great budget cpu
Pros: 3 cores, ability to slightly overclock, 2MB of L3 cache
Cons: nothing really
Other Thoughts: bulletproof as usual for an AMD processor. Outdated and outclassed now by the phenom IIs, but if you get a good deal on an AM2+ mobo I would still buy it. I have upgraded to 8 gigs of DDR2 800 and a Radeon 5850 and I can play anything. Mine is running at about 2.58 Ghz all day and all night. Temps are fine.

Seems Great
Pros: - easy to install - accompanying fan and heatsink seem fine to me (and you have to use them with this processor in order for the 3-year warranty to remain valid)... the heatsink comes with a pre-applied thermal insulation substance (and it's as big as any I've seen before)... can install this thing in about a minute (with little to no experience)... - seems fast enough, though I haven't tried to overclock it etc, as I don't really have to... temp stays well below 50 degrees C... - works perfectly with my new ASUS M4A785-M 785G Mobo, and I expect them to keep trucking for years
Cons: - none
Other Thoughts: - the fan has a 4-pin connector (fyi) - it says this is a "true triple-core" processor, whatever that means... I was unsure about the odd number of cores, but it seems to work great... with only 2GB of 667 MHz RAM, it seems I can run a multitude of programs simultaneously, smoothly and quickly (I'm not a gamer though)... - I bought it and my mobo as a combo (for about $150), along with other components, all of which work well... This was my first Newegg experience, and they've got themselves a loyal customer for life. - I live in Canada (and it's winter), and was worried that a long, cold day in the back of a UPS truck might wreak a bit of havoc on my processor and mobo (though this concern was totally uninformed/uncredible, it was just a vague, minor worry)... The component boxes were very cold when delivered, but everything works perfectly.

Great workmanship
Pros: Though i couldn't find a monitoring system that could read all three cores, it was still amazingly fast for the value. Not an i7, but works nearly as well. tested with prime95 and at basic overclocking it did a great job.
Cons: none so far

Great Processor!
Pros: Very good Budget Gaming CPU in my opinion, i stepped up from an x2 5000+ and there is certainly a difference here. I can multi task very easily play a game (Dragon Age Origins) in witch is a game that benefits with multi core, watch a movie, browse the internet, listen to music all at once, it takes it all in very easily like it's nothing. I was surprised I could play such a game that is so heavy on the CPU and do all these other task at the same time. It also has some nice L3 cache compared to my old CPU in witch it did not have. If you can catch it in a good combo deal then go for it! Other wise just get the Black Edition it's cheaper than this one now. I'm not really a total freak when it comes to alway's wanting to upgrade when really it's unnecessary to for my needs. I think it should hold off for the next couple years or so and then I'll do another upgrade to a nice Quad or something depending on what's out at the time if needed. Oh know!!! Running out of room here...see cons
Cons: Really nothing is a con with this CPU except it's not the Black Edition with an unlocked multiplier. You can still over clock it from the Bios. The price has gone up for it to $87.00 where as the BE is only $73.00 at the time of this review. If your like me and on a tight budget then it's a good route to go for a Triple core over Dual, yeah they may be faster in speed sometimes but there are more and more games on there way... Hungry for more cores. Dual core is fading out don't be a fool just at least future proof yourself with a nice AMD X3 it doesn't matter Phenom or Phenom II they're around the same price as a Dual core! If your lucky enough you may be able to unlock the fourth core on some of these chips and get a nice Quad :p
Other Thoughts: AMD = More bang for buck, good performance :)
Intel = Overpriced!!! You know what I mean MF's... yes they may have a little better performance sometimes but also realize you will pay $$$ for it too.
I got this in a combo deal with an ASUS M4A785-M Motherboard for $126.00 at the time of purchase and the board is normally $80.00 so the CPU ended up being under 60 bones! Not bad for a triple core :) I haven't messed with it much when it comes to over clocking it but I have managed to get it up to 2.7, 2.8 GHz stable from the Bios. I did get it to 2.9 but it started blue screening on me but that's understandable since the ram I have isn't really that great. It still can be over clocked higher 3.0 GHz and a little above that, just do some research on Google and you will see.

Awesome deal
Pros: Cool temps. Unlockable. Very stable regaurdless of the professional reviewers comments.
Cons: none as of yet.
Other Thoughts: Did months of research on all types of quad-core before i finally bought this. But learned that with the right board the 4th core of this CPU can be unlocked simply from the BIOS with a single setting. And will run on par with an AMD phenom X4 9550 once this is done, also with out the need for more cooling as it runs at the same temps. So it was so worth the lower price to end up with a quad for the price of a triple core. So do your research on boards and buy this for a surprise right out of the box.

Nice
Pros: Has always been stable and cool I waited for the B3 stepping to make sure I got a cpu without the TLB bug
Cons: Nothing. I researched it before I bought. I knew what I was getting.
Other Thoughts: I recently rebuilt my system and kept this cpu for the time being. I went with an AM3 785 board and a Radeon 5850. This processor is more that adequate even with gaming. I have it mildly overclocked to 2.58 Ghz and it is 100% stable. Don't expect major OCs with this cpu, they aren't known for it

Great speed!
Pros: I installed this in my HTPC build, using the windows xp OS, and it runs circles around my quad core 2.2 Ghz AM2+ 9600 processor. I am very pleased with this processor for it's speed and durability.
Cons: Runs incredibly hot. Make sure that that you have circulation and that you have more than just the stock processor fan cooling down the processor.

Love it so far
Pros: Great value for the price. Ordered it with an Asus MB combo, and love both so far. Was able to easily OC this to 2.65... tried to push 2.7, but Vista 32 bit HP became a little unstable at that speed. Is working great at 2.65! Running 4 Gb corsair 800 with it, and sailing smooth.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Running very cool oc'd with the stock heatsink and fan on Asus M3N78 mb!

Pros: -Three cores, which is better than two (even if most applications only support dual cores, there are usually some background processes taking up some cpu as well) -Runs surprisingly cool with the stock heatsink/fan -Mine overclocked pretty well even though it was at the max voltage already -L3 Cache (my brothers expensive Intel Q6600 doesn't have an L3 Cache)
Cons: AM2+, so there is no support for DDR3 memory, but I knew that when I bought it and its also probably part of the reason for such a low price.
Other Thoughts: I'm not sure what cases the people are using who are getting this processor running above 40 under normal load but mine runs very cool with the stock cooler in my Antec 902. It idles around 30C and never gets above 51C under full Prime95 load. These temperatures are with a 3.0Ghz overclock and a .025V increase. The motherboard I'm using is a Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P.

Good Memory
Pros: 1066 price
Cons: Wont 1066 on my board though its not the fault of the memory.
Other Thoughts: I am getting more and the I like the case sticker.

A little warm, but not bad at all
Pros: Nice little chip, Runs great in XP, Great price, Very impressed
Cons: A little hot under loads, but nothing to worry about.
Other Thoughts: "Fifteen million dollars is not money. It's a motive with a universal adapter on it."

runs a little hot, but great perf overall
Pros: fast and cheap. does everything i thought it would.
no blue screens and complete out-of-the-box automatic vista and linux support.
odd number of cores doesn't mean anything bad, and means good if you're coming from single-core world.
miscellaneous motherboard overclocking tests also prove this CPU to be a winner all around.
Cons: runs a bit hot, even with ample case cooling, at around 45C~55C when running netflix and hulu, although this is with stock fan that came with processor.

Cons: NONE

Really good
Pros: All Good! I was very impressed since I build computers for a living.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Windows XP is not giving me full use of my Quad Core processor, but the tri core seems to out run my quad in certain things, like bootup and over all performance. I am sure I will free up my quad with Windows 7, but if you want to use XP, I suggest a tri core.

great proc.
Pros: Excellent upgrade , EASY to install, works just as expected, I have the B.E. and it overclocks real nice and is stable, Used on my first build and am very satisfied, Free Ship?? HOORAH!!!
Cons: most cons are just that, or locked up.
Other Thoughts: got a GA-MA790X-UD4P M.B. and this is a great combo, room for upgrade and does evrything superbly.

Cons: no free hat! :(
Other Thoughts: current build: MSI-K9 v2 sli mb, 2 xfx 8800 gs, kingston sli 800 mhz ram, 8750 B.E., wd 160 hd, antec 650 tpt psu, 3d mark '06 score- 13077 will post update

Overclocking Simplified
Pros: I purchased the "Black" version of this chip from egg and I must say that I am more than happy w/the stabilized overclockability when combined w/my Biostar 790-128M mobo. Stock it is 2.4G. and I currently have it set at 2.9G (along w/addl. bios adjustments), and it holds steady at only 33C! A 100% cpu load 1/2 hour test, set at my current 2.9G it only runs at 52C! I am unable to unlock the 4th core, yet as smooth and cool as this triple runs at $87 and free shipping who needs it for now. lol.
Cons: Simply put - NONE.
Other Thoughts: Windows XP3, Bio-star 790-128M mobo (wonderfully adj. bios), 2 gigs of G-skill 800, XFX 9500GT, NZXT Apollo case along w/650 watt Corsair power supply.

Pros: Fast, cheap, stable, what more could you ask for?
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Running a Small Business Server mainly used for File Sharing and whatnot. Chugs along just fine

Impressed!
Pros: Hit 3.0GHz out of the box with 0.01v increase to 1.26v. This thing runs cool too, 37C idle and 43C load. My x2 5000+ at 3.15GHz was idling at 43C and load 53C
Cons: Not a quad core and not quite there with intels offering
Other Thoughts: For $140, a tricore phenom at 3.0GHz is a nice upgrade. With a little more work I'm sure I can get to 3.1GHz.

great cpu but.....
Pros: cpu is by far one of the best out there never had an issue with it
Cons: seems to have a great deal of issues with the ASUS M3A32-MVP/WiFi sadly was forced to rma the processor and the board and have to get the quad core but then again it may also be my luck with the asus board.....
Other Thoughts: have used the cpu in other systems as well as mine was very very pleased i firmly beleive this processor should phase out the dual core in a short amount of time and further push amd above intel

Very satisfied
Pros: Used this processor in my first build, which was replacing a seven year old Dell with a 2ghz Pentium 4 (Northwood). Paired this with a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H motherboard and I am extremely happy with my new machine. I am pleased with the performance I get with this processor: it is great to be able to enable active scanning for viruses or adware and not see a massive performance hit, I also don't notice when the scheduled AVG scan starts, something which would bring my old machine to its knees. Highly recommended.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: First ever AMD based machine that I have owned and I really like it. I am using this processor in my critical "get work done" general use machine -- web, writing, photos, e-mail, casual games, skype. Fantastic!

goood cpu
Pros: fast cpu i currently have it oced to 2.7 at 43.c 3 cores seens faster to me than 2 compared to my 5800
Cons: don't use amd overdrive to oc this cpu i could only get it to 2.5 stable then today i read on fudzilla that you have to use the FSB in bios to oc it and it worked i have my FSB at 232 and voltage at 1.232 and hit 2.772 you kind of have to find the sweet spot with your motherboard it took a couple of times to hit my number and have it stable my motherboard is the asus m3a32-mvp deluxe
Other Thoughts: this is a pretty unique idea from amd to use 3 cores instead of 2 or 4 if they actually put R/N/d on these cpu's instesd of using a faulity quad core get the speed's higher in another 5 years these coul replace dualcore procesors altogether
