something changed
Pros: Works OK but is not the same as the same product ordered last year.
Cons: Note this memory has somehow changed in the past year. I recently added another GB of memory to my system and the most recent memories caused the BIOS to complain they were not the same speed as earlier versions of the same chip from the same vendor and from NewEgg. I had to do some swapping around to get the BIOS to say it did not have a speed mismatch.

Helped an old machine live another day
Pros: This was for an older XP machine that had been disused for a while because it dragged when used. The memory made all the difference. Bought this along with an inexpensive Video card to use as a HTPC/TV gamer. It really made a huge difference.
Cons: None known
Other Thoughts: Keeps old machines productive

best RAM, most compatible fro DELL
Pros: Good quality RAM. For some reason, DELLs like this ram more than others. I had a hard time getting several DELLs to see kingston and other brands as DDR400, they all showed 333. however whenever i used all corsair it showed as DDR400
Cons: none so far

Good Memory, BAD REBATE
Pros: • The memory is excellent and has performed exactly as expected. Corsair memory is top-of-the line, even its value sticks. • Can't beat the price!
Cons: • The current mail-in rebate (as on 12/09) is quite unclear as to its limitations. I purchased two sticks of this item on two different invoices and was only able to receive the rebate on one of the sticks. The rebate terms state only one "card" per household but does not say only one rebate per household . Be warned, the rebate is actually: "Limit one rebate per household."

Value memory
Pros: Put it in. Detected. No errors. Easy.
Cons: I'll let you know if any arise.
Other Thoughts: Go with the 1GB sticks if you can get a good deal. Don't waste valuable slots.

What happened to these?
Pros: Price. These work fine if you don't have any other, older chips already plugged in.
Cons: I have the older 512MB Valueselect chips and they're still running fine. I installed these new ones on a customer's PC and they worked so well I almost got them for myself. Then I read David Smith ImChance's review and I thought twice. I doubled checked David's findings on my customer PC and David was 100% correct. These NEW chips are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than Corsair's older chips by the very same name. That's EXTREMELY misleading! You can NOT have these in Dual Channel Mode with the previous chip configuration on the older ValueSelects. I see a Manufacturer reply refuting that but I'm refuting them here. These new chips do NOT WORK IN DUAL CHANNEL MODE IF YOU HAVE THE OLDER CHIPS BY THE SAME NAME!! The chip configs aren't compatible.
Other Thoughts: I guess if you're replacing your chips entirely with these new ones and are happy with 2GB max....these aren't a bad option.

Corsair 512mb DDR 400 memory
Pros: Memory arrived in about 1 week, installed in my Dell Optiplex GX 270, greatly improved speed of my computer use on the net.
Cons: None, works very well.
Other Thoughts: I will be checking with Newegg in the future for any of my electronic needs Thanks

Good and cheap
Pros: Cheap and easy upgrade for older computers; Corsair is a brand known for quality; memory works like a champ!
Cons: Delivery with Egg Saver shipping was s-l-o-w this time. Usually it doesn't take that long to get here.

Pros: Fits in just fine, comes with screws, not loud
Cons: no LEDs, but whatever
Other Thoughts: I was a bit skeptical after I was reading all of these reviews that they didn't fit, but figured it was worth a shot. Turns out, it does. And it keeps my 1 TB WD caviar black HDD nice and cool.

Pros: I love ram and I love rebates so this is perfect for me. I also dont have to hear any more beep beep beep bologna when I start my computer anymore. Thank you Corsair!
Cons: Nothing
Other Thoughts: I may buy another down the road. Oh and thanks to newegg too, its the only website I buy from.

Very good performance!
Pros: It is rather decent. Gave no problems whatsoever over the range of two years. Memory isn't really something you can always measure performance on, yet it seems to work without a hitch. MemTest86 gives it a full thumbs up, and so do I.
Cons: No problems. Needs a regular dusting like all other memory, but nothing of the ordinary.
Other Thoughts: Just make sure that when installing memory that if all the boards are running at the same speed in Mhz (e.g., 333 Mhz), otherwise a slower one will bring the higher ones down to its level. So, one 333 Mhz will bring two 400 Mhz down to its speed. Unless of course this doesn't bother you.

Good memory
Pros: Built my computer 5 years ago using this memory. Have had no issues with it. Now that I'm starting to do more on the computer, however, 1 gig is just not enough. So I'll be adding another gig.
Cons: zero issues in 5 years.

Worked in Dell 2400
Pros: Price, Easy to install
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I was running only 256 mb of ram on an older Dell Dimension 2400 desktop. Was very easy to install, took about 10 minutes total. Memory was recognized immediately. Great price with rebate.

Good Stuff
Pros: Corsair brand. Worked right out of package. No problems what so ever. Bought for client's Compaq "e-machine" & doubled his ram. Made a significant improvement.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: OK. I have placed about 10 newegg orders this year and I don't know if it's due to their financial troubles or what, but PLEASE Newegg, stop shipping by DHL. Orders thru them are the only unpredictable one's I get from you. At some point they hand off to the post office and tracking goes bye bye. You guys made your reputation on shipping, please use a more reliable source and let DHL go.

Quickly bit the dust
Pros: Inexpensive with rebate.
Cons: Not so inexpensive when defective and return shippping comes close to the rebate amount. Add in time spent and it's not the deal it seemed.
Other Thoughts: This is the first time memory has given me a real problem. Most times it's just not compatible with one brand and works in another. (Dell, IBM, HP, etc.)

Cons: none as of yet

Excellent
Pros: I've had it running almost 24/7 for 6 years, and it still works great!
Cons: After all this time, DDR is still relatively expensive compared to equivalent capacities of DDR2. That's sort of a pro for this memory, though, because I haven't had to replace it!

Works perfectly as anticipated
Pros: Performance and price. An elderly friend had a Dell desktop with 256 MB of memory to run XP Home. I upgraded with two of these sticks to 1 GB of memory and she said it "felt" like a new computer. The pricing is great because with the rebate, each stick costs $8. I can't think of any other upgrade I've ever done for $16 that made such a difference in performance - great bang for the bucks.
Cons: None

CorsairValue DDR400 - 512mb
Pros: Bought 4 of these about 2 years ago, for Intel mother board, works great.
Cons: One small problem: on 1st boot they were only recognized at 333 MHz, reset in bios to 400 MHz and still no problems.
Other Thoughts: I have built 6-7 computers over last 10 years and NewEgg is the 'ONLY' way to go. All others want more $$ for the exact same product!!!

Solid & cheap for stock setting use.
Pros: Solid as a rock. Corsiar is an excellent manufacturer and has great web support. I have been running 2 sticks for 3 years now. I popped two more in and had to do NOTHING else. They work exactly perfect with my well used ones.
Cons: None, they perform flawlessly if used as intended.
Other Thoughts: Valueram is budget ram that can't be tinkered with. It won't take well to timing adjustments and tweaking needed for overclocked CPU's. If you are one of those that loves to tune, step up to Corsairs XMS. You won't be sorry. ;-)

Inexpensive
Pros: Anytime you can add 512 RAM to the family PC for cheap, you have to grab opportunity. I use Corsair in almost all my builds and have never had an issue with them. XP computer now has 1gig which is plenty for what its needed used for.
Cons: Ridiculous what they charge at a retail store for this.
Other Thoughts: Newegg has saved me alot of money over the 8 years I've shopped here and I have not one complaint.

Reliable
Pros: Good solid memory for the average user. Installed this on a non gaming system and holds its own with todays games as of this review.
Cons: None really. Dont expect this to be blazing fast.

Good stuff
Pros: Good ram, price is right. Bought to upgrade a 478 board with 256 meg, the dual channed kit was sold out so bought two of these. Worked great , board didn't support dual channel though anyway.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Eggsaver shipping is slow, says 3-7 days, its 7 days from east coast to MN. I guess you get what you pay for, if your not in a big hurry, it just fine.

Pros: Had 2 512MB of the same type already in current computer (2yrs Old) wanted to upgrade to a total of 2 gigs so bought 2 of these. Although i knew it wasnt guaranteed that the serial production #'s would be in sync it was cheaper than buying the single 1G kit that had 2 512's in it. Nice surprise when it came in that the serial #'s were in order so i saved some money. Shipping was great and fast... it showed up before the projected ship/delivery date. Good packaging and in original containers. Easy install and still till this date no crashes what so ever and a very nice system speed increase. It used to take several minutes to attempt log out, now its a mere 5 seconds or less... VERY satisfied... thanks Newegg for being here... stores around my area did not carry this earlier version of RAM... Very pleasant ordering experience. newegg made it great and i will come back. I already have my next project in mind... hooking up laptop/desktop to HDTV 1080p. (Cables)
Cons: Cons? none that i can think of

Great RAM...horrible shipping
Pros: I bought this for a computer I built for my Mom a couple years ago. Installed and booted first time. Great value for the price.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: The Egg Saver shipping is horrible. I waited well over a week for the product to be delivered, and the tracking never worked until the day before delivery. My Dad ordered RAM for his laptop on 7/6 using Egg Saver and has not yet received it. Each time he emails Newegg he gets a different answer as to when the product was shipped. Tracking has yet to work for him. Newegg has been great up to this point for me, and the same goes for my workplace. I guess you get what you pay for.

Absolutely the best DDR RAM!
Pros: This is absolutely the best DDR RAM out there. Corsair is an awesome company with truly superb products. I've bought over 50 of these chips over the years for many many customers and never had a problem AT ALL.
Cons: No con whatsoever. Click 'Add to Cart' NOW!!!!!!!!
Other Thoughts: If you plug it in and it doesn't work, try unplugging all chips except this, and put it in the first slot. If it still doesn't work, make sure your motherboard support PC3200 RAM. If it still doesn't work, you may have gotten a bad chip, but no fear, Newegg returns are flawless! Like I said in the Pros box, I've never got a bad chip, so just return it and get a working one.

Good Price
Pros: Well i did recently purchase a whole new duo rig but my trusty amd 939 build couldn't go to waste so i decided improve the ram situation. Now i use as a workstation and general computer use. This memory is easily one of the best I've used and I only expect topnotch from Corsair whether it be its "value" price ram or the enthuasist type. Good timings on this DDR-400.
Cons: None at the moment I could think of.
Other Thoughts: This ram is bargain-priced so it's worth every penny. If you need a substanial improvement in performance, this memory will serve your needs.

Pros: It's Corsair! They have one of the best return policies out there. I've RMA'd stuff back to them before on 3 occasions (mostly flash drives) and had nothing but the best service.
Cons: Dude, it's DDR-1 memory, what could possibly go wrong other that DOA?

Awsome!!!
Pros: I inserted this ram with extreme ease and what a difference. I was running 256mb or ram before and now I bought two 512mb, making it 1gig, and I cannot believe this is my computer. This product is amazing.
Cons: I wish I would have done this sooner!

As an IT guy I have standards
Pros: good, when it works as its supposed to.
Cons: well I have bought 3 sticks in the past 7 months the first(12/2007) one I got just failed. the other two I got failed after about 2 weeks the replacemnt for those 2 sticks would not even boot up so needless to say I wont be buying anymore corsair value select ram
Other Thoughts: I had one stick that was value select that ran fine for 3+ years but after 3 strikes (one of them being a xmas present) the value ram is off my list of something to buy in the future im not saying I wouldn't buy the more expensive stuff but I would be very hesitant and will avoid it when possible. They need some serious quality control going on though.

Great RAM
Pros: The price for one. This RAM was very easy to install. Works great. Has my computer running at warp 5 now. Everything came in perfect order.
Cons: My computer doesn't support dual channel and can't get full 400mhz speed. Is an old Dell Dimension 2400. So can't change the bios. Man that sucks.
Other Thoughts: Can't wait to get another stick of this memory.

Solid Memory
Pros: Solid memory. I ordered this 7/29/2004 and my computer has only turned off with power outages and when I move. Never had any issues.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: My friend bought a new MB and he kept having all these issues with his brand x memory that he got for cheap. I had him pop my memory in so he could see if it was his MB or memory and my corsair (which was cheaper) worked just fine.

Great RAM
Pros: Inexpensive, extremely OC'able
Cons: Absolutely none.
Other Thoughts: I now have two sticks of this memory running at 510 mhz with memory timings of 3-4-3-8(CL-RCD-RP-RAS) on a Biostar TForce 6100-939 motherboard. This is outstanding performance for the price paid. Get some before they are gone. DDR memory won't be around forever and especially with this level of quality at this price point.

$$$!
Cons: None that have surfaced in 4 years of constant use.

Excellent RAM
Pros: Very reasonable price, CL2.5 timing, over clocks very well
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I bought this memory to add to two other sticks of memory (512 mb each) that over clocked to 490-500 mhz to make for a total of 2 gig of RAM. This memory didn't disappoint me as it is running at 490 mhz with a setting of CL3. It is doing exactly what I hoped it would. The performance is great, especially considering the price. The motherboard is a Biostar T-Force 6100-939 with an AMD Athlon X2 CPU (2.2 ghz OC'ed to 2.7 ghz). I can't say how pleased I am with the performance of this memory. Everest benches it at 7,119 mb/sec read, 4,868 mb/sec write and 5,420 mb/sec copy. This is very good performance for budget memory.

Good ram for the price
Pros: I added two of these to my computer to fix my low ram issues, and I gotta say, I saw a difference right away! So far it works great, no issues installing, no issues period.
Cons: none that I have seen so far

Failed Over Time
Pros: Was nice while it worked.
Cons: Failed over a year later, purchased 2/6/07. Caused random bluescreens and slow performance. Soon as it was removed everything was working. Even tried on another system, which failed to even boot with it.
Other Thoughts: The SECOND Corsair product to randomly fail. I had a 1GB Corsair MicoSD card that randomly decided to stop working. Overall Corsair has left me a very bitter and unreturning customer.
Manufacturer Response:We're very sorry your module failed. The Value Select modules do have a lifetime warranty and we'll gladly replace it.

Horrible--incompatible, crashed my PC
Pros: Seemed to be reasonable price for upgrading an older computer and most other Newegg reviews were favorable. Newegg provided prompt delivery.
Cons: It immediately crashed my Dell Dimension 4550 (533hz) PC and corrupted the BIOS. Reinstalling OEM memory did not fix it and Dell tech support did diagnostics and referred me to Corsair for help on this 3rd party upgrade. Although I selected this memory using the Newegg memory configurator, Corsair said it was NOT compatible and could not/would not assist in fixing my computer. After pleading with Dell, they helped me reinstall Windows for the OEM memory configuration but at the expense of losing critical files. I am still struggling to reload applications and drivers. Dell recommended against trying to reprogram the BIOS to avoid inducing failure of the over 5 year old motherboard.
Other Thoughts: I am not a computer whiz, just a retiree trying to keep an older computer going on my fixed income. I do not know why this PC3200 memory does not work in my computer or why Corsair only recommends 266 Mhz PC 2100. The Dell configurator recommends 512Mb 400 Hz PC 3200 memory for this computer. Since I relied on the Newegg configurator, I asked Newegg to waive the restocking fee and to give a full refund including s/h plus what I paid to ship it back. I hope they will at least do that for all the grief this has been from an incorrect configurator.
Manufacturer Response:Unfortunately installing the incorrect memory can have adverse effects such what you have. We will work with Newegg to try to avoid any incorrect configurator recommendations.

Cons: none at all superb mem!!!

Good. Works.
Pros: Worked properly when installed. Easy installation of course.

single side, dual channel
Pros: inexpensive
Cons: Ram stick has the same model number, description and specs as my other Corsair ram sticks, but this one only has chips on one side. My other Corsair sticks have chips on both sides. Can not get this one to run in dual channel with my three other Corsair ram sticks with chips on both sides.
Other Thoughts: I have tried several different Bios voltages and timing settings and it still won't allow the board to run dual channel. If I place 2 single sided sticks in, they will run dual channel.
Don't mix sticks with chips on both sides with sticks on just one side if you want to run dual channel. But there is NO WAY to tell what you will get from the order# or the specs!

Solid Mem
Pros: Very solid and dependible memory. Excellent value. Seems to run fairly fast for value mem and has never caused any problems on my system except when overclocking.
Cons: Don't buy this to overclock, not designed for it.
Other Thoughts: This doze what it's suppose to do very well. If I had 3 more slots to fill, I would buy this mem.

Please read!!!!
Pros: Memory seemed to run fine, no complaints about performance.
Cons: I was adding an addition 1 GB (2 512) to my PC. Unfortunately, the Corsair Memory would not work with the existing Apacer Memory I was running. Both brands were the same memory type, 512 MB DDR 400 (PC3200) 184-PIN
Other Thoughts: Im not sure if this is an issue with the Apacer or the Corsair memory but I tested all memory slots and memory combinations by rotating each memory stick to each slot. The result was; even though it recognized the addtional memory in all cases it would not continue to boot the pc.
I have had issues in the past with Corsair Memory not always being friendly with other brand names.

Most compatable brand
Pros: I love Corsair RAM, they are compatible with everything! I have an OLD Foxconn Mobo, and some weird brand "Elixer" memory. This RAM works in dual channel with my off brand RAM and cheap old mobo no problem.
Cons: None really, maybe that it isn't as pretty as G.Skill?
Other Thoughts: I would recommend this RAM to anyone who is concerned about compatibility. I'm sure this RAM would work with just about any mobo and RAM brands.

Budget Buy
Pros: Great bang for the buck. I've always found "Value Select" to be a reliable product.
Cons: none to speak of (you get what you pay for)
Other Thoughts: If you just need mem upgrade for basic pc apps, grat product...if you are looking to game, better off to wait and scrounge pennies for higher quality ram. The difference is night and day!

Fits the DDR bill
Pros: There is nothing but good things to be said about Corsair. I've built multiple pc's with their reliable brand. The "Valueselect" in itself are quite surperb relatively compared to other ddr-400 ram. The only drawback is that it is not ddr2 but that's the user's fault ;).
Cons: Nothing to report to say the least. If you have the extra cash i'd highly suggest the XMS series instead.
Other Thoughts: Wait till the rift in prices between ddr and ddr2 drops because right now ddr has a price premium ironically over ddr2.

Cons: PC 3200 is dated and dying.
Other Thoughts: I didn't have any of the problems that were mentioned earlier, but it didn't impress me, either.

Awesome Stuff
Pros: I have ordered about 10 sticks of this memory so far in the last year and a half since i have been servicing computers and this is the best value ram i recommend. I have not once yet had a faulty module, and great price for a easy upgrade
Cons: Nadda
Other Thoughts: Buy this..... or get a pair of 2! Even better

Bought for a friend
Pros: Corsair memory is pretty much the only memory i'll buy. It's fast, it's pricing is very similiar to other companies and their warranty is good as well.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I bought this stick for a friend to upgrade their computer to play World of Warcraft a bit better. They had been running on 512MB total before, so this upgrade doubled their memory. Everything went wonderfully, and the memory works perfectly.
