8G at 1066 can work
Pros: I have had two pairs of these modules, or 8G, running at 1066 with 2.1V installed in a GigaByte GA-EP45-UD3P with a Q9550 for over four months now without issue. Of course I had to educate myself on overclocking to get there. I raised the processor ratio so I could clock the FSB up to get 1066 but it does work. The processor is running at 3.3G. But search for information about overclocking these modules. Corsair's techs have explanations in forums out there.
Cons: When I first got both sets of paired modules I installed them and booted the setup. It was a new build so not having the memory report as a full 8G didn't alarm me at first but after swapping in and out modules, I discovered that although one pair of modules were labeled as each being 2G, they were actually 1G. Which made my setup report 6G instead of 8G. I was actually shocked at this considering the sticks were labeled as 2G by part number.
Other Thoughts: NewEgg issued a RMA to me and I returned the pair of modules which cost me the shipping. I got the replacement pair as soon as expected and installed them. Since the day I installed them, I haven't opened the computer case again. Installing Windows 7 64bit with this setup just flies. There is no other way to describe it. Other than the RMA this was the least eventful build I have done.

poor ram, poor service
Pros: one out of four sticks is still operational.
Cons: Three out of four sticks are not. I have been waiting about three weeks for replacements. Communication with Corsiar is poor.
Other Thoughts: I cannot recommend Corsair. I understand that ram goes bad, and a lifetime warranty is nice. However, the delays associated with getting replacement ram from Corsair is unacceptable to me, and one stick out of the pair that I purchased a year ago went bad - then the replacement ram went bad. Look elsewhere.

You will not be able to run 8 GBs at 1066
Pros: This memory will run 4 GBs at 1066 speeds.
Cons: This memory will not run 8 GBs at 1066 speeds. There are less ddr2 memory so the price jumped drastically. The same memory when the price was cheap could do 8 GBs at 1066, but not the latest rev 2.1.

They cost THAT much?
Pros: Have had this ram on two of my overclocked machines in the past 9 or so months. runs the advertised timings at 1066MHz @ 2.1V. They even have some room for overclocking as I accedentally ran them at 1150(ish)MHz while upping FSB for one run. Not sure of the timings at that speed though.
Cons: I only bought the two sticks and now I want more. Unfortunately the price has more than doubled since I bought these (paid $50 with rebate on 4/7/09), so I wont be running to buy another set.
Other Thoughts: It appears from all online stores that this RAM is extremely expensive now compared to last year. Why the increase? would love another set but untill those prices subside, I'll live with a 4GB machine.

why the jump in price?
Pros: works well with my q6600 and asus rampage formula motherboard, plenty of memory for win7 64 bit and all games that i've encountered
Cons: price
Other Thoughts: i purchased this memory kit one year from today, and it has LITERALLY doubled in price (paid $74 for it). what gives?

Not the best out there
Pros: They have nice looking heat sinks. They look high end. They sound high end. (Dominator) They sure cost high end.
Newegg delivers so fast, your head spins.
Cons: Gigabyte EP-45-UD3R motherboard stalls at the memory test. Overclocking attempts on a Q6600 (B stepping) result in a bsod or reboot when the system is taxed. Overclocking is out with this memory. Processor runs fine at 3.2 gigahertz with generic memory though. Had memory in for 9 months without overclocking the processor or memory, and it corrupted the windows installation the first time it ran overnight. Just ran it overnight again after a fresh windows install and it did a BSOD. Tried running memtest on it at reboot and it lasted for under 10 seconds before rebooting. Tried memtest 4 times with the same results. Tried another set of 2 X 1 gig corsair memory in another build and it would not play nice with the other memory that I had in it. Tried the 'ol generic sticks and all problems went away.
Other Thoughts: This memory should not be recommended in Gigabyte's compatibility chart. 2 Gigabyte builds with 2 Different sets of Corsair sticks of different sizes show problems in both machines with Corsair memory. Generic memory makes all of the problems disappear.
The twin2x4096 memory that I received may be going belly up, as memtest can not even run after hours of use.
9 months old and I will be looking for new memory to replace it. The other 2 sticks of corsair 2X1 gig are sitting on my workbench unused because of fears of stability, not to mention compatibility with Gigabyte boards.
High end (expensive) memory should not give so much grief.

Great Memory
Pros: Solid, reliable memory. With 5-5-5-15 timings, it keeps up and sometimes outperforms DDR3 1066. The heat sinks work well especially if you have a smaller case. Able to handle many memory intensive programs (such as: After Effects, 3DS Max, Premiere, etc.). Only time I noticed any lag due to the memory was when I had all three of those programs running simultaneously. Some people don't take the brand to heart. I, personally, don't use anything besides corsair, when it comes to memory. I have used others in the past and have had my share of issues.
Cons: Have yet to see any (cons), after over a year of intensive use.
Other Thoughts: When I purchased this ram, I was looking for something that would handle my programs well and with speed. Having used this set everyday for well over a year, I know I will be buying corsair for a long time. For those of you who are looking to build a new system, unless you are going to be using DDR3 1600 or overclock DDR3 1066, I'd recommend going with a reliable DDR2 1066 memory set, such as this. The lower timings do help it keep up and at times out perform older DDR3 sets. I say older as in months. This is a very similar situation to the battle between DDR and DDR2 memory. At first DDR 600 was holding its own against DDR2, mainly due to the lower latency it (DDR) had over DDR2. However, once DDR2 got its timings down, DDR had to throw in the towel. As with DDR2, once DDR3 gets its timings down it will be the new "standard" for memory. All in all, you can count on getting quality with this set.

Works, but be prepared to play with it
Pros: Fast. Works. Excellent support and RMA system
Cons: Running 2 pair, I had one go bad after almost a year. it was easy and quick to RMA. (Failures happen. Life is like that. anyone who complains about a once in a while failure is being too nitpicky.)
Other Thoughts: it takes some fiddling to make 8GB work. Turn up the NB voltage to 1.3 to 1.4 if you want 8GB to work. I have mine running at 1.3v with 8GB at DDR2-1053.

Corsair RAM
Pros: Absolutely none - at this point.
Cons: I have purchase Corsair Dominator RAM (PC-8500) for two separate computers. So far, none has worked reliably, whether at at default settings or the manufacturer's specified settings.
Other Thoughts: I first purchased two 1Gb sticks (ver 1.2), and later added two additional 1Gb sticks (ver 2.3). This was before learning about the two different versions (one was spec'd at 2.15 v, the other 2.20 v). I later purchsed two 2 Gb sticks of Corsair Dominator (PC-8500) RAM for another system. And, have tried switching the RAM back and forth, for what has now been quite a few months. I get nothing but errors and problems. Once in a while, either of the two systems will seem to work stably, but then, for no specific reason, will return to BSODs and many other problems.

Beware!
Pros: The RAM looks nice, easy to handle. Works great at first, a nice price when I bought it.
Cons: As you may have seen, this RAM has HUGE dying problems. Within 2 months, one of my sticks have completely died! Two months! I know some of you may take the good reviews and overshadow this one, Its fast RAM, But it just dies so so quick. Been nothing but trouble sense I've bought it.
Other Thoughts: Main Point:
This is a gamble to buy this, if you buy it, make sure you are comfortable with the fact it MAY die very soon. It may work perfect, it may not. I'm just saying if you have a tight budget i'd look to something that'd last a bit longer.

Worked great at first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: Worked fast as could be out of box for about 6 months working with 8 gigs.
Cons: Would be no eggs if possible. Now almost a year later running on only 2 gigs and other three sticks bad. Two wont even run causing MB to indicate a problem. Then third stick boots but after starting windows crashes within one minute of being on!
Other Thoughts: Going shopping for another brand.

Works as advertised
Pros: Has worked just fine in 1066 ganged mode on my ASUS M3N-HT mobo for over a year.
Cons: This might be a motherboard issue but if I try to activate the OC mode on the mobo AND sli-ready memory, the system will not post. This keeps me from really getting the performance out of the memory that they're capable of. Again, not sure if this is a memory or motherboard issue.
Other Thoughts: If you need stable memory and dont plan to do any overclocking then this stuff is very good.

D-E-A-D
Pros: Worked for awhile.
Cons: Doesn't work now. Expensive for a product that failed so quickly.
Other Thoughts: I bought this memory almost a year ago when I built my new PC with all new parts. It worked well up until last month when I kept getting a BSOD, tracked down the error message on a different computer, and found out that it was bad RAM. Since I had two sticks, I took one out and ran the system with the remaining good stick. This week, I'm getting BSOD again, same message. So, in less than a year, both sticks of this memory have died. I don't overclock or run anything outrageous, just your run of the mill web browsing, music, and the occasional audio editing. I have never had any RAM go bad in any other system, I got this thinking it was the "best" from the reviews and now I have two pieces of scrap to recycle now. Sorry, but I will NEVER buy Corsair again.

Great ram
Pros: This ram ran great. I did have to go into my bios to change the ram settings but overall great. I have had them installed for a little over a year and not one problem what so ever.
Cons: Currently the price. I bought them for $69.00 a year ago
Other Thoughts: I want to buy another 2 sticks to put into my system but I am wishing I would have just spent the extra then.

Pros: none
Cons: Computer kept crashing ran memtest disk, Ram was bad. RMA back to newegg. Two months later second pair is dying, ran memtest and getting errors. I hope i cant get my money back or swap for other memory, prices have jumped up.

good for 4GB config
Pros: fast, easy to get working on P43 and P45 boards. cheap when I bought them, but not so much now.
Cons: won't, no matter what I try, work in 8GB configurations. I have 2 identical pairs, but it won't be stable at any speed. I've tried 4 boards, from P35 to P43 to P45, from 400 to 1066, at 1.8v to 2.2v, but still a no go.
Other Thoughts: warning about 8GB configurations would be nice.

GOOD RAM
Pros: I have had the TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF for over a year and never had any problems with it. I just desided to go from 4GB to 8GB
Cons: I don't have any cons.
Other Thoughts: Operating System; Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit CPU; AMD Phenom 9850 Black Edition 2.5GHz Quad-Core Motherboard; ASUS Crosshair II Formula Memory; CORSAIR DOMINATOR 8GB (4 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) with Airflow Fan Hard drives; Western Digital Raptor 1x150GB 1x75GB SATA Video card; Dual Asus EN9600GT SILENT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 Keybord; Logitech G110 Gaming keybord mouse; Logitech G9x gaming mouse monitor; Asus MW221u 22" widescreen 1680 x 1050 @ 60 MHz Computer Case; Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel w/ 4xblue LED 120mm 1x 200mm Fans Power supplie; Thermaltake Black Widow 850W

Just say NO
Pros: Supposed to be fact, cool heatsink
Cons: High failure rate, see corsair forums. Techie answer is "Its high end, you better be ready to tweak BIOS to make it work". Common issue is that it runs for a while, 4-8 months, then dies. Debugging is a major pain. Sorsair says it overwhelms Intel chipsets.
Other Thoughts: Definitely NOT what I expect from Corsair. Past NewEgg RMA, expensive reminder to K.I.S.S. Agreed to RMA, but what then?

Just Say NO!
Pros: Cool heatsink on DIMMs, OK WHILE they worked.
Cons: 7 months in, dead as doornails. Decent support, but who has the time? You spend the $$, install and verify. S/B end of customer problem, then they fail, and you're asked to do back fkips for 40 hrs to solve their QC issues. Bad Corsair, Bad!
Other Thoughts: Vista 64 bit(yeah, I know...), GA-EP45-UD3P, 8 GB of this stuff (4 sticks), Corsair 650w PSU. Corasair support site rife with this complaint.. 6 months in belly up, Sounds like many RMAs worse than 1st complaint. All sticks fail memtest now.
Now I gotta eat and buy new memory that works.

Price is rediculous. Great RAM though
Pros: Works flawlessly, fast and stable. Really cool looking too.
Cons: Heat spreader is very tall, could be a problem if you have space issues in your case.
Other Thoughts: Should have bought 8GB last December, It was $60 - $20 rebate = $40. You can buy a new processor for this price. Or a new motherboard and ram.

Not Always Corsair's fault
Pros: Works as advertised with settings at 5,5,5,15,2T, 2.1 volts Have 4 sticks installed for 8 gig. Works perfect with Windows 7 64 bit.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Second set I purchased refused to boot, worked fine with 3 sticks installed. So I thought it was a bad module, and as always Newegg was Excellent on their RMA. Received second set and had same problem. I did not believe that it could happen twice, so I did some troubleshooting and did a bios update on my Asus M3A79-T Deluxe and it worked fine. I should have done this in the first place. I am sure that some module ship bad, however I think it is sometimes our on fault, in not checking other possibilities first before blaming the Manufacturer. I am very pleased with this, I just wish that I had gone a little futher before RMA'ing the first set.

What's with the price?
Pros: Good memory, fast with no problems.
Cons: Runs a little warm
Other Thoughts: What is with the price? Why has the price doubled in a few months? This is crazy, it isn't gold. I was going to get another four gigs for my pc but at these prices I would rather not. I think I got it at the beginning of Sept. 2009 for like 70-80 dollars. I wish Corsair could explain this.

best memory ever !!
Pros: not over clocking it so no results there , normal operation is flawless as it has always been. never skimp on memory - junk* mem and mobos will make you loose your mind , WD, samsung hdd, corsair mem, asus and gigabyte mobos and my xfx gtx 260 t`aint bad either !!
Cons: the price went up and i cant install another 4 gigs - yet !
Other Thoughts: the people who had issues , there were two i seen - get a brand you mobo manufacturer recommends. try a different brand FTLOG , maybe its the mobo or an incompatability. and one thing in you defense, sometimes these manufacturers send back refurb junk* i hate that , just because it tested on you test mobo doesnt mean the clients will work , etc

Aweful
Pros: -Was fast when it worked.
Cons: -Stopped working after a few months.
Other Thoughts: This is mainly a complaint to Corsair. I RMAd my original set because it became defective. I received a defective kit and sent that back as well. I just received another kit which also has both stick defective. So 3 out of 3 have been defective. I've had to pay an extra $20 in shipping charges. This is what drives customers away. Sending bad product in exchange for bad product. I work in retail and if I were a customer at my store, I highly doubt I'd be going back to this kind of company,

Corsair, they're not what they used to be
Pros: Looks nice. Thats about it.
Cons: This memory stopped working and caused BSOD's then a constant reboot cycle after memory dumps after only two months. This was at stock timings, stock recommended voltages. Never overclocked. And my case is very well ventilated, so I know it wasn't a heat issue (I have a Lian-Li PC65B with (5) 80mm and (2) 120mm fans...Quad Core processor which runs at mid 30's C at idle). On another but similar note, I also have a 4Gig Corsair USB memory stick that is a little over a year old that suddenly dumped all the info that was on it. I haven't bothered to see if it still works, I am going to RMA both the USB stick and these desktop memory modules.
Other Thoughts: Corsair used to be a great company when it came to memory. My experiences with this company's products over the last year have been horrible. I lost alot of important information I used as an instructor because of the failed memory stick. I am only thankful that the constant reboots due to the bad desktop memory didn't corrupt my O.S. or hurt any other components such as my motherboard or hard drives. I will never purchase another memory product from this manufacturer again, and I cannot recommend to anyone else to do so either.

Wonderful RAM
Pros: Wonderful RAM, dispite what other reviews I read have said all of the RAM was in perfect condition, no errors, every stick out of the 4 I orderd is perfect.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: The price was pretty high but you pay a price for quality and after purchasing the price went up. I would buy it again at the higher price.

Pros: This stuff rocks! FSB at 533 and 5-5-5-15 on M2N78-EM. Got the voltage down to 1.9v. Got the WR setting to minimum 11 - normally autos to 33. BIG difference. Gotta run a Phenom core unganged so internal memory controllers run CPU and GPU independently.
Cons: Required mixing two shipments to get best match.

Errors
Pros: none
Cons: For the high price, this should work. This memory had countless errors in Prime and with Memtest. It wouldn't work in dual channel mode either. I bought a set less than a year ago. It started to have numerous errors. This was a replacement set and it had nurmerous errors "out to of the box". I just returned it.
Other Thoughts: Newegg.com gave me a full refund and even called to see to make sure I was happy. A great company.
Motherboard was a ASUS P5Q that is now working great with Mushkin memory.

Running it @1144mhz for almost a year now!!!!
Pros: -extremely stable @ 1144mhz 5-5-5-15 timings -extreme overclocker -quality heatsinks -lifetime warranty
Cons: -runs warm -memory heatsinks may protrude larger heatsinks (I'm using a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 and I still have room for two more sticks)
Other Thoughts: I bought these sticks last Christmas for my first gaming computer and man these are stable or I'm just lucky. I've ran Crysis, orthos, and prime 95 for hours and my pc just won't crash no matter how much stress I put on it. Corsair is the way to go if you want real quality ram.

should have crossed my toes
Pros: Ok new set has a stick so bad it keeps my computer from booting. At least the first set would work most of the time. So after I ship the first set back, I will then ship the new set back. At this fail rate I will no doubt have to ship at least one of the replacements.
Cons: How many sticks can a ramship ship if a ramship could ship ship. Oh brother, so I,m looking at $20.00 in shipping fees.
Other Thoughts: About the rebate debit card. First always mail it with return reciept request, that way they can,t say they didn,t get it. Then try and find a place that will actually take it.
What,s your time worth this memory is good when it works, but.

round and round we go
Pros: Have had this memory for almost a year. After reading the reviews, good and bad, decided to test it with memtest 2.11. Lo and behold, one of the two sticks came back with errors. Have had sytem lockups mostly in games. thought it was a video card driver issue, now i know where the gremlin lives.
Cons: Bad stick must be purged. Problem is since its a matched pair my pc will be down for at least a week, so like the glass full smuck I am, I have ordered another set. Cross my fingers that it will pass memtest, otherwise I guess its musical rma's with corsair until I get 4 good sticks.
Other Thoughts: Corsair rma is very easy to deal with. They have a fast turn-around time and are quick to issue a rma, almost like this whole ordeal is part of their buisness plan.

Beware of RMA shipments
Pros: works if you get a new pair of modules shipped to you.
Cons: The last order I was shipped from the RMA warehouse and was DOA.

Unreliable - Overheating maybe?
Pros: Pros: None
Cons: Cons: After being used (heavily or otherwise) periods as short as 8 hours the computer would become progressively unstable. Turning the computer off at night usually kept things under control but if I forgot about it it would likely get a random BSOD. On 2 occasions this has forced me to rebuild. I am switching to Kingston.
Other Thoughts: I don't care how fast it is, stability is far more important.

good RAM for my board
Pros: Works at 1066mhz with a motherboard that supports it and is also dual channel. 4GB is plenty of RAM for me.
Cons: None. It's kind of expensive, but worth it the extra 266mhz compared to cheaper 800mhz RAM.
Other Thoughts: I'm using an Asus M3N72-D motherboard. The Corsair Dominator RAM is listed in the manual for RAM that is know to work successfully at 1066MHZ. It works fine for me at 1066mhz. I manually set the RAM frequency in the BIOS setup. I haven't owned this system for that long, but so far it's running stable. For an OS I'm only using Linux (fedora core 11) as of right now. I haven't tested the stability of this RAM in windows yet. I don't anticipate any problems in windows. If you want this RAM to work at 1066mhz, I recommend researching the specs/manual for your board and see if this particular brand is supported.

Not worth the $65 6 months ago and definitely not worth $100+
Pros: Worked at listed specs with little hassle - at first. Newegg was great, as usual.
Cons: Purchased at the end of March. One stick was toast by the end of August.
RMA'd with manufacturer and as RMA's go it wasn't bad. New parts received in about a week and a half from when I shipped the defective stuff.
However, they insisted that return both sticks because I bought them as a set.
Replacement set gave errors on the first two trips through Memtest86+. Two subsequent runs came up clean - not sure if I'm going to use or return again.
Other Thoughts: Making me send back both sticks was really a pain. I don't have extra DDR2 just sitting around so it downed the computer for about 2 weeks.
The failure of the first set hosed my OS. Spent the better part of two days on a very painful repair install.
I respected the Corsair name enough to overlook reports of similar problems already posted here. Never again will I purchase Corsair memory products. I'll definitely think long and hard about any of their other products as well.

Nice and Smooth
Pros: Runs as advertised at 1066 when you set the timings in the Bios which is very easy. Comes with a nice heatsink which keeps it cool
Cons: The price has gone up! I bought mine for 69.99 almost 1 year ago and I got a 20.00 rebate in the mail! Now after rebate its more than $100.00!
Other Thoughts: I bought this memory about 1 year ago to go with an EVGA 750I For the WIN MB. I clocked it at 1066 and have been running it fine (knock on wood) for almost 1 year. At times, just to be sure I ran memtest on it and it passed with flying colors. Good memory. I should have bought another 4 gigs when it was cheaper.

Pros: well it hasnt failed me yet
Cons: in an evga 780i designed to run on 1066 after 5 months of resets I have only been able to achieve 800mhz with 8gig Now with 4 gig I can hold 1067 and run faster with smoother performance overall allowing my allowing my sli to preform max
Other Thoughts: ok wheres the beef? gee fellas sent in the required rebates and met the requirements yet somehow corsair fails to send the mail in rebate must have missed the required self addressed return stamped evelopes wow 6 mons and no response

Don't do it
Pros: Newegg shipping is tops. Had it in three days. Dealing with Newegg's chat support to obtain rebate info and RMA number was pleasant and efficient.
Cons: Ram does not run at listed speeds (1066) not reliable, caused instability in my computer. Corsair has sold out to quantity and has declined in quality.
Other Thoughts: Asus crosshair formula ll, AMD Phenom II X4 9950 2.6GHz Socket AM2+,Tuniq Tower 120 Universal CPU Cooler, Zalman ZM850-hp,COOLER MASTER HAF 932

Excellent Memory. 8GB on 775 beware
Pros: Runs extremely well. I've had this set for 2 years and they have had no issues. Just bought a second set to fill in my other DIMM slots on my 680i for music editing.
Cons: 8GB config on a evga 680i SLI motherboard will not work unless you lessen the frequency to 800Mhz instead of 1066Mhz. This is kind of a bummer, but I should have done more research instead of just assuming. This is a motherboard limitation so I can't blame the memory.
Other Thoughts: As stated above, I had a set of these for a little more than 2 years and they are superb. They've always worked at 1066 5-5-5-15. However, adding another set to my 680i meant I had to tone all 4 sticks down to 800Mhz in order to get them to work.

Pros: Knows as the Best Ram you can get???
Cons: This is twice I have bought Dominator, and twice it has been bad out of the box!!!~ Newegg rocks, and this is by no means there fault. I thought that this was the best ram you could buy, I am off it now~!

Its corsair what else do you need to know?
Pros: It's ram what else is there to say other than it worked out of the box?
Cons: the packaging lists no specs at all!
Other Thoughts: Ok I run a 965 phenom II BE on a asus m3nht mempip delux am2 mother board. Now there have been oh so many reviews out there complaining that if you run your rig with all 4 ram slots occupied that you'll get half your speed, I'm glad to say this wasn't the case with my system! All I did was set my timings and voltage in the bios, told the bios that it was ddr2 1066, saved the settings and booted. I'm happy to report I had not a single issue.

RMA'd Twice!
Pros: none
Cons: 1st pair BSODed just after 3 months.
RMA'd
2nd pair BSODed after about 2 months.
RMA'd
WT eff happened to Corsair Quality? IDK why I even got performance ram I don't even game! Was running this ram at 902 mhz, under the 1066 it's rated for.
Other Thoughts: I'm using cheap Hyinx ram until I can sell this on Craigslist and use the cash to buy another brand of ram. Not sure which kind yet. Maybe Patriot??? Also, my friend had the same series ram (Dominator) and the same thing happened to him (BSOD).

Great
Pros: I regularly test it and it always comes back clean, have not had a BSOD from it like I have with others. I am going to order another set of this so I have a total of 8GB for my 64 bit Windows 7 machine. Came with a great rebate when I ordered it at the beginning of the year.
Cons: Can't complain about it
Other Thoughts: Would definitely get Corsair RAM again.

DOA x2
Pros: looks great, newegg shipped FAST, great timings and speed with no tweaking. mobo automatically detected 8500 speed with 5-5-5-15-2t timings and ran stable (for the 1 stick that worked)
Cons: HORRIBLE quality control of product.
Other Thoughts: ordered 1 set. ran for a bit until BSOD'd me in RAM hungry game. Memtest found 1 stick good, 1 stick bad. sent back to newegg, got a new pair of sticks in 3 days. memtested immediately, 1st stick good, 2nd stick wouldn't post. that's 2 out of the 4 sticks DOA. dominator quality ram? don't think so. refunding and looking for a different stick of ram. didn't want to believe all the bad reviews thinking it wouldn't happen to me, but sure enough it did... TWICE. loved my ddr1 corsair xms 2x2s that still work after 3 years no problems at all, but unfortunately their "higher quality" product is the opposite of what its supposed to be.

Great memory modules
Pros: Fast speed, able to overclock easily up to 1300 on FS board.
Cons: Memory modules are very tall and for some set-ups with low CPU fans, this can be annoying.
Other Thoughts: Great RAM make sure your motherboard is compitable and if so then let it rock outwith some overclocking.

It just works
Pros: My Asus P5E picks up the EPP 5-5-5-15 profile just fine. Rock solid at 1066, as advertised.
Cons: It's not DDR3. It's not the version that comes with the fan.
Other Thoughts: Make sure you're using a 64 bit OS to take full advantage of all four gigs!

Awesome memory
Pros: Hassle-free and works like a charm. This memory flies!
Cons: Motherboards are not magic? This is high-performance DDR2 memory. You need to understand that you must set the memory timings manually. If you just plop this memory into your motherboard and call it a day, you may well indeed have problems (if not right away, then eventually) and assume that you have bad RAM, when in reality your memory is likely perfectly fine. It's apparent that some of the negative comments about this memory are due to simple ignorance (and that is not meant as an insult).
Other Thoughts: This memory is rated to run at 1066 MHz at 5-5-5-15 timings using 2.1 volts. To obtain the rated 1066 speed, you need to change the default motherboard memory speed from 200 Mhz to 266 MHz. Your memory timings are as follows: CAS = 5, tRCD = 5, tRP = 5, and tRAS = 15. Finally, manually set your memory voltage to 2.1 volts. (Some motherboards cannot supply this voltage and may only allow 1.8 to 1.9v. Learn a little about your motherboard *before* you order this or any other high-performance RAM!)

Corsair memory (and PSUs) are the shiznitz!
Pros: Dominator 2x2GB sets have been stock fare in all my XP 32Bit builds... NEVER a problem yet, why mess with a great thing. Corsair usually has rebates, and actually honors them! Grat product and value
Cons: They aint free? nah, gotta keep Corsair in business.
Other Thoughts: Their tech support is great, and the product clocks... though I rarely need to for purrrrfect performance.
ps. I use their PSUs as well, and as passionately.

Junk
Pros: None..... Supposed to be a higher end product but has no quality.
Cons: Does not run at the specified timings or speed.
Other Thoughts: I bought this memory probably 2 months ago. It ran fine for maybe one month. It will not run at the specified speeds and voltage at all. I wouldnt recommend this ram to anyone. There is no product quality here at all....

Good Gaming RAM
Pros: Good gaming RAM, only SLIGHTLY less performance than DDR3 for half the price. Unless you have money to throw away then go with DDR2.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Had to overclock to get 1066 because the default was 800 on my board. No big deal since I was going to do that anyway.

Dissapointed With Newegg
Pros: who knows...
Cons: I was immediately skeptical when I received this kit because the address it shipped from was the "RMA Wharehouse" and the kit itself inside of the sealed padded envelope was NOT sealed. Installed the RAM, went to boot up and bam...BSOD. Removed one stick, ran memtest and it was fine, tested the other stick and got over 8 errors on the first pass...needless to say I'm very dissapointed and would have hoped that i was purchasing a NEW SEALED PRODUCT...not something from RMA Hell.

Works Great
Pros: Very quick and stable RAM. Its a bit of a hassle clocking this ram to the correct speed and voltage but only takes a moment or two to adjust it in the BIOS. Not the RAMS fault though. Looks sleek and there is an identical set to this that comes with attachable fans. That is the version I got and the fans seem to work great and are easy to install.
Cons: none

RAM needs right settings
Pros: Very Stable. Works as promised. Large Heat Sink
Cons: Too Stable. May run mostly fine with wrong settings leading you to think it has a problem later.
Other Thoughts: I thought mine had gone bad. Even bought replacement RAM locally then in setting up the new RAM realized I had been running this RAM at 1066 1.8V for Nearly 2 weeks with no problem!!! Then it acted up and I assumed it had been set right and had failed. Even if your MB reads the 1066 speed you still have to change the voltage to 2.1v!!! Or it may run fine for a while or not work and look DOA.

Get the Voltage Right
Pros: Pretty stable even when voltage setting are wrong
Cons: Reports 1066 in some MBs but that doesn't always trigger a voltage change, you need to know what you are doing. At 1066 it may run at low voltage of V1.8 for a while then become unstable until you set the right voltage for the 1066 speed.
Other Thoughts: I have a new Gigabyte P45 based MB that saw this a 1066 RAM. So I have been running the machine with the default BIOS settings.. I had had limited success with even minor increased past base speed.
This week suddenly I was getting BSOD and the RAM wouldn't pass the extended memory test. So I assumed it was bad. and got something to replace it locally. That was 1066 but MB saw as 800.
This is where the light bulb went on.. DUH.. So I put the Dominator sticks back but set the RAM Voltage to 2.1 per data sheet for the 1066 speed. It has been totally stable even pusing the system 100% Quad core for 10 minutes. Lesson.. if this RAM worked for you for several weeks, but then seemed to die or looks DOA. check your voltage. Maybe you were lucky it was running at all at the previous setting :)

Lasted 5 months
Pros: When I purchased this, it was $65. Aesthetics. Good specifications...It's RAM.
Cons: Lasted 5 months. One stick just started throwing errors. Going to have to RMA.
Other Thoughts: This is a Dominator set of RAM. One would expect this RAM to be of a higher quality than Corsair's other RAM but after reading many reviews on this, I'm disappointed.

Negative Misunderstandings
Pros: Like always Corsair proved it self reliable. I ran into some of the negative experiences that some people reported here but I believe alot of it was a misunderstanding of the Corsair memory. CPU + Memory + MB must be asynchronizable. Thus meaning, just because your CPU supports 1066 memory, your Mobo supports 1066 memory and the selected RAM is 1066 memory does not mean you can run your system @ 1066 stable. You must verify the confirmed clocks for your "Mobo" FROM Corsair whom has supplied a Memory Configurator on their site. It will tell you what clocks, timings, and volts have been tested to work on your Mobo.
Cons: All I can find is other peoples misconceptions and not researching more before they buy something.
Other Thoughts: AMD PII X4 955, Crosshair II Formula, 4GB (2 x 2GB) 8500C5D @ 800Mhz timing 5-5-5-18-2T 1.8v, Ultra 1K watt modulated PS, Thermaltake SwordM Full Tower Case, Pioneer DVD-CD ROM, Pioneer BD-DVD-CD, Asus ENGTX295 SLI.

excellent corsair
Pros: Heat syncs on RAM are not excessively tall. Plugged them in and they work great with my AMD Phoenom II Quad Core and ASRock AOD 790GX mother board. I still have space if I want to add 2 more, but 4GB is fine for my needs right now. Love lifetime warranty's on RAM, I hate it when some companies only give you a few years or less.
Cons: none I can think of
Other Thoughts: Sent in the $20 rebate. I hope it comes soon!

Don't buy it.
Pros: It was not DOA.
Cons: It lasted less than 3 months. The performance was not any better than the bargain memory by Mushkin or Crucial that I have used previously. Both those brands have lasted, this junk did not. Will never purchase corsair again, poor performance and longivity, that is not worth the price.

Beware Poor Reliability
Pros: As usual, Newegg service was fantastic.
The good news is that Corsair seems to stand by its warranty.
Cons: These units have very bad reliability. I have had this memory less than 2 months and it has failed Memtest already. I have not even received my rebate yet.
This is the SECOND TIME this has happened with Corsair Dominator RAM.
I used too think that Corsair memory was a gold standard. Now, I am really beginning to wonder.
Other Thoughts: BEWARE

Good so far
Pros: Heatsinks
Cons: Heat, does not get autodetected by my mobo (ASUS P5Q).
Other Thoughts: Installed two kits (8GB total) on ASUS P5Q.
P5Q will not boot with two kits (8GB) and it defaults it to DDR2 800 instead of 1066.
Install 4GB first, boot to BIOS, change DRAM voltage to 2.1v and set it to 1066MHz. Save settings, turn your computer off and install the second kit.
Ran 13 passes of memtest in 16+ hours - no errors. Gets hot, I have no temp reading but I would estimate it to be around 50-65C (can bare holding my fingers against the heatsinks).

Bad experience.
Pros: None so far.
Cons: This memory simply isn't ant good, times 3.
Other Thoughts: I bought three pairs in June. The first pair was identified as DDR2-800 by MoBo. The second pair stopped working completely after 4 1/2 weeks. The third pair stopped working a few days later. Corsair has not approved the RMA as of yet. I've bought about 150 pairs of DDR2-667 in the last 18 mo.s-all Corsair working flawlessly. But if the RMA is not approved, will be my last Corsair. Plus I don't want to replace bad memory with bad memory if RMA approved.

Decent
Pros: Good solid product. Solid feel and build qaulity. Great performance.
Cons: First two sticks both returned memtest errors. Even when set at 800mhz and 5-5-5-18 on ASUS P5K-VM mobo.
Other Thoughts: Second set of memory no errors with 10 passes in memtest. Happy with the product but I for some reason cannot set the memory to 5-5-5-15 2.1V 1066mhz. Probably the motherboard. Although the asus does say its supports 1066 RAM, appearntly not ALL 1066 RAM. So I have to run it on auto which is 5-5-5-18 800mhz.
Not the fualt of Corsair. But still only getting 4 stars for the first set (both sticks) being bad.

Crash BSOD Fail memtest
Pros: Warranty Service = Excellent.
Cons: After 1 week of usage, one of the sticks was just not stable, and I have to send it back for RMA.
Other Thoughts: With the current price of the dominators right now... I'm thinking a hundred times if I'll purchase again.

Caution
Pros: Fits next to the Tuniq Tower 120.
Cons: Be carefull, I understand there is a rash of bad chips going around. I have had to send this memory back twice now. I don't OC my memory and I run at rated voltage (2.10v). Doesn't happen to everyone of course and I still recommend Corsair. Just make sure you have some extra RAM on hand to keep your system running while you send it back. Also, figure another 10 dollars or so for each time you have to ship it to Corsair ($20 for me so far). It takes about 2 weeks per return. Each time, the set works for about a month and then starts bluescreening and failing memtest rather quickly. Here's hoping the 3rd set works for longer than a month...
Other Thoughts: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P, Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550, Antec EA650 650W. This is my primary work/home machine. Have been building systems for over 15 years. This system idles at about 30C at the CPU.

Just Awesome
Pros: Bought 2 sets (8GB total), had them for quite a while. Soon as I installed them, computer recognized them. Set my O/C, voltage, etc...ran all 4 sticks at 1066mhz with no problem. Ran tests for hours and no problems. As stable as it gets. I have 4 computers at home all with Corsair Dominators. I know people had problems with defective ram, but there are always defective ones out of a few thousand or one's settings are causing it. This has lifetime warranty and I never had problems with Corsair products in the past. I think its easier to O/C with the same versions. I have 4 sticks of the same version.
Cons: Price but IMHO, I think its worth it.
Other Thoughts: My 2x2Gb sets are the 2.1 version. My other sets are 1.1, 1.2 and 6.1

4 sticks 4gigs vs 2 sticks 4gigs
Pros: Two is better than Four. Faster and a little more details in my games. I can run them at 1153Mhz stable with 6-6-6-20 timings. But I'm trying to keep my voltages to the mid to High level. With these Dominators I can slow down my CPU, FSB and RAM. Along with the corresponding volts. And still get better performance than with 4 sticks of Dominators.
Cons: No cons at this point.
Other Thoughts: I've always read that it was easier to overclock 2 sticks than 4 sticks of ram. But did I listen ? ......NO !!!! I could have saved myself some money and time instead of trying to get 4 stick of ram to perform the way I wanted.

Pros: I have had this kit for about 7months now and couldn't be happier. These have been nothing but great for me. I have not had any errors at all. If I was running 64bit OS I would purchase another set. Definitely recommend them.
Cons: None at all
Other Thoughts: This is the first corsair product that I have purchased and will try them again for memory. I have even tried them for a PSU and am happy with the performance so far. Make sure your motherboard supports them before purchasing though as my previous motherboard did not.

Update from Previous review
Pros: Most of the Memory error you guys can avoided by make sure (Three Times) that Memory are properly seated then Timing and Volts setup manualy in the Bios.No Memory in the World work out of the box if you don't setup correctly
Cons: Corsair has outstanding customer support so stop complaining,if you'r Ram is bad after tested each Module in all different Slot with Mem86 2.11 request for RMA... This Memory start giving mr an error with 4-4-4-12-2T timing so roll back to default 5-5-5-15-2T timing..according to Corsair support it does not do Cas 4 well not a big deal in real time performance...
Other Thoughts: And no I don't work for Corsair or Newegg also not to mention Newegg still is the best...

Pros: Compatible, speedy, error-free. The four sticks purchased have passed all benchmarks so far.
Cons: Heat sinks seem sturdy and effective, but may be too tall for some configurations. Overall efficiency of heat dissipation unclear.
Other Thoughts: Holding out the last "egg" for a year's use down the line.

Entire Product Line is Unreliable
Pros: Performance, physical design.
Cons: Bit errors. BSOD 0x50, other blue-screens.
I have concluded that all Corsair memory is junk. This dtermination does not come lightly, but is the result of 5 out of 8 separate purchases being bad out of the box, or going bad in short order.
The latest failure is a critical business machine. Memtest86+ v2.11 was error free for 24 hours during system build. It now has 1.9 million errors in 3 hours run time.
Other Thoughts: I never had memory problems with Crucial memory.
This terrible level of reliability is totally unacceptable. It is devastating to my reputation as a service provider, and irritating to the end user.

EP45-UD3R+1066MHz
Pros: Finally Works at 1066MHz on my EP45-UD3R! Nice Heatsink!
Cons: Took for ever to get these bad boys stable at 1066MHz! Check Other thoughts-->
Corsair's REBATE is taking forever still waiting on my PSU and MEMORY Rebate -_- but o well thats rebate for ya Weird how EVGA rebate took only 1 month. :D
Other Thoughts: The RAM Sticks ran only at 800MHz in slots 1 and 3. But when moved to slots 2 and 4 it finally worked at 1066MHz.
People having trouble with 1066MHz+EP45-UD3R or UD3P try this it worked for me
Go Into BIOS
-"Load Optimized Defaults" -Go Into MB Intelligent Tweaker (M.I.T.)
In M.I.T:
*****DRAM Performance Control****** Performance Enhance..................................Standard Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P).....................Auto (G)MCH Frequency Latch..............................Auto System Memory Multiplier..............(SPD)........3.20B Memory Frequency (MHz)..............1066.........1066 DRAM Timing Selectable................(SPD)........Manual
Timings 5-5-5-15
and set the DRAM Voltage--> 2.10
Save and Exit: Y
and will hopefully POST, BOOT UP and get 1066MHz stable on EP45-UD3R!
Good Luck Everyone!!

Great except Rebate
Pros: Great products, terrific website, never had a problem with Corsair's products, so why....(see cons)?
Cons: I can not understand why a company like Corsair with excellent products and in my opinion, an excellent reputation would engage in this type of rebate (MIR) foolishness. I refer to the fact that their MIR will not send you a check but rather a debit card. As a former banker I know that it is extremely difficult for a consumer to get the entire amount off one of those cards. And unless you enjoy being publicly embarrased, do not use it at a restaurant. Restaurants charges cause your card line to be blocked for an additional 10% with the assumption that you will leave a tip. With a small debit card you will most likely exceed the limit and DECLINE!
Other Thoughts: MIR's are already loaded with unnecessary complications and this use of a debit card is yet another step in that direction. So I remain confused why a reputable company like Corsair would engage in this behavior.

Excellent RAM
Pros: Good Overclocking, high stock speeds, nice heat sink. Nice looking.
Cons: Price is a little high. Heat sink dosen't fit under my Artic Cooler 64, had to move the RAM over a two slots.
Other Thoughts: Got it on sale so I only paid $50 with MIR!

Corsair Dominator
Pros: Runs cool and can be overclocked very nicely.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I wish Windows could read all of it. I have 8GBs and Vista 32 can only use 3.5 of it. It reads it obviuosly, but doesn't use all of it.

Terrible quality
Pros: Decent price.
Cons: Unreliable. My dad and I both built computers at the same time, and each ordered a set of this memory. One stick in each set went bad -- mine after about two weeks, his after about two months. While Corsair agreed to make it right, they didn't seem to be in any particular hurry to do so. Because the memory is a matched pair, both sticks in each set had to be returned. I had no choice but to buy a cheap stick of memory to get me by for the three weeks that Corsair took to replace the memory. So far the replacement memory is doing OK, but it's only been a couple of months.
Other Thoughts: Often manufacturers have provisions to replace failed components right away -- for example, when I had a hard drive fail a while back, Western Digital told me that if I gave them a credit card they'd ship a replacement drive immediately, and would charge my credit card only if I failed to return the bad drive. I really liked that option, and it worked out great. Corsair provided no such option, and didn't seem to understand or care that someone's computer was down while they processed the exchange at a snail's pace. Next time I'll definitely pay attention to a memory manufacturer's replacement procedures before I buy. Things probably would have gone faster if I'd RMA'd to NewEgg, but I didn't want to do that since it wasn't their fault. Dealing with NewEgg was a pleasure, as always.

Not the Best Choice
Pros: Inexpensive, Received rebate as promised
Cons: Poor choice for my System
Other Thoughts: System: Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-UD5P, AMD Phenom II 720 Black Edition. Bought 6 months ago for another system and could only run it at 800 MHZ. But that was fine for that system. Then migrated to the Phenom II system above. Would not run at stock setting of 1066 MHZ, 2.1 volts, 5-5-5-18, under any cicumstances. Memtest86+ confirmed that I had a bad module. RMA'd to Corsair. 2 week turnaround time and I had a new set. This set ver. 2.2(old set ver 2.1) again refuses to run at advertised settings in the Phenom II setup above. Overclocking is a nightmare with these modules. Will not run over 1066 MHz at all. Will only run at 5-7-7-24 at 2.1 volts. I spent 2 weeks testing with Prime95 and at 1066 MHz stability is not consistent. Replaced the Corsair's with another brand and had excellent results. If your gonna run at 800MHz with a little overclocking then these Corsairs are just ok. At 1066 MHz there is no reliability. I will put them back in the old system. Should have gone with AM3 & DDR3

Pros: Solid memory, hasn't given me any problem.
Cons: Corsair welched on my rebate, effectively making this twice as expensive as the competition... While keeping my UPC code so I can't make a return should I need to. Nice- next time I'm going to go with G-Skill.
Other Thoughts: Modded down from 4 stars to three because of the manufacturers cheap tactics.

Pros: Reliable memory.
Cons: The memory settings will have to be adjusted on your motherboard to get it to run at the listed specs. Do not base this purchase on the mail in rebates. You can do everything perfectly and still get your rebate disqualified. So far two differing rebates were eligible for the first two months, and then suddenly ineligible. Corsairs rebates are pretty much worthless! May want to consider another memory manufacturer, once you consider price without the mail in rebate.

very stable on several MHz ranges
Pros: Nice large Heatsink, will keep the chips cool if you have decent air flow inside your case, i bumped it up to +-1100 MHz and ran the system overnight at 100%, stable, the CL2 and timings of 5-5-5-15 really show nice performance increase over some other brands i tested, the warranty and the Corsair name along with NewEgg reliability makes the best choice for DDR2 and DDR3 RAM purchases!
Cons: zero
Other Thoughts: I did do corporate purchases at newegg.com - 99.5% met my expectations, after years I opened a personal account, hope I will stay as satisfied as I am right now. Thanks!

RMA'd kit # 2 bad as well
Pros: Good price / performance ratio.
Cons: One stick in my first kit failed after about a month. RMA'd it and got a second kit shipped back. It took about 1.5 weeks. One stick was dead in the new kit right out of the box. So I just shipped the second kit back. Three strike and Corsair is out. I'm not going through this every month so I guess I will have to buy from somebody else in the future.
Other Thoughts: Corsair is really one of the last companies I would expect this from. I wish if there was a known problem with the memory or the use of this memory with my motherboard processor combination that they would at least say so.

Another dead one after RMA
Pros: None at this point. After my last review on 5/7/09, I finally received a new set from RMA. Once again, only 50% works.
Cons: One stick is dead again. So in total of 4, only 2 worked. In the first set, my computer would not even POST. This time, it has gotten a little better. Window Vista booted up and would freeze every single time. And if you're curious, I've tried every memory slot; ganged or unganged; running at slower speed; timing on automatic etc......
Other Thoughts: I don't want to waste anymore time with the RMA process and another 8 bucks for shipping so I'll just suck it up and just keep the good one. Never again will I use Corsair memory.

corsair fantastic, as usual!
Pros: Extremely stable at rated speed (1066fsb). I'm running 4x2GB modules and they run flawlessly at 1066 speed without a hiccup!
Cons: No overclocking cooling fan included!
Other Thoughts: I've been using Corsair since I built my first computer. Corsair is just as rock solid as they've ever been. If you want performance, there's no better company. I don't know anything about their tech support though, because I've never had to use it!

good ram
Pros: Speed, heat sinks, sleek design and that it works.
Manually changed in BIOS to specified settings, running as advertised.
On GA-P35-DS3L with e8400 @4.0GHz on Zalman 9700NT. Mem Multi 2.40 slighty overclocked to 1068 (vice 1066). No issues yet, 3 days running/testing, prime 95/orthos tested for 2 hours on Small FFTs and Blend. System Temps are fine. Will memtest next.
Cons: None yet, I'll update if changes.
*I've never had bad corsair products. 3rd time ordering RAM and have corsair PSU as well, no issues.
Other Thoughts: Don't forget the rebate.

Awesome Powerful Memory!
Pros: Awesome memory, very fast and very reliable. I have been a fan of Corsair for many years!
Windows 7 rates this a 7.1 out of a possible 7.9.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: A bit more money than other brands but thankfully the rebate makes up for it. Hopefully Corsair sticks to their rebates ;)

Pros: They were cheaper when I bought them, they work, SuperDuper Fast! well... kinda fast
Cons: They are black.......FYI for you purple people haters
Other Thoughts: IMPORTANT...something I didnt think of: if you have an Nvidia motherboard and use Ntune software(automatically load a config profile on OS boot) and were using slower/different ram before upgrading to this speed, Beware of the profile loading your previous speeds and forcing restart/shutdown of the system shortly after every boot. I thought I had bad sticks because even after figuring this out I uninstalled the software only to have the problem again. I ended up reloading the operating system with proper BIOS config and fresh install of Ntune and now everything is FANTASTIC!!!

1 stick dead after 35 days
Pros: Good price.
Cons: One stick died after about 35 days. I'm in the middle of the RMA process now. It took Corsair three business days to issue an RMA number. Corsair just received them and sent me a message stating the return shipment may be delayed another week due to high demand. I went out and bought a 1 gig stick of generic RAM so I can use my computer in the mean time. I really hope the new memory they send lasts long term. I don't want to go through this again.
Other Thoughts: I never expected parts from Corsair to die this quickly. I had to manually set the speed in the BIOS to get to 1066. This is not a big deal but I could not get stable at that speed with the timings Corsair says it should run at. This may be my mother board or the Phenom II 940 but I guess I'll never know without buing another brand of memory. We shall see after I get the replacements from Corsair.
