I sent it infor repair under warrent. It cost me one thirty dollars to ship it and they have had it for a month and a half so far. If you try to call customer sevice you will be on hold for atleast an hour. Call them before you buy if you dont believe. Good monitor, but terrible customer service! Went from a 17" crt that took up my whole desk to this wonderful creation. It took a long time for me to finally get rid of my smirk while using this monitor. Quality = BEAUTIFUL! Cons: A con is that there is no con, which makes a review boring. DARN YOU VIEWSONIC FOR MAKING A PERFECT PRODUCT WITH NO CONS!! :) Other Thoughts: Will be purchasing 2 more soon. N/A Tech Level: high Ownership: more than 1 year	1/2/2008 4:16:59 PM digital is DEAD Pros: ok i dont own this specific model rather its predecessor VX2025WM its a great monitor got it for a song locally and havent seen that price ANYWHERE. since then. Its bright large screen makes even the smallest fine print legible. Cons: well it took over a year for the digital input to die R.I.P. the speakers arent worth the wasted cable Other Thoughts: for me i ordered 1 monitor through the "EGG" of a different brand was a bit worried by the handling in transit. since then i have decided that the freight companies are just to rough and would rather buy local. i gave it 4 eggs it did take over a year for the monitor to die at least the digital side BUT i still have the d-sub..oh well back to the drawing board. It's crisp picture and bright evenly lit screen are quite nice. Cons: First one arrived with many dead pixels. But Newegg rocks and sent another which had none. It's been a year later and still going strong. The shiny case looks cheap and has a kind of cheap feel to it. It doesn't make any functional difference but it doesn't have a professional look to it. I sent one back and it has returned today and works great, so now I know the three I got were messed up. Now I need to get NewEgg to replace the other two. Analog or Digital. Cons: Price. Other Thoughts: I've had this monitor for approximately 6 months. I got it to replace a dead ViewSonic CRT. Put it on an analog signal at first. Was alright. Put on new computer with DVI and the image improved greatly. I have never plugged in the speakers, so I don't know how they sound. I hope this ViewSonic lasts a bit longer than my last ViewSonic CRT. Cons: I am a graphic artist. Another review I read that was posted after I purchased this monitor stated a problem with the edges of the monitor being brighter than the rest. This is absolutely true. However it is not why I am returning this monitor. I am returning it because when displaying dark colors (not all the way black) but dark, pretty major flickering can be noticed. I have tried to suck it up and deal with this, but after looking at the screen for a while it really hurts your eyes because of the flicker. Other Thoughts: Don't be fooled by noobs who reviewed this 5 star. oh and I found out because it is on sale I cant return this for a refund. I can only replace with another of the same model. It is quick (even in fast FPS games such as BattleField2). The native resolution is impressively high and the colors are very crisp. Cons: It seems just a bit pixellated to me. I don't think most people would notice it, but in highly detailed images, I can see the pixelation just a bit. Perhaps it's too many years looking at a CRT (they tend to bleed quite a bit more). Perhaps the mask isn't as tight as some other models and hence the great price. Other Thoughts: Worth the price even with a touch of grain to the picture. The colors are vibrant and clear and it is simply amazing in games. the stretching of a few non-widescreen games (such as battlefield 2142) is something to get use to but without a doubt they are still amazing. The monitor is ideal for LAN parties as well. it is durable (trust me) and the speakers work amazingly well for their size. plus it has a swivel base, very handy when in a room with 16 of your closest gamer friends. Cons: the built in menu is a tad touchy or my tastes, nothing technically wrong with it just a peeve. also, in certain dark scenes of movies and games you can see the backlight 'aura'. Other Thoughts: This monitor has been imidiatly detected by three different cards with both interfaces right off that bat. ViewSonic Woes Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year	5/8/2007 8:22:28 PM ViewSonic Used to Be Good . . . Pros: ViewSonic has excellent customer service and at this rate I'll have a new monitor every year because they consistently fail within warranty. Cons: After 8 months of use my VX2025 has dead digital input. I realize that the VX2025 is the predecessor to the VX2035. I have also heard that it said that the VX2025 is better than the VX2035. If that is the case, steer clear of this monitor! I turned it on today - no display. It's now on analog, thanks to the handy digital-to-analog adapter that came with my video card I can still use it. I am very disappointed that it has dead digital in less than a year. If my situation were any different I would not buy a ViewSonic again. Other Thoughts: Prior to this purchase I had the VX924. The first one I returned for horrible back-lighting problems all around the edges of the display. It's replacement had dead digital signal input. I am in the process of building a new PC so it is currently only through VGA so I can't wait to see the switch over to DVI. Stand is very secure without having a huge footprint. Blue power button is not as bright as everyone is making it out to be. Cons: Speakers had to be built in. I search for many monitors at a good price without speakers, but still came back to this one. Pros: awesome monitor Cons: viewsonic is horribly incompatible with all ATI x1950 series video cards!!!!!!!! i had an x1950 pro and i noticed a TON of monitor flicker (LCD's don't flicker...). i thought it was the video card until i had a friend test it at his house. my card displayed perfectly on his 24" non-viewsonic screen. then when i plugged this monitor into his computer which had an X1950XT card, it was FLICKER CITY! i'm so mad about this whole deal. i've already committed to selling my card and now, since i cannot deviate from the x1950 series because i built my system around it and ATI, i need to sell the monitor and buy a new one! X1950anything + VIEWSONIC = TERRIBLE FLICKER AT NATIVE RESOLUTION!!!! THIS IS NOT THE MONITOR'S FAULT! ATI's DRIVERS ARE TO BLAME! Movies (DVDs) that I had seen many times, it was like watching for the first time. Also fantastic for Photoshop work. I think it is a beautiful display. Outstanding color rendering. AMD4Life Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year	3/28/2007 4:19:53 PM Almost Perfect Pros: In a direct viewing angel this things is almost perfect. If there could be anything to call perfect this would be it. Paired with x2 7600gt's games and movies never looked more realistic. HD support at 720 along with nice stand makes this an ideal buy getting a 2nd one as well for next machine. Cons: Althou not a Pro grade screen it will match with them in quality. Major problem is the low viewing angel from the sides and up and down. When watching a movie "This is our DVD player" you have to sit up almost in a perfect line with it to get the full effect but its worth a few mins of discomfort for the picture it can deliver and fast to. Other Thoughts: Buy a pair of them. Being Widescreen makes them alot more useful. I went from a 17' Acer to this 20' and I have a very hard time with smaller regular square shaped display's, there's no room to move anything around. Did you find this review helpful? NC Tech Level: high Ownership: 1 month to 1 year	3/23/2007 7:46:29 PM Good but its not a VX2025 Pros: -Beautiful image quality -Fast response -Good warranty -Dual inputs Cons: -Tilt capability not as good as previous VX2025 model -Switching between DVI/VGA is problematic...both 2025/2035 seem to share this issue -Monitor casing is cheaper feeling than previous VX2025 -Black quality still not the best Other Thoughts: I actually own the VX2025 model which was last years version of this. At the time of purchase I had the option of the 2025 or 2035. I tested both and I went with the 2025 because the difference between the two models was basically case design and response speed. Setup was easy, instructions were extremely clear and precise. Forgetting that the monitor itself is an aesthetic marvel, the picture is downright fantastic. For the 10 minutes I had this monitor plugged in and running, its picture clarity and sharpness were truly something to behold. WSXGA+ not WSXGA(see below). No dead/stuck pixels out of the box as far as I can tell. Sturdy METAL base. No annoying stickers (I had feared the worst...). DVI cable included. Modest, yet cool, blue LED power light. Gloss finish. Seriously, I could go on and on... Cons: Glad to report that, so far, I have found no cons dealing with picture quality/sharpness/brightness. I didn't want to have to pay extra for speakers that I will not use. I cannot tell you about the speaker quality because I did not hook them up. The stand seems to fix the monitor a little high, but the vertical tilt adjustment should be just fine for this (as I do not have an adjustable office chair in my room). The stand does not swivel or pivot in any way, but again, not a huge deal for me. Cable management is external rather than internal like some of the other monitors in this line. Cable connections are a tad cramped in the back, just be careful. Nothing too serious. Other Thoughts: Believe it or not, it was the WSXGA+ feature of this monitor that finally caused me to choose it over the half-dozen others I was looking at. WSXGA+ makes all the difference. I was looking at some WSXGA monitors today and the picture and sharpness just doesnt measure up. It's probably not a tremendous difference, but the number/pitch of pixels really matters. As always, Newegg and their shipping rocks (ordered at 1:45am Thursday, received 1:00pm Friday). The box came with a slight tear but nothing deep enough to penetrate the packaging. I spent almost a week nonstop trying to pick out a decent monitor in this price/size range. This line of VS monitors has received some very high praise. The reviewers obviously knew what they were talking about. If youre not looking to spend a fortune for a 20", the performance is vastly superior to all others for the price. I own 5 of these monitors and love every one! Dual inputs are awesome. Cons: The backlight bleeds through a little on dark images. It bleeds through in different places on each monitor, but usually around the top or bottom edges. Not really noticeable though unless the whole screen is black. Not worth losing an egg. Other Thoughts: One of the monitors had a stuck pixel when I bought it, but was easily fixed by powering it off, putting pressure on the screen where the pixel was, and turning the power back on. Worked flawless ever since. Also, the monitor will automatically switch inputs if it detects no signal from one or the other. I personally dont like that because if I have to reboot, it will switch to my other computer, then I have to go and switch it back manually :-/ Unfortunately I only bought 1 of them from Newegg. Play Halo and NFSHP2 w/ the DVI cord and GeForce 6500, and it was smooth and crisp. No dead pixels. 16801050, I may be able to have over 400 icons on my desktop. Pros: At Wide Screen 1650 x 1050 pix native res, 800:1 contrast and 5ms grey response, I am dreaming while watching DVD on full wide screen! (I had to put sunglasses on some high light screens, LOL) Cool Blue LED light in front, easy on the eye, unbelievable crisp picture. It rocks! and the price ... :) Cons: None yet! Other Thoughts: Some web pages are stretched, but that's OK - I see more real estate to the right side of the screen! No deformation on Circle or Photos, must use the latest drivers in all OSs. Taksemanyin Tech Level: somewhat high Ownership: 1 week to 1 month	2/26/2007 1:04:36 PM Succulant Pros: Size is perfect, I don't think I could take advantage of any more real estate without being uncomfortable. The picture is beyond clear, after a little adjusting the color/contrast/brighness are perfect! Text is perfect, no fuzz, no shadow, just clear text. Gaming and movie watching is fantastic. No ghosting, no problems with any fast-paced anythings. Cons: It took me a minute to realize that the vertical tilt adjust was existent and that I wasn't going to break the stand trying to tilt it to near-flush for optimal viewing. This leads to the fact that, yes, the vertical viewing angle is somewhat limited. But after day one and adjusting it to how I sit, it hasn't been a problem since. Even when I go to the back of the room and watch movies on it, everything remains flawless, it was simply angled way too high when I got it. Other Thoughts: Glad I switched to widescreen, it doesn't really take any getting used to, just...Bam! You're in. It's a thrill to play games like WoW and CS:Source on this baby. Likewise, really nice to have a document up and firefox nextdoor for quick reference. That sticker on my high gloss finish? Not an issue, I merely peeled up a corner and slowly pulled it off. I swear, it's like the other reviewers have never had to remove a car decal before. The actual appearance of the monitor is nice too. This is a huge upgrade over my old 17" crt. The widescreen aspect ratio is really nice. I can't see any ghosting with this monitor either. Pros: all this new reallistate I now have ( and in digital too! ) compared to a 15inch monitor I just gave to my mom. Life is just beautiful now! As for the logo, that is a stupid gripe that some are crying over. Just like complaining about the speakers. I can't imagine that anyone would by this monitor and not have there own speakers. But then again, I can't see why these makers would even think to build a monitor with speakers especially in this age of PC! Cons: Hate to say it, but there are some cons. First: the stretched look in some games is true. So if your game is not formatted to play in widescreen the monitor will force it to play at its native res. And when I finish playing, it takes away my desktop wallpaper I had set and puts me back to grey. Other Thoughts: UPS scared me big time! showed up at my door with the monitor and the box had a tear the size of my foot on the screen side. Very lucky that I don't have not one pixel problem at all! It has a nice sharp and crisp picture and the finish looks great. No problems with dead pixs. Cons: Bought and returned 2 of these for the following reasons. Extreme amount of black light leakage coming from 3 sides which made the black channel very washed out. The blue LED "on" light that's on the monitor bleeds through to the lower side of the monitor. I get a really crisp picture from both, and the refresh rate keeps up with both of my machines. Though the resolution isn't 1080p or 1920x1080, it still supports really high resolutions. Cons: the buttons start to suck after a while. i've been leaving my monitor on so i don't have to push as many buttons and get them stuck inside the monitor. the speakers are not meant for any gaming or movies. don't even bother. if you can hear it, your lucky. plus, when it is capable of being heard, the bass is really bad, crackling relatively most of the time. thats why i stick with my computer speakers. Pros: I didnt buy this monitor on newegg becuase i wanted it right away so i picked it up at a local store. The monitor is great very good color and sharpness, alot better than my Samsung 205bw that i have on another computer. Text is very clear on DVI havnt tried analog yet. I play BF2, Call Of Duty, Guil Wars, and EverQuest 2 all on this montior and they all look great, absolutly 0 ghosting on anything. Whites look well white unlike on some other LCDs that have a tendacy of having a slight pale yellow tent, blacks are very good on this monitor i was expecting a little grey but there was none to be found once i started using it except on a full screen thats black in a dark room. Id recomend this monitor to anyone that needs a high end monitor for gaming, movies, and photo editing. Cons: none at the moment Other Thoughts: Great monitor if you are willing to put out a few more $$ over other monitors. Some people complain about widescreen LCDs only having 60hz refresh at max resolution and that text is too small heh this monito looks best at 1280, 800 at 75hz everything is in perfect scale squares are of course square and circles are well circles, text is large enough to read a few feet away and nothings is to big either just right, some resolutions however will distort the picture and make things not look proportionate like they should. One more thing some people have complained that an lcd dosnt look great dead on, this is becuase LCDs have a clear layer of material over them and LCDs are designed to be looked at a slight tilt like this / so try that before you get all hyped up about it not looking as good as a crt they have come a long way sence their release a few years back. Cons: I assume the speakers suck. Other Thoughts: I game quite a bit and was holding out on getting and LCD monitor because of ghosting issues. I received this monitor as a gift for Christmas and haven't plugged my old 21" CRT back in yet. In fact I gave it away. I have had no problems and I dont think other will be dissapointed. These are the games I have played with it: BF2, BF2142, Madden 07, Warcraft III, and Solitaire. I haven't tried the speakers, because I'm assuming they're not the greatest, so if you think you're getting speakers as good as the screen, think again. The quality of the materials is above average. Make sure to set the monitor to "auto adjust" or else you may get some funny results. Overall, it's a great deal. Cons: The absolutely, positively, utterly, and completely STUPID STICKER on the (otherwise beautiful) LACQUERED HIGH GLOSS BLACK FINISH. Why, ViewSonic, why is it necessary to continue advertising this screen after it has been sold?? I took this sticker off too quickly, and it left a residue. Since I'm not an expert in plastics or cleaning things, I used first water and paper towels to get this residue off. Mistake; now there are marks in the top left corner of the screen, and the residue didn't even come off. Next, I used rubbing alcohol and paper towels to get the residue off. It took care of the sticker residue, but also RUINED the finish of my monitor. Although I admit some fault, I have NO idea why ViewSonic feels it is necessary to waste money on advertising a product which has ALREADY been sold. Why couldn't they include a brochure? Did they really thing that putting a colorful sticker across the top of the monitor was a good use of money? TERRIBLE IDEA, ViewSonic. Very sharp picture (due to the .258mm pixel pitch), better specs than Mac cinema display monitors. I haven't found any monitors with better specs as a whole. Some are better in some areas, but this has the whole package, it is very well rounded. The "piano black" case is even better looking in person than in the pictures. Cons: One dead pixel. Some ghosting in video games, but not too bad. I can live with the slight ghosting since I'm not as hardcore of a gamer as other people. I use the computer for non-gaming much more than gaming. Other Thoughts: I won't pay $xx to return ship/RMA a monitor for one stupid pixel. It's annoying when you spend this much on a monitor to find a blemish, but I guess I'll have to live with it. Cons: I can be picky and say that I am not a big fan of the glossy black frame...but Im getting use to it now. I wish the stand would allow pivoting left to right. Neither of these kept me from buying the monitor....these items are really small potatoes. Other Thoughts: For the money, this monitor really stands out. The contrast ratio, brightness, and DPI ratings are what you want in a high quality LCD.
