Whats going on!?
Pros: This is not a TN panel for one, it has a 178/178 viewing angle, and it is impossible for a TN panel to have a viewing angle over 170, and usually its 160/160, or 170/160 or 170/150. This clearly states in the specifications and I even researched the model # online, its 178/178. A TN panel would also not have the 400 cd/m2, and NO TN PANEL @ 24 INCHES COSTS THIS MUCH ONLY PVA PANELS DO. This may be a CPVA panel, which is no where near as nice as S-PVA. Maybe even MVA? I'm just trying to clear things up, its hit or miss with these panels, but I know too much about TN panels because I hate them and avoid them at all costs so I've researched them so thoroughly as to know every single little detail so I can always spot one through specifications when I can't see the panel in person.
Cons: I'm not sure where people are getting the 160/150, 170/160 viewing angles, seems every person thinks this thing has a different viewing angle, yet not one person has listed the correct angle, which is stated in so many reviews for this model as 178/178. It must be a placebo type thing here, where they think its a bad viewing angle because they think its a TN so therefor they see a worse picture in their head? I don't know, I'm really stretching this because I can't seem to make sense of it. Did they happen to update this model and keep the same model number for some reason? Remember, no TN panel can have 178/178 viewing angle, and this does, so therefor its not a TN panel. Newegg, we're adults here, we're adults in order to buy, what is up with the insane word filter? Commonly used, non swear words are not even allowed, this is America and we're adults, what gives?
Other Thoughts: NEC seems to be a bit behind in the LCD race, their housing looks like something from the original LCDs back in the day... LOL back in the day, for LCD... Time is flying.
My main monitor is a DoubleSight 24 inch 1920x1200 S-PVA monitor with a 178/178 viewing angle. S-PVA is by far my absolute favorite. In my opinion its superior to S-IPS panels, H-IPS panels and maybe IPS Alpha panels. The contrast and color display totally rocks IPS's world! You will be drooling over the color depth, sharpness, and the vivid real world look to the images. Text is super super sharp. The DoubleSight company uses Samsung Panels as well, and Samsung is known for their incredible S-PVA panels. The monitor was 599.00 in December 2007. Dell is selling it now for 579. S-PVA monitors HOLD THEIR VALUE LIKE NONE OTHER! :) w00t is a w00t but a t00t for a h00t can't beat the w00t, won't eat the w00t and certainly can't stop the w00t. But it will worship the w00t. Kthx.

Good Monitor
Pros: Solid, consistent gamma & contrast. Generally uniform display
Cons: Weak gamma and brightness for movies.
Other Thoughts: Versatile inputs and professional packaging.

Another cheap TN panel to avoid
Pros: Intregrated speakers. Looks good.
Cons: TN panel. The following are true for all TN panels, including this monitor: Very uncomfortable to use for text. Light leaks around the pixels. Colors shift violently as your viewing angle changes, dark becomes light, light becomes dark. Viewing angle is listed as 160-170 degrees, but in reality, it is more like 60 degrees max. Homogeneous view is impossible to achieve when you're looking at a 24" monitor from 2 or 3 feet away. 24" TN panels should not even be available for sale.
Other Thoughts: Avoid at all costs. Spend a little more, and you can get a PVM or an IPS panel.

Two of three need repair in a year
Pros: 3 year warranty
Cons: I bought three of these for my office a year ago. After just a few weeks, one started having problems with colored lines jumping and wiggling all over the screen. Had to ship it in for replacement. Now, a second one has started having problems where the screen will flicker and jump, changing colors, turning red, and shimmering. I'll have to send it in too.
Other Thoughts: Not impressed with the reliability, but the 3-year warranty is good.

Spend More Money - Much More
Pros: Finding an acceptable monitor today is tough as quality has really gone down with the cheap TN panels which are grossly cartoonish looking, washed out, and even slight angle viewing is embarrassing distorted. What to do? This panel is the least expensive 24" that may even remotely be remotely acceptable. Not sure what panel type it is, but colors are accurate and realistic, text is marginal though.
Cons: Cheap decor and stand, menus are poor. I still had to return this monitor for a more expensive IPS panel, but I also returned two others that were known TN panels and much worse yet (one was highly rated - $420) and both were a joke - literally!!!! Return shipping and restocking fees add up!!!
Other Thoughts: Spend the money!!!! You have to spend more than you used to for a good 24" panel. TOTALLY AVOID TN panels, some times hard to determine from the specs, but they typically have <5ms response times, and viewing angles that are 160-170*. I have an older 24 Acer that is an S-PVA, very good. I now settled for an HP IPS panel (EXCEPTIONAL TEXT, colors can't be toned down quite enough, a little short on brightness/contrast). I recommend spending $1000+ on a 24" monitor, or go smaller. It's like speakers for your audio system where 1/2 price of system should be for the speakers - almost the same for your monitor.

Excellent!
Pros: Great color and brightness! No dead/stuck pixels.
Cons: It's weird but sometimes when there is an animated .gif on a webpage, if it's in a certain region of the screen, it sometimes affects the brightness of the rest of the display. It's like during some of the animations frames, it'll drop the brightness by 1 then go back to normal. Weird but not a deal breaker for me as it doesn't happen often.

Good monitor for price
Pros: Gigantic! has lots of inputs, matte screen is excellent for anti-glare.
Cons: I can see the monitor 'refresh line'. Not a big deal, but it's kind of annoying

Great monitors at a good price
Pros: I've bought two of these monitors and have had them for over a half year now and couldn't be happier. Black levels are good for movies and video games and color levels in my experience have been good for Photoshop and Illustrator. Thanks to the high resolution I am able to open up 9 terminals or text editors on one screen easily so it's really nice for programming too.
Aesthetically it's a really nice looking monitor. All black except for some writing, but it still really looks nice.
Cons: Three problems but nothing serious. One of the two monitors has a stuck red pixel. I put the monitor on as the secondary monitor and because it's near the lower right corner I hardly ever notice it. It would have been worse if that was my main monitor as it easily showed up when I was watching a movie but I can't really take off an egg for that because it doesn't bother me. This is a problem with LCD monitors and you take the risk with any of them.
Secondly, I have my Xbox 360 hooked up to my monitor and unlike my old monitor which I just had to quickly press a button to change the input, I have to use the OSD to change. While not a major inconvenience and I've gotten used to it.
And finally, the height adjustment... there is none. I have them on a stand that raises them 6 inches above my keyboard. Depending on your setup you may have to do the same. Just be prepared that you may have to do something about it.
Other Thoughts: Overall, I'd recommend this monitor. I can't tell you how much being able to open multiple text editors and a few terminals and have them all show up without overlap has been. It's definitely a plus. Even for the non-programmers it's nice for writing reports and using photoshop and illustrator on a nice large screen is always a plus.

Very pleased; only time will tell.
Pros: 1920x1200 400 cd/m2 VGA, DVI-D, HDMI & composite video VGA & DVI-D cables included
Cons: A height-adjustable stand is the only deficiency that I've found. I hope it lasts as long as the 12-year-old, 16-inch CRT it replaces.
Other Thoughts: Ordered Sunday, shipped Monday, delivered Wednesday. Assembly was simple and easy: just lower the monitor onto the base and it snaps into place. DVI-D connector had adequate clearance. My EVGA 8500GT (also purchased from New Egg) handled the NEC just fine; I didn't have to touch any of the OSD controls. The Hubble NGC 3324 image makes a nice desktop walllpaper.

Excellent 24" TN Panel
Pros: A fast, bright, matte-finish panel, with excellent whites and blacks, very good saturation and contrast, and decent (though not perfect) color gamut. Provides excellent connection options, including a physical button to switch between sources and intelligent scaling for all inputs. The built-in speakers have a limited frequency response, but are adequate for listening to TV dialog or system beeps. Audio inputs and outputs are provided for routing sound to external speakers, including a digital S/PDIF output. Control buttons are front and center, clearly labeled, and easy to use. The power LED, while blue, is not overbearing and toggles to a faint amber on stand-by. Cables provided include DVI, VGA, and analog audio.
Cons: This is a 6-bit TN type panel, which has a fast response time but suffers from the inherent limitations of the technology, namely limited color gamut and narrow viewing angle. The viewing angle is listed online as 178 degrees, but that's measured with a lenient reference of CR>5. A standard reference of CR>10 results in a realistic viewing angle of 160 degrees, which is listed correctly in the manual. The colors are decent with good saturation, although some banding can be seen in smooth gradients. The stand is adequate, but only offers tilt adjustment, not height.
Other Thoughts: The selling points for me were the matte finish (I've tried to tolerate glossy displays with no success), the wide variety of connection options with intelligent scaling (and physical source button, as opposed to navigating a menu), and the fact that only one reviewer so far has mentioned receiving dead pixels (I REALLY didn't want any dead pixels, and was willing to pay a premium for the better odds and a brand name with 3 year warranty and excellent customer support).
Driven by HD source, this panel looks absolutely incredible. You do have to view it from a sweet spot, but what a sweet spot! HDTV, Blu-ray, and PC games look fantastic at WUXGA resolution, and the resulting pixel pitch at 24" is perfect for displaying text at a comfortable size. The picture is bright and vibrant with excellent whites and blacks, and can be adjusted to suit a huge range of viewing environments. Unless you've been spoiled by professional PVA/IPS panels, this LCD's image won't disappoint. While there a

The Best for the Price
Pros: The brightness and contrast is un-believable. I couldn't believe that this was only $450. In my mind, this could be compared to the Apple 23" monitors.....which are $800!!!
If you're looking for a big monitor, but you're watching your budget, I say look no further.
(perfect for video editing by the way)
Cons: The HDMI takes a while to switch over to (10 Seconds) but that's hardly a con....and for the DVI vs VGA, the monitor uses a "PC Mode" which auto-detects which port to use (kind of a pain when you have both plugged in)
Other Thoughts: This thing easily stands up to monitor's in the $1000 range....if you're looking for any type of monitor under $1000 I highly recommend this one.
(comes with a DVI and VGA cable)

Bad color gradients
Pros: Lots of inputs
1:1 pixel mapping allows a you to display 1080p and not suffer from stretch images
Also allows scaling of images to fit screen while keeping aspect ratio
These are the only reasons why it even has 2 eggs.
Nice looking panel
Tech support is helpful and trained. Best experience I've had when dealing with multiple techs over multiple sessions.
Cons: All eggs were lost because it has the worst color gradients I've seen on a monitor. I've had really REALLY cheap no-name brand monitors that reproduced colors better than this. I've seen better gradients on 16bit monitors. At least they dither the image.
I'm not the only person who thinks so http://www.maximumpc.com/article/reviews/nec_24wmcx
Other Thoughts: If you care at ALL about games looking good or movies or really anything looking good, don't get this monitor. If you just want a CHEAP solution so you can hook you PS3 up to your computer monitor, then it's an ok monitor.
Settings are a hassle. Input switching is SLOW and a hassle. If you connect 2 computers, 1 D-Sub (a.k.a. VGA) and 1 DVI, you have to go through menus to get to the DVI, it defaults to D-Sub and the source button just cycles between PC-mode (DVI or VGA), component and HDMI.
HDMI input is fuzzy. I did not put this in the con section because it may be that mine has a bad HDMI port. The red signal is also not aligned properly.

Great Monitor for the Price
Pros: I've now ordered about 15 of these monitors for my office - no complaints from anyone. Nice size, good picture, ample inputs. Out of the entire batch of monitors, only 1 dead pixel *total*.
Cons: Nothing at all against this particular monitor, but in this price range you should know that you're not finding a monitor with true color representation. Thus I can't recommend this monitor for designers.
The casing isn't as sexy as some other monitors in this range like the Samsungs.
Other Thoughts: I'll continue to make this my standard office monitor purchase.

very nice
Pros: Very nice, large, bright monitor. Solid stand. Lots of input options. Pretty decent onscreen display menus with a good amount of configurable settings.
Cons: Manual could explain the settings in more detail.
Other Thoughts: NewEgg shipped very quickly. Arrived the second day. Ships in its original box.

Exactly what I need
Pros: The size is such a great asset when working that I would find it hard to go back. I do a lot of coding, so I hook this up to my macbook - and VIM never looked better =P.
I don't use this monitor for any seriously graphics-intensive purposes, but everything I've seen is great. Great contrast/brightness/color balance after tweaking.
Cons: Small viewing angle, but I don't personally care about that - it's more than sufficient for my purposes.
Included stand is a bit more flimsy than I would prefer, but definitely use-able.
Other Thoughts: Get a computer with a good graphics card if you want to drive this display and do some serious visual work - my computer's integrated graphics sputters when using complex screensavers (but is fine for movies, I assume because of built-in H.264 help).

Pros: Great Display, No Dead Pixels, Buttons aren't hard to use like older NEC monitors.
Cons: It runs a bit hot, ~ 110° F in a 78° F Room.
Other Thoughts: Color and Brightness was off out of the box but is easily corrected.

Bought it for extended desktop/TV alternative
Pros: I love this monitor - resolution is good, everything is great. Same as the other users, I had to tweak the settings for a while to get adjust it to my liking.
Cons: I tried plugging my Wii into the monitor and the picture is in B&W. I'm not going to bash the monitor because I'm 100% sure that this is due to my own incompetence. Does anyone know how to get it to show up it color?

Awesome monitor, great price
Pros: Sharp, large, colorful 24" monitor for a great price. DVI, HDMI, and also has component connectors for hooking up an Xbox 360, PS3, or Wii (or other electronic device). I use this for PC and Xbox 360 gaming and the games look great on it after a bit of settings tweaking. Still portable enough to carry around.
Cons: Takes some time to adjust contrast, brightness, and colors to suit your viewing pleasure. Speakers aren't great, but most people have their own PC speaker setup anyway. Wish it came with a remote to remotely switch input sources, instead of having to press the buttons on the monitor.

Excellent Display at an Excellent Price
Pros: extremely large, great options within on screen menu, brilliant color, bright, awesome resolution at 24", high connectivity, price, wide viewing angle
Cons: as others have stated the HDMI port is poorly located; very low clearance between the base stand and the HDMI port. you'll have to pre bend your HDMI cable and then insert it - no problem with a quality cable (I have a 3' dynex I got for 30 bucks) also if you want to use it as a tv, no remote (of course it's not meant as a stand alone TV), and of course terrible doesn't even begin to describe the speakers but if you're serious about audio/video you won't use any sort of HD display's built in speakers.
Other Thoughts: I am building a high end system over the next few weeks, buying the parts as the prices and shipping dip low, I bit on this once the shipping was free and in the meantime I am using it as an HDTV via HDMI. though there are far larger LCD tv's this unit's size is awesome for your standard living room - if you're checking out tv's at a retail store even 32's look tiny next to the 50+"s they usually place them next to. Also using it with a Wii (component cable) and am very happy with that as well, imagine it would be excellent w/ a PS3/360 as well. mine had zero dead pixels. this is a great display at an excellent price. highly recommended

NEC ASLCD24WMCX-BK
Pros: THIS MONITOR HAS ALOT OF EXTRA FEATURES THAT MOST LCD MONITORS DO NOT HAVE AT THIS PRICE POINT. THREE YEAR WARRANTY. ZERO DEAD PIXELS OR NONE THAT I CAN NOTICE.
Cons: MY MONITOR DOES NOT TILT UP OR DOWN. FROM PREVIOUS REVIEWS, I READ THIS MONITOR TILTS. MY MONITOR DID NOT COME WITH ANY HARDWARE THAT WOULD ALLOW ONE TO ADJUST. SURE I CAN GO OUT AND BUY A NEW STAND TO DO SO BUT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO SO AT THE PRICE I PAID. THIS MONITOR ALSO IS NOT THE EASIEST TO MAKE COLOR/CONTRAST CHANGES, ETC.
Other Thoughts: THIS MONITOR WAS PROBABLY NOT THE BEST BUY FOR THE MONEY. SINCE THIS PURCHASE, I HAVE SEEN MANY NICE 22" MONITORS FOR AROUND $225.00 OR LESS. AT LEAST I DID ONE THING RIGHT WHEN I PURCHASED A ROSEWILL LCD SCREEN CLEANING KIT AS A BONUS FOR AROUND $8.00

good monitor
Pros: Nothing wrong for usual use. Beautiful picture, wide display area to place many windows, crisp characters even with 5x8 charcter size of cmd terminal windows.
Cons: you don't want to keep the power cable connected it in your bedroom. Built-in speakers are not as good as even low end external speaker set, so you would never think to use it anway. (If you can buy this product, you should be able to easily afford better speakers.) NEC should remove it and lower overall cost even for a few bucks.

good monitor
Pros: The size, though I came from a 17" viewsonic to 24" of pure glory. Plenty of inputs.
Cons: Stand is wobbly and does require some tweaking of the color settings. I've preferred to use the built-in color correction wizard with nvidia drivers with this monitor and a previous LCD monitor, seems to correct the color nicely.
Other Thoughts: Overall, I think the quality is decent for the price...Bioshock looks amazing!

good for the price
Pros: Great price. NEC name. Pretty clear and bright except for a small problem with consistency. Great for text, I suppose ok for gaming.
Cons: Poor for photo viewing. At first I did not notice, but when I viewed the same photo tiled in the background I could see a big difference in brightness between the top part and the bottom part of the monitor. With adjustments the top part looks great. But very light photos with lots of lighting and whites tends to wash out on the bottom part of the monitor. I use a wallpaper program that displays photos tiled. The photos have lots of, um, flesh tones. You can tell the bottom part is too bright and a bit washed out.
Other Thoughts: I can live with it. However, I am disappointed. I use NEC at work and like what I had seen. I will probably go back to Samsung now.

Really nice monitor
Pros: Great display for close-up use (gaming or text). No dead pixels, sharp colors, matte finish on screen means no glare from external lighting or windows. No ghosting in game use (which is primarily why I bought it). Less than 48 hours from placing the order to having it arrive on my doorstep.
Cons: Nothing major. Stand is not adjustable except for tilt, but I have it on a stand to put it at the right height. Switching inputs is slow.
Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a 3-year old 19-inch LCD (4x3 format) and have been looking for a wide-screen replacement. This one fits the bill. I haven't even tried the speakers yet because I have a 5.1 setup (so who needs monitor speakers). I can't imagine needing more inputs - I'll have to buy more hardware to fill them up!

Pros: Nice display, wide range of inputs. Best bang for the buck for 1080P, HDMI, built in speakers, component in etc. I can switch between Xbox 360 HDMI and DVI from my computer on the same display with relative ease.
Cons: My first one died in 20 days, lucky for me it is within the newegg 30day rma period. My second one is working good so far. No height adjustment. Onscreen menu could be better but is usable. Input switching is 1-2secs per input when switching...not a big deal to me because don't switch inputs every 10 minutes. Off axis viewing is not very good either but that is not how I use it anyway.
Other Thoughts: I have the brightness set to min, I wish it would go lower. There are very few displays with all these features.

Decent via DVI, horrible via VGA
Pros: DVI connection is clear. HDMI port. No dead pixels.
Cons: VGA connection is the worst I've ever seen. Stand is flimsy and non-adjustable.
Other Thoughts: I was excited to receive this after having read all the glowing reviews but was quickly disappointed with the picture quality. I'm forced, for the time being, to use VGA due to an older 4-port KVM which uses VGA connectors and found the fonts blurry enough to be annoying and shadow effects on all colors (very noticeable with light on dark). I'm not up on all the technical details of LCD monitors but I do know what looks bad and this monitor is just bad. Now I'm stuck with it.

My first reaction is ... WOW !!!
Pros: Before I even tried to setup the monitor in my computer room, I decided to hook it up in my living room to check it out ... My wife was out of the room, so I thought I would be safe ... My first impression was so awesome, that I was willing to ask my wife to take a look and even she said "WOW". Great color, huge display that is incredibly crisp ... I hooked it up to a laptop with a 17" 1920x1200 display that I thought was great and this gave me a new standard for what I consider "great".
Cons: I am not sure how I will lug this huge monitor around with me to use for my laptop, because I will never want to use my laptop display again without this wonderful monitor ... :o)
Other Thoughts: I use my computer for programming and want a display to show as much as possible on the screen ... So, when When I saw a monitor that would display 1920x1200 and was 24" versus my laptop's 17", I figured it should be a nice improvement ... The difference goes way beyond being just a nice improvement ... This monitor is simply awesome.

Awesome montitor
Pros: I went from an NEC Multisync 1770GX to this Accusync 24WMCX display and it is the best upgrade i've ever made with my computer.
I can't believe how massive the screen is compared to what I was using before. The monitor has 0 dead pixels, and looks beautiful.
I use it mostly for gaming, and I love it. I am a very happy customer. thank you Newegg!
Cons: more expensive than other tn panels, but worth every penny I paid.

Nice for ps3
Pros: Best. No dead pixel. No backlight leak. Very nice for PS3 with HDMI input. No overscan 1:1 pixel match.
Cons: What is SPDIF output?

Pros: This has lots of input options and very clear picture and nice colore! I usually don't give reviews a week after owning it but it's been a great monitor so far.
1920x1200 with lots of options!
Cons: Yes, the viewing angles does suck a bit if you going for sitting up straight to slouching on your chair, it's just a little weird but it's not as bad as some of the recent reviewers said about it.
Other Thoughts: Perfect to connect your XBOX360 or PS3 to it.

TN panel
Pros: Of course its a TN panel. Cheap, big and fast response time. If you think you're going to get a 24" VA or IPS panel for under $500, do more research. Gamers will love this HUGE monitor. Newegg shipped to my house in under 3 days. I plugged and started playing Crysis, Bioshock. No adjustments necessary. No backlight bleeding, no dead pixels, excellent viewing angle for a TN panel. DVDs look beautiful in Vista MCE. My AverTV combo card picture is perfect. If you're gamer buy this monitor before they run out. I've always heard NEC made nice monitors but never owned one. NEC has a new loyal customer.
Cons: Base is a little flimsy but that didn't concern me because I am using a good wall mount behind my PC desk. Now I'll have to buy 2 8800 Ultras to play Crysis in very high at 1920X1200.
Other Thoughts: Q6600 OC'd to 2.9. EVGA 680i. 2X8600 GTS in SLi OC'd to 790/1130. 4X1 Gig Corsair DHX4 @ 800. 3X150 Gig WD Raptors in RAID 5. 2X200 Gig Seagates in RAID 1. Antec 900. Vista Premium 32.

Great monitor, great price
Pros: Upgraded from a 17 inch CRT, so... its HUGE. Have yet to find a dead pixel. Very minimal bleeding. HDMI, DVI, VGA, Component. Great for gaming and common use (internet, word, etc). Very sharp image, great price for everything it has. After much stress in finding a monitor, i am very pleased.
Cons: The DVI port could have been placed better, source switching is kind of slow but once you know how many times to click it, it wont matter. I noticed a rogue box in the upper left that was a different shade, but after messing with settings, it went away. I may be needing to get a new video card next.
Other Thoughts: I honestly think the viewing angles are fine, unless your desk sits 2 feet off of the ground, and you are 7 foot tall. But really, I only notice alteration if i stand up and look down above it, or if i squat low below my desk. I also hear a small hum when i get close to the monitor, but my computer is louder and masks it.

Very Nice
Pros: Very nice LCD for games on both PC and Xbox 360. Text is crisp and clear while browsing and working on the computer. Games look great, COD4, WOW and Xbox 360 games. No dead pixels.
Cons: TN panel. My computer chair tilts back a little, and when I do I can definitely tell the difference in colors and brightness from the top half of the screen. Speakers not as loud as I wanted them to be.
Other Thoughts: At first I had my Xbox 360 hooked up via component, but in that mode DVD's don't fill the screen unless you select an aspect ratio on the OSD menu. Bought a VGA cable for my 360 and it plays movies correctly. Easily changeable aspect ratio from the OSD menu so that movies and games mantain 1:1 ratio if you like.

NEC does it BIG! Literally.
Pros: Component HD, VGA, DVI, HDMI, and built-in speakers... can we say awesome?! 24" is huge... practically overkill, but with its 1920x1200 resolution, the size really does prove to be more productive. Matte screen looks incredible, viewing angle is actually superb (don't let other reviewers fool you). OSD menu isn't hard at all. No dead pixels or defects. Monitor stand is pretty adequate and the speakers aren't too bad.
Cons: DVI port placement made me scream. Barely was able to fit an aftermarket DVI-D cable without bending and jamming. Bezel could be more attractive at this price range. Requires a very powerful video card for games and HD video. Screen size is so large my eyes are splitting outward as I type this.
Other Thoughts: Plan to alter the stand to compensate for the poor DVI port location. Other than those slight gripes, I'm more than happy with my decision. This monitor is perfect for movies, games, and hooking up your Xbox 360/Playstation 3 via HDMI. One of these looks a thousand times better compared to a 720p HD TV. Thanks NEC, you've proved that you've been able to step up to impress a SAMSUNG monitor fanboy.

Solid and nice looking
Pros: NEC brand is the same as I use at work. The 1920X1200 looks great. Could not find a dead pixel. The price is right.
Cons: Would like a more adjustable stand. Needs faster source switching so I can flip between an analog d-sub on 1 computer and a dvi input on another. Speakers are worthless. I do not want speakers or sound on a monitor.
Other Thoughts: I am not a display expert, and I don't game or even draw stuff. I wanted more monitor space for running 3 different real time market monitoring software systems. I plan on getting a second 1920X1200 soon, and it may be another one of these.

Disappointed. Cheap TN panel.
Pros: No dead pixels. Decent image even with analog video at 1920x1200.
Cons: I'm very disappointed. I bought this monitor because the Specifications say the viewing angle is 178 (H)/ 178 (V). Even NEC's web site lists these angles. The user's manual, on the other hand, clearly states the viewing angle is only 160 (H) / 160 (V), and this is consistent with the appearance. If you move you head up or down the colors change and the screen either gets washed out (up) or really dark (down).
Other Thoughts: I guess this is just another overpriced monitor with a cheap TN panel. Not at all what I thought I was buying! Don't make the mistake I did and assume that the viewing angles of 178/178 are real or that it means this a high-quality display with a PVA panel.

Pros: I upgraded from a 17" and have found the 1920x1200 resolution to be fantastic for games and web browsing. The picture is bright and clean with no dead pixels. The monitor itself looks beautiful on my desktop. The range of input options, which includes HDMI for my 360 and component for my ps2, are great. I'm happy with my purchase!
Cons: None so far.

Good Value for Money
Pros: 1) No dead pixels 2) better variety of inputs (composite) 3) value 4) Name brand I trusted
Cons: 1) Slow to change signals when you push the source button 2) Speakers are ok at best. That's not a problem when using my PC, but when I hooked up my 360, it was my only option.
Other Thoughts: Like the title says, it's good value for money. After reading the reviews here on NewEgg, I decided to go with this NEC. Besides the reviews, the additional inputs put me over the top. I hooked up my 360 and changed the output to 1080p (my plasma is only 720p). It looked a little better, but not much. I’m very satisfied with this monitor, and would not hesitate to recommend it to any of my friends. I moved up from a 19” Dell LCD. It’s my second monitor now, and that it a great luxury.

Beautiful Display, Decent Price
Pros: Bright, crisp picture. NO dead or stuck pixels. Blue power LED is dim and unobtrusive. Good OSD configuration options. Looks like I can add NEC to my short list of LCD brands I trust!
Cons: HDMI and DVI connectors are almost directly above the top of the stand, making them difficult to access straight-on. Once plugged in, though, you can forget about them and enjoy the view. No reason to ding this great monitor a star.
Other Thoughts: Haven't tried the built-in speakers -- I didn't buy this for its audio features. Stand is slightly limited in range, but it wasn't a problem for my arrangement.

Excellent monitor
Pros: I was pleasantly surprised to see that this monitor is much better than I had thought from reading some of the reviews. The viewing angle is actually better than my old Samsung 19 inch LCD (which is still a great monitor), and I see no color distortion at the edges of the screen when displaying an all white background or window.
Besides watching some DVDs in 1920x1200, I've ran Crysis at 1680 x 1050 on it (using a 8800GT) with crystal clarity. I've used it to view code in Visual Studio, and general Internet browsing. Text is sharp and highly readible. Graphics are clear, and the colors are crisp and natural with a little bit of tweaking. I suggest setting the Gamma setting to Gamma3 for best overall contrast and color.
There are no dead or stuck pixels at all.
Cons: It's a little too easy to hit the power button when navigating the menu buttons. The instruction manual could be a bit more detailed on what some of the various settings do, especially in regards to the color settings.
Other Thoughts: I bought an Ergotron LX desk mount in order to position the monitor at various heights and to swivel it 90 degrees into portrait mode. It works beautifully. This is certainly a great deal and worth the price.
For most people, this monitor should be perfect. Of course if you are a graphic artist, there are the higher priced PVA and IPS monitors if you need precise color reproduction.

B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L
Pros: Newegg rocked it when they sent this thing out. I got it sooner thanI had expected.
No dead pixels, crisp color, no ghosting. Actually made me want to spend more time on my PC again. Allwed me to fully use my 8800 GTX to its capability as before I was only holding that baby back! I loved how the stand just popped into place instead of having to screw it in place.
Cons: As others have stated, the DVI cable is right behind the stand. I think they could have spread the inputs around or at least switched locations of the DVI to HDMI cable since the backshell of a DVI is smaller. However this is proably created from an electrical engineers layout and when they relalized it was too late i nthe design to change it, but really it doesn't crimp the cable that much at all. We are maybe talking 5 degree bending.
The only thing I saw was the whenyou start something up, you get a "source window" that splashes over everything and you can not see until it goes away about 3-4 seconds later. This could be something that can be turned off but it was the most negative thing I could come up with!
Other Thoughts: Others have talked of the stand bring flimsy and moving when people walk by.....maybe if you live in Grand Central Station! :) But I do understand as it is plastic and most everyone has had issues with plastic parts breaking in the past rendering something useless. The base is stable. Also, who views their screen off center? This monitor looked phenominal straight out of the box when I cranked up COD4, TF2, CnC3, UT3. Now working on getting a 1080P source so that this baby will smote all others.
I compared this to the cheapest 24" monitor here on Newegg made by Sceptre and in the end I chose this one becuase when you think about what else you are getting with this(the other inputs, the cables, etc) you are actually getting more for your money. Believe me, unless you have a bunch of dead pixels, you won't be dissapointed with this monitor...

Pros: Very crisp and bright image, too bright on default but some minor adjustments and it's perfect for me. Livens up all my applications/games/movies, so much so I have gone back to old movies/games just to see them in new glory. No ghosting or anything, all the extra space is very nice I love it, definitely worth it for me.
Cons: none so far
Other Thoughts: If you're having trouble using the on screen menu there's a program called Naviset on the NEC website for this monitor that lets you adjust some (not all) of the settings from display properties in windows (color, brightness, contrast). The OSD can be annoying but that app is great once you've got the other settings tweaked.

Very Good
Pros: Does what they said it would do. Wider viewing angle than some say.
Cons: None really.
Other Thoughts: I bought this because the NewEgg reviews, especially the three and four stars, had no major criticism of the monitor. Speakers are a little under-par, but what do you expect from a monitor? My wife thought it was excessive and expensive but watching the intro screens from Supreme Commander changed her point of view.
Usual remarkable price and delivery from NewEgg.

Very pleased
Pros: Bright. Very bright. The first thing you'll do is turn it down. No dead pixels. Lightweight. Versatile array of inputs. Color at defaults is very good. No backlight leakage. Great black level. Big, but not *too* big.
Cons: The claims of viewing angle are preposterous. It's good, but more like 30 degrees before serious alteration in the image occurs. The stand is a little flimsy -- it can rock back and forth when someone walks by. The on-screen mode change display is *incredibly* annoying and can't be turned off or shortened. Adjustments, especially of color, are extraordinarily difficult to make with the clumusy OSD menu structure. They are very complex and there's a great deal of interaction. USB connected driver software with a decent user interface on the computer would be a huge improvement. The horrible menu is largely responsible for the four star rating. It's so bad that simply changing brightness and contrast is a chore.
Other Thoughts: I wonder why they bother putting speakers into something like this. They're useless and it's a waste of money. I'd rather pay $20 less for it. There's no "hum" coming from mine; it's dead silent. I retired a 10 year old massively heavy NEC 1350FP CRT and appreciate the light weight and far lower power consumption of this monitor. It's also nice not to hear that degaussing 'bang' when the power goes on.

Good Price, Good Monitor
Pros: Excellent picture, sleak black paneling (I don't like the think panels makes the screen look smaller you know). Fast easy set up, comes with everything you need. I have my PC and my PS3 hooked up to this and the picture quality is great on both.
Cons: The HDMI input is directly behind the base making it pretty difficult to put the wire in (you have to pretty much bend it to fit). Tilting requires unscrewing and re-screwing. Sound is sub-par, barely audible at 95% (but thats why I have computer speakers right).
Other Thoughts: This monitor makes everything I do now much more easier and readible, from browsing the web and not having to scroll down or across all the time, to being able to view multiple applications at once without their windows overlapping. And the size plus the resolution and the HD color ranges makes photoshop actually worth the $700 I didn't pay for it.

Most awesome.
Pros: It has no backlight bleed. It has very good white levels. It is big. It has a lot of inputs. It came with no dead pixels. It has a shiny black bezel. It can output audio to my stereo from both my computer and Wii. It has component inputs. It's not too expensive. It's really bright.
Cons: The viewing angle is certainly not 178 degrees in each direction. Especially not in the vertical direction. Maybe they mean that you can see the surface of the screen from a 1 degree angle...
Other Thoughts: Came the very next business day (one town away from Edison!) Love Newegg shipping and stuff.

Great Monitor
Pros: This monitor is huge, bigger than I thought it would be. Amazing picture quality and no dead pixels upon arrival so all in all I am more than happy with my purchase.
Cons: None really, only thing I can think of is space, but if you don't have space why would you be buying a 24" monitor to begin with.

Awesome monitor
Pros: Absolutely awesome monitor for the price. Excellent picture, better than my 22" HD which is going to be replaced by another of these. Gaming is perfect, HD DVD's are great, and both at the same time on dual 24's is going to be even better!
Cons: No height adjustment but I don't require it. The pain of going to someone's smaller monitor is um, I dunno, unpleasant. You really get spoiled with this thing.
Other Thoughts: No comparison between the size of this and the 22's. The amount of desktop workspace available allows you to be more productive via multi tasking.

Best Monitor EVER!
Pros: ZERO dead pixels. No backlight bleedthrough. This monitor is twice the size of an average monitor. I plugged my Playstation 3 in for fun via HDMI and played at 1080Progressive... WOW.Talk about flawless. NEC really knows how to make a superior monitor. No idea why its so cheap compared to others in its class, but thank you newegg.
Cons: Now I have to figure out what to do with the hundreds of dollars I saved buying this monitor.. hmm.lifes tough.
Other Thoughts: As most monitors do.. this monitor comes with all settings at default, so if you plug it in out of the box, dont get frustrated that the sharpness is too high or that its too bright. Just adjust your settings, and poof.. the perfect monitor. Tha amazing thing is I have my computer, Xbox360, Playstation3, and Wii all plugged into this badboy. All I gotta do is touch the handy source button and boom.

Initial Impressions
Pros: Light-weight, bright, crisp and clear text, black levels look good to my -- admittedly untrained -- eyes. Really easy setup and a very nice range of features/connection options. Having HDMI is definitely appreciated. Newegg's great service and fast shipping.
Cons: Viewing angle isn't so good. You can definitely tell that it's a TFT screen, but the price was so good for what I was getting that it really isn't a huge con for me. Might be for others, depending on what you're using this beast for, but if you're like me and are only going to look at it straight-on at a desk, it isn't too great of an issue.
The second issue is the stand. Yes, the monitor is light-weight, but I really would have appreciated a sturdier stand. True, it does its job and I'm not afraid that a sneeze will knock it over, but it doesn't hurt to have some added "insurance," just in case.
Other Thoughts: Having upgraded from an older 19" LCD, I have to repeat the mantra: "This sucker is a -monster-!" I was very surprised with just how light it was for its size, especially compared to my old 19". While I know a bit about computers, I would never go so far as to describe myself as a tech-wiz, I can't see how anyone with even a minimalist understanding of computers would have difficulty setting this up. So long as you know what cables go where and can follow instructions, set-up is a breeze; literally plug-and-go. I actually like the factory settings, so I haven't had to change anything in that regard. No (half)dead/stuck pixels; text at the recommended resolution (1900x1200) is crisp, clear, and easily readable; and the monitor isn't half-bad looking sitting on my desk.
Despite the cons I listed, I don't feel that they're enough of a problem to drag this monitor down to four stars. For the price and features, it's tough to go wrong with this monitor.

Incredible
Pros: The brightness/contrast range blew me away .. Full set of pro adjustments ( color temp etc.. ) make this an exceptional panel.
Cons: Hard to come up with a con, but.. - DVI connector is in hard to reach location - not really a big deal once it is connected -
Other Thoughts: - Zero dead/stuck pixels - impressive on a panel this size - ( 2,304,000 elements ) No backlight bleeding -

Awesome!
Pros: Awesome monitor, superb display, I bought this monitor to use with another NEC monitor that I had, the NEC 90GX2, this 24 inch is big, and the difference is night and day..
So much room to work with and the multiple inputs, component, hdmi, vga and dvi.. is awesome, I now have a dual monitor setup for my pc and I have this baby hooked up to the xbox 360 for when i want to play games, otherwise i use both for pc work..
Best money I ever spent, I was looking at other 24" monitors and NEC is the best in my opinion, will always go with NEC for all my monitor needs.. no blacklight bleeding, no dead pixels...
Really happy with my purchase
Cons: A few cons, flimsy stand but works okay for my needs and I thought it had composite hook ups, it doesnt.. thats okay though...

Awesome
Pros: This is the best Monitor I have had. Well worth the money. Games play and look great on it (WoW, FFXI, Hitman, and a few Beta's I cannot admit to). Watching movies on this screen is better then watching them on my 5 year old 27" Phillips/Magnavox T.V.
Cons: none at all.
Other Thoughts: This monitor is just huge. I can have 2 full pages side by side when I am doing my school work. The information on one side and VB2008 open on the other. No problems with Vista Ultimate, actually makes vista nice to look at. The OSD gives you a lot of options to set your picture the way that best fits your, or you can choose the default settings.

Best Purchase I've ever made!
Pros: This is without a doubt the greatest monitor in existance. I say that with a completely straight face. The monitor not only supports 1920x1200 in dvi mode, it also supports 1080p in hdmi, which is great for ps3 and blu ray owners. Not a single dead pixel.
Cons: None at all
Other Thoughts: The finest purchase I've made on newegg.

This monitor is AWESOME
Pros: This monitor is totally SWEET. This thing is H_U_G_E compared to my Viewsonic 19" LCD. Playing games on this thing is like playing them in another world! This thing makes games come alive. Get this monitor, you can't beat it for the price! I got this thing for free shipping in ONE DAY from Newegg, you guys rock!
This monitor has: 1. no dead pixels 2. a huge, MONSTEROUS screen 3. great colors 4. no backlight bleed through 5. excellent connection options (HDMI, DVI, VGA, etc). 6. great response time, NO ghosting in games at all.
Cons: None at all, I'm 110% satisfied with this purchase and don't regret it for a SECOND.
Other Thoughts: For the price you'll thank yourself OVER AND OVER for buying this baby. You won't be disappointed, this thing ROCKS! Highlyh recommended.

Big, Brite, and....... SWEET
Pros: Well, for starters, its big, its beautifull, and its can support a nice and high resolution. It came with no dead pixels and is a nice and crisp black... The front control panel is easy to use and understand and its got a lot of nice inputs to choose from.
Cons: The stand kinda stinks. Why make a sweet monitor and not give it the stand to match? No raising up or down??? If this thing could be about 3 inches taller, I'd be 100% satisfied. I'm only 99.9 satisfied.. :) But the stand is not enough to make me drop it down to 4 stars
Other Thoughts: Buy it..... You won't regret it

Very good pruduct
Pros: Very good product. You can't fined a better quality product for this price. This screen shows very very good pictures, holds up to games, runs auto cad and solidworks great. (all at the same time with quick change overs. I even tried a 32mb video card and still had great out com.
Cons: none really. (if you want to run dual screens get at least 256mb 3d card)
Other Thoughts: those who use auto cad make adjustment on the monitor not threw the screen to get the olvive effect out.

Beautiful Monitor
Pros: Big size, lots of ports, easy interface. Arrived with no dead pixels.
Cons: Out of the box it is too bright, washes everything out, but that was quickly fixed. It is a TN panel so the colors are so so, but for every day use it is fine.
Other Thoughts: Ports are easy to get to, the OSD is fairly good. It works great in gaming, no ghosting at all. This thing dwarfs my 19" widescreen.

Admirable
Pros: The size and resolution are the things that drove me to buy this, but the lighting and contrast look pretty good to me, too. There are no apparent dead pixels, but I may be missing them. It has multiple inputs, so I can have my PC and Xbox attached simultaneously. It takes all HD signals and you can set it to display 1080P with black bars at the top and bottom so there's no stretching of the picture.
Cons: None yet.
Other Thoughts: I don't consider myself a connoiseur of monitors. While I am satisfied with this, even when I game, others may not be. It didn't take much time for me to find settings I liked, but once again, you may be pickier than I am.

great for gamers
Pros: this monitor has great resolution and many inputs so you can have like four things pluged in at once! i have my pc through dvi and my wii through component, the source button easily switches through the two. i don't hear any humming or see much bleeding. it is great for gamers who don't really need to worry about super correct color.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: sli 8800gt are great on this :D

Excellent Product
Pros: Amazing Quality at amazing price Super for use with a computer
Cons: You can't see to outputs simultaniously, i.e. watch tv and check stock at the same time, otherwise a godsend
Other Thoughts: Don't even think about it if you are in the market for a 24" that have multiple inputs buy it!

Fantastic Monitor if you don't mind a little hum
Pros: This is a beautiful display. It has HDMI, and HD Composite Inputs alongside a DVI-D connector and audio connectors. I have my PC and DVD player hooked up. The aspect scaling is adjustable and the motion is FAST. I don't think the stand is too bad. NEC tech support is great and friendly.
Cons: My monitor hums when I turn the brightness down. I got a replacement from NEC and it does it too. My computer is almost silent but I can hear it. My wife doesn't notice so some people might not be able to hear it. It's way too bright out of the box so turning it down is necessary.
Other Thoughts: Great monitor overall. I would not purchase again though due to hum. If it weren't for that I'd be 5 star happy with this monitor. If you have sensitive ears and/or don't like humming, choose something else. The price is hard to beat for this size monitor with the quantity of hookups though.

Lightweight heavyweight
Pros: Hey this is really nice and sharp! I am running it off the DVI port on the MacBook Pro, and it runs at 1920 X 1200 as a second monitor,(side by side) with the laptop as the main running at 1440 X 900. I am stunned at how little this monitor weighs. About the lightest plastic case ever! Suppose that could be good and bad. I have always been a fan of Dell's ultra-sharp designs, but this monitor kicks, (you know) over any Dell I have seen! Color cast is non-existent, whites look really white in most settings, better than the 19" Dell's running on my old G5. I think this monitor looks better/sharper than the stock MacBook Pro monitor, and this book is only a month old!
Cons: As with most monitors today, the weak-point is the stand! I would encourage everyone to buy a better stand for this gorgeous monitor. Weak, wobbly, junky, stock stand! Bottom of the screen case is only 3 inches off the table, with NO height adjustment, YUCK!
Other Thoughts: Mounted to a wall, or quality stand, you have a perfect 24" monitor. One Dell 19" #1905FP weighs more than this 24" panel.

Outstanding Monitor!
Pros: I don't do graphic design, I don't even really game that much at all. I just wanted a big monitor with a lot of features that won't let me down. IT IS HUGE... I upgraded from a 19" 4:3 AR Viewsonic LCD running on VGA to this monster. Wow... I've got it mounted to the wall above my desktop on a VESA wall-mount purchased from wal m**t. The speakers actually aren't that bad. They're good enough for listening to some 192kbps Mp3's or windows sound effects. Considering the clutter they save me, I'm using them instead of my older speakers that rarely get used anyway. 0 dead pixels.
Cons: It's a little bright. Took some tweaking (~1-2 mins)
Other Thoughts: My Dell D820 laptop has a 15.1" with 1920 x 1200 resolution and it spoiled me in a hurry... It was tough to come home to the 1280 x 1024! Always wanted an NEC, and now I've got the money to get one.

Great Monitor!
Pros: I just got this monitor today, and I must say its great! By the on screen display, you can switch sources from PC (includes both VGA and DVI), HD Component and HDMI. So far all I am using it with is my PC through DVI-D. I will order a HD Cable box later on for 1080p TV viewing!
Cons: If you notice in the pictures provided by Newegg, the DVI port is just under the support bracket for the monitors stand. The bracket sticks out a bit from the monitors frame, making it difficult at first to connect your DVI cord. At first I tried forcing the DVI connector in, I managed to get it in and tightened the thumb screws, but the monitor reported no signal from PC. So I had to remove the bracket it self, then re-seat the DVI connector and tighten the thumb screws all the way, and then reconnect the monitors stand and bracket, works fine now!
Other Thoughts: Great monitor if you plan on swapping from HD TV and your computer, I would personally use the monitors built in speakers for TV only, and use your favorite speaker set for your PC.

Great gamming monitor
Pros: Really fast response time with very little input lag. I tested the input lag with this monitor next to a CRT and a fast shutter speed on a dSLR camera and the difference between the two was 1 to 3 milliseconds, which is amazing for a 24" LCD. There is no ghosting that i have been able to notice, even on fast passed games like TF2. All the inputs (1 component, 1 Composite, 1 dvi, 1 vga, and 1 hdmi) make hooking up just about any game console a breeze too. The contrast ratio by default (according the box) is 1:1000, and with all the image enhancements turned on it goes to 1:2000 and it really shows. Blacks area very dark, and whites pop out perfectly. You also have complete control over scaling, so you can run things at 1:1 pixel mapping, or choose to scale the image to fit the entire screen.
Cons: First off, its a TN type monitor, so viewing angles aren't perfect, but personally i find it to be fine unless i stand over the monitor, or duck down below my desk and look up at it. Its a small price to pay for faster response times. With any TN display your also going to have back light bleed, and it was very minimal with this monitor. Only on the windows start up screen and in a completely pitch dark room is it slightly noticeable. Once you get in a game, or even just boot up into windows, it's impossible to tell. Also, when your really look close at gradients, you can see some color banding happening.
Other Thoughts: Like the title says its a great gaming monitor. If extreme color accuracy is something you need ( like for photo editing at a very high professional level) then i would say look at one of Nec's higher end IPS type monitors (although its going to cost you more) I was in a toss up as to whether to go for this monitor or the Samsung 245bw display, and between the infamous panel lottery, the poorer viewing angels, and the lack of inputs, this was defiantly worth the extra bit of cash.

NEC LCD24WMCX
Pros: It's an inexpensive 24" LCD with four inputs - HDMI, DVI-D, Component (which supports 1080p), and VGA d-sub. You can elect to have the input signal stretched to fill the screen, have it stretched while maintaining aspect ratio, or have it displayed natively. This works across all four inputs.
Cons: It's a TN panel. If you're off-center of the monitor, you'll get a brownish cast to anything to the sides. If you're above the monitor, it looks washed out. If you're below, it looks a bit dimmed. You can still see the image fairly well, but it won't be the same as being directly in front of the display.
Other Thoughts: For $480-500, it's not bad. The stand's a cheesy clip-on affair that only tilts forward/back and the speakers aren't great, but the inputs are good, they scale video properly, and the monitor adjustments are plentiful, if a little awkward to manage. Still, buttons are a bit better than the little stick most NECs use.
I bought my LCD24WMCX last week, before it was available from Newegg.
