Pros: Works Perfectly in my G5 mac. Put it in and it recognized it right away. Hope that the Rebate works out.

Cons: Packaging wasn't that great. Shipping also took a lot longer than the TV I ordered on the same day from Newegg.

Other Thoughts: it might not be as fast as some other brands but it brought me up to 3 gigs and that is faster than 1 gig and for half the price I am happy.

Pros: Cheapest 2GB on newegg at the time.

Cons: Ive had problems with my computer restarting. But it only happens when I play World of Warcraft. I used to keep my computer on at all times but now I turn it off at night and during the day. This seemed to keep the problem to a minimum.

Other Thoughts: I'm pretty happy I could upgrade my computer enough to continue playing the games I like with reasonable graphics.

If you don't play games what so ever this ram is probably great.

Pros: Low density (16 chips of 64M X 8) means it works on most boards. HP Compaq, Dell, etc.

Cons: Not low latency.

Rating + 5 Upgrade on Dell 4600


Pros: Very inexpensive, especially with the rebate. Upgraded a old Dell P4 2.4GHz 1GB memory with Vista 32 bit. It ran DOG slow, but after popping in extra 2GB with these sticks (3GB total), it runs acceptably now.

Cons: Rebate had you go online to the WINTEC Rebate center, made you put in all the information including the UPC Code number, but still made you cut Original UPC, print out the rebate form, include a copy of Newegg Invoice and mail it all in, then hope they do not reject it for some reason. You would think after making you input all the info online it would eliminate the need to mail the same in.

Other Thoughts: Since my other pair of 1GB (2x 512 MB) was Dual Channel, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the 2 GB put in kept the whole memory system as Dual Channel. My P4 even still runs at 800 MHz FSB.

Rating + 2 Works but rebate is a scam


Pros: Product works. The three egg deduction is because it cost more than advertised!

Cons: Fourteen weeks after applying for the rebate, and ten weeks after 'approval confirmation' of the rebate, the money still has not arrived. Next time I would buy a different brand, spend a bit more, but know what my real cost is. Wintec is by far the worst company I ever dealt with attempting to collect an advertised rebate.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg should insist on a reasonable response time - say no more than eight weeks - for manufacturers to make payment on advertised rebates. Ultimately, companies that fail to pay on legitimate rebate applications reflect poorly on NewEgg. NewEgg should cease distributing Wintec's products if Wintec can't get their act together.

Pros: Absolutely none.

Cons: I installed this RAM in a system that works normally with 2 x 1GB DDR400 from another brand. Windows immediately bluescreened. Memory tests indicated bad RAM. I RMA'ed the RAM (paying $9 to ship it back with a tracking number), waited for the replacements to be shipped, and the replacements are also DOA. They are being returned.

Other Thoughts: Newegg customer service was amicable and apologetic. They covered the return shipping for the second set of RAM.

Pros: Hynix component chips... nuff said! +1star.

Cons: no heat spreader included. -1 egg. had to change from 166Mhz to 200 in the bios manually, and also set timings manually -1 Egg.

Other Thoughts: I havent stressed this memory enough to validate stability, as I've only had this for one day, but it seems to be fine, and it has Hynix component chips which is a huge plus. I also have not overclocked this memory but i am willing to bet it would be better than the 2 1gb sticks of Corsair value select with the same timings that I already have installed.

Pros: I revived an old 32 bit XP system to run old games. The frigging PC w/ 512 MB memory would boot up to half an hour long. With this two gig memory, the PC now boots within 3 minutes, and can connect to the internet while the anti virus and spyware system is updating.

Cons: It's not much cheaper than DDR2 and DDR3s. Make sure you check your old memories compatibility if you want to add. I had to empty two slots for my old ones that didn't work with this memory. But now I have more space for future upgrade to another 1.5 gig, which I think XP can recognize up to 3.5G.

Other Thoughts: It's a cheap easy way to revive old systems that can be used for simpler task or run non 64 bit compatible games.

Other Thoughts: After installing the memory modules into an older Dell Dimension 300 running 512 megs and then reloading Windows XP, the PC has a new life. When I heard that someone was going to toss the PC in the trash, I asked to give me $50 and a chance. They said it's like a brand new PC. This Pentium 4 PC will be fine for at least a few more years of internet surfing, emails, and music downloading. Newegg somehow got the memory to my door in three days using the free Super Saver shipping service. Fantastic.

Pros: It's 2GB 400MHz of RAM...it works...and it was inexpensive (gotta love rebate & free shipping deals!)

Cons: It doesn't come with a lifetime supply of happy meals?

Other Thoughts: The rebate for this model required an original UPC bar code. There is no bar code label on the packaging, there are just the labels on the individual sticks of RAM...now here is the issue--> The labels say "Warranty Void if Removed". So how do you send an original label for your rebate if you cannot remove the label? Photocopy the label for future necessity and then send the original label! Its all so clear to me now!

Next time, affix a UPC label to the back of the packaging

Pros: Undetermined: memory fit the slots fine.

Cons: Caused memory errors when installed with existing Kingston 512k memory sticks in a Dell Dimension 4600. I don't know if it would have worked without any other memory, but the intent was to upgrade and that could not accomplished.

Cons: One DIMM failed 2 years into ownership. Status of remaining DIMM is unknown as of this writing.

Other Thoughts: I will try and RMA the one DIMM. I do not want to dump more money into a legacy machine.

Pros: Very easy to install, no problems, no DOA's. My system found the new memory instantly and I instantly noticed a speed increase. Now I can run photoshop perfectly fine!

Other Thoughts: This kind of ram is getting really old on the tech. market today. Nothing wrong it at all, it's just that everything is going to DDR3 ram soon. A great add-on to an old PC to keep it running.

Other Thoughts: Replaced one 512MB stick in a Dell Dimension 2400. Along with a new graphics card (GeForce 6200, 256MB) completely revitalized a pathetically slow computer. Even installed Windows Vista (EPIC memory hog) and have only gotten close to full memory on Google Street View. Passed initial testing with flying colors and hasn't given me any trouble since.

Pros: Cheapest price for what I was looking for.

Cons: Caused my Shuttle Sn41G2 to randomly reboot and application crashes. Put in original memory and it worked fine. Tried other BIOS settings but nothing. I don't overclock, so this appears to be bad memory or an incompatibility with my mobo.

Cons: OH where to start. The ram wouldn't post, I thought it might be the board, flashed BIOS still nada. Bought Patriot memory from Com***A, machine came right up.
Figured I'd send back to Newegg for credit and realized this product is replacement only. Who needs more DDR 400.

Other Thoughts: Keep an eye on the return policy on some items, I do work for clients and can't wait to RMA's.
I give this product negative eggs.

Pros: Exactly what I ordered. Decent price. Posted fine.

Other Thoughts: So far so good. I know it's not much to go by, but I'm satisfied. The only drag is that this came via USPS - and that means I had to wait the full 7 days. Why won't the USPS just give up? They always ALWAYS take 2-3 times longer than UPS. I've come to look upon those brown trucks with a gleam and a twinkle in my eyes. No fault to Newegg though! Newegg came through once more.

Pros: This stuff is great. I noticed a difference right from startup. It works great and has been now for almost a month. I am very pleased with this and as usual New egg delivery was fast. If you want a inexpensive upgrade for an older machine this stuff is the way to go.

Pros: Works great with just about any motherboard on the market that uses DDR 400. Overclocks well.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I got this ram when it was still under 45 bucks, but it's great for extending the life of your DDR 1 system. I was a bit surprised at how well the ram overclocked. I got this ram running at 250 MHz and I have had no problems or heat issues.

Pros: after reinstalling my operating system the problem gone away; at least for now. luckyly I didn't lost any data since I put it in another physical drive. though I have to reinstall some application.

Cons: I'm running XP 64bit edition w/2g of ram installed. decided to buy 2g of Wintec and plug it in and bam blue screen appear. when I take it out, windows start but it never get to finish loading it. what a nightmare!!!

Other Thoughts: Bottom Line: I will not be buying budget RAM again. Read on if you really want more info.

Have an old PC that I'm trying to limp along until Windows 7 comes out. Ordered 3 GB of the Wintec memory. 2 GB in this matched pair and 1 GB of the same brand to fill out the 3 slots (yes, dumb to have 3 slots but that's what I had to work with). Virtually identical to this matched pair. None of them would work reliably in my MSI K7N2 Delta mobo from the dark ages. Memory errors and random crashes and reboots abounded.

The matched pair and single GB stick did work in an Abit AN8 SLI board - not mine. No mem errors or instability at all after many days of testing.

This all took a while to figure out after countless configuration and error checking tests and my return policy was over and the best I could've done anyway would have been to get more of the same RAM that didn't work with the MSI. Poor return policy on this really. It prob will work in a newer DDR mobo, but beware

Rating + 1 Keeps going bad


Pros: It's fine if/when it works.

Cons: First set of modules I got were bad on delivery, or soon after. Got replacements from Newegg which worked fine for about 3 months and then failed with major corruption problems. Memtest86 reported hundreds of errors before I stopped the tests! Now I have to RMA these directly to Wintec and hope the next set works and doesn't fail again after a random amount of time. Would rather get a refund.

Other Thoughts: Unacceptable rate of failures. I've built systems for 12+ years and never had this much hassle with RAM modules. I posted a more positive review here on 10/22/2008 which I now regret.

Other reviewers have also reported failures after various amounts of time, but for some reason still rate it high. I will never buy this brand again-- who needs the hassle?

Pros: This is great memory for building your first home base custom pc. Lightening fast. Good warranty. And loads my programs way fast that my previous OCZ overclocked memory.

Cons: Memory States Dual Channel. But when ran my memory test program memory is only single channel. Why False Advertise? when you overclock the memory chips it just restarts windows with out loading. so recommend not to over clock this memory.

Other Thoughts: If youre building your first pc and are running ddr1 you should use this memory. good price and runs really good. 2 gigs of memory is optimal for windows xp pro 32 bit. being for windows to run at optimal you should atleast run 2 gigs of memory total.

Pros: Works immediately in an older HP Pavilion a??? whatever model. (Sorry, but I didn't write down the model # before giving the PC back to the customer.)

Both sticks registered, and (AFAIK) were good.

Cons: If you really want cons, ...

This ram came with nothing other than its package.

I'll tell you that Wintec RAM is generally unable to overclock, but that's not a problem with this specific model, because overclocking old tech like this is not worthwhile... just use it to expand upon or replace RAM in a DDR-333 motherboard.

This RAM seemed to run just fine at DDR-266 speed. This RAM is supposed to run at DDR-333, but the stupid motherboard BIOS had no option to adjust RAM speed.

You can OC Wintec RAM, but you'll need so much voltage that you'll eventually have some fried RAM. This only concerns people who buy Wintec AMPX for newer mobo's and try to overclock it.

Other Thoughts: I did not thoroughly test this RAM with a stability test program.

These modules are plain old DDR RAM. For some reason, the mobo only set this RAM to DDR 266 speed instead of the intended 333 speed. This may be the mobo's limitation, but I thought it was a 333 board.

Whatever--they worked fine to add RAM to the system.

Pros: Inexpencive, and of course as with most all memory plug and play. Allowed me to play some higher grafix games on my older system that was just about ready for the trash heap.

Cons: No heat spreader so wouldn't use on a ULTRA high performance gaming system.
