More bang for the buck
Pros: Overclocks better than anything I've ever owned. Have been running for months and months at 3.0GHz with no problems at all. AND...that's with the stock heatsink and fan!
Cons: I love it so much I may keep it far beyond its "useful life" to a tech geek. =D
Other Thoughts: I'm still amazed at how well this thing runs, and will be hard pressed to replace it when these new 45nm processors really get rolling. Then again, new toys.....

Excellent overclocker
Pros: Runs great on a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L at 2.9 without a hitch. I'm sure I could push it a lot harder if necessary.
Cons: None.

Good OCing, stable
Pros: Good Overclocking, I got it to 2.7Ghz with stock cooling and no Vcore messing. It runs cool at this speed too (30-40C).
Cons: Only 2mb cache, but really take a look at the charts, the difference of performance between 1,2,4, and 8mb of cache is 10-15% from 1mb to 8mb
Other Thoughts: Very good CPU, but the E2180 or E2200 are better deals now

Nice for OC novices
Pros: Very nice overclocker. Using a EVGA 680i, and Zalman fan, OC'ed to 3.15Gz. Others may get better numbers, but I don't have the guts to go further.
Cons: Only dual core (vs. quad core), but hey, no one has written quad core programs (or will in the near future).
Other Thoughts: First time OC'er, and this was a relatively easy setup (look on the web for guides). A must if you want to OC.

Best OCing CPU ever
Pros: This CPU is the best overclocking chip Ive seen since the celeron 400. It has the perfect multiplier, paired with an Nvidia 650i board, and cheap ram. Anything less than 3ghz, your not trying hard enough. Mine is stable at 3.45, with very very little (+.1 volt) core voltage tweaking.
Cons: Its not free and cant give backrubs. Its not even hot enough overclocked, to cook anything with.
Other Thoughts: They are getting more and more rare, but the price/performance of this chip overclocked beats ANY other dual core cpu. AND EVEN BETTER THAN SOME LOWER END QUAD CORES!!!

OC Magic
Pros: Bought this b/c did not want to spend $1K on a quad core processor that could only be a dual core in "real life". Got 3.15 Gz after OC w/ Zalman cooler. Occ glitches (once every 3-4 months) with very high processing (i.e. boku multitasking), but works very well, even on my processor intensive applications.
Cons: see above

don't waste your time
Pros: CPU worked really well right out of the box but thats about it
Cons: After a few months of having this CPU, it is running incredibly hot and I'm getting multiple BSOD's relating to the CPU. I'm not running THAT much, sometimes just firefox and my outlook, and I'll get a BSOD because of the CPU.

Whats not to love
Pros: If you are looking at this CPU you probably know it has a reputation for overclocking, and it lives up to it. Using a gigabyte P35-DS3L and an Arctic Cooler Pro 7, I am easily able to get this CPU to reach 3.2Ghz without even upping the vcore. Buy it!
Cons: None, maybe intel should ship them with arctic cooler 7.

Favorite Cheap Proc
Pros: WOW. I don't OC much but with all the hype behind this processor and getting a bad axe 2 I just had to try it out. I got mine up to 2.93 Ghz and am way happy with it. If you can still get this proc I say get it. But as far as I can tell NEWEGG's been out for awhile and every other vendor is overcharging.
Cons: none

Great Cpu
Pros: Very cheap processor, that is great performance. Extremely easy to overclock, using a gigabyte p35 ds3l mobo. Just change the fsb to 333, multiplier at 9. No change to volate or anything else, and 3.0ghz. VERy easy. coretemp says 50c idle, and 60c load using stock cpu fan. good enough. very nice.
Cons: None

Truly great upgrade.
Pros: Fast and cool in a small form factor case.Powers through everything.
Cons: Researched this thing well and no surprises after install. Absolutely no cons.
Other Thoughts: What's nice about this processor is I'll use it in future builds because of it's overclocking potential.Fast is fast and this'll see me through for quite some time. Have a larger Core 2 Duo computer, and this holds it's own!

Great OCer. possibly the best ever
Pros: It would be a crime to run this CPU at its default speed of 1.8ghz. Have mine rock stable at 3.45ghz while writing this. Temps are never higher than 50c under load, 33c idle.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: I have been wandering in AMDland since the pentium 3. Intel has won me back with this one.

Intel Core2Duo is fast!
Pros: very fast chip! replaced my pentium D with this chip, HUGE difference. would reccomend to anyone.runs nice and cool idle 27C max load so far while gaming was 51C. Good overclocker too!
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: if your shopping for a new processor that does not break your wallet this is the one for you. it will not dissapoint anyone!!!

Overclocker's dream
Pros: Best value and performance from a chip at any price. Overclocked to 2.4 ghz with ease. Allendale core stresses boards less than the Conroes do. Is still pretty quick at stock speeds.
Cons: Wasn't free, cooler isn't sufficient for overclocking
Other Thoughts: Buy an aftermarket cooler, good thermal paste, and make sure your power supply is up to the task. I've had it up to 3.3 ghz but settled on 2.8 ghz with my Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 mobo, 2 gigs of GSkill DDR2-800, eVGA 7600gt, Antec tru power 550 watt power supply and Artic Cooling Freezer.

Best Bang for your $
Pros: Easily overclocks to 2.7Ghz without any issues running at 37C. Have it running in a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L, cooled with a Zalman 120mm cooling fan/heatsink, with 2Gb of Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 OC to 900, & MSI NX8600GT OC to 580. So far 100x better than old celeron system.
Cons: Comes with a cheap standard heatsink and fan that I have to get rid of now. Would have been better to have the option to not have this at all.
Other Thoughts: Spend the extra money on a good PSU the first time, learned by getting a cheap one and then buying one at Office Max for an inflated price. Should have ordered a good one from Newegg right off the get-go.

Good Processor
Pros: Had this for a few days now and it blows away my old Athlon XP processor. I used these processors at work on laptops and they are faster than anything in the building. I'm sure the Core 2 Duo Extreme is even better.
Cons: None, although the clamps on the heatsink/fan are a little flimsy. You get what you pay for though, and the processor is what I was looking for.
Other Thoughts: Recommend to anyone!

fierce
Pros: great lilk chip that is capable of giving its bigger cousins a run for there money. easly overclockable as long as you have the proper cooling devices.
Cons: like everyone else, the Heatsink and fan are gargage. i got an ASUS P5A2-8SB3W 80MM CPU Cooler and it keeps my CPU nice and cold
Other Thoughts: get it you wont be dissapointed! great for those budget builders like myself.

Great Chip
Pros: This is a great, inexpensive chip! easily overclocked on my MST P35 MB. Nice and stable. great for Video gaming with the 2MB cache. better than my old prescott P4 3GHz with HT.
Cons: Nadda
Other Thoughts: PS: all the E4300 are L2 stepping, they don't come M0! thats a plus... i think... thx Newegg :)

Best investment ever!
Pros: Overclocked it to 2.4Ghz using stock fan no problems at all. (Limit of my board) This is definitely the best investment I ever made. Upgraded from a P4 3.0 - 1GB RAM - Intel 865 Motherboard setup, night and day difference in performance.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA LGA 775 VIA PT880 Ultra = $xx ------- G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) = $xx ------- Overclocking this baby to 2.4 Ghz with stock fan = Priceless

Awesome Bang for Buck!
Pros: Have this baby running at 3.0Ghz with stock cooling (1333 FSB). Even after intense gaming, I haven't seem the temps get over 46C with SpeedFan
Cons: Haven't found anything that I don't like

Great little overclocker
Pros: Excellent cpu and well worth the money. Got it running at 3.2ghz stable which blows away the most expensive intels. If you're thinking quad, get this, overclock it like crazy and wait till 45nm.
Cons: None so far, small cache doesn't seem to affect speed.
Other Thoughts: If you want a cheap overclocking monster, then look no further, except I believe a newer model with x10 multiplier may be coming soon.

Great Overclocker!
Pros: Stable at 3.2 no problems. Core Temp 47c under load.Fun little engine to play with. Can't beat the price.Go with an 8x multiplier, push the clock much easier.
Cons: Cons are you kidding for this speed at this price. I DON'T THINK SO!

A Perfect 10
Pros: 445x9 = 4005Mhz...I'm water cooling this beast and it is ferocious. obviously the wattage is huge because of the over clock....but my is it justified
Cons: heat dissipation. running at 42c in ambient 22c...still good though
Other Thoughts: winner

Great Value!
Pros: Twice+ as fast as my old p4 ht 3.0 gigahertz. Very low price. Very stable.
Cons: None, worked like a charm. The stock cooler is weak. Get a real cooler to really get some bang for the buck.
Other Thoughts: This was my first build, the heat sink comes with thermal paste applied which i didn't know until i wiped it off. idles at 38 to 40 degrees, 58 to 60 on full load.

Solid chip
Pros: Core micro-architecture Dual Core Intel Stock HSF is perfectly adequated for stock performance Overclocks well (people often forget the days when overclocking required more than changing the FSB and rebooting) Excellent price/performance
Cons: None really
Other Thoughts: My take: - If you want to get in the door with a C2D without spending more money, this is a great chip.
- The Allendale cores feature a 2MB L2 cache as opposed to 4MB. This processor is going to serve you well for general productivity use, multitasking, regular multimedia, and gaming. Unless you're doing major video editing work, running F@H, SETI, BOINC, etc., or any other truly CPU intensive task with great frequency, the reduced cache will not be a noticeable penalty.
-A product that works exactly as advertised deserves 5 eggs. Not being able to overclock a C2D is caused by a poor motherboard or a few other things I won't say.
- I don't actually own this proc. but several of my friends do. They are very pleased with the performance. They're excellent overclockers and have pushed these chips to the limits. (3.85 ish)

3.0 GHZ Simple
Pros: This chip is simply Awesome- Over clocked to 3.0 on a MSI P6N SLI Platinum LGA775 Mobo in about 10 minutes. Just crank the FSB to 1333 MHZ in BIOS. ANYONE can overclock this. I put a $22 Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro it will not go over 40 c / 104 F under a full "stress test"
Cons: Price went up 10 $ since I bought it 4 months ago !
Other Thoughts: A 67% overclock and this thing doesn't even flinch.
Why spend more? If you installed this chip with a half way decent motherboard, you can learn to overclock it, even if you never have before.

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300
Pros: Great at overclocking (got it to 3.525GHz on a Thermaltake TMG i1)! Very fast and got me a awesome 3DMark06 Score.
Cons: Runs kinda hot on load.
Other Thoughts: I would have overclocked it to 3.6GHz but I thought it was running too hot so I'm going to wait for a liquid-cooling system.

EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS
Pros: Fast, cool running, easy install
Cons: Had a little trouble getting the fan to snap into the mb
Other Thoughts: Installed in a mach speed mb 945g with 2g of 667 ram. System very fast with 29-30c at idle up to 50-52c at load.

Runs hot but works good
Pros: Good performance for the price. Runs good stock. Got mine to 3.2 8x400 with slight bump in voltage. Runs fairly warm however 40c idle 68c loaded. Stock temps not much cooler this with thermaltake big tyhphoon. May need to lap but will see. So far so good at these speeds. Some report issues hitting above 370 fsb. Mine seems to be fine ran orthos
Cons: doesn't OC as high as other C2D chips but really 2.8-3.0 basically guaranteed, whats to complain about.
Other Thoughts: Worth the price. Easy.

A Sleeping Giant.
Pros: Pretty quick for being the lowest model of Core 2 Duo. Excellent power consumption and heat generation.
Cons: The E4XX series lacks hardware virtualization, which can make programs such as Xen and Virtual PC run extremely faster. If you don't run VMs, then this is not a factor.
Other Thoughts: The overclockability of this CPU is amazing. I have been running it at 2.38GHz since I've had it with no issues whatsoever. The performance increase this grants is phenomenal, and it runs only a couple of degrees hotter than normal (Even with the stock Intel heatsink/fan).

Performance x Cost = Value!
Pros: Cheapest of the bunch, even when I bought it a few months ago. Easily OC'd to 3.0 Ghz no problem, for me. A *huge* upgrade from my AMD XP3000+!
Cons: Didnt make my wildest dreams come true. No cons that werent advertised. 4m cache would be nice, but not needed.
Other Thoughts: GREAT processor that will last me until I can double my performance for the same price I paid for this. If you're a "middle of the road" PC'er, give it a try!

Pros: Hit a rock stable 2.7Ghz (300x9) easily on stock voltage (1.325v), 2.9Ghz (325x9) with a slight bump to 1.35v.
Cons: Hit a wall at about 3.0Ghz. It needed a massive voltage boost to 1.45v to get it to even boot into windows, 1.5v to get it somewhat stable.
Dropped it back down to 2.9Ghz for 24/7 use as the additional heat wasn't worth the tiny bump in performance.
Other Thoughts: Still a great cpu, an effortless 60% overclock is nothing to sneeze at.

Great lowcost overclocker
Pros: -Dual core -Easy overclocker -Inexpensive
Cons: -Stock aircooler isn't too great
Other Thoughts: This is one of the best core 2 duo processors you can buy if you're on a budget. The 200mhz FSB allows you an easy overclock to 3ghz without pushing your ram beyond its specs. Would recommend buying a good aircooler to get the most out of this processor.

Perfect chip for me.
Pros: Fast, highly overclockable, and kicks the pants out of the last generation cpu's. If you appreciate performance (but value economy) this chip's for you.
Cons: Runs a little warm in my small form factor case when compared to my AMD Athlon 3200. However... this processor is in a different league and the temps. are still well within safety margins.(Low to mid 40's C.)
Other Thoughts: I know that this chip has more powerful "Big Brothers", but for almost all needs this thing flat kicks it out. Paired it up with well featured AsROCK micro-ATX board,Zalman 7000 heatsink, and my little Antec Aria box is almost silent(While carrying a big stick!). Will overclock it, in the near future, just to see it's potential.

Excellent Budget CPU
Pros: Excellent for Price. Actual Dual Core as cheap as a Pent D. No problems at all with this CPU have ordered around 15 of them. None Were DOA all have lasted a while. Runs cool without overclocking.
Cons: None

Amazing.
Pros: Overclocked to 3.2ghz on air, 1.25vcore stable with gigabyte ds3, 2gb gskill ddr2 800...but it runs a wee bit on the hot side with the current ds3 bios.
Cons: stock heatsink fan is quiet for the most part, but not completely silent.
Other Thoughts: Lovin it.

Excellent even not overclocked
Pros: Excellent performance, quiet retail fan.
Cons: None so far!
Other Thoughts: I am an avid overclocker complete with watercooling. I bought this CPU for now with the intention to later get a new waterblock and overclock it when I can upgrade the rest of my system.
However, even at Stock speeds I am very impressed with this CPU. With my (relatively) meager hardware I can run Supreme Commander on medium settings fine. Of course Battlefield 2 and UT2k4 no problem.
Currently using with 2x1GB DDR2 533, Radion X800XT AGP, and ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA.

Very overclockable
Pros: Great chip. Very overclockable. Power efficient.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Have an E4300 overclocked to 3GHz w/ no overvoltage (using a Thermalright XP-120 extreme). Great chip. Intel hit a home run w/ the Core 2 architecture - it's fast, power efficient, and runs cool.

good overclocker
Pros: it's running at 2.7 ghz perfectly stable, without voltage increase and on mediocre air cooling = I'm real happy... Temps are 28 C idle and around 50 C orthos load... during gaming it's around 40 C
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Soooooooo easy to overclock

2 Duo for less $$
Pros: If your trying to stay up with the times and purchase a 2 core, then this is the one to buy. Not the fastest or the biggest cache, will do the job. This ones good enough for the games and workes fine for any other app.
Cons: none really, it works as advertised....
Other Thoughts: execllent PCU for first time builders that are on a budget...

Awsome
Pros: Handles many applications at one time..but if only one application is open it runs it at same speed at my old amd3200+ socket A..for games its absoulutly wonderful...my old proccesor was bottlenecking my x1950pro and this baby gives me over 60fps or more on everygame..overclocked it to 2.6 on stock voltage wit cheap Asrock 880ultra mobo
Cons: runs hot 44C idle wit stock cooler
Other Thoughts: buy it

Great Purchase!
Pros: What's there to say that hasn't been already? Extremely easy overclock! I have it @ 2.7 on stock voltage and it still idles at about 28-30C!!
Cons: they aren't free.
Other Thoughts: totally smoked my 4000+ without OC, with not even in the conversation. Buy this cpu and save the $$ over anything but the 6600 and up (even then...)

Good Value
Pros: Stock cooler and paste work well, no need to buy the extras...
Chip seems to run very cool at stock speed.
Cons: Can't think of any...
Other Thoughts: Chip did not want to go in initially. I did not want to hear the great "SNAP" but it just seemed to go in with a little more pressure.

Great budget proc!
Pros: Awesome! Fast, easy installation (for the most part). It does what it needs to do.
Cons: The heatsink/fan installation is so tight it feels it will be on forever. Included thermal grease isn't very good.
Other Thoughts: Mine came with a faulty sensor :(

Good bang for buck!!!
Pros: OCed to 3.0GHz at stock voltage, and a nudge up to 1.40V vcore pushed it to 3.2GHz. Great value for the result achieved!
Cons: I couldn't wait until the impending price drop occurred, although I don't think this little cheapy will drop too significantly in price at that time.
Other Thoughts: Running on a Gigabyte DS3 Rev 3.3 and an Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro HSF, with 2G Corsair DDR2 800 - all purchased from the Egg of course!

For price can't be beat!
Pros: I've heard stories about the amazing overclockability of these CPUs. I haven't yet tried to overclock but can't wait to give it some stress. This is probably one of the fastest CPUs for the money out there right now. Get them while you can b/c they'll be phased out soon.
Cons: none

I hate this cpu!!!!
Pros: none that I have found.
Cons: ok im sick of people's reviews telling how good this processor is. I bought this cpu at friys electronics with a combo a couple months ago I have a 965p-ds3 mobo and arctic freezer 7 pro cooler with arctic 5 and wow all of the cpu i have had run very very hot!! They all idled at 45c and load was like 60c clerly i have no room to overclock at all!! I fastened the cooler perfectly soo I'm done with this cpu and selling it.
Other Thoughts: wow 3 cpu's and they all run very hot

WOW, what a overclocker
Pros: man this card can really scream, and like the reviewers before me this thing will overclock soooo good, i have it on a 680i mobo and dang, it blows my athlon 64 3500 at 2.55GHZ outta the water!
Cons: i wish it had the 4mb cache, but then again thats how they saved a ton of money...
Other Thoughts: buy it, you wont regret it!

INTEL CORE 2 DUO E4300
Pros: Excellent overclock on my nForce 680i SE (got it to 3.4GHz). Goes extremely fast and I get from 60-90 FPS on Battlefield: 2142.
Cons: It gets hot (after overclocking) when I run ORTHOS Prime Stress Test.
Other Thoughts: I'm running this on a Thermaltake TMG i1 and I'm currently getting about 40 degrees C.

Excellent Overclock
Pros: After a few weeks burn in period, I was able to overclock this to 3.04 GHz stable AT STOCK VOLTS. The vDroop brings it all the way down to 1.30v under load, and it still holds up. Idles at 40C and loads at 60C with the Mobo's fan controller and Tuniq Tower 120.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: There are many temperature readers that measure the temperature incorrectly (~15C colder than it really is). Use CoreTemp 0.95 because it gets its temperature directly from the Digital Thermal Sensor in the processor. The reason that some temperature readers (such as Easytune and Speedfan) show 15C lower than actual is that they assume that the Tjunction Maximum for the e4300 is 85C, when in fact, it is 100C.

Great Performer...if you're lucky.
Pros: It's quick right out of the box. No issues whatsoever when running at stock speeds. Runs relativeley cool at stock speeds and with a mild OC as well.
Cons: None really, unless you're unfortunate enough to receive a bad one.(subtracted two eggs because I got a bad one)
Other Thoughts: I paired this CPU with an ASUS P5N-E SLI mobo with the intent of OC'ing a bit. After trying everything under the sun I could not for the life of me get it to overclock past 2.4GHz and even then it was not very stable. I spent countless hours trying to figure out where I was going wrong, even went as far as purchasing a new Gigabyte mobo thinking I had a bunk ASUS mobo. When it refused to OC with the new mobo, I tried a different E4300 I had in another build and voila! overclocked to 3.0Ghz on the first try. Turns out my E4300 was to blame.

Great OC'er
Pros: Great Price, Great Overclocker
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Put this in a Gigabyte PS35-DS3R and immediately went to BIOS where I changed multiplier to 8x, FSB to 425 (memory is PC6400 at 1:1 divider), and changed voltage of cpu to 1.4v. Idles at 32C for Each Core with Arctic Cooling Freezer 7. I can overclock to 3.6 ghz but the memory fails memtest when I run the FSB too high. A legendary overclocking cpu like the celeron 300, barton 2500, p4 2.4c, etc of past that can hold you over for a while until Quad Core becomes affordable.

Amazing Processor
Pros: Using a Coolermaster Hyper TX-2 cooler on an MSI P6N SLI-FI motherboard, this thing went from stock 1.8GHz to 3.2Ghz without a fuss. I haven't tried pushing it much further because I really don't need that much more performance.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Don't hesitate on buying this processor, just do it.

Everything the reviews promise...
Pros: Overclocks beautifully. Right now with the vcore at 1.34v (just a tiny bit above stock, if I recall) it's running at 3ghz perfectly stable with stock cooling. It's an outright beast; it currently outperforms EVERY non quad core chip (at stock speeds) on the market if you crank the FSB up from 200 to 333mhz. I cannot impress enough just how happy I am with this beautiful chip. Thank you newegg, and and you intel. :D
Cons: Err... It... Smells like...Silicon?

Great Little CPU
Pros: Great Overclocker. Best Bang for the Buck. I was AMD for a while with the Barton XP and AMD64 but now I'm back with Intel as I'm always looking for the best performance for bang ratio. I was looking to build a new rig as my old rig that I had for 3 years stopped working & it was time also a sign for an upgrade. I wanted to get into the multi-core game but never could pull the trigger but this forced my hand. I wanted a Q6600 G0 stepping when prices came down but I couldn't wait any longer, I can always upgrade later.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I did a lot of research and made a list of what I wanted. My rig consists of CoolerMaster Centurion 5 Case, Xclio Goodpower 500W Power Supply, 2 x 1GB G.Skill PC6400 Ram, 8800GTS 320 video card, 2x Seagate 320gb HD in raid0, 1x Raptor 74gb using the Gigabyte P35-DS3R mobo. I have a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 cooling this cpu. I overclocked it immediately to 400FSB x 9 multiplier (3.6 ghz 1:1 memory divider 1.4v cpu) and it posted fine after that. Once Vista Installed SpeedFan reported both cores at 36C. I tried running it at 450 FSB (4 ghz) and it posted but there were stability issues. Anyways 3.6 ghz and the performance you get for this price is just amazing. After I ran this system I don’t need a Q6600, this is all the power I need. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Intel: Core 2 Duo E4300 1.8GHz
Pros: The price was excellent for making a jump from a Pentium 4 to a Core 2 Duo, but this processor is extremely impressive in speed in price.
Cons: This speed is obsolete, already, and this price will drop significantly on July 22nd, which will hurt much more later.
Other Thoughts: As always, shipping was an A+.

great cpu deal
Pros: This is currently the best value+performance+price cpu. Had 2 of them, one retail and one oem. Both overclocked easily from 1.8 to 2.88 GHz using Gigabyte 965p-ds3, ultra stable after many days of test. I think the retail version can be overlocked better than the oem version.
Cons: Stock cooler is impractical. It can only keep the cpu cool ~ 60 degC under load. However the 965 northbridge chip is > 100 degC and the ddr2 800 sticks are > 50 degC. Need good combo cooler for cpu+chipset+memory like Zalman.
Other Thoughts: Intel should either ship cpu without cooler or do better job with stock cooler.

Great budget chip
Pros: What can I say that hasn't already been said? Easy overclocker. Fast. Stable. Cheap.
Cons: Heatsink fan is a little noisy, but serviceable.
Other Thoughts: If on a budget, buy a mobo which will support this and the quad core. Then give your system a midlife kicker in a couple years when the quad cores are cheap.

Wow!
Pros: Blistering fast, insane overclocking ability with the right board and cooler. Was able to clock to 3 GHz (9x333) without even blinking.
Cons: Are you kidding me? Other than I now am completely hooked on the C2D performance over the X2 performance and have to leave the underdog?
Other Thoughts: Build this with an abit Fata1ty F-I90HD board and Ultra Microfly case with a Antec 500W PSU. Bought the chip elsewhere, and got the OEM version without the HSF. Wasn't necessary as I was planning on using a Zalman CNPS8000 anyway. Even at 3GHz, the heat pipes on my cooler are cool to the touch. This line of processors is completely insane as far as performance goes. This coming from a dedicated AMD user for the last 6 years or so. Fast stock, insanely fast overclocked. Not even sure how much this chip can go, and honestly, I don't know if I am going to push it, though it's quite clear there's a ton of headroom left. Sorry, AMD, but you guys have your work cut out for you.

E4300
Pros: Best overclocker i've EVER Bought! Went from 1.8Ghz to 3.2Ghz right out of the box. Also the fastest Processor ever, compare this to the 6700's and 6800'z When overclocked. Rurring @ 3.2 Vista gives this a 5.7 Rating. Would do near 4Ghz with faster Ram. Runs cool. 29*C Idle 39*C Load @ 3.2GHZ
Cons: None at all. Buy this and a Gigabyte A0965P-S3 and you will be a happy camper.
Other Thoughts: Intel has finally got it here. This is the best processor of theirs i've ever used. Im coming from a 3400+ 939, oh man big change in performance!.

++WOW++
Pros: *Where do i begin after just a half hour i have this thing clocked at 2.6 with a minor voltage adjustment. I have no desire to push it further. But its will take more no doubt It loads FAST.
* This thing has the best bang for buck ratio. and ocs nice
Cons: low low L2 cache (still great cpu)
Other Thoughts: If your gonna over clock dont get the expensive monster get this cpu or the version with 4mb cache

No Virtualization technology= vmware issues
Pros: Excellent overclocker for the price. I'm very stable at 3.25GHz with just a Zalman 9700 cooler and could juice another few % out of it but thought I'd stop here.
Cons: No Virtualization Technology results in VMware, Xen, Qemu or other virtualization software having limitations. eg. you can't run a 64-bit virtual machine.
Other Thoughts: Can't go wrong for the price, but recognize its limitations.

Great Price, great product
Pros: It ran perfectly in my new computer first try.... overclocks 2.1 ghz as if it didnt change speeds...
Cons: Not really any..
Other Thoughts: I was dumb and tried overclocking it like 2.4ghz, but... i know nothing of overclocking, so that was my fault it messed up a little..

Pros: Overclocked to past 3.6ghz, works great at 3.5ghz plus. This is with minimal voltage increase. This blows AMD out of water. Used to be AMD fan, until the C2O.

Pros: OC'ed to 2.8 gigs on stock vcore, stock cooling in a well vented case, temp never breaks 56c. Dual instances of prime95 torture test for 11 hours with 0 errors.
Cons: nada

Pros: Excellent overclocker. Currently running a 60% overclock and every thing's nice and stable, as well as cool. At the time I purchased it price was one hundred fourteen bucks, which is the best bang for the buck IMHO.
Cons: I have it running at 2.88GHz, but in order to get it to 3GHz it needs a whole lot of voltage for some reason to stay nice and stable. That brings the heat up, etc. I can live without the extra 120MHz though. Also there seems to be a FSB wall at 340MHz, but I am pretty sure it's my weak power supply. Low L2 Cache I guess is a bit on the down side.
Other Thoughts: 2.88GHz is a nice spot for this chip, as that goes perfectly with 800MHz ram (4:5 ratio) Bought a Zalman 9500 cooler to keep the temps down. Most temp reading programs I used weren't reading the temps properly. I really recommend SpeedFan for accuracy. All others I used were off by 15c. I know it seems weird to trust the word of one temp monitor over many, but sure enough the forums I've read say for this chip most monitors are 15c too high. I am running at 2.88GHz on 1.4v VCore, and I idle at 30c and load at 53c. Not too bad if you ask me. This thing right now is as strong as an E6700, and at a hundred bucks less. Super chip!

Nice chip!
Pros: Runs cool with stock cooler. Overclocks nicely with stock cooler as well. Worth every cent!
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I've got it running 2.13ghz @ stock voltage with stock cooler.

Awesome!
Pros: Very fast, can overclock very high, got it at 2GHZ so far but I am still playing with it...
Cons: I had major problems trying to get the heatsink to lock down, had to remove it multiple times, but got it.
Other Thoughts: Great for mid-range pc's. Asus P5N-E SLI

Great Deal
Pros: Great overclocker, very fast at stock speeds, even faster when OC'd.
Cons: None yet, but i can only get to 3285MHz on mine.(Haven't tried 1.4v yet)
Other Thoughts: I have this running at 2.9GHz right now, the voltage at 1.29(which is below stock) and its stable using Orthos for 7 hours(thats when i stopped it). My load temps now get about 62C. Im using a gigabyte DS3 and Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro. When OC'ed to 3.2GHz, SuperPi 1M finishes in about 19 seconds, compared to stock clock speeds which takes about 30. This is the first system I have built, and i am used to a P4 2.93GHz. This C2D compared to a P4 blows it out of the water. For the budget system, this is a must have.

GREAT AND FASSSSST
Pros: Has a multipler of 9 for easy overclocking ,Overclocks to 3.5gig at 1.45v
Cons: The HeatSink Fan that come with it,is no good if you want to do what this chip is capable of.You can get a cheap MassCool 8WA741 for $20 and it does a good job,I started to get another Zalman 9700 ,but I thought I would go cheap this time and bought a RoseWill RCX-Z3 and it keeps it cooler then my Zalman did at less then half the price.
Other Thoughts: This is the best Bank for the Bulk for a Intel CPU.I have a E6600 in my main rig ,but after looking at reviews the extra 2mb of cache made little difference in most games when running this chip at 3.2g to 3.5gig,IF You Want A Fast CPU at A Cheap Price the just click add to cart, you want regret it.

BEST BANK FOR THE BULK
Pros: What else can you say it is a Core 2 Duo,Overclocks like a Mother, will do 3.5g with voltage at 1.45v
Cons: There is no cons for this CPU ,unless you want to grip about the shoty little heatsink fan that comes with it ,You do need to buy a better CPU Cooler if you want the high overclocks. I can't say a extra 2mb of cache because that not want this is ,if you want 4mb of cache then go with a E6320
Other Thoughts: I am building a backup system ,and I hit the E6600 to add to cart ,like the one I have in my main system ,I got to looking a reviews and when this is running around 3.2g to 3.5g that 2mb of extra cache makes little difference, don't get me wrong in some games the extra cache helps ,but to me a few extra frames for a extra $100 is not really worth it,in my case.If you are looking for something cheap then you can't go wrong with the E4300

A Gem
Pros: Great bargain CPU for the overclocker. Got mine running with the rosewill cooler at 3.0ghz with a slight bump in voltage (0.075 increase). It has gone higher but 3.0ghz out of a 1.8ghz processor is plenty fast for me.
Cons: None.

good deal
Pros: Only just above a benjamin for a CPU that can outperform processors worth several benjamins. Have mine running at 2.7GHz on all stock voltages. Runs a lot cooler than my previous 3GHz p4.
Cons: Having some trouble breaking past 2.8GHz, but its probably because I haven't raised the voltage enough. Only 2mb cache, but I haven't noticed.
Other Thoughts: Buy this if you're on a budget, people can make this as fast as the much more expensive X6800!

Big Bang for The Buck
Pros: It's Simply much faster than my old P4 3.0g, even w/o overclocking. Now it's OC'd to 3.0 ghz w/ Tuniq 120 Fan. Only 28d under load.
Cons: Wish I could wait for the Quad to drop to 200+ bucks.
Other Thoughts: W/ the new P35 board from Gigabyte & Crucial Tech DDR2-800, it is a breeze to overclock for a first timer.

good processor
Pros: Very good processor and very overclockable. Under normal use my zalman keeps this thing at 31 deg. and I have never seen it over 35!! You can't beat this for the price.
Cons: None so far, works quite nicely.
Other Thoughts: Just get one. ~ASUS P5LD2 mobo; Intel C2Duo E4300; Zalman cooling fan; BFG 8600GTS~

Crispy
Pros: Just an all around solid proc. Running decently cool idle43/load55. First OC'ed to 2.4, then 2.7, now 3.0. Slapped a freezer pro on it from the start, although from other reviews may have been smarter to just stick with stock hsf.
Cons: Doesn't retrieve the morning paper
Other Thoughts: Setup as follows: 4300, freezer pro 7, CM cent5 case, corsair 6400 2gig, apevia 680watt, P5B deluxe, x1950xt

Pros: Solid chip. Mines OC'd at stock voltage to 2.4ghz. Doesn't seem like a lot to some, but it shouldn't affect the life of the chip as I've read the higher volts tend to do so.
Cons: Not as high OC on stock as I'd thought I'd get, but that's a minor issue. No OC's are guaranteed.
Other Thoughts: I may OC more in the future. Right now, she's a solid performer.

Great chip
Pros: Got this chip for one hundred and fourteen dollars when intel made the price cuts a little over a month and a half ago. Why pay two-thirty for a E6600 with only 2M more cache when you can get this for half the price. I got it up to 3.1GHz (344*9) with a zalman copper 7000 cooler which turns out to be about the same, maybe a SLIGHT bit better than the stock cooler (had it from a previous 939 build)
Cons: Temps are high at 3100. I really shouldnt complain since it was a 1300 MHz overclock, but I am about 44 to 45 idle per core in TAT and it rises to a max of about 72 per core orthos load. This is with the zalman 7000 that was reseated a few times, lapped, and using arctic silver 5 goo. I have a 120mm power supply fan above it, two 80mm fans for exhaust, a 140mm fan in front, and a 80mm fan on the side. I dont think temps should be this high, but oh well, it still works great
Other Thoughts: I'm in the same boat as the guy a few reviews down. E4300 @ 3.1, 2GB g-skill DDR2-800, gigabyte DS3 (1.3), 8800GTS 320mb OCed to 620/1000. 3dmark scores are as follows: 3D Mark 06 --- 11038 SM2.0 - 5003 HDR/SM3.0 - 5029 CPU score - 2630 3D Mark 05 - 16226. 3D Mark 03 - 34819. 3D Mark 2001SE - 42513. AquaMark 3.0 - 139,238. Lost Planet - Snow - 70. Cave - 54

Pros: Nice processor. Paired with a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R and 4GB of A-Data DDR2-800. Processor runs high 20's at idle with retail HSF. High 30's at load. Briefly overclocked to 2.4GHZ. Ran at mid 50's at load with retail HSF.
Cons: None so far.

Pros: Cheap C2D, Super easy to overclock. Got this baby to 2.8ghz with stock cooling on a MSI P6N-SLI, full gaming load temps run at around 40c-42c with stock cooling. Nice.
Cons: Heatsink installation. These pushtabs suck.
Other Thoughts: Buy it. Its just that easy. If you on a budget and a need a fast chip this is the way to go.

Fast
Pros: Upgraded from an AMD 2800 and as you would suspect, there is no comparson. Video rendering is now very fast.
Cons: Even though seated successfully, the stock cooling fan didn't give me comforting locking sound on all four locking pins
Other Thoughts: Installed on ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA LGA 775 VIA PT880 Ultra ATX Intel Motherboard and they work and play well together. Used 1.5 gig of old DDR 400 memory and old IDE drives to keep upgrade costs down. I'm a happy camper.

Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 Allendale, WINTEC AMPO 1GB DDR2, MSI GeForce 8600GTS OC'd Edition.

Highly recomended
Pros: Great overclocker, got my to 2.97 with Gigabyte DS3 Rev 3.3, 2gb Gskill ddr2 800, and saphire x1950xt with stock cooler.
Cons: Price, $100.00 for this would be really nice.
