Doesn't work with Dell Vostro 1000
Pros: Inexpensive, no cap to lose.
Cons: Slow transfers, feels a little flimsy, can be difficult to keep connector locked well enough to insert into USB port.
Other Thoughts: I own this drive and its 4GB and 16GB counterparts. All of them fail while writing data from either of two Dell Vostro 1000 notebooks that my wife and I use - after writing a directory and a file or two, the drives suddenly un-mount and the notebooks must be restarted to see the drives again. This has happened on these Vostros with Ubuntu 9.04, Linux Mint 3 and 6 and Windows 7 RC. The Kingston drives work fine in every other type of computer we've tried, including a Mac Mini, a CTL notebook and a hand-built PC with Windows XP. Other USB drives, including ones from SanDisk and Lexar, and an external 2.5" HD in a fine Vantec NexStar external enclosure (available from NewEgg :-) ) work fine on the Vostros, as do other USB peripherals. I've never seen a consistent incompatibility like this, but be warned that these Kingston drives don't work with at least one Dell Vostro model and might not with others if Dell has used the same USB chips, etc., on other models.

Kinston DataTraveler 100 Flash Drive - DT100/8GB Retail
Pros: + Works as designed + Compact, does not hog up space around other USB devices. + Recessed loop on opposite end of retractable USB connector for use with an optional lanyard or other retaining attachment if so desired.
Cons: - No physical security switch to prevent accidental writing to device (minor).
Other Thoughts: This device met my needs and expectations. Grat value for the cost and functionality. Recommended for use with similar purposes.

Pros: phenomenal. that is all.
Cons: nothing!
Other Thoughts: not that i would recommend anyone to do this, but, i accidently washed this flash drive in a pair of pants (keep in mind: hot water, detergent, spin cycle, ect)... and guess what? runs like a champ! as if it never happened. i didnt do anything to it, except let it sit out on my desk... didnt even blowdry it, because i figured it was a lost cause. thought i should write a review on how amazing this was to me :)

Pros: Price. Retractable.
Cons: After four months of carrying it in my pocket, it is starting to split in half. I just added some electrical tape to hold it together.

Nearly Perfect
Pros: Good price, lots of storage, great performance
Cons: The retractable USB connector can be _slightly_ awkward when being inserted into a computer. This can be solved by holding your thumb on the slider during insertion.
Other Thoughts: As the IT admin of a local non-profit school, I'll soon be purchasing about 70 USB drives to put Ubuntu Linux on for the students as part of our technology curriculum. After using this drive, I'll probably be purchasing from Kingston again in the near future.

Just what i needed!
Pros: This is a great data flash drive. Hats off to Kingston! I also have the 4gb model of this flash drive. Awesome devices. The 8 gb model provides more space to work with. Just what i needed.
Cons: None, as usual
Other Thoughts: Very good product, Kingston and Very good service, Newegg. Happy New Year all!

Good but wish I knew
Pros: Great device - fast and no cap so nothing to lose.
Cons: Does NOT support Vista Readyboost - was let down by this even though I needed a flash drive I didn't see anywhere in the specs or comments stating not compatible w/ readyboost only compatible w/ Vista. The packaging it comes in does indicate no support for it. . . . .
Other Thoughts: Still a great flash drive and does what its supposed to do.

Works!
Pros: - No cap (can't lose a cap then) - Speed is aceptable. Seems fast to me, but I haven't measured. - Smooth sliding - Compact - Solid construction
Cons: - The activity light is in an unfortunate spot - right on the top of the device. It's not well lit either. I can't see if it's writing when I have it plugged in below another USB device. Should've put this on the end probably.
Other Thoughts: I've used this for big files and as a portable linux system. Seems to work just fine. I rarely experience any lag.

Cons: The only con is of the shipment. The tracking number provided was not providing any information about shipment. The product reached me after 8 days of shipping date, very slow.

very nice
Pros: This is a very nice flash drive. small and has a nice build quality, does not feel like it is make out of cheap plastic like some other flash drives. the sliding usb is very nice so you dont have to worry about loosing a cap. small led lets you know if its is reading or writing.
Cons: no major cons found
Other Thoughts: ok read right time,
7.43gb up in 13m 43s down 6m 35s

Pretty good
Pros: Worked right outta the package and does what it's supposed too. For my own case anyways, I was tired of having to reformat unexpectedly and lose all my music and pictures, so I pretty much just use this as my mini backup device. I'm prepared this time... Take that random file corruption!
Cons: It has this weird slide out design for the usb plug to come out. Push on the button and push forward. Even though it has little 'gripys' on it, it's still hard to move and kinda hurts the thumb haha. Also took almost 2 weeks to get here, Jeesh.
Other Thoughts: Minor cons, I just keep it out and don't let it back in, and was somehow patient . Get it! Get it! Get it! ... if you want/need it.

Great bang for the buck!
Pros: 8 gigs, no software needed for it. It's fast.
Cons: The only one I can think of its key ring slot isn't very big so you have to rig up some wire or string.
Other Thoughts: Buy it, its good.

SWEET!!!
Pros: Almost everything!
Cons: I could run it over with a car and there is maybe only a 50% that it would not work afterwards.
Other Thoughts: Enough with the bad reviews. Anyone should be happy with this review. Watch for falling prices! I will go for a 16 gig next:D

died in 3 months
Pros: Retractable USB plug. Very nice for those who damage things easily, and get re-assurance that the thumb drive wont be bent in half. It is small and light, and inexpensive.
Cons: I have had 4 of these thumb drives and the one that died in 3 months also had problems with the retractable slider button sticking, minor issue.
Most recent 8gb data traveler died within 3 months of very light usage.
Other Thoughts: all indications point to good product except for pre-mature death. Could be luck of the draw.

Pros: Nice drive! Flash drive have certainly come down in price:) I would like these to be around 10 bucks.... then I would buy a half dozen of them.
Cons: Hard to swallow.
Other Thoughts: I have had no problems with this drive directly. Linux 64bit will read it in a flash but Linux 32bit... I have to plug it in and then pull it out and then plug it in again. The lesser size drives don't seem to have this problem

Unreliable
Pros: Small, retractable USB connector, fairly large storage capacity
Cons: Unreliable, no lanyard
Other Thoughts: When I attempt to store a large number of files with this thing I get write errors. Also, the write speed can be very slow. Maybe I have a defective one? I replaced it with an 8GB A-Data drive and that one works perfectly.

Good Drive - Slow Speeds
Pros: I have owned this drive for over 6 months now and it has held up to the abuse of hanging on my key chain. It has a pretty solid design and does what it is designed to do.
Cons: The read and write speeds could be better. When I upgrade to a larger thumbdrive I will definitely consider speed. With a low storage capacity speed doesnt really have an impact on my rating. It is a pain trying to find such a small ring to attach to this drive to use with a key chain. I eventually just cut down a small ring and forced it to a tighter circumference.

Fast, large
Pros: Inexpensive Fast transfer rates Fairly big storage It doesn't come with a stupid lanyard attachment
Cons: No major cons
Other Thoughts: The only problem I have with these drives is the stupid sliding USB connector as it can be a pain sometimes, that and the case itself feels fairly cheap even though it works.

Pros: 8GB for cheap. Retractable USB connector. Case has loop for lanyard.
Cons: Plastic case seems flimsy. No lanyard supplied, boo-hoo-hoo.

Works great to date
Pros: Works great so far and has not given me any reason to think otherwise. I like the retractable head much more than I thought I would. The plastic isn't as flimsy as what I thought it would be after reading other reviews. Don't abuse it and it seems it will be just fine. I can't say how fast it is but it's fast enough for my needs. It holds a ton of data (8gb's will be a joke in another year though, haha) and has worked great.
Cons: No lariat? I guess, I just grabbed one off a near obsolete 1gb USB memory key from work. Okay, everyone doesn't have this option but I have not used the lariat yet so it really doesn't make a difference to me to have one or not.
Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for. This thing does the job I expected it to do perfectly. Temporarily hold and transfer large files from one PC to another. It could break in a few years but by then an 8gb USB key will be about $2.

Back up
Pros: Retractable button. Sturdy construction stands up to time. Decent price. Large enough to store a few os images...not Vista.
Cons: Slow read and write
Other Thoughts: Decent size and affordability for backing up crucial information such as email and financial data.

Large yes, fast NO
Pros: This drive holds 8GB. A few years ago there were hard drives that couldn't hold this much!!
Cons: Pitifully, painfully SLOWWWWW!!! It is hard to describe just how slow this drive is. Also the sliding portion of this drive is not engineered very well. It takes quite a bit of effort to move the slide.
Other Thoughts: I got this drive elsewhere because it was at a great price, but in hindsight I should have stuck with the Sandisk drives. They are much faster and engineered very well. Many times you do actually get what you pay for.

decent drive
Pros: Holds 8GB (well at least close enough), decent access time, slide-out connector so no cap to lose!
Cons: Somewhat slow read time creates lag on my in-dash mp3 player, connector is never "secure" so it loses connectivity with large pot-holes, price dropped after i bought it...but that always happens!
Other Thoughts: I am using this drive strictly for playing music in my car...I have a Kenwood Excelon x491 w/ front usb jack...that being said: I don't recommend this drive for that purpose! The access times are not quite fast enough to prevent an occasional error or skip...but i do mean occasional! With a drive featuring 120x, you could avoid these problems possibly...so it helps to keep that in mind if you are planning on using this for that. Otherwise, it is great for the price!

Eh...
Pros: I like the slider design. It's got a decent speed to it. The light isn't too bright since it's inside of it. 8gb for $30 is almost unbeatable.
Cons: Easily breakable. Just a few tab to hole connections with some glue, and the drive inside isn't even attached. If the cover comes off the drive will undoubtedly hit the ground.
Other Thoughts: If u do get it; just pop it apart with a small screw driver or knife and glue it back together with superglue. Be careful not to lose the slider button or glue the slider in place. After I glued it back together with some cheap superglue it hasn't fallen apart again, even with the punishment I put it through. Still worth the price if ur willing to put some effort and buy some better glue.

Perfect.
Pros: It's highly portable and fits well in your pocket. It's just large enough to carry almost any type of data. I have had no issues at all, the speed is pretty decent, never have had a failure.
Cons: Nothing. For the price, this is great.
Other Thoughts: I could always use more space...but if you want something cheap and reliable, hook up this purchase.

Better than expected
Pros: Good capacity, good brand, durable and reliable. I love the retractable design.
Cons: Price, maybe?
Other Thoughts: I picked this one up on sale back around Easter and have been carrying it since. Haven't had any problems - it just works. Well, yesterday, my wife brought me this drive, fresh and clean from the washing machine. Still works, none of the data is corrupted and only minor damage to the case. (I don't advise that you try this at home.)

Great value for the money
Pros: A hardy, dependable flash drive. The retractable USB plug is a major plus.
Cons: Write speed is a bit slower than some other drives.
Other Thoughts: The balance of quality and price makes this a great flash drive, whether for transporting data from one machine to another or for archiving those important files.

SLOOOWWW using Firefox & Thunderbird
Pros: Capacity, retractable, price
Cons: I am using this to run Firefox & Thunderbird via portable apps. They ran fine on my 4gig but with this 8gig, I might as well be on dial up. Its very slooooow. I am seriously thinking moving back to my 4gig. Our tech guy has seen other complaints similar with the 8 gig flash drives.
Other Thoughts: Fine for file storage/transfer

switch type
Pros: The switch/button in-out is the single best feature in this memory stick. Love that design, wish they all did that. Can be riged to a key chain et al.
Cons: None, write speed not a big deal. There isn't a whole lot of variability between makes.
Other Thoughts: Didn't purchase from NE, paid alittle more :(

Nice memory stick.
Pros: This is a pretty good memory stick, especially for the price you pay for it. It's fast and does the job.
Cons: Only wish it had a better system for attaching it to a lanyard. I just used a piece of fishing line.
Other Thoughts: Anyone that says this thing is too fragile or anything along those lines is crazy. Yeah obviously you'll want to take extra care you don't "bump it while it's connected", as you would do with anything that is plugged into your computer. Personally I feel your own carelessness is an unfair reason to rate this product 1 out of 5. Also you only get 7.5GB of usable storage space on this stick, but I'm sure anyone knows you never get the full space as advertised.

Eggulous
Pros: Wow, Newegg, I ordered late afternoon on the 15th and at 10:20 the 16th ups was knocking on my door. I like that kind of magic. I am very pleased with the drive for the price I paid, especially when Newegg paid for shipping. Retracting is tight so far, connection is positive, and drive is fast enough for my purpose. Another great transaction with Newegg, Thank you.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I wish the activity light was a little larger. (Old eyes).

FRAIL!
Pros: Nice storage, decent speed, great price.
Cons: This thing is frail! I had the drive on the front USB and I bumped it. That messed up the connection inside, and now the drive doesnt work. It had to be held a certain way just so I was able to save my files from it. I owned it for a week. I have other UBS drives that are still good after a few years, and have seem way more abuse than a bump.
Other Thoughts: I got this because it had decent storage at a super cheap price. Be careful, this drive cannot take any damage.

A fine flash drive
Pros: Small, cheap, large capacity flash drive. I am constantly transferring files back and forth between computers that are too large send via internet and this gets the job done very well.
Cons: Slightly slower write speed than I had hoped but it is about what I expected for the money. Obviously putting a multi gb file on the drive would take a little time.

Pros: Comes pre-formatted as FAT32, no junk pre-installed. Looks nice, no cap is an A+. Reads quickly, writes quickly.
Cons: It's ONLY 8GB. Big deal, it's still enough for some DVD rips, music, pictures, and, oh yeah, Word documents.

Great Product
Pros: Everything. Fast. Reliable. Large Capacity.
Cons: None so Far. Only thing that will cause a con, is either DoA or it dies all of a sudden.

Great value.
Pros: Great bang for the buck. The drive really seems to be of very sturdy construction and the read/write speeds are better than other flash drives I've had before. Retractable usb drives are the only way to go! No annoying caps to lose.
Cons: No lanyard. To be fair, there is a small hole to loop a string through on the back end, but nothing to attach to a keyring which is what I prefer personally.
Other Thoughts: I was only shopping for a 4gb flash drive, but when I saw the price on this one, I had to get it. Great price for what you get. Newegg rocks.

An Excellent Drive
Pros: As expected from Kingston, a solid, fast, and reliable drive. I have no complaints.
Cons: I love to complain, but can't.
Other Thoughts: On POSIX systems, a significant speed boost can be obtained by replacing the outdated MS filesystem with XFS or ReiserFS

like a champ
Pros: works great- data throughput/read/write seem fast. easy to get out of package - no plastic clam seal. slide for usb connector feels firm - not flimsy drive casing secure - accidental 4ft drops to a hard floor with no damage or case separation.
Cons: curve of key ring hole seems shallow and thin. didn't freely spin on two different key rings I tried.

Love it, love it, love it!
Pros: I love it! It works great, fast access and fast transfer rates. It holds a lot more than my old 4GB PNY jump drive. Doesn't need a cap, hence, no cap to lose; uses the locking mechanism to lock the USB connection into place. Great price for the storage.. Small so it doesn't bother me when I put it in my pocket.
Cons: None!
Other Thoughts: I love Newegg. :D

Works Fine
Pros: No cap to lose. Decent space for the price (and I grabbed mine with free shpping too).
Cons: Not the fastest drive out there.
Other Thoughts: I often keep this in my pocket along with some small metal work tools I need, and it's holding up well. Sometimes I have so much ... junk in my pocket I'm sure I'm going to break this thing, but no issues yet.

Pros: Good sequential data transfer speeds. Cheap. High capacity. No cap that can be lost.
Cons: Very low random-access data transfer speeds. Does not come with a lanyard. The lanyard
Other Thoughts: Very light and gives the impression of being flimsy at first, but if you try to actually deform it you find that the plastic case is surprisingly strong. That said, it's not the most rugged unit out there - but it's very good for the price.

Works well, feels cheap.
Pros: Works great. I use it at the office constantly. I upgraded from a 4GB flashdrive and I'm loving the additional space. No problems with Vista x64, XP or Ubuntu. I like that the header is a "slider"... No cap to lose!
Cons: Casing feels cheap. I can actually pry it open pretty far and see the chip within.

Pros: Decent speed, sturdy design, no cap to lose, smooth retracting usb connector, small form.
Cons: The little write-indicator light is right next to the usb connection end and not at the other end of the stick. I've got a laptop and I keep the mouse plugged into the usb port above it so I can't tell if it's writing or not.
Other Thoughts: Cool little drive. Glad I bought it.

Pros: It was Cheap. The Casing feels a lil Light but Def. Sturdy and non Cheap Feeling. 8 G's can't go wrong. Took me about 60 sec for a 1Gig movie which isn't bad for the price.
Cons: Some People claim to have gotten a Lanyard with theres. I didn't but I just used the one from my Last USB that I dont use so No Big Deal ... BUY urs NOW !

Great buy!
Pros: Cheap. Kingston quality. Large capacity. No cap needed. Fairly quick. Green LED light isn't annoyingly noticeable. Looks nice (pictures don't do it justice). Lanyard/key chain attachment. Thin enough to allow use of neighboring USB port. Cheap. Runs portable software fairly quickly. Ready boost (for what it's worth). No useless software preinstalled. Overall awesome!
Cons: None that would detract from the usefulness of the flash drive. Does NOT come with a lanyard but... so what? I have a lanyard already for my job and I've got a MILLION key chain rings laying around. Either of those only cost a dollar or two at MOST anyway. Seriously if your main concern is a lanyard you probably should not be allowed near a PC. Really.
Other Thoughts: Kingston delivers a winner with this flash drive (and we all already know Newegg rocks!). It is a perfect balance of price/performance. It really does look better in hand then in photo. Can't go wrong, buy it!

Nice Storage, Cheap Case
Pros: Good value ($4.75/GB including shipping) for the amount of storage, Kingston name. Lighter than DTI/1GB model. Works.
Cons: The plastic case is cheaper than previously owned DTI/1GB model. I would have liked harder/thicker plastic for the outer shell. Sliding mechanism is also relatively cheap.
Other Thoughts: I does not seem to be too slow when transferring large (>1GB) amounts of data. 7.44GB FAT32 formatted, physical dimensions almost identical to DTI/1GB model

Good show
Pros: High storage space, fast transfer (for a flash drive)
Cons: None aside from the common problem of all flash drives- MAKE SURE YOU HAVE IT BEFORE LEAVING.
Other Thoughts: With the instant discount the price is half of what it was normally. I don't think I would pay full price for it, being twice that of other 8gb flash drives. You don't get $30 worth of extra features

8GBs for LEss than $32.00!
Pros: I keep at least three flash drives and a portable hard drive in my purse at all times. I do a lot of writing and graphics so it is great now to be able to download images and documents onto one little flash drive. Easier on the weight too. Going to order another as a gift and maybe buy one for me later to replace a 2 GB drive. No lanyard, but for me, that's not a problem.
Cons: None that I can think of.

Works well
Pros: Fast. I tested by transferring a single 500MB ISO file and it was able to write at 9.31 MB/sec and read at 17.13 MB/sec. This is twice as fast as an old thumb drive I have.
Retractable. The retractable usb plug works well; locks into place when opened and closed.
Lots of space. 8GB (but only 7.44GB formatted).
Cons: None.

Great drive!
Pros: The sliding/locking mechanism locks into place as it should, unlike my Sandisk. Works as advertised. Reasonably fast.
Cons: It would have been nice to have a lanyard, but I had a spare so no biggie for me. I looked at the pictures so I knew it didn't come with one. ;)
Other Thoughts: Hard to beat for the price when it's on sale!

Great Drive
Pros: This is a large capacity drive for a small capacity price. Although it's plastic, this drive feels much more solid than past ones I've owned (like the SanDisk Cruzer micro which feels incredibly cheap).
Cons: The only reason I didn't give it a rating of 5 was that in addition to not having a lanyard (as others have noted), the place intended to attach it to a lanyard/keyring is so small as to make it nearly impossible to actually connect to a keyring. It's just poor design. That doesn't affect the functionality, of course, and this small criticism doesn't prevent me from recommending it.
Other Thoughts: The "drive active" light is pretty small and dim, so that may be an issue for some people.

DO NOT BUY
Pros: Transfer rate is good.
Cons: I have had 2 consecutive drives fail on me. The first about 2 months after I recieved it from Newegg. The second, 5 days after I recieved it from Kingston.
Other Thoughts: Kingston's Customer Service and Life Time Warranty are great. They pay shipping both ways.

I'd buy it again!
Pros: Faster than others I've owned.
Cons: I had to return the first one because the insides started to rattle. It's the first time I used Newegg's RMA process, and it was excellent! The reorder was processed promptly.
Other Thoughts: I've had a dozen USB drives (and given 1/2 of them away, eventually). This one is definitely faster than most (I knew it when I bought it; I own the 1 Gig version, too). No cap makes it highly desirable.

Very Impressed
Pros: Awesome little USB drive. Fairly quick transfers and nice looking to boot! Seems to be really durable. I've already dropped it a couple of times on a hard floor, and it justs bounces and keeps on working! The sliding/locking mechanism works and locks really well.
Cons: None! Works great!
Other Thoughts: 1. It DOES have a 'busy' light on it. It's green. Some reviewer said it didn't, but it does. 2. It doesn't have a lanyard, BUT it does have a place for one on the end of the drive, imbedded into the case.

Flash Drive!
Pros: This drive is sturdy, the housing is strong and it does it's job. The lanyard is no big deal to me at least. Finally this drive doesn't have the huge drive lights like those on the sandisk cruzers, which leads to lower power consumption and makes it more universally readable on computers with many power hungry USB devices.
Cons: I BUY MANY DRIVES, THERE ARE MANY LIKE IT BUT, THIS ONE IS MINE!

Very Happy!
Pros: I read the reviews on this drive, most of the bad reviews are because of the lack of a lanyard, but don't let that make you over-look this flash drive. The price is less than i payed for a 4 Gig a year ago, the transfer rate is fast, no software load like my 4 Gig cruizer micro did, LOTS of space. A lot of people were turned off by the casing. The casing my look fragile, but this thing is well made, the slide design is also a plus. This flash drive is one of the best I ever owned.
Cons: None. The lanyard was an easy fix.
Other Thoughts: Works fast, great design, Kingston has always been a great company. Shipped FAST, Thanks Newegg!

Data Storage, no intrusive content
Pros: Good drive for data storage, with no pre-loaded files which try to execute unwanted apps.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I once purchased a flash drive by a different manufacturer, and was disappointed to find it was loaded with auto-execute apps which cannot be remooved. I purchase flash drives for data storage and transfer, and I appreciate the Kingston drive - a company with a great reputation for highly reliable memory, and a drive without unwanted stuff.

Pros: 8GB, Big storage in a small package, dirt cheap, Well designed. I really like the capless retractable design

Great Stick!
Pros: Pretty quick write speed IMO, nice case, retractable connector, I use it to watch DivX movies on my Xbox360 and to listen to music in my car and it doesn't fail me. I don't want to put it on my key chain so not having a 'lanyard' doesn't bother me.
Cons: Not the most beautiful looking flash drive, other than that I can't think of any cons.
Other Thoughts: I would recommend this drive to anyone who needs a flash drive.

Superb!
Pros: I just got this item and am very pleased with it. The speed transfer rates are incredible... much faster than my old 1GB Traveldrive. And it's quite spacious. So all those concert photos I have can go on it, with tons of space left over. Not only that it is built pretty well, but at the same time small and compact (especially for 8GB).
Cons: Nothing. And a cheap little piece of string doesn't impact my review.
Other Thoughts: Seriously, if you're going to complain about the lanyard stop it. Stop rating it down two or three stars because it is missing a dumb piece of string. Go to that one auction bidding site (i can't mention it by name), type: USB LANYARD... and there are a few there for like $3 or so. Stop your complaining. This device is very cheap for how much space it offers. It's just a lot of space for a very low price. Don't be complaining that you're losing it. I already had three lanyards on hand from old cell phones I used to have... seriously, just stop being bozos and look at the quality of the product itself.

My review of the Kingston DataTraveler 100
Pros: Holds everything. Transfers are quick and its volume name is KINGSTON for easy finding. Great value.
Cons: Not really a con on the products part but I would like to give a word of advice. Buy a lanyard or tether it to something because it is that small. I have almost lost it a few times.
Other Thoughts: Nothing really else to note. I use it to store my music for long drives in the car.

Average Flash Drive
Pros: The capless design is nice and the slide operates smoothly. Good capacity and is recognized quickly by either OS X or Windows machines.
Cons: The performance is only about average and writing is considerably slower than reading. I had been looking at a competitor product, but was swayed by the bargain price--it's not a bad flash drive, it's just not a stellar performer.

best ever
Pros: Lots of storage space. Windows installs it quickly. The capless design works great. No problems with it like other posts mentioned. The plastic casing may feel a little cheap, but the thing is so light that it doesn't matter.
Cons: It would be better if it had a busy light on it. By looking at it you can't tell if your computer is reading/writing to the flash drive.

Come On Guys!
Pros: This drive has a great price to performance ratio. Very fast flash drives! Kingston as usual comes through with excellent warranty again.
Cons: NO LANYARD???? THERE'S NO LANYARD IN THE PICTURE! The bad reviews people are giving this because of the no lanyard thing...bull. There's no lanyard in the picture, and guess what? A LOT of flash drives don't come with them. Why are you guys giving bad reviews on a product because you THINK its supposed to come with a freakin PIECE OF STRING!
Other Thoughts: Seriously...ignore the bad reviews. The "lanyard" is not hardware, nor is it anything to do with newegg. Why give this thing a bad review because people are idiots?

Ok, but no lanyard
Pros: Good price. Retractable connector, no cap to lose.
Cons: No lanyard. Can't connect to keychain so what's the point. These connector thingy's by themselves aren't that easy to find.
Other Thoughts: Why the heck couldn't they have included the lanyard so the thing would actually be USEFUL?

No lanyard
Pros: It works, nothing proprietary or obnoxious like that E3 5h1+.
Cons: No lanyard.

Beware of Cheap Casing
Pros: -Size 8GB -For the storage you get the price is acceptable -It takes just as a long for this to recognize as other flash drives do on unfamiliar PCs. -Capless design -5yr warranty
Cons: -Very cheap packaging, the manual is printed on the inside of the packaging instead of a tiny little paper manual -The drive itself is cheap. The casing looks nice and everything but its very cheap for a flash drive. The Kingston DT (not DT100) cases the flash in better plastic. -Hope it the plastic doesnt shatter or crack... -The mechanism to slide the drive in and out is a little hard to maneuver and a little on the cheap side too - I can see it breaking in the near future.
Other Thoughts: -As long as the drive doesnt break and the flash memory stays good then it should be a fine drive, just feels really cheap.

Nice!!
Pros: Nice flash drive. I have an 8 Gig Transcend and thought it was nice, but slow during download process when transferring files to it. This Kingston downloads in a flash (like "flash" drives should). Now this is my primary and I use the Trancend as a backup.
Cons: None except a little tight when plugging into USB port. I have to hold on to the retracting button on the side so it won't slide back into its case when inserting it into a port. But considering the performance, I can live with it.
Other Thoughts: I wish I would have bought this before I bought my Transcend

Dependable Device
Pros: Steady reliable performer. Compared with several other thumb drives I've owned this is the best. I use it on a daily basis across several types and brands of PCs and the only annoyance is the (about) 20 second recognition delay when you use it on a new machine.
Cons: Write speed not what I dream of ... but what is?!
Other Thoughts: NewEgg got it to me faster than I expected. It's worked great, straight out of the box.

Kingston Rocks As Usual
Pros: Everything!
Cons: People bashing the product because they didn't get a lanyard or didn't like the cosmetics of the unit.
Other Thoughts: Don't let the idiot who posted about not getting a lanyard sway your decision about this product. If you've ever purchased a Kingston product before, you can expect the same quality as usual. I'm using this drive to do intermittent backups of files. Great way to transfer large amounts of data, easily, and quickly. If spending 10 bucks/per GB of space is out of your league, i'm sure the price will drop steadily. Great product.

Pros: Its black..?
Cons: Highly disapointed! The picture shows it comes with a tie cord. It doesn't. The housing reminds me of the cheap toys we used to get in Cracker Jack's, but this is no prize. Rarely do I give a bad review, but I will make an exception for this one.
