very good value
Pros: bright, bright,m awsome pic quality even with VGA. upgrading to DVI tomorrow. very low power ussage compared to CRT.
Cons: no speakers, however thats not really a con czu most speakers that come monitors suck.
none adjustable base be hey you get what u pay for and in most cases that not a problem at all
Other Thoughts: LOOK NO MORE!!! JUST BUY THIS ONE!!! i spent the many hours researching all brands and models and came down to this viewsonic model. in my opinion this is the best deal for the money!!!!!!!!

Great LCD
Pros: No stuck or dead pixels, color is great and the stand is very stable on my desk. Obviously you get a 1680x1050 resolution for gaming and natively at desktop, but with a driver update i did it allowed 1920x1080 at desktop. The resolution is actually scaled down but it still allows much more desktop space than 1680x1050 which is nice as it came free with the driver :). I notice no ghosting at all.
Cons: only con and it's not the monitor, but the package as it didn't come with a DVI cable, but those can be picked up on here for 10 bucks and they work fine, that's what i did
Other Thoughts: Though the driver allowed 1920x1080 to be displayed at desktop, i found fonts and words weren't as clear or sharp compared to when at 1680x1050. So i went into nvidia control panel and started testing custom resolutions, and the first one i made was 1800x1200, and it looks great and just as sharp as 1680x1050, so 1800x1200 is what i use. NOTE: in game 1680x1050 is still the max resolution displayed, only through the driver update was i allowed higher resolutions and it's only at desktop.

Excellent Monitor!
Pros: Wonderfull monitor. Has a large brilliant screen with DVI ports. Good sturdy base. Adjusts angle, but not height. I had to replace an old 19" CRT monitor to my dismay, but after reading lots of reviews I made this one my final choice. Monitor arrived in perfect condition with no dead pixels or problems. DVI port is being used which makes for a very clear & colorful picture. Even without the HD hookup this provides a clean look. A big improvement from my old CRT which took a lot of energy to run and took up a lot of desk space. This is energy star efficient and desk space friendly. Installs right out of the box and software loading was optional for me. Rebates came to me within 3 months of sumbitting. Overall a good quality monitor for the price!
Cons: Doesn't have a height adjustment, but I knew this when ordering. Would also be nice if came with a DVI cable.

Great Value for Typical Home Use
Pros: Great for normal home use (I am not a gamer nor do I watch lots of video on my PC). Three-bears analogy really applies here - this monitor is not too big, not too small, just right! Excellent clarity, vivid colors, easy setup and on-screen adjustments. Tremendous price/value if you buy when one of the $30 ViewSonic rebates are in effect!
Cons: No DVI cable - these days you should either provide both DVI & VGA cables or none at all...
Other Thoughts: Some other reviewers have grumped about the rebate process - get a life! I find it very easy to use the Viewsonic site (www.viewsonic.com/erebate) to preregister your rebate, print a form and then mail in the material needed. Only Staples EasyRebate is simpler...

Great Monitor with DVI
Pros: This is a nice, inexpensive monitor. It has a setting for sRGB colorspace which I think provides pretty vivid and realistic color. I didn't like the monitor at all running it through a D-SUB (aka "analog" or "VGA") cable, because at such a high native resolution text is blurry. Switched over to DVI ("digital") and now text & images are crisp and stunning! The anti reflective coating is also pretty good. Also, easy to switch between DVI and D-SUB with a single button on the front, so its easy to run two computers through this monitor w/o the need for a KVM. And most importantly, its BIG and HIGH RESOLUTION, which is great. Front bezel is small, I like the sliver styling at the bottom.
Cons: The black level is decent but not outstanding. Colors fade towards the corners, but that is to be expected for such a large area. Its not noticeable unless you're really looking out for it. The stand isn't adjustable, but its unobtrusive.
Other Thoughts: Be wary of people who complain about blurry text with this monitor - they are probably not using a digital connection (DVI). Any monitor at this high of a resolution will appear blurry if using an analog connection, because the limited bandwidth of the analog cable cannot reproduce the high spatial frequencies necessary to support a crisp image. Read up on the 'point spread function' if you're interested in knowing more...

Amazing
Pros: Very large. I'm using my 19" Dell Widescreen as a secondary and this just dwarfs it! Call of Duty 5 looks absolutely beautiful on it.
Cons: Can be a bit bright, especially on web pages with a white background (which is most sites). So I turned it down immediately in fear for my eyes.
Other Thoughts: Great price, great product, great company, great quality.

Overall it is good
Pros: *cheap *good quality *better than DELL one
Note: I heard the price will drop again next quarter. If you want get much cheaper, then wait for another 2 months.
Cons: The default setting is bad. You need spend time to customize the RGB color. otherwise it is way too white, and contrast is not right.

Acceptable as a second monitor
Pros: Inexpensive, it works with no *problems*
Cons: Color isn't very good. Bad ghosting/blurry text. I have this screen next to a bunch of iMacs (glossy and matte screens) and after you looking at those screens and you look at the VA2226W, you really see how poor the picture is. That being said, I have this hooked up as a 2nd monitor, it and does that job nicely. I WOULDN'T use this as a main monitor, it would hurt my eyes.
Other Thoughts: Not a bad buy if you're going to use it to as a 2nd monitor, or as a monitor that will be used from a distance (for watching movies, games). I also use this monitor for my PS3 (HDMI -> DVI) and while its very soft, it works.

Awesome...mostly
Pros: Big, bright, no dead pixels, resolution, response time, etc.
Cons: Slight ghosting on some text, trying to solve that problem. When I say slight it really is barely noticeable unless you're looking for it. Might be an interference problem...hopefully changing to a DVI cable will eliminate it.
Other Thoughts: I didn't buy it here. Even with the problems I'm having I'd recommend it. It seems like I'm the only one with any ghosting.

Pros: big, bright, no dead pixels, great picture
Cons: as mentioned previously no DVI cable. when you order a DVI cable make sure to get DVI-D, not a DVI-I cable. also mentioned is the lack of height adjustment but i knew that before it arrived
Other Thoughts: one reviewer listed his monitor not turning back on as a con...i had the same problem but it turned out to be an ATI driver problem. it works fine on an 8800ultra and now the second one i bought is now working fine on an onboard radeon HD 3200 after driver issues

The good, The bad, and the Pretty
Pros: Excellent picture clarity, vivid colors, no hassle setup, great native resolution, contrast is good, great response time, solidly built.
Cons: Base is a bit fragile feeling. If I turn off the monitor and leave the computer on, when I turn the monitor back on it will go into standby and dhow a no signal message. You have to reboot the PC with the power button to get it to kick back in. Viewsonic's support on this issue and a few others is horrible.
Other Thoughts: All in all a good monitor, especially at the price. The issue with it not coming back up after being turned off is specific to the monitor. Other monitors have no such issue on the same system. I had RMAd another one of these monitors for dead pixels and that one had the same standby issue. Viewsonic support is useless for the most part. Their solution for ANY problem seems to RMA and hope the replacement works. A great value technically, but pray nothing goes wrong that requires their support dept.

Pros: Jumped from 19" Samsung CRT to this baby, I got a lot more space to work with. I should have bought two. :)
I did a little bit research and walk the stores to test drive a few monitors including HP, Acer, Envision, Chimei, etc. They are all very similar. But ViewSonic va2226w, this model, is highly appraised by reviewers, experts and users. So I decided to give it a shot and I am VERY pleased.
Setup without any problem. Connected D-Sub (VGA) with Analog to DVI.
No dead pixel. No stuck pixel. Period. The picture looks great on this LCD. And text readability is also wonderful.
For Windows users, it takes a little bit of tweaking with Windows's ClearType. Google 'Clear Type' and you will find the M$ tool to setup / tweak Clear Type via Internet Explorer.
Extremely Highly recommended!!
Cons: Wish ViewSonic includes a DVI cable. Will try it later when having more budget & time. :) I read that it makes big difference using DVI. But I also read that with newer LCDs, it does not matter much. I will have to see it for myself. Nothing else. :)
Other Thoughts: I am extremely happy with this new monitor. My eyes do not hurt as much. Although it take a little bit tweaking to setup and a little bit time to get used to. My old smaller Samsung 19" CRT consumes 100 watts and this larger LCD only uses 38 watts. Unbelievable!! Very energy efficient.
Definitely Recommended.

Excellent!!
Pros: Sharp, crisp, clean picture. Definitely a good buy for the price. Huge widescreen looks GREAT!!
Cons: Does not come with DVI cable, only VGA. Base seems a little flimsy, but it is not a big deal.
Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a 19' NEC Diamondtron, which I must say I was sad to see it go, because the picture was incredible. The viewsonic was great choice. Looks better than my NEC ever did. I play games on a constant and they look great on the native resolution 1680x1050. Widescreen makes a huge difference when gaming. Overall this upgrade was a smart one!

Top drawer!
Pros: Crisp color and text. No dead pixels. Great monitor for the price ($229 at the time I got it). I would highly recommend this monitor.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Bought it because it didn't have any additional features such as iPod dock or speakers. From my past experience, bundled features either suck or fail and then you paid $50-$100 more than your monitor is worth. How many people reading this have a dvd/vcr combo where one of the two doesn't work? Catch my drift.

Excellent But
Pros: No dead pixles. Very bright but adjustable. Clear and sharp. good looking. Lots of screen adjustments.
Cons: My older PC with an older slower processor is not a good candidate for a powerful new AGP video card or this new high definition monitor. I crash often usually upon start up due to video card driver acceleration. Not the fault of the monitor really. The highest resolution setting set at 1680x1050 is the only resolution that looks good. Cannot use lower settings with the card that I have or it looks terrible.
Other Thoughts: I recommend newer more powerful computers then what I have to operate this monitor yet this monitor is a good one. You need to play with the settings. I had to enlarge the fonts because print is very small at first. Use Vtune which comes with the driver card.

Pros: Wow, great color and very user friendly. Performs excellent running cod 4, enemy territory online at 5ms is more than adequate performance. Looks very impressive style wise and the screen is large, but easy on the eyes. This is a great all around monitor for price and performance.
Cons: The stand could be a little more stable. A dvi cable for those who have dual dvi input video cards.
Other Thoughts: Newegg had this monitor to me immediately. Order it monday and newegg had it processed, shipped and delivered to me by tuesday evening. For those gamers skeptical about gaming with lcd's this one is definitly the one to consider.

AWESOME SO FAR!!!
Pros: Great resolution 1680x1050 native 2000:1 contrast ratio (typ) 21.6" viewable widescreen Attractive, slim black and gray bezel which really showcases the huge size of this display Tremendous brightness, may need to dial it down. But thats not a bad thing, just user preference Very little bleeding top and bottom only on black screens, this fades away within a few seconds so its not really noticeable Makes my games (COD4, CS:S, Portal) look incredible.
Cons: None so far!
Other Thoughts: I was previously using a Viewsonic 19" Graphics Series CRT which was an awesome monitor, but it was huge. Now I have so much more space. Great for multi-tasking. Make sure you get a DVI cable (not included). Makes a huge difference...Great deal w/ rebate. GET THIS MONITOR!!! You won't regret it.

nice for price
Pros: - great image quality - great price - massive screen real-estate
Cons: - horrible stand (junky plastic thing) - image brightness degrades at angles (typical) - terrible issue with getting dvi to work... monitor will not recognize dvi signal at first. You must: "plug both your VGA and DVI in at the same time and restart your computer. Then you turn it off. Then you unplug your VGA and the DVI should be working fine. "
Other Thoughts: i bought two of these. they are almost so big you only need one if your woking wiht graphic design type programs. (Especially with cs3 docks that you can move to a second screen)

Great Monitor
Pros: Great looking monitor with good clear picture. It works perfectly at its native resolution, but also looks good at lower resolutions, which many monitors do not.
Cons: I have only had it for a week, so I can't say anything about its longevity.
Other Thoughts: Neweggs shipping and service was awesome as usual

Excellent performance for the price
Pros: Very crisp lines, vibrant colors, and excellent contrast, even at lower, non-native resolutions (I installed this monitor in a garage, and charts/diagrams shown at 800x600 are clearly visible from several feet away). On-screen controls are very intuitive and simple to use.
Cons: Perhaps the odd size (21.6 vs. 22 inches), but I can't say that it really bothers me, especially at this price.
Other Thoughts: Removing the base (for use of a wall mount) can be a bit daunting - it feels as if you are going to break it.
Whoever rated this monitor at 2 stars because they don't know that an ancient video card won't support modern resolutions doesn't know what they are talking about - their problems lie entirely with lack of knowledge, NOT the monitor.

Pros: Colorful, vibrant picture quality. Easy to use controls. Solid base that doesn't wobble. Very nicely priced. Watching movies, surfing the web, and playing games all look wonderful.
Cons: No DVI cable. Order one from Newegg at the same time you get the monitor. It makes a huge difference.
Other Thoughts: Yes, it's bright at first, but just turn it down and it's fine. I ordered two of these, and neither had any problems nor dead pixels. I had no problems loading the drivers from either cd.

Have new video card
Pros: Big screen, Viewsonic quality (I hope-too soon to tell).
Cons: Could not tell difference in picture quality from CRT or between using analog and digital connection. At two resolutions I could not get a full screen, only 2/3 screen. Could not tell difference when using sharpness control. Called VS tech support- said return monitor to Newegg. Had same problem with replacement- sent back for 2nd replacement. Same problem with 3rd unit. Gave to wife, same problem on her computer. Installed a new AGP video card. Solved problem with full frame at all resolutions.
Other Thoughts: Make sure you have new video card.

Great First Time LCD!
Pros: Sharp. Clear. Bright and Vibrant colors. Easy to use control panel. Control panel isn't in your face and your full attention is on the screen.
Cons: VGA cable only included in packaging. DVI is needed for best picture while gaming.
Other Thoughts: I've had this monitor for a few days now and I have to say I'm quite impressed. I did a lot of searching around for several week before choosing this one and I'm not disappointed. Coming from a 17" CRT, the color and vibrance of this monitor is exceelent. It's also really big which works great for gaming. I honestly see my games in a new light and MUCH better graphics than on the old CRT.
The DVI cable was necesary though for gaming, as the VGA alone you do get a little bit of ghosting, but none to be seen while using the DVI. Response time is excellent.
I had to turn down the brightness to 45%. It starts out @ 100% and even now at 45% it's still brighter than any CRT I use.
Well worth it and a great first timer monitor. It's big and will bring a whole new life to your applications and games.

Great so far
Pros: Very clear picture, exceptional brightness. Control buttons are much more accessible than the Viewsonic 19" LCD this was replacing.
Cons: Included a VGA cable rather than DVI. The driver install off the CD failed and had to be done via download from Viewsonic's website. Was almost TOO bright, had to be turned down about 15% to be comfortable.
Other Thoughts: Wish I could have afforded a bigger screen, no regrets at all about this purchase though.

Good Deal
Pros: Nice monitor for the $$. Can always count on NewEgg for good values. Sets up quickly out of the box.
Cons: The documentation was not as solid as it should be. Having converted from a CRT, I was having problems wiht fuzzy fonts. After much trial & error and internet searchs, finally found out what was needed to get this to work properly. For the clearest viewing, ALWAYS run at the NATIVE resolution. (1680x1050). MAKE SURE YOUR video card can support this!!! Windows also provides a hidden tool in XP SP1 and above. It's called "Clear Type" fonts and its burried in the display properties. Why isn't stuff like this in the manual????
Other Thoughts: At work we have some Pro-Viewsonic monitors. They are slightly better and crisper, however the difference is not justified for home. This is a great buy with the Rebate!!!

Great monitor
Pros: As big as I need it to be...looks amazing when gaming (which is what i do mostly) and photoshopping and stuff like that..it's crystal clear...
Cons: watch out...if you plan on watching a movie from far away with this thing you might not even be able to see it...the only con for me though...its a great monitor
Other Thoughts: 21.6 is kind of a weird measurement..why not just make it 22 inches? oh well...

Cons: Didn't come with a DVI cable.

So that's what it's like
Pros: Big, flat, and ( obviously) space saving "got to have it" item
Cons: New egg took FOREVER to honor the 30 dollar rebate, and I had to call them no less than 3 times. They first said(in a letter) that I did not purchase it within the correct time( wrong) . Then they said they would honer , and then never processed the order. On it went, and I recieved it after waiting about 3 months.
Other Thoughts: Come on , Newegg ! Honor your rebates!

Beautiful Monitor
Pros: Huge, great value, excellent picture quality, easy to setup and use. No pixel issues or any other problems that mattered.
Cons: Included setup CD would not run correctly on Vista. Makes a mockery of on-board graphics chip from new computer so I have a nice video card on the way from New Egg.
Other Thoughts: I have Viewsonic monitors at home (2) and at work (I work with graphics all day). No other monitor brand has been so reliable and performed so well. And the price was definitely right!

Great Momitor - For the Bucks
Pros: Great picture, excellent color, with very good edge-to-edge brightness; sharp image at 1280x800 on an nVidia 7900GTO video card.
Cons: Great, for games that support the widescreen formats. Otherwise, older games will look poor on this format. If you like to play older games consider a conventional square format, or search for hacks that may be available in widescreen resolutions for older games. Also, a height adjustment would have been a nice addition.
Other Thoughts: Received this monitor in just two days. NewEgg is all there is.

Great Value
Pros: Clear, Reasonably Accurate Color (for a TN panel), good price (even better with a rebate),
reasonably attractive case bezel, unobtrusive buttons, not overly bright power indicator LED, fast
5 ms response seems accurately rated, no dead or stuck pixels, only very little amount of light
bleed-through evenly around all edges. Viewsonic 3 yr warranty and 0 (1 dead) pixel exchange.
Cons: No height adjustment, no DVI cable included, needs settings adjusted from defaults,
included D-Sub Analog cable is poor (see "Other Thoughts"), limited viewing angle due to TN
panel (viewing angle seems even shallower than my virtually same height 19" TN panel but looks
better at a straight 90' angle.).
Other Thoughts: Another reviewer claimed an FX5700 could barely make this resolution, when in
fact the past 4+ generations of midrange cards can easily do it (if the driver supports it or making
custom resolutions). FX5700 supports 2048 x 1536 (even an old Geforce 1/256 does) which is
78% more pixels than this! The included analog cable for this monitor is abnormally thin, cheap.
It can't do the native resolution without ghosting. I retested the cable on a 1280x 19" LCD and
still ghosting. Tried a different cable and no ghosting on either monitor. Plan on buying a good
cable for analog if you must use analog, but DVI does look better. In the value price segment, this has better output than some of the lower priced alternatives so I call it a good value and would buy again.

Great Monitor
Pros: Beautiful monitor! Bright and clear and huge. Good scaling at nonnative resolutions. Value price! HDCP compliant (I am pretty sure).
Cons: Not a single con.
Other Thoughts: It really is big. Make sure you have enough desktop space to hold it.

Great monitor for Macbook
Pros: Big screen. Black bezel is nice as this is optimal for viewing. Great resolution. newegg shipping delivered it within a day! which is amazing. Cable took a bit longer. Price is amazing (pre Christmas ~230)
Cons: its a bit hard to manually calibrate properly (or at least to my liking) but it looks great regardless. On screen controls feel limited but work.
Other Thoughts: You need a DVI cable. I'm using this with my generation 1 Macbook and no problems. Switch your menu bar to this monitor (drag the menu bar in the arrangements portion of the display preference pane. not intuitive) Can't notice difference between SVGA and DVI but I haven't had the DVi cable long.

Superb!
Pros: Bright & Sharp. This is my first LCD monitor. I just got rid of my old 17" CRT. Boy! what a difference! With a gain of 5"+ screen size, I also saved lots of desk space. Wide screen is really good. Especially when browsing the net. You can see the entire web page w/o scrolling. Absolutely satisfied!
Cons: No DVI Cable
Other Thoughts: Best Service from Newegg. Delivered the next day.

Just Buy it!
Pros: Very Bright looks fantastic with a DVI-D cable. The screen size is the same height as and wider than my 21inch crt. I found no ghosting while gaming.
Cons: No DVI cable (order the right one)
Other Thoughts: I found that I can use both the DVI and the vga ports and switch between them via the OSD. I even have a KVM hooked up to the VGA. I wanted the dvi cable for my gaming rig and have my other machines hooked to the VGA throgh the KVM. This is not recommended by Viewsonic and can be a bit tricky but it is better than my old set up of a 21 inch and a 19 inch CRT!

Pros: Nice controls set. Super realestate Nice size for desktop. Rebate makes it top value.
Cons: This monitor has a blem on the case frame. No cables for DVI.
Other Thoughts: Using Chaintech Fx5700. Barely makes top resolution(not the fault of monitor)

Nice for the price
Pros: Big and Pretty. No dead or stuck pixels.
Cons: Higher resolution would be nice.
Other Thoughts: Great picture but I definatly recommend using a DVI cable - I had shadowing with the VGA cable, went out and bought A DVI cable and now its great!

Great Monitor, Great Deal!
Pros: Looks great so far! Minimal fuss getting started. Easy to assemble. Very vibrant! Couldn't match some of the hues to my iMac, but it tends to look better! :) - Price was good.
Cons: Nit-picky stuff: No adjustable height, VGA Cable only in box, Menu GUI navigating not intuitive(but works), Mail-in Rebate :(

Very nice
Pros: Very crisp image. High brightness (adjustable). No dead pixels on mine.
Cons: Takes a few seconds to wake up, not that big of a deal. Highly recommend running at the native resolution of 1680 X 1050. So it is a good idea to make sure you have a graphics adapter that supports it.
Other Thoughts: I will buy a second one of these because of the good cost vs. quality ratio.

Adequate for the price
Pros: No image quality issues at all, perfectly fine for gaming.
Cons: Fair amount of bleeding along bottom and top of screen on black screens, and the viewing angle isn't very large, so it's not great for watching a movie from very far unless you plan on sitting perfectly still.
Other Thoughts: Very good value. I am certainly satisfied. The extra desktop space is amazing for photoshop, etc.

Beautiful monitor
Pros: This monitor is by far the best upgrade to my computer I have done so far, even my currently overclocked 3.0 ghz dual core amd64x2 doesn't come close to the impressiveness that this monitor holds.
Cons: The only real con is that the brightness starts off a little high at 100 as the default, but this took about 10 seconds to change, I dropped it down to about 73 and the picture was perfect.
Other Thoughts: I suggest having a good graphics card and a dvi cable, that always makes the different. Alone this monitor is good, with a dvi cable it is great, and with a 512mb video card, its AMAZING. You can get a dvi cable on Newegg for around 10$.

Great monitor - great price!
Pros: This monitor is a great upgrade from my 19" CRT! Wide, bright, and killer resolution at 1680X1050. Simple setup - unbox, plug in cable, run CD.
Cons: No DVI cable included. Stand doesn't adjust for height, but not many do out of the box.
Other Thoughts: Make sure you order a DVI cable!

An astonishingly beautiful monitor at a very reasonable price
Pros: Beautiful resolution, snap to install, no dead pixtals (DVI cables) after 5 days burn-in. Comparable to monitors I have at work at twice the price. Highly recommend - a steal at this price! Newegg / UPS = 2-day delievery!
Cons: None

BIG and BRIGHT
Pros: BRIGHT. Power efficient. Great contrast. Good color balance. BRIGHT. Oh my eyes!
Cons: BRIGHT! Can't use sRGB because my eyes will bleed viewing it in a dark room.
Other Thoughts: Shipped from the egg in only two days. Out of the box, connected to a 8800, the display is cranked up to 100% brightness. Using NVidia's display optimizer, I set the brightness down to 50%. Normal vision is returning....

Great price for performance
Pros: Great image at native resolution. No ghosting when playing Doom 3 on high settings (8600GT card). Sharp looking with black frame and silver lower border. Tilt easily adjustable. Very pleased with monitor, rebate, and NewEgg service.
Cons: No DVI cable - only VGA. Stand doesn't raise/lower - no big deal.
Other Thoughts: Considered the Samsung 226BW 22" but didn't want to concern myself with where the panel was made and the possible effect on performance.

ViewSonic VA2226W
Pros: Simple physical setup. Easy-to-use OSD of display settings. Quite stabile enough stand (I hate whiners). Great colors.
Cons: Not a con, but your graphics card/adapter better have a 1280 X 800 resolution (1.6:1 = 8:5 aspect ratio) option to best match the common 1024 X 768 resolution used for most 4:3 aspect ratio screens. This setting gives slightly bigger displayed features and keeps circular objects looking circular. Gamers should use denser 8:5 ratio settings.
Other Thoughts: I'm really happy putting the extra Desktop space to use. The display quality is almost as nice as my fantastic 17 inch 4:3 Samsung 740N.
No LCD display is good enough for accurate color work.

Wow, what a great LCD.
Pros: Moving from a CRT to LCD is already quite a decision to make. I know that CRTs are good for graphics apps which I use for my site 3DCRAVING.COM . I decided to purchase this new ViewSonic 22" Wide screen and give it a try: Just unbelievable! The contrast ratio dynamic 2000:1 make my black background true black, which is also great for games. Going from a 17" CRT to a 22" LCD was a great move from my part. This weekend I opened all my 3D apps and I am getting a lot more space area to work with when I am at 1680x1050. And I can see the pixels even better now.
Cons: It's too bad now that I got to get a new desk to honor my new ViewSonic 22" Wide screen.
Other Thoughts: With the amount of wide screen for sale now online! Newegg.com has given me the best price online for this 22" Wide screen and it seems to be a great product. 10 rebate, 30 mail rebate, free shipping and 3 years warranty is reassuring.

Viewsonic VA2226w Review
Pros: Inexpensive big screen, color, overall quality
Cons: DVI cable is not included
Other Thoughts: I am a photographer and a programmer and I look at the screen more than 12 hours a day. Thus, a good display to me is very important. Before I got this monitor in, I was using Viewsonic VA702b and Sony SDM-S74 monitors on my computer (dual). Since I would like to save space, energy, and the most importantly, have more screen space, I found this great display that fits my needs. This is a great screen with good picture quality and so far, I am very satisfied with it.

Pros: I received the monitor in 3 days and it works great. I am glad I made the upgade to wide screen lcd. Excellent monitor for the money.
Cons: No problems at all. Very happy with the purchase.

Great Bargain
Pros: Beautiful picture, awesome price, and I got it in a day. Thanks NEWEGG
Cons: It's too big, had to move my chair back from my desk ;). Some older games dont support native resolution of 1680x1050.

Clear, bright, simple
Pros: Bright picture, deep blacks. Has standard wall mounting holes. ViewSonic quality. Featherweight package; sturdy but not heavy.
Cons: No height adjustment with stock stand. No swivel base either. No DVI cable included (minor gripe).
Other Thoughts: Controls based in lower center and nice blue LED light for power button is not obtrusive to viewing.

great monitor
Pros: Crystal clear, excellent contrast and brightness. A lot of viewing area for not a lot of cash. Viewsonic is a solid brand. In terms of picture quality, easily matches my friend's Viewsonic Graphic series monitor.
Cons: No height adjustment, but this feature is only found on monitors $50+ more than this one. Of course, blacks are not as solid as they are on CRTs, but that is expected with any LCD.
Other Thoughts: Great promo deal, fast shipping, Newegg rocks!
