Easy as pie!
Pros: Easy as can be to install. Bios immediately recognized.
Cons: No cons at all.
Other Thoughts: Bought this to upgrade an older Dell laptop and boy did it make a difference. Should have bought this long ago. Received it very quickly from Newegg. Very pleased!

works w/ NetGear Ready Nas Duo
Pros: Used this to max out a Netgear ReadyNAS Duo device. The device has been stable with this memory.
Cons: Is the hassle of the rebate worth your time?
Other Thoughts: The ReadyNAS' memory bus runs at 333 Mhz, but it would probably take DDR 400 memory. However all the DDR 400 memory seems to be CAS 3, whereas this is CAS 2.

Buy Corsair
Pros: I'm running three computers with Corsair RAM, and so is a friend with two others; neither of us have ever had a problem.
Cons: I have seen owners of other brands ending up with dead sticks from time to time, but have never experienced a dead stick with corsair.
Other Thoughts: You may have trouble fitting larger stick models in with a large heatsink on desktops.. aside from that no issues.

Problem-free Upgrade
Pros: Bought this for a 5-yr old Dell Inspiron 8600 to replace one of the original 256 MB mods. No problems at all with the install (never did this before), and the new memory was recognized immediately when I booted up. System properties now show 1.25 GB of Ram, which doesn't sound like a lot, but after working with only 500 MB I have a usable computer again. Programs open up much faster, and I can run multiple apps with browser windows open as well. Shipping was fast (and cheap), and I may even go ahead and replace the other module. I was a little apprehensive about possible problems with "Value" ram, but memory for older laptops seems to be a lot more expensive than for newer ones, and Corsair seems to have a good rep for quality. Newegg's price was the best I found, and the rebate made it a good deal.
Cons: None at all. It comes in clamshell packaging, but it comes apart so you don't need a chainsaw to get it open :)
Other Thoughts: It was definitely a worthwhile purchase to extend the life of an older laptop. I wish I had done it sooner (and the rebate was higher last month too).

Its old, it works
Pros: it was fairly cheap when i bought it, probably cheaper now
Cons: as with most older RAM, its not as sporty or as fast as newer more modern RAM.... it is called value select for a reason though
Other Thoughts: I put this in an old Compaq Presario to make it feel less sluggish for its out of dateness

Works great at a good price
Pros: Lowest priced memory at the time of purchase (with rebate); Easy to install; Immediately recognized by the system; Really improved laptop perfomance
Cons: Waiting two months for a $20 rebate.
Other Thoughts: Newegg shipped in less than 24 hours after I placed the order. I replaced one of the two 256MB memory modules in a Compaq Presario model V5201US laptop (HP 30AE mainboard, mobile AMD Sempron (tm) 3300 processor; W-XP Home edition) with with this 1GB module. Installed in in less than 5 minutes. No conflicts or problems encountered running this memory in tandem with the 256MB OEM memory module. I can't believe I waited this long to implement this low cost, dramatic improvement in performance.

Best bang for the buck...
Pros: Best bang for the buck to upgrade an older Gateway GZ6520 laptop running WinXP. Apps were taking a very long time to load, computer was taking a long time to boot and recover from suspend/hibernation, and after countless defragments, disk cleanups, etc, got very good performance which took just over 5 minutes to install.
Cons: None so far, might be a long wait for the rebate listed.

Dell Inspiron 1000
Pros: Installed with no problem in Dell Inspiron 1000. The system now reads 1.2 gig of ram. I'm running BIOS A08 and all is great. Newegg is the best. Great price on fine memory.
Cons: The rebate takes a little time, but it is worth the savings.

Corsair RAM
Pros: I recently used this RAM in the hopes of beefing up an OLD laptop. This upgrade improved my Memory from 256 MB to 1.128 MB. Before the upgrade running multiple programs was nearly impossible without significant problems. This new RAM has has totally revitalized my laptop! DEFINITELY worth investing 30 or 40 bucks on this RAM to increase the effectiveness of a laptop! GREAT BUY
Cons: Failed to order this product earlier. The ONLY REAL CON is waiting on the rebate I received...... but I'd be willing to pay more for this excellent product.
Other Thoughts: If your contemplating.......just do it, ORDER THE RAM!

Yeay RAM!!!
Pros: It's RAM! What do you want? It either works or it doesn't. And this works! And it's Corsair and they stand behind their products. Had 756mb is my Dell D400, this brought me up to 1.5gb. Running several VirtualBoxes in Ubuntu now. Since we're not overclocking, heat isn't really an issue.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Packaging could have been prettier. But now I'm just being picky.

Perfect
Pros: Worked right out of the package and breathed new life into my wife's old and sluggish Gateway 4540gz laptop.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: CORSAIR has been my memory brand of choice for years and has yet to disappoint, and neither has NewEgg for that matter.

rebate raw deal
Pros: memory is good plug and play and worked no problem I like the memory not corsair I loaded my PC with RAM good thing I will no longer have to buy off them again
Cons: called customer service at Corsair bought 2 1Gig sticks you would think the rebate would apply to both sticks NO! ripoff they said the rebate was only good for one stick, they said it would be good if I bought 2 different types of products, not 2 of the same the same product. Customer service rep actually laughed about it. this stinks. Don't trust the rebates

Exactly as advertised
Pros: Best value after rebate for a brand new 1GB DDR1 stick when compared to 3bay, except this is backed by newegg in case something goes wrong. That alone makes this a no brainer!
Cons: Wish I didn't have to rebate to get this price, but Corsair's rebate process is better than most.
Other Thoughts: Works perfectly in my early 2004 G4 iBook running OS 10.4. Now my maxed out iBook can switch apps with barely a pause.

With Rebates - Great Memory
Pros: I purchased this memory to spruce up my 5 year old laptop. Bought 2 DIMMs boosting me from 512 MB to 2 GB. I can finally do my Virtual PC work. Anyways great memory with the rebate price. Installed it and the system recognized it right away. I have had not problems since.
Cons: Wish the price was $ 20 without rebates. Upfront costs were a little high and I had to pay shipping.
Other Thoughts: Again good memory for price with rebates

WOW!
Pros: I bought this and installed it in the wife's laptop. I am her hero now! The machine recognized it right away. I ran mem test and everything was very stable.
Cons: If it was not for the rebate I probably would not have bought the corsair.
Other Thoughts: Went from512MB to 1.25GB, now wife thinks she has a new lap top. Way cheaper than the other option, great way to add new life to an old machine. I may get her another 1GB for Valentines day.

More memory means better performance...
Pros: Bought 2. No issues installing in my HP DV5000 series laptop, which only had 1gb for a few years. Would've done this earlier, but didn't want to risk voiding the extended HP warranty. Much better now. Less time for XP and other software to load, less swap file usage, etc. Just as expected.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Don't need to ponder over getting a new laptop quite yet. That's a good thing with the economy the way it is right now.

Pros: Very good memory for the price.
Cons: None

Nice
Pros: These are as good as it gets Im afraid. Not bad though. It will increase your old laptops multi-tasking abilitys. I have used these little guys for over a year. No problems what so ever. I went from 512mb to 2GB... If you don't know what RAM to get, THIS IS IT! This RAM is fast, stable and long lasting... Solid deal.
Cons: I didn't buy from Newegg. I paid a lot more for the same RAM at a local shop... Bad choice. But I have since learned.
Other Thoughts: Older laptops might have to update their BIOS to get the most out of this RAM. Some older laptops will not register over 1GB until you flash your BIOS. Most of the time this is a very easy thing to do to increase your performance.

I Love old people
Pros: Works great, my mom thinks her laptop is lightning fast. She went from running it on 256MB RAM to 1.5 GB (I had an old 512MB lying around I donated to the cause) and it works just fine. I popped it right in with no problems.
Cons: I didn't buy it earlier and my mom was trying to run on 256MB?

Pros: Works great, computer recognized change in memory on first start up, no problems yet.

Good Ram
Pros: Good ram for the price. Updated my aging T-40 with an obvious performance increase. Corsair is always a good choice.
Cons: Not so much of a con, but I wish IBM had correctly packaged the ram in my T-40 or I would have ordered 2 sticks instead of one. Now I have 1.25 gigs, should have checked my laptop first instead of the installed specs.

Works Great
Pros: - Corsair Brand Name - Lifetime Warranty - DDR 333 Speed - Works fine in a 4-year old Dell Latitude D505 notebook
Cons: - Prices for DDR2 RAM are lower per gigabyte. (Original DDR RAM is getting older)

Improvement
Pros: Corsair name brand, 1GB, cheap, installed easily, recognized promptly, improved performance of machine after installing.
Cons: Would have preferred XMS, having to deal with a rebate from the location I bought it. Nothing beyond that so far, working decently well (still not enough to give it a perfect score though).
Other Thoughts: Used it to replace a 256MB memory stick in my 5 year old Dell Inspiron 300m. Works like a dream. This one does not always come up on compatibility searches, but the specs 100% match what Dell sells for an upgrade to the 300m's memory.
(NOTE: if you have the 300m it only has one user accessible slot and it can only accept up to a max of 1GB. There are details in the 300m's manual about this)
Was an easy install and I am seeing noticeable improvement. It's still not perfect, but I would have to be replacing my processor for that as well.

Perfect
Pros: Pop it in and it's ready to go. Improvement in speed and I'm now able to open Photoshop and Dreamweaver and move back and forth between them seemlessly.
Cons: Because I've never done it before, it took me a few tries to get it in all the way. My brother instructed me to put it in diagnally, then push down to lock it in. Went straight in the first time after he told me how.
Other Thoughts: Put into a Gateway 7320GZ Total RAM now 1.5G

Pros: cheap after rebate. regular clamshell case instead of impossible-to-open blister pack (saves a potential ER visit). Newegg RMA process fast and painless.
Cons: Caused XP to lock up randomly and occasionally BSOD. Uninstalled memory and problems went away.
Other Thoughts: memory installed on IBM T42 (1.5 GB total). There was definitely a noticeable performance improvement at first, but it wasn't stable.
Manufacturer Response:Mixing different brands of memory is not recommended and especially so when you mix different densities. This can cause the instabilities you are seeing. If you need further assistance please contact Tech Support or use our RAM GUY forums. TS: 888-222-4346

Failed After 25 minutes of Operation
Pros: Newegg's exceptionally fast and responsive service. I was very pleased.
Cons: I was very disappointed. There were some negative reviews when I was researching the product but thought they might just be one off situations. I wanted to boost my laptop from 1 to 2Gig. I received the memory, installed it and was impressed with how much faster my laptop was operating. In about 25 minutes of operation, the laptop made a motor boat sound and stopped. I rebooted and as soon as the operating system lit up, the machine froze. I shut off the machine, removed the memory and rebooted with no problem. I shut off the machine, put the memory back in, it rebooted and froze. I returned this to Newegg and purchased PNY memory and it's been great.
Other Thoughts: I've purchased a number of products from Newegg and they always worked so I never had the opportunity to use their return process. They were courteous and fast. I was very impressed. In these days of poor service, it's a pleasure doing business with a company like Newegg.
Manufacturer Response:We are very sorry you had this module fail. It seems that Newegg has solved the issue with an exchange. If we can be of further assistance, please contact Customer Service. CS: 888-222-4346

Good RAM
Pros: Really sped my 3 year old laptop up. Came standard with 512 mb and I was constantly cursing at it for how slow it was. Can't say I don't get frustrated with it sometimes now, but the difference was huge...it rarely slows to a crawl now.
Cons: Price...I wish it was as cheap as DDR2 RAM. Other than that nothing, this RAM has been great.
Other Thoughts: Simple to install, even for beginners. Just plug it in while the computer is off and go.

After 15 months it quit
Pros: Larger then memory that came with my system and cheap
Cons: Quit after 15 months of use. Every 2-3 cold starts system wouldn't boot, just BEEP BEEP BEEP. It was like this since day one after installing this memory, was fine before. Turning off and restarting it would work fine so I didn't pay it any mind. Now it's dead after more then a year.
Other Thoughts: Just sent an RMA request to Corsair, hopefully they will replace it but I can't wait that long. Buying a new (other brand) stick now. Averatc 3250HD Laptop, only one slot for memory, came with 512mb.

Great for Power Book G4
Pros: Compatible with the 15" power book G4 we installed it in. Ran several passes with Memtest for power PC and had no errors. The memory has been in use on a stable machine for over 2 months. This is great memory and you can depend on New Egg to support it's products if something should go wrong.
Cons: Maybe price, but compared to the price of most memory compatible with an apple computer this is a great deal.
Other Thoughts: Some of the G4 power books have a defect in which one the dimm slot closest to the mother board will eventually cease to function meaning you can only achieve 50% of the maximum RAM capacity. The defective dimm slot is not the fault of the ram, but actually due to a defect in the design of the laptop. It's worth checking for this before you upgrade the ram.

Excellent RAM, Slow Shipping
Pros: I have never regretted buying Corsair RAM. As expected, this RAM has performed flawlessly.
Cons: Shipping took 6 days from the time UPS picked up the package! I miss the days of FedEx being the cheapest option. I used to get my items in 2 days.
Other Thoughts: Perhaps consider buying somewhere else if you are in a hurry.

Pros: Its cheap and has a lifetime warranty. It works well for any laptop that accepts DDR PC2700 SODIMM RAM. It does run slightly cooler than its Kingston counterpart.

Nothing but pain
Pros: Corsair was quite helpful despite this trouble. I looked up compatibility with motherboard and such. Anyway, will probably give benefit of the doubt and use them again for my desktop computer I plan on building.
Cons: I was told that Corsair makes a great ram. However, it was proven otherwise. First time it came Dead, I had to RMA, and got my second one. This time, it seemed to work just fine until slowly yet surely my computer started giving me problem. I thought it was the hard drive, since it was all related to the drive. Then I ran Memtest, and it gave me ton of errors. I took out the ram. Everything works just fine now. Maybe they gave me another defective piece, maybe not.
Other Thoughts: Like I said, it's probably just a defective, or maybe compatibility issues.
Manufacturer Response:Could you please let RAM GUY know in our Laptop forum what system you had issues with? We'd like to look into it.

Pros: Was a decent price 69.00 compared to other laptop memory that will fit my toshiba.
Cons: none yet.
Other Thoughts: This maxed out the memory that my toshiba had to use. Corsair is a name brand Mfgr; with a good rep in the industry. Shipping was normal, it did take a day extra to get the order filled to go out from newegg, to UPS.

Amazing Laptop Ram
Pros: Works perfect in my Ibook G4, also compatible with pc laptops. Compatible with all mac operating systems. Really speeds up browsing. Awesome for the price.
Cons: I don't have another laptop to put more of this memory in.
Other Thoughts: One of the best memory sticks I've ever bought. This is a great buy especially for macs.

It *was* good ram
Pros: Cheap, relatively fast for what you pay. I'd usually say a obvious pro would be that its corsair however....
Cons: it quit working after approx 1 year. For no reason at all XP crashed on my laptop while sitting idle. I thought my hard drive had crashed till I ran MemTest on it and found out the corsair had failed.
Other Thoughts: I was pleased but I'm sad now, and out the money. This is the first time corsair has failed me, but then again I went cheap with the value select so its probably my own fault.

Works for Me
Pros: I bought this memory module at my work the other day. Installed it in my iBook G4 1.07ghz. The performance difference is very noticeable, almost like it's a completely new computer; I knew OSX benefitted greatly from more RAM, but I had no clue it would be this apparent.
Cons: None. Ran memtest for a few hours, no errors. No crashes so far. Seems to be working just fine and appears to be completely compatible with my iBook.
Other Thoughts: I was worried that maxing-out the ram in this computer to 1.256gb (1gb corsair stick + 256mb soldered to the motherboard) would have little to no impact since the processor is slow; I figured that the CPU bottleneck would negate the potential benefits of the RAM. I was completely wrong about that assumption. If you have an aging iBook G4 you want to breathe extra life into, I highly suggest this memory module.
(note: running OS X v10.4.11)

Warranty Service is Lacking
Pros: Good memory while it works.
Cons: Warranty service is horrible: it's been 2 months since i sent my chip in for replacement, and the only progress so far is that they've sent back the *wrong* replacement stick.
Other Thoughts: I bought name-brand memory to get a good warranty. To me that's a big part of the product value. Sadly, I'm very disappointed in Corsair's return process.
Manufacturer Response:cainlevy, we are VERY sorry you had this issue and that your RMA has not gone well. Please contact us and we will resolve your issue ASAP. Phone: 888-222-4346

Pros: The ram is fantastic. I've been reading about how amazing corsair are and everything said is true. Stable, fast compatible. Not a single issue. It's so good I just got another 2 gigs for my other laptop.

Performance boost for Gateway 4540 GZ
Pros: I purchased a GIGARAM 1GB SO-DIMM from Newegg in Mar 06, it went bad in Aug 06. Newegg was great and replaced it with this CORSAIR 1GB SO-DIMM. I now have 1.21GB reported memory in my Gateway 4540GZ notebook and it is noticeably faster, it boots up about 1/3 faster, and is noticeably faster starting up applications like Picasa and FireFox. If memory prices drop a bit I will purchase another 1GB and MAX the 4540 GZ laptop out at 2GB.
Cons: Hibernation takes longer now that it has more memory to save and restore, otherwise no downside so far.
Other Thoughts: Hint: When traveling, keep the original 2nd SO-DIMM in your laptop bag in case your new 1GB goes bad. My Gateway ran very slowly when I had to remove the bad Gigaram 1GB stick and only had the original 256MB left.

This memory is a dud!!
Pros: Ran great for about 3 months.
Cons: First module started failing. App errors then started to occur and BSOD. MemTest apps shows failure. About a month later other module failed. Problem appears to be heat related. As laptop hit about 60-65 degree C then it crashed.

Pros: pretty stable with my toshiba satellite. notice a significant increase in performance after installing the corsair memory.
Cons: little bit tricky getting this ram module to fit wihi the laptop. otherwise no problems so far. i've only had the memory for a little over a month. lets see how things are going a year from now.

Excellent
Pros: Fast, cheap, reliable.
Cons: Has the "ValueRAM" sticker.
Other Thoughts: Don't let the ValueRAM sticker fool you, all the Corsair notebook RAM have that motto. Also if you buy this RAM and you complain its too wide or doesn't fit, well make sure your computer supports DDR2 533 MHz (PC5300). Also be aware that not laptops support this capacity of memory, so if you get BSOD or crashes, sometimes its because your system does not support the memory.
As for me, I've used this brand and type of RAM for several laptops and never had a single problem. If you think expensive RAM makes it better, yes its true in DESKTOPs, but in laptop its all the same, but if a OEM can manufacture premium, high quality RAM, then expect their value RAM to have the same quality.

Not worth your money...
Pros: Um, it worked wonderfully...for about two weeks. Easy install.
Cons: After two weeks, it gave me the blue screen of death on my Dell 8600 Inspiron laptop. After running a diagnostic, I found out the memory was causing the crash. giving it a chance at first, I though it might be the memory slot itself, so I switched things up. Nope, in the other slot it was only reading about 544 megs of the 1 gig chip and that was temporary until the blue screen appeared again. Pulled the chip and computer was fine.
Other Thoughts: Purchased a Kxxxton 512 cip after this one and it works like a dream. I'll never try and cut a corner on memory again.

Not too happy.
Pros: I still have great respect for Corsair memory but the laptop memory I received fell of the bandwagon.
Cons: Corsair is a solid company to buy from but beware of the cheap memory.
Other Thoughts: In all honesty this could have been the "1" memory module that didn't perform like the rest. All of my previous purchases have been awesome!

Cons: Not stable. i received a blue screen of death (BSOD) immediately after installing it in my brand new Acer laptop. I put the original memory in it and wala it works again.

A little disappointed.
Pros: None. I totally respect Corsair for their XMS and other fine memory products but this has to be the worst memory product I have bought in a while.
Cons: This memory did not work with my new Acer Turion 64bit laptop. Cheap memory is just that- CHEAP. Always stick with the better product if you expect better performance.
Other Thoughts: Right after install received BSOD memory errors and continuous restarting. Reinstalled original memory and laptop works fine. RMA'ing for top-shelf memory instead.

First one bad
Pros: price is nice.
Cons: I also installed this new DIMM and had the laptop fail to POST. Just sent it back as an RMA. The RMA process seems pretty easy, although I am concerned that I will have lost my 30 day guarantee by the time the new replacement shows up.

First one bad as well
Pros: Price, Corsair brand name
Cons: System saw new stick *once*, crashed while booting Windows, and then wouldn't POST after rebooting.
Tried it in another system & it wouldn't POST either.
Other Thoughts: Still awaiting replacement...

Great upgrade for HP zv6130us
Pros: Price, Brand Name
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Works well in HP zv6130us. Incresed memory from 512 MB to 1280MB. Laptop performs much better, Windows definitely likes the additional memory. Replaced external memory module, took 5 minutes. Rebooted immediatly. No problems after approximately 1 week.

Speeds up my Toshiba A35 3X
Pros: Added to my Toshiba A35-S159 and it speeded up at least 3X maybe more.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: I had two original 256MB sticks of Samsung DDR PC2700 M470L3224DT0-CB3 in my Toshiba laptop and replaced one of them with this 1GB Corsair for a total of 1.25GB.
