Rating + 5 Processor Upgrade

Pros: Installed this processor in a sony vaio vgn-cr220 and tested it in a vgn-cr140n and it worked flawlessly in both. Installation was very easy and precise. If you have a sony and want some more speed. Install this bad boy and enjoy

Rating + 5 Upgrade Dell Insprion 1318

Pros: Dropped right into this cheap Walmart special laptop upgrading from the stock T2390 @1.86 to this with 6mb cache and 2.5 ghz. Just plain sick what a difference this makes. 45nm technology means it produces less heat, and battery life is improved since the proc works less.

Cons: Can't believe people drop an Egg because of the price????

Other Thoughts: I really rounded out this laptop using a Falcon 128 gb SSD (flashed with OZC firmware so it's a vertex) 4 GB of ram. Just for kicks, I dual boot Windows 7 and OS X 10.5.8. Amazing to take a cheap laptop and upgrade it to better than any custom option Dell sells on a new one (T8300 for $175)

Pros: Excellent CPU !!!! FAST FAST FAST,If you own a 6860 fx you must have this processor. I installed this processor on my couch in 5 mins. A MUST buy.

Cons: Price, but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I researched for weeks and weeks bouncing between then T300 and the T9300.I'm VERY happy that I went with the T9300.I shopped with Tiger for years and was weary of Newegg, but believe me Newegg has all my business now, excellent to deal with. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!!

Rating + 5 Excellent Mobile CPU upgrade!

Pros: -2.5GHz w/ 6MB cache is an excellent CPU upgrade for most laptops
-Cooler running = less heat
-Excellent Intel Core 2 architecture

Cons: -Absolutely none!

Other Thoughts: I bought this because NEwegg ran out of the T8600/2.4GHz CPU's. This upgrade was primarily for my Toshiba X205-S9800 notebook, and with proper disassembling directions, managed to get this nice CPU installed w/o a problem. Never going to go for Desktop CPU-in-laptop ever again.

Pros: Great performance, one of the best upgrade you can do.

Cons: Price.

Other Thoughts: Installed this CPU in my Gateway P6831fx notebook. Noticed a performance jump right away, GTA 4 loaded and played alot smoother.

Rating + 5 Wonderful

Pros: This is a freakin' good processor....it handles virtually everything that I throw at it. games run smoother than ever. video encoding and image editing is a breeze as well....even vista loses the battle to slow a laptop with this sucker in it. I eagerly waited for this thing to come, and am very satisfied.

Cons: hahahaha! runs a bit hot...and the price. but worth it. make sure your system you can handle it

Other Thoughts: get a good thermal solution or else. and make sure you know how to install the processor of course.

Rating + 5 Outstanding Upgrade

Pros: This is a great Product. I upgraded my Dell Inspiron 1520 from a T7100 to this processor and the difference is like night and day. Vista is running much smoother now and the entire system is far more responsive. All in all I’m very happy with this processor.

Cons: Con sounds like “Khan” and he was very mad at Captain Kirk in Star Trek 2.

Other Thoughts: This is a great Product. I upgraded my Dell Inspiron 1520 from a T7100 to this processor and the difference is like night and day. Vista is running much smoother now and the entire system is far more responsive. I use this computer primarily as a learning platform with various virtual PCs and it works well. All in all I’m very happy with this processor.

Con sounds like “Khan” and he was very mad at Captain Kirk in Star Trek 2.

Dell’s service manual made this an easy upgrade and you just can’t beat Newegg.

Rating + 5 Good boost

Pros: Fast Newegg shipping as always. I have a Dell m1330 that had a T7250 2.0 Core 2 duo from the factory and this was a breeze to install. Took all of maybe 40 minutes. Pop open the door, remove a few screws, lift out the old processor, slather on a bit of thermal paste, and pop in the new one. Booted right up and runs great. I use system-intensive audio recording software (Cubase) and needed the increase in power, but even for everyday tasks, my laptop took a nice speed jump. Although at first skeptical, I found the 6 MB level 2 cache really did make a difference over the T7250's 2 MB, and the half ghz clock increase also was worth the price.

Cons: None...

Other Thoughts: Pricey, but you get what you pay for... Now I'm waiting for the quad mobiles to come down in price.

Pros: Pretty fast, it does most simple tasks without halting.

Cons: Pretty terrible performance for the price. I went to this after I was on a AMD computer with a 6400+ in it, and honestly it was such a major down grade. I would never buy this processor if I had a choice.

Other Thoughts: This came with my toshiba laptop (x205-sli6)

Rating + 5 Extremely Fast

Pros: 6MB of L2 Cache
45nm Penryn
35watt TDP
Works extremely well with Vista Home Premium 32 bit
Relatively good price(see other thoughts)
Encodes video very quickly
Plays games pretty nicely

Cons: Will start to get rather hot if running at 100% for long enough.
May be overkill for many users.

Other Thoughts: The price may seem high for a processor, but when you take into account that it's a high end 35watt, 6MB L2 Cache, 2.5GHz laptop processor, the price doesn't seem so bad.

Unless you're really going to use this processor to its full potential i.e. gaming, video editing and/or encoding, etc. you'd probably be better off with a processor with less L2 cache and just pocket the extra cash.

Pros: Runs my P-6831FX about 15-20 degrees celsius cooler than the original T5450 under normal gaming load, THIS CPU IS A MUST WHEN IT COMES TO UPGRADING A 6831! Completely eliminates the performance bottle neck of a stock 6831! This CPU has allowed me to turn the graphics all the way up on Warhammer, looks sooo beautiful now!

1.66 GHz 667MHz 2mb cache --> 2.5 GHz 800MHz 6mb cache

Cons: Didn't get my AS-5 paste with the cpu, I had to go to radioshed to buy some. Thermal paste came the next day...

Other Thoughts: can't wait till i can afford two 7k HD's (raid 0) and vista 64-bit

Rating + 5 WIN!!!!

Pros: works like charm. quick easy install in my Gateway C-140x. 6 screws undoes the access panel. another six removes the entire heatsink assembly. that exposes the CPU; Northbridge; and GPU. just twist the lock for the CPU, pull it out, put in the new one, twist lock back. The add some thermal grease (arctic silver 5 is available ad radio shack if you forgot to order it from newegg (like me)) noticably cooler, starts up and shutdowns down faster; haven't yet done any benchmarks. vista CPU score jumped .7 points and vista RAM score jumped .3 points.

Cons: some trouble initially with windows media player due to DRM; not the CPU. DRM SUCKS! The T7300 that was in there didn't have any thermal grease on it; it was pressed directly against the foil/copper heatsink. Item was shipped in a simple bubble envelope; was crushed quite well in shipping; it was undamaged but a little disconcerting. newegg said they would replace if it was damaged.

Other Thoughts: if you forget to order artcic silver from newegg or don't have any instock you can run to radio shack. it costs $9.49 + tax but it's better than waiting another 1-2 days to get it from the egg.

Pros: Upgraded from T5550 on my Gateway M-6850FX. Boots up super fast, and runs cool. Got an average 3-5 FPS more from gaming. Supports my newly installed 4gb 800mhz ram. Installed it with Arctic silver 5 in less then 30 minutes.

Cons: Expensive.

Other Thoughts: Worth it if you got the extra cash. Otherwise, wait until the price drops.

Pros: Wofldale Core (Penryn). 45nm, 6mb L2, 35W power consumption.

I have this installed (factory) in my Asus M50 laptop. I have been having it clocked at 2.9Ghz without ANY issues what so ever. It runs smooth and fast. Games, encoding, and just cruising around on the internet is a breeze!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Asus M50

Rating + 5 Gateway P-6831FX upgrade

Pros: Upgraded from a 1.67~ Core 2 Duo in my Gateway P-6831FX the install went very easily and quick. Extraordinary increase in overall speed was quite noticeable, and boot time was cut in almost half (along with a few other modifications of msconfig). My 1.67~ was greatly underrated by the games I've installed, and ran them all, but now should (haven't tried yet) be able to max out Crysis. The shipping was quick, arrived w/no damage and the processor itself couldn't look any sexier

Cons: Price, but you get what you pay for.

Rating + 5 My Dream Laptop

Pros: Gateway 6860FX came with a T5550, slapped the T9300 in and boot time was cut in half. I was struggling to max out eye-candy in COD:W@W with 2xAA and get smooth framerate 100% of the time and with this CPU I have accomplished just that. I don't like laying out percents and numbers but this lappy is a LOT faster and TONS cooler now. Used AC Ceramique for the sink and the stuff works great. With Powermizer OFF plugged in I'm surfing at 29C. I was 7zipping camera photo archives for fun because it was so fast.

Vista64 Windows Exp Index is now 5.1 (w00t.)

Cons: Cost is pretty high...but my lappy, CPU, thermal paste, COD:W@W, G5 Mouse, HP Keyboard, Swiss Backpack, Plantronics headset ALL combined still cost less than 1 bottom feeder Aleeenware.

Other Thoughts: If you are wondering if this will make a difference from your stock T5XXX CPU I am here along with all the other reviewers to say "Yes! it will!"

Now go beg your folks to get it for you for Christmas! :)

Rating + 5 Excellent upgrade!

Pros: I recently purchased three of these CPUs for upgrade testing and evaluation in three of our company Dell Vostro 1500s. The Vostros came stock with either the T5470 (1.6GHz C2D) or the T5250 (1.5GHz C2D). So far none of the three laptops have had any problems, and the added performance is quite dramatic. No heat issues with our Vostros.

Cons: Still fairly pricey.

Other Thoughts: The upgrade process was a snap with our Dell laptops, thanks to Dell's excellent service manual.

Rating + 5 this things a beast

Pros: ive had this processor in my HP DV9700T since Feb2008. it can handle just about anything you can throw at it. does great for video compression ive had up to 500 FPS on local disk media. multi tasking is not a problem. i try to bog it down and i am rarely successful. 45nm chip. a must have if you want a fast laptop.

Cons: i didnt invent it, so no money for me :(

Other Thoughts: been an AMD fan for over 10 years. sad to say AMD is getting clowned by Intel. cant wait for the core i7's to come out. buy this or a faster available core duo for your laptop. you will love it.

Rating + 5 Great upgrade for Dell Vostro Laptop

Pros: Fantastic upgrade for our office Dell Vostro 1500 laptops-they came standard with the 1.6GHz T5470. In terms of performance this T9300 Penryn is like getting a whole new laptop.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: As mentioned elsewhere, this upgrade isn't for the faint of heart. Dell has an excellent service manual on their support site that will walk you through CPU replacement step-by-step. When I'm tearing down a laptop I like to place the screws on a piece of notebook paper with notes indicating where they go (display, chassis etc). It's a lot easier than trying to reassemble from memory.

Rating + 5 Great upgrade for P6860-FX

Pros: Great upgrade for the P6860-Fx from Gateway (T5550). Easy to install. Excellent New Egg Service. 6MB Cache, cooler temps, less power consumption.

Cons: Price is a bit high and seems to be rising, but in order to get the performance, you gotta pay the price. Well worth it IMO.

Other Thoughts: If you are considering putting this processor in a 6860, it is an easy upgrade that does make a difference. My Futuremark scores jumped over 2,000 points with only installing this processor. Faster FSB than the stock processor, also increased memory performance in the Windows Performance Index to 5.1 from 4.6. It was my first processor upgrade, and went off without a hitch. Like some others indicated, if you can add RAM, you can probably handle this upgrade on the 6860. Be careful with the North Bridge thermal pad, I had to replace mine due to a tear when removing the heat sink. Don't forget the thermal grease for the processor.

Rating + 4 nice upgrade

Pros: Great performance/watt. Nice upgrade from my old 7300; smaller process=less heat/power, more cache and a few other architectural tweaks

Cons: Price; only thing that kept from getting 5 eggs. The trouble is that AMD isn't competitive so Intel has no need to reduce prices.

Other Thoughts: Overall very nice upgrade although the install isn't for the faint of heart and likely voids any warranty. Computer is now more responsive and rarely pegs both cores for long; used to max both frequently.

Pros: I upgraded my Inspiron 1520 from a T7500 and experienced a noticeable performance increase. UT3 loads a lot quicker now. My memory and CPU ratings both went up by 0.3. It runs cooler than my T7500.

Cons: It isn't specific to this CPU, but I found out after the upgrade that my Zune software uses CPU info as part of the DRM, even if there is no DRM music on the computer...

Other Thoughts: The install only took me about an hour, although I was being very careful, so it may be possible in less time on this model.

Cons: Thier are no cons to the chip itself. Except from being a little pricey when i bought it..but thats just the price.

Rating + 5 Awesome Processor

Pros: I replaced the T5550 (1.83GHz 2MB cache) in my Gateway 6860FX laptop with this processor and I must say I'm very impressed. The installation was so easy.....unscrewed the processor covering, popped out the T5550 easy, and the T9300 went right in (also added some Arctic thermal grease). Turned on the laptop and she booted right up in 25 seconds with no problems. All my games load and run faster. Frame rates went up by 10-15 in Call of Duty 4, World in Conflict and Flight Simulator X which is a big increase for those games. The latter two are heavily CPU-dependent so the T9300 made a big difference. Runs about the same temperature so far. Overall I highly recommend this processor.

Cons: Price, but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Getting a 6860FX and upgrading the processor to this is still cheaper than customizing gaming laptops but you get a big bang for the buck.

Pros: Dropped it in to my Gateway P-6831FX with no trouble at all, done in about two minutes (this is also a mark in favor of the laptop). Experienced a definite improvement in performance over the stock T5450 with no apparent increase in heat output or decrease in battery life.

Cons: It arrived the next day, when I quite clearly requested three day shipping.

Other Thoughts: Now I just have to remember to swap the old chip back in if I ever have to send the laptop in for warranty work, and hope they don't notice the voidance.

Pros: Awesome cpu, I updated from a 2.0ghz intel celeron. There is a huge difference, it's 45nm compared to my last 65nm chip, my lap doesn't get so warm and I can run crysis on low, it would be high but my graphics card keeps that from happening, sweet cpu.

Cons: None, you pay for performance

Other Thoughts: I'm running windows xp with 4 gigs of ram, this processor, and 384 megs of graphics. Sweet setup.

Rating + 5 Best processor I have ever owned

Pros: Replaced a t7300 in a XPS m1330 with this t9300 and have been blown away! I am not a gamer, but with the applications i do use it has created a significant increase in my productivity (20-30%) across the board from startup to hd editing. Also a 10-15% increase in battery life for laptop.

Cons: Well if anything its price, but as said you pay for what you get. Good thing is its value relative to the 9500.

Other Thoughts: A couple of days ago I decided to open as many programs or applications on my computer as possible and run them all at one time. After around 35 programs, including the entire CS3 Design Premium suite, itunes, wmp, wmc, 5 different browsers, the entire office 2007 enterprise edition suite, and numerous other programs all doing some sort of everyday tasks such as encoding, decoding, burning, etc. I had zero processor lag. Ran out of physical memory though (4gigs).

Pros: I upgraded from a T7700 to this T9300, so if you wanna know how it stands here you go. (I have a review for that)

I had an increase of about 15 minutes over the T7700 in battery life. I know its not much but it's something.

A huge increase in performance in Supreme commander which now only uses an amazing 99% of the CPU. Anyway, all of my other games (Bioshock, Oblivion, UT 3, etc.) has dropped by about 8% in CPU usage. So far it has only maxed, during intense game play, at about 75%

Cons: This is a very hot CPU *but* i noticed it's about 12% cooler than the T7700. Anyway about 92 degrees Celsius full load.

Is there some kind of law against HD content *not* destroying a CPU.
I started upscaling a 7mb file (the same one i used with the T7700) to 1920 x 1080p ............................... were both waiting for a conclusion to that.

Other Thoughts: It took about 2 1/2 hours to upscale that file! (30 mins less than the T7700)

I upgraded my Graphic card from a 8700M GT to 8800M GTX.
The T9300 goes very well with that, 2 + gb of memory, and a good sound card/chip. I have 4gb of memory and Realtec HD sound chip. Vista Home Premium is confused at how fast it is running!

MAKE SURE THIS WILL WORK IN YOUR LAPTOP! If you have a first generation socket p laptop you may still need to upgrade your motherboard to utilize all the features of this chip.

Pros: SPEED: this cpu is FAST!!! I upgraded from a T7300 to this one and I am now able to play GOW and Mass Effect on the highest settings. It also cut my Vista boot time in half. Applications load faster and media encoding is better also

Cons: ABSOLUTELY NONE...

Other Thoughts: Easy upgrade in an Asus F3Sv-A1. Upgrade took about 15 minutes. Used CERAMIQUE thermal compound. Well worth the price

Rating + 5 t9300 powarrrr!!!

Pros: Great cpu, faster response time. Laptop loads and shuts off faster AND stay cooler thanks for 45nm fabrication. Increased fps from 10-30 overall. Now my fan kick in on high only while I'm gaming since nVidia 8600gt chip need more cooling while gaming. The cpu stays sooo cool with arctic silver 5 when I do antivirus scan+itunes+websurfing+msn the fan always is on low so now I have near silent laptop....thanks again Intel and NewEgg!!!

Cons: I can't think of any and I will not take the egg off just because of price.....People it is 2.5ghz in laptop for sake......you pay top dollar for performance!

Other Thoughts: Get it! I wasn't sure it will work with my Asus F3Sv series.......I called them in Cali and they said that they not recommend it but after doing homework I found out laptop has newest intel chipset g945 if I'm not mistaken, I don't remember sorry and it simply supports any cpu on the market except the "extreme" mobile ones!

Rating + 5 WORTH EVERY DOLLAR

Pros: I BOUGHT THIS BABY FOR MY ACER AS89206048. I UPGRADED FROM THE STOCK T5550 IT HAD TO THIS. ITS WORTH THE DIFFERENCE. I WANTED TO GET THE X9000 BUT THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS FROM THE T9300 2.5 800MHZ 6MB CACHE TO X9000 2.8 800MHZ 6MB CACHE 800MHZ. IT DIDN'T MAKE SENSE TO PAY THE EXTRA AMOUNT. GET ARTIC SILVER TOO!!!

Cons: HORRIBLE SHIPPING!! ITEM WAS SHIPPED POORLY!! ITEM COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN DAMAGED!!!!

Rating + 5 Great chip!

Pros: Installed this chip in my Gateway P-6831FX laptop. Took about 25 minutes because I took my time and wanted to do it right. Old chip was a T5450 core2 1.66Ghz. Fired up the laptop and everything works great! Overall I would say I get about a 25% boost in performance in the apps that I use.

Cons: Make sure to read up on the proper procedure to replace your old chip. Can be an expensive mistake if you do it wrong.

Other Thoughts: I can now play Crysis on very high settings and get 30 frames per second. Just a beautiful game!

Rating + 5 You can do it!

Pros: Extending a thanks to fellow New Eggers who talked me into buying this chip. I have a Gateway P-6860FX and did some research. 3DMark05 from 10,3?? to 13,8??!!! POW!

Cons: I hope I have not jinxed myself.

Other Thoughts: It is a bit nerve wracking to pop out that old 1.8 chip. I used Tuniq TX-2. For under $350 I have a %30 performance boost! Crysis told me its wants to play on "high," I can't see the is it the amazing graphics or my tears. Windows Index from 4.6 to 5.1.

Rating + 5 P-6860 flying now

Pros: Gateway P-6860 came stock with a T5550 (1.83). Put this baby in and it not only performs better because of a faster clock speed but the FSB is faster which means the memory is working faster. The windows index went from 4.8 to 5.4. It also increased the memory performance because of the link. Memory score went from 4.5 to 5.1. Over all score is 5.1 because it goes with the weakest link which is my memory until my 4 gigs of G skill 4-4-4-12 comes in.

Cons: 319 is a little pricey but hey you pay for performance

Other Thoughts: If you have a Gateway P-6860(BB) buy this processor now. Not only does it run faster but its running about 15C cooler than with the stock T5550. I've seen it get up to 55C during gaming with AS 5 applied. Thats awesome for a laptop. Can't beat the 45nm chips.

Rating + 5 Nice Upgrade

Pros: Easy to install. Improved CPU intensive games and software.

Cons: Newegg used very BAD packaging! My box was crushed because whoever packaged it used a BAG (like priority mail bag).
Luckily, the chip worked.

Other Thoughts: In the future, I may be reluctant to order from Newegg unless they use better packing material! This could have been a $300 loss for me because there are no returns on this item.

Rating + 5 Outstanding CPU

Pros: Very fast, and with 45NM you can't complain ( Intels newest =) ) Made my FPS in Crysis go from 45FPS overall to 55 FPS. From Medium to HIGH! Upped my start-up time by 20 seconds or so.

Cons: Like all CPU Cons, do you want to put more paste or less paste? More heat, or more survivability? : ). CPU w/o paste would be FOR TEH WIN! I tried to put ( Ef Tee W ) and it said it was improper language, lol.

Other Thoughts: I wonder if the price will change.

Rating + 5 Pretty awsome, wish I could wait though.

Pros: Great processer. Handles everything smoothly and its just amazing. I have vista premium and it handles everything perfectly, 15 conversations in aim, itunes, 10 tabs open in IE 10 tabs open in firefox, 5 conversations in msn, flashget running, while downloading 5 large downloads at the same time, WHILE playing Call of Duty 4.

Cons: See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: Well first of all I had this processor for over a month, it came wiht my dell XPS m1530. Its a pretty sweet machine. My specs are. T9300, 3GB ram, 8600GT, 200gb 7200 rpm hard drive..and a bunch of other stuff. This processor along wiht other components sucks a lot of battery life, but I am plugged in most of the time. One regret that I have is that I recently found out that in may (this month) there is going to be an update to this processor, and its gonna havea 1066mhz FSB. Which is something new for a laptop. Would have really liked it, could have waited a month. Other then that, I can brag that I have a 45nm processor and you dont =P

Rating + 5 Power in a Notebook

Pros: Nice CPU for a notebook. Works great in an Asus s96sp (Santa Rosa chipset refresh).

Cons: None, just wish the Asus s96s could have supported it.

Other Thoughts: This thing throttles between 1.25 GHz and 2.5 GHz on low power mode in my notebook. With a good thermal paste and a good heat sink, this thing will run from around 25 - 35 degrees celcius.

Rating + 5 Awesome mobile chip!

Pros: This chip rocks! I just bought an HP Pavilon dv9700t that uses this chip and I get better performance on my new laptop than my friend's Athlon X2 overclocked desktop. Game performance is great and it flies through benchmarks. I was able to hit 17.5 seconds for 1M of Pi in SuperPi. It also has clock scaling so it can slow down and save power, mine idles around 800MHz most of the time. It's also 64 bit so it can run a 64 bit OS.

Cons: When running at full speed under load (I run Folding@Home at night when I'm not using the laptop), it gets pretty hot and causes the fan to speed up to full blast, making noise. It'd also eat batteries pretty quickly, but I usually use power saving mode when I'm on batteries.

Other Thoughts: Didn't buy this from Newegg, got it straight from HP. I have this chip, 3GB RAM, and an 8600M GS.

Rating + 5 Very nice improvement.

Pros: This CPU made Assassin's Creed jump from 15-20FPS to 40-60FPS. WoW is well over 120FPS constant(v-sync off). Video rendering was cut by half, and PhotoShop CS2 tasks by the same. Temps dropped 20C from t5450, with same HSF, but with Antec Formula 5. Was hesitant to upgrade after some reviews on other sites stated this Proc was not worth the extra 3MB cache over the 8xxx, but would recommend to all persons.

Cons: Price. Penryn Mobile Quads are not out yet.

Other Thoughts: Gateway P-6831FX.. T9300, 3GB DDR2, 250BG HD, 8800m GTS.

Rating + 5 Fast as H***

Pros: Got this processor in a V*stro 1500 from De**. Installed Windows Vista Ultimate and this thing screams! As other reviews mention Vista rates this processor a 5.4/6.0 but thats just because its a mobile processor and Vista grades it against desktop processors.
Processor runs super cool, had computer on my lap for extended period of time and although not one part of the system got really hot the place where the processor fan and proc is actually located was the coolest
6MB L2 cache is awesome!

Cons: Intel is killing all the competition in price speed and availability... Moore's Law may become Moore's suggestion.

Other Thoughts: Vostro 1500 with T9300, 4 gigs of G.Skill 667mhz RAM, 1680x1050 WUSXGA+ monitor, Intel draft wireless-N card , certified Intel Centrino system

Rating + 5 EXCELLENT UPGRADE

Pros: Remains extremely cool when installed with the Arctic Silver CMQ-22G ceramic thermal compound.

Installed it in a Gateway P-6831FX which I purchased with a T5550 (1.86 GHz) and my Windows Experience Index went from a 4.8 to a 5.4 for the processing. The installation of this processor into this particular laptop was a joke. If you can handle a hard drive swap or memory upgrade, swapping the processor out in this rig is right up your alley.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I wish there was a way to adjust the multiplier or FSB on the P-6831FX because as cool as this processor is running now, I am sure there is some overhead to play with.

Pros: Purchased as an upgrade for my Gateway p-6831(came with a T5550) and man does this thing scream. Even though the Vista benchmark tool isn't that great my scores went up and I could tell a big difference in gaming, especially LOTRO.

Cons: None? Runs cooler and faster how can that be a con...

Cons: None.

Rating + 5 Cpu

Pros: Wow What a boost . I upgraded my Toshiba X205 S3949 (T7100 1.8GHZ) to this cpu and I can tell you guys it's a big improvement.
3DMark06 Cpu test gained 800 points and playing games in high setting is no problem at all....

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Great Product If you have to low end CPU in your laptop then it's worth to upgrade with this little devil.
