Pros: My bros computer (Inspiron XPS) needed a boost because it was bottlenecked for gaming. This did the trick very well.

Cons: It did not jump out of the package and install itself.

Other Thoughts: Pretty much plug and play. Get this ram if you older system has 512mb.

Rating + 5 Needs huge Upgrade Memory


Pros: Switched from original 2 256mb DELL sticks to 2 1GB sticks help a lot of programs, applications & music make more faster. We are so happy to keep it from buying new ones. But this motherboard BIOS limited up to 2GB, that's it..

Cons: Expensive RAM stick than DDR2 RAM for double prices, but worth it.

Other Thoughts: Playing games on DELL Inspirion 9100 laptop very well, We are happy now.. Love it.

Rating + 5 My Satellite's last bit of life...


Pros: + It holds my data while I'm working.
+ It holds my data while my laptop is sleeping.
+ Affordable for RAM that is rare and out of style (production?) at this point.

Cons: - I didn't buy it a year ago when it was no doubt cheaper.

Other Thoughts: Works great in my Toshiba Satellite M55 series laptop. Bought it on the hope that I could go up from PC2700 to PC3200 speeds, in addition to going from 2x512MB to 2x1GB, which is the maximum capacity for this series of laptop. Unfortunately, the system bus only supports speeds of up to DDR333 (PC2700), which I should have counted on to begin with (though I could not find anything in the manufacturer's specs). Oh, well, one of the benefits of being in IT is being able to scavenge for things like old/damaged laptops and then being able to cobble a better one together in order to avoid the upgrade monkey.

If you're like me and you can't quite justify buying a new laptop or netbook yet, now is pretty much your last chance to max out your laptop's memory before places like Newegg no longer carry any DDR1 products. If you only check your e-mail and listen to music on your laptop, you may only need to run 1GB, although if you can, I would suggest getting the max.

Rating + 1 Buyer Beware!!


Pros: Chips are good as long as they work.

Cons: I purchased 2 of these chips in February. In late March one of them went bad, which is not a huge issue. The chips come with a lifetime warranty.

The huge issue is that when I RMA'd the bad chip to Corsair (RMA #1099812) they refused to honor the warranty. I contacted customer support 8 times, each time I was told that a supervisor that could approve the RMA was not available and that they would call me back. I never received a return phone call and finally gave up.

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for memory. When it comes down to it you can find the same product elsewhere and if it goes bad you won't have to worry about being stiffed on the warranty.

Pros: Plug and play in my Toshiba, easy rebate, no glitches, hitches, or other issues on first start-up. I run matched corsair sticks in my desktop and have been very happy with them. Using Corsair upgrade RAM for my laptop was a no-brainer. Great company, great product. Thank you!

Cons: VALUEselect?...come on guys. With a name like that I felt like I was purchasing a white-box-black-lettered hometown grocery store product. It is a value, true, but the name doesn't inspire faith in the product. You could name the whole line something like Dyno-RAM (since this RAM works in computers made during the Cretaceous period).
Dino-Ram sounds like something I would put in my cpu, Value-Select sounds like something I would find in my Grandma's cupboard...think about it. Still, the product speaks for itself. If I ever end up in the grocery store and see that Corsair is making foodstuffs in white boxes with black lettering, I will buy that, too.

Pros: just put it in a few hours ago and one minute upon installation i was up and running, turning my old tablet pc i use for work, from a mule to a stallion. went from 512mb to 2gigs and can now work without any freezing or lockups it also increased picture quality. no complaints about the product.

Other Thoughts: would not recommend standard shipping pay the extra if you have to. although i have to say the tracking set up newegg gives is very nice. ordered on tues. received on not the following thur. but the thur. after. my package sat in tampa from the second to the 4th way to go usps i could have walked it home quicker.

Booted up and was recognized on first try. Eased some of my frustration using laptop after being used to my much faster desktop. Newegg.com rocks. Have previous good experience with Corsair. Good product and support. However, rebate did take quite a while last time I used them. Now rebate is loaded Citicard. Will Citi still be in business by the time I get the card?

Pros: Revived for a while (at least long enough to back up) a dying Gateway M675. I had two 512 sticks go bad, tried this RAM and fixed my problem- at least temporarily.

Cons: Kind of expensive, regular DDR (especially SODIMM) isn't so common anymore.

Other Thoughts: I had this RAM in my laptop for about 2 months and then the battery stopped charging. I can't blame the RAM of course, but it was frustrating, at least I had access to my files so I could do a proper backup and finish out a few last freelance projects.
I would have bought two if it had been little more cost-effective, P4's w/HT tend to perform better with matched pairs. In retrospect, I'm glad I only bought one since the machine stopped working.

Rating + 5 Egg-cellent Memory for a Great Value


Pros: I put two of these in my old inspiron, what a difference! Cut my start up time in half and eliminated most of my loading time. Along with a BIOS update these gave my old college laptop new life. I'm getting two more for my grandmother.

Cons: Rebate takes a long time. You'll forget all about it and then months later you'll find a little present in the mail:)

Pros: cheaper that what Dell was trying to sell me for my Inspiron 9100, and it did work but ...

Cons: computer only recognized one stick with both installed.

Other Thoughts: I tested out both independently both worked and then called Dell support they seem to think there is a compatibility issue with a Inspiron 9100 but others reviews stated they had no issues. One stick is working great still double what I had, but for newer software I still want the 2GB :P

Wonder if NewEgg ever gets tired of all the bragging on here? :-) I took my two sticks of 256mb ram out of my Inspiron 9100 and replaced with 2 sticks of 1G ram and it made a world of difference. I use this computer for recording, video editing, graphic design, web design... you name it. I really test the computer's memory to the fullest when I use it! This memory couldn't have been easier to install. I snapped it in and booted it up. Perfect on the first try... no problems whatsoever! I was a little hesitant to by this brand, but it had great reviews so I thought I'd try it due to the lower price. I'm VERY pleased with it! Go for it... save the money and the trouble... by THIS memory from THIS website!

Pros: perfect match for a original stick that went bad from Alienware (After a fall in it's bag damaged the way the orginal was seated). In fact, CPUZ tested it to be superior to the original ! Thanks NewEgg !!!!

Pros: When working, it was a great improvement having 2 1GB sticks over the 2x256MB sticks my laptop came with.

Cons: After ordering 2, 1 of the sticks arrived bad, would not work in either laptop I owned and the other would not function with the 256MB stick that was originally in. Also, the "good" stick occasionally gives me the Blue Screen with a Physical Memory Dump making me wonder how long the RAM will last and if I should return it now.

Other Thoughts: Buying a brand like Corsair has normally guaranteed quality but with this purchase I am having doubts.

Pros: I loved them while they were working

Cons: I bought 2, and they worked fine for about 2 weeks until tonight. My laptop kept blue screening after the first loading screen. I switched them both out with my old memory and voila - bye bye blue screen. I know now at least one of them is faulty. I'll be sending it in for a replacement when I do more test runs to see which one it is.

Other Thoughts: And I was told Corsair was one of the better brands to buy... =|

Pros: Price

Cons: Not reliable. I installed 2 sticks of this in my HP notebook. One was defective, didn't work in either slot. The other seemed fined, so I kept the good one, sent the bad one in for replacement. 4 days later, the good one died, while the RAM I was intending to replace still works like a champion.

Pros: It's Corsair, need I say more? My XG4000 Cyberpower laptop came with 2 512 sticks of this stuff so I upgraded to 2 1GB sticks.

Cons: After about 7 months I had one go DOA--I got six memory errors while I was working and I went to reboot, only my laptop would not POST at all--I didn't get a blue screen or anything. My laptop was rendered useless until I started taking one unit out at a time to see which one was the bad one. I have RMA'd this one to Corsair directly.

Other Thoughts: I personally have not seen a huge difference--then again I run Norton 2007 and I have the slower 5400 RPM drive--I still think my laptop could be faster but I think the big issue is this module was probably bad from the get go and it took this long to finally fail altogether.

Pros: I bought 2GB of this RAM for an Acer Ferrari 3200 laptop that came stock with 512MB. It was an exact match, easy to install and was auto detected at the high DDR400 speed versus DDR333 like the factory RAM it replaced. So now I have 4x more memory that also runs faster. Have run memtest and exercised it and it is solid.

Rating + 5 Newegg Rocks!


Pros: Very noticeable increase in the performance of my laptop running beta version of Vista. I can't wait to downgrade back to XP and see how it screams.

Cons: On a minor note 1st module was DOA and RMA'd back to Newegg. Quite surprised given my history with Corsair, but I still believe their memory modules are the best.

Other Thoughts: Newegg's service was superb as usual. I have come to expect no less than the best from them. Newegg has yet to fail me.

Rating + 5 Best RAM For The Price!


Pros: Corsair's line of ValueSelect RAM is one of my favorite brands of memory. I use it almost exclusively and recommend it to everyone I can. Never have any problems with this RAM and have used it in everything from servers to gaming and video editing rigs. This holds just as true for the laptop memory. I have two of these sticks running in several Uniwill 257SA1 laptops that are used for gaming. Running 2GB with games like BF2 and HL2 with no problems and minimal heat.

Cons: None really, except for some reason I don't like the packaging these things come in. I always feel like I have to pry the RAM out using quite a bit of force, so use caution.

Other Thoughts: Those who complain about the stability of this RAM simply do not know enough about it. If your RAM seems unstable, and your laptop allows you to change RAM settings, up the voltage for this stuff. That always helps out for stability, just make sure you check for the appropriate voltage before doing so. This mostly holds true for the ValueSelect desktop memory. They run perfectly in all the laptops I put them in.

Pros: I bought two of these, they run very well in my Alienware Aurora 9700M and now games run smoother and no longer lag during hard drive access. no blue screens, no crashing no problems at all.

Cons: It cost a lot more when I bought it a month ago. I wish I had waited.

Other Thoughts: My first Alienware laptop came with this brand in it, and I had no problems with it either. Good memory for the price.

Pros: Dropped right into my Compaq v2000-series laptop (v2413us). No setting to change in the BIOS for the DDR400 speed increase.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: By both Compaq's and Corsair's websites, I was recommended to use PC2700 RAM, like the stuff that was already in my laptop. I haven't noticed any negative effects, like more heat or shorter battery life. Wonder why they don't tell the consumer it's safe to upgrade?

Pros: The memory works fine in my laptop (dell inspiron 9200) and I haven't had any problems at installation. This isn't the first time I purchased corsair memory and they seem to make good parts. Both desktop and notebook memory.

Cons: Nothing, except maybe the price but then again, notebook memory is not cheap.

Pros: Name brand memory at a very affordable price. Corsair has usually been regarded as one of the better memory manufacturers.

Purchased 2x1GB to upgrade Toshiba Qosmio E15. Running Linux here, and the swap file has yet to be touched.

Regarding below RMA w/ NewEgg, very quick turn around.

Recently installed a module into an iBook G4 1.33Ghz, making 1.5 GB (512MB OEM). Much more responsive.

Cons: Ran Memtest86 seperately on each module, tested in both memory sockets, and discovered one of the two units was faulty. A bit dissappointed as this seems to be a trend with this product line.

Pros: If it works, it works great

Cons: There is some uncertainty about the kinds of notebooks in which the momery would work. Seems to overheat in Presario M200Z w/ AMD Turion ML-32 (1.8 GHz)

Other Thoughts: The memory worked well in my Presario M2000Z w/ AMD Turion ML-32 for six days. On the seventh day computer started acting out and ultimately froze. Next day it froze 1 minute after startup. Replacing with OEM memory solved all the problems.

Pros: Put two of these bad boys in my Inspiron 9100. Went from 512 MB to 2 gigs. I can't even begin to describe the difference. Gaming is smooth and everything loads so much faster. There's even a drastic change in how long it takes to shut down the computer. Excellent product, excellent price.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: UPS takes too long, go FedEX.

Pros: changed out my 512 mb for 2 gb of this memory in my hp8210 very noticeable difference no lags, now boots up very fast, worried about going from pc 2700 to pc 3200 but works great highly recomend this upgrade

Cons: none really got one bad ram that would not be reconized by system so used my 256 with the new one till exchange. New egg was johnny on the spot with the exchange maybe one week turn around no questions asked and was not charged extra shipping. have used new egg a while first exchange. now absolutly no reservations, new egg very good company to deal with

Pros: I play WoW on an alienware laptop. It started playing slugish and then I upgraded from 1 gig to 1.5 gig with this stick. Much better performance. Will be upgrading to 2 gig shortly.

Cons: None that I've found yet.

Other Thoughts: Corsair is what was installed on my machine and since alienware uses quality parts I used them too.

Pros: Replaced a 256mb stick with this 1gb, I run lots of windows and programs, this helped my little HP laptop out big time. Fantastic, you can't go wrong adding more ram to any computer. No boot issues, put it in and it fired right up to it.

Pros: No problems, I replaced two 256MB PC2700 DDR 333 with two Corsair ValueSelect 1GB PC3200 DDR 400
I saved money and got faster memory. HP would have sold me PC2700 if I had opted to get an upgrade from them. This 2GB's of memory worked perfectly in my new HP Pavilion dv5000z with AMD Turion 64 ML-40 (2.2GHz/1MB L2 Cache)
You can't go wrong with 2GB's of Corsair ram. Lifetime warranty.

Cons: None yet.....
I tried a cheaper brand ram in my last notebook, it really seemed to run hot. I guess you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg rocks...great prices, fast shipping and in the event you need to NewEgg makes returns painless.
Why buy on xBay when you can get it from a reputable established company for the same price or less. I have made many "buys" from NewEgg over the years, they have a 100% Positive Feedback Rating in my book.

Pros: works great, SPD entries for PC2100 CAS 2.2.2.6, PC2700 CAS 2.5.3.3.7, and PC3200 CAS 3.3.3.8

Pros: Works great with my inspiron 9100, lets me play doom 3 way better and multitask. beats in value the original replacement. Somehow my lap is now cooler I guess less use of the HD memory

Cons: the standard 3 day shipping took 4 days instead of 3, but that's all. I want one more :)

Other Thoughts: Now my inspiron 9100 now has 1.25ghz since i kept one 250meg stick inside and this 1g+ 250mb configuration works good

Pros: Couldn't say

Cons: This memory will not step down to 333 MHz in most common laptops. I believe this is due to missing entries on the SPD chip. I tried it in a Compaq Presario V2000 and a similar Gateway laptop but it wouldn't boot.

Other Thoughts: Corsair confirmed that they do not support this module at 333MHz even though DDR is supposed to be backwards compatible

Pros: Fast and clean memory with timings that actually show up correctly. I put this memory in my v2000z compaq and it works flawlessly. Matches your athlon 64's bus.!

Cons: Need to remove exsisting memory to get the full speed.

Pros: Memory works great at 2100, 2700, and 3200 speeds. I've used these in units running at each.

Cons: More expensive then generic memory but I prefer to stick with companies I can trust.

Pros: Cheap. Fast. Very compatible.
I installed it in my Dell Inspiron 5160 without a problem. The system detected it and underclocked accordingly. I immediately seen an increase in performance. With this ram, program load times were cut in half.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: I have always had excellent luck out of Corsair ram and suspect that I will continue to.

Pros: Runs beautifully on my Acer AS3003WLCi in DDR-333 mode.

Cons: My laptop is only a 333MHz DDR bus, so it's not making full use of the available bandwidth.
