Wonderful KVM
Pros: I bought this KVM to be used with a Linux, windows, mac and solaris box. All worked well with the switch. By far the best KVM I've ever used especially for the price
Cons: No DVI, but not really a con for me because the machines I was using all used VGA
Other Thoughts: IOGear is really good at KVM's

Pros: Little to no video loss, decent switching speed, no lag while gaming. As is the norm... Newegg Rocks!
Cons: Finally found a switch I really like and it quits after less than a year. Mouse hangs every 5 to 10 seconds until it is unplugged and plugged back in (I have reset it more than ten times while typing this message).
Other Thoughts: You made a quick buck IOGear, but lost a return customer. To the sure to come reply from IOGear that the unit is still under warranty for exchange: I bought the unit with the intention of actually USING it, not exchanging it every nine months. The search for a descent KVM continues...
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and sorry about your experience. From your description above, it sounds like you have a bad unit. Please feel free to contact our tech support at 1(866)946-4327 and we would be glad to assist you. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

Switching errors
Pros: Works great when it works
Cons: I've been getting Analog "Out Of Range" errors when I switch computers. It's when I go from XP to Windows 7 that I get the error. It happens I'd say about every third time I switch. It also happens when I boot up in themorning and I boot and log off with the Windows 7 computer. When the error comes up I have to do a reset and hope it starts ok the next time. I finally gave up and disconnected it and went back to two computers on two separate desks. They got there $70 and I got a paperweight. I emailed there support but haven't heard anything back yet.

Pros: very good, it doesn't need external power. It comes 4 cables for 4 devices and everything is in one package.
Cons: Since this device also transfers sound and I can hear the hard disk spin from speaker which connects to the device. But it's not bad.

I recomment this product
Pros: Very responsive. Keyboard switching actually works quite well. I do not mind it at all. I have used it to set up computers (MAC and PC) and have no issues. Cable length is more than adequate. The switch has been a pleasant suprise. Newegg's shipping is fantastic
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: My main computer is a laptop, which is attached for a dual monitor effect. And I use the other ports for computers that I am working on, (setting up)

Great Buy
Pros: 4 port KVM w/ independent audio Works well between XP Pro and Vista home Premium easy to cycle between comps or from say #1 dircetly to #3 without going to #2 first or any combo for most cases does not require software to install the switch which is a real plus if you don't have admin acess I work for the military and I have multiple computers I have to use on a daily basis with multiple Keyboards monitors and mice to use this allowed me to get rid of some of that clutter without having to get admin rights to install additional software well worth the price!!
Cons: bought my first from a retail store for more than $100 over a year ago :(
Other Thoughts: Yes 2 of the 4 cables are permanent so if something happened to one of the cables you wouldn't be able to replace it without sending to IOGear however, for most cases this is not a problem since you need at least 2 comps to use a KVM switch anyway

Not for Logitech wireless combos
Pros: Ludicrously cheap for a 4-way KVM with cables. Small, stylish package, decent cable management (all device cables exit back, console cables on the side, one blank side, indicators only on front.) Works just fine, provided you're using a separate *wired* keyboard and mouse.
Cons: Even adding 5V 1A power supply to an unused device cable, I could not, for the life of me, get this to work with a Logitech S510 wireless kb/mouse combo, which works just fine plugged directly into anything I've tried. Not only does the S510 keyboard not function, (regardless of which of the 2 USB ports I plug the receiver into on the KVM,) but if the S510 receiver is plugged into the KVM at all, and the KVM is plugged into *any* machine, even when controlling that machine with a hard-wired PS2 keyboard & mouse, the entire machine FREEZES for a few seconds every few seconds! I'm not talking just cursor-freeze, even the task manager freezes up!
Other Thoughts: I read a suggestion that the inability to work with a wireless combo, and a possible cause of the freezing is power starvation. You'd think plugging more than one of the KVM usb cables into a powered port should solve this, but apparently not. (Each port should supply 0.5A.) Apparently this KVM only draws power from the active input. I read a suggestion that one use a powered USB hub either between the KVM and one of the host machines, or between the KVM and the receiver for a wireless kb/mouse, and have not tried this... but should I have to in order to use a *VERY* popular combo that predates this KVM and does just fine with the 0.5A it gets from any port I've tried? If you want to go wireless for your multi-machine rig, look elsewhere.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and sorry about your experience. Due to your keyboard and mouse combo's receiver is using both PS/2 and USB interface, you would need to use our GUC10KM to convert the PS/2 mouse into USB so that you can connect that into the console USB mouse port. On the keyboard side, simply connect it to the console USB keyboard port. And it will work as a charm. If there is any issue using this setup, you might have a bad unit. Since this unit is backed by IOGEAR's 3 year warranty, please feel free to contact our tech support at 1(866)946-4327 and we would be glad to assist you. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

Buggy Performance, Low Price
Pros: Low price for a 4-port KVM switch.
Cons: Hotkey switching is inconsistent and buggy. A remote, wired hardware switch is a better option, in my opinion. Sometimes the hotkey switching gets "lost" (for lack of a better term) between computers, requiring a session of switching cables, un-plugging/re-plugging keyboard & mouse cables, and re-booting of computers until the KVM gets everything sorted out again. The frequency of this problem is 1-2 times a month, with full-time use 7 days a week. This problem does not occur with hardware switch KVM's. I would replace it with something else, something better, but most options are w-a-y more expensive.
Other Thoughts: Only one monitor port, but that's not a failure of this product, just a requirement that it doesn't fulfill for me personally.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and sorry about your experience. This would happen if you unplug and re-plug the keyboard and mouse multiple times even if you have the keyboard and mouse connected directly to the computer. Therefore, when it happens that you need to unplug and re-plug your keyboard and mouse, instead of doing that, trigger HSM (Hotkey Settings Mode) then press [F5] for a USB reset. For details please refer to page 14-5 in the user manual. If you would like a remote switch button version, you suggest you our GCS24U. But as for your monitor concern, we do have a dual monitor VGA KVM which the model no. is GCS1744, it has both hotkey and front panel pushbutton for switching, which would fit your needs. If you have any question, please feel free to contact our tech support 7 days a week at 1(866)946-4327, and we would be glad to assist you. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

Nice Product
Pros: A nice solid product. Switches between my XP and Linux systems without a hitch. The audio-optional switch is a nice feature (you can listen to iTunes on your XP while working on your Linux).
This choice was a bit of overkill for my application - just two computers (not four) - but after readying the product reviews this one seemed particularly robust and I am not disappointed.
I even like the relatively large size of the unit (necessary for the four connections it supports). It sits firmly on my desktop and is a nifty support for one of my speakers.
Cons: None.

IOGEAR GCS634U
Pros: Nice look, clean style, works great with seperate wired usb keyboard and mouse.
Cons: Bought to use with Lenovo SK-8845 (USB keyboard/mouse combo - good for racked installs). Keyboard works but no mouse/2 port USB Hub when plugged into keyboard port. Keyboard/Mouse/2 Port USB Hub work when plugged into mouse port, but can't switch between servers. Called tech support with no luck. <Scroll Lock> <Scroll Lock> <Enter> commands only change systems if issued thru the keyboard port. Tech told me they never have tested with a combo keyboard/mouse setup. Strange given most KVMs are used with servers mounted in a rack with such a keyboard. Looking to return.
Other Thoughts: Great for home use
