Rating + 4 Wait.. Before you buy!

Pros: first of all its Wacom, a great brand indeed! second, its pretty cheap I payed $78 for this and now its 70. Its pretty thin, not heavy at all, and super portable. Pretty great for a first time tablet, works fine and dandy even when you just plug it in, but its safer to install the plugins from the CD you get, just saying. *Read Other thoughts*

Cons: Pretty small active area that takes adjusting to, nothing big. Pen is "sketchy" to say the least. LOL. Pen holder is small, and kinda feels cheap. Oh! Smudges, cant even begin to describe it. Its pretty bad. If you have oily hands or something, you'll most likely leave a mark. & If you're like me, with your keyboard and monitor in front of you, you might have to move the keyboard to make room for this, so small desks; BEWARE!

Other Thoughts: I'm uber mad at the fact that, I bought this for around > $80, and now its $70?? what the heck? Hold on, it gets better! 2-3 months later, Wacom releases a newer tablet, costs about $100 and has finger-touch & Pen capabilities, oh em gee-dude! i'm thinking about selling this to my friend so i can get the new one. hehe

Wait till you have enough for that $100 bamboo touch and pen, you'll thank me later! Seriously!

Rating + 5 Great for me

Pros: User-friendly, easy setup, price, quality.
Great for the hobbist or someone looking for an entry-level tablet. Wacom makes awesome stuff and for this price you can't beat the quality.
As always Newegg shipped very fast.

Cons: size and average pressure sensitivity, but that was expected so not really a con to me.

Other Thoughts: Not really for professional use, this thing is great for me as a hobbist, and it functions very well, I just feel that at a higher level the size and average sensitivity wouldn't be enough.

Rating + 5 Great Product, Well Made

Pros: As far as tablets go this one is well designed and has a lot of nice features for a very reasonable price. I'm a Web Designer and also do a lot of Graphic Design and this has definitely made my life easier. I've wanted to make the jump to a tablet for a while, but the price has always been an issue. When I saw this I thought it would be a great first jump for me into the technology.

I like that the four buttons on the pad and the two on the pen can be reprogrammed to whatever keystrokes I want; making my own shortcuts has really increased my work flow. I can do a lot of work without even using my keyboard. The Zoom and Scroll features on the circular part of the tablet are nice too; again this makes things flow faster. There is also an eraser on the end of the pen which is a pretty cool idea. A lot of design programs like Photoshop come with special features for tablets so it's been fun learning all the new design tricks you can perform with the pen.

Cons: The pad is a bit small for me, but I use two monitors and it still works well. It takes a bit to get used to the sensitivity of the pen tip but after a little practice I'm really getting the hang of everything.

Other Thoughts: Overall this is a great product. It performs great, it's made well and even looks nice. If you're looking to take the first steps in designing with a tablet this is a great introduction. My work looks better and I'm getting it done a lot faster. Now that I've used this I'm confident in upgrading to a full Intuos tablet.

Rating + 5 Great entry level tablet

Pros: Looks great. Plug n play. Good size. Comes with pen. No problems.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: If you are interested in buying a tablet, have never used one, or just aren't sure if you'd use it much, this is it. This is perfect, the price is great and the quality is of course, high. Wacom is the industry standard and even their entry level shows it.

Rating + 5 perfect for small home business

Pros: The Wacom Bamboo is quite affordable and just as capable as it's more expensive counterparts at doing exactly what it is designed for. Solid construction (though I still wouldn't recommend dropping it) and convenient size does not take up a lot of valuable desktop real estate. Programmable button come it hand.

Cons: Windows Vista and 7 both recognize the tablet and install generic drivers. However, to get the full functionality of the table isntall the drivers from Wacom. The generic drivers do not enable the programable buttons or configure the size of the tablet surface in relation to your screen size.

Other Thoughts: I have a home based photography business, and was looking for an inexpensive tablet that would work with Photoshop to allow me to edit digital images. The Wacom Bamboo works perfectly. I had read reviews that the more expensive, but similarly sized Bamboo Fun which comes with a mouse shipped with a cheap mouse. I didn't really want a mouse, so chose this model instead. I have absolutely no regrets about that decision. The Bamboo has sped up my image editing so much quicker than using my laser mouse, and is much more precise. I'd buy this item again in a second!

Rating + 4 Fantastic

Pros: Solid, accurate, easy to use.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: This is a fantastic product. I have not used other digital tablets so I have nothing to compare it to. However, it is very slick looking and works very well. It even works with the latest Ubuntu right out of the box. If you need a bigger bad this may not work for you but I can't imagine not being able to do everything you need to on this.

Pros: Great for using as a mouse and doing handwriting in windows vista and 7.

Cons: Pen seems like it would be easy to loose. Handwriting in office you have to buy software

Other Thoughts: I have nothing to do with photography. I did not buy it with that in mind. I bought it to hand written notes and it works perfectly windows 7 the word recognition software works great. I have extremely messy handwriting and it gets every word i write perfectly.

Rating + 5 Great Tablet!

Pros: A great product, does everything you want it to. I'm not a professional artist, but I understand what is needed to get your work done. This has worked perfectly for me. I have drew a couple of pictures on it and the pressure sensing is fabulous! I haven't had any errors so far.

Cons: In vista it can be a bit delayed...

Pros: Price, Quality, Ease of use, Performance. Overall, very good product.

Cons: None I can think of

Other Thoughts: This is my first tablet and I am very pleased. This tablet does what you think it would and does a good job at it. I originally thought the drawing surface was a bit small but when you actually use it, its pretty big.

Rating + 5 Pretty well done

Pros: The tablet itself is basically all it promises. Small, effective, cheap, and comes with buttons and functions you can end up using a lot in an average computer session, plus it looks good and it's practical, especially cause I don't have to restrict to wires or batteries. Plus the tablet is the best you can get for a low income budget or just for people who don't have that much experience in tablets and are looking for a nice way to start, also extremely easy to install... well done Wacom.

Cons: Pressure levels not being at max like a few other tablets of it's kind. Tablet looks pretty fragile so you are best known to treat it like your child. Drop it, and it goes kablammo easier than a RAZR cellphone upon floor impact :P.

Other Thoughts: I'll probably buy a bigger tablet in the near future, but in the meanwhile, this is a pretty darn good device.

Rating + 5 Buy it. Now.

Pros: This is my first tablet and I already love it after two days. I'm already imagining the possibilities. If you're a freelance or student graphic designer on a budget, get this thing now. The price alone makes it worth it, and this particular model is getting harder to find. It's bigger and more professional looking than the Bamboo Fun yet cheaper than the very similar Intuos 3. I can find no real faults.

Cons: Like others have mentioned, this thing isn't just like drawing on paper. It's somewhere between that and using a mouse. It's more sensitive than pen/paper and requires a steady hand for smooth lines. Not a fault of the tablet, just something you have to get used to.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have compatable software for this thing to reach its full potential. Readily interacts with many Vista/Office programs. Photoshop loves it too, I was making realistic sketches in no time.

Rating + 4 Good stuff

Pros: LEDS not too bright. Nice to keep in your lap. Pen fits in your mouth too if you do that. I haven't used a professional one before, but this works just great, not too big not too small. buttons on top feel sturdy. If you're used to drawing on notebook paper or printing paper, its a perfect size!

Cons: The pen sometimes scratches the tablet. The wheel is strange, and it randomly disconnects. Not a big problem, just reconnect it.

Other Thoughts: Very sturdy. Its actually quite kidproof. I haven't had anyone sit on it, but there have been spills and drops on the floor, along with youth style drawing of course. The cons happened before children were using it, not as a result of.
Like to draw? Buy it. Just know that buying it won't make you good, its still as hard as ever, its different than drawing on paper. I taped a piece of paper on the active area, its still not the same but close enough.

Rating + 5 Wacom's Wonderful Tablet

Pros: An excellent tablet for the casual and semi-professional graphic artists and anyone who wants a tablet, really. Very easy to get used to, very sleek, and a good size to work with.

Cons: I would love a wireless version of this tablet, but the cord isn't that big a deal.

Rating + 5 My mouse is getting pretty dusty!

Pros: Has totally replaced my mouse since the first day of use. I was expecting some kind of learning-curve, but instead I found it to be about a hundred times more natural and intuitive to use than any mouse. I would recommend it to anybody, not just graphic-artists, as an all-around good input device. Navigation and file management are much more fun with this thing. I have installed the software on windows and mac no problems there. Plays nice with CS4, and Adobe ships with some pretty cool brush presets made specifically for Wacom tablets.

Cons: Be careful with the pen! It is an electronic device, so it doesn't take too kindly to being dropped (on the concrete garage floor, more than once). My cat hates the amount of attention I give this thing so he likes to knock the pen over! Fortunately, replacements are inexpensive and Wacom has fast shipping. This might not be a valid "con" since I don't think a mouse would like that kind of abuse either. More of an FYI.

Other Thoughts: Resolution and pressure sensitivity are very usable for some pretty cool effects, but I am looking forward to upgrading to an intuos 4 and seeing what that's like.

Pros: Upgraded from an older wacom to the newer bamboo- slightly larger size is nice, but not really necessary, didnt come with the mouse, which was useless anyway, and the pen is great, as usual. Loaded automatically into both Windows7 and XP, no drivers needed. Works fantastically with Illustrator CS, and CS4! New removable USB cable is great, no more winding it around the tablet when travelling!

Cons: none that I can see.

Pros: This is the best deal Ive had in ages. Dont know how they sell something of this quality at this price. How much easier it is to edit in photo and graphics programs, and to draw. Its a mouse with right and left click, and scroll.Plus 4 assignable function buttons with subtle blue leds. Flip it over and its an eraser. Like my IPOD touch I will never regret this purchase.

Cons: non but geting accustomed to not using a mouse

Other Thoughts: you will love it,

Pros: I purchased this in hopes of a smaller more portable replacement for a intuos 3 9x12 as an artist, and was unsure how it would be using a non-intuos small sized tablet... Well turns out It's great, especially for the price!!! Wacom owns any other brand, Newegg is always good. Win-Win here.

Cons: -No Tilt sensitivity, but i got used to that in a matter of hours.

-Kinda small, but with a nice monitor you forge about the size.

Other Thoughts: If you hesitant about buying this for a nice portable tablet, don't be, worth every penny!

Pros: Very Compact, Doesnt take up much room on my desk. I like the touch feature on the top and the nice shiny black around the pad area. Writes very well and Does nice on little drawings and just messing around with artrage or paint.

Cons: None really, Good price and does what i need it to.

Other Thoughts: Im very happy with this purchase, Will buy from wacom in the future

Rating + 5 A great tool for Novice - Intermediate

Pros: Responds well, works with one or two monitors (That kind of freaked me out at first) photoshop loves it, and so does my mouse hand. If you've never used a tablet before, this is a great starter and is also great for the more experienced user just looking to save space or have something portable.

Cons: None, it works like it should. The USB cable has that ferrite bar RIGHT where you plug it in and that gets in the way if your keyboard is right above the tablet on the desk.

Other Thoughts: The glossy finish causes me to constantly clean it! I can't stand Fingerprints! The pen holder should have a little weight to it, but I guess that's why you can unscrew it and fill it with sand if you want. Overall though the design is great, comfortable and easy to carry around.

Pros: Lots of pressure sensitivity, customizable buttons, worked seamlessly with every app I tried it with

Cons: Suddenly stopped working. The lights flickered on and off, and now it just won't turn on. I'm extremely annoyed because it happened just as the tablet came out of warranty.

Rating + 4 THIS DOES HAVE DUAL MONITOR SUPPORT

Pros: I almost did not buy this tablet based upon an incorrect review stating that the Bamboo did not support dual monitors. It DOES. I run 10.5.6 on a white macbook with a cheap emachines external monitor. Easy to set up and use.

Dual monitor support for OS X (once included software is installed) in:

Sys Pref>Pen Tablet>Pen>Details

You can adjust which monitors to use, tablet portions, screen area, force proportions..anything you would ever really need too adjust, you can.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I love the small size. It is my first tablet, and the price was right.

Pros: No need to buy the Bamboo fun! This device works great with photoshop CS4! Adjustable sensitivity, button mappings, nice sleek look. I'm glad it came with a pen holder otherwise I would end up loosing the pen in a day. Vista 64 driver support.

Cons: Although the usb is fairly long, it was not long enough to reach my computer without an extender cable.

Other Thoughts: I downloaded and installed the drivers from the website without using the CD and have had no problems with this device yet.

Rating + 5 Bamboo Tablet

Pros: Wacom, always excellent, but my review is more about New Egg! I bought the wrong tablet. I meant to buy a Bamboo Fun, because I need it for graphics. My return was done in a timely and polite way. I was treated so well by my rep. So if you do graphics, go for the "Fun", not the Regular Bamboo.

Cons: *Not meant for Graphics use, buy the Bamboo Fun instead.

Other Thoughts: *Again, not meant for Graphics use, buy the Bamboo Fun instead.

Pros: In some ways (not all) the smaller pad can be preferable to a larger one. The size of the active area corresponds directly to your screen. (i.e. top left of the active area = top left of your desktop) So if it were too big you'd be moving your arm across your entire desk. Works fine for graphic design. If you are like me and have always doodled on pieces of paper folded in half, you'll feel right at home with this size.

It installed flawless on windows 7 beta, it works perfectly with photoshop cs4, the writing surface feels as natural as pen on paper, the pen doesn't have batteries in it and feels and weighs like a real pen. Wacom thought of everything when designing it to be user friendly. It's fluid and natural to use.

Oh, and the install disc didn't bloat my computer with useless software.

Cons: Not many cons as far as tablet go. Some may think the size is too small, but it's hard for me to recommend a larger one for the great price of this one, and when it fit all my needs as is. You'll have to zoom way in for serious graphic detailing anyway.

No Cons.

Other Thoughts: To get a rough estimate on how big the active area is, you can get 2 dollar bills, fold one in half the long way and lay them out on a table like this:

----------------------------
$ $
$$$
----------------------------
$ $
$$$
$$$
$______________ $

That's pretty much exactly it.

Pros: Really nice price on it. And I got free shipping on it too. Ordered it Saturday night, got it around Wednesday late afternoon, very quick.

Tablet itself is nice. The feel of the pen on the tablet is pretty good, almost like paper. Was easy to set up with Photoshop CS4 and the pressure sensitivity helps make some nice pictures.

Cons: You have to keep the pent pretty straight or else it will not register well or at all.

Other Thoughts: Overall great product. Very satisfied.

Pros: Very very smooth when I'm sketching. Tablet itself is light and compact. The pen doesn't need batteries. The USB wire is detachable (a nice touch for anyone who's using this with a laptop). The Wacom name goes a long way as far as recognition & support from OS & apps.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I bought this as a replacement for my first drawing tablet, and it has already paid for itself. The utility allowed me to define the side buttons on the pen however I wanted, so I have them set to Ctrl (switches to the eyedropper in Paint Shop Pro), and Undo.

Cons: -It's a smaller model, but you already knew that

Pros: Great price/performance. If you do a lot of graphic design in photoshop and such this is a must have. I wish the bigger tablets had a more fair price.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Don't use the driver disk, get the new drivers off the website, they support multi-monitor systems, giving the ability to select the workspace of one monitor instead of all the monitors in an extended desktop.

Pros: Beautiful thin tablet. Excellent finish. Great packaging. Cheap! I love it! In fact I wanna buy the Intuos 4 now!

Cons: The tablet/pen do not register an extremely light touch. However if you need that level of accuracy you should go for the Intuos 4 line that has a 1g sensitivity

Other Thoughts: First tablet. After updating the drivers to the latest ones off the web there was an annoying behaviour enabled. That is when you click and hold for a few milliseconds it registers a right click with an annoying popup. That also meant that it got a bit slow for the pen to start drawing. The solution I found on the web was to Disable the Wacom Virtual Hid Driver (you have to disable the correct one under 'Human Interface Devices' so read about it on the web)

Cons: Hard getting use to drawing with a tablet. But, this isn't really the unit more or less the user.

Pros: This is my first ever tablet, and I love it. I just received it today, installed quickly and I've been using it 99% of the time since receiving it. It takes some getting used to as said by others, but for the price, it's great. And it's enough room to do what I need!

Cons: None so far!

Pros: Good response and a usable area for the price.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: You might want to affix a piece of good quality plain paper over the writing surface to increase drag. I found it helped cut down on 'jitters' and made my drawn lines and curves a bit better.

Rating + 5 Dont let the size fool you

Pros: The active area may seem small but simple wrist movements are all I need in comparison to larger tablets. I work mainly with graphic applications and this pad is perfect. After you install the software there are options for dual monitors as well as mapping the pen buttons. The pen stand comes in handy.

Cons: Nothing I can think of...

Other Thoughts: There's a learning curve when working with tablets if you are used to using a mouse, but its worth it in the end.

Rating + 1 Lose the stylus and you're done

Pros: Works great.

Cons: I spent an hour now looking for my stylus and still can't find it. Of course, losing it is my fault, but I think Wacom should have watched out for me and others who live in a mess. Make the dang thing somehow attachable to the tablet, or make it stand out, like put lively colored length-wise stripes on it, so it stands out from the other pens that won't set you back $70 when you lose them. They don't sell the styluses (styli? whatever) separately, so I'm left now with a useless tablet.

Pros: This is the cheapest quality tablet. It works well with all programs that I use for texturing (Photoshop and Bodypaint 3D). Looks sexy. Great size for just throwing it in a small compartment in your backpack.

Cons: It's the smallest size, but it doesn't make THAT big of a difference using a larger tablet unless you are just that hardcore and/or rich.

Pros: I have to admit that the "small" active area scared me at first, but after playing with it for even 5 minutes you realize it's all you need and works wonders! The 4 customizable function keys on tablet itself help make accessing different programs or commands a breeze.

Cons: None that I have run across!

Other Thoughts: For a first time tablet owner the included CD contains a tutorial to show you all the different functions of the tablet and pen, also shows you how to customize the buttons!

Rating + 4 not bad at all...

Pros: I've used photoshop since version 4 and I've never tried it with a pen tablet... I should have tried one earlier. Since it was only $69.99 I thought I would give it a shot. It took a little getting used to, but after a bit I caught on. Programmable keys are a big plus! The overall feel of the pen is good and it seems to have just the right amount of sensitivity. I'd say that I'll keep using it for a long time. Great buy for $69.99 - also, construction feels pretty solid.

Cons: I wish the pen buttons were a little closer to the tip. I have to reach back with my finger to reach the button.... maybe it's the way that I naturally hold a pen????

Other Thoughts: Something really has to "WOW" me to get 5 stars... this only "wowed" me (lower case) - but still a great product.

Pros: Got it for my sister for christmas, is a great tablet for beginners. I've used it a bit, and it works quite well in both Mac OS X Leopard and in Windows XP.

Cons: The first one I got, the "writing" side of the pen decided to stop working abruptly, yet the "eraser" side was just fine. One RMA and 5 weeks later, the new one is working quite well, no discernable problems.

Other Thoughts: The pad is a bit small, but hey thats what you get when you dont want to dish out a lot of $$$. The bamboo tablet is really just fine for beginners. If you want a bigger tablet, its simple. pay more.

Pros: Well make and sturdy. It works perfectly for my needs and makes image editing a snap.

Cons: One small gripe : Buttons on pen take some getting used to.

Other Thoughts: I'm using this on XP and it works great. It takes a fairly steady hand and some getting used to but once you get the hang of it everything is a snap and it can really speed up working on images and other stuff. I use it with a free image editing software called GIMP (google it if your interested in checking it out) and it works fine, although it takes a few minutes to figure out how to get the tablet to work fine with the program.

Rating + 4 Sleek and Fun

Pros: Small Profile, Sleek Design, Very nice packaging, Comfortable Pen, Works very well with Vista, handwriting recognition works well.

Cons: Not fully compatible with Windows XP, Pressure Sensitivity requires the pen to be pressed straight down on the pad as opposed to at an angle (perhaps this can be adjusted in the sensitivity settings), When using the pen I often find myself pressing the buttons on the pen which cause unintended actions.

Other Thoughts: I have installed this tablet on my Vista and Windows XP computers.

On Vista, everything works great. I was surprised to find a "Tablet PC Input Panel" hiding nicely on the left side of my screen ready to take my notes. I have used this device with TwistedBrush Pro and Adobe Photoshop CS3 and found that my expectations were exceeded. I also use MS OneNote extensively. I am pleasantly surprised at the capability to draw and take notes, and then have my notes converted to text.

When it comes to Windows XP my experience was not as great. The first thing I noticed is that the "Tablet PC Input Panel" does not appear. The second thing I noticed was while using MS OneNote. The pen did not automatically write; it acted as a mouse.

**I just noticed that I old drivers came on my CD and newer drivers for both XP and Vista were Published in December of 08. I will be sure to get these new drivers installed, tested, and update my review at a later date.

Pros: Easy to use, set up, and configure. Multiple monitor support is a snap, and you can configure it to only respond to one monitor (if you have multiple monitors.) Windows XP / Vista will at first attempt to split the pad in two sections; one for each monitor. This can be fixed by installing the software that came with the tablet. Windows 7 has support for tablets which will allow you to set it without installing the software.

The tablet is great.

Cons: Smudges easily and it is rather hard to keep clean. Dust magnet.

Other Thoughts: It came in a pretty box.

-Thin and lightweight, but feels very durable

Not to mention: it looks great!

Cons: After only a few days of use, the surface where the pen touches the tablet is beginning to appear marred and scratched (no performance hindrance, though).

Pros: Tracks very accurately, included software works fine in Windows XP. Once I got wacom-tools installed in Ubuntu 8.10 it works fine there too. Like the reversible stylus for erasing in drawing programs.

Cons: Works perfectly except when using the GIMP image editor in Windows, at which point it stutters and skips badly when drawing lines. Not sure why it's only with that program (it's fine in Linux). Also, no Linux support from the manufacturer (but it works fine with wacom-tools)

Other Thoughts: I got this for my eeePC 901 for a portable way to draw and mark documents, and I am very happy with it.

Rating + 5 Very nice intro tablet

Pros: Very solidly build, versatile and configurable. I like mapping the buttons to keystrokes for something like ctrl+z or ctrl+alt+z for work in photoshop, makes trips to the keyboard almost unnecessary. Very stylish, black with blue LED backlit buttons matches everything else on my desktop.

Oh yeah, and its cheap.

Cons: I find the buttons on the pen a bit difficult to use. It seems my fingers are never lined up with them properly. Probably just something I'll have to get used to and it's not that big of an inconvenience.

Other Thoughts: I read some review of this elsewhere where it was said that the base the pen rests in is too light, you can unscrew the top off of it and add weight to your hearts content, I poured in a few table spoons of portland cement and put the lid back on, center of gravity problem resolved.

Rating + 5 Spectacular

Pros: Firstly, the build quality is amazing. It feels like something that cost twice as much. It looks very sleek and professional. It's really got a 'wow' factor, everyone always asks about it.

The packaging was very Apple-esque... a fun unbox indeed. Integrates very well with photoshop CS4. The 512 levels of pressure sensitivity seem like enough. It is very accurate, it's even usable as a mouse replacement. Also has great drivers that make it useful for dual monitor setups. Neat touch sensitive scroll wheel and programmable buttons. For the price, you can't go wrong.

Cons: The eraser isn't pressure sensitive... but that's really not a big deal. You can just use the eraser tool in photoshop with the tip.

Other Thoughts: I was worried about the small active area, but it has proven to be more than enough for a 1680x1050 monitor. It actually feels like writing on a sheet of paper with a felt-tip pen, I was actually rather shocked.

Get the latest drivers from Wacom's site. If you have dual monitors you can actually specify a single monitor to map the tablet to (or even just a certain area). This makes it perfect as you have much finer control in photoshop.

It works well with the handwriting recognition in Vista. I was very impressed with the precision without any tweaking.

Rating + 3 Little things bug me.

Pros: Very good price, good quality, very responsive.

Cons: There are two major things about it I don't really like and you can't seem to turn off: the fact that you have to hover the pen 1-3MM above the tablet, and if you touch the tablet it acts as a click. Both of these may be pros for other people, but it prohibits me from using it the way I want.

Other Thoughts: If I could just turn off the fact that touching the tablet acts as a click action, then I wouldn't be so annoyed by the hover feature.

Rating + 5 great

Pros: Great feel and quality. I draw with it for hours. Works perfectly with Photoshop CS4.

I used to own a Graphire 3 since high school and it eventually stopped working and this is such a great step up. The feel of the stylus seems so much better than Graphire 3.

Cons: Be sure to download the driver update.

Had to uninstall and reinstall drivers after an automatic windows update.

Not really big enough for note-taking and handwriting, but this isn't what people get this for. So it is something that you can try when you're bored, but your hand will get fatigued very fast.

Other Thoughts: Does not perform adequately with some online applications, particularly Doodle app in Facebook. There's a millisecond of delay before it starts drawing. However, this isn't really a con, probably will be fixed by the Doodle app in the future, although it stops me from sketching stuff for friends on there.

Rating + 5 I AM IN LOVE!

Pros: Everything! This thing feels like I paid ALOT more than 69.99. Its everything it says it is..with VERY slick looks to boot. It's more than enough space, even with me being an avid photoshopper. It requires practically no set-up(besides the cd) It automatically co-ordinates with my 22" widescreen..if you put the stylus tip down on the upper right corner the cursor appears there, and so on. The zoom touch ring is a killer feature, and the 4 programable hotkeys are very convienent. I plugged this thing in x-mas morning and have touched my mouse not even once(dont plan on ever usin it again either) The build quality is supberb, very solid and accurate, and its a blast in photo shop! Navigating my desktop did take about and hour straight, but after that it's a breeze and alot more fun than a mouse. The 2 buttons on the stylus are in perfect position. If you're using XP,Google "PenOfice" for the handwriting recognition..u can handwrite emails and even IMs! BEST 70 I EVER SPENT!

Cons: NADA!

Other Thoughts: This thing is a steal for 70 bucks, and I would recommend it to a beginner or a pro(so long as you havent owned a 300-500 Wacom in the past) Oh,and when the stylus is in contact with the pad,it gives the feel and sound of pencil on paper(some consider this a con) but if you think about it,you kinda need that,as a sort of "feedback" and I love that touch. If this is the most inexpensive of the Wacoms,I can imagine the mid to top models! But this is gonna keep me happy for a long time runnin'! One last thing, follow the CD tutorial(10-12 mins) and you'll be pro in under in hour.

Rating + 4 Great device

Pros: This is the first tablet I've ever used, so when I first hooked it up I was a little confused by the operation, but the disc has a nice tutorial and once I watched that I was straight to photoshop and doodling away. I probably would've bought a bigger one if I had the money, but upon actually using it I think I like the size of it quite a bit and don't think I need it to be any bigger.

Cons: Has a little wheel for zooming and scrolling, however you have to use your finger on it, not the pen (which means setting the pen down to use it), and it is a little unresponsive.

Because I am using two monitors with different resolutions there is an area of the pad that is essentially dead. Not a major deal really, actually contrary to other reviews I think it works fine with dual monitors.

Could be just me, but the pad works much better when drawing quickly, there is no way I could draw slowly with it.

Rating + 5 so far, so good

Pros: Easy to use, Easy to understand, accurate, very slim design. Wacom knows how to make a good product. This tablet, though my first tablet, has to be the best thing I've bought for my computer since I made my computer 3 years ago. I've had some fun editing photos in photoshop 7 the past few days, drawing objects that wouldn't be possible to draw with a mouse. The Design of the unit is very sturdy, 100% solid design. The drawing surface, like it stated in the box, is truly as if you were drawing on paper with a hard-lead pencil.

Cons: Only con so far is the highly reflective top surface: it gathers fingerprints like an Ipod does, which is a cosmetic flaw, but it just requires a clean cloth to wipe it off (while its unplugged or the computer is off, so you don't press all of the function buttons and make your computer go crazy)

Other Thoughts: The pen-stand: great size but no weight.
This may be intentional, to keep traveling with the tablet more convenient, but on the desk it moves around too easily. Not really a 'con' but not a 'pro' either
overall, Wacom did an excellent job on this tablet, and for the price, i would say its well worth it.
One last note: Because it isn't the size of a normal peice of paper, to get more accurate hand-to-screen movements, zoom in on the project you may be drawing when using this tablet.

Rating + 5 Great little pad

Pros: This is an entry-level pen/tablet combination that makes digital sketching affordable to pretty much anyone. Takes a bit of getting used to, but pen is pretty responsive and feels natural after a short time of drawing with it. Having to look up at the screen instead of down at the "paper" is not as awkward as it seems, and while my desk size/arrangement prevents me from lying it flat in front of me, sketching with the table propped up on my lap is not at all awkward. Using the pen/tablet in lieu of a mouse also takes some getting used to, but is quite do-able after a bit of practice. Very easy to install (pretty much plug into USB port and use) and the included materials (driver disc with tutorial and a little booklet) are just plenty to get you going. While the work surface seems small, it's not as restrictive as you might think and the small overall footprint means you can easy stash the tablet to one side when you're done.

Cons: The scroll "wheel" is not as sensitive as it should be; it's actually faster to just reach over with the pen, and scroll up and down by selecting a scroll bar as you would with a mouse than to use the touch-sensitive scroll wheel.

From a green point of view, the packaging, while very handsomely done, was a lot of cardboard for one little tablet!

Other Thoughts: Best birthday present to myself ever. I am really pleased with it.

Pros: I picked this up at the local retailer and not from the egg - but I must say this tablet is probably the best out there. The size might say "small", but it's *very* precise! I've been using it in photoshop - after a few minor setup quibbles - and am amazed at the sensitivity.

Cons: I had a hard time getting photoshop to recognize the pad, took a few restarts then it "just worked"

Other Thoughts: Bigger != Better. I toyed with spending on a cheapo brand for more size, and I'm glad I didn't. I get no lag/delay, and each point on the surface corresponds with the same spot on the screen. So if you get a huge pad, expect to be making some ridiculously large arm movements!

Pros: At work we have several large pen tablets for graphic designers. The major advantage to the larger size is that they have more control of detail. This pen tablet is PERFECT for home. It has great (4/5) detail yet small enough to limit my movements for everyday use.
The smaller size also makes it great for editing photos and organizing icons etc.

Cons: Scrolling feature on the top is difficult to adjust. It is rarely used but would be great to make it more responsive.

Pros: Great value overall. Works fine. Thousands time better than a mouse. Help relieve strains on my hand from constant mouse clicks. Fun for kids to draw on screen.

Cons: Not really cons, considering its very low price. Drawing area could be larger. Pen is only active within 1 cm of the drawing surface. Sometimes, when CPU is really busy, the pen response is momentarily frozen. I also own a Intuos3 PTZ630, which has much nicer feel and features at almost 500% price.

Rating + 5 Perfect!!

Pros: Very compact, meaning I can unplug it and slip it into any nice little tight spot. Makes drawing in photoshop a pure snap compared to drawing with a mouse. It is a bit funky at first but with some use it gets to be better. I can't really see using it as a total mouse replacement since I think one could manuever around with a mouse a bit faster, but that's just personal opinion. Overall I think these things are about as great as the cd burner, once you have one it'd be hard to imagine what it would be like without one! Definitely can't go wrong with the price if you're on a budget. Accuracy is great and moves around smoothly. Would definitely recommend.

Cons: Well, not sure if it's actually a con but more of an annoyance, but the pen that comes with it has a button right on the side of it which gets in the way sometimes of wher eI grip the stylus. If you can get used to it and work around it, then it's good to go!

Pros: Wacom tablets are the best. This tiny little thing is prefect for desktop use at home and acceptable for producing a lot of digital artwork. Also, the thing is so small and sexy - it's kind of like an ipod that way.

Cons: Small. This is a useful tool but its too small to be used for professional work. At least, not as your primary tablet.

Other Thoughts: I picked this up for $50 thanks to newegg.

Pros: This tablet is built very well. The software and driver setup was very easy to accomplish. It works pretty good as a mouse alternative, allowing you to use relative or absolute positioning.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: You will be very happy with this tablet.

Rating + 4 Good beginner tablet

Pros: Works well for a beginner/low-end tablet. Looks nice. Easy driver, software and usb install. 4 programmable hot keys. Works well with Adobe Photoshop. Decent pad sensitivity and control.

Cons: A bit small, but you get what you pay for. This is the lowest cost wacom tablet you can get. These tablets can get expensive! Something seems off with the touch sensitivity of the touch wheel. The scroll up and down didnt always work. People with large fingers will have a tough time. The zoom in and out function worked much better.

Other Thoughts: This was my first experience with a tablet. It takes some getting used to it. Its expected over time that it could replace the mouse. I look forward to that day.

Rating + 5 My first tablet

Pros: It's really cool. I've never used a tablet before and I like this one a lot.

The size is more than enough for me personally. I primarily wanted to use it with sculpting programs as opposed to painting so I think the size is just fine for me.

The pressure sensitivity is really cool and accurate. It feels and sounds like a pencil on paper to use it. Great software with tutorials for new people such as myself.

It's built nice and the packaging is good

Cons: Only 4 programmable buttons. But since you can use one hand for keyboard, it really isn't that big of a deal.

Other Thoughts: I like it a lot. I'm glad I purchased it! I think I like Wacoms

Rating + 5 Works Great! Awesome!

Pros: Easy to use, easy to learn. Works great with PHOTOSHOP CS3. Very thin & lightweight. The pen is easy to handle. I forgot about the mouse after using this for 5 minutes.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: First time user of this product and already semi mastered it. So much easy to use in Photoshop. Easy to store when not in use. Very cool gadget.

Rating + 4 Does its job

Pros: -Sleek design
-Sensitive and more responsive than the Graphire3 I was using
-Hotkeys are smartly placed and very useful.
-Small and easy to fit in my laptop case without worrying about damage.

Cons: -Small :(

Other Thoughts: I didn't like the feel to it. The old Graphire3 I used had a slick plastic surface where the nub slid along it smoothly. The Bamboo however has a more rough surface so that it actually feels like it's pencil on paper (more resistance). Even after using it a while I still prefer the Graphire3's feel.

I gave it 4 stars because you get what you pay for. Wacom makes excellent products including this one but it's obviously not as nice as their other tablets.

Rating + 5 Goodbye Mouse, Hello Pen

Pros: In the twenty four hours that I've had this I think I'm ready to stop using a mouse. Wacom included a great learning CD with this and it has you using the pen in minutes. I'm in awe of the things you can do in Vista with this tablet. It is very accurate and doesn't slow down or flicker at all. I love the ability to sign my documents as well as draw in Paint.net and automatic handwriting recognition. I could almost drop my keyboard use as well. Great buy overall and at such a great price it a no brainer.

Cons: The only con I have is that more applications aren't written with pens in mind, but this is not Wacom's fault. I found through testing that if your going to get this you better have Vista because it really shines on that OS.

Pros: Works great for small doodling task. I bought this as a little helper when i edit stuff/sketch.

No need for batteries.

Cons: The CD, that came with package to install the drivers, was blank. Or was unreadable in my cd drive for some reason. I was able to download/install the drivers off wacoms' site after some researching.

Rating + 5 Great for Photo Edits

Pros: Great size for portability. Works well with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Works right out of the box without drivers. Works even better with drivers installed. Great device if you don't want to take the plunge into a larger device. If you program the keys on the tablet and pen you can almost perform all necessary editing functions without touching the keyboard.

Cons: Can't think of much, for the price it works better than the competition. OK..its black and smudges easily. No clip to hold the pen on the board. Pen resolution is a bit coarse for pixel by pixel editing. To be honest this is just splitting hairs. Most users will never need finer than the 2500 lines per inch.

Other Thoughts: Originally purchased this when I decided to get back into photography. Worked really well on my dual monitor set up (advice to rater: install the Wacom drivers and tell it to span multiple monitors). Recently I purchased a tablet with bigger area for my main workstation, but still use this one for quick Lightroom editing with my laptop for on site shoots and proof sets.

Rating + 4 Good price, Dull Performance

Pros: Works OK, more accurate than a mouse. Bought the unit for graphics work with Fireworks. Installed easily, Plays well with other software. Has a great WOW factor with first use.

Cons: Dual monitor support is non-existant. It appears that for the device to work properly, a great deal of 'tweaking' must be done, especially my environment. I used the device for a day or two and it didn't give me the results I wanted with the graphics. I put it aside and really haven't used it since.

Other Thoughts: It's way better than a mouse if you want to freehand anything, but the ultimate solution is to sketch then scan something. It's really the output that counts.

Rating + 5 Just Great

Pros: Installs very easily with both XP and Vista, and mac only requires that you install the drivers with the CD. I tested it with a linux live CD, and it worked as a mouse, but not as a tablet (however, I did not install any drivers.)

The tablet has a good feel, similar to that of pen on paper. 4 Buttons is good enough for me, along with the 2 on the pen itself. All the buttons are customizable, and the circle pad works well for zooming. It can be used with the pen or your finger.

Cons: Small? But that's what I paid for, so no problem there.

Other Thoughts: Only get this if you are actually going to use it. I bought mine, used it a lot for a few weeks, but now it just sits here, not used much. I am thinking about selling it, but I think I might still use it in the future.

Rating + 5 Great little tablet

Pros: Great little tablet. Never used one before but for the price this one can't be beat. Glad that I didn't go for one of the cheaper copies. Makes using Gimp so much better.

Cons: Linux drivers are not the greatest, and the process to install them is more painful than usual for a linux product. Of course, the tablet is designed for windows, so that's not really the tablet's fault.

Other Thoughts: Mostly used under linux. It did work immediately when I booted windows, but didn't spend too much time working with it.

Rating + 5 Awesome

Pros: Very sturdy and sensitive, feels like writing on a very fine matte surface with a plastic tip.

Pen has a good grip.

Cons: Pen is very light. The pad itself has a gloss finish, and fingers and hands will create oily smudges and the like.

The surface may feel somewhat tacky, I wish the pad surface were more smoother.

Takes some time to get used to, make sure you have alot of arm space.

Other Thoughts: Great tablet at an affordable price.

Rating + 4 Wacom tablet and pen

Pros: Amazing response and sensitivity of the pen and tablet. Works excellent with Photoshop. Software went in easy, pretty cool software too.

Cons: The tablet is a bit small. Takes some time getting used to the whole looking at the monitor and not your drawing board thing.

Other Thoughts: Amazing product for the price, I'm not much of an artist but have always wanted one. I'm very satisfied and would recommend this to anyone.

Rating + 5 I don't know much about tablets, but....

Pros: This thing is incredible. I am brand new to the tablet world so I have nothing to compare it to other than a mouse. Even the packaging is designed well. Aesthetically, the tablet is beautiful, and technically it is just as fabulous. I was able to whip out 100 frames of animation yesterday like nobodies business after I got used to it.

Cons: Only the size. It was a little frustrating trying to place objects at a specific point; since it is so small it is really hard to hold it over just one pixel.

Other Thoughts: It took about 30 minutes to really get used to it, and then I was flying. I've enjoyed drawing silly pictures in Windows Journal.
