Works fine
Pros: Plugged in and it worked. Ran stable and cool, 30-35 degrees C. Very good price/benefit ratio.
Cons: It's not 64-bit, doh....
Other Thoughts: This was a replacement CPU for a Sony VAIO desktop (a.k.a. overpriced junk) where the old CPU burned out. Drop in replacement with new motherboard BIOSTAR P4M80-M4.

Good CPU for a Pentium 4
Pros: Solid Processor for the Price. I'm running Windows Xp on this Cpu with a home build I did. FIts my needs of the "house" computer for many users just looking to do basic tasks.
Cons: Could be faster. I'm capable of Overclocking to 3.1 and thats it...
Other Thoughts: Being my first computer I builit, it's hard to go back to when I'm running an AMD 64, 5600x with dual core and muli-threading. I suppose for general tasks and a home build for your child, this would be more than sufficient

RE: Heads up
Pros: **
Cons: **
Other Thoughts: *** Just so people know, this won't work in a Dell Dimension 4550. The CPU will fit in the socket, but the 4550 only takes 400 or 533 FSB processors. Anything above and the mobo won't start up. **
First of all, this processor works at 533 FSB.
Here is the 4500S specification from Dell:
Intel® Pentium® 4 microprocessor that runs at 1.80, 1.90, 2.0, or 2.20 GHz internally and 400 MHz externally; or 2.26, 2.4, 2.53, 2.66, 2.8, or 3.06 GHz internally and 533 MHz externally
So I don't see why this would not work. Can anyone verify this? Someone is posting bogus stuff here.

Heh
Pros: Cheap CPU for general computing.
Cons: Outdated and pretty much a bottleneck for many videocards.
Other Thoughts: It's quite funny that users like "C" call themselves as High Technical Understanders and say such ridiculous comments like a 2.4Ghz CPU that is not a 2.4GHz CPU, lol, that's a true P4 2.4GHz, there's also a 2.4A based on Prescott with no HT, if you put such CPU on a non compatible Mobo, it will not work or it will run severely underclocked.

To user C:
Pros: A true 2.4GHz Pentium 4; the B just means that it has a 533MHz FSB. The A's is 400MHz and the C's is 800MHz.
Cons: Doesn't work in all motherboards because some older boards don't support processors with an FSB higher than 400MHz.
Other Thoughts: C, that is why it didn't work in your computer. It has nothing to do with being a "true" 2.4GHz Pentium 4. What would that even mean, that it's a knock off?

NOT a true P4 2.4 GHz
Pros: Probably a good chip.
Cons: Wouldn't work with Dell motherboard.
Other Thoughts: NOT a true P4 2.4 GHz. It's a P4 2.4B GHz. Pay attention to the B, it makes it incompatible w/ some motherboards.

Life Saver
Pros: Just what I needed to breath new life into my dog-house computer--where I install all my out-dated drives, etc. It has a SOYO MB that won't take a Prescott, only a Northwood. As always, Newegg service was right on and zippy.
Cons: None. Processor arrived in perfect condition and worked beautifully.

Great Upgrade
Pros: Works great, my computer works better than ever and boots up very quickly.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I bought this as an upgrade for a Dell Optiplex with a 1.6GHz processor. I'd bent the pins trying to clean it because the old processor was stuck to the heatsink with a thermal pad. I scraped off the pad and cleaned it with alcohol then replaced it with thermal grease. Like I said above, it works great.

Comments: This is a great upgrade for the Dell Dimension 2400 w/2.4 gig Celeron in which my wife owns. Did it myself in about an hour. Computer runs a LOT better .The stock fan and heatsink do just fine.My wife is very happy as well. NewEgg's customer service is great ! Ordered the part on a Monday with fed-ex saver and got it Wednesday. Thanks NewEgg !

The PC Guy
Comments: I've had this processor for over a year now and finalyl swicthed to a motherboard that has some serious overclocking ability (Abit IC7-MAX3). This motherboard is amazing, I'm going Abit all the way from now in. Anyways, I currently have this 2.4 running at an even 3.0GHZ and not a flinch. At first it was slighty unstable but I upped the voltage to 1.575 and no problems whatsoever. Runs idle/stress 40/50 degrees celsius. Still using the stock HSF! This will last me a little while longer with the OC until I buy a P4 3.2E. As always, NewEgg rocks!

Great Product!
Comments: It's installed in a Jetway miniQ 460 (small form factor, cube). Even in this small enclosure the temperature is only 120 farenheit ---and it is overclocked at 2.9ghz!!!!

Comments: Don't know what stepping/week/country mine's from (and I'm not gonna undo the heatsink to find out), but OC to 3.2 no problem (178x18, =712MHz FSB; 44C under full load) using some cheap Kingston Value RAM PC3200/DDR400 at 1:1 (356, so underclocked, but it was only $xx for 512MB) on a free Soyo P4i845PE v1.0 board. Less stable at 180-185 (3240-3330), but maybe some vCore adjustments or better thermal compound would help. 3.6GHz (200*18) would be simply amazing.

Exactly as expected!
Comments: Once again Newegg delivered quickly, and got the order right. The Intel Northwoods 2.4 chip arrived well packed, and went in to my Asus P4B mobo and booted with no trouble. Great chip for a second PC.

Got a B0
Comments: Got a SL6D7 (B0) OEM from Newegg :(, but also got a SL6EF (C1) Retail from Newegg :). Hey Ralph, what is the S-Spec, country, and batch no. on your chip? Let everybody know if its a Malay SL6RZ with a batch no. that begins with L. That's the most sought after 2.4 P4 right now. Wish I had your luck with the OEM.

Comments: Got the C1 stepping of this P4, so i'm happy. Nice and cheap. I chose this over the Retail cuz i was going to buy a fan anyway, so i didn't need the reference fan.

Comments: Ordered it on a Friday night and had it within 7 days...shipped to England! Outstanding service. Now on to the processor. Solid performer and runs @ 30C. Just as cool as my "old" P4 1.5. MadOnion 2001SE scored 10850 on ECS P4S5A mobo. UT runs so fast you can get diorientated.. the GeForce 4 Ti4400 helps also. Would recommend this to anyone.
