Wow it makes a differance!
Pros: I have a Dell XPS710 64bit w/Windows 7 Ultimate. On the performance test I went from a 7.1 on ram and memory to 7.2. I upgraded from 4 GB to 8Gb. Two were Crucial 1gb and 2 were from Dell 1 gb. The .1 increase dosn't show how fast it made this computer, seeing the speed is the WOW!
Cons: None. The slowest thing on my computer is the Hard Drive. Rating of 5.9 On Windows 7.
Other Thoughts: The red LED's are cool, but I can,t see them in my case. But it shows red light out the back.

Excellent Memory Value
Pros: Crucial Ballistix Tracer 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT25664AR80A - Retail kit was a very good buy. Everything went smooth and now my computer runs great. Perfect, Fast and Reliable!
Cons: They weren't FREE! There are none at this time, everything is running good. Nice pair of matching sticks...
Other Thoughts: Perfect, Fast and Reliable, need more speed. I love the flashing red leds, didn't know this at the time I bought them. There great!

Excellent Memory Value
Pros: Nice fast ram at a good price. I picked up 2 2x2 4 gig kits.. One for my build and one for a friends build.. None of them were doa. Everything went smoothly with both Asus M4A785-M MOBOs.. Easily overclocked to 1066 and the leds were a must have with side window cases..
Cons: It wasnt free
Other Thoughts: It was a great price and it works nicely

Fail after 6 months
Pros: Worked great for the first 6 months I had it. Newegg service and shipping was great, as always.
Cons: Started causing bluescreens after about six months. I have two of these kits in my computer, so I took two DIMMs out just to see what would happen, and everything was lovely, no more bluescreens. So I figured one of those two DIMMs was bad and just ran with 4 gigs. Now a couple months after that, I'm getting bluescreens again, with the other two DIMMs.
Other Thoughts: I've always bought el cheapo no-name RAM in the past and had zero problems. I won't buy Crucial again. Clearly this is just a dud part.

Stay far away
Pros: Only one of two sticks worked after 2 days. When I booted up the first time I saw 4GB installed. However, I never saw it again. A suckers rebate.
Cons: One stick showed intermitant failure after 2 hours, the other stick only worked at latency 5. On auto or 4 I got BSODs every hour.
Other Thoughts: I do not understand how they can let these out of the factory without real life testing. Both sticks passed memtest but clearly one stick is completely shot and the other stick does not meet specs. This makes is very hard to build a new system since you are not really sure which parts are failing. Stay away from this AT ALL COSTS or you will waste HOURS trying to find what part has failed.
Newegg was very helpfull in giving me a complete refund.

Disappointing
Pros: It worked for about 8 months, with no problems whatsoever. The LEDs were cheesy, but a little neat to watch.
Cons: Had this in a system for 8 months or so, then started getting bluescreens. Intermittent Memtest errors -- RMAed both sticks. The RMA process was great, and I got the RAM back in 2 weeks . . . unfortunately, the RAM from the RMA is also causing bluescreens and memtest errors. I've given up, and am using some other stuff I had in a different machine.
Other Thoughts: I think the heatspreader on this RAM is too thin. Most of my memtest errors came after the machine was running for a while -- if I let it sit for a while, usually there were no memtest errors or bluescreens for a few hours.
I'll still purchase Crucial products in the future, but I have given up on RMAing these again -- it's just not worth the hassle for a product I don't trust.

Dying
Pros: LEDs are nice if that's your kind of thing. Ran just fine until they stopped working.
Cons: Started getting BSODs in Win7 and kernal panics in the Linux Mint 8. Ran Memtest. 27904 errors on one pass of memtest.
Other Thoughts: Chances are it is simply one bad stick, but I throughly tested this ram in memtest for 8+ hours when I first built my system. Clearly a failing product. I'm currently RMAing all four sticks to Crucial. Hopefully they send me a different product that'll work.

Dieing
Pros: The lights are really nice and ran nice while they worked.
Cons: Starting getting blue screens after a couple months. Ran windows memory diagnostics and some other tests...confirmed that one of them are going bad.

ECS GeForce6100SM-M Upgrade
Pros: This memory works great with my ECS GeForce6100SM-M V1.0 motherboard. I upgraded my Windows XP Professional system to 64 bit Windows 7 Professional. Some hardware had to be changed out before the OS upgrade was performed. I replaced the built in video graphics with a PCI express Visiontek HD4650 video graphics card. The memory was replaced with the Crucial Ballistix Tracer 4GB memory upgrade kit. The processor is a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+. Windows 7 64 bit Professional is running without any problems. This is a two year old system that is now reborn. Excellent!
Cons: It wasn't all fun and games. After the OS upgrade, I noticed that the system would occasionally shut off while it was POSTing. The problem was intermittent. How irritating! I decided to disable the "Quick Power On Self Test" in the BIOS, in a effort to isolate the problem. This allowed me to view the BIOS memory test while the system was booting. Viola, the system would shut off at the 2GB memory mark everytime. I thought for sure that the Crucial memory was bad. I was getting ready to put my old memory back in and return the Crucial memory to NewEgg. I didn't want to do that. I decided to try something else. I went to the ECSUSA web site and downloaded the new GeForce6100SM-M (PCB:1.x) motherboard BIOS dated 08/05/23. I applied the update by following the VISTA instructions on the ECSUSA web site. WinFlash worked great inside of Windows 7 even though I had to run it as Administrator. The BIOS upgrade worked. All 4GB pass the POST memory test. The POST power down problem is gone.

Not as good as the old tracers
Pros: Cheaper then the first set of Tracers I bought, good stable memory
Cons: Across computers I own 6 pairs of the old Black Ballistix Tracers, that were rated 800mhz, 5-5-5-15. EVERY SINGLE ONE of those did 1100mhz at 4-4-4-12 @ 2.1v. These I had to keep at stock, 800mhz, and run @ 2.2vs to get even working. No overclocking the sticks I got in the mail at all. I paired them with the old sticks I've had in for 2 years, and actually had to DOWNCLOCK these.
Other Thoughts: Youg et the speed you pay for, the support of Crucial, but these ain't the same quality as they used to be. Then again, these ain't 300$ like they used to be either, so *shrug*

Christmas lights for your PC!
Pros: Works as expected in ganged mode on GigaByte MB. Newegg rocks as usual.
Cons: Was cheaper when I bought it. :-(

Worked great while it lasted
Pros: It worked great while it worked. Pretty LEDs if you're into that kinda thing.
Cons: I bought this in March for a PC I built for my brother. It's now November. One of the two sticks just stopped working. Everything was configured properly, and it just randomly died. Not sure if this is a typical thing for Crucial, as this was the first time I've ever used their products. I heard good things about them, possibly a dud?

It's Crucial...it just works
Pros: Memory works fine.
Cons: Annoying LEDs on it.
Other Thoughts: What can I say...no risks when using Crucial memory...it just works.
The regular modules were out of stock, so I bought these instead. These modules have an array of (IMHO) annoying red LEDs on the top edge that flash on and off, and some LEDs pointing downwards that illuminate the area around the slots. I've already covered up the top LEDs with black electrical tape, as I'd prefer not seeing a light show coming out the side of my case. :)

WONDERFUL
Pros: Low voltage, great overclocker, cool looking
Cons: None for me.
Other Thoughts: I have 8gb of these 4x2gb sticks...they work wonderful...I dnt overclock them...but I could if I wanted to. I was able to get them to 600mhz or ddr2 1200 if you wanna call it that. I could prolly push them further...but theres no point of risking it. Ram at 800 or 1200 doesnt have much difference in real life apps..

Awesome, despite defective RAM
Pros: The ram accurately registers the timing of 4,4,4,12 I bought two sets of these from newegg about six months ago. One set was bad. However Crucial made the replacement EASY. I called them up, Provided the BL number, told them it was bad, and they are sending me out two new sticks. She didn't even ask me to go through and troubleshoot my system, which is awesome.
The process was so easy that I'll probably stick with buying Crucial memory from now on.
Cons: Well, At least one of them was bad. (I did not individually try each stick) but the ease of RMAing them makes up for this. Defects can and do happen.
Other Thoughts: Even though at least one of them was bad, it still worked. My system would just crash when accessing that portion of it..

6 Months later
Pros: The LEDs are awesome. Very bright and added the "bling" I wanted to my case.
Cons: Ok, I wrote a review on these a couple of months ago with a video clip- Do your research before you buy. I have been running these chips for 6 months now, and I'm getting errors on memtest as of recent. Just look at crucial's forums- they speak for themself. It progressively gets worse- 1 error, then 2, then 4, until my computer crashes. I have to unplug it and let it decharge before the errors disappear- only to reappear again.
Other Thoughts: I ran these guys at stock settings from day one. No overclocking, no voltage increases, no tighter timing settings. Crucial has lost a customer for life because of this. RMA isn't even worth it because others claim you just get faulty chips for a replacement.

burned out ram slot
Pros: nice looking good service 3 0f 4 sticks work great.
Cons: installed ram, system wouldn't boot.I killed power a started checking, found one real hot (oh 0h ) stick.to make a long story short.one stick was shot and it took the RAM slot with it.comp works fine so far with 3 sticks of 2gig. egg would RMA it but whats the point.only 3 good slots on Asus striker extrime board. could be time rebuild.
Other Thoughts: Newegg is a good company to deal with.fast delivery on everything i ever bought there.2 to 3 days del. time

Great RAM, lousy MIR, and Cust Serv
Pros: These boot right at spec after a 2.0V Vdimm ramp. No probs, like the LEDs, looking sweet in a Antec 1200. besides the LEDs light show, they are running like the Crucial I am used too. Look slike they may have overcome that little QA issue they had with this series last year. Best of all, I got them on a super deal weekend. Big fat Mail In Rebate .........................
Cons: ....... a big fat MIR that their media promotions company tried to scrrew me out of!!!!!! Dirty dogs. The label card it came with got cut off above the UPC #s. It was obvious, should have been obvious to even the most retarddded knucklehead anywheres. But not at their media house, Statusnow I believe. They tried to say I didnt send it in!!! I obviously sent in the UPC, but my gut feeling was they'd try and pull something like this, and low and behold they did!!! Luck for me, I know better and keep scans of everything!!! I quick email to NE, who absolutely rule, showed them, I was in the right here, and they advocated for me!! Crucial will poopp-beee-doo on its customers. Not NE, NE cares!!!
Other Thoughts: Crucial did try and come back after the fact and claim they would have addressed the issue, but they way I look at it, if a company allows one ttard into the house, history tells me, it probably full of taards. So why waste time? I will buy Crucial again though, and I would buy this sweet ram again.

hmm half doa? prob just me
Pros: Good ram. when you dont get a doa. lol. FASSSSST. lights are awesome. I like how its lights go good with the blue fans and the one green fan in my xclio a380
Cons: got one doa stick in the pack of 2. It was definitely doa.. tried all kinds of combinations, then put the ram in by itself. Still froze at boot logo.
Other Thoughts: Pentium D 3.2ghz Xclio a380 gaming case 2 x 8600GTS SSC edtion (only one in right now) Asus P5nSLI 500 watt thermalrock ninja zalman 9500

not stable
Pros: none
Cons: Causing BSOD. memtest failed.
Other Thoughts: Worked fine for the first couple of months on my NF680i motherboard as an upgrade from 2 to 4 GB. Then the system start to BSODs. Tested with memtest, it failed consitently. I tried two other motherboards, NF780i and nForce 780a. Memtest failed the same way. I used my old RAM, they works perfectly.
RMA. Stilled waiting to test the new ones.

Cons: Heat spreader is a little thin.

Crucial Ballistix
Pros: This memory is very fast when it works.
Cons: This is the second time I will be shipping this memory back for warranty. The first time I sent it back they shipped me a new set and in about two months went out again. If it goes out again I will be buying a different brand for replacement.

Excellent RAM
Pros: The modules I received were excellent. I put them in my EVGA 780i For The Win and went to the BIOS. There I set them to expert and they auto set to 4-4-4-12. Bumped the Voltage to 2.0 and I have had no problems with them after 9 months of rigorous gaming, and I am even running them T1. Honestly I bought them because of the lights. Now I love them for the performance.
Cons: No cons that I can think of. Sometimes I get stuck staring at the dancing lights but I never forget to turn my PC off.
Other Thoughts: They added a high-tech look to my case that impresses most people. The red lights are really bright. If you are going for a red motif than these would be perfect

Good memory for a while...
Pros: Great memory, cute lights and high preformance.
Cons: Runs hot. I added a memory fan to add some additional airflow on these because while they move heat away from the chips they run hot. Most motherboards leave little room for good airflow around the heat radiators.
Other Thoughts: I have had 4 of these running in a vista 64 PC. They ran well for about a year then I noticed several failures that windows blamed on random hardware. This is a pretty common failure symptom for memory issues. After removing 2 of them my machine runs perfectly again. Bottom line after almost a year 2 of my 4 failed....not a graet track record.

What can I say?
Pros: 4GB DDR2 800 set, LEDs, Crucial warranty, 2.0V, not 2.2V 804 modules.
Looks good in my computer case and is running just fine. This is my second purchase of BL2KIT25664AR80A since January. New Egg has offered me the best price for all of the many memory modules I have purchased from them.
Cons: Life: Well, I've had my first set of this BL2KIT25664AR80A 2.0V since January 2009. I purchased it from the Egg when an earlier purchase of Ballistix Tracer, also purchased from New Egg, (BL2KIT25664AL804) failed after two years of continuous 24/7 use at its rated 2.2V. Note: You can't mix 2.0V and 2.2V versions and many look the same - so, be sure to read the numbers. Don't rely on using the "auto" BIOS settings for volts or timings - set them manually. Many motherboard BIOS don't always recognize and set memory values properly in the "auto" mode - or retain the proper value shown in "auto".
I also had a failure with Ballistix Tracer BL2KIT12864AL804 after two and a half years of running it at its rated 2.2V. All my failures occurred where I had all four slots in my motherboards filled with matching volt and timed 804 module Tracer memory - each computer case was also of a very cool-running design (Antec Sonata and server cases).
Other Thoughts: Don't confuse this memory with the earlier 804 modules that run at 2.2V. Crucial quickly replaced my failed 804 Ballistix Tracer modules. They had both the original 804 and new 80A modules, but I requested the newer 80A modules and Crucial sent me what I requested.
Curiously, none of my earliest BL12864AA804 Ballistix 2.2V modules have ever failed. But, they aren't Ballistix Tracer modules with the LEDs and they have only been run as a single pair where I used them. So, only 804 module Tracers have failed me and only after two years at their rated voltages I set manually in BIOS. Note: My first 804 Ballistix was $200 per 1GB. stick in 2006. Prices have really come down for Ballistix and Ballistix Tracer modules.

Great memory
Pros: Works right out of the box. The LEDs(red) made all the diference, love them. Great deal for the price. Very happy right now.
Cons: Don't know yet. I just got them installed today.
Other Thoughts: I am runing windowx XP pro(32bit) OS, so it showing only 3.5GB instead of the full 4GB, but that's okay for me(due to the 32bit). Upgraded from a 2GB stick.

DDR that just wears out fast
Pros: I installed this DDR2 on my new system, and it worked flawlessly at 4-4-4-12. I never OC'ed it, but figured the memory was plenty fast as is.
Cons: 7 months later I am picking up errors in 6 memory locations. It took a while to realize what was happenning as first I blamed Vista, then my HD, but in the end it was these memory modules.
Other Thoughts: The system has never been overclocked and I have an ANtec 900 case which stays very cool. After reading too many stories similar to mine, I must deduce that these memory are flawed and the flaw shows up after 3-9 months.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that our memory has caused any issues. Please feel free to contact our support at 1-800-336-8896 and we will assist you any way possible. Be sure you have adequate airflow and the latest system BIOS in your system. If you call, please have your system configuration information available so we can assist with any troubleshooting or configuration required.

Great RAM for a while
Pros: When I built my gaming rig a while ago I thought that everyone was crazy with saying that this RAM was bad. I put it in and it ran flawlessly! I don't have a window so the LEDs weren't an issue for me. Great RAM until today.
Cons: I noticed on Friday May 20th that my XP was only detecting 2.75 gigs instead of 3.75 and I thought something was going bad. I went out and grilled some stuff today on Memorial day and came back to the 0x0000007F blue screen and I pulled the secondary stick and it booted just fine. I will call Ballistix tomorrow to see what the hell the deal is.
Other Thoughts: I have NEVER written a review for Newegg because I feel that most of their reviews are off. I have been buying from them for about 3-4 years and everything is flawless. This is my very first bad part. By no means should this keep you from buying this memory! It could have been the luck of the draw for me. I hope this helps you all!

Bling Bling
Pros: Running at correct timings and clock speeds out of the box, true "RED" leds, awesome for a budget gaming PC build, look fantastic with a clear-sided case.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I used these on my first build with a P45 mobo. I did not have to do anything in the BIOS to set these up; they ran correctly at the specified settings right out of the box. I have not tried oc'ing them- I have no reason to. Red LEDs go great with my red-themed Antec 900. I cannot stop looking at them.

Old Geek Whut Likes the Lites
Pros: I am an old geek grandpa building PCs for family, friends, and, yes, two very young but PC-proficient grandsons. Loved the back and forth from other reviewers on the bling lites winking, blinking and nodding. Frankly, they are just way cool whether you're 6 or 60. Hey, it's OK for a PC to look cool and those blinking LEDs are just way Hal-cool. Did I mention the modest price and Newegg's usual fast delivery?
Cons: None. Memory installed and runs flawlessly in a P35 build.
Other Thoughts: Yep, two ways to go here:
1) Run MemTest and have a roll-in-the-floor seizure with the LEDs, or, 2) Get a library card.

Trippy
Pros: Solid performance, can't complain.
Cons: I missed the fact that these have LEDs in them, they're really trippy and obnoxious. Luckily I can't see them once the chassis is closed.

best running/lloking d9,s out
Pros: i bought 2 kits, yes 8 gigs total...gamers are extreme.and when u buy ram u wanna buy them all at once so not only do u get same part number,u get same revesion number.u want purfect matching sticks...trust me on this 1.
the leds are bright and do look wiked.if your a more reserved nerd and dont like bling, then buy a escort,a library card, and not this ram.
runs at ddr1030 5/5/5/15 2.176 volts STABLE,yes..unreal..buy it
Cons: theres no cons, are u kidding these are incredible.
Other Thoughts: using this amount of ram with VERY LOW volts any speed over ddr850+ run 5/5/5/15 for COMPLETE stabilty.

JUST PLAYING AROUND HERE
Pros: ok, hmmm(RED), how does this work, well press firmly and....... POP(MORE RED). ohhhhhhhhh, 2.0v/ 4-4-4-12, i am not even sure what my fsb was at the time, but i had my c2d charged to 4.0gig and boots str8 2 win.i don't even mess-around with crucial. loyal customer to their G-O-D-like ways. never done me wrong. they always have their time when they dogg the market and charge less. thats when i do the koooo-dah-graaaaa dance. anyway, have not mem-tested. new led display(RED)....wow, four sticks of these and i could stop traffic on the street while waving my tower at them(RED)(RED)(RED), did i mention(RED). for overclocking hit a thousand @4/4/4/12-2t-2v without even tring (WHOA....... RED). duh.... theses are two gig sticks here. i'm going lower(RED).
Cons: can we have a six egg rating please.
Other Thoughts: i've read reviews about overclocking, these ballistix line modules are always near the best, if not the top performer. whoa did i mention how red these things are, i am going to need a disco-all inside my case. later gents.

Hilarious
Pros: This RAM is just silly, with the red LEDs and the constant flickering. I don't have a side panel on my case, but there are large enough ventilation holes that the red can shine through. When the case is open it really looks silly. But hey I got the RAM for less than $20, so I cannot complain.
Cons: The red LEDs kinda get old after a while.
Other Thoughts: My mom had to hold me down during my seizure, due to the red strobe coming from the case (j/k).

This RAM is pretty freakin' cool.
Pros: Low timings, typical Crucial quality, swanky red lights.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: This RAM is rock-solid. Low timings and (from what I've read in other reviews) lots of overclocking room. Also, it's Crucial memory. Can't get any better than that!
From a strictly aesthetic view, this stuff is gorgeous. If you have a windowed case (like my Antec 900) it looks totally nerd-cool.
The blue light from the fans and the red glow from the RAM gives you that whole 'hot-and-cold' thing going on. Looks sweet.
5-egg rating on this RAM. For DDR2-6400, this stuff is the best I could want.

Brighter than I thought!
Pros: It's back to having 2 rows of LEDs like the original tracers - That's awesome!
940mhz 5-5-5-15 @2.0v. It will go a lot faster but 940mhz seems to be the sweet spot for my 780i. Everest memory benches score a lot higher at 940mhz vs 1000. I have not tried to tweak memory timings yet so I may be able to get it lower than 5-5-5.
Cons: Running 2 sets of these to make 8GB is blindingly bright! It lights the entire room with the side panel removed. Not really a con, just personal preference.
1 stick of my old tracers (with one row of LEDs) went bad and Crucial would not let me upgrade and pay the difference for these red ones... No biggie, but a certain company by the name of oh see zee has let me upgrade SDRAM for DDR in the past.
Other Thoughts: 780i strap makes going any higher worthless unless you make enough extra CPU clock speed to make up for the loss in memory performance. Just the latency alone is 47ms @940mhz vs 70ms @1000mhz.
I wish other brands made lighted RAM to introduce a little competition in the market.
Always use 1:1 ratio on these nvidia boards.

Good memory thus far
Pros: I just installed 2 of these kits, and despite concerns due to reports of failure rates, it all works perfectly fine thus far. If I run into any problems I will update this review, but I've had no issues so far. Runs fast, works well.
Cons: None yet.

Working so far
Pros: Works fine. Lights if you like them.
Cons: Lights aren't necessary.
Other Thoughts: To respond to Windows Vista score review, I have two in a Vista 32-bit and scored a 5.9. Maybe don't put too much stock in Vista scores. It might have made a difference that I'm running in a quad core which isn't really a memory issue.
Not much else to say about memory.

like wow man
Pros: this is some good ram. fast and very shiny.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: the leds are all red on these sticks, I have some smaller, older, sticks of this same ram that have red and green leds. I was hoping these would be the same, but there are more leds on these ones to make up for the monochromism.

works fine
Pros: works fine in my ECS motherboard. LED makes the inside look better, even though I dont care much about them. was easy to install just like any other memory module.
Cons: nothing much for a memory module, I guess
Other Thoughts: just wished winxp could use up more than 4gb of memory.

Very nice but...
Pros: Very good quality. I have Intel D975XBX2 which it read at 4-4-4-12 as Profile option so it default at 5-5-5-18. I select profile (4-4-4-12) without problem. It running good. But...read cons.
Cons: Bought two (8GB total), Vista score on Memory (RAM)result at 5.6??? I thought Ballistix is a beast which it will score 5.9 on Memory (RAM), unfortunely... no. Oh well.
My PC - Vista Score result Processor: 5.9 Memory (RAM): 5.6 Graphics: 5.9 Gaming Graphics: 5.9 Primary Hard Disk: 5.9
Other Thoughts: Is there any trick to beat Vista's score on Memory (RAM) with this (Red) Ballistix?

Pros: Bright. The color bleeds with my blue fans to form purple on various parts on the inside and outside.
Cons: none.

Rockin memoy
Pros: Overclocks like a champ. Flexing all 8gb from two kits by encoding videos with the system these went into and have not had any hiccups. Oc'd these to 1200MHz and then did a 24 hour test with Prime95. Did not get a blue screen once and temps in the case stayed acceptable. After the burn in did some encoding of HD movies to do more testing, still no freezes, lockups, hickups or BSOD's. Installed at 5-5-5-18 timings on my XFX 780i at first, this was due to the mobo defaulting to 1.85V for the memory, upped it to 2.0 and set the timers to the right settings. Decided not to run 1.85 since I knew I would be overclocking these, so you may be able to get the 4-4-4-12 at 1.85 with some modification.
Cons: Red lights could be annoying if you hate lights and have a clear sided case, but then again why would you have a clear sided case.
Other Thoughts: I am running this memory on my XFX 780i mobo with FSB oc'd to 300MHz. Got a Q6600 in it as well as 3TB of hard drives for video encoding. The Q6600 is humming along at 2.7GHz. Hope to have it up to 325MHz FSB and possibly 350MHz soon. Once I get an i7 rig I will probably OC this one till smoke pours out of it.

Great ram
Pros: Bright red leds fast can "somewhat overclock"
Cons: not really cons
Other Thoughts: doesnt seem to work well with Vista kept getting blue screens and lockups,, so i tried it on windows xp 32 bit and it only show up 3.25 gb which i was expecting then i try it on xp 64bit and all 4gb show up... so if your having problems it may be Vista

ballistix
Pros: i have a question-havent bought it yet-i own crucial ballistix-it the tracer compatable with older ballistix? i believe the timing is the same at 4-4-4-12? any feedback would be helpful, especially from crucial.
Cons: dont know if this is compatable with older crucial ballistix?
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for your question. You may be able to mix your older revision if it has the same specs. Make sure they are the same voltage. If you are not sure, please contact our support at 1-800-336-8896 and we can help you verify.

Very Cool - Timings Work
Pros: 4-4-4-12, pretty fast timings and low voltage if you are into over clocking.
The led lights at the top of the sticks are great! makes them look like kit from knight rider, and sometimes looks like they are dancing.
Cons: that they dont offer them in different colors, and sometimes the lights are too bright, i have a clear case, and this thing shines!

Cons: NONE!!!!!!

Good ram, lights up
Pros: Ram runs stable, even when overclocked, Red LEDs are bright.
Cons: Price.
Other Thoughts: Brought 2 packs of these (8 gigabytes total with 4 sticks) and they run at the correct timings and speeds stock. They run fine overclocked too, fast and stable at 1068mhz with 5-5-5-15 timings. The LEDs on them are nice there are 16 on each stick and they blink according to data load, faster during heavy usage and slow during idling.

superb ram
Pros: high reliability, high overclockability, and they look real nice to!, I have been runnig the same kit for well since they came out and never had them fail not even spit out errors.
Cons: NONE these guys that are running into problems have "avereage understanding" under tech knowledge, and " 1 day- 1 week" of ownership, hmmm that makes me wonder.
Other Thoughts: I'm a reviewer ok, I've been reviewing ram exclusively for years since before ddr2 came out. this ram has clocked to well over 1100mhz with no errors EVER. in fact have been running 1180 mhz sionce the day they hit newegg shelves, so either these guys are doing something wrong, or their motherboards like to eat ram for breakfast because these sticks rock

Again Disappointment
Pros: To update my first review of this RAM. Again very fast while it worked. Received RMA's ram very fast (NEWEGG ROX) I installed the ram then to give myself some hope I ram memtest86 OCZ edition and to my surprise zero errors.
Cons: ***HIGH FAILURE RATE*** Just read the reviews.
Other Thoughts: I have never overclocked this ram or the previous set. There is no need to 4GB of ram should be sufficient for just about any application out there today. Unfortunately I have had better performance and reliability out of Value Ram which is sad considering the price for this stuff. I had to reinstall OS and all games, applications, etc... as the first set trashed my OS and everything else on the drives (3 x 500GB WD SATAII in Raid 5) I was extremely happy with the ram until I started to again receive BSOD's, program corruption, program shutdowns. I tested with memtest86 again only to have over 200,000 errors on first pass. I promptly submitted a RMA on this set. And unfortunately for Crucial they have probably lost my business and my businesses business for a long time to come. I think I will try out the GEIL EVO ONE kit or Corsair Dominator.
Manufacturer Response:We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with our Ballistix Tracer Red series. Very high failure rate
Pros: The ram has good specifications and looks absolutely fantastic.
Cons: Very high failure rate. Within approximately 6 months I've had one 3 kits fail. RMA'd the first two sets for replacement. Now going to try to RMA the last one for _anything_ other than replacement.
Other Thoughts: The plain vanilla Crucial ram seems to have better reliability than Ballistix Tracer.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for your feedback. Please contact our support at 1-800-336-8896 as we would like to assist you with any memory issues. We would like to make sure you have the latest product ending in "80A" as you may have reviewed the previous version ending in "804". Loved 'em while they lasted
Pros: Great performance & speed when they worked. Awesome light show.
Cons: Had the same exact problem as Deepsyx and others. PC started blue screening me to death after 2-3 months. Also had a hard drive problem at the same time. Solved the issue with the hdd and found out the ram was the problem. Read there have been issues with this RAM.
Other Thoughts: Previously had OCZ ram and decided on the glitz & performance Crucial had to offer. After this problem and seeing others had the same issue, I searched Newegg for the fastest 2-2gb set I could get that had the best review. Decided on OCZ Reaper HPC Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB). I don't know if I'll even bother with RMAing them.

Bad Warranty Service
Pros: Usually works when new
Cons: Lifetime warranty means they will warranty it as long as they deem it current. They won't warranty DDR memory any more because it's "end-of-life". Crucial used to give a store credit when they didn't have a certain part but no longer. OCZ still warranties their DDR and I have recently RMAed some Kingston PC133. I've had almost 100% failure rate in under a year with Crucial Ballistix.
Other Thoughts: New Egg has super customer service!

Avoid like the plague.
Pros: LEDs are bright enough to read by for those that like that sort of thing.
Cons: absolute trash. I went through three sets of ballistix all 3 pairs died within 6 weeks. do yourself a favor and buy something else.

Pros: Good solid memory, but so is all Crucial memory. Fun to watch the red LEDs.
Cons: None to note.

RMA Completed
Pros: As I posted earlier, I had to RMA my 4 sticks.. I just received them back from RMA.. Crucial has gained my respect as a company that stands by their product, even when it's faulty.. The replacements have passed all tests I've put them through flawlessly.. WOO!!
Cons: After RMA, NONE!! :) Stuff happens.. Sometimes bad stuff gets through Quality Control.. I'm just glad Crucial replaced my memory quickly.. :)
Other Thoughts: Now.. If there were only a way to program the LEDs to dance to the beat of the music I play.. :D

Great Ram But.....
Pros: The ram is exactly as described and is detected at the 4-4-4-12 timings. The heatsinks are aluminum and the Ballistix logo is etched into them.
Cons: The LED's on this specific model number are VERY, VERY bright. If your build contains red LED's in any way, this is for you. For those of you who don't care for the christmas tree look, you can purchase the same ram w/o the LED's. However, the EPP voltage is higher for the non LED model???

Great, while it lasts..
Pros: Looks phenomenal. Great timings for 2GB modules. SLI-Ready detected on the first shot. No major issues on the initial installation.
Cons: In the process of RMA'ing due to constant BSODs after about 2 months of use. Ran Memtest and a slew of other test programs, and every stick failed. These are my first sticks from Crucial, and probably my last unless the RMA process goes VERY smoothly and I have no problems with the new memory. Keepin' my fingers crossed.
Other Thoughts: ASUS Crosshair, AM2 6400+ BE w/ CoolerMaster V8 Heatsink and fan, 8GB (4x2GB) Crucial Ballistix Tracer, 2x MSI 8800GT OC 512MB, BFG Ageia PhysX, Thermaltake ToughPower 850w Modular PSU, CoolerMaster Stacker 832.

Top bin memory for any purpose
Pros: Fast, very fast. Tight timings. Lower than average voltage for top bin memory. Sharp looking LED's and shiny red heat spreaders.
Cons: None thus far
Other Thoughts: I bought this kit as an upgrade from 2x 1GB DDR2-667 Crucial Ballistix. Although I am not running these modules at the full speed (board doesn't support 800), the low voltage requirements allowed me to tighten the timings all the way to 4-3-3-10 at DDR2-667 using the default JEDEC voltage of 1.8v, which has helped speed things up a bit.

Great Memory
Pros: This memory currently is running 4-4-4-12-1T with no problems at 800mhz. That is fast as hell in my book. Had bought because of red color and leds and boy am I impressed. Currently running in Evga 780i Q6600 overclocked to 1600 fsb and with memory linked and synced with no hiccups. Can't go wrong with this memory.
Cons: Max frequency overclock is low in my book but higher frequency means longer clocks so no big issue
Other Thoughts: Crucial backsup ram with lifetime warrenty as long as they are not over voltaged you can't beat that!

Pretty bright red Leds
Pros: Very reasonable price given the current mail in rebate promotion.
Cons: Modules are individually fully sealed blister packed - no quick pop open - you will most likely need scissors - something to plan for before you stand in front of a machine with no tools around.
Other Thoughts: My system went from prior blue glow to almost full red glow now using 4 x 2 GB modules

Awesome for 2 months
Pros: WOW was it fast!!! Installed on my Asus m2n32-sli deluxe wifi edition without issue. Ran extremely fast when it worked. Cool Red LED's lit up the entire inside of my case. Great to watch when your system is running F@H 24/7
Cons: My system started to BSOD after about 2 months. I checked all of the standard items then ran OCZ Memtest86. after 1 hour it clocked 217,000 errors on the ram. I promptly took out the ram and installed some spare Super Talent DDR2-800 which I then tested with OCZ Memtest86 and it completed much faster and without any errors at all. I then started the process of getting the Tracer RMA'd
Other Thoughts: I loved the ram (when it worked) and am hoping that the new sticks that I get don't do the same thing after a couple of weeks-months. I would like to have a stable folding machine with this ram. I was disappointed to read other posts where people had the same problem with the Crucial Ballistix Tracer that I did.
