Planned Obsolescence?
Pros: This monitor seemed reasonably functional for three years. Our only real gripe was that the image is clipped a little behind the bezel.
Cons: After almost three years, the display turned PINK overnight. We tried adjusting the color, checking the VGA cable, unplugging and replugging the power, etc. Nothing helped. Among the previous 9 reviews, I saw another user whose monitor also had drastic color problems, so this looks like a design / manufacturing flaw.
Other Thoughts: I think our three-year warranty has two more weeks, so I'm going to try to get an exchange. Mighty coincidental timing of this failure, though...

Worthy Monitor
Pros: High native resolution relative to screen area. great blacks/color representation. pretty good brightness.
Cons: a bit small by todays standards.
Other Thoughts: I purchased this monitor for a specific purpose: gaming. It's done its job well. a almost-insivible 'burn-in' line is near the bottom left corner(I left VLC open for a long time...over a week, forgot to turn the monitor off while i was away), so i dont blame that on the construction. the high native resolution pretty much negates any need for antialiasing due to the low relative surface area. if you dont plan to sit far from your monitor, it's a solid choice.

Excellent Monitors
Pros: Cost, brightness, value!
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I installed 4 of these in a supermarket for customer displays and they have performed flawlessly. Nice and bright.

nice monitor
Pros: good color. no dead/stuck pixels. good response time with nvidia gforce fx 5200 video card and 256mb on the card.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: i bought this monitor for a friend of mine. i was concerned about the viewing area being large enough, because he doesn't have the best eye sight. he has had no problem viewing the screen at 1024x768.

Pros: Started out great! Good color, which is important because I am a Graphic Designer.
Cons: Sunday, March 1, the monitor started "switching" colors. Normal, to very green. And back and forth... Hideously annoying. I double checked the connections. That's not the problem.
Other Thoughts: I'm going to ask for an exchange. I think my head will explode if they say no. I have photos of the color difference.

Always Reliable...
Pros: I highly recommend this series to anyone who needs an inexpensive and trustworthy monitor for home or business that is not going to give out in a couple years. This is one of the most popular monitors in business offices today, and rightfully so, but its also good for recreational use (gaming, multimedia, etc.). Great product from a reliable company; and hats off to newegg as always!
Cons: None.

Nice workhorse monitor for a reasonable price
Pros: Clear, sharp, and good color. I use two of them for photo editing and graphic design work. Once color-calibrated (ALL monitors need to be calibrated), it works great.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Can't think of a better deal. Solid construction, and it's not ostentatious.

Good LCD for the price
Pros: Everything you would expect from a standard lcd
Cons: no DVI, but that's not a big deal
Other Thoughts: If your looking for an entry level lcd and prefer fullscreen to widescreen, this was made for you

Great Value
Pros: Bought 2 of these for my kids systems. Arrived very well packed with the base needing to be attached. Hooked both up via VGA and have had no problems. Kids love the size (they had 14" CRTs) and picture. LCD has a matte finish and not the glossy cover that tends to cause sever glare issues in other flat-panel monitors. Small footprint and great picture.
Cons: Would be nice if it had a height adjustment.
Other Thoughts: Overall a great monitor for any price.

I love Viewsonic
Pros: I buy ViewSonic all the time at my work and I have never had one go bad on me yet. They are simple to install and are user friendly. The best part is that Newegg has them cheaper than anybody else!!!
Cons: Absolutely nothing!!!
