Nice Monitor
Pros: This is my first LCD monitor so I can't really compare it to similar models but I can say I'm reasonably happy with it but not overwhelmed. Be sure to change setting in Effects (widows) to Clear Type from Standard if you have been using a CRT. Also, if you are picky like me you will have to do some tweeking with the OSD controls.
Cons: The manual image adjust OSD controls don't work on my monitor. However, the default settings seem to be ok.
Other Thoughts: For the price, it would probably be pretty hard to beat this monitor and as always Newegg was very prompt with shipping.

Great!
Pros: Excellent monitor, just plug and play and it works! (Using it with a MacBook Pro, DVI connection, native resolution of 1440 x 900). The colors were pretty good right out of the box. Very sharp picture, easy to read characters. Very bright screen. Checked carefully for any dead pixels and found none. Tilts forward and back. Easy set up. Controls on front.
Cons: The colors change more than I like depending on the tilt angle. They are darker if the monitor is tilted back, so after adjusting color, you need to tilt the monitor just right to get correct color. Color doesn't change from side to side, just up and down. The brightness control doesn't dim way down, so even at zero the screen is plenty bright.
Other Thoughts: Even with the cons listed above, I give this monitor 5 stars, because of the excellent price and excellent performance.

Pros: decent response time, don't let the 2ms response time in the desc. fool you, though. That response time is grey-black-grey instead of white-black-white...so less work for the monitor to refresh...thus the quicker response. However, it does 5ms black-white-black...so, it's more than enough for any gaming needs you might have.
Cons: none. Viewsonic has always made and I hope will continue to make above average level monitors for the consumer

Excellent
Pros: I love this monitor. It has great color contrast, the black is black, a most of all no shadowing when gaming. It is bright and beautiful.
Cons: Non yet
Other Thoughts: Speakers are low quality, but my 6 speaker surround makes up for that.

Great monitor
Pros: Beautiful monitor. Great color quality. Nice response time. DVI and VGA inputs a plus.
Cons: Non-adjustable stand makes this monitor higher than my other monitor. Built in speakers are junk, don't even bother.
Other Thoughts: The response time 2ms claim is misleading. 2ms gray-to-gray (typ) - 5ms black-white-black (typ) is what the real response times are. Not a con, this has no real effect on me, but is a bit misleading. Can't beat the $200 price.

Preety good
Pros: very clear and bright images using the dvi connection. The built in speakers are very useful for a cramped desktop and provide pretty good sound. No ghosting or shadowing on anything I have done, but I have been doing just some basic web stuff and editing. I would suggest making connections and running necessary connection wires through the cable management slots on back with the monitor laying face down (on something soft) because as another review mentioned the connections are a bit difficult to get to when the monitor is in upright position. Overall, a very good monitor from a reputable name.
Cons: none other than the price going up ten bucks at newegg.com from the day I was comparing to the next day when I ordered.

Great looking monitor
Pros: Awesome, great resolution, me im really not to picky with my monitors but this is an overall great product it has built in speakers doesnt feel like a 19" cause its pretty wide i would definately by this product unless you are looking for a bigger monitor but this is pretty good i use it for gaming mostly
Cons: The built in speakers werent loud at first but turns out i didnt push the audio cable in all the way and it could be a little bit hard trying to screw in the DVI or VGA cables because they are pointing straight down but its really no problem
Other Thoughts: The speakers are pretty loud but if you want louder i would get a sound card put the screen speaker as front and get a 2.1 speaker system and put as sides and of course the sub woofer its like having a 3.1 if they made em

2nd purchase if that says anything
Pros: responsive (2ms) none/if any ghosting menu features nice piano glossy finish
Cons: It ain't a 22"
Other Thoughts: I bought this one after my wife got one, it's perfect. I had a 19" Viewsonic 1280x1024 it was great but widescreen is definatly the way to go. The speakers are meh, w/e but for a small buisness office it'd be perfect, speakers are the 1/8" jack plug-in for the sound board. Get this monitor if ur going lcd or widescreen, you will not be dissapointed.

very nice monitor
Pros: Excellent picture; great value. Bought two. Very viewable, no substantial light leaks, and no dead pixels.
Cons: Very slight high-pitched noise with no signal -- either powered up or down -- so not the best for a quiet bedroom. Speakers are a joke, of course.

Nice monitor if no pixels get stuck
Pros: The monitor itself is fine. Clear, crisp and fast. It worked great the first day, but on day #2, disaster struck. Read below for more info.
Cons: Powered on the monitor the day after it was received, all excited because I had been using a 17"(more like 15.5") CRT for the past 3 weeks. Shock and horror struck when I saw a little red dot at the bottom middle of the screen. STUCK PIXEL
Tried every method to get rid of it; rubbing the pixel with a damp cloth, eraser head, pen tip with cloth, running both Java and program based stuck pixel removers for hours at a time...nothing worked. This is a widescreen monitor - it excels at movies and games that have widescreen support. When there is an ever-present bright red dot stuck on the screen in a very visible location, it greatly impacts the enjoyability of whatever medium you're viewing. Sure it's only viewable on darker backgrounds, but how many movies and games incorporate darker colors? That's right, every single one of them. Unfortunately, Viewsonic only accepts 3+ stuck pixels as worthy of an RMA. I fear the red dot and I will become good friends over the next few years
Other Thoughts: Got this monitor as an RMA for a Viewsonic VX922 19" that just stopped working after about a year(wouldn't turn on). When I shipped the dead monitor out for RMA, at first they kept telling me they had no parts to repair it, and then that they had no replacements in stock. It took multiple online live chat sessions and a firm stance in order to finally get this "comparable replacement" shipped out. 3 weeks after my dead monitor arrived at their repair center, they finally sent me out a VX1932. My 17" Dell LCD lasted for 7 years, no dead pixels...and I bought it used. No more Viewsonic for me.

Great monitor for the price
Pros: I ordered this to replace an older LG 19" flat panel which put huge strain on my eyes. This monitor was a savior from the LG death portal as it is much easier on my eyes. Went from 8 ms down to 2ms and bumped up refresh rate to 75 htz. I also run a bit lower than max res at 1280 x 800 but only because of personal preference. 1440 x 900 was still very crisp and pristine looking.
Cons: None so far. First widescreen monitor though, so I still have to memorize different widescreen resolutions when tweaking game settings.
Other Thoughts: As always, NewEgg shipped everything on time. Always a pleasure to buy from you guys. This monitor was very well worth the price I paid.

it's okay.. nothing that knocked my socks off
Pros: Decent color and fps, and the price was right. Nice and sturdy and attractive looking as well.
Cons: Mine came w/ two stuck pixels that are only really visiable when the background is black. Bah, who cares about that though.
Other Thoughts: Makes me wonder how this compares to some of the more expensive ($600+) models.

Replaced ViewSonic VX922's
Pros: Got 2 of these to replace 2 VX922's. One of which died after long service. The old VX922 is now dedicated to my NewTek TriCaster Pro...life is tough...
Anyway...the first thing I notice was a BIG boost in clairity over the VX922's, and they were excellent.
ZERO dead pixels out of the boxes.
The color range is HUGE and I'm sure I'm seeing hues I've never seen on any other monitor.
And of course it goes without saying, NewEgg's service was superb.
Cons: No external volume control for the built-in speakers. You have to hunt and peck your way through the menu. That SUCKS!
I guess I'll put a pot in the speaker cord.
The contrast seems to fall off really quick even at a high brightness setting. ...I'll experiment with it some more. maybe it's just me.
Other Thoughts: Another great ViewSonic product through a great retailer.

PERFECT GAMING MONITOR!!!!
Pros: THE BEST GAMING MONITOR PERIOD..... if you are looking for great picture and quality with no ghosting effects in games, this is what you are looking for. and for this price.. ARE THEY CRAZY!!!! I am very satisfied with this monitor. A++++++
Cons: Absolutely none, except for the screen refresh rate is max at 75 Hertz, thats mainly because its not a CRT which would be the only monitor better than this one. BEST LCD IVE SEEN
Other Thoughts: 2-5 ms response time.... you cant beat that seeing as no other manufacturer can. GREAT DEAL!!! IF your looking for a gaming monitor heres your pick.

Did not get my rebate
Pros: OK monitor
Cons: Did not get my reabte payment. I have a agrement with Viewsonic regarding I submit everything (rebate form, bar code, original reciept). They said they only get my rebate form, no bar code and receipt in the letter, and turn me down. Do not trust on their rebate.
Other Thoughts: Lost my rebate payment, Viewsonic is not a very honest comapny.

Good Buy
Pros: Really bright and clear. Good view angle. Fast 2ms response. All my games and multimedia look perfect.
Cons: None except for that when i turn it off there is a beepy noise. It's hard to hear but I'm just concerned if its nothing bad.
Other Thoughts: I love this screen, it's really bright and clear. I was suprised with it because didn't expect it to be that good. This is a better LCD than lots of the espensive ones out there.

Perfect LCD for gaming
Pros: The monitor is great and plays all my games no problems. The 2ms and 5ms keeps up with all my DVD's and its great that its wide screen.
Cons: Have notice some ghosting and blurry on some movies I download and if I look really close I have recently noticed it in games if I turn really fast.
Other Thoughts: My only grip is the minor ghosting caused on some games due to the fact that none of my games support the max resolution.

Beautiful Display
Pros: Beautiful picture. Displays color wonderfully. The monitor's brightness level is great; under certain conditions I can see that it might be necessary to reduce the brightness. Fit and finish is well done. No ghosting in games. No dead/stuck/bright pixels or sub-pixels. ViewSonic has one of the best warranty policies in the industry. Would recommend investigating Viewsonic's warranty and policy regarding dead pixels versus other manufacturers, only found 2 other manufacturers with as good of a warranty as Viewsonic.
Cons: Speakers best suited for an office environment; not music, movies, or games. Didn't buy the monitor for the speakers, so I am not concerned with them. nVidia video card drivers currently have an issue with displaying 1440x900 (this montitor's native resolution). The drivers actually render a resolution of 1440x1050, causing a slide effect of about one inch side-to-side. Previous drivers (and hopefully future drivers) do not experience this issue. The speakers are a non-issue with me, and the drivers are hardly a fault of the display, thus the 5 star rating.
Other Thoughts: This LCD replaced a CRT of a ripe old age of nearly 7 years. Couldn't be happier with the value and quality of this purchase. Would recommend this display to anyone looking for a well-rounded and high-performing widescreen LCD.

Great Monitor
Pros: Monitor is awesome, I don't see ghosting at all you can barely see the outline of things get, bigger, but thats in a game (beta) stage where antialiasing isn't even implemented into the game yet and I can still hardly tell. As for CSS and HL2... this screen is amazing there is a slight white/grayish outline of things but if you really get into games like me you wont notice it unless you look for it.
Cons: When I first pluged this bad boy in it looked as though they had invisible white and off white/gray vertical lines where as if i had steam opened or anything opened on my desktop if it had words on it and i moved it left to right or right to left, they would switch from white to gray colors (the letters of the words themselves) After i had updated my video drivers... BAM flawless best color iv seen (I notice things with this monitor that i had no clue where there with my CRT), no visible lines at all on desktop or anywhere else after the driver update from Nvidia.
Other Thoughts: Make sure you realize this inst a TRUE 2m Delay monitor -
Response Time 2ms gray-to-gray (typ) 5ms black-white-black (typ)
Other than that honestly i can hardly tell, oh I would also suggest buying a way better DVI cable this one is very skinny and the one that came with it doesn't seem like it will last that long... (if you have animals that mess with your wires or if you kick wires a lot like me) if you want to see the ghosting drop me an e-mail and ill send you a SS of it so you can see it yourself before you buy. (e-mail is nickname)
