Cons: More expensive than other 850W PSUs. You get what you pay for though.
Other Thoughts: This thing comes with a warranty card and a checklist of various tests that the unit must go through in order to pass and ship out. The checklist is also signed by an Antec employee. It says he's an engineer, but probably just a technician lol.

Awesome Power Supply
Pros: I agree with breathless, no better PS. Great power output and quiet. The fact that it is checked before going out is a great thing too. Very fancy packaging and nice looking too. Plenty of cables. Very pleased.
Cons: None that I can come up with. I have had this for two weeks now. We shall see how it does in the long term.
Other Thoughts: As some suggest, be creative with cable management. This always helps. I am powering a Sunbeam transformer case with three lighted fans, a 9800GTX, a Gigabyte 790x UD4P MB, 8 gigs of G-skill ram, a AMD 940 quad core and a 300 gig velociraptor. Runs problem free. I HIGHLY recommend this PS.

Sweet!!!
Pros: Very sleek and quiet. Works like a champ! Matches my Antec 1200 beautifully. Wires were all long enough to reach around that big ole' case as well! No noise at all when compared to all the case fans.
Cons: Did get a bit warm but after setting up a second fan to push air through, nothing.... It's like the heat just went away!
Other Thoughts: Currently pushing: Q9450 OC'ed to 3.6 from 2.6 8gb of RAM 8 case fans Zalman 9700 CPU fan 2 x GTX 285's OC'ed(believe it could handle a third as well) 1 TB HDD and the DVD Burner IT'S A MONSTER!!!!!

pure greatness
Pros: this power supply is absolutely stunning, it is amazing. i got it for my brothers computer that i built. it has been a champ, it is exposed to extremely dusty conditions and my brother doesnt clean it very much at all. it has really done the job.
Cons: none.
Other Thoughts: this is one of the best power supplies i have ever installed into a computer, it is a little pricey but you cant compare the price to its reliability. it could be better if it had some LEDs in it but, i suppose thats what cold cathodes are for.

Pros: quiet, lots of cables.
Cons: one of the power cables was a bit short to work well in my skeleton case, the one is the 4 pin connector that goes onto the motherboard, I had to route it "outside" the "case." To reach neatly it would need to be several inches longer.
Other Thoughts: more power supply than I will ever have the need for, but I would rather er on the overside and not max out the PSU

Sweet PSU
Pros: I love this power supply, it has plenty of power for what I'm doing. I only have a single GPU but I plan on running more. The quality is outstanding you receive a card stating the tests it passed signed by the tech who ran them. Plenty of cables and its modular so that is a def plus.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Not all the cables were long enough to run behind my computer. I have an Antec Twelve Hundred case and when running the cables between the mobo and back panel its a close fit. For me this doesn't really reflect on the PSU though.

High quality power supply!!
Pros: I purchase this PSU to replace my older one. Mainly because I saw the online review that this PSU has ultra low AC ripple and noise (Measeuerd at both high frequency and low frequency)! another good thing is that has higher efficiency that my older one. I use my PC mainly for music listening, I recently purchase the ASUS HDMI sound card(you can see my review there), I thought it sound good, but with this low noise PSU, it sounded even better! Recomended for people wants to build an high quality Home Theater PC!!
Cons: None!
Other Thoughts: I purchase this PSU mainly for it's low ripple and noise, so I can get way better sound quality out of PC, I notice the sound quality sounded way smoother, cleaner and amazing compare to the noisey PSU I use to got! With low noise is more friendier to the hard drive too, so if has less chance to get data corruption!!

Pros: Runs quiet, runs cool. Huge number of cables to attach almost anything.
Cons: Fairly large draw at start-up. Not as modular as I would have liked.

Heavy is good
Pros: I was struck by the beautiful packaging, clearly a product of pride by Antec. Enough connectors in every format for anything I can imagine.
Cons: The hardwired Molex power line might not be used by a leading edge build, unless you have an internal optical drive. It was the only hardwired cable I had to try and hide with no application for it. Would rather see Molex relegated to the plug-in ports rather than hardwired.
Other Thoughts: The box is almost too nice to throw away. Felt like I was opening a prize of some sort. Oh wait I was.

Solid. Excellent PSU
Pros: This is a very quiet PSU. It has a very sleek look and is a fantastic compliment to my repainted nine-hundred. Never had a lick of trouble with it and it may have in fact saved my other components.
Cons: Short on connectors? I use this in a tri-sli system and it works great (draw peaks at ~700w). However I needed to use splitters to power my GTX's. I realize that there are other PSU's designed for tri-sli but nevertheless it would be nice if more PSU's had the flexibility to supply 6x6pin.
Other Thoughts: I had a faulty hard drive shorting my computer. I would turn it on and the PSU would fault before ever turning on the system. After RMA'ing that HDD everything runs great. I'm happy that this PSU was able to save itself, and possibly other components, from a damaged device.

Worked for five minutes
Pros: I recently purchsed all new parts, aside from a GPU, to put together a new i7 build. I even bought an Antec 1200 case, and wnt with this PSU since it will match the color of the 1200 and the little fan grills of the 1200 on the back. Astheticly it looks great.
Cons: I got the system running after about two hours of tucking/hiding cabling throughout the 1200. I finally got done and sat down to boot up the system, went into the BIOS and was about to set up the voltage and timing for my RAM when a loud pop sounded and the entire system cut off. Nothing I could do would make the PSU come back on. Thankfully I had a BFG 800w psu laying around from an old build and tried it, everything works perfectly. The Signature SG850 here blew after around five minutes of use.
Other Thoughts: I have already went to Antec's site to apply for a ticket as the rep told some other reviewers on here. I hope their RMA time is fast, because I needed this system done today for a client. I will update the review after everything goes through, and I "hopefully" have a working SG850.

This power supply rocks!
Pros: Great quality, quiet, plenty of clean power, modular, looks great. Comes with 4 pci-e connectors for my 2 XFX 9800 GTX+ cards in SLI.
Cons: None. I think Antec power supplies are some of the best you can buy.
Other Thoughts: ASUS Striker II Extreme mobo with Intel Q9559 Yorkfield at 2.83 Ghz overclocked to 3.4 Ghz with Zalman 9700 CPU cooler and artic silver thermo paste. 8 GB of Corsair DDR3 ram and 2 XFX 9800GTX+ cards in SLI with a Western Digital 1tb hard drive and a Samsung DVD burner in an Antec 900 case.

There is no better PSU.... really
Pros: I have tried units from various other manufacturers.... several top end models. This is the quietest of them all, even ones that were claimed as "silent". This is because the fan is not the only thing that makes noise in a PSU. There is also a certain amount of electromagnetic interference that is audible in power supplies. Do the vsync test and you will know what I mean. Turn off vsync and then run a game or benchmark that will give you a high framerate (IE: ATITOOL, or an old game). Likely, even if you spent a lot of money on your high end power supply, you will hear some very freaky noises coming from your PSU if you don't have a bunch of other fans running loudly in your case. This is from low quality components (even in high end units). The noises that you will hear when you do this test will be signifcantly lower in this PSU. Also, the fan is virtually silent, even at medium to high load as long as you don't live in a sauna. DEAD SILENT, HIGHEST QUALITY, LOOKS GREAT.
Cons: Not 100% modular, but doesn't need to be. Be creative with your wire management people..... don't fault PSU's because they have some of the cords attached. This is for efficiency. Unless you got a bad unit (IE: DOA), there are no faults to this power supply... NONE. Personally, I like a shinier look to PSU's, but this one has a good look even though it isn't shiny.
Other Thoughts: To save your self some time (or waste some of it depending on how you look at it), go to u-tube and type in "power supply squeal". You will see two video reviews of mine right at the top that expose the low quality components on some high end PSU's. You can't make a better decision than but to purchase this unit. You can get cheaper, but you can also get crappier.

High Quality PSU
Pros: This is an extremely quiet psu. When I put my ear up to the fan I can't even hear it. It is very high quality and energy efficient. Modular cabling is very nice to reduce case clutter.
Cons: Zero

Pros: It is Pure Class. No Flashing lights and neon glow. This thing comes in a very slick package and it screams world class. This thing barely gets warm under as full a load as I can throw at it. Very quiet. Plenty of cables for anything you desire. The Internal components are of the highest quality.
Cons: Are you kidding?
Other Thoughts: Um Ya go ahead and buy now!

almost perfect
Pros: Couldn't ask for better, more stable power out of a psu. I was actually able to increase my cpu overclock after replacing my thermaltake toughpower unit with this one. At over 600w loaded, I've yet to hear this unit hum. Simply the finest psu I've come in contact with.
Cons: 4-pin power cable is hard wired. 8 pin power cable is not long enough to route behing mobo on bottom mounted psu configs.
Other Thoughts: Though some of antecs other psu's are far from spectacular, this unit really sets the bar in it's class. I would seriously take it over similar pc p&c's, zippys, or corsairs. I don't normally submit reviews to the egg after purchases, but this psu truely deserved some recognition.

Quality
Pros: Opening the box, this is screaming quality. They have the list of hand-checked qualities. And then the guy's signature who did it. Extremely well packaged. You can tell what was paid for this psu. Extremely quiet, even under full load. No faults whatsoever.
Cons: Price, if anything.
Other Thoughts: Get it. You will NOT be disappointed.

Pros: None
Cons: I am very disappointed in this PS. For something that is hand check you would figure there would not be any defects. I installed this PS along with my other items I purchased. It booted up and seemed to run fine, then I started to get a clicking noise in the middle of installing my new 9800gtx+. Needless to say the monitor kicked off and it never worked after that. Every time I tried to power up I would hear the clicking noise where the PS would turn on but I never got power to the rest of the computer. As of this writing it is too late in the day to get a RMA so I will be doing that first thing in the morning.
Manufacturer Response:We offer a call tag to pick up the unit at our cost and cross shipment for any Signature that fails. There have only been a few. We hope you'll send it to us so that our engineers can look at it. http://www.antec.com/newticket.html Be sure to specify Signature, serial #, address, email, phone.

WOW
Pros: I was blown away by the attention to detail Antec seems to put into their products. This PSU is powering a 9600BE Phenom @ 2.8ghz and 2 3870s at 800mhz with zero issues. I'm sure I don't even need half of 850W, but I couldn't be happier with this purchase.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I don't usually go with this brand, but I wanted something that would match the Antec 900 I put it in. (The mesh on the rear is the same as on the 900).

Couldn't ask for better
Pros: What can I say? Fantastic warranty, Steady clean power and enough to tackle the most demanding power needs, whisper quiet and comes from Antec...'nuff said!
Cons: Really nothing to complain about.
Other Thoughts: As with any Antec device, you get what you pay for. You get top quality along with excellent technical support. I'll always choose Antec PSU's over the competition.

Absolutely ridiculous build quality
Pros: I think they hire autistic midgets to build this thing, super clean.
Cons: none. If anything the wires were stiff but that is because they seem to be a thicker grade.
Other Thoughts: worth the price. Bulletproof.

Was getting blue screens and other hiccups with an Other Crummy Zupply. All problems went away with installation of this supply
Cons: no more excuses when I get fragged
Other Thoughts: I'm not getting fragged as much

Not very reliable
Pros: No Pros, havent been able to get it to work for an extended period of time
Cons: I purchased this item, installed it, worked for bit, then stopped. For weeks I have tried and failed to make this thing operate correctly. I have 3 power supples, an 1100 and a 650, both able to power my rig, but this one just will not, its almost as if its grounding out somehow.
Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend buying a different PS, this one seems very unreliable.
Manufacturer Response:Please contact technical support at your earliest convenience to arrange a replacement under warranty. Since each unit is tested individually, we are going to issue a special RMA so that this unit is forwarded directly to an engineer for analysis. Please create a ticket at http://www.antec.com/newticket.html with your address, email and the serial number of your PSU. We should have your RMA set up for you by the next business day.

Superb
Pros: Best in class. The components in this thing are only the absolute best.
I got it to power my Intel Core i7 (one more month!), 4870x2, 12GB DDR3, Velociraptor, Antec Twelve hundred machine.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I vote with my money. I WANT companies to use high quality parts more often.
Antec used the highest quality parts in this product - so I supported them.

Follow up to average review
Pros: The fan does not get loud under heavy loads. Power supply is stable under heavy loads. I would recommend this power supply to any one looking for one with high efficiency, stability, and a quiet fan. Antec support got back to me right away to assist me.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Follow up to last review regarding the power supply getting really hot during heavy loads. I moved the 9800GX2 to a different PCI Express slot further away from the power supply. This cooled the power supply down a lot. The power supply has worked great.

Pros: I have a 9800GX2 and QX9770 installed in my system. Do not have any stability issues with system when playing games and under heavy load testing.
Cons: Power supply is really hot under heavy loads. The fan does not speed up at all to cool it down. Took it out and plugged in old power supply for now. Waiting to hear back from Antec support.
