Nice CPU
Pros: Cheap dual core cpu that runs cool! AMD has some nice utilities on their website, check them out.Heatsink easy to install,no more using screw drivers!
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Stock HS & Fan works just fine on it's own,no upgrading needed.
800 mhz memory will only run at 700 something mhz with this cpu.

Go job AMD
Pros: Great cpu for under 90$ bucks you get a 2.5ghz dual core processor. Great performens and a desent heatsink and fan the fan is a 4 pin but will work with a normal 3 pin plug on the motherboard. For any one building a new computer or for any one wanting to get more power and can't aford the new quad cores I highly recommend this cpu with out any hesitation. NEWEGG RULES!!!
Cons: the stock heatsink and fan is not the best but adiquite.
Other Thoughts: A comparible intel costs 3 times as much so this is a great bargin. So buy it already.

AMD Processors are great
Pros: It's AMD. Have never had a problem with AMD Processors. Fast, overclockable, runs cool, and reliable. I got it at NEWEGG.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I've been building systems for years. The first system I bought was a Pentium 100. It ran hot, had errors, and rebooted alot with windows 3.11. Bought a AMD 233 and no problems on same system. Even used same heatsink/fan. Ran cooler and no errors or rebooting. Have been buying and building with AMD since. NEWEGG is by far the fastest, cheapest(cost wise), and most reliable internet source on this planet.

Pros: I've noticed a big difference after upgrading from an Athlon XP 2400+. I can actually watch HDTV on my computer now and it only requires about 40% of one core (2% to record).
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Haven't tried OC'ing yet...

I like it
Pros: Fast,my pc never lags, cheap and its a dual core
Cons: It's hard for me to find a con because my last pc had an old Pentium 3 900mhz.
Other Thoughts: with the sudden price drops, it's easy to justify going for something higher like the 6400+. I'm an AMD fan from experiences with a friends old 939 rig, I would stay away from the phenom for now until things get worked out for it.

Good Multi-tasking processor
Pros: Runs all my apps very well. Plays Blu-Ray and HD movies without missing a beat. With C'n'Q enabled it works at 50 to 60% @ 1.8Ghz. Pretty good. Earlier had a X2 3800 that was working hard at 70%.
Cons: Temp. sensors are broken. Shows idle core temperature as 4C and 2C. Load as 13C and 10C when both cores stressed. Impossible with room temp around 28C.
Other Thoughts: Wanted to exchange this proc because of the broken temp sensor. But this sucker overclocked to 3.1 on a ECS 6100SM-M board with just .05 increase in VCore. So if I have a good board this will definetely go more than 3.3G. Current setup X2 4800 + ECS Nforce6M-A + Corsair XMS 6400 2Gig+ LG Blu-ray+HD-DVD rom + etc etc.

Awesome
Pros: What can I say, it's AMD it's dual core, it's 2.5 Ghz. Being used for home music recording and I have Session up to 8 + tracks and not a burp.
Cons: None that I can think of.

Important Info
Pros: This processor is great, fast, and cheap. but ive already written a review about the pros and cons.
Cons: see other thoughts....
Other Thoughts: The temperature sensors on many of the 4800's are out of whack. Even on most of the brisbane cores. For instance, SpeedFan shows my processor running and 3C right now...not possible w/ stock HSF. I have even seen temps as low as 1C w/ speedfan and core temp. Just a warning for those of you that have crazy temp readings.

okayish
Pros: dual core 2.5 mhz for 100 bux. fits in cheap AM2 mobos. fan is quiet and temp seems okay.
Cons: didnt see big jump from athlon xp 3200 socket A. it is faster, and things get done quicker. just was expecting more i guess.
Other Thoughts: the mobo i picked doesnt overclock. not that i overclock anyway. so i cant really push this proc.
over all i dont regret picking this particular processor. it was a good value and has potential in a better mobo later on.

Nice Processor Low Power
Pros: Worked great. Fast and only 65W. Very easy to install in mother board. Comes as complete kit with heat sink. Worked well for me.
Cons: None I could find.
Other Thoughts: I think AMD makes one or two faster models that are still 65W -- might be worth looking at those also.

Great Value
Pros: Absolutely no problems with install. I'm not an overclocker so it seems plenty fast for me. No heat issues 28 degrees at idle 47 degrees under full load with stock hs.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Newegg has been great at getting the orders out and to my door a lot faster than the 3-5 days standard shipping. Thanks, Newegg this processor is a great value for average user.

A must buy
Pros: I did some research on the Brisbane, and it's designed to run cool. They weren't kidding. It ran insanely cooler than my old pentium IV HT. Plus, it's very very fast. It's an awesome processor.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Easy installation

Great CPU
Pros: Great performance for the price. Overclocks well. I have it running at a stable 2.92 ghz (12 x 243) at 1.4v with the stock fan/heatsink.
Cons: A bigger cache would be nice, but haven't run into any problems.
Other Thoughts: Overall a great CPU!

love it
Pros: Low power consumption, runs nice and cool with stock fan (29 c, but I only use it for Vista MC)... Great price. First AMD chip and I'm quite happy with it
Cons: Honestly can't think of one.

Pros: This is a very nice processor on the cheap. I got it overclocked to 3.0Ghz at stock voltage. It runs no more than 50 degrees celcius w/ stock heatsink and fan.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: AMD 64 X2 4800+, ASUS M2NBP-VM CSM, Transcend 2GB DDR2 800, BFG 8800GT(in the mail) great system on the cheap!

Bang for the buck
Pros: Overclocks nicely. I've had it from 2.5 up to 3.1 so far with about a 40 C temperature max at idle. I haven't pushed it much farther as of yet and my memory is still only at the default clock under stock cooling and an 80mm case fan.
Cons: Needs a bigger L2 cache. Still doesn't run some games as smoothly as it could with the 2G of 800MHz RAM and 7600GT PCI-Ex16 card I have.
Other Thoughts: These processors need a 1M L2 cache, or better even with the onboard memory control, but are hard to beat for their price. I could easily have a 3.2+ GHz processor for under $100 with stock cooling.

Great CPU
Pros: Runs much cooler than my Socket 754 Athlon 64 3400+ or socket 939 Athlon 64 X2 4200+ at idle or at full load about 25 degrees cooler. It is more powerful than both of the previous CPU's put together.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Thanks to Newegg I could afford this CPU

Completely Silent!
Pros: Completely silent operation! Under XP Pro, doing business applications, the processor is sufficiently cool to allow the heat sink fan to spin gently and quietly!
Cons: None so far!
Other Thoughts: I got this processor as part of a system upgrade. I got it for its low energy consumption, and got a bonus feature of completely silent operation!

Works
Pros: Was easy to install. Fan is quite.
Cons: Have to use fan & heat sink that comes with CPU otherwise you void warranty.
Other Thoughts: 16c idle temp. Fan speed 1150. I ran CPU test. Both cores at 100% for 15 minutes. 41c temp. Fan speed 2385. No temp increase during the last 10 minutes of the test. After test, temp and fan speed back to idle readings in less than a minute. I used Hot CPU Tester PRO 4 lite version.

VERY NICE
Pros: Great CPU stock fans are quiet and work well. Im still planning on purchasing others before overclocking.
Cons: Stock fan is nice for coming with it but when trying to overclock it gets hot even in Raidmax Smilodon case with 6 fans.
Other Thoughts: Very good for the cheap price

ITS LIKE LOVE
Pros: i have this puppy runnin at 2.825 mhz and my temp's only 34*C. i guess i should add that i have a crummy case and crummier fans. i wouldn't be afraid to OC this bad boy over 3mhz. once i get my new case and 200 mm fan, 2x 140 mm fans, and 2x 120 mm fans, i play to test this baby to its fullest
Cons: none. its cheap. its well built. its fast. its AMD BABY!!!
Other Thoughts: i have noticed several times recently(i've had it for 4 months or so) that the cpu fan that comes in-box had for no reason just stopped running. could be bios not registering properly, but could be just my bad for running s stock fan :D

I'm an AMD fan
Pros: I like the underdog.
AMD isn't making the fastest chips right now, but at price/value, it's still a great option. This one hit 3.1Ghz on stock voltage and air on a cheap motherboard.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: There are faster low end Intel's, true, but they're a little more money. If you're shaving a few bucks here, a few more there on a system build, AMD comes up as a great option.
If you're overclocking this one, I think you can expect 3.0 Ghz (there are no guarantee's you know) - this chip reached 3.2 Ghz with a minor voltage bump using a Rosewill Z1 HSF.
Never has gone beyond 45 degrees C, under full load for two hours, 78F room temp.
At 3.0 Ghz, Sandra XII rates this at 21600 MIPS, 17800 MFlops.

Awesome!!
Pros: This processor is awesome. Runs very stable and very cool. Somehow mine idles at 6-10C... which is amazing. Great buy for under $100, I much prefer this CPU to my i**** 6600.
Cons: ****Emptiness****
Other Thoughts: I wonder if my CPU would freeze if i got an after market cooler.... :/

Great low power htpc
Pros: Overclocks 10% with SPD voltage. Haven't tried higher voltages because this is for a HTPC and don't need the extra heat.
Great CPU for the price.
Cons: The heat sink is a little wimpy if you are going to OC it.

AM2 is NOT Socket 939!
Pros: Probably a smoking chip!
Cons: Since this is a socket AM2 chip, it will *not* work in a socket 939 motherboard. My motherboard said it would take the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+. Who knew they made a socket 939 AND an AM2 style? Yes, I noobed it; don't make the same mistakes I have!

great cpu
Pros: great cpu for the money. Overclocks like a champ.
Cons: none really. Runs good
Other Thoughts: If you're going to overclock it make sure you get a better cpu cooler. The stock one isn't that great. If you've got an extra $30, go for the 5600.

Fantastic, Low Power CPU
Pros: Shockingly low power consumption -- allows me to run my system on less than 275W with fantastic performance. Very cool -- at 30-32C in Micro ATX Case with stock cooler.
Cons: Stock fan a little noisy, but that's an easy fix.
Other Thoughts: With a PNY GeForce 8400GS card and a little bit of over clocking, I can run LOTRO at Very High graphics with little to no lag. All on 275 W!! Amazing!

FAST!
Pros: Super fast chip! I've been able to run multiple programs with no lag or sluggish behavior whatsoever. Data transfer is phenomenal! My graphics in multimedia and games are fast and do not hesitate at all.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: I definitely recommend this chip for anyone that desires a fast and reliable system.

not a great overclocker
Pros: Works good with cooler comes together. The temperature is about 29C in idle, but could get as high as 50 when busy. Dual core runs OK, except I couldn't get MATLAB 7.4 (2007a) to run in parallel (without the distribution computing).
Cons: It a bit hotter than Exxxx series. And I had a hard time to overclock it. I could only get about 225 MHz*12.5, and is not very stable. But this might be limited by my motherboard (abit an-m2).
Other Thoughts: If you want a dual-core CPU and not a lot hard-core computing, the competitive price make this a really good buy.

Fast and Stable
Pros: Upgraded from an Athlon 3800+ single core. Had to play some games at mid to mid/high settings with the single core. I also upgraded to a new main board and 800 MHZ memory from a 939 rig. Now run my games maxed out. Not sure how much to attribute to the procssor change, but I assume it accounts for much of the performance difference.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Keep buying AMD! Intel is going to set pricing wherever they want if AMD leaves the scene. I don't think that's going to happen, but Intel has really done well since C2D launched. Looks like the new Opterons are getting great review by large business customers. Hopefully, Phenom will top C2D. Competition keeps processors affordable for us, so by AMD if it fits the need!

Pros: Great Performance for Price.
Cons: Stock HSF a little noisy. Replaced with Zalman 9500 and all is quiet and cool.

Best bang for your buck
Pros: best deal going for fast dual core processor. Fast as hell before overclocking.... nevermind after... and it's cheap
Cons: 512KB cache per core - should've been at least 1MB per core. Then it would better compete with the 2M-4M on the Core2 Duo
Other Thoughts: I don't own this exact chip. I have the 1.9GHz version running at a 50% overclock on air cooling. I wish I'd bought this one instead, as I have hit the ceiling of what my RAM will take.

Pros: Super cool and quiet on stock clock with factory heatsink and fan. Plenty of processing power for a benjamin.
Cons: I don't understand AMD's numbering system.

Slick
Pros: I put it in a MicroATX case and it's running nice and cool with the stock fan & heat sink. Like 32 degrees or so. I played "Call of Duty" for a little while and it went up a few degrees, but nothing serious.
Cons: None really.

Quiet Cool and Fast
Pros: Using an Asus M2N SLI Deluxe with stock CPU fan, which supports Cool N Quiet (off by default in bios) and QFan (also off by default) cpu fan is 1642 rpm, can't hear it, CPU temp is 89F (32C), and I can barely hear computer running at all. With CNQ enabled CPU temp drops to 78F (26C). Either way is insanely low for idle temps, have never seen CPU exceed 102F (38C) during intensive cpu usage.
Cons: There may be a slight initial lag when using CNQ mode.
Other Thoughts: No need to overclock, built for stability. In the hundreds of builds over the last 10 years, I have consistently found that cheaping out on the motherboard (spending under $120 regardless of decade/year/socket type) has always rewarded me with pain sooner or later. Your mileage may vary.

update on review on 10-6 with no title
Pros: excellent amd cpu and midrange price point and performance as per anandtech. Needed an upgrade to AM2 for preparation of K10, and anandtech said the time to buy midrange cpu's is now.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Earlier I said the pc rebooted after attempting to download exe files. That was me having the wrong V rated ram for my motherboard. Go figure.

Performance on a budget
Pros: Vista x64 is blazing fast with this and a couple GB of ram. All my games are absolutely flawless as well. I was worried that it would be the bottleneck of my system since I play some MMORPG's and such but not at all. I regularly alt+tab out and look stuff up on the web and it does it all instantly and has no residual effects like lag. Seriously impressed.
Cons: Have to get a patch from AMD for some games (like EverQuest but not WoW) to play properly. Easy to find though.
Other Thoughts: Be sure you have enough ram if you plan to do gaming and such. It will push the load to your hdd and cpu - thus slowing you down considerably - if you don't.

Pros: very good, stable c.p.u right out the box. Quick and easy installation with the retail box set up and heat sink. Good price and performance. Anti-virus protection included in chip.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: This will be the last AM2 chip until the new AM2+ chips come out. On a second note, I am getting a system restart when attempting to download any executable file. Is that the built in amd antivirus or windows?

Pros: Cheap, Fasssst and quite right out of the box. Easy installation and it was great that it includes the cooling fan and heatsink. AMD is just a great all round CPU.

Great
Pros: Great, runs fast. I overclocked it to 3.01 Ghz with the stock fan and heat sink. Don't want to push it farther until i buy a better fan and heat sink.
Cons: None that I can think of.
Other Thoughts: Highly recommend this processor.

Pretty quick, easy Overclocker
Pros: Low watts. Very easy initial overclock to 2.75 running EPP 4-4-4-12 Corsair on Abit An9 32x Fatal1ty with no other changes than upping the DDR2 voltage to 2.1. OCCT, Orthos (8+ hours), Super Pi 16 million stable.
Cons: Who uses the stock heatsink/fan anymore anyways? :)
Other Thoughts: Love AMD processors. They always give me an easy 2-300 mhz stable OC right off the bat with no tweaking or problems. Depending on your mobo, tweaks may be required to go beyond. make sure they can support voltage increases and that you use a decent PSU if you want to go high. I use Abit mobos exclusively, because I have had nothing but good luck/results with them; I tried a DFI last time and it too was nice, easy and also reliable...took a 939 4000+ to 2.8 on air. ;-)

Pros: CPU working fine, none too hot and came for a great price.
Cons: none

Awesome
Pros: Runs amazingly cool even after hours of games, never gets above 111 degrees farenheit. General use puts it at about 90 degrees. My old single core with general use was like 140 degrees, so the increase in power and decrease in temperature is awesome. Fast CPU, true multitasking, Go AMD!!
Cons: Its not free.

Got 2nd one
Pros: 65nm overclocks to 2.8 and still uses 1.3 volts of power
Cons: multiplier is hard to work with and 512 L2
Other Thoughts: 12.5 multiplier can be overcome by oc'ing FSB to 224 = 2.8ghz. This also makes DDR2 800 run at 400mhz. If unstable lower FSB by 2's until stable. I had so much fun with this that this is the second review and cpu.

Exactly how fast is this guy?
Pros: I upgraded from a Barton 3200+ and saw a 3-fold increase in my transcoding performance of h264. And the app isn't even multithreaded, so one core was still bumping along at over 50% idle. Along with an el-cheapo GF 7300LE, I'm able to play back 1080p with about 40% CPU utilization. w00t!
Cons: Stock cooler, while certainly sufficient, kinda bites. About on par with a < ten-dollar aftermarket cooler. On the upshot, the fan is inaudible. I still used it, because I've no intention to overclock my home media server.

Cons: none

Awsome
Pros: 65 nm is cool cause it runs cool. Cheap. 1.25-1.35V. Overclocks be on par with 6000. Thats pretty sad for the people the paid an extra 70 for a chip
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Ht multiplier must be set to 12.5 with crosshair board. It set it to 12 and the chip was running 2.4. No big deal really.

very nice
Pros: runs very cool and overclocks easily. I have it at 2.6 gHz on stock cooling. power savings over my previous processor (athlon thunderbird) are noticeable.
Cons: my board can only take one?
Other Thoughts: I'm barely pushing this chip, so I know it can go way higher, especially when I go to water-cooling in the spring. A bigger L2 cache would have made this chip out perform the FX-62. Maybe AMD will get wise on the next chip

nice processor
Pros: Wow it actually runs really cool at 29C with Thermaltake Mini Typhoon! And considering thats only 5 degrees higher than room temperature, YAY! :)
Cons: Pity there's only 2 x 512MB L2 Cache, I should have just paid a few dollars more for a X2 5200+ which is 2.6GHz and has 2x1MB L2 cache.
Other Thoughts: Ah well it still performs well. 2GB Corsair XMS2 RAM, Powercolor HD 2600XT, Thermaltake 500W PSU

good speed for the price
Pros: it works. runs pretty cool.. comes with a heatsink/fan
Cons: heatsink is standard cheap aluminum deal.. generally stays around 44C in a 75-78F room. Not great, but not bad. And not terribly quiet either.. but not as bad as most cheap heatsink/fans I've seen. May eventually get a good quality silent heatsink for it.
Other Thoughts: Running 64bit Kubuntu without a problem. Perfectly stable.

runs quick and cool
Pros: I now have the fastest computer i have played on, with this processor. my computer never bogs down, and i have felt the heatsink after hours of gaming and it is still barely room temperature, granted i have like 7 fans in my case, but still rules. great price, and i dont plan to overclock so i had no problem spending less for athlon over C2D.
Cons: not single one.
Other Thoughts: asus m2n-e, this processor, 2 x 1 GB OCZ gold ram, EVGA 8800gts, 600W Xion psu. great PC!!!

Revisited
Pros: Past history of company.....
Cons: R.I.P.
Other Thoughts: Kinda sad about AMD, Got this processor because of the 65nm technology. Then I find out there is something wrong with the internal heat sensor. I also bought a ati 1950xt which I came to find out does no adjust the fan speed to the correct values for increased temp. had to download ATI tools to run the fan at correct speeds, else the card would overheat and shut down my system. No OC either. After of ten years of AMD loyalty, I will no longer support AMD, Too bad their CEOs are not enthusiasts. They only manage for the bottom line and are destroying AMD

Overclocker's Delight
Pros: Highest max temp rating of all AMD CPUs, 72C. The 65nm chip switches faster, more efficient, less heat. Can be OC'ed above 3.1Ghz. Runs cool at 2.825Ghz, only 39C using stock cooling and ATRIX case.
Cons: Price dropped $15 the day after I bought it. 8^o
Other Thoughts: Slap it into the Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe with GSkill 2GB 4-4-3-5 DDR2 800. Set memory voltage to 2.05V, core to 1.325. Set multiplier to 226. Use the AiBooster pop-up to manage settings. My FSB is over 1130Mhz and system runs rock-solid.

Awesome
Pros: CHEAP!!!! It runs Vista Business great on my comp. Such an upgrade from a 450MHz intel!
Cons: Does heat up a little bit. My problem was the fan layout on my comp. All I had to do was change the flow and it dropped 15 degrees. It runs idle at about 80.
Other Thoughts: Great if you are looking for a cheap solution to upgrading your processor. Must buy product!

Gets hot
Pros: Its fast, it hardly ever hits 100% on both cores, and smokes my sempron 3100. Not as expensive as Intel's line.
Cons: It gets hot, randomly reboots. The fan/heatsink that comes with it is worthless. I am buying a new fan/heatsink for this processor. The thermal tape that comes on the heatsink is junk, use thermal paste, and make sure you buy case fans if your case is not well ventalated.
Other Thoughts: If I had known that it overheated like this, I would have bought case fans and a cpu fan/heatsink when I bought this processor.

Liking it
Pros: Fast, easy install, runs cool, fast, inexpensive. Running nice with an EVGA 590 SLI mobo and Corsair PC2-6400 RAM.
Cons: Can't think of any for my needs.
Other Thoughts: I couldn't spend too much money but I wanted to run several virtual machines on one computer instead of several physical computers sucking power and making noise. This seemed to have the balance I wanted between price, speed, and energy efficiency.

Amazing
Pros: Very fast. Ordered it with a combo aftermarket fan and it has yet to get warm. Runs Vista very well. My old computer also used to slow down after files began getting installed and this chip handles all of those files and more.
Cons: The fan was annoying to install...otherwise nothing.

Great Buy
Pros: Runs much cooler than toledo core on same applications. Stock cooler is more than sufficient at stock speed. Price performance ratio is Excellent
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: What are you waiting for its not going to get a whole lot cheaper anytime soon. Buy one and enjoy a faster more responsive machine. As always newegg delivered on time and in one piece

Great Processor! 65WATT Version
Pros: This is a great processor! It does everything I need to and more. Multitasking is great, running CS2 with Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign open all at the same time without any hiccups. The only game I play is NWN2 and runs smooth without any issues.
Cons: Pure aluminum fan, no copper anywhere.
Other Thoughts: The Brisban is the 65 watt version of the 4800+ which runs at 2.5Ghz, the previous two 4800+ the Toledo and Widsor run at 2.4Ghz and are at a tad slower and uses a higher wattage. This processor has a greater watt-to-speed ratio..giving you the best performance for your money. This processor is not on Tom’s Hardware they only show the two slower version of the 4800+. Make sure your motherboard supports the 65mn, 65watt Brisban AM2 processor. I am using the Abit AM52 with no problem.
