Are you sure it's in stock?
Pros: The monitors (I had two) were nice, but had some dead/bright pixels. I thought this was par for the course, but a recently purchased 30" monitor, by a different, two-letter brand, has ZERO bad pixels.
Cons: Samsung's Support: Monitor dies in warranty. 5 months of getting the runaround, and having to report them to the BBB before finally getting a refund check. They said they don't have any replacements in stock!
Other Thoughts: I had 2 305Ts. They both died after 1.5 years.

Broke After 2 Years
Pros: This monitor was awesome when I purchased it in August of '07, and ran every game I could throw at it. 2560 x 1600 allows for the perfect work environment, as I could open several apps at once. It made Photoshop SOO easy with that much real estate.
Cons: Last week however, it began to run a zillion fine black lines about 7" long in the middle, and after that, the whole left side just started to go dark. I'm about to contact Samsung as it's still under warranty, but from what other customers are saying, it looks like this might be a huge debacle.
Other Thoughts: Samsung makes awesome monitors; there's no doubt about that. I happen to own 5 smaller LCD's, and have never had a problem (this is my only 305T). Both of my TV's are also Samsung. Not sure what happened with the design of this particular model, but until they resolve the problems some of us seem to have, I'd hold off.

My Samsung Ordeal
Pros: Large screen estate, solid monitor while still working
Cons: It failed after 1.5 years of operation, still in warranty. The most horrible customer service experience for a 1,300 dollar product.
Other Thoughts: To give you some background - I do video games and digital photography for living and I rely on high end equipment. My ordeal so far: 1. I purchased my monitor here in 06/2008. 2. End of 11/2009, the monitor gets green stripes and I send it for repair. 3. A week later monitor comes back in same condition. 4. I haul it downtown for a diagnostic - confirmed it's broken, exactly the same way as before "repair". 5. For second time I send the monitor to Samsung. 6. After holidays Samsung sends me an email they never received the monitor. 7. I call Samsung - they inform me the monitor arrived physically damaged to facility and they will send me pictures. 6. After 4 calls to Samsung still no pictures but they offer to send me the physically damaged monitor. ...... (things turn surreal, I record all conversations) 20. Two months have passed I am suing them in small claims court and also involving BBB. 21. I will never buy a Samsung product again

LOVED IT - THEN IT BROKE
Pros: GREAT SCREEN (WHEN IT WORKS)
Cons: worked flawlessly for over a year and a half, then starting showing crazy color/image distortions. sent it back to SAMSUNG, wasn't sure if i would ever see it or my money back, and waited. i went through SAMSUNG CUSTOMER SERVICE HELL because those people at samsung have no idea what is going on, they can't even tell me the right phone number - they actually gave me a phone number to a different company that had nothing to do with my return. finally yesterday after waiting 3 months and 3 days exactly, a check for the full price actually came in the mail. I SERIOUSLY CANNOT BELIEVE IT REALLY SHOWED UP! life on a 24" just isn't the same.
Other Thoughts: I still give 3 stars for performing so well and getting a full refund, the two star penalty comes from SAMSUNG'S TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. ALSO: GOT A "REFUND" FROM SERVICE NET FOR THE 1 YR EXTENDED WARRANTY, WHICH IS STILL 1 YEAR FROM EVEN BECOMING ACTIVE. SO 50% OF ENTIRE PRODUCT WARRANTY HAS PASSED (2 years passed, total warranty 4 yrs = 3 yr Samsung + 1 Yr Service Net), 0% OF SERVICE NET EXTENDED WARRANTY HAS PASSED, AND THE REFUND WAS FOR < 2% OF THE PRICE!!! WOW!!!

So far so good
Pros: It's big, just like any other hi-res 30" LCD. If you want a large desktop area, this is the monitor for you.
It's also quite bright.
The 2560 x 1600 resolution will change the way you work, even more so if you have a second monitor (mine is a 20" 4:3 rotated, giving me a 3760 x 1600 desktop on 2 monitors).
The 4-port USB hub is quite nice. It's perfect to hang my Huey Pro and web cam off of, plus the dongles for my mouse and keyboard.
Cons: The only control is brightness. There are no other user settings, an no software. Your video card will need to do the work.
Game support (especially older games) can be spotty, especially at full resolution.
Limited connection options. Only one DVI input and nothing else. No HDMI at all.
Other Thoughts: I've only had mine for 3 days and so far it's been perfect so far. I'm a bit worried there might be issues when I read the other reviews and customer service woes. My monitor was made in November 2009, so maybe Samsung got the quality back, or at least upgraded them or fixed the underlying issues. A 3-year warranty is nice to have, but useless if the company's customer service stinks. I guess I'll see in 18 months, which seems to be the point where issues crop up.
Overall, if you've got the coin and don't mind a possible risk of issues and warranty claim fun, it's still the most reasonable option out there for huge monitors.

Failed under warranty; 6-mo later still not resolved
Pros: Big display. No dead or stuck pixels on arrival. 2560x1600 = lots of desktop. It will change the way you work ... far less alt-tabbing between apps since you can spread your work out and have a better view of the windows. But these Pros are not inherent to this product alone ... any 30" LCD monitor can have these.
Cons: It worked great for the first 1.5 yr ... and then failed. It was under warranty so I contacted Samsung's Customer Service.
And then hell began.
I waited three weeks to get a return shipping label emailed to me, and had to prompt them to do so three times (each time I called was after the "5 business days" they told me to expect to see the label - email takes 5 days?).
I shipped the monitor to their designated repair facility, and after a month of no news, I called and was told the monitor could not be repaired. I was then put in line for a replacement (none in stock and no telling when/if they would be in stock - was it even still being mfg'd?).
After two more months, I asked for a refund. Out of the blue, a refurbished unit appeared on my doorstep. The refurbished unit had a gouge in the glass and bezel (it was not shipping damage) and failed after 30 min. I called customer service and was told to take it up with the refurbish facility directly; "it was not their pro
Other Thoughts: I escalated the ticket. Again I waited for a shipping label to be emailed. Eventually, I was told that they don't ship defective units from where I live (really? they did it once before!). Instead, I was asked to mail them the serial number plate and the male end of the power cord (which doesn't make sense - it's a modular cable) before they would release my refund - they would not even provide a shipping label for these items.
In other news: The screen panel is PVA type, and is not very good for gaming. The monitor has significant input lag ~36ms (due to the panel type and scalar tech) and ghosting is evident. It is best suited for office work where one can spread out their work windows.
When it fails (and at this price this is definitely not a disposable monitor) expect to deal with horrible customer service. After the treatment I've received, I cannot honestly recommend this or any Samsung product.

One and a half years later
Pros: I have been using the SyncMaster 305T monitor in my office for a year and a half now. Everything about this monitor is first class. No dead pixels and the best brightness/contrast combination I've ever experienced. The color reproduction is gorgeous and small print stands out clearly and is easy to read. I have to have four to eight applications on the desktop simultaneously and move data between them. This Samsung meets the challenge and I highly recommend it to anyone needing a lot of desktop real estate.
Cons: It puts out a fair amount of heat so keep it where it can breath.
Other Thoughts: I only wish that the industry would craft a larger, higher resolution standard for general production.

A Great Big Monitor
Pros: It's BIG. That's what I wanted. I'm using a GeForce 9800 GTX Dual-Link DVI with it and it works great. I like this much better than having two small monitors. Everything is right there and you can resize without feeling like you're squeezing things. I bought it from Newegg for a good price. Full resolution.
Cons: It's BIG. As the user said before, it's a lot of real estate so be prepared to speed up your mouse/cursor motion. I noticed a possible convergence misadjustment on a "blank" screen. It probably can ge adjusted out. I've never noticed this with movies or graphics on the screen.
Other Thoughts: If you like a big screen with plenty of room and full resolution with quick response times, this is a very good choice. I haven't seen any defects in the screen. I play a little Ghost Recon on it and it's really nice. Also, it's bigger than the screen on my wife's 24" iMac, which reduces my envy factor.

Wow
Pros: This thing rocks. It is perfect. Not a single bad pixel that I can see!
Cons: It creates a bit of heat! Requires DVI-D video card connector to reach 2560x1600.

Don't buy the open box value
Pros: Big, beautiful and cheap
Cons: Only if it worked properly. One thing in the fine print hidden is that open box values do not come with accessories. It wasn't a huge deal but that was the first kicker. Soon as I pull the 305T out the box I noticed a paper clip wedged into the adjustable stand. Odd, but it seemed to work. When I plugged it in using my DVI cable from my old monitor (non-Dual link) I noticed right away a double ring discoloration right above the logo reminiscent of the pattern that a monitor creates when you press on it about an inch and half wide that's omnipresent. Its likely a defect that occurred by physical damage of the previous party.
Needless to say I'm RMAing it and getting my money back.
Other Thoughts: Seemed to be nice but I didn't get to see it in its 2560 x 1600 glory. The only resolution it supports with a single channel DVI cable is 1280 x 800. Lesson learned, don't buy the
