Rating + 2 Horrible Speed

Pros: Cheap. Thats about it.

Cons: Class 6 card? This thing is a joke. I have a Sandisk Extreme II 2GB that is three times faster, if not more. Sent this back for a refund. Never buying Kingston again. If you have a 8+ mp camera stay away and buy something better.

Other Thoughts: Look at the Sandisk Extreme 2's or 3's, thats what I got as a replacement, instant pictures, super fast write/shutter times.

Pros: large capacity fairly decent write speed it is a class 6 card

Cons: DEAD after 3 months unrecoverable by vista OR GPARTED LIVE. shows in system but cannot recover partition to fat16

Other Thoughts: it showed promise i let it sit for about 6 weeks with a /sda5 partition on it tried to recover to fat16 with gparted live no success xp nope vista nope.. folks dont use these things for a hdd device sure its nice to have spurr of the moment options but these are apparently not made for that sorta use. instead buy a huge hdd/sdd maybe 2X the size you need and split it in half..

Rating + 5 Great for Video

Pros: I have used this memory for over a year for pictures but most importantly for video. This Class 6 memory is great for video with my Canon A570 IS. I have taken hours of high quality video with these cards and needed 2 more for a trip. Newegg has the best price on the internet. Also these flash cards are garanteed by Kingston not to fail or they will replace them.

Rating + 5 Good deal

Pros: Class 6 speed, 4 GB of space, cheap, and free shipping!! I can take 1,900+ pictures on the highest settings (8.0 mega pixel) on my Canon Powershot A590IS. I originally bought it to use for ReadyBoost with Vista, and formatted it to NTFS, but since I already have 4 GB of ram, the difference was negligible. So I formatted it back to FAT32 and now have tons of space on my camera!

Cons: I have no complaints whatsoever.

Other Thoughts: As always, Newegg had the best prices, and quickest shipment! It's the first place (and usually the only place) I look when purchasing electronic gadgets online!

Rating + 5 Great with my Canon!

Pros: Good capacity, holds lots of photos and video clips. Brand name manufacturer. Lifetime warranty. Seems fast enough for all normal uses.
Have used Kingston ValuRAM and HyperX computer memory for years so we trust Kingston Technology products.

Cons: There is still slight lag between shots on my Canon A590 IS camera when not using flash (8.0MP / Highest quality setting).

Other Thoughts: With a standard Class 2 card there is a momentary wait after you snap a photo before you can snap the next one. The camera is "writing" the image onto the memory card. This new Class 6 card does not totally eliminate that delay, so you cannot snap next photo instantly, but it's only a very brief delay so it's plenty fast for normal use, no problem. And video recording is smooth, no stutter or lag.
Used a program called HD Tach to test the "read speed" of the card. The Class 6 rating promises 6mb/second minimum. It tested well, giving 20.2MB/second read speed - way above it's rating!
Saw a review where user said poor performance when he reformatted card to NTFS file system. Don't do that! Card is designed to use FAT (or FAT32) file system so leave it alone and it works fine. And, NEVER allow your computer to erase photos from the card or to reformat the card. Only allow the camera to do that.

Rating + 4 Good Value

Pros: Cheap, decent size.

Cons: Not fast enough for my Canon XS: I can only take 2 RAW pictures in a row before it stalls to process the files for a couple of seconds. Shooting JPGs at the highest resolution however wasn't a problem at all and I couldn't reach any kind of limit.

Rating + 5 Great SDHC

Pros: Class-6, 4GB for under $10, fast card, 4GB is more than enough room for HQ photos from a point-and-shoot

Cons: Nada

Other Thoughts: I dropped this into my Nikon S550 last night. I can literally take twice as many pictures per minute with this card than from my Kingston Class 4 1GB. Has brought new light to a year old Nikon. Newegg has the best shipping in the industry PERIOD

Pros: It is a good size for a good price. No noticeable speed issues, it works.

Cons: No cons... I don't own many memory cards, so I can't compare it in terms of speed and... however else I would compare it....

Other Thoughts: It's a memory card... Just get the one that fits your needs in terms of size... I can't see much going wrong... Kingston's a reputable company that's been good to me.

Pros: Bought this card to work with ReadyBoost, and it does its job well. Not a bad price either. I saw about a 2-4 FPS increase in World of Wacraft.

Cons: Doesn't match my black laptop I suppose...

Other Thoughts: It took Vista about 10 scans to figure out that the card was good enough for ReadyBoost. You just gotta keep trying.

Pros: Purchased this item about a month ago and I can say this flash card is pretty fast (that's why it's class 6) when it comes to file transfer and reliable. I've been using it in my photo camera and I haven't noticed any technical failures so far.

Cons: The main demerit of this product is that if you have xp sp2, computer won't see it (because of the technology used in this flash card) and you'll have to install a hotfix to solve this problem.

Other Thoughts: Great price for such item!

Rating + 5 Excellent product!

Pros: SD6/4GB SDHC. High capacity/high speed. Using it in DSLR Camera and it transfers a 10-20MB picture as such a fast rate, I only see the access light on my camera flicker, and I can take rapid-fire fully automatic, continuous pictures by holding the shutter button down with ease. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, especially for Cameras.

Cons: None, but see other thoughts for a potential con, depending on personal preferences.

Other Thoughts: 4GB takes a while to transfer to your computer ONCE you have filled it with all of your most prescious moments. I have transfered MUCH quicker with a USB adapter (which are not cost prohibitive). If I need any more SDHC cards, this one certainly has my vote!

Rating + 1 Stay Away

Pros: Received a prompt RMA number from Kingston.

Cons: Early in 2008 I purchased five Kingston sdhc cards. An exhaustive memory test passed. They worked fine in my Pentax K20 digital camera. Later in 2008 I purchased another five Kingston sdhc cards. But, I was only able to shoot about 5 to 10 photos before the camera reported memory read and write errors on all 5 cards. After returning them, Kingston swapped the bad cards for 5 more bad cards from THE SAME LOT.

I would rather throw these bad memory cards into the trash and loose money rather than let Kingston sell them to another unsuspecting consumer. Something happened at Kingston between Spring of 2008 and Fall of 2008. My guess is they switched their manufacturing process for the worse. Their customer service used to respond to emails but no longer. A lifetime warranty does no good if they only swap your bad memory with more bad memory.

Other Thoughts: Don't put your trust in brand names.

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: Very slow. I have class 4 cards that are faster. Took 5 seconds to write one raw file (about 10mb) on my D80, 15 seconds to write a burst of 3 raws, which makes this card more like class 2 rather than class 6.

Other Thoughts: It's very likely that I received a dud, so I'm sure the next one I order won't be as slow.

Rating + 5 Thank you, US Robotics and Newegg

Pros: I have ordered two or three of these cards from Newegg in the past. I have a bunch of Fuji Slr-like cameras and it wasn't until recently that I found they take really great video and sound--and the Kingstons are inexpensive and do the job well. I didn't really need the last card I ordered. But I got a rebate from US Robotics--not on a check, but on a Visa debit card...
The Kingston memory was just the amount on the Visa card with a penny to spare. I do my Newegg shopping with my own Visa debit card--and I wanted to see if Newegg would take this one-time rebate one... Yup they did..went through like any other Visa transaction..
Got something nice that I could use, used the rebate..and didn' to leave home to do it...nice..

Cons: Looking for something Newegg sells for a penny..

Pros: great chip

Cons: hmmmmmmm i'm wondering if the class 6 is true or if its my cam. d40. cuz in jpeg mode i'm suppose to have unlimted burst. however i "only" get 56 burst. for my kind of work, i'll never need that many continueous shoots but hey some ppl my need it you know.

Other Thoughts: i've a kingston 2gb class 4 and it will give me 16 continueous burst but i have a transcend 4gb class 6 and it only gave me 11.

so.............. brand name does matter!!!! transcend class 6 is SLOWER than kingston class 4.

transcend came FREE with my d40 cuz i would never buy transcend card!!!

both of my kingston card never gave me any errors, while transcend would have errors every now and then. I dont us transcend w my d40 anymore.

Pros: I ordered three and they work very well with my camera and Palm Treo 680. Kingston is a name I have learned I can trust

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Seeing the weight of the package was 10.4 ounces and the packaging the same whether one or three items are shipped and that UPS charges the same rate for all packages up to 16 ounces, I don't understand almost tripling of the shipping charge for quantity of three.

Rating + 5 Fast!

Pros: Transferring 336 mp3 files from a Dell 8400, the files were written at 11,738,000 bytes/second. Copying back to the Dell, the files were read at 17,737,000 bytes/second. That's 5:43 to write, 3:47 to read, for 3.74 GB (2.65 MB free on the SD card). Definitely a Class 6 card.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: I used a SanDisk MicroMate card reader for the testing.

Rating + 3 Great product but...

Pros: Great product. No complains about it.

Cons: Well, not really the product. I ordered it on 09/16 when newegg offered free 3-7 shipping. Just got it today, 09/25.

Took 9 days.

Other Thoughts: Ordered this card for my new GPS. It arrived just in time before I took off for my vacation.

If it arrived on the 7th day, I would still be very pleased. 9- day shipping is kind of long, which is why I give 3 eggs.

In my opinion, DHL SMART mail is unreliable, which is what newegg uses for free shipping. Plan well ahead if you choose free shipping.

Rating + 5 Awsome card

Pros: This memory is great, originally I bought this memory for my Garmin GPS nuvi 660 to storage my mp3’s and now I also use it for my camera. This is a great memory card, it has tons of space and it’s fast. I'm very pleased with the speed of it. Class 6 makes big difference.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: When I put this card in my GPS and use the USB interface I notice that the transfer was really slow. Transferring 1 GB would take about hours, so, I give up and I try to transfer my MP3 using a Card Reader, that was a big difference now I can transfer really fast with no problem, so I think the problem is the GPS interface which it cannot use the full transfer speed of the card. I blame Garmin guys for it, not the card.

Rating + 2 Batting .333 on usability

Pros: Cost

Cons: Read/Write Issues which severely limits usability which negates any cost advantages for this item.

Other Thoughts: Tested in 3 SDHC compatible devices:
an all-in-one printer w/ a media card reader, which will not read the card at all
a GPS device that will read the card 50% of the time (which is effectively makes it useless) and
a digital camera that so far seems to have no problem with the card, but that is with limited usage to date.
Overall, I would not recommend this specific product.

Cons: Didn't work in the following devices: Laptop card reader, Desktop card reader, digital camera and Pocket PC. It's also kinda fat in size. It became stuck in my laptop and I had to use a tweezer to pull it out...weird!

Rating + 3 Bye Bye

Pros: A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And, maybe, they’d be happy for a while.

Cons: But february made me shiver
With every paper I’d deliver.
Bad news on the doorstep;
I couldn’t take one more step.

Other Thoughts: I can’t remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride,
But something touched me deep inside
The day the music died.

Rating + 5 Works Great!

Pros: Works well with my Canon SD1100 IS. Allows me to take thousands of photos, and I don't have to worry (too much) when it comes to taking up space with videos.

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: I originally had the Kingston 512MB card, bought several years ago. I can't really tell if the SDHC Class 6 card is any faster than my old card. I just know that it stores ALOT more so I don't have to worry about carrying a whole bunch of cards. But I guess you would still want to change cards occasionally, just in case you lose the camera, you won't lose most of your pictures too.

Rating + 1 Dead before rebate arrived!

Pros: specs on card appeared good. Others reviewed it highly.

Cons: Rebate ($6) took 5 months to arrive from AData and the card died in 4.5 months! Pretty sad. Contacting company with no response as of yet.

Rating + 2 Worked for a few days

Pros: Well known Kingston brand. Excellent Newegg customer service.

Cons: Hard to write any other pros when the card has errors after only a few days. I chose this capacity and speed of card to use with my Panasonic Lumix TZ5 camera. The card worked for a few days and then after losing my photos, I started getting error messages that the card could not be read. Formatting did not fix the problem.

Other Thoughts: I have since read other reviews of class 6 SDHC cards having issues with other brands of cameras too. I'm not convinced the bugs have been worked out as far as total speed and compatibility of class 6 SDHC. I'm going to stick with 2GB 133X SD cards for now.

Rating + 5 Couldn't ask for more!

Pros: Works perfectly in both of our Canon SD Powershots (SD850 & 1100), our XP Dell desktop, and our Vista Dell laptop. Plenty fast for continuous shots and video on highest settings on both cameras.

Cons: If your product can't read/write ***SDHC***, then don't buy it. MANY of the negative reviews on all SDHC cards are from people that don't realize this!!!

Other Thoughts: For $20, how can you go wrong???

Pros: not much to say

Cons: This memory will not read in my computer I’m running XP or in my new camera
I have already got a RMA and the 2nd one wasn't no better

Other Thoughts: I like Kingston memory I build home computers and can always
Count on it to run
But not this SD card

Rating + 2 when it works...

Pros: Nice price. Functions well in Panasonic superzoom digicam.

Cons: This item has shut down 3 of my computers with 2 different input devices. When it works its fine, but I don't need it crashing my systems. My other HD SD cards work fine with these systems. I may be missing something but class 6 is causing some problems with Vista, XP and Vista Ultimate 64 and 2 different card readers (all from the EGG).

Rating + 5 Works great on Vista and XP

Pros: Works great on VISTA and XP if you have SDHC reader.

Cons: Must have SDHC reader.

Other Thoughts: I bought another one (SanDisk Extreme III 4GB Secure Digital High-Capacity SD/SDHC Flash Card W/Reader Model SDSDRX3-4096-A21) with rebate comes down to about twenty something. Now with the flash card adapter. It's literally backward compatible. I can use it on my parent's computer or anybody else.

Pros: Very reliable memory that I'm using with my Canon SD870IS Camera.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought 2 at $32ea. Jan 4th. It is amazing how fast memory prices are dropping! The cards have no problem keeping up with video at 600x480.

Rating + 5 Works just fine

Pros: Works as well as I expected it to. 4GB. SDHC. What else to say?

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Might not be the fastest card out there, I don't have much to compare it to though. I'm just using it in a cheap point-and-shoot so speed isn't of much use to me.

Pros: Works fine after receiving replacement

Cons: First card was faulty. Worked fine under Windows for a little while, then used the same reader under Linux and the card immediately developed unrecoverable media errors. Newegg exchanged for a new card that worked fine.

Other Thoughts: Doesn't seem to be worth paying extra for the brand name in this case. Speed is about the same as the cheaper options and it obviously wasn't any more reliable.

Rating + 4 Works, but slow benchmarks

Pros: Works in my Garmin Nuvi 680. 4GB capacity is spacious.

Cons: Despite being a class 6 device rated at 6 MB/sec minimum, transfer rates are much lower as measured via SiSoft Sandra benchmarks using a SDHC USB card reader.

Other Thoughts: Good storage capacity, but don't expect high throughputs.

Pros: SDHC, works great with the Nikon D80, Macbook and Rosewill RSD-CR102 card reader. 4GB holds over 900 fine (highest) quality Jpeg photos from the 10 megapixel D80.

Cons: nothing so far

Rating + 5 Great in a Nikon D80!

Pros: Good price for high quality class 6 memory. Plenty fast. In the D80, I can take 7 raw shots with no lag. (3 FPS) After that, they go about 1-2 FPS. I had a Transcend class-6 card before this that would make the camera lurch and sputter in continuous mode.

Cons: It will be cheaper next month. And the next month.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommended.
