Keep shoppin'
Pros: Pros: fairly inexpensive, at least at the time I bought it.
Cons: Already has one very bright/light blue colored stuck pixel which is highly annoying. Shows a large amount of light around all 4 edges of the screen and leaves black colors as more of a charcoal grey, generally. All colors are brighter than normal, even after some adjustment. Speakers are beyond useless.
Other Thoughts: In general, I'm not too happy with this monitor and will be replacing it very soon. I considered Viewsonic quality to be pretty high across the board before I used this monitor for 4 months. Their CRTs were/are great. I also can't believe Newegg shipped me this in the box the monitor comes in. That's seriously inadequate protection for interstate shipping.

No issues at all
Pros: Great quality for the price. Super cheap!
Cons: It did have one dead pixel when I bought it (it's still there), but it's not in the center and I've learned to live with it. It's really not that noticeable.
Other Thoughts: I've had this monitor for more than a year now and it is still working great.

Great monitor, nice price
Pros: I checked out a few LCD's online before deciding on this monitor. Graphics and text are very crisp and clear (I'm using the DVI inputs on both monitors that I bought). The monitor is very bright, so bright that i usually have the brightness turned down to 30-40%.
Cons: I wish the monitors didn't have the built in speakers, they are kind of a waste. If you're using multiple video inputs (analog and DVI), the monitor will auto-select the source which can be annoying. I also wish the monitor had adjustable height.
Other Thoughts: The few cons I have listed are very small and insignificant. For the $250/ea I paid for two of these monitors 6 months ago, I really got my money's worth. I'm actually looking to buy a third soon.

good basic display
Pros: Good basic display at a good price.
Cons: As others said, speakers are terrible.
Other Thoughts: Definitely not a high-end display, but good for everyday typical use.

No more glasses
Pros: I can finally work on my computer without my glasses. I changed out my 15" monitor with this 19" flat screen. It fit in less space than the monitor. I can finally close my deck top. No more scrooling the page back and forth to read things. Just fantastic. Super clear image.
Cons: None

Pros: Outstanding picture quality, great for gaming, watching movies and viewing pictures. Great price too.
Cons: I don't like the speakers on the bottom of the monitor.
Other Thoughts: Easy to set up. I haven't had any problems with it.

Not good for text viewing
Pros: Bright and vivid color. The price is also very reasonable.
Cons: Text display is my biggest complaint on this monitor. Texts with vertical lines like I, T, L, have shadow. I had to go through 3 units with Neweggs and the last unit is only ok. The first 2 units were completely unacceptable, even with DVI cable. This is the 4th LCD monitors I have (a MAG, a DELL, a Sceptre) and all previous LCD had no problem displaying crispy texts, except this Viewsonic unit. The exchange only policy from Newegg prevent me from switching to a different model. Anyone buying this model is taking a big chance.

serious mfg driver issue windows pro sp2
Pros: none so far
Cons: WARNING!!!!!! Installation setup nightmare !!!! Viewsonic Driver CD shipped with 912b model is missing important .inf and .ins files for XP\XP pro installation. it will put display setting in Windows XP.After install and reboot monitor stays black no image, the driver and Viewsonic Wizard set the Windows XP display properties at such a low resolution it is impossible to change even booting up in Safe Mode \VGA mode to a higher resolution Windows will give a message that the driver is for an older operating system when a person attempts to make the change in via display properties.
Other Thoughts: one more driver download attempt from Viewsonic and re-install if this doesnt work this product is going back to the vendor for refund

Pros: Good resolution, provides all cables, removable back plate allows easy access to the ports, built-in speakers, no dead pixels.
Cons: Speakers are a little weak sounding (but is to be expected from built-ins).
Other Thoughts: Great monitor, especially for the price. Newegg has performed wonderfully yet again.

Great Monitor!
Pros: This LCD has a beautiful picture. I use it as a second monitor with my IBM ThinkPad to extend my desktop (for web design and photo editing) and it puts my laptop's screen to shame in both brightness and picture quality. I see no dead or stuck pixels so far. I love the size of the screen. It really is beautiful. I am not a gamer so I cannot comment there.
Cons: I am happy with the 1280x1024 resolution but sometimes it might be nice to have a larger resolution which this does not support.

Good Monitor for the price
Pros: Nice look. Light weight. Easy to transport. Bright and clear screen. Very good viewing angle for the price.
Cons: 1 dead pixel and 1 stuck pixel. Slight backlight bleed...though hard to notice unless you're looking for it.
Other Thoughts: Make sure you have a good program to help adjust color. While playing FFXI before adjusting it i was almost unable to see. Decent monitor for the price though. The dead pixel is up towards the top of the screen so you don't always see it but it's bright red and sometimes annoying. The stuck pixel doesn't always appear. But when it does it's usually a light green and very hard to notice unless you're looking for it.

Mainly Satisfied
Pros: Huge screen, built in speakers save valuable desk space, auto adjustment feature is nice.
Cons: ONE STUCK PIXEL! The one thing in the world that my OCD can't overcome.
Other Thoughts: I have always recommended this brand of monitor, bought dozens for customers. Never a dead or stuck pixel, until now. I will have to start shopping for another brand as reliable and inexpensive (yeah, right).

Great Monitor
Pros: Monitor plugged in and installed easy. Picture was very crisp after I installed the driver. Games look nice. Speakers don't even look like they're there. And to clear my biggest worry, no dead pixels.
Cons: Driver on disc was missing a file, used Viewsonic's website to install it.
Other Thoughts: First LCD I've bought, satisfied with the purchase. Thanks Newegg.

It's ok
Pros: Light and huge, bigger picture then my old 19" crt. No ghosting, no dead pixles. Came with DVI cable, which is nice.
Cons: Watching movies on this is bad, picture looks grainy. Default setting is a tad on the dark side, had to readjust it.
Other Thoughts: Since this is my first LCD, really didn't know what to expect. WoW looks prettier[more colorful] if I can say, from my old CRT.

ViewSonic Customer Service
Pros: Purchased 10 of these LCD's, nothing wrong with 9 of them.
Cons: 1 that went bad the screen just goes blank at random times and will not come back on.
Other Thoughts: Product's Warranty is handled through View Sonic. It's been nothing but trouble trying to get a replacement. If it's not one thing it's another. Terrible!

Sharp Colors, extreamly poor black display
Pros: Nice sharp display. Comes with DVI cables. Quick refresh rate. No ghosting in games
Cons: Poor blacks, as well as a blue line of pixels running down the screen when displaying black. It looks like the row of pixels cannot go to black but when anything else is displayed, no line.
Other Thoughts: Not sure if the extreamly poor black quality is normal or if i got a bad monitor. Half Life 2 in dark areas is really poor. Keep the CRT around for those type of games. Otherwise, a nice sharp bright monitor for price.

Mostly A Good Deal
Pros: Reasonable price for the performance. Most things look good and games play pretty much ok for this type of display.
Cons: It is the pixel thing. One stuck red pixel that is intermittent. I have to give it a tap every now and then to get it to go away. My opinion is that zero tolerance should be the rule. If a company can't produce a defect free item for sale they should not sell it. Viewsonic feels it is OK to sell a unit with defects as long as there are no to many. I will not buy their displays again.

Buy it YESTERDAY!
Pros: Fantastic refresh rate. Sharp as all get out! No dead pixels. (and I bought 5 of these beauties!) Great bang for the buck. No ghosting in Far Cry, Doom3, Q4, HL2, BF2, or COD2.
Cons: Black bezel instead of brushed Stainless steel... LOL!!!! Not really a con.
Other Thoughts: Wish this was available when I was in college and living in a dorm while space was at a premium. Great Buy.

Cons: none

product = good, Newegg's shipping method = bad
Pros: Arrived with no dead pixels, very bright display with vibrant colors, no ghosting in the FPS games that I play (UT2k4, BF2, FEAR Combat, etc.)
Cons: I cannot believe that Newegg shipped this in the original box that the monitor came in -- no additional protection at all and the box wasn't even taped closed!! And, of course, the box itself was half destroyed before it reached me, the monitor was even visible through a huge tear in the bottom of the box! Totally unacceptable. I cannot believe that this monitor actually powers on after its arduous journey! As for the monitor itself, the only real con for me is the 500:1 contrast ratio, 700:1 looks much better but for the price, this is not much of a complaint.
Other Thoughts: I rate this product a 4, but Newegg rates about a 2.5 for their utterly careless and nonsensical shipping method. The only reason they don't get a 1 from me is because this is a decent monitor, and it's right at about $xxx at the moment, so it's a great deal.

Excellent Monitor
Pros: Excellent Monitor. Never had problems with it. No dead pixels, great picture, no ghosting.
Cons: This monitor is great for everyday office use and some gaming. For the more hard core gamers out there, you might want to spend little extra and get one with a better response time.
Other Thoughts: Do not listen to people who say that have ghosting and asking if we are looking at the same screen. Ghosting happens through inteference on the cable. This can be caused by surrounding cables that run power to other units, generators, transformers, etc. To get rid of it if you do have it is to use shielded cable. This can reduce it a lot or even eliminate it completely.

Love it...
Pros: Rich vibrant colors, not too bright, decent monitor menu options, and no ghosting... what else could you ask for in a monitor? And I only have an NVidia 6200 AGP connected to this baby... I am using the digital input, though.
Cons: I have no cons whatsoever so far. Unless this monitor konks out on me or something, it's all good.
Other Thoughts: I've bought many-a-monitor in my day, from CRT's to LCD's. And this lcd is definitely one of the best. I was a little worried at first because it only has a 500:1 contrast ratio, but boy was I surprised to find how rich the colors are on this monitor. Replaced a 19" Widescreen AOC lcd monitor with this one and ViewSonic blew AOC away. And just think... I would've never tried Viewsonic had I not gotten a great deal on it from my local retail store. Now I know why they're more expensive than other monitors. I also own a Polyview 19" lcd with 800:1 contrast ratio and the colors on this Viewsonic are much richer. This monitor rocks.

Buyer Beware
Pros: Not all of the pixels are dead or prone to getting stuck.
Cons: Dead pixels out of the box. Also, I have experienced many stuck pixels in just a few hours of use/testing. I would not purchase this item if I had it to do over again.
Other Thoughts: When you pay your hard earned money for a product - you have every right to receive a non-defective product. Dead/Stuck Pixels are a defect and not an acceptable annoyance as they would have us believe.

Why buy one when you can buy two for twice the price?
Pros: Good sized monitor for its price, I originally bought these when they were about $xxx a pop. I replaced a single 19" viewsonic CRT I had for 3 years with them. The jump from 1600x1200 to 2560x1024 was a little difficult, but the boost in productivity was worth it. Bright and crisp. DVI is a plus, and comes with DVI and VGA cables. Has mounting holes for stands/mounts.
Cons: When you buy LCDs, you make a gamble. I took that gamble and lost. Remember that the manufacturing process isn't perfect and that dead and stuck pixels is the reason why LCD prices stay down--Because the LCD needs to be remade in order to remove dead/stuck pixels. Keep in mind I bought two of these: I have two perma-stuck pixels on each monitor in the exact same spot and exact same color. A green pixel @ 852x3 and a red pixel @ 1230x170. The speakers are a joke e.g. flaky bass, but you get some speaker cables. The monitor stand leaves much to be desired.
Other Thoughts: I really wish I had dead pixels instead of stuck ones. They're really obvious when playing games or watching movies. After having a monitor off for at least 2-3 hours. The pixels will appear dead at first, but light up within 15-45 minutes to greet me. I've tried many methods but none of them work -- Pressure, rapid pixel changers, etc. Too bad I can't just switch them "off"

Excellent for gaming and DVDs, especially for the price!
Pros: I have played several games, at high qualities on my 6800GT, to see if there is any Ghosting and there is NO Ghosting what-so-ever. Even played a few fast-action DVD movies on it, and the quality is amazing! The colors are really vivid, as with all ViewSonic products I've owned. No dead or stuck pixels after a week of owning it. DVI Cable is included.
Cons: Just a personal issue, I do not care for having the speakers on the monitor, as it is an eye sore in my opinion. But this certainly does not change my rating of the product.
Other Thoughts: I did a lot of reading reviews on several monitors, and while I would have liked to have had a 2-4ms monitor, for all the gaming I do, I am not regretful at all for buying this one!

Good LCD, not so much for Gaming however.
Pros: Clean, crisp image. Great coloring. Everything you need for normal use of internet and using programs for graphics and such.
Cons: Gaming...I made the mistake of listening to the people who say there's no ghosting..they must be playing Tetris or something (which does look great on this monitor.) I play CS:S, starting to get serious but I feel this monitor is a bit of a let down, especially for FPS fans.. Beware of the slow responce time!
Other Thoughts: Listen to the review two below this, you dont want this for gaming..

Good
Pros: No dead Pixels, crisp, clean picture & no back ground reflections... (not a slick shiny screen). Well built & simple to operate.
Cons: for the price, none really
Other Thoughts: Bought two of these to replace my crt's & glad I did. I would purchase them again. Can't say about gaming, but I would suppose they'd be OK. Haven't tried the speakers yet, but what serious stereophyle would use them anyway?

Slow - Not for Gaming
Pros: The VA912b is very crisp in DVI and VGA. Colors are good.
Cons: This monitor's response rate is SLOW. Playing Oblivion, BF2 etc. there is a lot of blurring/smearing/ghosting. It got to the point wear I can't play games at all on this thing. I will be buying a VX922(2ms) shortly.
Other Thoughts: I am a bit more sensitive to refresh rates and response times, but c'mon people?!? So many people say there's no ghosting. Are you looking at the same monitor I am?!?

Great monitor, not problems so far
Pros: Bought this on memorial day weekend for $xxx at Cxxxxit cxxx and I have to say its real nice. Was scared it would ghost but didnt in CS and Call of Duty.
Running DVI on a amd 2400+ 1GB ddr 2700 Radeon 9600XT works great SOO BIG!
Cons: Nothing really, firs LCD and its great I have to say
Other Thoughts: I would like it to be able to tilt down b.c its on a stand and about 2.5 feet away.

Very Impressed, Again
Pros: I just bought my second VA912b, and I couldn't be happier. Big, sharp picture, bright, no dead pixels, and relatively cheap. What more can you ask from a monitor?
Cons: Speakers aren't good for much, but who cares?
Other Thoughts: I'd buy another of these without hesitation.

Pros: It WAS a nice monitor...
Cons: A big line of dead pixels at the right side of the screen. The manufacturer agreed to repair it (not replace it, which they should have done), I sent it out, and I haven't seen it since. That was about a month ago, and they claim 7-10 days for a repair.(The shipping company delivered it to them, so I know it's not lost somewhere) In concluion, I was pretty upset with the manufacturer's customer service.
Other Thoughts: It probably would have been a good monitor, I wonder if I'll ever see it again.

Great Monitor
Pros: This monitor is great! I have had no trouble hooking it up at all. I love the DVI cables that came with it.
Cons: I'm not sure how to manually adjust the sharpness and tinker with the settings because they are greyed out in the monitors menu.
Other Thoughts: Other people talked about the back panel hard to take off, I had no problems what so ever.

Awesome Monitor
Pros: Very bright and beautiful monitor! It's extremely sharp, clear and much easier on the eyes than my old 17" CRT. No stuck/dead pixels at all.
Cons: I think if I actually used the speakers then that would be something I might put here, but since I don't use the speakers at all, then I wont' worry about it.
Other Thoughts: I was reluctant to buy this at first, but I'm completely happy with it. It makes typing up papers/coding much less tedious since I don't have to strain my eyes, and games look wonderful.

Beautiful Display!
Pros: Huge Display. I went from a 17 inch CRT to this beast. I am more than satisfied. Viewsonic even has dual inputs for two different computers. Has buttons on the monitor to switch between the inputs on the fly. I was shocked that UPS was able to deliver the package on time. And of course Newegg.com had a great price. KUDOS!
Cons: None. Great product, shipping time, and price.

good monitor, lousy speakers
Pros: very good image quality
Cons: speakers are nearly useless, tinny and very low volume (even with all the settings cranked up). Barely useful for beeps and other alert sounds, forget about listening to music or movies though.
Other Thoughts: The speakers aren't worth the extra money compared to the manufacturer's other model without speakers; save a few bucks by getting the other monitor and get separate speakers. Mine came with one dead pixel, but fortunately it is a fairly neutral light blue color near the edge of the screen.

Great value
Pros: outstanding display
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Thinking of buying a second for my GF's computer. Only found one dead pixel upon delivery... but massaged the screen ( like another user did ) and viola! It came to life. No more dead pixel. Buy this LCD! It is great!

Best 19" Lcd for the price....
Pros: This monitor looks better than the $500 monitor I bought less than a year ago (Oblivion looks awesome!). It is inexpensive. It comes with both dvi and d-sub cables, plus it has speakers (not very good, but they are there if you need them.)
Cons: The first monitor I recieved had problems. The screen would flicker once in a while, and the pixel response time seemed well over 8ms. This monitor used to be rated at 16ms, but ViewSonic has supposedly updated them to 8. The 2nd monitor I recieved had a sticker across the top of the monitor claiming 8ms response time, while the 1st did not.
Other Thoughts: VewSonic was pretty helpful in exchanging my monitor for a new one. They even air-shipped the new one out first!

Great
Pros: Bright display, no dead pixels, power display light isn't bright unlike my old monitor, no ghosting, great for games
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Using the RGB cable instead of DVI and it looks great. My previous monitor was a 17" CRT.

Pros: Large display, easy assembly, excellent clarity, very bright, shipping as expected
Cons: Native resolution is quite high, lower resolutions (1024x768) are not as clear as desired. My monitor came with no dead pixels, however there is a faded area ranging from one and a half inches wide, down to three inches in length located in the middle of the screen just right of the center. It has not affected any game play, and is only noticable when there is a black or darker background. However it does concern me.

Works like a charm
Pros: Lightweight, good look. Bright. Works with my two computers via REG Analog, through the DVI port, and through a two-computer KVM (VGA) with no problem.
Cons: While I am positive that the box is sufficient for shipping, I was worried when I saw that it was the only box that this monitor came in. I opened my box, which had minimal tape, etc., and saw a fairly accessible monitor. Fortunately, everything worked just fine.
Other Thoughts: I like it. I recommend it. Good price. It may not have been the least expensive (by 5-15 dollars), but I have ordered a ton from newegg.

Good for the Money
Pros: This monitor is good for its money. Newegg carries the best price compared to local stores. No dead pixels. Using it with my dual 3.0 setup and GeForce 7900 card. Built in speakers are nice...
Cons: Shipped in original box with no tape, but it works 100%...
Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a descent lcd monitor, this is the one!!!

Pros: Great monitor, no dead pixels
Cons: Alittle dark during games, but can be easily fixed by turning up the brightness in the game
Other Thoughts: I still have a 19" CRT Viewsonic that works great for the past couple years, hoping this one will last as long. Newegg Rocks

a good review
Pros: bery bright, clear and sharp image. mine had no dead or stuck pixles. when using the DVI connector, all adjustments are done automatically.
Cons: the speakers of corse. but i dont even have them connected, i like my altes lansings and my stero set up in 4 chanel mode. the speakers in teh monitor are no big deal really and they are ok if you use the monitor in an office environment or if you dont do a lot with media. perfect for the windows dings and some music here and there.
Other Thoughts: when considering this monitor look at price. i feel i got a good deal for a name brand monitor with DVI. both why i bought it. also compare the contrast ratio and the response time. there are actually 2 responce times: one for light to dark, and the other for dark to lite. lite to dark will always be lower.

Very Good
Pros: Very good coloring and for gaming / video it performs with excellence. Low price, DVI and no dead pixels.
Cons: Non-adjustable stand.
Other Thoughts: For the price it can't be beat since it has DVI and no dead pixels. Great buy, definitely recommended.

Nice
Pros: VGA and DVI ports, along with cables. DVI input is super sharp. Auto switching between inputs and auto screen sizing is very fast, very nice. Comes with cables. 3 year warranty can't be beat, buy with a VISA, get a total of 4 years. No dead pixels. Light.
Cons: Cables a little short. VGA input not very sharp. Makes me want another for dual screens. ;)

Newegg/Homerun
Pros: Once again Neweggs customer service is the best I've ever seen.Ordered on a Monday recieved on Tuesday. Box was in good shape, no dead pixels, colors are bright and crisp , text is clear, no ghosting, easy access to buttons, this one looks as good as my Hyundai L90D+ LCD, I would take this Viewsonic VA912b flat panel over any CRT.
Cons: Box came without being sealed with tape. Not to smooth.
Other Thoughts: For the price this is a great monitor and I would buy it again.

Pros: This monitor is pretty good and excelent for this price.

Pros: This is a big monitor with a good picture for a very good price.
Cons: Have 1 stuck pixel & I have tried everything possible to get it unstuck. Not a big deal though. Speakers are not good at all, but I didn't buy this monitor for the speakers anyway.

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome
Pros: No dead pixels. I switched from a Viewsonic 19" CRT, and I'm happy I did. HELLO desk space! Video and games play beautifully. Ordered it Wednesday morning, and got it Friday afternoon. Good monitor for the price. I love you New Egg.
Cons: I wish it could do better than a 1280x1024 resolution, but that seems pretty standard for the price range.
Other Thoughts: Nifty design on the back. A panel pops off easily to connect the wires, and then goes back on to cover up the connections. Looks clean from the back if you're not putting against a wall.

Great LCD!
Pros: I'm very pleased with this LCD, no dead pixels, bright display, plays DOD Source, original DOD, Guild Wars, etc.. like a dream with no ghosting. The cables were easy to hookup (some LCD's are just awefull with plug locations).
Cons: With a black screen the edges are brighter, probably from the backlight, but it isn't bad at all.
Other Thoughts: I wouldn't hesitate to get another one of these down the road.

Just noticed something about this monitor
Pros: See my pro's I listed in my previous rating below this one.
Cons: I've noticed that this monitor is kind of loud. It sounds like water running through it or something. I guess that's the "liquid" crystal display? Never noticed that on a LCD before though. If you put your ear up to it you can really hear it.

WOW....this monitor is great!
Pros: Just got the monitor today, straight of the box I was amazed at how big it is. This puppy is huge! The screen is beautiful looking, colors look great, no dead pixels. Nothing wrong with this at all. I had no trouble making the connections in the back like some people had said. The speakers on here sound great for what they are as well.
Cons: No big cons, the only thing I wish I could change is being able to adjust the volume with the arrows that are on the front. The arrows are only for contrast/brightness. To adjust volume you must navigate through the OSD menu.
Other than that, no problems what so ever. Hopefully it last for along time and it continues to satisfy me.
Other Thoughts: I've wanted a LCD for along time now and always been afraid to get one because I didn't want dead pixels, ghosting in games, or any of the other problems commenly associated with LCD's. I am extremely glad I got this one now. I wish I would have done it along time ago. If you're having second thoughts go ahead and bite the bullet and do it. You'll love it.

Freakin' Amazing
Pros: Bright, vibrant colors, zero ghosting, zero dead pixels, breeze to set up, great for gaming, I play CS:S, HL2, DOD:S and it rocks! AND takes up very little space compared to that bulky CRT, probably about 1/6th of the space.
Cons: Um, it costs money?
Other Thoughts: I went from a 17" LCD to a 19" LCD, and other than having a larger screen, I could not tell the difference from my CRT. In fact, this has better display controls than my CRT and the LCD trounces it in every way.

Excellent even w/ 2 dead pixels
Pros: The monitor is absolutely brilliant in producing sharp and crisp images. I don't know how well the analog works, since I'm using a DVI connection. This is also the first monitor I've owned that has a DVI connection, so I'm sure it adds to the appeal. For the price and the screen real estate, it doesn't get any better. No ghosting with its 8ms response time. I get a steady 75fps on CounterStrike: Source, and it's plenty for me, without any traces of LCD "problems." In fact, playing it on this 19" makes it feel even more immersive. DVD playback is not a problem, and you can view it from many angles without any loss of image quality.
Cons: I received the monitor with 2 dead pixels. On towards the top, and one slightly below it and to the right. They're mostly noticeable when there are black/gray areas, like expected.
Other Thoughts: I would prefer companies to have much better quality assurance to make sure customers don't get any dead pixels, but even with receiving this one with 2, it's not really that bad. Not too noticeable and it all comes down to how picky you are. I'm generally a very picky person, but for some reason, the quality of this overall and with its price, I am very satisfied and happy with it. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good all around LCD with a name like ViewSonic that you can trust. 3 year warranty is also a plus. Oh, and I didn't even bother with the built-in speakers, so I can't tell you how they sound, but I'm sure they sound tinny and not worth using.

As good as it Gets for $250
Pros: Great monitor, easy set up, DVI quality indeed.
Cons: 1 dead pixel, and the stand isn't as adjustable as some may like, it swivels up and down about 15 degrees. But these are extremely minor.
Other Thoughts: the monitor is very nice. I can't say that there is NO ghost in game, but its so incredible minor, that you don't notice it unless you are desperately trying to find it. If you have been afraid to go for an LCD because you are an FPS gamer, fear no longer. This monitor is highly acceptible for counter-strike source/1.6 and other fps games. You won't be sorry you bought it.

Totally satisfied
Pros: This was a tough decision, but I was completely satisfied. The screen dimensions are great, the color is vivid, and I was happy to see no dead/stuck pixels. Definately worth the bucks. And most importantly, World of Warcraft has never looked better.
Cons: Almost didn't fit under my hutch.

Awesome!
Pros: HUGE! Beautiful colors, no ghosting in gaming, beautiful in movies, pictures look better than ever. A very good monitor for an avid gamer and computer user. I did a lot of research and chose this one over the VA912a (one without speakers or DVI) just because of the DVI input. Great choice!
Cons: Arrived with 1 dead pixel. Not a big deal - you can only see it infront of black.
Silver buttons look a little cheap and cheezy.
Rear design with cables is a little goofy. I took off the back plate and it offers more room for the cables.
Other Thoughts: A big step up from my View Sonic VP150 15inch.
ViewSonic makes wonderful monitors. I wouldnt trust anyone else.

Very Impressed
Pros: I've used Viewsonic monitors for years with great results, and this one's no exception. It's big, it's bright, and not a single dead pixel. No ghosting that I've noticed, although I'm not a gamer. Couldn't be easier to set up - I noticed someone mentioned lack of menu options, but I haven't had any reason to even look at the menu.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Great value.

Power usage is really 38 watts
Pros: Power used is really 38 watts per the Viewsonic website. Not 60 as NewEgg has it. Lighter weight than the 17" Samsung I bought 4 years ago. Not a hassle to carry into another room to another computer.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: none

Default (factory) settings too bright
Pros: Zero dead pixels. I like the DVI. You can hook this up to two computers. One via DVI and one via analog, and switch back and forth with a button click. Many options to control LCD parameters. I love the slick black look. Have ignored the speakers so far. Go to "memory options" to revert to factory settings
Cons: Default settings are too bright for my 55 year old eyes but I have a feeling all LCDs are like this today. For young people this may not be an issue. My guess is the average LCD of today is designed for a work setting under harsh fluorescent lights where this LCD's brightness is not an issue. I have brightness set on zero and I vary the contrast depending on whether it's daytime and nighttime. I like a dimmer monitor at night. I've used LCDs since 1999 and they used to be NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH!
Other Thoughts: I like Samsung. My Samsung 17" 760v LCD from 4 years ago is not too bright for me. And it has the same 250cd/m2 rating as this one. I would have bought Samsung again but Viewsonic was a better deal and a major name so I went with them. Some of the current Samsung 19" are reviewed here as being too bright also so what can you do?

Good Monitor
Pros: Great monitor so far. Looked for a month and this was the best price any where. Ordered Wednesday night 9 pm had it Friday 1:30 pm
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: A 17 inch may hve been all I needed at home but for the price difference I had to try the 19 in. This was the first time buying from Newegg I will look here to buy again.

Not that great
Pros: I am used to it now and for the main reason the space it saves I am happy I bought it.
Cons: I have had a CRT for years and this is the first LCD I have had for my comp monitor. Takes alot of adjusting and getting used to. The colors are not as good and text not easy to read compared to a CRT.
Other Thoughts: If you want to settle for lesser color quality and text reading compared to a CRT then go for it.

It's GRRREEEAAAT!
Pros: Great viewing area and so easy to install. Plug and play at it's best. Had no difficulty with instructions and set up some people were talking about earlier. They were brief but easy to understand and the hardware itself is pretty easy to figure out. No dead pixels and no ghosting and very bright and clear.
Cons: It did come in the retail box and wasn't sealed but that's part of the deal when you get the free shipping.
Other Thoughts: I did a lot of searching and review and by far this is one of the best gaming monitors for the low to mid budget gamers. My wife was very happy with me. :)

Very nice monitor
Pros: Beautiful picture, DVI and VGA inputs, zero dead / stuck pixels, nice price. I am very happy with this monitor.
Cons: If you're a gamer building a budget PC, the native resolution (1280x1024) may be a little higher than your hardware can handle.
Other Thoughts: I was thinking of getting another one for a dual display, but I think that'd give my 7600GT a heart attack. :)

Beware RMA
Pros: Fine monitor at a good price
Cons: Immense problems with ViewSonic replacement / return experience when a line of pixels failed. Read the other RMA reviews - they are not joking! Newegg - manufacturer warranty performance is unaccceptable, consider removing the brand from sale!

Fantastic Monitor for the buck
Pros: The monitor itself has a great picture, no dead pixels and no ghosting that I've seen so far. Thus far it's been great for all my applications including gaming which is pretty demanding. I'm super pleased with its performance all around and feel the money spent on it was spent well.
Cons: The built in speakers stink but I really hadn't planned on using them anyway since I have a surround sound system already.
The driver for the monitor is included on a cd-rom however WinXP was unable to use the wizard to install it so it had to be manually done. The driver is also not signed by Microsoft however I have not had any issues using it thus far.
Other Thoughts: This was my first purchase at newegg.com. Their shipping response time was great and I received both the items on my order in a very timely manner.
My USB card was packaged in its retail box within another box with peanuts in it. The monitor was in its original packing box like what you'd get at a retail store and it was not sealed so anyone could have opened it up and taken anything they wanted. The box also clearly stated what the contents were so had the box been left in not as nice a neighborhood as ours you can bet that it would be gone in a jiffy. I think that an outer box sealed with tape would be more appropriate for a shipment like this. The packing material seemed to be sufficient.
I was also a little miffed when I bought the monitor in an "8 hour sale" only to find that the very next day the price was cheaper when not on sale. Granted, it wasn't much cheaper but still...what's the purpose of an "8 hour sale" if it's sold cheaper the very next day???

Good
Pros: Analog and Digital input. No dead pixels. Fast newegg shipping.
Cons: Somewhat cheesy looking interface buttons. No hieght adjustment, but didn't expect one for this price.
Other Thoughts: I would recommend it.

Great Monitor
Pros: Good price, good size, good contrast/refresh rate, included DVI cable.
Cons: None really.
Other Thoughts: Great buy. I highly recommend this monitor. Setting up the picture via monitor controls a bit difficult. Looks best if you can adjust it using Adobe Gamma. Once I ran that program, the picture looks great. No dead pixels and no ghosting problems yet.

Buyer Beware
Pros: Beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. Clear. Sharp. No Ghosting. It's everything I expect from a high quality LCD.
Cons: I ordered two of these for home use (I host LAN parties frequently) and one arrived flawlessly. The other did not come with a base. I e-mailed to the manufacturer's link, which auto-replied (referred) me to another link. I e-mailed that link to receive a reply that they only handle RMA issues over the phone. I called, explained my problem, and they assured me they would send me a base asap. They did - but it was the wrong one. I appear to have received a monitor of a previous model year, and their base assembly is different. I called back and explained the new issue, and they assured me they would get back in touch within 3 days. A week later I called them back, had to explain to someone new, and a manager, the issue, and they assured me the right part would come. They sent the wrong base, again.
Other Thoughts: One more call and another uncaring associate later, they approved sending me ANOTHER base without even asking what was wrong with the previous two. It's in the mail, and I know in advance that this is ALSO the wrong one. If you are like 99% of the other people who receive this monitor, there will be no issue and you will love it to death. If you are unfortunate enough to have to deal with their customer service I can only hope that you get someone competent enough to resolve your problem. Their customer service is from the very pits of hell itself. I only wish I was joking.

veiwsonic 912b
Pros: This monitor rocks. Its my third LCD. One (samsung, one nec and the new 19" viewsonic). Not a single problem as yet and known aare expectd. Choice hardware and choice retailer. Does't get any better.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: A tv tuner would be nice. the price for tuners is reasonalble and falling every day. that the only change. One more thing I really like. The 170x170 viewing area is so nice, when friends are over its great that they don't have to like oner your head to be able to see the screen.

Good choice in a monitor.
Pros: Price, built-speakers, size, speed, excellent picture.
Cons: Software installation clunky. Paper manual consists of 2 pages in english. Online registration year option stops at 2004.
Other Thoughts: Previous reviews are correct: very bright. Resolution popup every few minutes (even after you select the recommended resolution!) annoying until you navigate the menu buttons to turn it off. Speakers are ok and beat hauling external speakers if moving the machine to a friend's for the evening for more mundane work rather than sound intensive music or games. The monitor tilts enough but is tight. Just pull the back connector cover off at the bottom. Connections have embossed labels above them and reflective foil strips to assist in seeing...not great but glad they're there. No ghosting. Fast monitor. No dead pixels. Wife happened to be home for lunch or UPS guy wasn't going to leave a retail box on the porch.

Pros: Very bright, great with games, COD2, no ghosting. DVD's look great, Use Microsoft Cleartype utility to get the best text on XP.
Cons: LCD's though much better than in years past still do not have the screen clairity of CRT's.

You get what you pay for
Pros: Cheap, fast response time, no noticible ghosting so it's OK for gaming. Decent color representation. No noticible dithering in games.
Cons: Not a 24 bit panel. The panel dithers, it is noticible drawing a gradient across the screen in photoshop or gimp. Contrast ratio isn't great.
Other Thoughts: I'd take it over a CRT any day. It's much easier on the eyes, plus you don't have to worry about frame syncing issues like you do with CRTs.
