Rating + 5 It's good.

Pros: Built a server out two of these, overclocked with a piece of electrician tape on the 6th pin. Works great! Have had zero problems with the whole order, all RAM and drives were working upon receipt. Load rarely goes past 30% now!

Cons: Thermal paste already on the heatsinks. Not a big problem.

Other Thoughts: Much better heatsinks than the clip on LGA 775

Rating + 5 Good Budget Server

Pros: Great chip for building a budget server, this will be the second budget server I have built with using these Processors.

Cons: As always, Intels cooling solutions lack.

Other Thoughts: Those who are Pin Modding their 1U processors are somewhat of idiots especially if they are using the stock cooling that comes with this processor.

The thought of overclocking a processor in a 1U form factor boggles my mind.

Rating + 5 Amazing server cpu for price

Pros: This thing is a beast when overclocked with BSEL pin insulator mod to 2.33GHz and 1333MHz FSB. Simply amazing for the price. Best server processor right now.

Cons: no socket 771 with 4 cpu sockets :( lol.

Other Thoughts: Current server setup: 2x Xeon 5320's, 8GB DDR2-667, 1TB hard drive space with raid 5 configuration.

Rating + 5 Nice proc for workstation geeks

Pros: Can be overclocked by putting an insulator (a very small piece of electrical tape) on pin G30. Turns it into a 2.33 GHz / 1333 MHz FSB.

Cons: Price of Socket 771 motherboards and FB ECC RAM is high. Stock heatsink fan is loud!!!

Other Thoughts: Overclocking via a pin mod is not for everyone.

Rating + 5 Fast processor

Pros: Compiled linux 2.6.20 kernel (defconfig) in 90 seconds when using "make -j5". In comparison my 3GHz P4 Hyper threaded system takes > 7 minutes to do the same thing. Power consumption of whole system is 120 watts idle and 165 under load which is really good considering what this system can do.

Cons: FB Dimms for memory are more expensive and have higher latency, but are required to get past 4 dimm slot limit. Each dimm adds 3-5 watts of power consumption.

Other Thoughts: Less power consumption than 2 separate dual core processors. Great having a system that can expand to 8 proccessor cores and 32GB of memory in an ATX form factor! Planning on added a second processor when prices drop some. Not a gaming processor or for use in single threaded apps.
