Rating + 3 Good build quality, horrible layout

Pros: Good, solid feeling build quality to the keyboard. Mouse is a little on the light side and feels a bit weaker, but works well.

Cons: Horrible non-standard layout for the arrow keys and the insert/home/page up/page down/home/end keys. I thought I could get used to it but after 4 hours of honest trying, I gave up and went back to my old keyboard. I use control-shift-left arrow to select text constantly in my job. This key combo could only be achieved on this keyboard using one hand by a contortionist.
I use the home/end keys all the time, on this keyboard I have to look before I use them or I end up deleting text rather than moving to the end or beginning of a line.

Other Thoughts: Why must they change the standard layout, to make it look prettier? I guess it's my fault for thinking I could get used to such a dumb layout.

Rating + 4 Good keyboard, mouse not so good.

Pros: It's a very good value and good built quality for both the keyboard and mouse. The keyboard is low profile and looks pretty good too. I do like the key response, though I prefer notebook style scissor keys. So far so good in games, I don't have wireless lag, or at least nothing perceivable yet. This is a great example of why I always go with Logitech for almost all my PC accessories. Keyboard has taken a few beatings from *ahem* gaming rage *cough* ahem****, yet still keeps on kicking like the day I got it. Even though plenty of keys got pounded off in the ensuing madness, the reattached and it still works like a charm.

Cons: Mouse is somewhat unresponsive and picky about what kind of surface you use it on, not to mention it's rather lacking in extra buttons. I don't even use it, it's regulated to back up duty, as my Logitech Nano is much superior in usability, quality and response.

Other Thoughts: A scissor key version of this keyboard would be a Godsend.

Rating + 5 Good set

Pros: Easy to set up and use. I bought this set to use with a new AMD Phenom quad core computer I built for work. Use with XP Pro. Build and installation went smoothly.

Cons: Function keys are thin, but I am getting used to them.

Other Thoughts: Nice to not have cords to deal with. No problems so far. I like Logitech products.
Has a little different arrangement on the Home, End, Delete, Page Up, Page Down keys.
I use this set all day at work on my Data Entry job.
Currently, when I want to build a new computer, I look to Newegg for the parts.

Rating + 4 Nice Keyboard.

Pros: It's wireless, easy to connect, long battery life. Works great with mac or PC. (Especially mac, just plug in and go.)

Cons: The mouse it comes with is garbage. I use the V450, and its a great mouse. I plan on getting a gaming pc soon and i will not be using this keyboard to play games. Sometimes there is a lag.

Other Thoughts: I got this to clean up my desk. When doing my engineering schoolwork, i need a lot of room. I use this with a laptop on a 20 inch monitor so its nice to have the plug and play features.

Rating + 1 Dead after a month?

Pros: Nice keyboard, low profile, media keys, etc

Cons: After a week I starte having problems with my 'w' key... as a gamer, you can understand why this would be annoying... But then the problkem spread to almost all the keys in the upper left quarter of the keyboard. Can't get ahold of logitech either

Other Thoughts: Why isn't there more of a selection for low-profile keyboards?

Rating + 5 Best range I've found

Pros: The range is the best I've found. (see remarks below)
I like that there's an on/off switch

Cons: None to speak of.

Other Thoughts: I got the tape measure out to test what I was experiencing. My first purchase for a wireless keyboard (msft 3000) was returned for this reason. With this Logitech I used the mouse at a distance os 16 feet with complete accuracy. As I move farther away the signal got sporatic.

I did the same thing with the keyboard and was able to get 34 feet away with total responsiveness. Then I thought, I'm holding this keyboard in the air so maybe that isn't real-world usage. Sure enough, when I set it down on the piano at the same range it didn't work. But even sitting on a solid object I get great response at 16 feet.

One thing I'll note is that when I installed it in my living room where the KB/mouse is only 10 feet away I had problems until I just moved the receptor around slightly. It appears to be sensitive in that way but all in all this is a great product up to 15 feet away.

Rating + 1 Range is awful...

Pros: Nice design, comfortable feel.

Cons: RANGE! Why in the world can't anyone make a keyboard/mouse set with good range. I wanted to use this for my home theatre PC. I had the receiver 8 ft away from the keyboard in line of sight and got nothing. I had to have it within 2 ft of the receiver to make it work plus if the keyboard was on the floor and the receiver was on the shelf I got nothing, they had to be in line of sight.

Other Thoughts: If you're going to have the receiver right in front of you then go for it but if you plan to have the receiver under the desk or more than two feet from you find something else.

Rating + 4 Decent

Pros: Worked great for about 7-8 months, short keystrokes are a definite plus for gaming and for regular everyday typing. Battery life was also well past a month, had the same set of batteries in it for about 6 months, just like the advertisement on the box indicated, and there was zero delays or loss of functionality towards the end of the batteries life.

Cons: Range was a big issue. Only about 7 feet at best. Once I got into owning it on the ninth month, range was reduced to about 4-5 feet. The keyboard, before I spilt water all over it (idiot move on my part), was missing strokes on the L and the period keys, would have to apply pressure. The mouse was again alright for the first 6-7 months but after that, it was pretty much as functional as an infrared line of sight mouse. If you don't have it within line of sight of the receiver it won't function.

Other Thoughts: Great for the price, but don't buy it if you plan on using it for the next 2-3 years. More of a temporary replacement of a wired keyboard and mouse.

Rating + 5 Very Nice

Pros: This is an outstanding mouse and keyboard combination. The mouse is similar to what my wife has from her Dell XPS One setup. The combination works very well with Windows 7. I bought this for my new system which replaced an old ball-mouse with mouse pad, nice mouse using it on my desk. The keyboard layout is pretty nice too and is very functional with Windows 7 (and MCE), with on screen updates to buton presses and many many options for embedding popular programs, like Microsoft's Office Suite of programs. It took seconds to install and use too.

Cons: There is a small learning curve to using the Insert, Delete, Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down keys, that is all.

Other Thoughts: This is a premium choice in keyboard and mouse combination and it work very well, you won't go wrong purchasing this baby.

Rating + 5 Excellent.

Pros: -About a centimer thick
-Quiet, low-profile keys
-Three level adjustments (completely flat, low, or high)
-Several useful function keys
-Decent range-works from any spot within my 15x15' bedroom

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: For the first week or so, some keys did take a bit more pressure than I would like. Thios effect wore off as the keyboard was broken in.

Rating + 4 Great feel, good battery, bad range

Pros: Slim, Sleek, Good feel, Supposedly spill resistant, doesn't make the clacky sound some keyboards do. Feels solid. Battery life is also good, I use it everyday, and battery still show at good level. Mouse has an on'off switch that helps not drain battery.

Cons: Won't receive signal past eight feet. See below.

Other Thoughts: I got this for a PC hooked up to our TV, I don't think the distance between the TV/PC and the couch is too much, but I can't sit back on the couch and type, or use the mouse. If I sit on the edge of the couch, and keep the keyboard as comfortably close as possible, it works great. I measured the distance with a meas tape and its exactly 8'. They should label this with that range. It really is like an invisible wall. At 8' signal drops.

Pros: short keystroke, slim laptop like keys, lay flat profile, clipped caps lock and num lock keys and usable Fkeys, don't have to switch "F"lock

Rating + 5 Logitech S520

Pros: Replaced my S510 set. This one weighs less but the keys are more slimmer, like a laptop. And the mouse is wireless laser instead of wireless optical from the S510 set.

Also, quiet keys and lets me control everything, that I need anyways.

Cons: I prefer the standard low profile keys from the S510, not really a con but just something I got to get use to.

Other Thoughts: Didn't like gaming with the keyboard too much, just didn't have the right feel to it... I like the S510 keyboard for gaming.

Rating + 1 Keys are defective

Pros: Large number of special keys
Some special keys work in Linux

Cons: I tried 2 different S520 keyboards, and both had defective keys. On each unit, one or more keys would not respond with a normal amount of pressure or unless the strike was straight down on the middle of the key. The first one had a faulty 'A' key. The second had faulty Tab, 3, W, and 0 keys. These defects led to typing errors and constantly having to verify that what I typed got transmitted. I use Alt-Tab often, and my tab's were often ignored by the keyboard, especially the first in a series. I tried moving the receiver close to the keyboard, with no improvement.

The mouse was somewhat heavy and had an awkward shape, tapered upward, requiring more squeeze pressure than on most mice to pick up. The mouse wheel too easily rolled while trying to click it.

Rating + 5 Pretty AWESOME-O

Pros: It is a very good bang for your buck. The wifi reliever is small and light. It feels like a laptop keyboard which I really like. 4 Programmable keys also come in handy. If you on a sorta low budget get this keyboard. Very reliable.

Cons: The batteries only last like 1 month on the keyboard. The distance that you can be from the receiver without it cutting out is only about 5-6 feet. It can be sort of hard to connect the keyboard and mouse to the receiver for the first time.

Other Thoughts: BUY IT

Rating + 5 Amazing

Pros: Bought this for my mother so she could use the computer in her bedroom from her bed. Mouse and Keyboard work flawlessly from across the other side of the room (couldn't go any farther since the wall was there). Very smooth, I used the mouse on a pillow and it still worked well. Love the zoom feature on the keyboard and the wrist rest at the front. Also very attractive looking with a well-built/sturdy, yet lightweight design.

Cons: Took me a while to get good range (read other thoughts). Keyboard has no on/off button.

Other Thoughts: At first I was disappointed in that the mouse and keyboard were not working more than 7 feet away, but then I moved the reciever at the same level (height) as my mouse and keyboard, having the front of it point wherever I was and I got over 20 feet of range.

Pros: The keyboard works. Pretty good design, but the mouse feels bulky.

Cons: The range on this is awful. Absolutely awful. When I have the receiver more than 5 feet away from the keyboard, it starts to not work.

Other Thoughts: This is a good choice if you're keeping it on the desk and not moving it (why would you buy a wireless keyboard if you were doing this?)

Pros: Everything I have used so far has worked well with this keyboard. There is no noticeable lost or laging keystrokes. Fits my hands well especially compared to most ergonomic keyboards. (I have a 12" handspan). Has a working range of at least 10'.

Cons: No NUM-CAPS lock lights. Keys require deeper pressing compared to other slim keyboards I have used.

Other Thoughts: I have no comments for the mouse as I already had a higher quality mouse before purchasing. I would gladly use 4 AA batteries if someone would make a keyboard that would be wireless and have backlight keys.

Pros: Under a hundred dollars. Logitech engineering.

Cons: Expected more. I purchased another Logitech combination keyboard and mouse from ........ for $15.00 dollars less than I paid for this product. I recieved a lot more features with the other product.

Rating + 5 Changing my vote after a bit of usage and testing...

Pros: Price, style (albeit the shade of silver), size/weight and performance. Excellent service from Logitech! - see my updated review of Dinovo Edge and how Logitech sent me a brand new keyboard after more than a year ownership! S520 carries "5 year limited warranty", so we shall see how that compares to "3 year warranty".

Cons: Although it's still better than most "desktop keybarods", unfortunately for S520, we also own Dinovo Edge which is still superior - I can touch type 80wpm and my wife hunts and pecks.

Other Thoughts: We're contemplating building 2 HTPC's and S520 is a strong contender. After reading the reviews about poor range issues, I tested S520 using a tap measure and I can vouch that it works flawlesslessly between 3-8 feet (used a tape measure) and even up to 12 feet if the receiver is about the same relative plane as kb/mouse, but it stops respoding a little much beyond 12 feet. We also own lots of other 2.4ghz gadges in the house - cordless phones, BT gadgets, codless mouse/kb, and wifi. So if you need something more than 8-12 feet from the receiver, consider BT based kb/moouse instead, but it's still a fine kb/mouse when used up to 8 feet from the receiver.

Rating + 5 Awesome, as always

Pros: I've always been a fan of Logitech, and this keyboard/mouse combo doesn't disappoint. The keyboard feels very sturdy, as is the mouse. I've already remapped some of the extra media keys to oft-used programs, which saves searching through menus. Also, the mouse performs better than a previous, higher-quality mouse. And finally, the wireless 'base' has caps, scroll, and numlock indicators - very nice!

Cons: The mouse doesn't have many buttons, but it's not like I need more. Also, the fact that the armrest on the keyboard isn't detachable is somewhat annoying.

Other Thoughts: While there are several comments about the range, I haven't experienced any problems. I don't use many wireless devices in the vicinity (wifi, cordless phones, etc.), nor do I have the wireless 'base' near anything metal. The cord is plenty long enough, just put if somewhere away from interference.
Also, Ubuntu detected the mouse and keyboard immediately, and even mapped the media keys automatically. Sweet!

Rating + 4 2/3 as good as Dinovo Edge for 1/3 the price

Pros: Price.
Style.
Nice short stroke keys.
Nice comfortable mouse (basic, but that's fine by me).
Takes 2 AA batteries each - I have another kb that takes 3 AA's and it drives me nuts when it's time to recharge them!

Cons: Keys are little firmer than I would like and don't feel as "satisfying" as my Denovo Edge.
Would have preferred silver accent.

Other Thoughts: I love my Dinovo Edge and no, this KB doesn't feel as nice as Dinovo Edge, but it's much lower priced. IMO, S520 is perfect for a desktop system, but if you're looking for laptop or HTPC application, I'd suggest you look else where - may I suggest Dinovo Edge or mini for HTPC?

Pros: Excellent keyboard for my home theater PC. Tested range is over 10 feet without lag. Just keep the sensor in a good place. Has a calculator button! Had for about a month and haven't needed to replace the Duracell batteries this keyboard and mouse combo came with.

Cons: uses AA batteries. Mouse looks cheap, but haven't tested it!

Other Thoughts: Initially I was interested in the Dinovo Edge. But after buying this i'm glad I didn't waste my money! I could have bought almost 3 of these for 1 Dinovo Edge!

An ultra capacitor could have been implemented into the hand rest of this keyboard. I don't work for Logitech so they probably will never do such a thing.

Cons: Mouse clicks are a little LOUD, but this product is awesome for the price.

Other Thoughts: GREAT PRODUCT, I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE

Rating + 5 Great for HTPC

Pros: Nice compact design for using as a media center keyboard, works well on your lap or a on a table. Zoom and volume buttons
Mouse is extremely responsive and has very good resolution. Works well on many surfaces. Mouse uses a laser illumination, not red optical.
Programmable buttons on both KB and mouse are nice. I reprogrammed the tilt controls to "forward" and "back" buttons since I don't think I need side scroll.
Zoom and volume buttons are extremely handy for HTPC.
Easy install, software is relatively simple and easy to setup. No issues with touchpad drivers on laptop.

Cons: No side buttons on mouse.

Would rather have a right handed mouse that was more comfortable than an ambidextrous design.

Still worth 5/5.

Other Thoughts: I use this on my laptop hooked up to my home theater. Very convenient overall. Great value. Mine came with Duracell batteries which is a nice touch. Can't comment on battery life yet, but I have used it for about 2 weeks several hours a day and the indicator is still green on both KB and mouse.

Rating + 1 Horrible Range

Pros: I bought this keyboard because of its sleek design and excellent price tag not to mention its brand quality. Now after owning two Logitech devices I am convinced that their quality has gone down hill.

Cons: The range is absolutely horrible. I was unable to even get 3+ feet of range to work out of this bundle of joy. I had to bring it all the way back from 3+ feet to the Desktop to get this puppy working. The major difference is when its up close the mouse is moving fluidly while when you step back a few feet it starts to get very choppy. Not to mention the software that takes control of your computer i.e. everything that has to do with a mouse. I would think by the software taking over that it would give me countless options but it didn’t. It just gave me the same rinky dink options that windows did. The other Logitech device I owned which I mentioned earlier was a Bluetooth mouse. It sucked the battery life faster than my vacuum did dirt. So therefore after these two experiences I will no longer be running to the store buying Logitech devices.

Other Thoughts: My advice, well I am eye balling another keyboard with a rechargeable mouse and 33’ foot range. Sure I guess if you want to see less wire’s on your desk and don’t mind having to keep the keyboard on top of your monitor this is a great buy. But why would you want to see less wire’s for over 50 bucks. Just keep the eye sores and save your money. If you were like me and wanted some flexibility with your wireless keyboard. Do your homework and make sure it does everything you want it to do before you buy.

Pros: Works great. Can sit on my bed about 7-8 feet away and id works as if it were plugged up

Cons: When i bought it I didn't have an AA batteries so i stuck some old ones in and kept it close to the receiver. The next day i bought some new ones and it would not pick up key strokes for a half second every 1 minute or so...So i stuck the old batteries back in and it works great again...WEIRD...

Other Thoughts: I love the keyboard, it doesn't have the snap to the keys like a real laptop keyboard but it is great and the price is amazing considering it has a laser mouse included. No BATTERIES in my box.

Rating + 3 not for HTPC

Pros: Light keyboard, mouse tracks well on a variety of surfaces, slightly firmer key feel than laptop style keyboard but short travel, useful function buttons, nice overall design

Cons: does not work more than 5 feet from receiver and must be directly lined up even then. This makes it not useful for a HTPC, which was why i bought it in the first place.

Other Thoughts: The mouse is not a notebook mouse, it's larger and runs through the same receiver as the keyboard. A very nice keyboard and mouse for the price for typical desk use, just not enough range for home theater use.

Rating + 5 Sleek and Functional

Pros: Sleek, low profile, looks cool! Well thought out without all of the bells and whistles. I like the "push and zoom" scroll feature on the mouse.

Cons: None.

Rating + 1 Terrible for HTPC

Pros: Lots of useful media-centric keys

Cons: TERRIBLE and I mean TERRIBLE range. I got this set for my HTPC setup and it only works from about 3 feet away, and even then it can be a bit laggy. This seems to be meant for a desktop and a desktop only. It's completely unusable from my couch so this one is going back.

Other Thoughts: If they'd just increase the wireless range, this would be a great combo, but currently it is useless for my needs

Rating + 5 Great Keyboard + Mouse Combo

Pros: The keys on the keyboard are low profile, which is great for typing in my opinion. The keys are no exactly like the laptop keys though so don't be mistaken. The keyboard is fairly small and doesn't take a whole lot of room. The mouse is simple and great at the same time.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I don't like keyboards with all the "useless" fireworks and mice with 5 or so buttons, which makes this combo so great. If you are looking for simplicity, yet a great product. You should buy this combo.

Rating + 5 Works great

Pros: * Flat keys.
* Quiet keys.
* Useful extra buttons and not too many of them.
* keyboard uses AA batteries so they last a lot longer.
* Laser mouse works on my desk where-as an optical mouse doesn't.

Cons: * Mouse clicking is noisy (no more that your standard mouse though)

Other Thoughts: I like the flat keys a lot (laptop style). It isn't a big deal for me but the mechanism is still the same as a standard keyboard so you still have to press the keys down just as far.

I also like the escape key on the board. As it's the same size as the f1-12 keys so I never hit it instead of the 1 or ~ keys; it's also separate enough from the function keys that they don't cause a problem.

At the price I paid (on a very good sale) it ended up being more than worth the cost. A set this nice at a local store would cost at least twice as much.

Rating + 3 Great keyboard - initially... went bad in two weeks of use

Pros: I bought this keyboard at other retailer. All seemed rightat first:
-great size and layout
-great low profile keys
-function keys and usable indicators
-great battery life
-loved it, although keys are not exactly of a laptop - keytravel is longer.

Cons: Had to return it in a month because:
- mouse is terrible, including connectivity, ergonomics and functionality
- mouse is huge and has no additional back/fwd or any other that obvious minimum functionality
- keyboard keys stopped responding gradually, first "o", in three days "P" and on it went, keys just stopped responding gradually

Rating + 3 Not quite a laptop keyboard

Pros: Laptop STYLE keyboard. Low Profile, nice quick launch buttons.

Cons: These aren't really laptop scissor keys. They feel more like a regular keyboard does but with laptop clearance on the buttons. Key travel is longer too.

Other Thoughts: I don't understand why no one makes a decent wireless laptop replica keyboard. It seems like you can only get it at the $100+ price point (logitech, sony vaio)

I have a cheap Anyware slim wired keyboard at home that feels more like a laptop keyboard.

I don't know if most users looking for a laptop style keyboard are like me but I am looking for two things.

1) Very little key travel and
2) Really light key force.

I guess I will just stick with my Anyware that newegg doesn't sell anymore.

Rating + 5 Perfect

Pros: keyboard is slim, quiet, comfortable, and perfect for anyone who wants a laptop keyboard feel when not using a laptop

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I purchased this keyboard a month ago from another vendor because newegg did not stock it yet, and I haven't been able to use any other keyboard since, its perfect, comfortable and doesn't take up too much room like my previous keyword, the logitech wave.
