awesome!
Pros: cool, quiet, great storage for its price
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: I bought this drive to replace my old pata main drive. I love this thing, huge capacity, nice and cool, good transfer times. I did notice an increase in how things loaded and responded compared to my old drive. I havent had a single issue with this drive yet.

Reading Noises
Pros: Good customer support for exchanging my drive.
Cons: Replacement drive still making noise when accessing memory. I'm trying a different operating system now to see if that's that cause of the problem (win 7 to XP). I was getting boot problems like mrg missing and cannot find operating system. I don't think HDD's are supposed to be this noisy.
Other Thoughts: Got 596 GB and not 640 GB. I know memory development isn't an exact science... I would've like to have that extra 44 gigs.

I have been using the 640 Black for quite some time and IMO it has no flaws... I just recieved 2 of them for a RAID0 config and it is working just fine... Not sure what you are doing wrong....

Pleasantly Quiet
Pros: I was really surprised by how quiet this drive was. I haven't bought a WD Black product before. This is quieter than anything else I own. 5.9 in Windows Experience Index.
Cons: My Seagate drive is a bit thinner which facilitates better airflow in my case, but this isn't a big deal to me.
Other Thoughts: It holds all the HD "Mad Men" and "House MD" I've got with plenty of room to spare, making me pretty happy.

Fast, cheap, good
Pros: Works great, really fast
Cons: kinda pricy, no raid support apprently.
Other Thoughts: i wish i had gotten the 1TB version for $25 more.

Pleasantly Surprised!
Pros: This drive is FAST, stable and quiet.
Cons: None so far... but I am keeping a watchful eye... lol
Other Thoughts: I have had one other Western Digital hard drive in my life and that was a 40GB Caviar back in 2002. It crashed bad and I lost everything. From then on, I had been a devout Seagate customer. However, after reading all the reviews of several sites, including here, I decided to give it a go. Especially, since it seemed that WD and Seagate have switched places in quality and longevity. So far so good

Plenty of space!

RAID support
Pros: Fast, cheap, good size
Cons: I'm surprised I didn't see a review like the ones I'm seeing everywhere else that has this drive. This drive cannot be used in RAID if it has the newer firmware on it (released sometime in late 2009) . I'm not sure if the ones being shipped have the newer firmware, but I'm not sure it's worth risking

Quiet, fast and reliable.
Pros: Outstanding drives. No issues with multiple O/S'es.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Very pleased with these drives so far and as yet, have had no issues.
