Suits my needs just fine
Pros: Price. Runs fairly cool (granted w/Zalman aftermarket cooler, but still worth noting). Is able to run a host of mid-tier games at their best.
Cons: It's not Core 2 Duo. Its only 2.4Ghz.
Other Thoughts: I bought this proc for a mid level build so I knew what I was getting into, that said, I'm actually pleasantly surprised by its performance.

Reliable and inexpensive
Pros: This processor was very cheap, and hasn't failed me yet in over 2 months of usage. Very fast for the cost, but I don't see why you'd need anything more powerful than this; I can play COD4 while downloading music and scanning my PC. The stock cooling unit keeps the system pretty cool, idles at a low temp.
Cons: The stock cooling unit is somewhat loud, but that's all I can think of.
Other Thoughts: I haven't tinkered with OCing, but in the future I may test how it runs when overclocked.

Vista Index Score 5.3
Pros: Works extremely well. This cpu was purchased for my daughter's new build which also happended to be my first. Stock fan works great and was a breeze to install. Runs very cool; CPU temps at 40C idle : )
Cons: There are none really, not at this price point.
Other Thoughts: I wish I could've bought the E5200 but my mistake was not checking the mb mfr's website for compatibility prior to purchase. Lesson 1 learned.
Case: In Win Allure (very nice case for girls) CPU: E2220 HD: Samsung 750GB 7200RPM MB: Foxconn G9657MA-8EKRS2H Video: EVGA 9500 GT 1GB DDR2 Memory: cheap 800Mhz memory from older pc PS: cheap 350watt ps from the same older pc

Pros: Great performance for under $100.
Cons: The included heatsink is garbage, make sure you pick up a third party one that actually uses screws/bracket instead of plastic push through clips to hold on to the mobo.

Great proc for the price
Pros: Cheap. Fast. Solid. Easy to overclock.
Cons: Has the push-down type of intel cooler. Minor pain to put in place, but honestly not a problem at all.
Other Thoughts: Might suggest using a good silver thermal paste (see the directions with the paste with regard to removing the stock thermal pad).

Cheap, Fast, Good for Cheap Builds
Pros: The Pentium Dual-Core E2220 is a wonderful processor. In the time i have had it, it's ran perfectly. I upgraded from a Celeron D 347 single-core 3.06Ghz, and it has nearly tripled my boot speed. made programs open twice as fast, and for gaming, i cannot really tell you, because my NVIDIA 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 is bottlenecking my gaming, which i hope to replace with a recert 8800GTS 320MB soon. I was originally going to get the Pentium E5200 2.5GHz which would have ran slightly better than the E2220 but my motherboard was not compatible with the processor. Dual core's Own.
Cons: Nothing so far.
Other Thoughts: Not really a con but when switching out the processor i noticed that the heatsink that came with the E2220 is about half the size of the one that came with the Celeron D. Which is not a problem at all, seeing as when gaming with my E2220 is no hotter than 43 degrees celsius, which is amazing. But it is winter time and im in Maine so the cold temperature of the house helped. I was only playing World of Warcraft, but it was for a few hours.

Worth it
Pros: Great little upgrade for my son. Price worked well for not wanting to drop a bundle in an older computer that I will replacing totally in 2 years. Has enough power to run his favorite games (WAR, COD4, EQ, SWG and others)
Cons: Nothing I can think of since I knew this was not the highest powered CPU to begin with

One sweet processor
Pros: First off this is one great processor for the money, for a budget build you can't beat it. I wanted a cheap build to upgrade my computer and this did the trick.
Cons: not really a con and not the cpu's fault when I first installed windows xp and ran cpu-z it reported it as a dual 1.2ghz which puzzled me at first, but then google led me to learn of the intel speedstep technolgy and on this one you have to go into the bios to change it. So learn about the speedstep technology before writing bad reviews it's easily disabled to run at full speed, it's basically underclocking the cpu to lower the watts used and it will run cooler due to less heat being produced.
Other Thoughts: My thinkpad t42 also has speedstep technology although a bit different and you can change the setting on the fly in the control panel\power options which would be a lot nicer if this one was that easy without going into the bios to change it. Eventually I will upgrade to either c2d or even a c2q and get a cheap board for this one.

Geat Performance/Price
Pros: Great Price, Great performance! No brainer
Cons: Didn't upgrade sooner

Works Great
Pros: It's a Intell Dual Core and it comes with a heatsink and fan. Works great for gaming too.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Install the processor and the heat sink before you install the motherboard into the case so you can support the back of the board. You don't need to put anything on the back of the heatsink. It has heat conducting grease on it.

Pros: Decent price and performance for the CPU.
Cons: For those of you who haven't installed a CPU fan in the last three or four years, you will not understand the instructions, which are 100% visual with no captions or other explanations. You will probably break the connectors, as I did. Without connectors to the mobo, the fan's worthless. I bought one locally for $20 and wrote off the expense, begrudgingly.
Other Thoughts: Word to the wise: Don't twist the connectors at all. Make sure they go straight in, audibly click, and visually will hold. And don't put them through any vibration or they may slip out.

Great little performer
Pros: Great chip. Overclocked to 2.8 without any voltage increase needed. Heat sink/fan is far superior and quieter than any AMD product I've had in the past. Idles at a cool 28c most of the time in an air conditioned room with no overclocking. Overclocked to 2.8 idles at 34c with full load at 55c.
Cons: There are cons?
Other Thoughts: My first ever Intel build and I'm very impressed. Greatly outperforms my son's AMD 5000 Black even at stock 2.4 speed. (The AMD stock is 2.6) Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L MB.

Simply Amazing
Pros: It is the coolest Intel processor I've ever owned , even though it has overclocked way beyond my expectations. It is running at 3.8 ghz on a 10 dollar Masscool screw down air cooler. 5.8 Vista rating at 3.8 ghz
Cons: Only Orthos and Windows Vista can tell its clock speed. RealTemp and CPUZ want to clock it as an E2180 , but it shows up as an E2220. Oh well...
Other Thoughts: 27-28 degrees Idle 57 max at the most intense part of Orthos.

Good CPU!
Pros: I installed this CPU on a computable Intel Chipset Mobo, and it runs real smooth and cool, I'm very happy with the processor performance. Memory is running in dual channel mode!
Cons: Noise fan

Very Good
Pros: Very Fast, very cheap. Core 2 with a half-cache for half the price(used to be anyway...).
Cons: You might want to look into one of the cheap core 2s, then overclock just a little and you'll get way better performance.
Other Thoughts: This isn't the best for overclocking, needs some pretty high voltage to get it to 3.0, but still runs pretty cool at that(<48C without the AC on). I'm leaving it at 2.4 because that's way more than fast enough for me(Q3, Q4 at most...)

Pros: Runs cool using stock heatsink, Beats Athlon X2 5000+. Price is right.

Still a great processor
Pros: I built a simple barebone with this processor and was quite pleased. Stays cool, was able to open several resource hungry applications, such as AutoCad and Maya3D, and still the computer was fast at doing other stuff.
Cons: None.

Another picture would've helped...
Pros: Great speed and very adaptive to needs and stable too! Awesome price!
Cons: If I had a picture of everything that came in a box, including the fan with heatsink, I wouldn't have ordered it and got my hopes up and dreams shattered by a fan that wont fit the pin set-up on the MoBo. I pulled the old Fan and sink and looked at how the new one attached, and saw that the pegs for the current wouldn't line up with the new. Any thoughts anyone?
Other Thoughts: I would've L O V E D to keep this CPU but I can't.

Overclocked to 3.6Ghz
Pros: Overclocked to 3.6Ghz and stable for hours of gaming on an inexpensive Rosewill RCX-Z775-SL 92mm HSF.
Cons: None....I LOVE this CPU!
Other Thoughts: I can lower my CPU to 2.8Ghz and the frame rate in my games does not lower...my video card is the bottleneck, and I thought I had a powerful video card. It's a GeForce 8800 GTS 320mb (not G92 core) overclocked to 680/1950.

Great performance for the price
Pros: Great performance in games, runs nice and cool (about 40 degrees C) even under a full load. I've heard they overclock well, but I'd rather not risk my warranty.
Cons: Not too great of a CPU if you're into overclocking.
Other Thoughts: If you are into overclocking, get the e2180 and overclock that to 2.4 Ghz or higher. You'll get the exact same performance as the e2220 for a lower price.

Great!
Pros: Very affordable dual-core processor. While not top of the line, it is a nice upgrade from a single core CPU. Pair it with the right motherboard and overclock for extra speed. I will start with this then of course I can upgrade later.
Cons: Since a con is apparently required, I will list the fact that I haven't been lucky enough to get my order in less than the three days it says - it's always taken the full three days.
Other Thoughts: Wouldn't it be nice to have more money to spend at Newegg?

Fast, cheap, questionable heat sink/fan
Pros: Dual core goodness. I haven't tried to overclock, but I'm very satisfied with the performance. It's at least 2x faster than my previous CPU (Pentium 4 2.8 GHz Prescott, using a different mobo.)
Cons: I broke one of the plastic thingies connecting the heat sink/fan to the motherboard while trying to install. I'm not sure if this was my fault, or shoddy construction. I bought a better heat sink/fan at my local computer store for twelve bucks, so no big deal.
Other Thoughts: Newegg rocks.

Great CPU, Horrible Heat Sink!
Pros: Inexpensive Dual Core, MSI P6NGM-L LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce7050 / nForce610i Micro ATX detected it, no bios update needed.
Cons: Not a Core 2 Duo, Heatsink does not work correctly.
Other Thoughts: While installing the heatsink, you are told to twist the locking tabs (4) after pushing them into the MB holes. Well every time I did, 2 tabs would release. After almost frying the CPU, 70c, I shut down and reapplied silver5 and just pushed the tabs in without locking the 2 that release and they held fine. Terrible costruction of the heatsink gives this a 4 egg. The CPU is great.

blah
Pros: cant think of any
Cons: Only made it to 2.7 on stock voltage, friend wanted it at 3.0 and it took 1.385 volts to be stable. Running fairly hot with stock cooler (67-68c.) Couldnt really get higher with the stock cooler due to the extreme voltage it would need to run. Might have got a dud for overclocking but IMO [out of the 2xxx series] youre much better off getting the cheapest wolfdale you can find as they will probably have the same overclock limit.
Other Thoughts: cooler has like a nickel plated bottom, im assuming there is a copper base underneath it?

Nice stock Price/Performance ratio
Pros: Sweet spot in the price/performance curve. Rock solid at stock speeds and voltages.
Cons: Allegedly has OC potential up to 3.2 ghz. I wasn't able to push any of mine beyond 2.8 without throwing errors on Prime95 after an hour. I eventually just went back to stock 2.4 Ghz as the performance increase to instability ratio just wasn't worth the effort.
Other Thoughts: Built this system based upon the 500 dollar Gaming PC project over at Tomshardware. Mine actually cost about 600 dollars due to upgraded CPU, PS, HDD, and case.
If you are trying to get the best price:OC potential in this chip line, my research says you should be looking at the E2180 instead. People are reporting that they have been able to overclock all chips in this line (E2180 through 2220) at roughly the same 3.2 ghz ceiling.
My build: Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L, Intel E2220 Allendale 2.4Ghz, XFX PVT88SFDFU GF8800GS 384MB Video Card, Wintec AMPO 2x1 GB DDR2 PC2-6400 DRAM, 2x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA 3.0Gb HDD, Cooler Master Hyper TX2 CPU cooler, Corsair CMPSU-450VX 450 Watt PS, Phillips SPD2513BM/17 20x Sata DVD+/-R, Rosewill R5601-BK Toolless case

impressed
Pros: put this in a micro atx $600 budget build and WOW! that thing flies for so little money. with an EVGA 9600 GT in there it runs world in conflict at maxed out settings 4x AA 16x AF at 1680 x 1050. same with supreme commander:forged alliance. cant verify myself, but ive heard its quite the overclocker.
Cons: small l2 cache, not sure how this affects the performance
Other Thoughts: cheap and fast.

Nice chip!
Pros: Fast, cheap, and overclocks well! Easily clocks to at least 2.7GHz with no increase in VCore. The included Intel heatsink is more than sufficient if you don't plan on overclocking much or raising VCore.
Cons: Having just 1 meg of cache does hurt it in some benchmarks. The stock heatsink is fine if you don't overclock far. At higher speeds or with a raised VCore, the Intel heatsink simply can't pull the heat away fast enough. You could see a 20C drop just by switching to an after-market heatsink from a company like Arctic Cooling.
Other Thoughts: I have this running at 3.2 GHz (8x 400MHz) on my GA-EP35-DS3L at 1.360v. That's a full 1600 MHz FSB that keeps my DDR2 800 RAM running at 1:1. At that speed, the CPU score is 5.8 under Windows Vista x64. I can't get it stable much past 3.4GHz or 400 MHz BUS without increasing the VCore a whole lot. I'm using this with an AC Freezer Pro 7. If your board doesn't let you adjust the BUS speed much or raise your VCore, I found out that it's pretty easy to mod the chip with some conductive paint (I got some from an auto parts store).

Cheap Goodness
Pros: Intel. Inexpensive, Cool, FAST for under a benjamin. SMOKES the pentium d 805 it replaced. this little gem has been crunching since i powered it up, 100%load 24/7 and can't hear the fan over ambient noise. quick shipping, arrived in great condition
Cons: just that crunch sound when latching the cpu socket.
Other Thoughts: this cpu breathed new life into a two year old system. this chip, intel dp965 board, 1.5gb ram. this thing handles my 30 mb excel spreadsheets with ease. i could watch the cells update when i recalculated with the old cpu. this one the sheet is just a blur. excellent cpu. excellent price, excellent service

Cold Cpu
Pros: The processor was expected to be a budget cpu but there is much room for overclocking with stock air cooler I hit 3.4Ghz
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: At first I thought the stock air cooler wasn't going to do its job because it is about a quarter of the hight of my LGA 775 P4 3.0Ghz processor fan but after i put it in it runs very cool!

Quick, Quick
Pros: It's quick. Very Quick.
Cons: It was somewhat expensive for the 1MB of cache. I probably should have gone for the E2160/--80, but I'm extraordinarily happy with this processor.
Other Thoughts: I have it paired with two gigs of RAM, an 8800 GS, Windows XP Home and 585W power supply, and I run great.

Great processor
Pros: Fast, good price, handles whatever I can throw at it.
Cons: The stock cooler was trash, gonna replace it with a Zalman cooler.
Other Thoughts: Buy it.

Bang for the Buck
Pros: It was cheap for the performance. It's literally twice as fast as my old P4 3.2Ghz. Video encoding, audio encoding. It even makes some games playable on my low-end video card. I have mine overclocked to 2.8Ghz with no problems
Cons: it's just dual core, someday the quad cores will be cheaper
Other Thoughts: All in all for around $100 you can't get much better. if you need to change the fsb from 800 to 1066 you might want a cpu with a lower multiplier. they are only cheaper than this one!

Grate Possessor
Pros: This is a very in expensive possessor and a very nice one at that. Installed it very easily. came with plenty of paste on the heat sink. Fan is very quiet which is a bonus. runs very fast. with windows xp pro sp2. and dose not require tons of power
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Would buy another in a heart beat.

Pros: Very fast and low power consumption. We are building several systems for industrial and security applications with these processors because they are a good value. Previous reviewer got it wrong, this CPU at stock clock is faster than a AMD X2 4200. The benchmarks show this to be as fast as AMD X2 5600 in some tests and faster than a AMD X2 5200 in most and lower power onsumption and cooler!!
Cons: For most none - For some apps the 1MB L2 cache may be limiting - if thats the case move up to a E4600 or E8200 .
Other Thoughts: Check your motherboard specs for compatibility. Most recent boards work fine. May need a bios update. Newegg had the best price and fast delivery.

Smooth
Pros: As cheap as AMD midlie processors. About the same speed as the AMD X2 4200 but can overclock much higher.
Cons: New item...price is still kind of high.
Other Thoughts: First time building an Intel system in over 2yrs so have to test it out to give it a better rating.
