E6420 is a solid overclock
Pros: Overclocked with a Asus P5bDelux, on the MB had to change many options but I'm stable at 3.2 and its been just under a year. Great Chip!
Cons: none! if anything umm nope none!
Other Thoughts: i think the mb helped with the overclock but great chip

great
Pros: first build. easy install. fan is pretty quiet. running WoW, bioshock at max settings and no issues (besides a bum video card). rips cds very fast. WoW used to hitch up a lot when running a site with flash ads--not anymore. can alt tab while running more than one processor intensive apps and pretty much no slowdown. best thing? haven't even overclocked yet.
Cons: no problems.
Other Thoughts: fan IS quiet, but seems to make a--ghostly?--whining sound. don't know if this is normal, or even actually the processor fan itself. i'll probably replace the stock someday, or see if manually turning up the fan speed stops it from slowing down/speeding up.

Couldnt be happier
Pros: CPU is awesome. I've been a long time AMD fan, but couldnt resist crossing over for a taste. Im hooked. This CPU performs 10x better than expected. Able to play games like CoD4 and AoC at max settings with no hiccups at all.
Cons: none at all
Other Thoughts: For the price you definately get a bang for your buck. Intel has definately won me over.

Pros: It does what Intel claims it does. What more do you want?
Cons: Buggy microcode. Then again, all processor vendors seem to be shipping processors with code bugs, as they seem driven more by market demand than pure technical excellence. The errata listed in the processor documentation (see http://download.intel.com/design/processor/specupdt/313279.pdf) listed over a hundred bugs the last time I checked.

Blazing fast yet ice cold.
Pros: Runs incredibly fast, even at stock. Smoked my old Pentium 4 in everything at stock. Overclocked to 3.4Ghz and it ran even faster. Also cool as could possibly be. Ran at 55C at the highest, even 1.3Ghz over stock.
Cons: Intel hasn't dropped its price that much in the past couple of months. Processors now are better value than this one is.

Jet Speed
Pros: For the price and the spec this is a rocking fast chip
Cons: Dont overclock you will learn the power of FIRE ! I run all my CPU's stock clock and they still perform
Other Thoughts: Its not AMD

Core 2 is the way to go
Pros: This thing performs like a champ. I went from a p4 3.4 to this and the difference is amazing. Everything: games, photo editing, multi-program browsing runs faster with this CPU.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: This thing also runs really cool. It runs so much cooler than the p4 I can't believe it (about a 10-15 Celsius decrease).

Vista? Go higher
Pros: Great processor for the price! High cache
Cons: If you are using Windows Vista Premium/Ultimate, I would recommend you go a little higher in speed.

A#1
Pros: Ive been running this CPU at 3gig for about 8 months now tied to an EVGA 680i SLI MOBO, with out a hitch. I had it to 3.2gig but backed off to 3gig with no noticible differance in proformance. It runs cool enough with the thermaltake-TMG i 1 and a pair of 8600GTS 256MB ddr3 cards and 2gig of balistic RAM 1066Meg.
Cons: It refuses to do the dishes. im jelous of the price drop but i guess thats progress.
Other Thoughts: Its running XPpro-I havent tryed it on VISTA yet but i dont expect there will be much differance.

Works great in my Asus C90s laptop!!!
Pros: For starters, the C90s is a 15.4" laptop from Asus designed to use the Conroe processors up to the X6800. When I ordered mine in august of 07 this was a $180 option for the processor. It has performed beautifully. The C90s comes with a stock voerclocking program called "turbo gear" and 4x40mm fans in the back in a housing unit called the "turbo engine" to provide for adequate cooling. I regularly have this thing at 2.55ghz/1.3ghz fsb with no problems at all. I also had AS 5 put on and this thing runs like a champ. Just upgraded my ram from 2 to 4 gb and I'm still killing brand new laptops that cost more than mine did ($1500 on the dot)
Cons: None really. I guess there are faster processors? But they cost a lot more money. This little guy is a giant killer when used right.
Other Thoughts: Asus C90s - 4gb of G.Skill 667mhz ram, 160gb HD, E6420 OC'd to 2.55ghz, 8600gt OC'd to...amazing, "turbo engine" - 4x40mm fans w/ AS 5 for cooling, custom cooling mods to case, 15.4" 1650x1080 glossy widescreen.
My laptop = win

Awesome
Pros: Coming from an AMD Athlon XP 2600, I'm seeing huge improvements with my new system and the E6420. With the µGuru BIOS utility featured with the Abit IP35-Pro, I have no problems booting Windows XP 32-bit with the FSB set at 400MHz (8x multiplier) giving me 3.2GHz. I've been able to handle both the 32M and the 1024 tests through wPrime with no errors. I've brought it down since then to 2.56GHz, so I'm not entirely sure of stability. A friend of mine can't get his system to boot after overclocking his E6600 to above 3.0GHz, but he's a novice like myself.
Please do your research. I went with this CPU because of the praise of the 8x multiplier and it seems to have paid off while combining it with the Abit IP35-Pro.
Cons: Didn't come with any cool stickers.
Other Thoughts: Luckily for me, this didn't come with any generic thermal compound. The stock cooler is sitting in the corner of my apartment. I used Arctic Silver 5 and a Zalman cooler instead - 18-20° idle @ 2.56GHz.
System: Antec Performance One P180 Case, Antec Earthwatts EA500 (500w) PSU, Abit IP35 Pro Motherboard, Intel Core2Duo E6420 CPU, Arctic Silver 5, Zalman CNPS8700 Heat Sink, 2x 1GB OCZ Titanium XTC DDR2-800 RAM, WD 36GB 10,000RPM (OS) HDD1, WD 160GB 7200RPM HDD2, Asus EN7200GS GeForce 256M 65-bit PCIEx16 Video Card -- This is for a simple DAW setup utilizing the Edirol FA66 Firewire Audio Interface.

Over 75% over-clockable
Pros: Extremely competitive and durable processor for low cost. One of the few computer parts that i have watched go UP in price while still in production more than 6 months later. Not by much though, dont worry. This processor over-clocks just past 3.0 on most ASUS boards that i tested it on. This was all done by keeping voltage on auto or 1.4v-
Cons: Not as much on board memory as like the really expensive processors? That is about it. You can make up for almost all else by over-clocking it a bit.
Other Thoughts: I attained 3.464-3.467Ghz with a 1.733Ghz Rated FSB. This was on a EVGA 780i SLI motherboard with Vcore left at Auto which i couldnt do with other boards. 8x433.3 is the stepping i used. Memory went to 1.155Ghz when i did this with Crucial Ballistix.

Best buy in the lineup
Pros: Looked at the entire line, read all the reviews and specs. This one is right in the sweet spot. If you've got the right mobo and cooler, you can OC this guy easy to 3.2 and beyond. Don't cheap out on the cooler, and read up on how to OC.
Cons: A little pricey if you don't OC, but otherwise well worth it.

Ran Too Hot
Pros: The CPU itself is just fine. My beef is with the boxed cooler.
Cons: The CPU idle temperature hovered around 50-55C. When I launched a game, I immediately got a 68C high temperature alarm. Yes, I installed the cooler correctly. I even reinstalled it with a brand name silver heat transfer paste.
Other Thoughts: I'm running Windows XP Home, Intel 35DP35 mobo, 4 X 1 Gb Corsair 800Mhz RAM, XFX 8600 GTS video card. (All purchased from Newegg.)
I junked the stock cooler and installed a Zalman CNPS9500 LED CPU cooler. CPU Idle temp = 30-33 C 100% CPU usage = 33-37 C
This cooler looks awesome in my Antec 900 gaming case (three blue LED fans). All fans are set to lowest speed setting including the CPU cooler.

Of couser it overclocks
Pros: it works and works good when overclocked. Lots of proformance gained with overcolocked. I bought this 30dollars cheaper. LOts of volatge room 0.84-1.5volts That means plenty of room to overclock. 65nm keep its cool enough. 45nm would be better but hey it rocks.
Cons: The Shared 4mb but oh well. Stop blowing this chip up do to Mulitipler. ITS THE VOLTS!. YOU ARE ALREADY OVER CLOCKING THE VOLTS ONCE YOU DROP IT IN A BOARD THAT CAN NOT GO BELOW 1.3Volts!
Other Thoughts: Can't beileve price went up an is staying after a year. Just becasue you board picks 1.3 or 1.35volts does not mean its stock voltage LOL. This cpu can go to 0.84volts! Thats stock it has a swing of up to 1.5volts max. Which will make any chip great for overclocking its not the 8x. I have not touched my Mulitplier and i hit 400fsb which is 3.2ghz at 1.35volts. Get a board that will give you a nice range of volts. thats it.

NO chance to use yet
Pros: Did research on cpu overall had got ratings. Much faster than my last cpu which was the intel pentuim D which was a good cpu too.
Cons: Not sure if I have to rma. had problem trying to reinstall my my os had it on a tripple boot before but ran into a laundry list time around.
Other Thoughts: Had i known that my motherboard could take something the 6850 I would have purchased that one as it was cheaper than this one. But this was a good processor I would recommend this to anyone. Just make sure you go to the manufactures site for updates on mb and to see what it can take.

GREAT for overclocking!
Pros: AMAZING for overclocking, pretty good stock, runs cool, low power consumption
Cons: None really
Other Thoughts: This is AWESOME to overclock with! I overclocked it from 2.13Ghz to 3.2Ghz on the stock voltage! Needless to say it runs really cool. At 3.2Ghz, on a FULL load, it doesn't go over 120 degrees fahrenheit. Even stock, it can play most games out there just fine.

Great proc
Pros: This thing is great (upgraded from a p4 2.8ghz). Booted up fine, oced stable to 3.2ghz on stock voltage (tested both cores in prime 95 for about 6 hours and other benches). With zalman 9500 I get about 45c load in the winter and 50 in the summer.
Cons: now obsolete 65nm tech
Other Thoughts: Used with gigabyte p965 revision board. Gaming is smooth as ever and video conversions are super quick. If your considering this, you may want to look into upcoming 45nm equivalents.

It's got the power and then some
Pros: This thing has never given me issues. I OC'd it to 3.2 GHz and it runs around 48 degrees C on air with a load. 33 degrees C idle. I have the IP35-E motherboard so I just bumped up the clock speed. I had it at 2.8 GHz for a long time but figured what the heck, it's done so good. Not bad for 200 bucks. No wonder it's more than the newer, faster ones!
Cons: I can't take it with me wherever I go.
Other Thoughts: Newegg just doesn't know how to let their customers down, I bought all my computer parts except for the case and PS from them. I never regret coming here. Shipping is a dream. Thanks Newegg!

Over Clocking Maniac
Pros: This is one AWESOME CPU that is a over clockers dream!! I have mine over clocked to 3.41ghz/ 1.70volts and running stable with room to spare. With my cpu cooler "Cooler Master Gemin II" and two 120mm 2 ball bearing fans, my idle temps are 19.4c and when in full load playing COD4, BF2142, F.E.A.R. or DFX my temps are no higher than 36c to 38c.
Cons: none so far
Other Thoughts: I've heard of people over clocking to 3.7ghz so this is my next step. Just think your getting over 1ghz more with out having to spend the money for a E6600, E6750 or E6850. My gaming has reach a all new level. I'm sure the other items I have helped like my MB DFI Infinity 965, 4gb Mushkin ram over clocked to 851mhz/2.3 volts, Cross Fired my ATI 2900XT video cards, Razor Barracuda AC-1 7.1 Sound card, all in an Antec 900 Case with a 750wt Thermaltake PS and all the fans (6 120mm & ofcourse the 200mm top fan). I couldn't be more happy!!!

Soooo Reliable
Pros: *Great Overclock at 3.2, could go higher *Been Running stable for 7 months *FAST *Sturdy, no thanks to a faulty motherboard *NEVER have had any problems
Cons: too fast... the heatsink should be replaced if you plan to overclock.
Other Thoughts: What a great processor! I bought it last June and have loved it ever since. I have an easy overclock to 3.2ghz and it has been running stable for more more than 7 months. I have a tuniq tower mounted on top, so I have no problems with heat. It is really sturdy as well... I had to shove the processor mounter into place when assembling the machine; I didn't want to take the time to RMA my P35. All in all, It is one of the smartest investments I put into my machine.

Cons: Umm wont do 4ghz?
Other Thoughts: It wasnt cheaper when i bought it...

Really really nice!
Pros: Upgraded from my pentium D processor (OC'd to 3.5) to this. It's amazing how much better it is! I got this to 2.7 on stock voltages on my EVGA 680i LT mobo. Using 3dMark 06, my cpu score when from 1500 to 2300. Made a huge difference to gaming. Gets me about 5-8 fps more on all games but also really helped on heavy load scenes. I don't go below 30 fps now on the games I play, but then again I don't play any of the newer ones (WC3, HL2 seires, BF 2142). Using a 7900 gs by the way.
Cons: I spend less time doing my work now...
Other Thoughts: Freakin' awesome CPU. Though if I had actually bought it, and not gotten it from my dad, I would've just gotten a quad core for 100 more.

Intel...What else needs to be said?
Pros: Very stable. 4M Cache. Great overclockability. Runs extremely cool overclocked.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Running at 2.66 GHZ on an Asus P5LD2 R2.0 MB with 2GB OCZ Gold PC5400 memory in a Cooler Master Cavalier 3 case with stock INTEL cooling. Added an 80mm Enermax fan on the side of the case. RAID0 utilizing WD 1600YS drives with a WD740ADFD drive partitioned to a FAT32 pagefile partition and a NTFS scratch disk partition. With Prime 95 on both cores, temps are 28C idle and 46C full load at stock voltage on the processor, read with Asus Probe. Room temp at 72F. This processor will overclock much much more but I have no need as I do not play games. LGA775 heatsink mounting is very sturdy if you don't play basketball with your computer as the ball!! All items in my system were purchased thru Newegg.

more for same
Pros: its INTEL. runs cooler than a 478 socket OC capabilities are endless with the right cooling and board.
Cons: jumpy price??? why up and down??
Other Thoughts: it seems prudent to pay for less when you can have more for the same price(first rule in gov. spending) I.E. the E6400 ver. of this sells for the exact same but only 2m shared..

Fast and Cool!
Pros: Fast dual-core processor. With the supplied heat sink and fan, it runs at not much over room temperature most of the time -- a good 20 degrees Celsius lower than the 1.2 GHz Pentium-3 currently sitting just a couple of feet away from it. (No, I'm not overclocking either of them.)
Cons: None, really, though I'm not crazy about the plastic things that hold the heat sink/fan in place.

No complaints
Pros: For the vast majority of people, buying computer components is a matter of making tradeoffs over price and performance. The E6420 Conroe gives you a lot of the latter for former. Its larger 4MB shared cache probably has a lot to do with that; the E6400 has only 2MB. I do a bit of video editing, and this chip has handled everything I've thrown at it without a problem.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: I haven't tried overclocking and can't comment on how well it would do at that. Run as is, it usually stabilizes at around 50-55 C.

incredible price v performance
Pros: this thing rules. i bought it the week it came out and i haven't looked back. this processor replaced a 3 Ghz p4 that i had oc'ed to 3.8, and this thing beats the p4 by a large margin in all benches, games and tasks. even while at stock clocks. finally owning a cpu which has the ability to multi-task efficiently is great. comp boots faster, loads faster and just generally flies. all games run smoother with a small fps boost. new egg was great as usual.
Cons: none really
Other Thoughts: great oc'er! i got this thing up to 3.2 Ghz. on a gigabyte p35c-ds3r (also from new egg). all i had to do was up the cpu volts towards 1.4. i could go higher, but why bother. with a zalman 9700 temps barely reach 50C under load using orthos overnight.

Very nice!
Pros: This is a speed demon! highly overclockable. I overclocked mine to 3.25, where it was slightly unstable. I run it now at 3.0, with no problems!
Cons: um......
Other Thoughts: very nice! runs cool with air cooling (Zalman 9700) and I don't think I've really taxed it at all yet!

C2Duo Rocks
Pros: I put this thing into a P5SNLI Asus mobo and it went straight to 2.13 GHz on Ultra Cooling Never even fliched. However,I need to O/C this one.I never even heard of FSB voltage being adjustable.
Cons: None at all

Most stable CPU I've ever had
Pros: Fast, fast, fast. Got mine a several months ago for a bit less than they sell for now :)
Cons: It won't flush my toilet.
Other Thoughts: I put this thing into a 650i ultra mobo and it went straight to 3GHz on stock vcore and cooling. Never even fliched. However, anything more and I need to goof with the three voltage settings in BIOS: FSB volts, CPU volts and Northbridge volts. I never even heard of FSB voltage being adjustable... Running now at 8x 375MHz. Read more about my chipset and I can likely get this core to 3.4-3.8 since I've installed an aftermarket 0-therm, but I'm not interested in the excessive tweaking required to get it. It really is (dare I say) fast enough like it is. 160k+ in AQmark, 6k+ PCMark '05, 9k+ in 3DMark '06, when paired with 2x 1Gb Gskeel DDR2-800. Slightly smaller scores in Vista vs. XP

Umm
Pros: .
Cons: .
Other Thoughts: just thinking if you go to sites like toms hardware that says the athlon 64 x2 5000+ black edition and this processor have extremely close performances black just loses by like 1 fps... why would you buy this processor?? it cost 70 bucks more, im not trying to bash or anything im just wondering

A true powerhouse!
Pros: I fianlly upgraded to dual core goodness. This chip rocks hard! Easily went to 3.0ghz on a GA-P35-DS4 board with stock cooler and volts, never broke a sweat. Eats everything you can throw at it, and asks for more. Even at the stock 2.13ghz this chip is crazy fast. By far the best CPU I've owned. Run some CPU intensive stuff and watch this chip laugh it off!
Cons: Needs a fast board and RAM to fully unlock the chips potential. Or else you are really holding it back!
Other Thoughts: Super pi 1M in under 17 seconds!

This one goes to 2.
Pros: What can I say about this CPU? It has 2 cores, runs really smoothly, and it is faster than me on a treadmill chasing after a Twinkie. Absolutely great CPU for the more-than-average business-person and really great for the "relaxed" gamer.
Cons: It does not go to 11.
Other Thoughts: My first experience with the Dual-Core CPU's and the LGA 775 socket. I opened the box expecting to see pins on the CPU and alas, there were not any. I about flipped because I thought that someone cut them off...until I read the fine-print. ^_^ Definatley a good price for a better than average CPU.

Better
Pros: I was running a old Celeron for a long time so no need to really say this one is faster. I havnt had any problems with it at all. Easy to install if thats usually an issue. The heatsink on that comes with it works really well to keep it cool. I leave my comp on alot and I havnt had any issues in the 5 months of owning it.
Cons: None so far. Overall an excellent product.
Other Thoughts: I'm going for an after market cooler and a better case than I already have for better air flow. Thats just a personal prefference though. I'd be fine rinning my PC as it is now with the stock CPU cooler.

Great CPU
Pros: Great CPU for the price. 4M L2 cache really make the difference. Thanks NEWEGG!!!
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Great buy. At the price where the E6300 use to be at. Makes no sence not to buy considering you get 4M L2 cache unless you are upgrading to 4 Core CPU.

Good middle-of-the-road solution
Pros: Easy overclock to 3.2Ghz on AIR. Typical Intel quality. Simple to install.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: This is a great compromise between the high and low-end Core processors. Most boards that support this proc can easily be upgraded with a quad unit when those prices come down. In the meantime, I've got a 24/7 70% overclock easy as pie. Great value for the money. Using ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus, 4GB G.SKILL PC2-6400 mem, 2x Foxconn 8800gtx, WD raptor, games just fly.

Outstanding
Pros: This thing is absolutely amazing!!! I currently have it overclocked to 2.8 ghz with the stock heat sink fan. It idles at 15 to 25 degrees celcius. After Shutting down GHOST RECON ADVANCED WARFIGHTER 2 it is only at 35 celcius, and that is with the stock heat sink fan. I figure I can easly overclock it to 3.4 ghz. Dont wait to buy this great proccessor you wont reget it.
Cons: It dosent clean my room or make my breakfast!!!
Other Thoughts: ASUS P5LD2 Mobo, 2 GIGS Of kingston ram, 512 MEG NVIDIA GEFORCE 8600 GT, 500 GIGABYTE Seagate Barracuda.

Excellent CPU for 1066mhz FSB mobo's
Pros: Just about everything. Fast, affordable, great overclocking. They run cool. I'm running mine on the stock heatsink, and I get nice temps.
Cons: Price. The newer, 1333mhz FSB Core 2 Duo's are faster and cheaper. If your motherboard supports CPU's with a 1333mhz FSB, you can get an E6750 for the same price.
Other Thoughts: Don't be fooled by the clock speed on this and other Core 2 Duo CPUs. Even though its only 2.13Ghz, its far superior architecture yeilds much more performance per Ghz than other CPU's, with a higher clock speeds. Just because its not 3 Ghz, doesn't mean its not fast.

Overclocks Like a Dream
Pros: Let me first say that Intel has really done something special with their processors. IMO, they are not overpriced for what they offer considering the wide range of overclocking options these processors have.
I currently have this baby running @ 3.4ghz stable through 24+ hours of dual Prime 95
Cons: Doesn't read me bedtime stories.
Other Thoughts: I previously had a E6300 that ran hot. I had it on a mild overclock @ 2.45 ghz and it would idle around 40c and load around 60c even with the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro.
Same heatsink setup on the E6420 running at 3.4ghz and it idles around 30c and loads around 55c-56c with case fans on high speed.

Best Core 2 duo
Pros: This is the best processor for the price. The speed on this baby is crazy. You can overclock to 2.8 GHz easy without much over heating. I got it up to 3.2GHz on the stock cooler.
Cons: Could be cheaper?
Other Thoughts: if your in the market for a new processor go for the E6420. This is better then the Quad core. cheaper!!!!!

Eat Your Heart Out
Pros: Where do I start? This is one of the best cpu's I've ever used and trust me I've seen more than most!(I still have my commodore vic20!)I've had this cpu oc'd to 3GHz from day one on slightly more than stock voltage and it idles at 32C.Under full load 56C.I'm in the business of building and repiar of pc's and this one is in my personal machine.I haven't been able to slow it down yet.I wanted the e6600 but I'm glad I saved the $50 difference. The performance is the same.
Cons: None whatsoever!
Other Thoughts: D975XBX2,XFX 8600GT Fatal1ty,e6420 oc'd to 3GHz,2Gb Geil Back Dragon DDR2 800,Samsung 320Gb sata,Samsung 18X ide DVD burner,Samsung Floppy(Yes I said floppy!)All from NewEgg.NewEgg Rocks the World!

Insane
Pros: Incredibly low temps even on air cooling, just like all the other C2Ds. Easily overclockable with the right mainboard and knowledge.
Cons: E6550 model was less expensive and provides higher stock clocks.
Other Thoughts: I suggest getting a new 1333 MHz C2D instead of a 1066 MHz model, or go straight for the "quad" cores.

Beware the Stock Cooler!
Pros: It's rugged, will run for a a while at 82C
Cons: It needs to be rugged with the Junk Heatsink Fan it ships with.
Other Thoughts: Looks like a commitee of GM and Ford Engineers designed the Plastic-Junk Heatsink Fan. It barely locks onto the Motherboard, and pops loose easily.

Nice CPU
Pros: Fast! This, coupled with my 7800 GS have now allowed me to play Oblivion, FEAR, Doom 3, Gothic 3, C&C Tiberium Wars at max res with about 40-60 FPS.
Cons: None really.
Other Thoughts: Make sure you get this one not the 6400 because the L2 cache is twice as big and you can tell the difference.

No Problems
Pros: Worked with no problems. I like that the stock cooler was easy to attach and didn't need any paste. Haven't tried overclocking yet but will in the future.
Cons: None. My computer reboots itself every once in a while, but I think that is either the motherboard or Vista.
Other Thoughts: CPU: Intel E6420; MB: Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R; RAM: 2GB OCZ DDR2-1066; HD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB; OS: Vista Home Premium 32; OPTICAL: Lite-On LH-20AS1; PSU: Seasonic M12 500W; GPU: EVGA 8600GTS;

Overclocks Easily
Pros: I slapped it into a MSI P6N Platinum Mobo and got it running at 2.4 Ghz without tweaking. Required a slight voltage increase (to 1.352 V) to pump it to 2.8Ghz on stock cooling. Runs cool and stable. Easy to overclock, very easy.
Cons: None really.
Other Thoughts: I've read of people pushing this to 3.2 GHz. I am happy at 2.8 without having to mess with more cooling. What a deal, a 2.8 GHz CPU for less than $200.00. Not to mention the 4 meg L2 Cash!!!

Great chip!
Pros: Very good overclocker. With only the stock HSF, 0.0125v more juice, it is running at 1500Mhz fsb fully stable. That's 3.0 GHz. I tried 1600 Mhz, but will not post. I believe with a better HSF and more juice to the core, it probably will do just fine.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: It will almost certainly run at 1333Mhz fsb, beats the 6750 easily. Just pick an overclocking motherboard.

Cons: none

Could not be Happier
Pros: Could not have been happier with this chip! Wanted the best compromise between cost & performance. This was it! The 4mb cache and 8.0 Multiplier is great. Did I mention it's a Conroe?
OC capabilities are phenomenon. I have mine at 3.0ghz at a very conservative setting! Faster than any duo core right now!
Cons: None, other than it wasn't free.
Other Thoughts: Get the OEM version and buy a nice Air cooler!

Excellent CPU
Pros: Easily overclocked, runs cool and exceptionally stable. Intel doubled the L2 cache on this revision.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Replaced the thermal interface material on the heatsink with Arctic Silver, then overclocked by 0.5 GHz without needing any extra cooling. Could go much higher if I felt the need. Excellent value for the price.

What so good about this?
Pros: It runs O.K. What is so good about this item? When y'all say it is fast, what standard of fast are you talking about? It doesn't look fast to me. Anyway, It works. No error. Just like my old P4 3.0Ghz
Cons: Everyone say "good, good", "fast, fast", and so on. Not to me~!

Great Buy.
Pros: This chip is amazing. I currently run it on a Gigabye GA-965p-DS3 motherboard at 3.2ghz 24 hour Orthos stable. On the stock cooler that came with the cpu. I did have to bump my voltage to 1.425 in bios (1.38v actual) in order to get the chip stable at this speed.. but it screams.
Cons: My temperatures are a bit high at 3.2ghz(57C under load), the stock CPU cooler is a bit underpowered for this speed, so I would suggest getting an aftermarket cooler.
Other Thoughts: Wish I hadn't waited so long to purchase.. was waiting for price drops which didn't affect this chip to begin with. :(

Pros: This chip is excellent. After a week on stock speeds I overclocked it to 3.2GHZ no problem on a 680i SLI EVGA Board. It idles at 30C and 45C on load with AS 5 and an AC Freezer Pro 7 Fan. Stable after 24 Hrs in Orthos. Glad I got this chip.
Cons: It cost money

Simply Amazing
Pros: I went from a Slow Pentium D to this smoken baby. She's overclocked to 2.4 on stock heatsink and I feel that if I get a Ninja than I could hit 3.2 easy. Very stable and fast. A great buy.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: For the money and the difference from the E6600 to this E6420 I would grab this one. You can easily hit those speeds and anything above 3 is just bonus. At 2.13 its blazing fast.

Cons: With stock fan/heatsink, it can get pretty toasty. My comp kept freezing, so after a little troubleshooting, I realized it was overheating. Make sure you've got good airflow to keep this thing cool.
Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a P4 2.8 ghz. I had it overclocked to 3.2 Ghz. This thing at stock Ghz is blowing it away!

Phenomanal Processor
Pros: This extremely fast CPU along with a SATA hard drive allowed an extremely fast windows installation.
With a fresh clean system I can boot and be logged in in under 40 seconds.
Cons: Overall I have had no problems with the cpu itself.
Intels new heatsink system is funky. I prefer the old school socket A or K5
Other Thoughts: I havent yet gotten a chance to try a 64 bit.

Solid performance in an affordable package.
Pros: This is a great processor for a main stream computer. Handles some games pretty well also.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Install was super easy and the stock fan was good enough for me. I'm not OCing and my temps right now are 23C on both cores.
The fan has heat sync compound on it. This may be common sense, but as my first build, I wasn't expecting it until I slipped my fingers in it.

Awesome CPU
Pros: Easily oc'd to 3GHz. Handles programs and games like nothing. Excellent processor.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Kind of wish I waited a day before I bought this or else I could've gotten one of the newer CPUs.

The Empire Strikes Back
Pros: Very happy with new CPU. 8x Multi means that I overclocked to 3.2 GHz on cheapie generic DDR2-533 RAM (say what?!?) using 400x8. Runs much cooler and quieter than my old 2.4 GHz P4 Northwood.
Cons: Price. These are technically no longer the "youngest" products that Intel puts out there, so why keep the prices so high?
Other Thoughts: Everyone is talking about the 1333 FSB procs, but go with this one - it's more overclockable and allows you to use slower RAM at stock speeds.

Pros: 2.4 Ghz proc that I was able to OC to 3.0Ghz without any issues using an air cooled heat sink.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Quad-Core Procs have become competitively priced. But... This Processor should still be more than fast enough for all of the latest and greatest.

The best (and most economical) multitasking solution out there.
Pros: Extremely cool for a dual core! Mine idles around 30 C. The stock heatsink and fan seem to work fine - Intel is spot on again with knowing their own components. Even at 2.13 GHz, it runs circles around my relatively new AMD.
Cons: Mounting was a bit tricky. As others have said, I was a bit wary about the force needed to install both the processor and the HS/F. However, the wiring solution is great for compact spaces and my only other complaint would be Intel's pictorial installation guide.
Other Thoughts: I used this to replace an AMD Athlon 64 3800+ running at 2.4 GHz. The difference is noticeable, even without overclocking. I'd always been an AMD guy until now, as my computing needs have changed over the last few years. If you want to get more real work done in less time, the Core 2 Duo remains the right way to go!

Who needs an extreme?
Pros: Not much to say other than this CPU is freakin' awesome. With my Freezer pro 7 CPU fan. This C2D runs under load at 35c and idles at 28c. Handles threads like a seamstress. Overclocking on this cpu is especially easy thanks mostly to my MB's OC software, but you can take this CPU to its limits and it runs flawlessly. I love it! MB: Gigabyte P35C-DS3R (775) CPU: Duh GC: Nvidia GeForce 6800 GT OS: Windows XP Pro Case: Antec 900 MEM: Patriot 2GB(2@1GB)800Mhz DDR2 PC2
Cons: Didn't you just hear me say 'I Love it!'?
Other Thoughts: This baby processes so efficiantly that at idle times my Freezer Pro 7 CPU fan actually STOPS rotating for 5-6 secs at a time. Best CPU for the money I've ever bought. Thank you Newegg!

Rockin
Pros: I decided to do my first PC build this summer with a budget of 650, and this was the processor I went with. Works great and is a solid processor to build around.
Cons: Cons...none yet...hopefully none ever.
Other Thoughts: Haven't OCed it yet, that day will come (but in a while). Works very well with my evga 650i Mobo. Give it good RAM to work with and you won't be disappointed.

Still done have one that works
Pros: Couldnt tell ya
Cons: Going on two months and what will be my fourth - yes, i said fourth chip i still have yet to get one that works. I take that back... I had one that worked for 45 min before it died. This has been an absolute nightmare.
Other Thoughts: It just goes to show that some things are better bought locally. For what I saved buying from newegg over fXys i have spent sending it back to newegg, then waiting another week and a half for them to process the rma. Id rather have my money back and just buy it at fXys, if i get another that doesnt work, at least i can get a new one same day.

WOW.. Look out e6600!
Pros: To the reviewer below me. 3.8ghz is amazining!!! I purchased this processor and thought.. Ehhhh, 2.13ghz.. I thought it was going to take a little creative playing with my bus speeds and multiplier to get it to 3.0ghz. Little did I know that when I installed everything, and went to the BIOS on my eVGA 650i Ultra motherboard, that THIS processor was VERY overclockable. I set my vcore to 1.4v, my FSB voltage to 1.3v and increased my FSB to 400, keeping it UNLINKED. It's running a 1:1 ratio at 3.2ghz EFFORTLESSLY. Idle temps from CORETEMP.95 reports 29c-30c. I am using a Coolermaster Gemini 2. Since 3.2ghz came soooo easily, I feel this processor is EVERY BIT as capable to do 3.6ghz on AIR. I owned an E6600 in the past and it capped out around 3.4ghz (3.6ghz could be attained but the TEMPS and VOLTAGE were rediculously HIGH and it would NOT be stable enough to pass Orthos for anything over 30 minutes).
Cons: Absolutely NONE!
Other Thoughts: Don't let the 2.13ghz factory speed fool you. This processor is an overclockers dream. This processor is like its older brothers (e6600, e6700, x6800) as it has 4mb's of L2 Cache. This stock multiplier is 8, which is perfect for overclocking (400 FSB x 8 = 3.2ghz). (425 FSB x 8 = 3.4ghz). (450 FSB x 8 = 3.6ghz). If you are LUCKY enough to buy a gem E6420, 475 FSB x 8 = 3.8ghz. WOW!
I've been building computers for several years. This is simply an awesome product for an awesome price!

Amazing.
Pros: Cool, Fast, Easy overclocking, Good design.

intel 6420
Pros: duo and 4M L2 Cache... is $186
Cons: duo is enough to do everything that I want and i spent $186 for intel because i don't like spending too much money to intel. I believed I made good choice as I could.
Other Thoughts: Intel took money from everybody, whole world even space... XD

Buy it!
Pros: Double the L2 cache of the E6400; this baby has been flawless, and it devours video editing without even a burp. I've got it OC'd to 2.8, with the shipped fan and it's 44 degrees C.
Cons: I didn't invent it.
Other Thoughts: I've been an AMD guy since the Athlon design came out, but I'm no dummy, I go with the quality and Intel's the leader right now. Nice to see it, competition helps us all in the end.

Pros: Wow. Simply Wow. I previously had an Intel Celeron D 3.2ghz. This processor is about 3 times faster. In conjunction with the affordable RAM i got (Two, 1GB Corsair Pack) my computer now runs INSURGENCY normally 100-FPS in the middle of a battle (on high graphics). Runs Company of Heroes about 50FPS (on high graphics). Simply Amazing CPU especially for the price, highly reccomended!
Cons: Absolutely none so far.
Other Thoughts: U kidding me? What are you waiting for, buy this CPU you won't regret it. (just make sure its compatible with your MOBO!)

Love it
Pros: Love this processor, can't slow it down and games are smooth as silk.
Cons: None yet.
Other Thoughts: Upgraded from an Opty 165(oc'ed at 2.5Ghz) and there is already a huge difference not even clocked. Intel might have brought me back to their side with this processor.

Pros: Newer technology than its major competition's same-price-range.
Has quite a nice heatsink/fan that comes with it.
Cons: none.
Other Thoughts: I may become a new fan of Intel now.

A must-have!
Pros: 3.5 stable @ 1750 MHz FSB? I didn't believe it either, but it's true. I have it on an Asus P5N-E SLi and it never tops 50 C with a 30-dollar HSF (stuck in a bit of Arctic Silver under there). Paired with an 8800 GTS 320MB @ 640/970, it scored 10450 3DMarks. Boots fast, copies fast, burns fast, my computer is now the fastest system I've ever seen or used ;)
Multitasks like a beast. I've tried opening tons of applications at a time and nothing seems to stop it. Windows Task Manager reports 0% usage almost all of the time (except when gaming, burning discs, etc.). iTunes, Spybot S&D, DownThemAll, Firefox, Half-Life 2, all running butter smooth. When playing Half-Life 2, a quick tap of the windows key and in a split second I'm back on my desktop. systemrequirementslab.com reports speeds equivalent to a 7.88 GHz P4 ;)
Cons: Stock HSF wasn't sufficient when running at 3.5 GHz.
New E6550 and E6750 :( At least my OC will push my CPU further than those ;)
Other Thoughts: Intel's maze of boxes within boxes took me half an hour to open. :P
Maybe this was just for me, but it took quite a bit of effort latching the CPU into the socket. Maybe that's the mobo's problem. Hmph.

Talk about headroom...............
Pros: Wow. I have this overclocked to 3.33 Ghz and it works like a charm. I had problems with the E6700 overclocking well, but this baby does just fine. Make sure you have a well ventilated case and a good cpu heatsink if you plan to overclock. This is a great buy cause you get the 4 mb cache and then can just overclock the thing like hell.
Cons: Would like more ability in the multiplier department, but this did only cost 185 bucks, so I can't really complain.
Other Thoughts: have my pc-6400 at 960mhz compared to the default 800. timings 4-4-4-12. WICKED FAST!

Overclocker's Heaven
Pros: Runs 24x7 100% CPU usage @ 3.2GHz @ 1600MHz FSB STABLE with stock Intel cooler! ...in a micro ATX form factor case!!! The 4MB L2 Cache provides HUGE speed increase on applications that need it. My 6420 runs faster than my E6600 in identical machine.
Cons: Not many applications need 4MB L2 cache... still wouldn't consider a 2MB L2 chip though.
Other Thoughts: At this time in Intel's product cycle if you plan to OC stick with the 1066MHz FSB. They have higher multipliers and in most cases will run faster than 1333MHz and allow faster CPU speed. Works fine with last generation MOBOs. I recommend a P35 or G33 chipset for all the Core2Duo/Quad's. I own 7 C2D/Q CPUs and the E6420 gives the best price/performance although the Q6600 is worth considering if you have a few extra $'s

Good for the price
Pros: Runs everything great, including CS:S, WoW, etc.
Cons: None really...
Other Thoughts: I have an 8800 GTS and 4 gigs of ram, but this cpu isn't as fast as I expected it would be. I can capture stepmania videos with fraps at 75 fps and low settings, but only after I tweaked Vista's services.

Very Nice
Pros: lots of power, runs cool(31C idle 40C under heavy load). I've heard this one is very overclockable but why would you? You don't need any more power then it has stock!
Cons: absolutely none
Other Thoughts: Good for gaming in my opinion. I run full specs on all games and it keeps up well. Even does well with on board vga.

Very Satisfied
Pros: First foray into the world of Core 2 Duos after a year of X2. I'm very happy with this processor. Paired up with XMS2 Corsair 2GB and Asus P5n32-E SLI Plus. Nice OC capability as well.
Cons: None that has anything directly to do with the Processor itself.
Other Thoughts: The Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus is a fickle motherboard. I guess I lucked out. OC'd the processor to 3.4 Ghz stable in Orthos 14+hours. In my opinion, going from 2.13 to 3.4 is pretty darn good. Extra memory in the xx50 series doesn't hurt either.
