Is There anything else
Pros: I've used Seagate drives in my last 4 builds. 2 x 120GB, 2 x 320GB, 2 x 500GB and now 2 x 1TB. I've not had one of these drives go bad yet (knock on wood)! I also use Seagate drives on the computers at work (not sure how many drives), never a bad drive! As far as I'm concerned, Seagate has a great track record. With hard drives the packaging and shipping had a lot to do with whether or not it goes bad. Thanks for the great shipping job Newegg and UPS!
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Before the Seagate 120GB drives I always used WD. All of the sudden I started having bad drives with WD (new and old). All of my Seagate drives are still working to date.

Lemon
Pros: Was fast while it worked.
Cons: Turned the PC off last night and today the drive was not recognized. Tried different SATA cables and ports. BIOS says nothing is there. Been using Seagate over every other drive for years. This one died 2 wks after the limited 30 day return.

Died in 2.5 months
Pros: Was a great drive while it lasted
Cons: Lost all of my data. Most is backed up but recent work is all gone
Other Thoughts: Wish I had read other comments on the web. Many people are having to RMA this drive.

Failed in 3 months
Pros: Drive is very quiet, especially when it fails and is unplugged. Drive seemed to perform well until it failed--fast, but terribly unreliable.
Cons: I purchased this drive along with a Netgear ReadyNAS Duo, which came with an identical drive in October 2008. Early in January 2009, the drive that came with the ReadyNAS began throwing SMART Errors - bad sectors. On January 29 2009, this drive failed completely not even responding on the SATA channel, causing the ReadyNAS to lock up until I removed the drive. After removal of this drive, the ReadyNAS came back up and is functioning on the redundant drive. The redundant drive has thrown a few SMART errors in recent days as well, and I will be replacing both drives with units from other manufacturers.

Great drive.
Pros: Standard drive. Used it to replace a faulty one in my iMac. Speedy, relatively quiet.
Cons: None so far.

Huge data and cheap
Pros: Its great, very fast, easy to install, and very very quite (maybe its because the CPU cooler plus all the fans made my comp a air con..)
Cons: I took off an whole egg because once in a while and some times playing a game it would make a skipping noise and severe lag will come and go away after 2 seconds...happens less often every day so we'll see.

Drive works
Pros: Does what is is supposed to.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Purchased while still offering 5 yr warranty. Now drives only have 3 yr warranty. Bummer. Now I will no longer purposely seek out Seagate...

Nice set up.
Pros: Quiet, fast, responsive
Cons: none so far
Other Thoughts: I bought 2 of this drives a few months ago and they work great. I use them with 2 BlacX docking stations and they match perfectly. I use them with the eSATA ports in my G5 and after taking the jumper blocks off I've noticed improvement in performance. I did what the guy (Mogambo) above recommended and it worked great. For the money, you can go wrong with them.

Numerous issues with multiple drives
Pros: Great price, very good RMA policy through both newegg and Seagate.
Cons: We've bought multiples of these drives for various clients and we have had 6 of them fail on us within the last month. I don't know if we just purchased out of a bad batch, but we are no longer going to make this our standard 1TB drive purchase.
Other Thoughts: Seagate's RMA policy is good and we've never received a defective drive from their certified replacements.

So far so good
Pros: 2nd month 24/7 still running well. Raided 2 for Raid 0 performance.
All is well.
Cons: Need open area on PC cases to mount HD's. Would make good coffee mug warmer.
Other Thoughts: Me likey. Why do they ship with the 1.5 jumpers on? Any of the problem cases try putting the jumper back on????
