Pros: This core is fast and it works in a Dell Dimension 4600. I was pleasantly surprise to see the Bios recognize the hyper threading. The original heat sink seems to be working fine for normal usage. I do not use this for gaming.
Cons: None so far.

Poor packing
Pros: A decent upgrade for a client from a older Celeron processor
Cons: Poor packing even for a OEM, I opened the shipping box and found the empty plastic case and the processor roaming around in the shipping box free. By the time I got it the box several of the pins were bent.
Other Thoughts: After straightening the pins everything works fine, but all this could have been avoided if the plastic case for the processor was taped shut.

Intel Pentium 4 3.0 Prescott 3.0GHz Socket 478 89W Single-Core Processor Model NE80546PG0801M - OEM50456922
Pros: Came bundled with a biostar mother board at a great price. An inexpensive way to upgrade my grandson's computer. Works great, no problems
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Shipping was fast as always.

WOW
Pros: FAST shipping, and better than fast, FREE shipping (free at the time i bought it that is) it's a cheap upgrade from my 2.0/512/400 Pentium 4 that i had in before i bought this chip. performance was a little sluggish at first untill the motherboard got use to the chip. now it FLIES. also while idling my chip is at 20-22 C. my 2.0 idled at 35-40 C
Cons: only con i can think of is it didnt come with any thermal paste.
Other Thoughts: why on earth would they use a 8x8x6 box to ship i tiny 1x1 inch chip?

Rock Solid Performer
Pros: Built system almost 4 years ago using this chip and it was the best decision I ever made. Have no idea why some reviewers say it runs hot. Room temp is 76 deg-F and chip temp is 80 deg-F. Used stock fan for build and never o'clocked, no need to-no problems.
Cons: Too pricey for technology this dated. But still worth every penney.
Other Thoughts: Processor lived through an Asus mobo meltdown and kept on keepin on. Running a Biostar P4M80-M4 mobo now and my next build will be another Biostar. Replaced fried Asus mobo and Biostar fired right up and has been running steady and solid ever since.

my apologies to newegg and reviewers
Pros: -
Cons: -
Other Thoughts: It seems that perhaps the first CPU they sent to me was working but I wouldn't know. After talking with tech support from Dell my motherboard only supports up to 533mhz FSB and this chip requires 800. If any one purchases a CPU make sure your motherboard supports the FSB and voltage (if applicable). My apologies to Newegg for the trouble.

doa 2x
Pros: Easy to install.
Cons: Doa on first shipment, and after RMA. No refund (so I may have to eat this). I wish Newegg would offer a return on this because I feel ripped off on buying an old and expensive CPU that is dead on receipt.
Other Thoughts: Shipping and RMA are easy and fast.
