Pros: 1. Absolutely flawless picture. 2. Flexibility...it's a TV! it's a monitor! No, it's both! 3. 3 yr. warranty from the factory. 4. Picture In Picture (you got your TV in my computer!) 5. Does-it-all remote. 6. Killer value for the price. 7. Did I mention the flawless picture?
Cons: 1. No DVI cable in the box. 2. S-video and Composite inputs inconveniently placed. 3. SCART connector doesn't work with S-video to SCART adapter I bought to get around Con #1. 4. Slow resyncing to DVI. (Probably an HDCP thing) 4. Speakers are just okay.
Other Thoughts: I've been in the market for a "do it all" LCD for a while, and the 940MW seemed to be a perfect fit. And it's throughly lived up to my expectations.
The S-video and composite video on the side isn't a design choice I would have made, but I see why they did: nowadays, devices that plug in to those are in the league of digital cameras, DV camcorders, iPods, and the like--things that you plug in, do what you want to do, then unplug and switch back to your higher quality DVI, RGB or component sources.
If I ever feel the need to upgrade, this will be an excellent TV wherever it ends up. It's even got both HDCP-capable DVI and component, so I can plug an outboard HD tuner.
My second Samsung monitor (but first LCD), and their perfect batting average continues. Keep making 'em like this, Samsung, and you've got a customer.

Pros: Works Excellently. Nice Picture, and its great not having your TV slowing down your computer or vice versa.
Cons: The first one I got wouldnt start after about a month. Heard rumblings about huge power supply issues with these things at first. After I started reading other reviews on newegg (today) I noticed that it does have a very slight difference with the brightness at the top and bottom of the screen, although I didnt notice it for 6 months until I read about the problem with other monitors.
Other Thoughts: Samsung was good about replacing with a new one and shipping both ways, although I had to drive to a UPS store to avoid giving a credit card number as collateral. Seeing as there's no other reviews mentioning that on here, it looks like the problem is gone, personally my new one has held up for the last 6 months just fine.

Great monitor with only a few flaws
Pros: For all the features you get on the specs sheet, this monitor is worth every penny. It's also bright, but not blinding, vivid, but not painful. There's a plethora of options to choose from, and like modern TV's, comes with a few preset options to change your viewing conditions depending on your activity.
Cons: Speakers are of meh quality, but it has Dobly Virtual Surround Sound and this BBE (which for some reason, BBE makes the quality appear to sound better), but what can you expect from monitor speakers? AV cable and S-Video inputs are in a weird position. The monitor also likes it's own scaling method, and it took me a while to get it happy with 1440x900. Lastly, there's a long lag between switching to and from TV inputs to DVI.
Other Thoughts: I can get past the flaws. And for the price, it's worth every penny.

940MW-SV LCD TV/MON
Pros: It works exactly as represented. No surprises whatsoever. Overall quality very high and had all the interfaces to do what I needed. Sound is incredible for this type of product.
Cons: None with the product. Setup was easy and without any problems. Operation is intuitive and front panel access to everything necessary.
Other Thoughts: Rebate is slow.

Great Product!
Pros: I researched for quite a while and could not find a better deal with so many pros: Multiple input capabilities, good size at a great price, good picture quality for tv. I am a college student and just use it for a tv for cable and gaming. Ps2 through component looks great, also hook up gamecube s-vid, and a dvd player through dvi (720p) all more epic than a standard tv! No dead pixels.
Cons: It would be nice to angle the screen up and down for more viewing angles. I know its made for a computer screen, but an audio input for dvi would make it perfect! I have to hook up up through an external amplifer, but is not THAT bid of a deal because I have one.
Other Thoughts: I have not hooked it up to a desktop, but if I ever get one down the road to replace my laptop, It will be a superb monitor! 3 year warrenty a plus, and newegg.com has the best prices anywhere! For earlier cable complaint, you need to program any new tv to your cable provider, easily done through menu/tv options.

Monitor & HDTV
Pros: Primary use is for computer monitor and cad drawings. Excellent! Nice to touch the button on the remote and flip to HDTV for a break from work (just don't get caught!) Easy setup, just follow directions. Included "Magic Bright" software is great - makes adjusting monitor very easy and quick. Audio is adequate from built in spkrs, and has bass/treble control. I'm very well pleased with this monitor.
Cons: Ext video/audio connectors on side of monitor are an eye sore with cables connected!!!! Vertical tilt angle not adequate if you need to tilt monitor downward, will have to put a wedge shim under the base. Moot points, just bugs me.
Other Thoughts: Finally found some 90 degree male to female connectors for all the side connectors on the monitor. Cleans it up micely, and doesn't look like a rat's nest of wires hanging out of the side of this beautiful monitor.

BEST HDTV / BEST MONITOR
Pros: I researched products for a long time. And let me tell you this one is the best there is. I was really thinking I was going to buy the samsung LN-S1951W that came out not too long ago. I really did not want to spend $xxxthough. I stumbled upon this one and it is perfect. All these features for only $xxx ITS GREAT
Cons: The only con i could possibly think of is that there is only one component input, and one composite input (which they put on the side). If the composite was on the back i think i would use it but i just got a switch so i can use all component. This is not a problem if you only want this as a monitor or tv, but if you are like me and have many game consoles to plug in then it gets a little frustrating.
Other Thoughts: Great T.V. Best buy you can get for the money. For $xxx you can not even buy the cheap polaroid 19" at circuit city. But this is many times better than that T.V. and it is cheaper. What more could you ask for. This is the best T.V. in the small TV/Monitor category, but it is such a good TV that it is the best in that category too. What more could you want?

Samsung 940MW an excellent Monitor
Pros: Built in sound. Awesome compatability with different video input types. Can be used for XBox 360, DVD player, Television (satellite or cable) and of course as a computer monitor. Good response time. XBox 360 games look a million times better than standard 480 television.
Cons: A little backlight bleed that is only really noticible when screen is black, but this is to be excpected in a monitor/TV at this pricepoint.
Other Thoughts: This monitor/tv is a perfect substitute for an LCD TV of similar size. You would expect to pay $xxx or more for a television of similar size and quality.

Almost Perfect
Pros: We purchased 4 of these for use with PS/2 game units in a retail store enviornment. Overall, a great monitor. Have purchased 30+ Samsung displays for our company over the past three years -- zero defects, zero dead pizels and a rock-solid three year exchange warranty through Samsung.
Cons: To get a decent quality picture using a PS/2, an upgrade to an S-video hookup (apx. $15-$20) is mandatory. Display seems to wash out in bright lighting compared to PC-only monitors like the Samsung 740 or 920.
Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a PC/TV combo -- or even for a small TV for use without a PC -- this is an excellent choice. Even with its few display issues noted above, its overall picture quality blows away similar size LCD TV only screens that sell for up to twice the price.

Samsung 940MW
Pros: Excellent as PC monitor (bright and crisp). HD/TV picture quality good. Sound quality excellent. Excellent if you plan to use as a second monitor on your PC.
Cons: Picture quality is poor when using STD cable input (not HD) displayed full screen. However when you use the PIP feature the the picture quality is very good. That is how I use mine most of the time.
Other Thoughts: I use this Monitor/TV as a secomd monitor to expand my desktop area and to allow me to watch TV at the same time. In most cases I use the PIP mode which shrinks the picture and greatly improves clarity. I return the first monitor that I received to Samsung due to poor STD/TV picture quality but the replacement was no better. I must say that Samsung Customer Service is excellent to deal with.

Best monitor/hdtv for the money
Pros: This monitor is replacing both my 21"CRT and my 13"TV, and I gotta say, it does a superb job. The Picture-in-picture is invaluable. The HDTV quality is amazing and the PC resolution fits this monitor quite well. I have only played COD2 on it so far but this monitor does the game justice. Standard TV signal is OK using composite input (have not tried coax). The menu is pretty easy to use and contains enough tweaking features to apease most users. The monitor was packaged very well. Includes D-sub, audio, and power cables. Multiple inputs. Picture In Picture. Remote control. Good, sturdy, detachable base.
Cons: No huge complaints, just a couple of little things. 1. A/V inputs on the side of the monitor. What do manufacturers do this? It's a shame to buy such a beautiful piece of hardware only to have multiple wires sticking out the side. If you are using this monitor where ascetics are a concern, stick with the component inputs on the back. But, like I said, this is a minor problem. 2. The second issue seems to be a popular one; 16:10 aspect ratio. It's weird, and takes some getting used to. But once you have everything set right, you won't notice. For example; I set my DVD player software to force 16:10 and the picture looks perfect. 16:9 was fuzzy and stretched all wacky. Just play with it, it doesn't look as bad as some have led on.
Other Thoughts: This monitor fit all of my needs at a price that I couldn't beat. If you are in the market for a high quality monitor with great addition features. Buy this. If you are in the market for a small LCD HDTV. Buy this. You will not find one anywhere near this price with this quality. If you are in the market for a standard definition TV, go to your local department store and buy a glass tube set. This unit is not for you.

Fantasmic!!!11
Pros: I am an incoming college freshman, and I will be living in campus dorms. I was in the market for an LCD tv to save space, but quickly realized how expensive they were. I then pursued the route of buying a lcd monitor for my laptop (because they are cheaper), as well a s a tv tuner. I then realized how complicated this was, because there are so many types of tv tuners, and I would then need speakers. I then stumbled upon the Samsung 940mw tv/monitor here on newegg. It looked great. I mean, it was basically an all in one. It looked awesome, and let me tell you, it is. Picture quality is lovely, sound is stupendous. PIP is a nifty little plus. In the end, I am more than happy.
Cons: None...really. For laptops, just remember to use the "Fn" key plus "F8" or whatever your "CRT/LCD" button is, to switch between your laptop screen to the monitor. It doesn't let you know this in the monitor.
Other Thoughts: !!!

940 MW=Happy
Pros: This lcd as a tv has excellent picture quality (using now to play old xbox and 360 in hd), it is also a great pc monitor. No problems with it at all and it's easy to switch from pc to tv or the different inputs with the included remote.
Cons: 16:10 takes a little while to get used to and it hasn't cured cancer, yet.
Other Thoughts: The 8ms response, sharp, high resolution/contrast,screen is perfect for console and pc games without and saves some space.

The Complete Package
Pros: The 1440x900 resolution is a great step up from my old 1280x1024. The colors are absolutely amazing! I put in Monster's Inc. and used the THX optimizer to adjust the video and it made a wo,rld of difference. Everything is super sharp, but the thing that sold it for my was the inputs! Everything you need: component, composite, s-video, dvi, vga! Perfect for my 360 and soon to be perfect for HDTV,gotta order the service :)
Cons: a little bit of backlight leak on the top and bottom, only noticeable on blacks.
Other Thoughts: Would be nice to have HDMI.

My 940MW
Pros: No downside - Everything works like it should & better - Even the TV - you have 3 sizes to set TV at All are good.
Cons: Don't have any - Does not come with a DVI cable - so buy one New Egg has good ones 10ft. for $15.00 or so.
Other Thoughts: The Name sells this Monitor, when you buy it you will see why. As a Monitor it was so Bright I had to turn it down & as a TV i watch it now - NOT my Sony Wega. It's more then the Best -I'll never go back to a CRT. i Get To Watch TV When The Grand Kids come over - Think about it-It's the Best

Pros: Works great as a monitor. Looks good, but not as good as higher-end LCDs. Overall impressive image quality.
Cons: Almost useless for any 16:9 HD input. Monitor is 16:10 so it stretches the image. There is no option for overscan compensation or letterboxing.
Other Thoughts: One of the best widescreen monitors in it's price class. The lack of any 16:10 to 16:9 input controls are a glaring oversight, as no HD signal is this monitor's aspect ratio, effectively making it useless as a "TV" if anyone notices it.
