Rating + 5 Fantastic

Pros: Solid Stand
Lots of Inputs
Great Picture
Fast Refresh Rate
Low Price

Cons: No audio pass through? Is this even available anywhere?
Touch Sensitive buttons not sensitive enough if you switch inputs frequently.

Other Thoughts: I have 3 of these purchased from a local retailer here in PA and no dead pixels. I wanted something 1080p, with 3 inputs and good reviews. I read about this one for weeks before I finally dove in once Uncle Sam sent my Tax Return.

Included all cables and setup was a breeze. 3 of these things across my desk is a thing of beauty. I use all three inputs on my middle monitor to keep my gaming rig and both my xbox 360s hooked up to one machine. I use speakers for the PC but just let the 360s run through the monitor speakers. Surprisingly decent sound for monitor speakers of that wattage.

I would not hesitate to recommend these monitors to anyone. Absolutely thrilled with my purchase.

Rating + 5 Love it!

Pros: I bought one of these (not from Newegg) a few months ago. I LOVE IT! What a great monitor. You really don't realize how big it is until its sitting on your desk. The monitor looks fabulous, works great, and is 1920 by 1080. It has HDMI, DVI, and VGA connectors. What more could you ask for?

Cons: The first one I got died about a week later - a blue line appeared up the middle of the screen and wouldn't go away. I returned it for a replacement and haven't had any trouble since.

One nit-pick that I don't like about the monitor is the touch sensitive controls. It is easy to brush against them and activate them without intending it. They are also funky when you want to use them, and sometimes don't activate. But this isn't a big enough issue for me to deduct an egg... maybe a 1/2 egg.

Other Thoughts: The screen is huge compared to my old 19" monitor, and there's plenty of screen real estate to open multiple windows and do several things at once. I was going to buy a second one, but I don't really need it.

Pros: Price - Res - Size - HDMI - Built in speakers - VEGA mount

Cons: Dead Pixel - Speakers don't sound very good at all.

Other Thoughts: Dead Pixel sucks but to top it off its pink and really bright.

Rating + 5 A great monitor with a great value!

Pros: I have owned a bunch of monitors over the years, and by far, this is the greatest monitor I have ever owned. The size is perfect for both PC gaming AND Xbox 360 gaming. It has the HDMI slot for gaming, and works great.

I have noticed no ghosting at all in any games or other graphic programs.

Colors are great! Very vibrant, and it has a setting for "Gaming" which I use for everything, makes games look good of course, but it also works well for regular internet browsing or graphic editing too.

Very bright, and stayed bright for a very long time. In fact I dont think I have even noticed the brightness lowering on the monitor from using it so much, so its well made.

Overall a great monitor which I would recommend to anyone!

Great price, works well with both PC and console gaming, great resolution, great colors, solid image, no broken pixels...

I cant say enough good things about this monitor.

Cons: None, at all. Really. I have not had any problems with this great monitor. The best 200 bucks I have ever spent...

Other Thoughts: Get it if you love gaming, you wont regret it. Its a huge upgrade over a 1280x1024 that most people use, in my opinion. :)

Rating + 5 Great Monitor

Pros: -Good resolutions
-No dead pixels
-good price
-hdmi is nice
-speakers work but what you would expect from a monitor
-I love the menu options and touch sensitive buttons

Cons: -There is slight discoloration when viewing from the side. However, not a big issue at all considering i never view it from the side. Any monitor in this price range will have the problem because they all use TN lcd panels.

Other Thoughts: This is the best monitor for the price. I am considering buying a second if i can find another good deal.

Rating + 5 REALLY GOOD

Pros: BIG Screen - Just right - easy to adjust, great picture - CHEAP for what you get - NO DEAD PIXELS - a gamer's monitor, easily !

Cons: Somewhat dust magnets - built in speakers are weak, but that ISN'T what they were bought for !

Other Thoughts: Own TWO now - side by side, bought one a year or so earlier, love BOTH of them - sure, could have bought one bigger one, BUT, would have been more expensive and this way, I can watch movies on the other - SWEET - !

Pros: Worked right out of the box. includes hdmi cable.

Cons: beware, after a month, 2 small dead pixels are visible on the monitor (upper left) and (bottom right).

Other Thoughts: If not for the dead pixels. this would have been a great monitor.

Pros: Great price when it was on Shellshocker, awesome picture, works like it suppose to.No any problem so far(two month),also come with HDMI cable, that's a plus.Well worth the money, can't beat it.

Cons: Not for now.

Other Thoughts: Sometime miss the BIOs post screen due to on time delay, but that still not a cons.Hope it last for years.

Rating + 5 WESOME!

Pros: Big bright bold price pure 1080HDMI goodness. Great product for the money it cost, TONS of adapters! It even has an HDMI cable!!! Best monitor I ever bought, All surfaces were covered with a protective films on the display surround. My first Acer display purchase certainly not my last. Best bang for your buck!

Cons: HDMI cable could have been longer, the built in speakers suck but I never have seen a display with good ones built in so if you need speakers I suggest buying them. The packaging could have been better(I made UPS wait for me to open it) HUGE! They don't offer a discount for multiple units, It doesn't clean, no glossy display but I'm not sure it would have been better.....

Other Thoughts: With all the new GPU'S going to higher resolution it only made sense to keep up with the times, again for the price its a no EGGER! Wish I had gotten more than one when the price was lower!

Rating + 3 virtical viewing issues

Pros: inexespensive, bright good controls, no bad or stuck pixels

Cons: This monitor loses its color perspective very quickly when viewed form upward angles. This means that when on the desktop and the upper portion on the monitor is at eye level the lower portion shifts colors brighter as if the screen is set to be too color saturated. Because I work with multiple windows, monitors and VMs this is very annoying. My other monitor is a HANNS-G witch does not have this issue. This one is going back going back

Other Thoughts: I did not get this from Newegg, Newegg rocks, but with monitor returns I did not want the take the chance or hassle. I made the decision to spend the extra money to buy locally in case there was a problem. Very glad I did. This monitor is probable great for gaming but where viewing color representation is a factor I would not recommend it.

Rating + 4 Very Solid Monitor

Pros: HUGE display screen, a great upgrade from any CRT or Flat Screen, realiable, touch sensor control is easy to use and a fun feature, the monitor is simply good good looking and the resolution is superb. Has been running almost non-stop for the last 4 months and there are no dead pixels and no complaints on the display side of things. You can view the entire screen from just about angle with no glare and no fading.

Cons: The built in Speakers are absolute garbage, they are TERRIBLE speakers, no audio out and no way to bypass these atrocious noise makers. The audio in line does not like my Creative Audigy SE soundcard but I don't use these speakers anyway. Would have been 5 eggs IF the speakers weren't such utter garbage.

Other Thoughts: This monitor is a fantastic one, and huge especially at the prices I find it for. Generally speaking Acer has been a big let down in the past with shotty computers and trashy peripherals but this monitor is one of the best I've ever seen or used. I would highly recommend this over any other brand name simply for the quality of the product and the how beautifully it just blends in, has been tested by me on Windows 7, Vista, and XP and only took minor adjustments to the video card to get Win7 working great.

Pros: ok this thing is great and a huge upgrade from my 720p tv, the picture looks great games, movies.

Cons: none really

Other Thoughts: i only have 2 things to say here 1)if you are haveing a hard time playing games on a smaller lower res monitor you may have to upgrade your computer like me =[ 2)if you dont have any good speakers start looking now cause the ones on this are not good but hey i got it for the monitor not speakers

Rating + 3 Nice Looking but.....

Pros: Beautiful piano black finish on the screen frame
Fairly easy to use controls, once you get used to Acer's logic
Gorgeous images provided by the 1080 full HD

Cons: Now that I've had this thing for almost 6 months a mysterious vertical red line has appeared on the right side of the screen. Technical support was pleasant but not much help and just told me to send it in for repair. I have owned many monitors but have NEVER had to have one repaired. Always had them for multiple years and only gave away when upgrading in size or in this case, resolution. Rather disappointed at this experience and will probably replace, then get this one repaired and donate it to someone. Not a good example of reliability to go peculiar in 6 months of use!!!

Other Thoughts: I'm not mad at Newegg....on the contrary. I'll most likely be ordering a Viewsonic to replace this one. Sorry Acer, but this is unacceptable quality for me. The hassle alone it NOT worth it!

Pros: Very clear text, works well on the DVI. I could never get the HDMI to fill the screen, so it looks great on DVI, I stay with that.
I had first bought an LG and the DVDs looked better on it but they look good on this Acer, not just quite up to the LG. But text on the LG was bad. Ans what do I use my computer for 99.9% of the time - text !

Cons: The front light doesn't go completely off when it is in sleep mode. No auto ambient light adjustment and the controls are a bit less than friendly - not enough to steal an egg from the review.

Other Thoughts: LED dispalys are going to be all you can buy soons, so don't rush to over pay on a display now. Get a good one like this and take another look in 12 months at the new technology

Rating + 5 Very Nice Monitor

Pros: Very nice contrast brightness (had to crank it down to 50%)
Makes older titles look great at 1920/1080 using hd4890 and hdmi cable.
Nice options for "non-widescreen" inputs
Quick adjusts for presets (text, graphics, internet etc.)
Coming from a samsung P204b like looking thru a window now!

Cons: Touch menu buttons a bit too "touchy"
Delay when first coming on makes it a bit tricky to catch the "post" screen like when making bios adjustments before windows loads. goes to sleep if it lloses the signal briefly

Other Thoughts: Found it at a local office supply store (hint: it was "easy") on sale and with a 20% coupon came out to less than one fity....great deal

Rating + 5 Very Happy

Pros: Looks great even with my ancient graphics card. No dead pixels, no bleeding, even lighting, no blur on video etc. great color HD resolution works well and looks great even through a standard VGA cable. The price for this quality of monitor is excellent.

Cons: I can't rate the speakers since I don't plan to ever use them.

Other Thoughts: This monitor has great performance and is visually stunning even if you are stuck with an old card that only supports VGA output. I am sure this monitor will fit well with an upcomming newer system / video card while exceeding my expectations with my current outdated setup.

Rating + 2 Fine for a few months

Pros: Nice picture. Cheap for HDMI and full 1080P.

Cons: It was fine for a few months but there is now a noticeable buzzing/humming coming from the display. For some reason I can stop the noise by cranking the brightness over 90% (or by selecting the "Graphics" preset with high brightness) but something is clearly not right.

Other Thoughts: I have 2 of the LG monitors that are very similar to this one and no problems at all. I would recommend them over this one.

Pros: This monitor looks great. The touch buttons are a nice feature. It's more of a swipe than push but very easy to use. No dead pixels. Played L4D and it looked great. I still need to get a 360 to play with. All in all very happy.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The monitor is a dust magnet.

Rating + 5 Great monitor for Price

Pros: Great Resolution (1080p), High Contrast (40,000:1), 3 Inputs (HDMI, DVI, VGA), Brings all 3 of the input cables (yes, hdmi!), looks great including aesthetically (glossy) and includes Touch sensitive buttons that light up dimly when monitor turns on, and gets brighter and button works when you put your finger against it. Perfect for game systems. (I play my xbox360 in 1080p...looks beautiful, can't wait for 1080p movie streaming coming soon.)

Cons: Like most Desktop LCD the speakers suck, I didn't expect to use them and its more of a bonus to have them anyway. But they don't take away from aesthetics or weight. They sound horrible due to having no bass whatsoever. But if you're like me or most users, you wont rely on monitor speakers anyhow (it's also difficult to find a desktop monitor with good speakers built in for a good price, unless you buy a TV monitor).

Other Thoughts: No complaints. Except speakers; but who buys a screen for speakers? You either buy a TV screen or a computer monitor without them. I didn't expect to use them at all. Great for Game systems, tried both x360 and PS3 in 1080p thru HDMI, looks very good, great contrast and Res for the price. 5 out of 5!

Pros: Big, nice shiny frame. Great picture. Nice tilt mount stand. No dead pixels. An excellent price too. Comes packed in a real nice box. Easy to assemble. The sockets on the back, DVI, power etc are easily accessible.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is the 5th acer monitor I've bought. They are all great. Of the five monitors I've had one dead pixel. So I gave that monitor to my wife. She never noticed.

Rating + 1 Whine and Broke after 5 months

Pros: It's big, so it really makes a dent when you throw it out the window in frustration when it breaks after a few months.

Cons: BROKE after 5 months. Symptom: initial flicker of the desktop then black, probably a fried board. BEFORE that, though, it developed numerous lines up the right side of the screen for a few weeks. From Day 1: HIGH PITCH WHINE. It's not too bad if you have music on, but silent it is absolutely not. After a day of writing, turning it off was a relief from what is a headache-inducing ear torture (the 20,000hz kind they deter kids from hanging out at the mall with). Note: this was an OPEN BOX deal from Newegg, so even though it was built in Feb.09, and shipped to me open box in April.09, it died long after 30 days in my possession, so I'm out of luck. My risk by taking a chance, but seriously, if it was refurbished, Acer didn't fix it right, and if not, well, I'd generally advise staying away from open box monitors.

GAMES/MOVIES: Terrible; this monitor has noticeable flicker from a sitting distance, distracting to the point of nigh-unwatchable.

Other Thoughts: Whiny monitor, broke after a few months, bad for games, bad for movies. I would not recommend. I'm currently on a Samsung SyncMaster 220WM that's just awesome.

Pros: Very nice picture NO dead pixels like others complain about, 3 inputs, onboard speakers, Touch sensor panel. Looks awsome on 360,PS3 and Bluray. No complaints

Cons: None for me, but if I HAD to pick something I would say the speakers could be better.

Other Thoughts: Good monitor, I have had nothing but good luck with Acer so far would and WILL buy more of these!

Rating + 5 Cheap + Quality = Good buy

Pros: 1) The picture quality is excellent, plus it gives you plenty of ways to alter the quality
2) has all 3(HDMI, DVI, VGA) connectors which was big for me since my computer monitors function as my entertainment center[I have my systems and computer hooked up to one monitor].
3)It is sturdy(sturdier than it looks)
4)touch buttons for a cleaner and smoother look.

Cons: 1)The touch buttons are not to my liking. I get nervous when I have to depend on touch sensor technology rather than good old fashioned pressure sensors.
2)The base is not as flexible as I would have liked. Now for the price and my needs this becomes a moot point, but it should be stated as other do require a very adjustable base.
3) Switching between inputs is a bit annoying to say the least. That is to say, there is no way to go directly to VGA from DVI, but rather have to switch to HDMI, wait for it to try to detect a signal upon which it automatically cycles to the next one rather than me being able to force it to the next input. Again, not going to knock an egg for this because it eats up maybe 1 - 2 seconds of my time.

Rating + 5 Cheap. Reliable. 1080P

Pros: *Great price
*Great contrast (even though it's Dynamic, it is well handled)
*1920x1080 (HD 1080 progressive)
*Matte Finish (provides some anti-glare protection)
*Touch sensor "buttons"
* HDMI, VGA, DVI (HDCP)
* HDMI, VGA, DVI cables. It includes each one.

Cons: *Base is a bit flimsy, it moves a lot if you move your desk. However the base is built with great quality, so even though it is flimsy it won't break anytime soon.
*Touch sensor buttons are a bit over sensitive
*You must calibrate the monitor. The colors appear washed out, however with some 3D color adjustments via your graphics card control panel you can get it to look better.

Other Thoughts: *You better have a great graphics card if you expect to play on 1080P on your PC. You can always set the resolution lower on the game lower, however it will look quite bad since the image will have to be resized.
*For DVDs, it is decent. Can't wait until I get my bluray player for my PC, no upscaling required..

Pros: 1080p

Cons: I have 2 dead pixels in the upper left corner of the screen, but still close to the center. After an hour with customer support it is clear that they will not do anything for me. I've run Jscreenfix and tried the massage technique with no success. Don't buy ACER unless you want dead pixels

Pros: Excellent contrast
Good refresh rate
Pleasant design
Simple operation

Cons: Poor audio out of top-rear firing speakers
Display angle doesn't adjust much
Slow to change inputs, and will auto-change input when a source goes offline (i.e. will switch from DVI when a computer reboots/sleeps/etc and end up on VGA for the second computer, so you have to keep switch inputs when you walk away and come back)

Other Thoughts: If you can't figure out how to change the internal speaker volume, use the left and right menu arrows.

- Beautiful Design
- Integrated speakers
- Came with all kinds of cords
- Auto adjust function works great
- Got it on sale at Staples for $180

Cons: - Integrated speakers are trash. They're OK for small sounds on low volume, but they're worse than cell phone speakers.
- Glossy black body attracts fingerprints.

Other Thoughts: Currently have my PC and PS3 hooked up to it. Hasn't given me a bit of problem yet. Would definitely buy Acer monitors again in the future.

Pros: My work monitor died and I needed a fast replacement. Got this at Big Box Blue on sale - same price as the Egg. Took some tweaking to get the right blend of brightness & contrast, since then it has been perfect. Zero bad pixels, comes with all 3 signal cables. BEAUTIFUL IMAGE. For the price, it cannot be beat.

Cons: none, nada, zero, zilch, the null set

Other Thoughts: I'm not a gamer, so ghosting isn't an issue. Also, I try to always sit in front of my monitor and have it adjusted at correct height and angle. So angle viewing isn't an issue for me, either. I do not understand why some people prefer to view their monitors from an angle - why the big deal about angle viewing.

Rating + 3 Not Bad, Not Great

Pros: Clear display, easy to navigate menus, hidden built in speakers, sleek design.

HDMI input is a nice feature (although I don't have much of a use).

Cons: The biggest to date are the left and right (also volume) buttons ceasing to operate. It does come with a warranty; however, I use this monitor everyday so I have yet to send it back to the manufacturer.

There is a lump on the rear left (right if you're looking at it from behind) that appears that it would have some ports or functionality. There isn't though. Perhaps its the same casing as a superior model..

Other Thoughts: The control buttons aren't in a straight line. This won't bother most people, but something worth noting.

Rating + 5 Double the Fun

Pros: Very sleak design, thin boarders make the screen itself seem bigger than 23". Great for Gaming and Photography. Great Price!

Cons: The touch buttons for the menu are a tad touchy, but then so are most other touch devices. just something to get used to, but then how often do you really use those menu's anyway?

Other Thoughts: I play alot of online games and do alot of photo editing of my photography. So far these monitors are awesome, and I say "monitors" because I am running two of these beasts side by side off my PC.

Others had made comments about dead pixals and other such issues, but so far neither of these monitors have had any issues of any kind and I have been Very Impressed by both of them.

Initially I choose this monitor because it was also available from Best Buy. However, I continue to be impressed with newegg's speed and reliability that I purchased both of the monitors from here.

Rating + 4 You get what you pay for

Pros: I mainly purchased the H233 for the great 1920x1080 resolution and the HDMI input. I love the HDMI input, because my laptop has both a VGA and HDMI out, and HDMI allows me to go up to 1920x1080, while the VGA limits me to 1280x?. I also like the viewing modes: Movie, Gaming, Document.

Cons: The stand... if all you need is a monitor to angle up and down then you've got the right monitor, if your looking for something else though, I would buy an additional stand. I happen to be lucky enough because I just used the stand from my old 19" Acer and it allows hieght adjustments and pivoting.

Other Thoughts: Remember, it is horrible for your posture to be looking down at a monitor for hours on end. Do yourself a favour and get the monitor within eye-level.

Pros: Works great , crystal clear picture .

Cons: The touch menu on mine has always been a battle to get to adjust but I have it set where I like it and really dont touch it beside turning it on and off.

Other Thoughts: Not a 120Hz monitor and not a x1200 resolution but those cost alot more.

Pros: Great picture, comes with all the cables you need, good price. What more do you need?

Cons: The stand is a little wobbly everytime I slide my keyboard out the monitor rocks back and forth.

Other Thoughts: Replaced my 17" CRT from 2001 so I still catch myself looking at the screen instead of fragging people. Also replaced my 19" bedroom tv, now my xbox games look like they should. Didn't use the built in speakers, I have a 7.1 surround sound by creative so why would I?

Rating + 5 Great Purchase!

Pros: Great size and definition for the price! (I got it for $170 before tax). This screen is incredibly sharp and bright, and it arrived with no dead pixels and in perfect condition. Fast shipping, and easy to unpack.

Cons: I didn't realize that California requires a $16 'recycling' tax for hardware of this type, so that added to the price a tad.

Not NewEgg's fault! Just keep this in mind, possible purchasers.

Other Thoughts: My first screen was that of my Macbook Pro, and I thought that was the sh*t, since apple certainly makes high quality products. But this monitor blows anything else out of the water! Using my laptop (DVI connection) to extend my screen, the image on the monitor is much, MUCH better using the same Macbook Pro hardware!

Rating + 5 Great Monitor

Pros: This was a very good deal. LARGE monitor under $200. It is big. It is very well made. I like the black shiny frame. The screen can tilt and I have no trouble viewing it, and I don't have to strain my neck. It is solidly built. The on/off switch is better than the other acer models I bought. NO DEAD PIXELS. I just plugged it in and it works fine. Didn't have to fool around with the menus. I like the hdmi connector so i can hook it up to the cable box if I want to. Also the connectors on the back of the screen are easier to get at than the previous monitors I've gotten. Small improvement, but it has a big effect for me.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend acer monitors. This is the 5th one I bought and I've been very satisfied. I haven't used the built in speakers.

Rating + 5 Quite good for the money

Pros: The aesthetic design is great. The glossy black case looks right snazzy. The white power LED is a nice touch. I personally found the lighted and touch activated OSD controls fantastic. They responded nicely to even my lightest touch, and did I mention they are illuminated text so you can easily see them in the dark. The color reproduction is right on, with nicely neutral grays even with factory settings. This monitor also displays true back, making for great contrast in pictures, games and video. I found the backlight to be acceptable with a barely noticeable bleed along the top and bottom. It also looks more like paper, with none of that "artificial LED-ness" that is so common with cheap displays. I imagine the average user would never even notice. Also the hue/gamma changes via viewing angle are minimal when in the head-on "user" position, making for relatively even tones across the screen.

I found the response time to be acceptable. Not great but good enough.

Cons: One this is a TN display, so the classic issues apply. While the backlight is good, its not perfectly homogeneous. Towards the bottom one a 100% black screen there is some bleed through. There is no Gamma setting in the OSD. Also this monitor has trouble defining very dark greys from pure black. In the standard 0-225 range, 0-6 is indistinguishable. The average user will probably never notice. But if you are really picky it will lead to slighty "blacked out" dark scenes.

Other Thoughts: I am an artist, so I'm quite a bit more discerning about colors and tones than the average user, but I did find this display quite acceptable, if not fantastic. But then I cannot afford the IPS or PVA displays.

Also the touch screen buttons, I plan to baby them. I suspect people who have had issues with them are apes who try and mash the buttons that only need the lightest touch.

If you want a decent monitor that gets the job done without issues, decent color accuracy, and a decent backlight, this is a good pick.

Even though its only good I give it 5 stars becasue is much cheaper than the admittedly better monitors.

Rating + 4 Great Kitchen Monitor / TV

Pros: Great resolution using VGA input. Simple controls and HDMI input are all great. HD movies using the HDMI input look great.

Cons: For some reason the DVI input doesn't give me the same resolution as the HDMI for DVD / HD-DVR inputs. Not a big problem but a bit annoying. Also wish it came with a remote. Speakers are average at best but I don't use them so no problem there.

Other Thoughts: We use this monitor in our kitchen as the media center hub. It works really well for our computer, Direct TV HD-DVR and DVD player (using a HDMI / DVI switch). Initially I was a bit frustrated that the lack of remote meant I couldn't turn it on / off with my Harmony remote, but I found the monitor automatically shifts to the input that is "live" so it works just fine.

Rating + 2 Need to view dead on

Pros: wide screen

Cons: Have to be looking directly at it, else its fuzzy and un viewable.

Other Thoughts: With all the glowing reviews, and the shell shocker price, I thought it would be tuff to go wrong with this monitor. I intended to use it to watch movies on, play computer games (at a short distance), and use as a regular monitor. However, you must be looking directly at it, to get any kind of good picture. Off to the side, or above or below, and you can forget it.

Since nobody else mentions this, perhaps my monitor was defective or something. I sold to the guy who works next to me. His wife really likes the wide screen and how she is able to display 2 web pages at once. They also notice the problem above, however, there primary use is looking at it dead on, so was ok with it.

Rating + 5 Works Great

Pros: Screen arrived and works great. It allows you to change inputs between VGA, DVI, and HDMI which I didn't know before hand but now really appreciate. I have my PC and Xbox360 hooked up to it and it runs both great. I also have the computer hooked up to the speakers in the monitor, and since HDMI carries sound and video the Xbox360 can play through the monitor's speakers also without having to unplug/plug in anything each time. Just make sure your Xbox360 has the HDMI output on it if you plan on doing this.

Cons: Had one dead pixel I've found. Sits a little lower than a 22" Acer monitor I'm using for dual monitors, but that's really no one's fault just unlucky I suppose.

Other Thoughts: Great monitor for a great price, if you don't want/need the speakers that come with this monitor though you can find it here on newegg for a little cheaper!

Pros: Good colors, I love 1920x1080 resolution! Good price, easy to hookup. Stand feels sturdy also. Comes with an HDMI cable! Nice feature.

Cons: - 1 stuck blue pixel in the middle!! :(
- Now I have an excuse to buy a new video card, my 8800gt 512 is having trouble keeping up with 1920x1080. Wait, that isn't a con!

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a 19" 1280x1024 Acer and wow what a difference! At first this made me feel like I was sitting in front of a TV (and I have a 46" TV). Currently have my old monitor hooked up for a dual monitor setup. Fun! Very happy with this purchase. Makes all my games look great! (TF2, L4D, UT3, COD4 etc)

Pros: Decent picture, 1080p resolution, includes HDMI, DVI, and VGA cables. Great price!

Cons: The touch-sensitive controls on mine are totally unresponsive. I don't know if this is just the monitor I got, or a common issue, but not worth paying shipping costs for RMA. All settings can be adjusted via included software, though there are compatibility issues with that as well. Entire problem could have been avoided if Acer had stuck with plain old buttons.

Rating + 3 Pretty Good For Price

Pros: Screen has a great picture. The clarity of HD content at native resolution is fantastic. Price for size. The touch buttons on the monitor all work and add a nice stylish touch to the monitor.

Cons: One stuck pixel near the center of my screen and it's blue. I understand all of the equipment that goes into these things and accept the one, but I sure wish it wasn't right there in the middle.

At native resolution in Vista 64 my taskbar is pushed halfway off the bottom of the screen. This happens with both HDMI and DVI. I contacted Acer customer support and they gave me a link to the troubleshooting that it's the manual and told me I needed to register the product. The English was slightly broken so I don't think it's U.S. Tech Support. I'm using the HDMI with a DVI/HDMI converter to my graphics card so I could scale my resolution to 1920x1058 so I could see my taskbar.

The H.Position, V.Position, Focus, Clock, and Auto Config features in the menu are grayed out and unusable in the menu. I'll likely return this for a replacement as I'm assuming something is wrong wtih it.

The blacks aren't the blackest I've seen on an LCD, but they do alright.

Other Thoughts: - 2 GeForce 275's running in SLI
- ASUS M4N82 Deluxe
- Vista 64 Home Premium

Rating + 5 Drop-dead GORGEOUS

Pros: Went to Best Buy looking at the X203H, came home with this bad boy instead. My only other LCD experience is with a 14" laptop monitor and the low-end ones we have at work, but other than that, I did all my gaming on an old CRT. All I can say is... WOW. The real estate on this puppy is massive! My wife remarked that to see from one end of the screen to the other, you almost have to turn your head!

Why did I pick this over the X203H? First off, I like the bigger screen. Also, frivilous as it may be, it just looks totally sexy. The menu buttons are all touch-sensitive, and the power button is very classy. I wanted to have HDMI support, too, in case I ever upgrade to an HDMI-capable card/want to hook up my PS3.

Overall this monitor destroyed my expectations. Nice and bright, gaming is simply stunning, the colors are beautiful, and it's just downright huge compared to what I'm used to. Definitely worth every penny!

Cons: None that I can think of... maybe the touch-sensitive buttons could be a little brighter?

Other Thoughts: PROSPECTIVE BUYERS: I knew the X203H came with a DVI cable, but Best Buy said nothing about this monitor including one. One rep said most do, another rep said most don't! After much deliberation, I decided to just suck up the price of a DVI cable and buy it. When I opened the box, I found that not only did it included a DVI cable, but also a VGA cable and an HDMI cable! Talk about value!

Rating + 5 Rich, sharp picture quality

Pros: For the price, this monitor displays an excellent picture quality. The whites are crisp and bright, the blacks are sufficiently dark, no noticeable backlight brightness deviation through the screen, no pixel-to-pixel bleeding. This monitor also allows for versatile connectivity, allowing for VGA, DVI, and HDMI.

Cons: Speakers sound tinny, but that's expected from LCD monitor speakers. I use this monitor as a dual-head display with my laptop. Would be nice if this monitor had a line out jack for audio output extracted from HDMI. This would minimize the connectivity between my laptop and my external peripherals. A line out would allow me to connect my speaker set directly to the monitor, and allow me to use only one cable (HDMI) for both audio and video from my laptop.

Other Thoughts: Although I buy most of my peripherals and electronics from newegg, I did not buy this monitor from here. I prefer to buy TVs or monitors at a physical store so I can actually see the screen prior to buying it.

Pros: amazing quality, it replaced our 19" HD tv set as the primary tv viewing setup and it has made a world of difference... crisp clear hd picture, all pixels working, worth the investment. audio isn't as terrible as it's made out to be for a built-in monitor speaker system. the touch panel buttons are sweet, hopefully they stay functional

Cons: wish i had a remote to switch between inputs and turn it on/off, oh well

Other Thoughts: no problems plug-n-playin' dvi (laptop), vga (old winxp machine), or hdmi (scientific atlanta 8300hd/time warner cable set top box)

Rating + 5 A Month In And...Still Rock-Solid!

Pros: Excels at any 16:9 resolution (not just 1920x1080 non-interlaced, which is the default), which is decidedly atypical for LCD (which normally falls off big-time outside the default resolution). Still 0 pixel deaths or stickage.

Cons: Sorry; they are still at Pelican Bay.

Other Thoughts: For those looking for monitor drivers: if your operating system has a generic Plug and Play Monitor setting (which it certainly should), use that. I don't know of a modern operating system (with the sole exception of OS X Leopard) that would need display drivers (and in Leopard's case, it's an operating system specific issue with 10.5.7 and up).

Pros: It's a good monitor - very clear and pretty crisp - One thing everyone does not tell you is that it's not very tall vertically screen wise but of course very wide - it almost seems too wide - kinda disporpationate - The nice thing is that you can put up 2 to 3 web pages up at the same time which is kinda cool - Gaming on it takes some getting used to - meaning just seeing the widescreen format - I went from a SAMSUNG 19" - which is tall but not that wide - It's almost like giving up Vertical real estate for Horizontal real estate - and that's something most people don't really consider - I got mine for $179.00 & no tax - best buy price match :) - SO I might keep it!

Cons: Very wide kinda dispaportionate as a whole - again simply my opinion-

Other Thoughts: NO - great monitor in general - IF I was going to recommend a Monitor to some friends, which I do all the time - It would easily be this one by far.... Over all - really clean looking monitor

Rating + 5 Great Product

Pros: Huge monitor. The 23" was a big step up from my 17" monitor. If you are looking for a larger monitor, you can't beat the price. The HD aspect was a big deal for me because I use this monitor for my computer as well as my PS3. The ability to switch between the inputs is simple. Lots of people seem to complain about the sound, but I haven't had any trouble with them. They might not be top of the line speakers, but they are more of an added bonus for a $200 monitor. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking to upgrade their monitor.

Cons: The only thing I've noticed is that windows media player isn't quite compatible with the screen size. It over compensates so you lose some of the top and some of the bottom of the picture.

Rating + 5 Agree with DonTomazzo

Pros: I got it for $176. Bright, big, seemingly good contrast ratio, has a built in speaker that is good enough for me. The speaker was a nice bonus, it adds no bulk.

Cons: These are relatively insignificant, but the base does seem a little flimsy even for the price. The oval base is wobbly. The screen does take a moment to start up so if you aren't pushing the delete key before the screen starts you will miss bios. This could be a problem for dual boot situations where the timeout on the bootloader is short. For instance, loading ubuntu from wubi one can easily miss the boot loader.

Other Thoughts: Also, this may be user error, but I have the monitor mounted with a standard wall mount. Everything is fine, but I can't figure out how to easily take of the post of the stand. The base of the stand is easily removable; thus, I have it mounted on the wall with the neck of the stand still attached.

Otherwise, it is a great monitor.

Pros: No out Pixels! Great Picture, Way Better than any of my other 8 monitors in color and ratio. Better then my HP. This is my 3rd one of these, and I have yet to get one with a stuck/out pixel. Great buy; Wish I had more money for more of these!

Cons: The speakers in this are worse than my free dell ones I got 8 years ago. But I didn’t buy this for the speakers and knew they weren’t the best.

Other Thoughts: Well worth the cost! If it’s too pricy for you try looking at the Acer H213H Bmid. Pretty much same quality for less of a price tag but smaller screen. (21.5)

Rating + 5 Great Monitor

Pros: I've this monitor for about 4 months and have no dead pixels as of now. Comes with an HDMI cable, and has more than one inputs, meaning you can switch back and forth from your PC and your console (ps3/x360) with ease. That may not sound cool, but it was to me since this was the first LCD HD monitor I've ever owned. I was stuck with a stupid 16" SD monitor until I finally bought this. It was worth every penny. Great size, great price. Hooking my brand new laptop up to this thing makes games look incredible.

Cons: The menu touch panel is a joke. It doesn't register the touch like more than half of the time.

And, as expected, the speakers probably aren't recommended. Nice touch nonetheless, but you'll want a separate speaker system to go along with this.

Other Thoughts: Buy. Seriously, Acer is the best brand you'll probably find.

I did have some problems with the monitor just shutting off, but then I researched it and realized that my desktop's video card was just overheating, so that's not the monitor's fault.

Rating + 1 Never Buy an Acer

Pros: None

Cons: We use a lot of Acer Monitors in business and they are constantly burning up the AC/DC converters and back lighting. We have had them for about 1 1/2 yrs and have lost at least 60-70% of the 30 plus monitors we have had. We have since started replacing them with NEC's (multisync).

Other Thoughts: Acer needs to get out of the monitor business.

Rating + 4 Returned for repair

Pros: Very bright and clear; no objectionable video anolmalies; have not used the speakers nor HDMI input; "neat" controls, although not intuitive (to me).

Cons: High pitched hum/buzz if you try to lower the brightness (which is too bright at its default maximum setting); After 2 months, my unit developed a bright green line running vertically at the far right side of the screen.

Other Thoughts: Acer was willinig to accept unit for repair; has cost me $17.41 to ship (UPS insured). Will report on the repair job.

Rating + 5 Excellent Value

Pros: Very large screen for a relatively low price. No dead pixels.

Cons: Screen takes a couple seconds to boot up, so to speak. This makes getting into the BIOS a little tricky, but if you're the kind of person who gets into the BIOS a lot, you probably know how to get there blind. Not really worth taking off an egg since its only a minor inconvenience.

Stand is somewhat flimsy, but to be expected from plastic. Again, not enough to take off an egg unless you have a need to be dancing on your desk.

Other Thoughts: Planning on buying a second one.

Rating + 5 great monitor bad tv

Pros: The picture is crystal clear with out a single dead pixel its worth the price if your looking to use the monitor.

Cons: the built in speakers are trash, rubish, a disgrace. need i go on?
also i was looking forward to hooking up my xbox but since the onboard sound i soo bad, i decided to get a cable that goes from the xbox to vga and L&R out put, so i could hook up my speakers.

Other Thoughts: if you have a lower class computer with a 7300 gt like i do, upgrade your card first, i was like awsome ! then i turned on counter stirke on the new res and was like Not AWSOME MAN. so i now play on a low setting, oh and by the way on games dont play 1920 by 1080 do 1600by900, AND !!! you get like 10 fps higher with the ak out on cod4 then the m4, i loled

Rating + 5 Great Pricing & LCD

Pros: I installed on my Windows 7 operating system. No problems what so ever. I am very impressed with the picture and ease and the ease of navigating their menu options.

Cons: no cons

Other Thoughts: I checked pricing on this particular LCD monitor at several sources and New Egg was the best on the price by at $20.00, and with the free shipping that made it an unbeatable deal. I highly recommend

Rating + 5 Acer has a new customer!

Pros: WOW...! This is an amazing monitor! Colors are phenomenal, no dead pixels (Sorry to the people that do), bright colors and excellent add-ons (DVI, HDMI, VGA cables). Took a risk but I'm NOT disappointed... It's main purpose is for gaming at 1080p, HD Blu-ray movies. Love it, would buy another one if the Mrs. lets me ;) Newegg ROCKS!!

Cons: None at this moment...

Pros: Great resolution
No dead pixels
Looks good gaming on

Cons: Don't buy if for the sound

Other Thoughts: The sound for the product isn't the best that I've heard but I didn't buy it for the sound (my logitech X-240 does the job). I think the resolution looks great. I saw it was on sale for 179.99 and considering I was looking at something that would cost 300+ I thought why the hell not. I'll be getting a new computer in the fall (late summer) so Ill have to test this out on its HDMI port then (nvidia 295 or something later).

Also the box that newegg shipped the product in was very dirty... like its been sitting in a factory for a long long time or something... not sure what was up with that.

Rating + 3 Great Monitor BUT no drivers...

Pros: What a beautiful monitor! And the interface to the monitor setup is quite sexy.

Cons: no manual or driver cd. Being ACER, you'd think you could download the drivers... but can YOU figure out how to get into their site? It sends you in circles.

Other Thoughts: Post the drivers and the manual on newegg.

Rating + 5 Excelent Monitor

Pros: Great size, 1080P, comes with vga, dvi, and hdmi ports and cables. Touch controls are sexy and unique. Overall awesome monitor. Great bang for your buck.

Cons: Horizontal viewing angle isn't all that great but why using it while standing up anyway? Monitor speakers are horrible, but most people use another set of speakers anyway

Other Thoughts: Horizontal viewing angle isn't all that great but why using it while standing up anyway? I'd buy it again

Rating + 5 Amazing Monitor!

Pros: This monitor is HUGE! It looks amazing in 1080p. No dead pixels. Comes with VGA DVI & HDMI outputs and all necessary cables. You cant complain about that. I play WoW and let me tell ya this thing has room for everything on the screen. colors = phenominal.
You get more than what you pay for.

Cons: none at the moment.

Other Thoughts: I currently have this display hooked up to my laptop and i noticed that it seemed to flicker a lot. I hooked the monitor up to a desktop and the flickering went away. After further testing i came to the conclusion that its actually my laptop itself causing it. If your having this problem then play with your laptops power settings, it fixed my problem.

Other people complain about the speakers, i agree they arent the best in the world. When im watching movies on my comp with the monitor i actually do use them, they make great tweaters. It helps balance out the sound some. They werent designed to be like TV speakers nor as clear..

Rating + 5 Very Nice Monitor

Pros: Simply a very nice monitor. There's probably better, but not that I found for anywhere near the price. Has very good color balance & accuracy, & can be calibrated well. Text is very readable, the viewing angle is pretty wide, & it comes with all the cables, saving you some cash.

Cons: It came with one stuck, red pixel (out of 2,073,600), which frankly is very hard to find, let alone notice. The controls use touch sensors, which look great, but they don't always respond to my touch. Comes with a CD that's useless -- no drivers (icm profile) so you need to download from Acer's site, & the program on the CD for adjusting the monitor won't work after install... Warning: when I restarted after removing this software, it looked like the video card just went bad -- it was all right next boot. As noted in on-line reviews, this monitor is a bit weak when it comes to gray scale at both black & white ends of the color space (common with LCDs), & during calibration with Lutcurve it's easy to tell the gamma levels are not uniform top to bottom.

Other Thoughts: I was worried when I ordered this sight unseen, & wouldn't have taken the chance with any site but NewEgg... There's just a bunch of poorly performing LCDs (monitors & HDTVs) out there, and without seeing them 1st hand, you really have no idea how good a particular brand / model is (or isn't). Turns out I shouldn't have been concerned. A few years back I checked every store within miles & picked up an LG 1932 TQ after deciding it had the best display I could find -- this Acer is sitting right next to it & has a better picture.

Rating + 4 Great Buy!

Pros: Nice, big, colorful picture. They work. Good price (on sale!), fast shipping. What more to ask for? I got 2!

Cons: There was this distinct humming coming from the monitor when I first bought it, but I haven't heard it in about a week now. It seemed to come with varying colors on the screen.

Other Thoughts: The way they're angled, I don't seem to be able to get them exactly together on my dual-head setup, but close enough. Haven't used the built-in speakers, so I don't know how good they are. Also, I've got 2, and their colors are sometimes slightly off. Haven't quite pinned that one down yet.
