theholmboy Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month This user purchased this item from Newegg	1/18/2009 8:59:49 PM Logitech budget goodness Pros: Great multimedia features for the price, nice action on the keys (slightly less clicky & closer to a laptop feel than my older Logitech keyboards) Cons: Doesn't sit completely flat on a know flat surface, lighter build (read: flimsier) Other Thoughts: 6 of the 10 wired keyboards in our house are Logitechs and I have been very pleased with their quality. Their budget keyboards (<$20) last for a long time and the letters rarely fade or wear off - my oldest son's hands must sweat because his WASD keys are the only ones that have worn off and that was only after many years of use. It includes a good set of multimedia keys and Logitech's iTouch software has always been great. I highly recommend this keyboard, especially for the price. Did you find this review helpful? No scratches. I needed a PS2 keyboard/mouse for my Linksys KVM. Cons: 1) This keyboard does not have a Scroll Lock key. I need the scroll lock key in order to use my Linksys Slimline KVM. I need the KVM. 2) I installed the software that came with it. The software interfered with my BitDefender software to the point where I lost my protection. I had to remove the software. Somewhat odd key layout. Look closely! This keyboard is useless for my purposes. Other Thoughts: I don't see anywhere any warning about the Scroll Lock key. Keys are re-programable. easy to open .exe files with a touch of a key with the "F" mode. (allows me to clear all shortcuts from desktop <3) Enjoy the "close window" button. much faster then alt+F4. works great. Cons: could light up... Laying your hands on the keyboard won't press anything down far enough to register, but you don't need to put a ton of force behind each stroke. Cons: You need a driver for the media/web functions. This keyboard does not have tilt which means the degree of tilt for each key is the same, 0. This allows for keys to be moved around without awkward bumps. Perfect typing and never miss a letter / strike. Cons: Has 103 keys (no SCROLL LOCK key) - in my case a negative because my KVM switch is hard coded to switch on ScrollLock hits which is missing in this keyboard. Cons: function keys feel flimsy. they do their job but they sort of swivel around. never had any problems though. Other Thoughts: It's a good cheap keyboard. Very basic design yet still looks decent. My kid spilled a whole cup of coffee right into the keys....didn't say anything until i found it soaked, dried it out plugged it in still works great. Wiredude Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year	6/8/2008 5:42:32 PM good and inexpensive Pros: Simply put, everything works. The special function keys are easily re-programed. I've had mine for about 2 months, and have yet to have any issues with it. I have also recommended it to at least one other person, who has also had no problem with it. Its' not the quietest keyboard ever, but it is a bit quieter than the last several that I've had. My favorite feature is probably the volume controls on the keyboard. Cons: For me personally, it sits a little too flat, and has a sort of "deep" feel to it. But that's more personal preference. The only think I would like to change is the positioning of the "back" and "close" buttons. The positioning on the left end of the keyboard does leave then somewhat easy to accidentally bump. Other Thoughts: For an inexpensive keyboard, I really couldn't ask for anything more. Easy to program, full Vista support, and seems quite durable too! Did you find this review helpful? Cons: buyers beware! there isn't a scroll lock button on this keyboard. while this isn't a problem for most people, some KVM switches use scroll lock to switch between computers. Pros: Great layout, no 200 extra buttons that most users hardly touch. Logitech software is discrete and does the job of programming the media keys really well. Style is nice [matches my apex tx-373 like, perfectly]. Keys aren't too loud and have good response. The close window/back button on the right are really helpful, as is the calculator button on the top right. Saves time. Cons: None really. It would be cool if they used this same layout/style but with nice durable, rubberized keys like on the higher end models. I would definitely pay the extra cash. Other Thoughts: I plan on buying another in the future for myself if needed... Getting one for my girlfriend soon too. This thing is awesome. This keybaord is nice and slim, it has a good solid construction, and the typing is very comfortable. I love the much more silent keys, but not too silent that it makes keypresses awkward feeling. I usually prefer the simplicity and reliabilty of wired keyboards compared to the convienience of wireless. And this keyboard matches my current mouse and monitor, very nice. Cons: If the desk surface you set it on is uneven the keys can rattle a tiny bit due to minute wobbliness. But thats not really a con, when I have it on a good surface the typing is very nice and quiet. Other Thoughts: No scroll-lock? Oh well, I never use that darn button anyway, good riddence. It feels smooth to the touch, but at the same time doesnt give you the bulky factor that some stock keyboards come with. Used it to replace a stock HP Pavilion 7955 Media Keyboard. Liked the way that it felt overall, and really enjoy using it. Cons: Set point software is the only way to configure the function keys, and I never liked that software in general. I'm hoping that there is some other way to set the keys up without this software, as I dont want to have to use that junk anyway. Pros: Perfect if you listen to a lot of music or open up like 3 or 4 applications at once. The shortcut keys are oh so useful. Very handy media control buttons (esp. volume) and calculator/e-mail etc. Layout is pretty user-friendly too. Cons: F-mode should be on by default (meaning the F-light should be off by default) coz I get distracted by even little green lights. I shouldn't have to keep the light on to use my F-keys as normal function keys. No biggie, though. Other Thoughts: Good value, much more than just a basic keyboard for $20. Layout is mostly standard, and there are five fully-programmable extra buttons for your uses. Logitech drivers are really good on that front. Cons: The media and other buttons feel much cheaper than the normal keys. They're wobbly and made of flimsy plastic. Multimedia keys are great, espicially since they work flawlessly with iTunes. The function keys are also impressive, yet I had some trouble programming them to open up web pages. The keyboard is high quality and you probably won't be disappointed if you want a nice keyboard without breaking the bank. Cons: The letters are a little on the smaller side on this keyboard. There was also no reason to make the delete key gigantic for the fact that I hardly ever use that key. Furthermore, the function keys are giving me an extremely hard time opening up webpages. Cons: Keys slightly mushy, inadequate angle adjustment, confusing setup software. Although it seems a notch or two above most commodity keyboards, it still feels kind of cheap. Other Thoughts: As an old-timer who started out on typewriters, then early PC's, and who's never really liked the little flat keyboards typical of laptops, this isn't so great. I have never had a problem with logitech keyboards... EVER! They are all i use and recommend to my customers. This keyboard is nice for an office where the computer is in view of the customers. It looks professional and functions Extravagantly. Keys are nice, not too spongy, Great for anyone. Cons: Logitech + Cons = Not Happening This company has thier stuff together. Your not getting a con out of me. Has all the the buttons you need and none that you don't. Buy it! It is the best no thrills keyboard out there at moment. You can't go wrong with this one, it's a winner. Cons: None other then it could have been cheaper, but given what you get more then worth the money. Other Thoughts: I got this to replace my Lite On, keyboard,which got over 200 reviews on here on Newegg. I think this is a better keyboard and deserves more attention that's why I am writing this review. The Lite-On was just to mushy and not as solid as this keyboard. Keys are the right size. I like that the insert key is moved to a galaxy far away! The browser back works. The media keys work even with iTunes. Never ran the disk, Vista installed it straight away. Smaller desktop footprint and easier to type on than any I've used. Cons: Would have got 5 eggs but had to stab the backspace button a few times to get it to work at first. Browser back button doesn't close Slimbrowser windows or tabs, no biggie. Even with the feet up it lays very flat. Not a problem for me as I like that and probably not a problem for laptop users but others might find it ... different. Other Thoughts: The keyboard I've been using for the last 12 years has to be connected with an adaptor that's heavy and kept falling loose. Worried it might short out something, I figured I'd better uppgrade. It cost $xxx in 1996! This one cost a LOT less.
