Pros: it is fast RAM and good value Cons: -according to PC wizard- its not PC3-10666, its PC3-8500 and running under 1100Mhz Other Thoughts: none Manufacturer Response:Hello, this memory is rated at 1333mhz. The SPD may be set at 1066mhz for compatibility, or you system may be electing to run at the lower speeds (don't have access to the data ATM). PC Wizard is simply reporting the present RAM speed. Snoracr1 Tech Level: average Ownership: 1 day to 1 week	2/16/2009 6:38:11 PM DOA - Enough Said Pros: Let me think !! None !!! Cons: DOA. Swapped sticks around and realized I had one bad stick. Jumped through hoops to mail both sticks back to OCZ. Now, I have no memory at all for a fresh built quad system. Then, I called there three times in about two weeks to push this through. OCZ is out of stock on Gold, they are sending me two sticks of platinum. However, they have different cas latencies. They did explain that I have to set the voltages in the bios prior to installing these. Fed up. Buying sticks of another brand and selling whatever they send me. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry that you are having problems. This Gold memory has printing on the stickers that state that the correct voltage is 1.7v, and that should have been set in your BIOS prior to testing. The Platinum memory requires 1.8v. The platinum memory we are sending you is an upgrade. The lower latencies increase performance and require the slight bump in voltage. Rated timings are 9-9-9, but can actually be run at 6-6-5-18, PL=6 @ 1.87V. Currently running 4x1G on X48 chipset on a divider running RAM at rated 1333 speed. Running at 96% read bandwidth. For the price, because timings can tightened, these dimms are a very good deal. Cons: Do not expect much more than 1333 speed. Not overclocking RAM. Pros: IF you are anything like me, and you obsess over others customer reviews before you buy something, look no further! This ram is EXCELLENT! I bought this a few weeks ago for my new build (the intel D45SG motherboard only takes DDR3 ram) I'm also using the intel q9300 quad core processor, 550 watt thermaltake power supply, seagate barracudda 500 gb 32 mb cache hard drive, all chillin in the antec 900 case. I recommend this build for anyone. I was scared at first that the ram's voltage is 1.7v instead of the standard 1.5, but it was not a problem at all. The only problem I encountered was that I did not have the proccessor seated correctly, which cause the machine to turn on without a display. Obviously, this was not a problem with the ram, but simply user error :). Cons: I read a review on this page where the guy said the only con was that he didn't buy 4 gb of ram, only 2.... This is TRUE! Especially because the price I bought it at I believe is even cheaper than what it is now! People have complained about not getting their mail in rebates, I haven't received mine yet, but it's only been a couple weeks so I am not really expecting to get that dough for a while yet! Other Thoughts: Haven't overclocked the little beasts yet, and when I get around to it I will post more later. Also, if I ever receive my rebate I'll let ya'll know! Did you find this review helpful? With a good OC'ing board you can get the timings lower, and make these perform like the platinum series memory. Cons: Not so much a con as a ? I bought 2 packs of these one came labled as 1066, and the other 1333, but both of them have the same part numbers, OCZ had an error with the lables, so no worries about what you get! Other Thoughts: Well my thoughts, If you buy a product from a great place like newegg, where they have a very good RMA department why would you go though the MFG for your RMA? Easy installation. Cons: WOW where to start?! OK so first, one of the sticks in the package was DOA, which is fun to find out! Second, the RMA process was extremely painful because I could never just e-mail an OCZ rep. Third, (this is the best part) after finally getting an RMA number, (like 5 days) I sent my one dead stick into OCZ using UPS 3 day, and you know what happened next? I didn't get anything back!!!! That's right, OCZ just hung me out to dry! Other Thoughts: I'm really angry that my entire computer is relying on only one freakin gig of ram. It's kind of slow and im afraid of all this weight it's bearing. Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry that you are having support issues. Higher CAS than platinum version, but you aren't paying platinum price so it's fair. Other Thoughts: Always check your settings in BIOS.
