Rating + 5 Socket 479=m=p

Pros: This is a great upgrade to a socket 479 laptop. That being said what is socket 479 its 478 pin cpu as you can see it says needs a socket P well socket M and socket P are both Socket 479. I had a t5250 in my Acer 5920 and it clearly said socket M but knowing it was a Socket 479 I put the t7300 in and now it reports Socket p.T2xxx T5xxx T7xxxx and many of the new celerons are all Socket 479 478 pin cpu's.
I am posting this becuase the only way I found out was to try it. These are not to be confused with older socket 478 P4 and celerons or mobile. If you are not positive what yours is or you have never been inside a laptop do yourself a favor don't try this. If you have an itx board with a socket 479 this will work!

Cons: Non great chip

Other Thoughts: Again Don't tear down a laptop unless you know what your doing. I'm sure it voides the warrenty

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: It's socket P, make sure your motherboard is too.

Pros: I got this processor with a dell 1720 and was very impressed with it's performance. the difference is night and day when compared with my year old Athlon 64.

Cons: there is absolutely no downside to owning one. I only wish that more programs took advantage of the dual core architecture.

Other Thoughts: apparently this processor has a cool feature that automatically clocks down one core and clocks up the other to enhance performance in single threaded apps.

Rating + 5 Great performance

Pros: Core 2 Duo, 4MB of L2 Cache, 800MHZ of FSB. The processor came with the Dell Vostro 1700 I got for my office. Super super fast!!! If you bought a notebook with a standard core duo you should really get this cpu.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have another Dell Vostro 1500 with AMD X2 TL-60 (2.0GHZ) but the Intel C2D T7300 out performs the AMD.

Rating + 5 HTPC WITH ATTITUDE!

Pros: The 4MB of L2 cache and 800mhz bus speed makes this a perfect HTPC cpu. I am using this in an AOpen M965-DR setup and am extremely happy with the performance. With the increased performance - make sure to select a HDD with some gusto (like the 120GB WD Scorpio) and the fastest RAM you can afford.

Cons: Still a little expensive. Tried the 2.2ghz version... and there is little improvement in performance for the extra $$.

Other Thoughts: Newegg had an 'open box' available... I've never had a problem with orders before - but what I received was sickening. I received a cpu that looked like it was removed with an ice cream scoop... and was not repackaged correctly. The cpu was loose in the box and the form fitting plastic shields were BACKWARDS. I doubt that they even look at returns after this. Frankly, saving a few extra bucks isn't work this kind of surprise.
