Reliable product!
Pros: I've had this monitor for the last couple of years, and I have yet to see a dead pixel or any defects. It's been dropped, sat on, hauled around in luggage, and anything in between. While I wouldn't advise doing this, it definately stands up to my test of time.
Cons: As long as you know what you're paying for and what your paying for works, you should never have a con. All came as advertised.
Other Thoughts: Max res is 1440 x 900, but thats fine for me.

So Far It's Excellent
Pros: Great Price From Newegg...Great Monitor...EZ To Set Up
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I kept my old CRT monitor just in case this monitor didn't quite live up to the ratings that I read. I'm now giving my CRT away and keeping this monitor. The colors are crisp and clear. It works great at any of the settings available. It's an overall great buy! If you're looking for an inexpensive and overall great monitor...GET THIS ONE!

Good offering
Pros: Lightweight Small screen frame DVI/VGA ports Attractive Price
Cons: Wake time from idle is incredibly long, almost 3sec. There's no way to disable this function.
Other Thoughts: Overall a great monitor for the price, but the power saving option lags.

Doesn't agree with some video cards
Pros: Good price, no bad pixels, reliable for over a year, no problems... except:
Cons: Absolutely will not work right with my NVIDIA; rare but known problem that most have been able to solve by installing Acer's monitor drivers & reinstalling video drivers + creating a custom resolution, but I (and a few others) have not. System insists it is an analog monitor; constant jitter, and small text is fudged. Painful to the eyes over extended periods. It's as if the Hz doesn't match.
Other Thoughts: Don't care that the base is weak & monitor needs stable surface; the jitter/flicker is a killer. Would not buy again due to this problem.

Pros: Good Quality Low Price
Cons: none so far...wish the stands would rotate the monitors 90 degrees so I could do some tallscreen gaming ;)
Other Thoughts: Purchased two. 1 had a single dead pixel that eventually disappeared and is now working fine, the other was perfect and still is.

Wonderful
Pros: This monitor is unbeatable, considering the price. Nice clear picture. This monitor also has very thin borders at just over 1/2 inch which makes it ideal for dual display setups
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I am not a video game fanatic , i use this monitor for mostly recording studio purposes. In a dual setup.

Love this thing
Pros: great colors, automatic settings work well, good on almost any resolution (up to 1440x900)
Cons: blacks could be a little deeper
Other Thoughts: I've had this monitor for a long time, bought it after seeing at a computer repair shop a buddy of mine works at and picked it up right there. Got the display model so I know this thing has been put through everything and still works awesome on my desk.

Very Good Work Monitor On Budget
Pros: No dead pixels. Great for text on everyday business use on internet and Microsoft Office documents. Never seen any lag when streaming video off the internet. This is my first non-laptop LCD display. Going from a 17" CRT to this has made me more productive by being able to display windows next to each other to copy from. No more printing screens or flip-flopping back and forth.
Cons: I do not game, but with only a 8ms response time, do you homework if you are a gamer.
Other Thoughts: I am using an old ATI 9600XT Radeon AGP video card. I always believe that ATI is a better 2D card than the competition except for very expensive work station cards. Some reviewers would have a different experience if they were using a different video card, or tweaked the video settings.

Horrible viewing angles
Pros: Cheap, widescreen, somewhat slim borders, good sturdy stand, slim, DVI.
Cons: Horrible viewing angles. I didn't realize it when I bought it, I must have missed it or something. Someone already commented on it and it's true.
Viewing angle: 150°(H) / 130°(V)
So yeah, if you're not eye level with / perpendicular to the monitor, you can't see it. The side angles aren't as bad, but they're not the best either, pretty bad too.
The power button is a little loose or something. I sometimes gotta press it twice. I gotta make sure I press it dead center.
There is some backlighting issue too, but not that bothersome.
Other Thoughts: Know what you're getting before you buy this. The viewing angles, be sure you're ok with them before you buy it. It's a great monitor for the price if you're the only person who will be using this at a time.
It's good for programming as I can have a couple windows opened with enough space for me to read and program. It's got good colors, nice for gaming.
It's not good for watching movies with some people, or doing anything else that would have more than one person watching the screen. If you don't like hovering though, this monitor is for you.
Great buy if you're ok with the viewing angle. Be warned.

Best deal of my build
Pros: First off, it's a beautiful monitor and the colors are amazing. No ghosting or dead pixels. Size is perfect for me.
Cons: Some tilt would be nice but hey what more should you ask for.q
Other Thoughts: This is the monitor that shows that you don't need to spend $200-300 to get a nice monitor. There is nothing to complain about this monitor, it's that simple. Possibly best deal in monitors on site

Pros: Received in excellent condition. No dead pixels, excellent display for the money. Haven't had any big issues with it since it's been out of the box.
Cons: None to speak of.
Other Thoughts: Considering purchasing a few more. I have noticed recently that the power led flickers when I crank my sound, but it's not a big deal.

Awesome monitor
Pros: This monitor is really awesome. For the price I couldn't have been happier. The menu is very easy to use and features settings that adjust the brightness for games, movies or general use at the click of a button. Very nice.
Cons: This monitor doesn't appear to have a way to do 4:3 mode, but it could be my video card.
Other Thoughts: For an affordable, quality monitor this is as good as it gets.

Did not last one year - backed by good service
Pros: While it lasted, it was a fine monitor. I ordered this monitor Sept 13 2006. It was dead on Sept 1 2007. Somewhat annoying. Monitor was shipped to the service center on Sept 4 2007. Repaired monitor was received on Sept 19 2007. So far, I'm satisified.
Cons: I ordered this monitor Sept 13 2006. It was dead on Sept 1 2007. Somewhat annoying.
Other Thoughts: The 800 support number provided on the Manufacturer Info tab worked very well. A real person answered immediately and was very helpful. This 4-star rating replaces my original 1-star rating, based on the way Acer handled the repair.

good, but not the best
Pros: vibrant colors, seems bigger than most 19inch lcds (comparing to what the local electronics store had on their shelves) stand is pretty solid compared to other lcds... just looks great... rare to get a dead pixel on these...
Cons: minor backlight bleeding at top and bottom only noticable on black screen, sufficient ghosting on dark colors while playing movies, NO ghosting during gameing (WoW, HL2, Fear)
Other Thoughts: maybe the newer ones dont have the problems mine has, or maybe mines one of the few that didnt roll off the rack the way it should have.... but non the less, its still a great monitor for gaming and desktop apps.

great monitor
Pros: This is a great 19" monitor. I got it from newegg about seven months ago and it does great. Crisp, clear picture, no dead pixels and no ghosting whatsoever. The auto configure works very well; in fact, I don't think I've ever used the OSD. Well worth the money. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
Cons: I don't believe the 5ms is accurate, although I haven't formally tested. The screen is slightly brighter on the right and left sides where the florescent backlights seem to show through a bit more. There is no DVI input and the base isn't height-adjustable.
Other Thoughts: I don't think the delay will bother anyone but very dedicated gamers. There are no built in speakers (a good thing in my opinion). The base is stable yet has a small footprint. Also, the height of the stand is about perfect for me, even though it isn't adjustable.
of course newegg is great. newegg is always great. always fast shipping and an uber-friendly group of people

Good for the price
Pros: Good picture for the price.
Cons: Came with one dead pixel, light blue.
Other Thoughts: The dead pixel is, luckily, off to the side and light blue. So it's only really bothersome when I'm playing a game with a lot of dark areas. Otherwise it's about what I would expect for the price.

Acer delivers with this monitor
Pros: Clear picture, no noticeable ghosting, and a great wide screen too. Oh, and not a single dead pixel.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Combine the price of this unit, with it's specs and you have a very high quality monitor. It saves desk-space, like all LCD's, and it has quite a nice resolution.

Pros: Great looking LCD. I can't complain about anything for the price.
Cons: Every time you turn it on, it shows the acer logo for 3 seconds first. Came with one dead pixel but it disappeared after about a week ????? Also, the edges aren't as slim as I'd like them to be.
Other Thoughts: I spent a few days researching and reading reviews. For the price and stats, this one came in first. And of course, Newegg is phenomenal.

Ok
Pros: Great price, wide screen, 19", No dead pixels, fast response, no ghosting.
Cons: HORRIBLE viewing angle. If you are not eye level with the monitor then the top will appear dark. If you stand above it and look down, its mostly unreadable. My eye level is to the bottom half of the screen and it appears darker on the top. No adjustable stand.
Other Thoughts: Had this monitor for a while and recently got a new desk. When you are perfectly eye level the monitor is great, but if your monitor sits above or below, then you can have bad results. I end up having to keep my eye level to the top half of the screen to see everything as it should be.

Cons: None However if your willing too i would Recomend paying another 400$ for the 24" 8MS With DVI VGA and Audio IN.

The Specs Are High, A Must for the Look
Pros: All the Specs on this ACER are very High and it stands up to its brand, I have had this for 5 months and no problems. Easy to use Settings in the menu on the Monitor. Easy to read Manual and Install Disc for Drivers, of which loaded fine. Would recommend this Monitor to anyone upgrading their old one.
Cons: Minor to me, I had a old CRT 17" and going from that to a 19" Widescreen LCD was a change to get used to the Look was too bright at first until I adjusted the monitor menu settings. Works 110%.
Other Thoughts: A Very superior monitor overall, Once Again very inmpressed with Newegg's service, and will be a customer in the future.

A monitor that's worthy
Pros: Fast speed; Crisp and sharp picture; Good Contrast; No dead pixels; Acer
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I've bought this monitor without too much thinking. I took it at home, installed the driver and was amazed. The picture it shows is brilliant and crispy, colours are very cool and the contrast is superb. No, for real, because I've tried different monitors before and this one is the best. Especially that it’s price is reasonable, and it is an Acer :)

Pros: Great-looking monitor. I was looking to upgrade to widescreen LCD for video editing (for placement of menu windows and to extend editing timelines). Good price range and value. Mac OS compatible.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Good purchasing experience with Newegg regarding price and no hassles with shipping. Product got to my home on time.

Crisp and Clear
Pros: Crisp and clear display. No extra drivers needed to get the best out of the monitor. FAST shipping on Newegg's part!!!
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Going from a Samsung 710 17" display to a wider display takes a bit getting used to. The font seems a bit fuzzy? Hmm, hard to say but it might just need adjusting on my end. Great otherwise.

Impressive!
Pros: Contrast is nice, a little bright coming from a Nec MultiSync 77F, but you get used to it. NO dead pixels, no ghosting. Games are SO much better now. I was a little uneasy about the widescreen, but after a few minutes you get used to it and you never want to go back to 4:3.
Cons: 16:10 resolution not supported by all games and no way to set it to 4:3-monitor stretches image. I miss having the glass over the screen on the CRT monitors because they were so much less delicate and easier to keep clean, this screen feels more rigid than most, but I'm still uneasy about cleaning it. 1440x900 resolution is a little tough for my aging 6800 GS OC to keep up with, but thats my fault for not upgrading.
Other Thoughts: I wanted an LCD to replace my aging CRT that was starting to display weird colors (lots of LANs). Widescreen really grows on you, and this just displays things SOOO well. Once you see Oblivion played on this LCD, you'll want it :)

Great Deal
Pros: I purchased 9 of these for my business over a year ago, I have no complaints. It is value priced with exceptional graphics, what more can you ask for. Ii is used for parametric solid modeling (solidworks, flamingo), wiht great restitution
Cons: NONE
Other Thoughts: We put these monitors through strenuous work 5 days a week. Its good enough for my engineering firm, its good enough for you.

Great monitor, Great price!!
Pros: Great monitor for a great price. This thing has a great picture, but you may need to get a srtonger video card. I ahve a 7600 gt ko and it runs all my games on great graphics( cod 2 far cry etc.) and have them bumped up to 1440*900. It drops the frame rate but just by a little. COD 2 on wide 16:10 is awesome!
Cons: If u dont have a good video card u may lag if on 1440x900 and 16:10 widescreen. If the game is run on a low resolution it will stretch the game out making it look somewaht ugly(fyi. BF 2 does not really support any resolutions that best are on this monitor, so its streched out and looks kinda weird but not very bad.
Other Thoughts: No dead pics! and it came earlier than waht i paid for so TY NEWEGG!!

Works for what I do
Pros: I loaded the drives onto my PC and it fired right up. Very low troubleshooting. It's a very nice unit and the display size isn't bad either.
Cons: The non tilting stand. Permanent position is poor.
Other Thoughts: I'll just have to buy another one and search for the ultimate dual monitor stand.

Great monitor!
Pros: Beautiful display...very easy to fine-tune the picture. I knocked the brightness down somewhat and watched all 3 Lord Of The Rings DVD's in the first few nights of owning the monitor. Very clean, good color and actually brighter than needed for video.
Cons: Took just a little experimenting to "warm up" the video...all LCD's typically have an "icy" appearance I think because of the fluourescent backlight, but still this one warms up satisfactorily.

Pros: Nice, loved the fact that its big. No dead pixels so far and lets hope i wont get em at all. Also that it has a little beep when the screen turns on, not that loud, and not so quite.
Cons: The only thing I didnt like it that a acer screen comes up when u turn it on :(. Takes too long...
Other Thoughts: My sister told me that it would be a waste of my money since it wasnt like sony or samsung, but everything worked out perfectly, and she now wants one too.

Great product at an even better price!
Pros: Amazing product. I love it. Cristal clear, extremely bright, beautiful interface, sleek finish, light weight... I could go on all day. If you're in the market, get this darn monitor! Worth every penny if not more so, and the widescreen is out of this world!
Cons: Today I moved it and it started buzzing at me. I reset it and it stopped, hasn't done it since... I think I may have pressed a button of some sort.
Other Thoughts: I will be shopping with Newegg again. Forget Sony & Viewsonic... Why pay more for that when I'm so happy with this Acer product?

Beautiful
Pros: Cheap. Got it on sale at Newegg in June. Haven't found a 19" widescreen since for the same price. Free shipping too. Incredible deal and the monitor is supreme. I was surprised at how good a job Acer did on the contrasts. Colors are almost perfect.
Cons: Screen doesn't tilt. Had to put an old cassette under front edge of stand. Whoooop de doo! Doesn't make this a bad monitor!
Other Thoughts: Glad I bought it. Go Acer!!!

Pros: There were no dead pixels, at least none that i have noticed.
The monitor showed up a few days after i had ordered it, really fast shiipping,
The monitor is just huge. I upgraded from a normal monitor, and fitting the LCD one into the same space gave me an extra 2 (horizontal) inches of screen space AND a foot of desk space.
Cons: no problems with this monitor.
Other Thoughts: Only difficulties i had were with the delivery, where the UPS people wouldn't show up at my house when i was there, so i had to drive ~20 mi to the UPS place to pick the monitor up.
I would definately reccommend this monitor to anyone.

Buy it
Pros: Very bright, high contrast, zero dead pixels, overall the picture looks amazing.
Cons: You can't change the height of the stand that it coms with
Other Thoughts: If you are thinking about upgrading to a widescreen monitor on a budget, GET THIS MONITOR. Nothing under $200 beats it. I am considering buying another to put next to this one because it looks so good.

You can't go wrong w/ Acer and NewEgg!
Pros: 1440x900 resolution offers better view of websites, spreadsheets, and widescreen movies. Picture quality is great and can be seen at almost all angles. Anti-glare screen is a plus. Price for this size/brand LCD was excellent.
Cons: 1 dead pixel (blue) can only be seen on dark backgrounds. After a month of use, I've almost forgotten that it's there. DVI input would be nice.
Other Thoughts: I should have waited for the AL1917WAbd to drop in price - it's now the same price I paid for this one and has both D-Sub and DVI inputs and built-in speakers (good option to use as surround or center speakers with a 2.1 setup).

Well worth it
Pros: This is a beautiful monitor. The screen is enormous and the picture quality is excellent. The construction is high quality and I had no dead pixels.
Cons: I had problems for about 30 minutes where one sectiion of the screen was out of focus. When I adjusted the focus setting, the out-of-focus area would just move across the screen. It happened after the monitor executed an auto-configuration and I couldn't get it to go away until about half an hour later, an auto-config finally fixed it (I had tried this multiple times, but it didn't work until this time). It was only slightly out of focus, affected only a small portion of the screen and only lasted a short time. This has not affected my satisfaction with the product at all.
Other Thoughts: This monitor will suit your needs and will do it at a fraction of the price of other similar monitors. Brand name. Great quality. Great price.

HUGE and Pretty
Pros: I was in awe when I opened the box for this thing, first off, the screen is HUGE. It has NO dead pixels at all and the picture is really great.
Cons: It takes a while to get used to the widescreen. The connector for this didn't fit my video card but luckily my video card came with an adapter, so I don't know if this is a con on the video card or this monitor.
No biggy really, I bet an adapter would be like 5-10 extra bucks anyways.
Other Thoughts: Reeeaaally nice monitor, definately get this if you like big screens.

INCREDIBLE
Pros: This thing lights up the room with color. Out of the box it took me maybe 2 minutes to install and set up. Image was set automatically, but is best viewed at 1440x090. The color jumps out at you, and there was not a single dead pixel or any other problems that many people mention upon getting an LCD.
Cons: no "buy one, get one free" deal. heheh. The only thing better than one is two!
Other Thoughts: I do a lot of photo editing and with my old monitor i just could not get the colors right, or see fine details. It was dark and old. I have to go through and look at all of my photos again with the new LCD. Its like they are new photos all over again! The size doesn't really adjust well for anything under 1440x900, but if your graphics card supports it, why would you want anything less than that??
GREAT BUY. GREAT PRICE. THANK YOU NEWEGG

I'm Impressed
Pros: I was skepticle of the price of this monitor. I was also very skeptical of switching over to a CRT, especilly from a high quality CRT. WOW, Ever since the first second I turned it on, I was IMPRESSED! *Little to NO backlight..NONE *Runs at 75Hz, which is very competitve of other low-priced LCDS *WIDESCREEN *High Quality, Good Picture
Cons: *For the price, there is NO Cons whatsover. I was worried most about the backlight, but I must say, there is NONE on mine.
Other Thoughts: My Friend has a samsung LCD, and there is very noticible backlight. This one has again- NONE. I was expecting some, but again, NONE!!! Picture quality is great, I couldn't be happier with the CRT - LCD Switch!

Go for the AL1916WAbd instead
Pros: Affordable widescreen, no dead pixels.
Cons: Not digital, could be brighter, 1 out of 4 had a stuck pixel. Macs don't default to the correct resolution.
Other Thoughts: I bought 4 of these for the office right before the DVI version came out. Newegg has a much better deal on that version so I wouldn't bother with this monitor.

Little fussy
Pros: Wide screen, price, and performace spec.
Cons: Fussy picture
Other Thoughts: I bought 3 of these monitor with 1 defective. I also bought the HANNSPREE|JW-199DPB 19 and the picture is much better/clearer than the Acer AL1916W, so I returned the defective one and order another HANNSPREE|JW-199DPB 19.

Top of the line product
Pros: For under $xxx, you can't beat this as a 19" widescreen lcd. This is the first LCD I've ever bought, and I was really worried about dead pixels. Not a single one.
Cons: The max resolution is 1440x900, and for some reason, when I hook it up to my powerbook, the resolutions don't sync up. The highest res my powerbook goes to is 1280x854, so everything is a little bigger on my LCD.
Other Thoughts: Buy this LCD, you wn't regret it

Pros: This is a very affordable flat panel LCD monitor. Excellent for its size. Clear resolution, no ghosting in games, bright colors, and takes up so little desk space. Plus, it's widescreen! :)
Cons: Came with one discolored pixel, at the bottom of the screen. Not noticable at all. You need 8 dead pixels for a RMA, and these things are relatively common on all LCD screens, so I didn't take a star off for it.
Other Thoughts: I switched from a CRT 20 inch, now I can actually do things on my desk!

Pros: Fantastic monitor for the price. It did not have one dead pixel and the colors are vibrant and crisp. A little ghosting on a full black screen otherwise a great purchase. A dvi input would make this a great monitor. Thanks to Newegg for the excellent service.
Cons: As stated previously there is no DVI input on the monitor.

AWSOME
Pros: I have owned the older verson of this monitor for around 2 years now, and I bought it used on xbay! it still works better than some of the ones iv sceen in best buy! picture is great and games are so vivid. I take it many places for lan partys ect. and it has been droped, knocked over and sent threw some pretty rugh car trips, yet it still looks amazing with no change in picture quality.
Cons: the res dosent go above 1440x900 but, there are verry few that i have sceen that can so it's not really a con. the res is cristle clear anyway.
Other Thoughts: its cheap, good, and has lasted my for a long time.

Great monitor
Pros: Great buy. Once you get use to the wide screen, you will never go back to the narrow screens. The colors are bright and the text is easy to read. This is a great buy.
Cons: Now complaints at all.
Other Thoughts: I have purched many items from Newegg and find them to ba a great company to deal with. Keep the good work up. A satisfied customer.

Wonderful value on a great monitor!
Pros: I bought this monitor a few weeks ago when the previous special was going on, and I'm an extremely happy consumer. Its response time tested 7-11ms for me, but I've still noticed zero ghosting, and the color is fantastic. No dead pixels, and super-fast shipping!
Cons: The included stand for this monitor does not allow pitch, so you cannot point the face up or down. I didn't need this functionality, so it didn't affect my rating.
Other Thoughts: I'm considering buying two more of these for a tri-display setup. I'll post again if I decide to do this. (:

Pros: Way to go Acer! This is an outstanding 19" widescreen that won't break the wallet. Colors are vivid, response is quick, and no dead pixels.
Cons: The backlight bleeds ever so slightly from the edges to the center; only noticeable with very dark images.
Other Thoughts: Monitor may be a little to bright for some, and, as stated above, the backlight bleeds slightly; neither bother me at all -- everyone is different I guess.

WOW!!!! AMAZING
Pros: Wow, this monitor is awsome. I've never seen anything like this big before. Everything works wonderfuly with this monitor. No dead pixels and nice colors.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: You might be wondering if some games or programs would work with wide monitors. So far anything that I have tried worked great and with a high resolution. Very nice monitor.

Awesome LCD
Pros: This is a very nice LCD Monitor. I can not express this enough. You will be very pleased with this one. Very easy to install,.. tons of workspace. You can have two documents up at once side by side. I am very please with this LCD.
Cons: None. I did not experience any problems with this LCD. No dead pixels, easy to install.
Other Thoughts: The widescreen format is kind of different to get used to. I guess I'm just not used to having so much work space available. I am very pleased with this item.

99.99999% perfect
Pros: Beautiful colors, widescreen, very fast refresh rate, amazing price, and of course Newegg's fast shipping.
Cons: No DVI
Other Thoughts: I was looking at the 7ms model because it had over a 300 5-star comments and then I did more research when I found this beauty. Only $xx more dollars than the older model and I got my dream monitor. No reason you shouldn't buy this screen.

Beautiful...
Pros: -Widescreen -19 inches of widescreen -19 5ms and 700:1 contrast inches of widescreen -Really lightweight compared to other LCDs I've handled
Cons: -Can see some of the backlight on the corners of the screen when it's a black screen, like a screensaver, but only when the whole screen is black
Other Thoughts: Just got this today with no dead pixels and a beautiful, beautiful image. The widescreen makes things much easier to sort and look at, especially web browsing.
Games look great. F.E.A.R., BF2, HL2, and Brothers in Arms all look awesome in widescreen mode. Doesn't hurt that I just got a new X850XT, as well :D.
Movies take up more of the screen than normal (obviously), which is very nice. This replaced my old 15" LCD and it's about the size of TWO 15" LCDs right next to each other or at least it feels that way, it's that big.

Pros: Great quality. The picture is wounderful. No dead/stuck pixels from what I can tell. Acer has released a wounderful widescreen monitor.
Cons: The packaging was not well put the together and the screen cover wasn't covering the entire screen.
Other Thoughts: This is the second product I own that is made by Acer, with the first being a Acer TravelMate notebook. Both have been excelent and I highly recommend this company.
