Pros: Price was excellent (at the time of purchase) for this memory kit. I see no reason to pay the extra money to get the "Apple specific" memory package which is far more expensive.

Cons: Price for DDR3 memory compared to DDR2 nowadays.

Pros: works perfect in the new iMacs 27" for 1/2 price from Apple.
Remove the plate under the iMac, slide in the 2 extra SODIMM cards and you are done.
The Mac Automatically reboots in 64bits and has 8Gb of RAM. Ez as 123

Other Thoughts: I had the original 2GB that came with the laptop. And I was ready to upgrade since I am using VMware Fusion more these days. And having the extra RAM, the computer runs much better. At first I was wondering how it would be to open the laptop since I never replaced anything in a laptop before, but it was very easy. The old RAM came out very easy.

Other Thoughts: my only concern with this memory is that when i put it into my brandnew lenovo y550 it completly crashed my comp.. the screen wouldnt turn on.. i had to put the old ram back in the top slot and boot it up.. take it out then put the ram in and it magically worked. it gave me quite a scare and when i called lenovo they said to send it in for repair that would take 2 weeks!!!! dont do that! just screw around a little bit. and yes this works on lenovos and it works great.

Pros: Simple quick install, popped out the old ones, put in the new ones was picked up by OSX as 4GB and has been working solid since.

Cons: -Trying to get the package open

Other Thoughts: Aside from having to remove a lot of screws form the Macbook Pro base, everything went smoothly with my July 09 Macbook Pro 13.3". Right after installation I ran 3 passes of MemTestOSX and it passed with flying colours. It's been running solid for a week now, I definitely recommend this for any other MBP owners.

Pros: Price

Cons: One stick of ram didn't work right out of the box. I had a previous problem with Crucial ram in the past (years ago) but decided to give it another chance with all of the great reviews it had gotten. Now I had to pay to get it sent back to newegg to get replaced so hopefully the new set will work fine.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully the new ram I get will work fine. This is the last time I'm going to give crucial my business. The last set of ram I had made by them didn't last a year, and now I get a bad one right out of the box.

Pros: Works great in my MacBook5,1 (Unibody; MB, not MBP). Ran memtest86 after installation, no problems.

It's great to have 4GB. 2GB is just not enough if you run, say, Firefox, VirtualBox/Windows XP, and Eclipse at the same time. (And forget Photoshop!)

Cons: Can't think of any.

Other Thoughts: The screws in MacBooks are tricky to unscrew; don't get your Phillips #00 screwdrivers at Walgreens like I did. Those suck.

Pros: Took longer on my mid 2009 Macbook pro (13") to unscrew the back than it was to unscrew the backing. Dropped right in and recognized on startup.

Cons: No technical cons, but the packaging was a lil tight and I was afraid I was going to snap the sticks while trying to pry them out.

Pros: I got this for my new 13" MacBook Pro unibody, instead of building it preconfigured with 4G of RAM. It works great and now I don't run up against the 2G limit after running only a few apps.

- $40 less than adding to your MBP when you order it
- free shipping
- you get to open your new laptop for a moment and appreciate the engineering

Cons: Only con I can think is they come in a plastic container that is so freakin tight that it feels like you're going to break something trying to pop them out. I actually sliced the tip of my index finger open trying to pull them out, and didn't even realize it until after I finished putting the bottom cover back on and saw blood.

Pros: Install went smoothly. Well packaged ram. My brother had no trouble installing it into his new Macbook Pro 2009 13 Inch Aluminum Laptop. Detected all 4 gigs on boot up. Now he can blaze through 100s of open windows and run photoshop without any lag (hence the upgrade).

Cons: No problems were found. Ram runs at rated speed and works in Mac- how great is that? Don't bother buying overpriced Mac made memory.

Other Thoughts: Memory dropped price right after I bought it!!! Had to complain and found out you can get the difference credited back to you before your item is delivered. So like a 3 day window with regular shipping. Keep your eyes on the prices like a hawk to not get ripped off. Newegg... I love ya, but be a little more consistent please.

Pros: I've recently purchased 2 new iMacs, one for me and one for my wife. I ordered this RAM first for my iMac and it worked flawlessly as I expected it would (see my previous review).

Cons: However, the second order would not start up in my wife's new iMac. I returned it for refund and ordered the iMac guaranteed RAM at extra cost.

Other Thoughts: It's always a gamble when ordering RAM for Macs that's not specifically guaranteed for that particular model.

Pros: Easy to install (please read "other thoughts). Has worked great since first bootup after I installed RAM in my brand new MacBook Pro 13".

Other Thoughts: I accidentally disconnected a little wire connection which is next too the RAM housing (on left as you look at it). After rebooting, my keyboard backlighting did not work. Spent time trouble shooting and found out (via post on the internet) that someone else had determined that his keyboard lighting problem was related to accidentally disconnecting this wire during RAM installation. Re-opened my MacBook Pro and found I had indeed knocked it loose. Reattached it and now my keyboard backlighting works! So be careful.

Pros: Purchased for $50 dollars! Apple sells their 4GB upgrade for $200 on their website. No crashes, no hangs, zero problems since my purchase. Does not seem to have the same freezing issues as the Mushkin or Kingston 4gb DDR3 kits available here on newegg.com under the "Mac Memory" section.

Cons: I wish the 8gb kit was cheaper. Wishful thinking, but not necessary.

Other Thoughts: If you want the 4GB of memory, but the $200 price scares you, this is a stable alternative to Apple-branded or certified products. Worth keeping in mind, if you get a defective set, (which is common, apple-branded or otherwise) purchasing a second set or memory, will still be cheaper than purchasing it from Apple. But if you're on this site, you're probably already aware of that.

Pros: Great memory, though in the past buying directly from crucial used to be bad if any of you know of the lawsuit against the company. The ram is great, very fast, full memory test reported no errors. Highly recommend to anyone, macs are a bit tricky to install but its worth it over the $100 at time of purchase at the apple store and you get the keep the 2 1gb sticks, worth a whole $4 on the web.

Other Thoughts: To remove the screws on the back and inside of the MacBook Pro you needs a Phillips size 0000 screw driver, bought mine at my local hardware store $3.20 with tax.

Pros: Inexpensive Upgrade compared to what Apple wants to charge for the exact same memory. Installed no issues.

Cons: Hardest part about this upgrade is opening the Mini, nothing a putty knife wont solve just have to be careful.

Other Thoughts: Dual Boot via BootCamp to Win XP, but am going to upgrade the Windows Side to Win7. If you are concerned about doing this, it's not as hard as it seems just do some research on how to open the Mini before you do it.

Pros: Solved the "Unexpected Shutdown" issues I was experiencing with Vista on (approximately) every 3 out of 10 cold boots and/or restarts.

Other Thoughts: I installed this in a new MacBook Pro 13.3". I was a little concerned after reading reports about memory incompatibility with some Mac systems. I did my research, and this is the same kit Crucial recommends on their site, but for a slightly lower price. Supposedly getting a matched pair of memory helps to ensure compatibility and full dual-channel speed of the RAM. To make a long story short, I installed the 4GB of RAM in my new MacBook Pro, it works, and I'm happy. I saved about $40 over ordering from Apple. The factory RAM was made by Hynix, BTW.

Other Thoughts: Save yourself a some cash and upgrade to 4gb or RAM yourself. RAM is very easy to install. I'll keep the stock 2gb or RAM just in case something goes wrong or I need to return the product or something, though that's very unlikely to happen.
Also.. I usually just have safari, itunes, ichat, and word running on my computer. Leopard and all these apps are not memory hungry at all, so I really didn't really notice that much of a difference upgrading from 2gb to 4gb, except maybe 2-3 seconds in startup and shutdown. If you do use more resource hungry programs like vmware, photoshop, etc, I'm sure I'd make a bigger difference than it did for me. But for an average user 2gb should be enough, but it never hurts to have the best :)

Pros: It was very easy to install on my unibody MacBook. Total installation time took about 10 minutes. If you have a MB, pay attention as you're taking out the screws because a few of them are different sizes.

While the extra RAM doesn't seem to help improve light usage, it helps a lot when running many applications. I'm currently running Photoshop and VMWare Fusion (Windows XP) and my system is speeding along great.

Newegg also has the best price I've found for this Crucial RAM.

Cons: None, although I'm not sure what to do with the 2 sticks of RAM I took out.
