Rating + 5 Great for a DAP

Pros: Cheap, so far reliable

Cons: Slow write speed, but I expected that.

Other Thoughts: Installed in an iriver H120 (now an H132). Added new life to one of the best DAP ever made. Can't wait for the 64gb cards...

Rating + 4 Seems to work nicely

Pros: Cheapest 32GB I could find. Fast enough for digital cameras. Huge capacity.

Cons: Manufacturer support is a little weak. Be careful with certain digital cameras.

Other Thoughts: Overall this card is great, and massive. It's a little slow for heavy applications, though it's fast enough for digital photography, but once it's full expect to wait a looong time to download your images. Also, be warned, some cameras may have a hard time with cards this big. Specifically, my Canon EOS 20D could not format the card beyond 8GB, and I had to download Paragon Partition Manager to fix the card. Not the card's fault, but something to be aware of should you buy it. Overall, I'd recommend it.

Rating + 3 It's just OK

Pros: Read speed is decent. The price is nice. Quality is good.

Cons: Write speed is SLOOOWWW! (It takes around 10 minutes to copy a 2GB file movie over.) If you plan to use for music and movie files with write once and read many times, it should be OK. If you need this for photos and good write response times, you might consider a speedier card.

Other Thoughts: Overall the best feature is the price. Read speed is decent.

Pros: works as advertised, exceeded all my expectations.

Cons: it's not bigger and faster?

Other Thoughts: this ended up in an iPod mini, works flawlessly, battery lasts longer with this. I absolutely love it and would buy it again.

Pros: Very high storage capacity, light weight

Cons: Slightly lower write speed than the Ipod hard drive I replaced. Storage space is actually 30.2 Gbs not 32 but memory is always like that so Im not really complaining.

Other Thoughts: Very effective as a replacement hard drive for my Ipod video.

Rating + 5 So much room!

Pros: HUGE amount of space. I could take RAW images all day and never worry about filling it. I have yet to delete any pictures from the little guy. It is nice to know that I have a back up of all my favorite pictures on hand.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Put into a Canon EOS Rebel XT.

Rating + 1 It was nice while it still worked

Pros: Inexpensive, large capacity

Cons: Not Reliable. This is the second memory card that I've had to fail after having it for less than a year. The other memory card that failed was a 16 gig AData SDHC card. With the two cards failing after less than a year having the same name brand I must question whether or not I trust this name beand.

Pros: Read 16MB/sec says Vista
Write 8MB/sec says Vista
Best card out there for the price. The price makes this card the very best option!

Cons: Not fast enough to use as SSD, not UDMA, but I knew that, and saved a lotta $$$ getting a "speedy" card vs a very costly "FFFAST" card. So this isn't really a con at all.

Other Thoughts: When testing this card at first, i moved 1 large file onto the card, and then pulled it off. The times were much slower than random read/writes. Weird. I use it in a Canon 50D (15megapixel) which has a HUGE buffer, so speed doesn't matter at all. Read speed does matter, as I'm always in a hurry to download, and clear my cards for more shoots. Altho... i can put so many pics on this card that, that doesn't matter too much. Read is almost always more important than write when using cards in cameras. I will soon be using this card for a Canon 21 Megapixel camera, and it should give me about 850 Raw files. perfect!

Rating + 5 Great Card and Value in this size

Pros: Works well when shooting in my new Canon 50D. I decided size was more important than speed. This card lives up to that desire and it seems speedy enough in camera. I've shot about 200 pics (RAW+JPEG) without any issue. Probably cheaper than buying 16 2GB cards. I've used Adata cards in the past without any issue, so I hope the same remains true with this card.

Cons: Read speeds are a little sluggish at times -- especially if I try to delete files via Windows. Considering the price point, really not a huge deal. Considered going only 4 eggs -- but decided to give it 5 because of price point. I would probably rate it 4.5 eggs or 9 out of 10 if possible.

Other Thoughts: I specifically got this card for the size -- 32MB -- for shooting in RAW or RAW+JPEG. Considering RAW files of 50D are about 20MB and the JPEG is 5MB -- that's about 25MB per shot that gets consumed. I needed something with a LOT of space. At 32GB, I get well over 1000 shots in even RAW+JPEG best quality mode - which rocks.

I was initially concerned about speed, write speeds seem very good in my camera. Download/delete seem a little slow.

With CF, speed demands a higher price. If you need a faster card -- pay the extra $$$ to get it (or compromise on size). For my general style of photography, this is more than adequate. I won't worry about Adata vs "name brand". I've used Adata brand CF cards in the past without any problems, so I have high hopes for this card.

Rating + 5 Awesome Price! Quick too!

Pros: Vista shows write speed (one 700MB file) at just over 8MB/sec. This is very good for the speed. Works great in my 15-megapixel Canon 50D, giving me 1300 full res RAW files (at ISO 1,000)! Perfect for my wedding shoots.

Cons: Vista also shows a read speed of about 9/MB/sec. It started out reading the one large 700mb file at 14/MB/sec, so maybe it would to better with a lot of smaller files, but of course not too small, maybe 5MB files. Read speed is far more important to me than write speed, as when out i'm shooting, even sports (which are shot in jpeg) i never have issues with *any* card not writing fast enough. It's when I want to download at my studio or clear a card at a shoot, that makes READ speed must more important. Since this is a 32GB, I won't be needing to clear a card off at a shoot, so I won't knock an egg, but I wish it was faster and downloading. I'm also not knocking it an egg because it's the cheapest 32GB card, if I wanted faster, I should've paid for a faster (which doesn't mean better) one.

Other Thoughts: Takes about 1 hour to fill it up, and about 50 mins to clear it off, using large 500-700MB files (movies). This is using a sandisk extreme card reader, which is pretty much the fastest card reader out there for USB, and faster than what the card and read/write, and it was saving to my backup 1TB drive which wasn't in use at the time of the speed test. I love how Vista shows actual transfer speeds in MB/sec. :)

Rating + 5 Outstanding convenience

Pros: Huge capacity

Cons: Slow: took over three hours to transfer 8 Gb of music and over two hours to transfer 5 Gb of audio books from laptop to CF in a PCMCIA adapter.

Other Thoughts: I got this CF 3 months ago from Newegg for over $100. Now it is under $70. As soon as it goes down to fifty, I’ll buy another one as a spare in case of accident!
True, it’s very slow to transfer from laptop to CF, but this card lets me have 25 gigs of music, audio books and films (very small size once encoded to PPC format with Windows Media Encoder) plus 5 gigs of all my personal files in mi pocket thanks to my HP IPAQ 2415. This means, many Word files (my two published French books plus the Spanish translation and hundreds of other files) dozens of Excel files (all my students’ scores since 1988!) and Pocket Access files (addresses, hotels, restaurants, etc.) miscellaneous PDF, old diaries since 1988, encyclopedias, English, French, Spanish and German dictionaries, E-books in English, French and Spanish, plus a selection of photos and scanned documents!
A whole library, discotheque and much more in my pocket!
As for the 64 Gb CF, I’ll wait until it sells for under $100.

Rating + 5 Great product for iPod Mini upgrade

Pros: Popped this into my iPod mini to replace the defective 4GB Microdrive and works like a champ. I was able to flash the iPod firmware and transfer songs right away.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Great upgrade if you still have the old iPod's with the Microdrive. Saves on your battery and you get more memory.

Rating + 4 Good product

Pros: Very good product, I have this and a 16GB SDHC card in my X51v and shows up as 30GB and 15GB.

Cons: 133x or 20Mb/sec write speed may be a little slow for some applications.

Other Thoughts: I just ordered an Acer one netbook with XP and the 120gb hard drive, thinking about getting a 2.5 sata to CF adapter and using this as a cheap ssd, maybe I'll give the old drive to my nephew for his PS3 and setup YDLinux for him..

Pros: It's fast and it's cheap. What else does it need? Nothing!

Cons: Not an only con!

Rating + 5 Perfect for my specific needs

Pros: Write speed is still fast enough for my DAP to record audio perfectly to it! Great capacity for a portable media.

Cons: Occasionally, my PC will think that there is not enough room on the card when there is, but I'm not sure if that's the fault of the card or the device it's attached to. Also, the write speed from the PC isn't all that stellar, but I don't expect it from today's solid state media.

Other Thoughts: I've been using this for the same purpose as Lsportline43 - replacing a mp3 player's hard drive with this CF card. It's held up well as an external PC drive, too.

Rating + 5 Huge Storage for Digital Photo Frame

Pros: Largest capacity flash memory I could find. Got this as a storage solution for a 15" Pandigital digital photo frame I bought for Mother's Day. This way she can basically put an unlimited number of pictures on the frame. Worked easily out of the carton.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: With flash memory at these capacities/prices (although this is a CF card so not directly comparable), ipods seem to be getting more and more overpriced.

Rating + 5 Works Great

Pros: High Capacity (about 30 GB in my Ipod mini). Fast seek time.

Cons: Not really a major con but it took a couple hours to transfer all the music. It is 30 GB of data so of course it would take a while.

Other Thoughts: It was easy enough to replace the HD in my IPod mini, there are many on-line guides. I have noticed that seeking for songs goes faster. When I push next, I don't have to wait for the IPod to spin up the HD and load the next song.

Rating + 5 A Real Treat

Pros: I bought this card to replaced the failed 60gb HD in my 5g iPod Video. I used this card in combination with the iFlash adapter and now I have a 32gb SSD video iPod. I could literally kick my iPod (in its case) repeatedly across a field and it would not break due to it now being completely solid-state (I filled in the empty space with non-conductive foam). A GREAT PURCHASE!!!

Cons: Only a 40x card so transferring songs and data goes at about 6mb/sec. Read speed is great, tho.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely consider buying this card if you have a broken 5g, 5.5g, or mini iPod. You wont see a significant increase in battery life when listening to music because the iPod is made to aggressively avoid HD spin-ups to conserve power, but when watching video your battery will now last much longer (as will listening to uncompressed music).

Rating + 5 So far, So good

Pros: This card works on my Dell Axim x50v. All 32 gigs. I now carry my entire music library plus 25 feature films from my movie library. Speed is not an issue as the card is still faster than the IO for the Axim. No skips or jitters when listening to music or watching movies. The price for this much space is great.

Cons: Can't think of any cons other than the fear of this card going bad with so much on it. Backup is on my harddrive!

Other Thoughts: This card probably wouldn't be a good choice for action photography. I have faster cards for my Canon. But for studio work with RAW images, you can certainly fit a lot on here. But for now it stays in my Axim.

Rating + 5 Replaced my 20 GB Toshiba drive...

Pros: Replaced my 1.8" Toshiba 20 gb drive in my iRiver iHP-120. Quicker load times when switching songs. Very easy to complete the installation of the CF card inside the iRiver.

Cons: You have to use the Rockbox firmware which could be confusing if you are not up to date with the Rockbox news. The iRiver firmware will not boot with the CF card.

Other Thoughts: The A-Data is a great card for this modification to my iRiver iHP-120. It has increased my data capacity by 12 gb and it is a solid state device. So that means better battery life for my iRiver because the fact that there's no need to power a spinning motor. (for HDD) I cannot wait until they release the 64 gb Compact Flash cards. That would really make it worth it to upgrade for iHP-120 owners.

Rating + 5 Gives Old MP3 Players New Life

Pros: Purchased to use in my Rio Karma as a replacement for its failing hard drive. Used an alby-tech 1.8" hitachi adapter for a plug and play solution. Great price and storage; the Karma is back and better than ever.

Cons: Very slow transfer speed.

Other Thoughts: The slow transfer speed is irrelevant for usage in an mp3 player, which is where I imagine this card will see most of its usage. Once the tracks are loaded, the response is instant.

Rating + 5 Great for an iPod mini!

Pros: Wonderful product for an iPod mini as it will allow tons of music and longer battery life. Hard to beat the convenience! and it makes a nice 'conversation' piece!

Cons: Just slow to load, as was the 16 GB CF from a-data as well. Doesn't bother the playing, though, at all.

Other Thoughts: I have upgraded a few minis to 8, 16 and now 32 GB. Can't wait to experiment with a 64 GB card when they are available and the price drops a little! This card has dropped in price quite a bit since I purchased it.

Pros: Expanded my 1st generation iPod mini from 4gb to 32gb (30gb usable)

Cons: File transfer is a touch slow (about 5 seconds per song). Filling the whole thing with music takes a few hours.

Other Thoughts: It was surprisingly easy to drop this in my aging iPod mini to expand it's capacity. I also got a new battery from ipodjuice.com (who also supplies really good tools and instructions on how to open it up). After sealing it back up, iTunes automatically reformats and reinitializes the drive.

Rating + 5 Start up Voltage limits

Pros: This CF speed rating is at about 40x
and holds firm at that speed. This
CF Card volt rating does draw about 75ma This is important as some CF cards seem not to work in devices and all it is , is the device can not supply enough MA to start the CF Card. This 32g Adata is low power and that is key. Streams Video Just fine at 30 fps 320x240 xvid read just fine in multi CF Readers its a Fat32 was able to get 6 seasons of voyager at 320x240 2184bitrate
using xvid.

Cons: I paid for a 40x i get a 40x and thats ok

Other Thoughts: soon Faster 32gig card will fall in price But leave it to A-Data to pop up First Cant wait till the 64gig card shows up.

Cons: *Slower transfer than Scandisk extreme III.

Other Thoughts: I also own a Dell Axim x51v with the Football WM6 OS. This card has answered my prayers. No longer will I be fumbling through a pile of miscellaneous cards to find the one with my music on it. The card is fully compatible, and no problems with the Football WM6 OS. Pros: Cheap Price! HUGE amounts of space!

Cons: None thus far.

Other Thoughts: For my purposes, this is awesome. I have a Dell Axim x51v (like reviewer above) but I'm still on the stock WM5 from Dell. Worked without issue. My intention is to load this thing up w/music (using Core Media Player of corse), and my kids movies (re-encoding them w/the free PocketDivXEncoder). I’ll dump a few dozen re-encoded movies, and every game I can get my hands on! Games I’ve already loaded (Call of Duty 2, Warcraft, Machines of War) all load as well as on my SD card. - I’ve already got a few re-encoded movies and it plays no problem, no skips, RW and FF is really smooth. Copying files from my 4GB SD card isn’t winning any marathons, but who cares, it’s 32 GIG!!

Rating + 5 Works with Axim X51v

Pros: Largest available storage. Works.

Cons: Won't do my ironing. A little slow. Not familiar with this brand.

Other Thoughts: I'm using it with a Dell Axim X51v running the Football WM6 ROM. Formats as 30 gig available storage. Isn't quite as fast as the more expensive high speed cards like the ExtremeIII, but it's not so slow that it causes problems with video playback or is a nuisance during file transfers.
