Rating + 2 Shiny..but....

Pros: Looks Nice - good price, and does run at its stated speed of 1600.......BUT

Cons: my E**A P55 mobo defaults it to 1067. when I set the target speed at 1600, it bumps the timings to 11,11,11,30 something
I noticed the voltage was at 1.5, so I bumped that up to the 1.7 recommended. 7,7,7,24 wouldn't boot. 8,8,8,28 booted, passed 2 hrs of memtest, but immediately failed BurnTest and Prime95. 9,9,9,36 also failed, and seems to be stable at 11,11,11,30 something.

Other Thoughts: Saw some peeps had problems getting the 1.9v version. The stickers on my RAM say it is the 1.7v, so I am hesitant to try cranking up the voltages to see if they are incorrect. Guess I will pick up some RAM at the store today and send these back for refund. Don't want to wait a week or so to replacement RAM which is likely (by the reviews) to be sub-optimal as well.
Built 3 rigs over the past 2 years with no problems - but my last few sets of memory from NewEgg have been faulty (2 by Mus**in and now these)

Rating + 1 Follow Up

Pros: It's SHINY!

Cons: OCZ was kind enough to post a response to my last review stating it would be better to run the 1.9v kit at 1.8v. That might be true if the kit actually RAN at 1.8v. In fact, the 1.9v kit is ONLY stable at 1.9v and the 1.7v kit is ONLY stable at 1.7v, which makes the kits incompatible. Why OCZ would change a critical spec like voltage without changing the part number is bizarre. This whole mess is not really NewEgg's fault...they see the same part number and assume compatibility.

Other Thoughts: Tech Support through the OCZ forums is a FARCE. I have attempted to use their forums to resolve this issue, but OCZ people post rarely and sporadically. As it sits, it's been 8 days since any OCZ rep posted in the sub-forum I'm posting in (OCZ Memory Support And Motherboard Tuning Forum > Support and Tuning for Intel System > Other Motherboard Section). Frankly, I think OCZ techs post more HERE than on their own forums.
Manufacturer Response:Hello, we would like to assist you with getting 2 kits that match so they can be easily run together. Please visit the link below and create a support ticket. Explain the situation and we will be happy to help. We have resolved the issue with missed forum posts, and we apologize for the delay in answering you.

Rating + 4 Not bad, but probably won't buy again

Pros: Ah...hmm...It's not really a 'pro' that it mostly does what it's supposed to...It IS shiny...It's relatively inexpensive, comparatively. I will say this: OCZ tech support has been VERY helpful--easy to get a hold of, no long waits on hold, and their techs speak nice, clear English with a California surfer accent. Dude.

Cons: Not mad at OCZ, but I got a bad stick. I suppose it had to happen sometime...I probably done 20 builds without ever gettin bad RAM. NewEgg was beyond excellent in handling the RMA, BUT--and it's a big BUT--OCZ changed the voltage on these sticks between my first order and the RMA. Same part number, same timing, but the old stuff runs at 1.9v and the new sticks are 1.7. I had stability issues at 1.7, so now I'm running at 1.8 and so far, so good. However, the tech DID say it would reduce the lifespan of the 1.7v sticks.

Other Thoughts: I suppose it's unreasonable...could have happened with ANY brand, but my gut instinct is to go back to GSkill for future builds.
Manufacturer Response:Hello, the running 1.8v on this kit will actually be better than running 1.9v on the first kit, as far as longevity goes. I believe there was a misunderstanding, as our tech did not mean to state that this kit will be less reliable.
Thank you

Rating + 2 Good not great

Pros: OCZ overall has provided me with excellent value for top performance. This memory is working well clocked at 1066 not so much when clocked at the claimed 1600.

Cons: This memory caused bsod in Windows 7 and just freezes in Windows XP Pro when clocked at 1600 in my MSI NF7 50-G55 motherboard. I have no other board to test it in, but have never had an issue with MSI boards and OCZ memory in the past.

Other Thoughts: I'm thinking I should bought a different model number or maybe a different brand of memory to get the performance I wanted. Right now I can't have my system down for the time it would take to RMA this to OCZ so I'll settle for the underclock stability. I don't feel the price warrants the actually performance.
Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry that you are having issues running rated speeds. Please visit our support forums at the link below and post for assistance. We will be happy to help with settings.

Rating + 1 3 for 12 (Update on 1 for 8)

Pros: DDR3, high speed, low latency. This memory performed pretty well when it worked.

Cons: *See 1 for 8*

Only 1 good stick in my first 8 and only 2 good sticks in my last 4.

After waiting a few more weeks and fighting their tech support, my latest 2 sets arrived (sticks 9-12). Of these 4 sticks, 1 will not post, 1 BSODs and shows errors in memtest and 2 come out clean in memtest. That brings my total to 3 good sticks out of 12 total.

I have tested all 4 stick (individually) multiple times and every time the results are the same. I've also tried the bad sticks at more forgiving speeds and timings to no avail. I should also say that I do have two more sticks of Corsair that work just fine in my system.

Honestly, I understand that things can go wrong. However, not only have they passed the normal rate, they have also passed the fluke rate. Given this, you'd think that maybe they would be apologetic and would rush to fix my issue ASAP. Nope. The last time I had to fight with them for a week just to get an RMA#. Then I had to pay for shipping and wait two more weeks.

Other Thoughts: There are other companies that I have liked better after RMAing one of their products because of how well they responded. It really makes a difference when you know for sure that a company will support their product and will do whatever they can to help you.

Both I and everyone I know will never buy anything from OCZ again based on how poorly their performance has been.

If you are thinking of buying this memory ask yourself, 'Do you feel lucky?'

Well do you?

Pros: Fast ram/looks awesome/low profile. Gets a 7.5 rating in Windows 7 just from stock speeds.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've used OCZ twice when building two computers. I had never heard of them but a friend suggested them to me after a more widely known brand showed up bad(Brand hint: front page of newegg). My old sticks are going strong, and I hope these are just as good.

Rating + 5 Understanding rating

Pros: This RAM is and always has been stable at "Auto" settings.

Cons: I do not understand why this memory scores higher benchmark results at 1333MHz are higher for me than when the RAM is at 1600MHz and the timings were both at 7-7-7-30 (I currently run them at 1333)
MemTest83+ showed some bad memory at certain clock speeds, but then showed no errors at other clock speeds. --> maybe this shows my ignorance about RAM

Other Thoughts: The "Auto" settings are for 1033MHz. Please go to the manufacture's website. It will explain everything that people dis about this RAM.

Rating + 2 1 for 8

Pros: DDR3, high speed, low latency. This memory performed pretty well when it worked.

Cons: After about 8 months, 3 out of 4 sticks showed errors in memtest, but I could at least still get into windows. I had to RMA all 4 sticks because they are sold in sets. 2 weeks latter when I finally got 4 new sticks, 3 of the 4 showed errors in memtest, the 4th wouldn't even post, and I couldn't get into windows. The replacement mem was WORSE!!

Other Thoughts: I bought the first two sets separate from each other.

Now I have to wait another 2 weeks because OCZ won't put a rush on my new bad mem despite being 1 for 8. Maybe I just got unlucky twice (technically 4 times because 4 sets), but it's enough for me to not trust OCZ anymore. You'd also think that after just screwing up a 2nd time (badly) they might say something other than "fill out a ticket".

Rating + 3 Maybe Ram, Maybe Mobo

Pros: It's DDR3! can't complain about that!

Cons: These may not work at the rated speeds on every motherboard.

Other Thoughts: I spoke with both Asus and OCZ (my memory manufacturer) and pretty much both of them blamed the other for the system not running stable at the rated 1600mhz that they both claimed their products were capable of doing. I have given up the quest, not because I believe it is impossible, but I don't think it will be worth the trouble to make it happen, and I'm not getting any help from either company. The board runs at a steady 1600mhz and the ram is running at 1333mhz which is fine, but I did expect better when I was ordering the parts. By-the-way, I am using Asus P5P43TD Pro which I got from Newegg as well.

Rating + 3 Pay for what you get

Pros: Cheap. So far runs fine on my system, have not changed any settings in Bios. Don't know too much about memory but think it's running at 1033.

Cons: The memory doesn't run as advertised when the motherboard is set to "AUTO". Also, I can't find this particular model being sold outside of a kit. (I wanted to buy 3 and run in Triple Channel, as I bought the 2-kit for a deal). I have seen other posts stating that the memory is unstable if you try to set it to it's correct setting 1600.

Other Thoughts: Later I will try and post a CPU-Z screen-shot of the memory.
Wasn't too happy about the "bait-in-switch" since I'm not running at what is advertised, but the price compensated for that. Don't know if I would shop OCZ if they continue to release unstable memory which doesn't properly function at what it's suppose to run at.
Manufacturer Response:Hello, this memory is programmed at lower "safe" speed, due to the fact that not some motherboards may not boot straight away at 1600mhz. This has become common practice as speeds have increased. We will be happy to assist you with settings to get you running at rated speeds. Please visit our support forums and post in the memory section.

Rating + 5 Works great. Good OC ability.

Pros: Runs well at stock 1600 7-7-7-24 timings @ 1.9V. Overclocked to 1750 7-7-7-24. Make sure you set the voltage to 1.9V. These chips will NOT run stable at 1.5 or 1.65V (default on most BIOS's) at the 7 timings. Your system will BSOD. Very attractive silver heatspreaders.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Running on a Core i7 860 system, Gigabyte GB-P55-UD3R motherboard, Corsair 650W CMPSU-650TX PSU, Nvidia 9600GT with an Antec 300 Illusion case.

Rating + 5 Excellent as always

Pros: Like all OCZ memory it works right out of the package. Comes stocked with the JEDEC 1333 standard to ensure compatibility. I left it at 1333 and tightened the timings up to 6-6-6-24 which gets performance to 1600 7-7-7-21 levels. Given a bit more time I am sure I can refine them down even more. I got this to go with my new ASUS Crosshair III Formula to replace my ASUS M3A78-T and 8gb OCZ Gold DDR2 800 and have a noticeable performance increase. Unlike most other manufacturers, the heatsinks are actually not gigantic so it easily does not interfere with CPU coolers.

Cons: Price really, at over a hundred bucks one would think they use real platinum in the heatsink. Will wait to order another 4gb when the price drops to around $50 either through MIR or Newegg sale. No case badge, so it's another home made badge for me.

Other Thoughts: OCZ has always seemed to work the best with ASUS motherboards when it comes to overclocking. Crucial and G.SKILL are good too, but they can be a bit more picky, and don't have the EVP.

Rating + 1 Never again!

Pros: They look nice.

Cons: System worked great with auto settings for about 4 months then post showed one of my sticks dropped out. CPU-Z shows that stick running at 8MHz (which it's not). I was told by their tech support that I had to manually set the timings, they didn't care about the fact that it ran fine for 4 months. After two weeks of conversation (runaround) I finally gave up. I've never had a component manufacturer insist so hard that I should be happy with a product that doesn't perform as I expect.
I guess I will stick with Corsair and Crucial in the future. Always had fine tech support. I will not buy OCZ again!

Manufacturer Response:Hello,we are sorry for the problem. We try to work with our customers to get them running properly, but will never deny an RMA for a bad part. Please fill out a new support ticket and tell support that the CS rep at Newegg sent you and OK'ed an immediate RMA. You will be taken care of.

Pros: Nice fast ram, pretty heat spreaders.

Cons: Had trouble getting rated speed with my DFI LP JR Motherboard. Really, 1.9V is way beyond the DDR3 specifications, the idea being to achieve high speeds with less that 1.7V. Still fast, not much real difference between 1333 and 1600 in actual use.

Pros: 8G of these are playing nicely on my Asus M4A79T Deluxe and AMD X4 955 @ 1333, 2.0v and stock timings. I didn't try 1600 because I was not willing to sacrifice memory efficiency for faster FSB, but I'm sure they'll run fine... 1600FSB is more of a board ability than memory. Stable as a rock. They're low profile and do not get in the way of large HSF. Relatively cool as well. Have no regrets.

Cons: None, so far.

Other Thoughts: I'm a loyal Mushkin fan, but since our company VAR did not carry the brand I tried these after playing around with DDR31800 Corsair and DDR32000 Patriot. These modules seems to be matching the above combo.

Pros: Well this memory is stable at 1333 and I did get it to run at 1600 by changing the Voltage settings manually however there is a question as to how long it will remain stable at 1600. Over all it does work and it is seamless but it may be overrated.

Cons: Looking at CPU-Z shows that these memory modules are rated to max out at 667 MHz (1333) apparently the quality is good enough to have OCZ sell them as 762 MHz (1600) memory but for how long before they get overheated and start to give errors.
I will continue to monitor this but I have to give OCZ (My favorite memory vendor) a 4 star on this.

Other Thoughts: Running this on Asus M4A78T-E with AMD Phenom II X3 710, 4 Gb of the above mentioned memory and PNY 8800 GTX and yes I got my memory from Newegg.

Pros: This ram is fast, It's DDR3, it goes up to 1600 and its cheap. BUY THIS RAM.

Cons: There are no cons... Just extremely fast and cheap ram

Other Thoughts: I can only get it to 1333 but I'm running an AMD system thats why. I can boot and run it at 1600... just not stable :)

Rating + 5 BUY THIS RAM

Pros: I can run it at 1600 at 6-6-6-17 at 1333 I can get it to 5-5-5-15 that's pretty tight for DDR-3 AND I saw another review for OCZ RAM that was negative and had a manufacturer response that said "No OCZ customer is ever out their purchase price, as all of our memory has a lifetime warranty." Oh and these have "Extended Voltage Protection" or something like that basically they'll honor the warranty even if you were running this 1.65v memory at 1.95v great company......

Cons: it wasn't free..... I don't know none I guess

Rating + 5 Fast and stable

Pros: With my system (am3), which actually performs best at 1333 with tight timings and boosted northbridge, I have been happy with these sticks. I am running them at 1333, 6-6-6-24 1T at 1.6 voltage. Northbridge at 2800.

Cons: No problems yet.

Other Thoughts: I'd like to get these to 5-5-5-24 but no go so far, oh well, I'll keep tweaking.

Rating + 4 Good stuff

Pros: This memory DOES run at the advertised speeds. However, you must set the speeds manually in the bios. Make sure you turn the voltage up to the recommended 1.95.

Cons: I had a little system instability running at 1600, but I am almost positive it was due to me having the memory slightly undervolted (It was at 1.93, or something).

Other Thoughts: I decided to run this at 1333 because I feel it will be a more stable system and I don't need to crank the voltage up nearly as much (a small increase will allow it to run stably at this speed). I'm going to see if I can get the clock speeds down a hair, but I doubt it.

Rating + 4 so so

Pros: This ram is moderately fast and very stable at 1333 Mhz with 7-7-7-24 timings

Cons: Like most DDR3 ram this ram has to be manually set to the appropriate timings. I have an asus M4A78T-E and an amd 720 phenom X3. At first i was unable to clock even at 1333 so i did some research. After setting the NB clock frequency to 2600mhz i was able to clock stable at 1333 with specified timings but still unable to reach 1600 Mhz with the 7-7-7-24 timings. I am not sure if those timings are just too tight for the AMD platform or if the memory is the root of the problem.

Other Thoughts: It took me about 5 hours to get everything stable and running optimized and I still haven't been able to clock at 1600 Mhz so i have given up for now. I'm not dissatisfied enough to ship the ram back. When i asked OCZ tech support for help they told me to try raising the timings at 1600 mhz to achieve a stable overclock and never even mentioned anything about setting the clock for the Northbridge. I am happy with my new rig i used my HD4870 from my last rig which was an aging opteron 175 based setup and raised my 3dmark 06 score from about 5000 to 15,500.

Cons: doesn't work at 1600 as ADVERTISED!!!!!

Rating + 4 Good Stuff, but only at CL 7

Pros: Great price and incredible performance at 1600 mhz. Just make sure you double check and manually set voltage and CL for best performance and stability!

Cons: Had to set CL 8 instead of CL 7 to get this to run stable at 1600 mhz.

Other Thoughts: My system: 3.2 Ghz Phenom 2, MSI 790GX Mobo, 640GB WD Black, 2 x 1 TB WD Green, 2400 Radeon Pro, and 650 watt Antec Green power supply.

The issue of CL7 v. CL8 doesn't change that this RAM is fast and great for the price. As per most OCZ performance RAM it is necessary to manually set voltage and CL as most mainboards will not recognise the RAM at its proper speed, timing, or voltage. This is something I find consistently whether using Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, or any of the usual mainstream motherboard brands.

Pros: Worked right out of the box with one setting change in my bios (multiplier)

Cons: Don't notice any speed benefit from DDR3 in general despite the slight increase in price over DDR2.

Heat spreaders seem cheesy, not sure how effective they are but they sure don't look like they have a, as OCZ puts it, micro convection.

Other Thoughts: I did no tests on temp, power consumption or bench marks but I notice no benefit to PC312800 over my previous system which had DDR21066.

Rating + 2 Good Ram

Pros: Great ram, I would give it 1 egg but I dont want to harm the ram that much. It workes great in my board. Never had a problem with OCZ or their ram

Cons: Newegg, I had this ram and motherboard ordered last night at a lower price but I entered my name on my card wrong so the card got declined. Wake up this morning and the price on both my motherboard and ram jumped up and the only way to reorder was to purchase at the higher price and there was nothing they could do about it.

Other Thoughts: I have been faithful to newegg for years with my components. I knew that when I had deadlines to meet Newegg would deliver working parts on time. When you quote a client on a price (working from prices of the order you placed etc) and then you need to tell the client it is actually going to cost more.

Im sorry newegg but your prices are still pretty good on the said products but I will not provie my exclusive business to a company that does not help you out. That is why I shop Newegg, I thought they would be there to help you out when stuff like this happenes.

Most of my business will go elsewhere from now on because there is a lot of competition in the computing industry and I can find better.

Pros: So I bought at shiny new i7 system with an x58 board before I understood that it needs TRIPLE channel memory and not DUAL channel memory. Some how, the system *kind* of worked with it installed, but crashed frequently. Called OCZ for support and they informed me that I was in fact an idiot and purchased the wrong RAM. Unbelievably, they offered to RMA this dual channel set for the correct triple channel model. Fantastic support, will definitely keep using OCZ in the future.

Cons: Maybe clearly marking the difference in chipset compatibility for "research challenged" folks like me. Otherwise, none. Good stuff.

Rating + 4 Works fine on 790i ultra sli

Pros: O'clocked to 1900 mhz on evga 790i ultra sli (8-8-8-23-2T). On rare occassions IE locks up, wether this is a memory/Microsoft/nvidia thing... I don't know. It's stable on all sorts of benchmarks... OCCT and others at 1900 mhz. What more can you ask for.

Cons: It took some serious time to find stable timings at 1900 mhz, but if your building your own system that's half the fun.

Other Thoughts: When I first booted with them I believe I had to manually set their manufactured timings in bios. If you're buying memory and installing it yourself you should be able to do this. I paid around 300 dollars for this kit a year ago.

Rating + 3 A day late and $40 short

Pros: Solid memory, good bandwidth, works nicely with my Asus P6T board and an i7 920 chip. Overclocked the BIOS to get it to run at 1600Mhz and it's still perfectly stable.

Cons: CAS timings are not 7-7-7-24, more like 9-9-9-24, but not a big issue. What annoys me the most is the stupid mail in rebates - I was two days late with mine (over the Christmas rush) and OCZ promptly rejected it. MIRs are stupid. OCZ - if you can sell the RAM at $40 cheaper than advertised, just do it - don't use silly rebate schemes to sucker customers.

Other Thoughts: Check your board's compatibility before buying. Oh, and make sure you send in the rebate literally the instant you receive the shipment, or you could find yourself being cheated out of $40 by OCZ. Or just buy RAM from a different manufacturer who doesn't use silly rebate schemes to artificially lower the price of their product.
Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry that you missed your rebate deadline. Rebates have rules, and unfortunately when they are not met a claim will be rejected. Offering the memory at the same discount is not possible, since this would be below cost. We will however help anyone that feels that they have been rejected without cause and will see that all valid rebates are paid. Our internal rebate staff can be contacted at rebates@ocztechnology.com .

Rating + 4 Good memory, great price

Pros: This is high performance memory, but you need to know what its limits are. I purchase 8GB to help with memory intensive applications such as Adobe CS3. The trade off is I do not get as high of a speed as most gamers like to see but that is Ok with me since I am not a gamer although my son really likes the results when he plays games. I am happy with it running at 1200MHz. I recommend checking out the OCZ support forum before purchasing to make sure you are getting the right product for your system. I have no stability problems at all and recommend OCZ to anyone out there.

Cons: Not really a con but the memory gets hot so I orders the OCZ memory cooler and based on user postings that should help cool down the memory. I will post results under the OCZ memory cooler review once it comes in.

Other Thoughts: You will have to make adjustments and tweaks if you want to get max performance, but that is the fun of building your own PC.

Rating + 1 Doesn't work with P5Q3 mob

Pros: At the time I bought the memory it was a good buy (Oct. 2008) for the perforumance.

Cons: This memory set does not work well with motherboard Asus P5Q3 LGA 775. At first the computer would just lock up/ Freeze up and the only way to unlock it would hit the power button. After a few attempts on my own to fix the problem i decided to call a computer tech. Even the computer tech had many problems with the memory set freezing up. He even called the manufactor about this issue and their response that their memory set doesn't work well in that perticuler mob. (go figure its too late to return the memory set for a full refund)

The only way this memory set will work on this board is to slow the speed way down. The computer tech had to slow the speed down to 1066mhz to become stable. It has worked for 4 months at these slower speeds until recenlty.

Other Thoughts: Last week I got the blue screen of death. Long behold one of the memory sticks was bad. I am now in the process of returning the memory stick as I type this.

I will add another comment to this post once i get another memory set back from the manufactor and test it out on my computer.

Caution to buyer: DO NOT buy this memory set for this motherboard.
Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry that you have had problems. It is true that your board has many issues. Loading the latest BIOS is very important, so we suggest doing that. Rating + 2 Doesn't work with EVGA 790i F.T.W w/digital PWM board

Pros: Cheap. Looks cool.

Cons: Running this RAM with an EVGA 790i F.T.W digital board @ 1600 Mhz 1.9v 7-7-7-24 ( correct settings as per MFG ) was good for only 2 months, then it went bad. RMA'd it and got the new sticks, now system only runs stable at 1333 mhz, unstable at 1600 mhz. It is not even on the mobos QVL, so be careful. If you have this board, go for the G.SKILL F3-12800CL7D-4GBP1.

Other Thoughts: More mad at myself for not checking the QVL. Might be good RAM on a compatible board. 2 eggs because 1.9v is high, and mobo compatibility is extremely limited.

Rating + 4 7-6-6-20 @ 800MHz

Pros: Mine actually runs 7-6-6-20, 1.8V @ 800Mhz even though lableled 7-7-7. Got it when it was less than a saw buck after rebate. For some reason I am now able to run the buss on my EP35C-DS3R up to 560MHz stable. Before using the DDR2 1150 OCZ Platinum, I was able to run only 525.

Cons: Doesn't want to OC at all at 7-7-7 timings. It will at looser timings but what's the use. Won't do 900MHz at 9-9-9 as I had hoped. Had a bear of a time getting my system to post after ugrading from the DDR2. I finally tried only one stick and got it to boot.

Other Thoughts: This ram tops out at 500MHz buss @ 5:8 ratio and 533MHz buss @ 2:3 ratio. Perfect for my E8400. Running right now 3.73GHz @ 2133 FSB on my Gigabyte EP35C-DS3R cooled by a Sunbeam Core Contact 120 running at only 1000rpm.

I gained about 500MB/s throughput in memtest 86+ v2.01 vs. the OCZ Platinum 2x1GB DDR2 1150 @ 1200 @ 5-5-5-15-42 it replaced. Only 250MB/s advantage @ 7-7-7-20. Might do better if I mess with the alpha timings.

To the earlier poster stating that cpu-z says in the spd tab that the max bandwidth is 667MHz, mine says the same. That's just something OCZ does for some reason. My DDR2 1150 was very understated in the same way. And the timings table doesn't mean squat when you push close the the max safe voltage.

Rating + 5 No complaints here

Pros: I built my machine in September of 08 with 4 gigs of this and couldn't help myself in getting 4 more gigs at under $100 with rebate. Never had a problem with the original 4 running at 7-7-7-20. Put in the new sticks and had stability issues. Set the timings to 7-7-7-24 and changed voltage from 1.54v to 1.9v. Worked like a charm. Haven't had a single crash yet after playing some TF2 and an entire campaign on L4D.

Cons: I did have to override the auto settings but whatever. It took about 15 minutes to research and about 15 seconds to change.

Other Thoughts: I know they say you can't have these set to an FSB of 1600 but does it really matter when your CPU only has a FSB of 1333? I'm not into overclocking, I'll take stability and day of the week. My Adobe Apps load up very quick as well, Photoshop CS3 loads fully in about 1.5 seconds.

Pros: works with asus p5e3 deluxe wifi edition, all i had to do was change timings dram voltage and bandwidth and i was good to go no errors in memtest86, no bsod. seems like people are having trouble with x48 and some other chipsets, makes me glad i went with the x38 seems like it is rock solid.

price 150-50mail in rebate getting as cheap as 9-9-9-24 1333mhz

Cons: Im getting some mixed messages with cpuz, the bios say they are running correctly are 7-7-7-24 1600mhz pc12800, and so does cpuz on the memory tab but on the spd tab where you go through your dimm slots one by one it is saying the memory is pc3-10700f max bandwidth 667mhz. I am not sure if this is my board fault or the rams or cpuz but it makes me wonder weather i am really getting what i paid for. are these stick overclocked or is it the fact that ive overclocked my board and it is lying to the os. manufacture seems to be watching review close so maybe i will get an answer

Other Thoughts: asus p5e3 deluxe wifi edition, intel 9450, 4gigs of this ram, 2 western digital 500gigs in raid 0, vista home premium 64bit, and some other stuff.

Pros: It seems to be good memory, if it would work with my Asus P5Q3

Cons: It isn't made to run on the Asus P5Q3 at 1600mhz. It would cause the machine to lockup all the time. I wish I could find a new board to put them in but it's a pain to do the research and find something that will allow it.

Pros: Price is getting near reasonable levels. Good speed, works at rated levels. Low profile heat spreaders

Cons: Memtest is reporting errors on 2 out of the 3 tests ive ran. Havent had any issues in 4-5 hours of gaming so far though....ill have to test it longer to see if its really an issue or not. Runs somewhat hot.

Other Thoughts: I use a 790i Ultra. You will have to enter the timings in yourself for this ram to work properlym so remember to enter the BIOS right away. That isnt a huge issue. I run my ram unlinked, linking and syncing DDR3 is a waste IMHO. I run this ram at 2:1 ratio with a mildly overclocked E8600.

Pros: fast, great price, nice looking.. works flawlessly.

Cons: TO THOSE WHO OWN THE EVGA 790i FTVV DIGITAL PWM MOBO- you will get the BSOD and not be able to install windows vista ultimate 64-bit unless you change the ram timing in the bios to 7-7-7-20 AND the voltage to 1.9v ( unlinked and unsynced)!!!! the 7-7-7-24 on this website is a typo... not a con, but a warning..

Other Thoughts: awesome ram.. just figured I'd give you guys the heads up for vista ultimate 64 bit

Rating + 4 Great DDR3!

Pros: Lower latency, 1600mhz, quality fast ram, very stable.

Cons: It wouldn't boot out of box, due to being defaulted at 1.5 volts, so i put my old ram in, booted, changed the voltage to 1.9, saved and exited, turned off pc, installed the 4GB of OCZ, it booted perfectly, adjusted to 1600mhz, and set the timings, and it's running flawless.

Other Thoughts: Might buy another 4GB soon.

Pros: Wonderful ram. You really get the full potential in a 64bit operating system. Fast and efficient.

Pros: looks good

Cons: didn't work well with the striker II extreme mobo from asus

Other Thoughts: I know it works well with other mobo's. I didn't look at the QVL's for the S2E and had a lot of tweeking before I sent this mem back for a different brand. OCZ is a good brand and haven't had probs before, but it didn't work with the S2E mobo. Just make sure to look at both OCZ and your mobo's QVL lists before buying either.

Pros: One stick of it ran vista 64 bit ultimate great and even ran crysis with high settings(got a little choppy at parts).

Cons: One stick was dead, so I didn't get the full effect, had to send them back.

Other Thoughts: Specs: GA-X48T-DQ6, Q9300, SAPPHIRE RADEON 4870 512MB. Wish I could have played crysis with both sticks, had to get some patriot from a near fry.s to hold me over until I can get some corsair dominators.

Rating + 4 I'm impressed

Pros: Looking at other DDR3, this set has a good mix of size, price, speed and timings. Bought it for 250 with a rebate. You could pay double for 4 gigs of 1600 MHz 6 timings. Good form, stays cool even with 1.8 or 1.9 volts. Can probably overclock to 2000Mhz without much trouble, but I'm not going there anytime soon.

Cons: Price is considerably higher than DDR2. Currently stable 8 7 7 24, at 1.875 Volts, 1600 MHz, not quite advertised, but I need to do more testing. 2 out of 4 sticks I tested could not boot Windows by themselves, Newegg customer service replaced and I am running the 4 Gigs I originally bought with no extra charge. Do not be scared if a stick does not work, just do some tests and then call Newegg customer service.

Other Thoughts: Although this is my first build, I did a lot of reaserch to find good components that work together. XFX 790i motherboard, 8400 Intel dualcore, 9800 GX2. You WILL have to Overclock the 790i if you want to get what you paid for in this memory. Luckily, this was really simple. On another note, Vista 64bit SP1 told me that it already had the patch to run all 4 Gigs. I only installed with one stick, but it may be safe with SP1 to intall with both.

Rating + 5 Cannot Praise OCZ Support enough

Pros: fast and stable memory when the settings are all right. This is great memory when you get it set right!

Cons: None that are OCZ's fault. Just technology issues, this is new tech, there isn't a lot of flexibility in settings, and some motherboards don't plug and play. Be prepared to do your homework and don't be afraid to set your values in bios properly.

Other Thoughts: Pay attention to the settings, and the advice with one stick on Vista64 until ALL updates are in. This is not OCZ fault that they are at the mercy of the motherboard and OS manufacturers. Update your bios right away with any 790i board, 1600Mhz is only stable on the latest bios, I got that much right. If you are buying 8GB (2 sets of 2) for a 790i board hold off until someone has viable settings for your motherboard, still working with OCZ support for memory and EVGA support for the motherboard. OCZ support has been EXTREMELY helpful, I have 4Gb running and validated all settings every way, every slot on the motherboard, so everything is working, just not at 8GB - yet. If someone has the settings post them, or give them to OCZ support to help someone else. If we get this working, I'll post the 8gb solution at OCZ forums (avoid any nVidia forums if you want/need 8gb settings - they will ridicule you for trying 8gb - OCZ will try to help you).

Pros: Initially purchased 4GB of this RAM for my EVGA 790I SLI Ultra. I applied the marked settings and it worked great. I decided that I needed another 4GB for my Photoshop usage. I couldn't get it to work so I contacted OCZ support and they went to extraordinary lengths to duplicate my problem and then solve it. The 8GB now works very well and I am now an OCZ fan. These guys are great.

Cons: Requires a little extra effort, as anything good usually does.

Rating + 5 Tricky but Great Ram!!!

Pros: Some of the guys saying it wont work with the EVGA 790i mobo dont know what they are talking about. I have all brand new stuff including the 790i and it works fine (now). The catch is this ram is only 1600 and the mobo is 1800-2000. I put it all together and it made the adjustment automatically on the first bootup and ran at 1800. This ram can handle those speeds just fine! This ram is smokin fast! ...O ya, and Vista64 installed just fine with all 4Gb for me. They probably just put the ram in the wrong slots...? Read you mobo book for the DIMM slot# info.

Cons: IMPORTANT - 790i motherboard users! This is great ram for that motherboard but just remember and learn from my troubles. It would randomly hang regardless of what i was doing. What i didn't realize at first is that when it bumps it up to 1800 automatically, you still need to manually bump up the VOLTAGE! This will fix all the problems you may experience that are ram related. Normally it runs 1.500V and I slightly increased to 1.550V and had NO MORE PROBLEMS.

Other Thoughts: I waited a month after i fixed this problem to write this review, so i can say for sure that i fixed the problem. Remember, overclocking=heat! The OCZTXTCC Memory Cooler fans snap on easy and work great. Pretty cheap too. It was a nice little addition. Cool blue lights. It didn't "need" it but i highly recommend it just to make sure.

Pros: Installed in my EVGA 790i Ultra SLI DDR3 ATX Intel Motherboard. It auto detected the memory. Any problems I've had were Vista Bugs, not the fault of the 4 gigs that I bought.

Cons: Didn't boot with Vista 64 bit with 4 gigs.

If you try to install, do it with 2 gigs, then install the patches, then install your second stick.

Other Thoughts: The forum is useful for installation tips.

Rating + 1 Didn't work, 3 RMAs

Pros: It's DDR3, if you can get it to work.

Cons: Could not get it to work on my eVGA 790i Ultra SLI.
You are required to manually enter in timings on this ram.
This ram will not boot as soon as you put it in your PC, you MUST edit bios, and even then, no guarentee.

Customer Support takes a very long time to reply to threads on forums, and when they do, aren't very thorough (At least not when I posted that I needed help on Thursday)

I had to RMA this multiple times and no go. Changing to Corsair next week.
Must overclock to get to 1600, defaults to 1333

Other Thoughts: Pretty much summed it up

Rating + 4 So performance...great Newegg service

Pros: OCs good if it doesn't have problem. Runs like it should if you know how to the settings.

Cons: Ran ok at first...it began developing instability like a month into use. Couldn't run at default (with vdimm setting at 1.9V). Tried it both manual and Auto. Found it had some memory errors with Memtest. Filed for RMA with Newegg. New set came in and is having one error with Memtest from the get-go already (manual settings). I ran my system using another brand and it runs perfectly fine (whether using manual or auto settings). Don't want to waste more time with it. Selling it as I am typing.

Other Thoughts: This memory kit isn't the best from OCZ. It's a hit and miss. Take a chance if you want to. With OCZ's lifetime warranty, you can't go wrong if you can play with RMA hassle.

Pros: price to performance ratio is good, heatspreaders look nice and are attached firmly.OCZ support is usually helpful and timely.

Cons: Bought 8 gigs,1 4 gig set was defective and the other set will not run at rated speeds on my intel DX48BT2 Board.Defaults to 7-7-7-20 1.5v@1333mhz.(Luckily it posted for me)I manually set the voltage to 1.9 and runs fine. However when manually setting this memory to 7-7-7-24 1.9v @1600 mhz it will either hang up at windows boot or fail to post altogether.Loosened timings to 8-8-8-26 and works ok most of the time.Still get random application crashes once in awhile.

Other Thoughts: I,ve used OCZ exclusively in my last 4 builds and never had a problem with them b4,hope this is just a fluke.

Pros: It's rated to run at a screaming 1600 MHz and 7-7-7-24 timings. Good heatsinks built onto the modules. Even though my modules wouldnt run 1600, they are still alot faster than my old DDR2 800 modules.

Cons: It doesnt run at the rated times. Starts out running at 1333 MHz and can only be pushed so far before it wont overclock anymore. I just wanted 1600, I was not try to overclock further than that but windows would blue screen when I pushed it past 1450 MHz.

Other Thoughts: It could just be my modules or maybe I still need to tweak some settings in the BIOS some more. Im sure I'll get it there eventully but if you have never dealt with memory overclocking before or you arent familiar with your motherboard's BIOS, then you probably will not enjoy trying to get this memory to run at the rated speeds.
Manufacturer Response:Hello, depending on your CPU's FSB and motherboard/BIOS, this memory (or any 1600mhz memory) may require manual settings to achieve rated speeds, as you have found. Overclocking to achieve rated memory speeds may not be a simple process, and your components must be capable. With a 1600mhz CPU and suitable motherboard, this memory will run native at 1600mhz. Rating + 1 Not buying OCZ again

Pros: Looks good, fast, price

Cons: 1 stick was defective, ram settings (voltage, timings etc) were not detected automatically and had to be manually set (intel dx48bt2 motherboard). PC was stable with stick 1, unstable with stick 2 (constant BSOD, could not even get into windows usually) and unstable with sticks 1 and 2 together (random BSOD, sometimes 5 minutes after boot, sometimes hours after boot)

Other Thoughts: Although I'm sure this is not par for the course for OCZ, this is the first and last time I order their ram
Manufacturer Response:Hello, 1600mhz memory will only be supported by default with a 1600mhz FSB CPU; with a 1333mhz FSB CPU, the max you will see by default is 1333mhz. With a 1333mhz FSB CPU, 1600mhz memory will not be "plug and play", but normally can be achieved with manual settings. Rating + 2 Do not buy with 790i board!

Pros: The ram is fine once you get it working, after a lot of adjustments and HUGE issues with 790i. I am sure the ram is great, just not with a 790i.

Cons: 1. NO EPP profile recognized with 790i
2. AS a result the voltage default is 1.5 NOT going to work! You are lucky if you can get into the bios after you load the defaults.
3. Defaults to 1333, and 7-7-7-24-1t 1.5 volts. This will lock up your system in a heart beat.

I cannot believe that this ram settings can't be detected properly by the motherboard, sure you can figure out what those are and set them manually, but once you are overclocking and things go very wrong, you have to reload defaults, forget to reset something to what it should be, there you have it. Really is just not acceptable at this price point.

Other Thoughts: Go with RAM that is 790i friendly, Corsair, Mushkin are a few. I knew I was taking a chance when I got this, but it was cheaper so now I get to pay a restocking fee, but well worth it to have a 2k+ dollar system run as it should, ON DEFAULTS!

Did I mention if you don't set just about EVERYTHING manually the board will start going psycho? Like I said luck if you can even post the bios after a cmos rest.
Manufacturer Response:Hello, you did not state what CPU you are running and what FSB it is designed to run at. 1600mhz memory will only be supported by default with a 1600mhz FSB CPU, so unless you have one, the max you will see by default is 1333mhz. This is likely why your system is detecting the memory at 1333mhz. With a 1333mhz FSB CPU, 1600mhz memory will not be "plug and play", but normally can be achieved with manual settings. Please visit our support forums at the link below and we will be glad to help you with BIOS settings to get you to the rated speed.

Pros: This was my first computer build, so I wanted foolproof components that worked as advertised, and OCZ didn't let me down. Just slotted into the mainboard and it started without any problems. When I the switched FSB to 1600, it went to 9-9-9 timings and it was trivial to switch to 7-7-7 timings in the bios. Running Prime95 for 6 hours yielded no errors and I was a happy camper.

Cons: Price for DDR3 as a whole, though with mail-in rebate, it is tolerable :-)

Rating + 4 Glad I stuck with it

Pros: Price, performace... Although my first set had a bad stick in it...I still rate this memory high because after I received my RMA back from NEWEGG my RAM is lightning fast!!! They also run very cool...(temp wise)

Cons: First set arrived from NEWEGG and I had several problems (blue screens, crash with studdering audio in Crysis and other odd problems). After troubleshooting, I found one stick bad and RMA'd the whole set.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg has the easiest most user friendly RMA system I have ever had to use. I usually get very upset at even the hint of RMA'ing a product, but NewEgg's process is so quick...I am happy. I sent this RAM back per directions on the RMA email and received my new RAM less than 10 days later. Considering I live in Japan with an FPO address...that is super fast!!!!

Pros: After finding one of the sticks to be bad i was able to install vista with only one of the 2gig sticks in. Updated my rig and installed AoC. Ran AoC with only 1 2gig stick wonderfully. Can't wait to get them both in and running.

Cons: Bought the 2 2gig stick pack and one stick was DoA. Sadly i had to send both sticks back to get a new set so the computer is just sitting right now. But that is understandable.

Other Thoughts: Last ram purchased was a run of the mill 2 1gig ddr2 set up. So of course this nuked that when i took the bubble wrap off it. Hopefully when the new pack comes in i won't have any other issues.

Pros: Works very well in a new gaming system build (see other thoughts for components.) Total gaming experience/performance is at or exceeds the levels I'd hoped for. I was tempted to go with one of the more well known names out there, but decided to give OCZ a try and I'm not disappointed.

Rating + 5 No problems with 790i

Pros: I built my system using these, and was able to install vista 64 with all 4 gb (2x2 gb kit) on a 790i board... the only issue (and it is of no fault of OCZ) is they are very picky about volts, they run fine on 1.85 and 1.9 on my board. Very good ram, infact my mom was due for a ram upgrade and I went with OCZ for hers as well due to the good experience with these.

Cons: I guess they are on the expensive side... but being new tech, DDR3 what do you expect.

Other Thoughts: I had an issue with the automated rebate process, (not accepted), but a live support agent fixed for me within 2 days via email, so I am happy with that as well.

I think I will stick with OCZ going forward until they do me wrong.

Rating + 5 Gangster

Pros: Gangster is really not the word to describe this. Rather mob figga, or boss of bosses. This ram runs sucka-free, complains to noone, and does its job without thinking twice.

Cons: the cas timing. 6-6-6-17 (i think thats what I got)

Other Thoughts: Regardless of the slower cas timing, it still runs dank. Dank = good. 4gb fully detected DDR3 on vista x64. The only thing is getting the voltage and optimal timing (which I'm not exactly sure how to do). Other than that, there's also the 12800mb bandwidth, running at 1600mhz considering the settings are correct.

Rating + 3 Okay Ram

Pros: Price (Came with a free OCZ 4GB Thumb Drive - Fast)

Cons: Not stable at rated specs... (Setup - Asus P5E3 Deluxe w/ Qx9770 @ 4Ghz)... Had to adjust timing to 9-9-9-24 / 1600 - 1.9v w/ NB set at 1.57v... Runs Hot....

Other Thoughts: From all the problems im hearing about with ocz memory it seems they bin the memory too tight, maybe at 1625 or so, which means on some boards itll work, on some it wont, cause the mem clocks different on every board.
Manufacturer Response:Hello, please visit our support forums at the link below for assistance with settings. We should be able to get you to rated speeds.

Rating + 4 Quality RAM

Pros: This DDR3 RAM runs at high speed out of the box. The heat
spreaders are narrow enough to let enough air flow through.
This memory runs at 1.5 V and never gets overheated.

Cons: "Postmark date does not fall within program dates." that's what OCZ email said at 5/23/2008 and still a week left to
go with their promotion. I feel mocked about OCZ rebate
and it's $40 of rebate they denied to send me.

Other Thoughts: Core Duo 2 E8400 @3Ghz, 4 Gb Ocz DDR3 RAM, BFG 9800 GTX, 300 Gb WD velociraptor HD, Killer NiC M1 network card
Windows XP 64 bit, ASUS Maximus Extreme motherboard
ASUS Xonar DX audio card and all over water cooling system.
Manufacturer Response:Hello, we sincerely apologize, as it appears that the rebate house has made an error. It is important to us that all qualified customers that desire a rebate to receive one. Please visit our support forums at the link below and post in our rebate section for assistance.

Rating + 5 Amazing memory

Pros: This ram is amazing. I just use it with Evga 790sli ultra and QX6850 chip it works perfectly with Vista 64 bit. I have no problems at all and the system is very stable. I use 7-7-7-24 and 2T, 1.9v and got 1600Mhz.

Cons: This is the first time I use OCZ product and especially memory. I definitely buy it again to upgrade to 8gb.
