Quite decent
Pros: Very zippy on applications compared to the previous I***l Celeron D system that I had before. I put it into a Shuttle SK21G and I have to say that it runs very cool, around 30c. I have played lower end games like Warcraft III and The Sims 2 and I feel absolutely no lag along with me Radeon 9800 128 Pro.
Cons: Not a 3400 and came without a bow on the package.
Other Thoughts: Good for what ails ye. I could have done better, but I wasn't looking for the UB3R 1337 gaming machine, so this'll do me for now.

Great CPU and Great Deal
Pros: 64 bit CPU Very good price/performance ratio Excellent upgrade from Athlon XP
Cons: Socket 754 limits upgrade options, i.e. no support for X2 cpus
Other Thoughts: I got this when Newegg included the free motherboard. I chose the NForce 3 250 Biostar. It allowed me to upgrade an ageing Athlon XP Barton system while re-using the AGP card and Ram. A very cheap upgrade that breathed new life into a sluggish system. Great deal Newegg!!!!

Pros: Easiest processor to install yet. Its 64 bit so that will be good for the new windows. And its nice and quick and keeps cooled very well.

Kick Ar$e CPU!
Pros: First off, this CPU glides right in to the MB and the Heat Sink clips right in: Easy to install. If you get the Retail Box with the actual AMD Heat Sink Included, there is fantastic heat transfer between the chip and the heat-sink. Even with the case open, the temp never went above 100º F - Even while doing multiple compression ops and high res imaging rendering functions. Low Heat and there is no stalling during program installations: something that happens often with Celeron and Pentium systems: Sometimes C's and P's "Stall" after a setup routine decompresses the setup files into the temp folder, right before the setup routine initialises. All 32 ops are nice and smooth, can't wait ot see how 64-bit proggys are handled, if these 32-bit pieces of code work this great, then even better for x64.
Cons: Kind of expensive, but even the 754 Semprons are better than any Celeron D for "Dud"- More expensive, but worth it.
Other Thoughts: This was my first 64-bit computer: I chose this Processor and 1 Gig of Kingston ValueRAM to power the MSI MBOX K8MM-V Combo, everything went in like a baby's Byoo-Tox: Used XP x64 edition, and am gonna try Vista x64 for the next one I build. I was told that for 32-bit apps, this configuration would be slow. NOT! It is faster than snot. All of my apps are 32 bit apps except for the IE that comes with XP x64. This thing bench-marked pretty high in Everest, something like 2 gig or above read and write rate, and latency was one of the first 4 lowest results. The few faster Systems were a few dual core Athlons and that 4 gig Pentium EE thing. This is non-overclocked, mind you, can't wait to crank this emeffer up. I am hoping that AMD continues to make Socket 754's for some time to come.

Pros: Terrific speed for the price, my socket 939 version runs at 2.4GHz, wish the mobo this one is in had voltage/fsb settings in BIOS
Cons: (Common to all socket 754s) no dual channel memory support, for what it's worth

Rock-n-Roll
Pros: Nice chip. Runs everything nicely. Keeps up with my 3700. Nice price for a full-function cpu.
Cons: HS/Fan seems a tad on the wimpy side. My Alpha beat it up and tooks it's lunch money then gave it a wedgie.
Other Thoughts: 3200+ cpu drops to 10 bucks less than this 3000 the day after I purchased it (for my nephew's pc)

Works Great!
Pros: Works well, easy install.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I went from a Semperon 2600 to this chip. It is faster but not as much as I had hoped.

Very Cool...
Pros: Very Cool running. I haven't OC'd as of yet, but as it's not my gaming PC, I see no reason. It is running F@H (50%)and SETI/Einstein (25%/25%) 24/7 since building, and hasn't missed a step.
Cons: None...wish I had this Venice die rev. when the socket 754's came out...
Other Thoughts: I mounted this in an Asus K8N-E mobo with Stock HSF in a Generic case with good air circulation. In a 24C ambient room, Temps are 29C MB, 44C @ Full Load, Stock fan @ 1500RPM

The Good Chip
Pros: As you can see by all the positive reviews that this chip works well. My story is no exception. I have been running this chip since January in a music production setting. I upgraded from an Athalon 1.3G from 2000 and a K6/2 before that. As you can see I like AMD chips. They are stable and reliable. The Venice has brought me joy from the first I fired it up.
Cons: None so far. Was more expensive at the time I made my purchase.
Other Thoughts: Asus K8N, Cooler Master Centurian 5 w/ 1Gb Patriot DDR ram. Dual monitors, Echo Layla sound card, DVD-R, CR-R, 20 in one Card Reader. 320Gb and 80Gb WD Caviar SE SATA.

Update
Pros: Very nice chip
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Make sure to upgrade to the May 2006 Athlon 64 device driver for XP that you can download from the AMD site. It made a significant improvement in my chip's performance. If you don't know how to overclock, this is a good way to tweak your system's performance.

Best Overclocker
Pros: This cpu overclocks so easy. Brings new life to the socket 754.
Cons: Not compatible with all motherboards. Check your board first.
Other Thoughts: I overclocked this chip to 2.4Ghz with the stock heat/sink with no problems. I know it will go higher, some have gone upto 2.7Ghz. This is like buying an athlon 64 3800 for a fraction of the cost.

Good Deal
Pros: I got this processor because it was pretty cheap and I already had a 1.8ghz that I liked. So I stuck the 2.0ghz in my main computer and the 1.8ghz went in the backup. Everything works great.
Cons: none that I can see.
Other Thoughts: At first I was wondering if this thing was gunna work lol. To my supprise everything was a success. I luv NewEgg!

Nice Processor
Pros: Fast, AMD brand, normal computer use doesn't phase it. The CPU is definitely not the bottleneck any longer.
Cons: Not dual core? 64bit driver support is still limited...
Other Thoughts: AMD forever!

Very Fast
Pros: The chip is very fast. With 2GB of memory in the motherboard, it zips through the internet and programs without any hesitation.
Cons: AMD quality is not as good as Intel. I never had an Intel CPU going bad, but I have experienced two AMD failures. Both occurred after the three year warranty.

it's worth it
Pros: its runs adobe photoshop like a toy, with only 256mb of ram!!(pc2100) and i can still multitask while running it! dam now i know why my friend said amd is better than intel even if intel's clock speed is faster and the processors cheap (i guess there cheat since they know they don't really performe the way AMD DOES!!!!!!at lower clock speeds
Cons: i didn't know this socket was going out and didn't save more $ to get 93? other than that no problem
Other Thoughts: i thought the system was default yet i noticed it was the ram thats why i couldn't run xp so i need to get new ram cuz al i did was change it from the socket and it started working, or could it have been the socket? idk

good proc!
Pros: 3000+ Venice 754 (2.0Ghz default @ 270x10)
got mine up to 2.7Ghz (270x10) at 1.6V
idle @30degC mid @40degC high @50degC
I'm expecting these results to DROP as the summer heat and humidity set in, (Pennsylvania USA)...
Using on an Epox 8NPA-SLi board with 2x1GB Patriot RAM 1T 2.4,4,6,3 Trc 7T at 225Mhz
Good 'clocker for the moolah...
Cons: can't up the multi ;)
is there a secret BIOS to up V?... if so H2O and high cpuV would rock.. Much thermal headroom to this chip.
Other Thoughts: socket 745 last stand?

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
Pros: This is my second AMD Athlon cpu...The first one died on me with a new mobo...But nonetheless, so far it's been excellent...
Cons: None yet....
Other Thoughts: This is a socket 754 cpu...It's going to be out dated probably in a few years, if it isn't already, however I do highly recommend this cpu!!

Great for Over Clocking!
Pros: Fast, quick, and cool. Overclocked to 2.5 right out of the box @ 41c under load. Ordered it thursday and received it tuesday, way to go Fed-Ex. Newegg processing was great, shipped 3 hours after I ordered it.
Cons: It's a 754 so it has the dual channel memory limitation, but it's not the cpu's fault.
Other Thoughts: Runs smooth on an Asus K8N, 250 x 10, HT x3, and 1 gig memory running at 208mhz This was an upgrade from a sempron 2600+ and the difference is huge! Runs 2 instances of an MMO, firefox, winamp, messanger, and all the usual start up programs without skipping a beat, all on stock cooling. And at this price, can you really say no?

Sweet!
Pros: Easy install. Cool and easy to o/c. Running at 37c with stock cooling.
Cons: Socket 754 (Whaah!)
Other Thoughts: If you're stuck with a 754 mobo like me, then get this cpu. Otherwise, sc the mobo and go with a 939. At least you can get dual channel and pci-e.

Awesome Value, Extremely Overclockable
Pros: Extremely Overclockable. Currently 2700MHz at 1.63v. Will do a little higher, but not worth slowing down the memory, since my HTT caps at 300MHz. Still runs pretty cool, but I wish I could get CnQ to work without locking up at this setting.
Cons: Still runs pretty cool (40's C), but I wish I could get CnQ to work without locking up at this setting.
Other Thoughts: Not all that much different than my Sempron 3000+ at same clock speed.

Great
Pros: works excellent for gaming and runs cool at 30 celcius. comes with 512mb L2 cache which is nice. Processor can easily go to 2.4 ghz overclocked with a better heatsink
Cons: the heatsink/fan had a cheap tightening knob and was basically annoying.

Good Value!
Pros: Best value CPU, best bang for your buck. Works flawlessly, speedy quick! Super easy to install.
Cons: Non, except they are a pain to take off...(at least my previous sempron was)
Other Thoughts: used this CPU to replace my Sempron 2600, and to Oblivionify my computer. it does it well, up to reccomended performance.

Great Value
Pros: Went to 2.3 ghz right out of the box on stock cooler and volts at 32c. +5c playing BF2 for hours. Saved myself $50 over a 3200+ and sse3 instructions to boot. CPU-Z shows just what is advertised.
Cons: Hate UPS, just too cheap to pass up.

Great Chip, Rock Solid
Pros: This is a great chip, stays crunchy even in milk. Oc'ed to 2.4 ghz with stock cooling - runs stable, not a hitch. Gives me a CPU score on Aquamark3 of 10,113. Not too bad if you ask me. I LURV this chip! Would I buy another one? You betcha!
Cons: No cons whatsoever
Other Thoughts: AMD is the best and so are their CPUs.

So far so good
Pros: E6 Stepping,800Mhz FSB, Overclockable, I through some Arctic Silver 5 on this chip and installed it.Idle Temps are from 28C to 33C.
Cons: Despite it being an AMD and having a higher FSB/L1 Cache, my 4 year old Intel Pentium 4 Northwood (socket 478/300MHZ FSB)is evenly matched with this CPU(Performace Wise) unless this CPU is overclocked.
Other Thoughts: Other than that this is a good alternative for some one coming off of a Packard H*ll(Like I did), without spending the extra $5X.xx+ for a good socket 939 Cpu.

Best A64 for overclocking on socket 754
Pros: Venice core, E6 memory controller, runs cool, low voltage, easy to overclock on stock cooling.
Cons: 512kB L2 cache, single channel memory controller, socket 754 doesn't provide the performance of socket 939.
Other Thoughts: This is an awesome chip for overclocking, and overall I can't say enough good things about it. I have mine overclocked to 2.4GHz 1.45v: temps are 30c idle 40c load on stock cooling, could easily hit 2.7GHz with watercooling. If you are building a new socket 754 system, or upgrading from a Sempron, and want to overclock and save money, this is THE chip to get. The bang for the buck on this chip is unbelievable. It has the latest revision memory controller and instruction set. No need for any aftermarket cooling, saving you even more money. Pay the price of a 3000+ but get the performance of a 3800+.

Awesome CPU!!
Pros: This is one cool and super nice CPU! This thing overclocked to 2.74ghz on the stock heatsink and Prime95 stable.. a beast!!! Very stable and fast, all my games are so smooth and the PC is very fast and responsive while doing heavy multi-tasking.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Took 1.65v to get her Prime95 stable but she idles around 38-41c and does 56c under full load running Prime torture test.

Other Thoughts: Me and a couple friends purchased these to replace our old New Castle core cpus and they didn't dissapoint, the lowest one of the group clocked to 2.4ghz no problem and I was able to get mine up to 2.65 stable, that's darn impressive for air cooling, as always great service from newegg.

A very nice cpu
Pros: Excellent horsepower to handle whatever I ask of it. I believe this is the best of the 754 cpus, and an inexpensive way to upgrade from an older system.
Cons: You can find faster processors, but they're much more expenisve. I have no criticism of this cpu.
Other Thoughts: I upgrade about every 4 years, just when the technology is about to be replaced, so it's cheap, and get the best of what's been developed. I'm using this on an Abit KV-85 board which found it with no problem, and the performance diagnostics that came with Norton Utilities show the cpu consistently performs in the 90+ percentile across various tasks.

Great CPU
Pros: I bought this CPU for my new barebones system (Asus Pundit P2-AE2). My old system uses a 1.1GHz AMD Duron CPU, so this was a huge step up in performance for me. No problems with the CPU at all. Just plugged it in, and it worked. I have always liked AMD products, they execute faster and cooler than most similar Intel CPUs. This Venice core AMD CPU is 90nm and runs at only ~55W.
Cons: None.

great CPU
Pros: great price, great shipping - good condition, good stock fan
Cons: not exactly cheap
Other Thoughts: sure they make cheaper CPUs, but this is fast, and high quality. I have heard that most stock fans are not very good, but this one comes with a very good one, so no need to buy another unless you plan on overclocking quite a bit.

King of 754
Pros: Mine overclocks to 2.7 with absolutely no problems, and the CPU isn't the limiting factor its the shoddy chipset on my motherboard. I'm sure I can take this one much further when I get a better mobo. Besides that, hasn't died on me yet, got it refurb but it works fantastic, I pity the sucker who returned this.
Cons: 754 doesn't have dual-channel, but anyone purchasing this should know that, and its not too much of a detriment anyways, just something that might be a little nicer.
Other Thoughts: For the price it ABSOLUTELY can't be beat.

AMD rocks.
Pros: Awesome for medium gaming rig. Stock cooler keeps mine at ~20C at idle, 35C MAX after hours of gaming.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Coupled with Asus K8N-VM Mobo, 1.5 GB corsair value select RAM, eVGA 6800GS. This processor will last a long time.

Good, cheap processor
Pros: Just as expected, AMD delivered superior quality. I went the Intel way for a while, but for gaming (on the budget), AMD is the way. I am a college student, that can't afford to fork a lot of money for hardware upgrades, but for waht it is, this Athlon rocks. It plays Half Life 2 maxed out like a dream, Quake 4, and AOE3.
Cons: None thus far.
Other Thoughts: My system configuration is: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Gigabyte GA-K8U MoBo 1 Gb Corsair Ram (soon 2 b upgraded) Nvidia 5200Fx vid card

Good Budget CPU
Pros: Affordability and overclockability. I built two systems within the last month with this processor; one system I left running at stock speeds (for a relative), and the one I built for my son is running at 2.5GHz on stock heatsink/fan. Stable on all games and 3DMark05; idles at around 40C, load temps are around 47C-48C.
Cons: there are no cons - if you want a better processor, you spend more money.
Other Thoughts: I purchased one of the first 754 pin Athlon64s (130nm process?) over three years ago; the best overclocking I could do with that was to squeeze an extra 200MHz out of it. I'm mildly surprised at the overclockablily of the 90nm process.

plays nice
Pros: 1. Cheap 2. Runs 2.4 Ghz on Zalman air easy, little to no increase in temp (~39C) @1.4V 3. Requires less juice than the Newcastle that I passed down to little sis. 4. CPU Benchmark scores in Sisoft over an FX-53, nearly FX-55.
Cons: none

AMD 754 venice
Pros: It is an outstanding cpu for the money, it is perceptively faster than the 3000+ Barton it replaced. It keeps awesome temps too, and is fast and reliable like alll the other AMD cpus I have installed on the machines I have built. For $xxx it is a great deal, especially with the 3 year warranty. Beats teh hell out of the oem's who want to charge in excess of $xxx or more dollars to extend a warranty to 2 year lol And the 3 year being included in the price just makes it outstanding.
Cons: I truly cannot say there are any cons to any of the AMD processors I have used in the systems I have built.
Other Thoughts: Athlon64 line of cpus are outstanding, the xp barton was good too as well as the thorougbred. I don't overclock as a norm, but the athlon64 definitely overclocks better than the Barton. A great line of cpus. The Turion is a good cpu too, I have used the ML-28 and the ML-32 currently.

WOWSER!!!!!
Pros: Great Price, Venice Core, 2Ghz compared to the 1.8 for S939 which is also more expensive. Has E6. Overclocks nicely. Runs cool thanks to Venice core. A very happy camper.
Cons: None really, because i already knew it was S754 and thats what I needed.
Other Thoughts: Paired with a ASUS K8N OC'ed @ 2.5ghz. And Arctic Silver 5 with a Zalman CNPS-Cu cooler. Runs cool at 35 degrees. It wouldnt OC on my ASUS board through BIOS but with Clockgen I got it up to 2.5 w/o voltage increae. That was probably because my PSU is garbage. Getting a new one soon off Newegg of course. Probably could OC higher :D if I increase voltage.

Nice Chip
Pros: This chip is awesome for low budget systems. I can't believe how much faster my system is. I would go with the 939 chip and board now though.
Cons: not a lot of boards or options on the existing boards
Other Thoughts: Newegg is awesome. Lowest prices I have found. Great customer support. The online chat help is an eggcellent feature for quick help. But it isn't available 24/7. Need to bring back the free shipping. I miss those days.

Best 754
Pros: This Thing completely out did my old Atholon 64 +3000 754 by a long shot this 754 runs and overclocks just like the 939 but I don't have good ram so I can only get it to 2.5 but I have so CORSAIR's on there way so I can't wait to see the full extant of this baby
Cons: There realy is no cos about this por.
Other Thoughts: The thing you need to look for is a borad that supports E6 steping because I put in a board that dosen't and had nothen but problems but now this thing rocks my socks

Excellent Processor
Pros: Speedy Processor, Faster than any 2.6-3.5ghz Intel. 20-30second Boot Time. Just as fast as its 939 counterpart. Also very cool. 24C under load and 19c idle, using stock HS.
Cons: only downside is that its socket is going out the door like socket A is...
Other Thoughts: Pair it with a bit of ram for best performance. Use the newest tochnology to get the most out of this power-packed processor.

Thank the Lord for this one
Pros: Low power requirements, (running at 1.35 vcore) Temps run 30 to 33c for the cpu and 31 to 33c for the mobo. Overclocking this cpu (not me) gets high #s and a low cpu temp, I put this cpu with a DFI lanparty ut nf3250 gb and its a match made in heaven. Put this in easy terms? JUST BUY IT!!!!
Cons: NONE for the retail cpu, but I never got the New Egg Sticker, yes I am crying, whinning and having a fit.
Other Thoughts: YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY TO BUY THIS ONE!!!!

Don't have it yet
Pros: I haven't bought this yet because I wanted to go with the 939 Venice 3000, But if I remember right the OF of the 939 is 1.8 and the 754 is 2.0. the FSB of the 754 is 800 and a 939 is 1000. So either a less OF or less FSB. I think I'll go with 754 mainly because of the price diffrence of the 754 and 939.
Cons: wouldn't know

Awesome CPU
Pros: Fast! Matched with a Asus K8N mobo. Runs cold with stock heatsink and fan. Temps at normal load: CPU 28c/82f Mobo 26c/78f Vcore is at 1.4 Best BANG for the buck
Cons: None!
Other Thoughts: At the moment im running the junkiest ram (3 256mb generic 2700) I can tell my bottleneck is the memory, so I will upgrade to nice new 2gb kit from kingston or corsair.

Good
Pros: Great overclocker, got it to 2.4 with no real rise in temp.
Cons: Stability was kinda flaky, ran better overclocked than at default settings. Think it might have been the board. Waiting on replacement board.
Other Thoughts: AMD has awsome support. Called about the stability problems, and thet promply gave me RMA and said that i will get an upgrade at no extra cost because they are out of these, Highly recomended!!!

Outstanding choice for socket 754
Pros: I puchased this chip for a 754 system I was building based on my prior overclocking experience with venice cores on the 939 platform. I was not dissapointed. The chip is prime stable at 2.7Ghz @ 1.62vcore on my DFI UT 250GB. Great overclocker that runs nice and cool and sports the E6 memory controller as a bonus.
Cons: Nada
Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a cheap overclocker on the socket 754 platform you really only have 3 choices, newark core (expensive and not so easy to find), the mobile DTR's (naked so require bolt through cooling), or these venices...IMHO the venice wins hands down, cheap, and requires no special handling.

Can't Believe How High It Goes
Pros: I'm at [censor]MHz on air. The bad thing is I have Value Select RAM (DDR400). If I had some high octane RAM this thing would be over [censor]GHz easy. I got pictures of it... goto planet amd 64 and search for "LOOOOOL TY FOR VENICE ON S754", yeh I was excited.
Cons: None...
Other Thoughts: Only RAM can hold this chip back.

Fantastic chip!!
Pros: This is the third PC that I've built using a venice core A64. The venice with it's big brother San Diego are simply the best processors you can put in a desktop barring the more expensive X2 and FX chips. It overclocks nicely and is not a power hog. I build a cheap PC for my sister with this chip and it blows the doors off my very expensive work PC with the Pentium D chip and intel chipset for about a third of the price.
I won't put anything but AMD chips in any PC I build or upgrade.
Cons: Makes Intel look like a bunch of losers ;)

Pros: GREAT, I mean intel cant make a cpu that will touch this, unless you want to spend 300 bucks, lol put this cpu in a biostar tforce 6100 mobo for the ultimate buget gaming system
Cons: socket 754, but who cares

Cool running
Pros: Upgraded a system with a P4/2.66 proc and Gigabyte SINX1394 mobo with ATI 9700PRO card. NewEgg provided a low-cost ABIT NV8 mobo, PNY 6800GS and the Venice core Athlon64 3000+. Nice performance improvement in COD2 goes without saying... runs great with all the eye candy stuff up all the way and looks GOOD. Most importantly, though, the Venice 3000+ runs incredibly cool. At idle, it's at 27C in my Antec full tower and case fans turned down half way for quietude; with the Sandra burn-in routine I cannot get it higher than 35C with the stock HSF. COD2 doesn't get it up that far. The 90nm Venice core beats the old Newcastles still in the supply chain.
Cons: None at all for the CPU. Could have chosen a better mobo than the NV8, I suppose, but this is a very nice 'bargain' CPU that will keep a casual gamer on a budget way too happy. Thanks AMD... you too, NewEgg.

Nice upgrade if you already own a good quality 754 board and low-end CPU
Pros: Venice core, overclocks well, adds a little extra life to my DFI LanParty 250GB
Cons: Like LoneRanger, I too had problems with crushed packing material inside the box...very suprising. Since I already have a Zalman CuAl, I just cleaned the heat spreader but I was disappointed in the mess of green material all over the inside of the box. There was no evidence of damage to box leading me to believe it happened during packaging. Quality control issue @ AMD???
Other Thoughts: Running @ 2.5Ghz without a hitch and not a single BIOS adjustment other than slowing memory down to 333 and cranking FSB up to 250. Runs < 1.38 volts. I'm sure I could push further but there really is no point other than bragging rights.

S754 Sleeper CPU
Pros: Excellent performance to price ratio. Product received on time. Massive overclock potential. Low heat production(idle & load). Quiet fan. Easy installation.
Cons: AMD factory packaging is subpar. AMD "thermal pad" and heatspreader contaminated with factory packaging particles. Price dropped three dollars after purchase.
Other Thoughts: I purchased this CPU for a Biostar K8NHA-Grand motherboard I had been given. I am currently overclocking(25%)this CPU to 2.5GHz, using a 3% over-volt; until I reached my motherboard's HTT bus BIOS limit of 250MHz. This gives me a AMD PR rating of FX-55. I am sure this processor can do more. I would take an educated guess of a 33% or better overclock. Temperatures are ~27c(idle) & 41c(load). The AMD factory, internal packaging seems to be and issue. Whether the damage ocurrs when shipped from AMD or somewhere in-between being stocked by Newegg, expect some damage to occur from the subpar material. However, the components(CPU, heatsink, & fan) should be fine. Be warned though, I would highly suggest you inspect the CPU heatspreader & thermal pad for contamination by packaging particles and clean if neccessary. Most hardcore builders will wipe the pad off anyway and apply a high quality compound. I did not, as I am still "out of the box" with this build.

Works great at work
Pros: I was finally able to convince my boss that my old P3 866 system needed to go to pasture. I was a little leery about building a business PC using an Athlon64, but I have one @ home and it's been great. Needless to say, this one runs circles around my old system. I also LOVE the retail HS/F - it's so much quieter than the S478 P4 HS/F combo.
Cons: If I were building this for myself, I would have gone with the S939 instead of the S754. But, considering the upgrade cycle at my work is once per decade, that difference won't matter.
Other Thoughts: It's tough for this former Intel fanboy to admit it - but the Athlon64 is where it's at.

Thoroughly pleased!!! 5 Eggs!!!
Pros: 90nm means less heat, lower power requirement (51w). Perfect for compact microATX system. With stock HSF it idles at 27C and has stayed at 32C under full load. Performance is quite snappy. I see almost no difference between this CPU and my year old socket 939 3500+ Newcastle. This chip should easily overclock. Excellent value!
Cons: None performance-wise. . . AMD's inner packaging sucks. My unit was packed well by NewEgg. . . when I removed the AMD packaged box from the shipping box something was rattling inside. The green tub that the Heatsink/Fan was supposed to be secured in was completely demolished. Literally reduced to powder! Amazingly the hardware wasn't damaged. I blame AMD for this, as the outter packaging NewEgg shipped in was in pristine condition.
Other Thoughts: Don't be alarmed if the lever on the heatsink looks different than what is in the supplied documentation. AMD changed the design, eliminating the latch on the end of the lever. When you rotate the latch to 90 degrees to the right, it will securely hold the HSF.

Great cpu
Pros: Quick, easy installation. Smoothly runs multiple programs
Cons: -
Other Thoughts: Purchased this for the first system I've completely assembled myself, and it's worked beautifully from day 1. Can easily run multiple programs and tab thru them with no hang-up. Haven't utilized the 64-bit capabilities yet, so I can't comment on that, but everything else about the cpu has been perfect. I really liked the thermal pad on the heatsink. I was worried about corectly applying the thermal grease, but instead the fan/heatsink had a "thermal pad" pre-applied that made installation of heatsink assembly a breeze.

What a OCer
Pros: What a great OCer. Got to 3Ghz with a Tforce6100 and wow this is on air. What more can I say this is the bomb. This is my FX-59 now. =P Ma hahahaha...
Cons: Are you kidding?
Other Thoughts: This is a venice just like the ones on 939's. Its perfect. It can take volts and OC like a dream. Better then my sempron OC big time from 2.4ghz with my sempron to a jump from a athlon 64 at 3ghz. I won't need a new cpu again. Plus it doesn't even run that hot overclocked with the right heatsink fan. Normaly it runs at 25C 30C full load stock. OCed to 50C at 3ghz.

Killer deal
Pros: Runs very cool, very fast, easily overclocked
Cons: none that matter for the price
Other Thoughts: With the Venice core, it runs at 33 degrees celcius when under a heavy load, with only the stock fan and heatsink! Really easy to overclock and stable at 2.16GHz easily.

Pros: Overall... excellent processor..easily OC'd
Cons: Uh... none, at this point...
Other Thoughts: Excellent processor for the S754 platform... dropped right in replacing a Semp 2800 running at 250 FSB... my NF250 picked it up without a problem (..other than having to reset the BIOS and up the FSB..), but absolutely no problems...
NewEgg is great!!! If you can afford the extra two dollars, go with FedEx.. I've tried both and FedEx ususally gets my parts here a day earlier than expected and the box isn't all bashed up... this one came from NJ to OR in three days without a problem....

I love this cpu
Pros: Great chip, low power, very cool, I replaced the 'stock' thermal compound with artic silver, and because of the proximity of my psu (dual fan) to the cpu fan I could probabbly go entirely passively cooled. very cool, I'm currently running at 27c at idle, and around 34-35c under load. with a 1500 rpm speed on the fan.
Cons: socket 754 has no upgrade path (unless you buy an asrock dual socket board) this is only a con for some people though.
Other Thoughts: With chips that run this cool available why do motherboard vendors insist on having a cpu fan installed?

Great
Pros: Excellent for the price. This little chip clips along a screaming pace. It outperforms a Pentium IV 3.2GHz/3.4GHz with no problems.
Cons: 512kb L2 cache... not really noticeable between this version and the socket 939 version... but still.
Other Thoughts: This chip is great. I get 30-40 FPS in F.E.A.R. My system is as follows:
BIOSTAR TForce6100 Socket 754 NVIDIA GeForce 6100 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice 800MHz FSB 512KB L2 cache socket 754
WINTEC AMPO 1GB DDR 400
SAPPHIRE Radeon X1600PRO 128MB
Western Digital Caviar SE 80GB 7200 RPM
With this equipment I can play F.E.A.R. with all medium/high settings.

Great Performance/Price Ratio
Pros: Much faster than my old P 4 1.6 GHZ.. Runs much cooler (38C per my case's temp display under the H/S) and simple to install (my first build from scratch)
Cons: only complaint is that socket 754 doesn't support dual-channel memory... should've saved and gone 939
Other Thoughts: was alot cheaper, at least xx bucks between mobo+cpu over socket 939

Pros: Asus A8n-sli mb= OC to 2.8 stable. I could go higher, but my mb won't supply the voltage. Running 2G OCZ at DDR333 = 440Mhz. Temp under full load 42 with Thermaltake CL-P0114 120mm Cooling Fan/Heatsink. 31 at idle. My processor runs cooler than my mb. Got it in 3 days, newegg rocks!
Cons: very affordable processing power, now my friends can get one!

WoW(not the game Either
Pros: This processor is amazing.I got it and imediatly pushed it to its limits. I was able to get 1.5 ghz stable on it with stock cooling and could get 1.7 with an added fan. I can do super pi in about 35 seconds wich really isnt bad for how cheap this processor is.I can ussually run it with temps like 26 c - 29 c great choice for budgeted gamer.Btw - out performs almost all my friends processors even some of the 200.00 ones
Cons: shipping. took forever. If i could go back in time i woulda paid the extra money for fedex!
Other Thoughts: Buy it and you wont regret it!

Pros: Runs fast and cool, inexpencive, overall a great processor. Idle temp is ~27C under full load it peaks at 31C
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Very strong CPU, even though the socket 754 is oudated, I would buy this chip again and again.
