Pros: I can't say this is a pro because if u already have decent speakers, then u wouldn't b using the monitor speaker anyways. The monitor speakers look reasonably large and loud enough. That's about it.

Cons: Much cons. First off, my old IBM Thinkpad laptop is much more clear then this monitor. I fine tuned manually as much as possible, but it still a lil hazy around the text and fine lines. Kinda almost makes me dizzy if i stare at it too long. This unit replaced a CRT monitor and i would say it's not much better if at all. I do have to say i am using the analog. Maybe the DVI would give sharper display. I also have a Nuovo 19" wide and i like it alot because it's very sharp and clear. One con is that it does get better black then my Nuovo. Another terrible thing are the controls which someone already mentioned below. The controls are on the side and use single rocker button for each of the 2 controls and u can't see the buttons so it's hard to figure out if u r pressing the right buttons. They also put the down button above the up button. How stupidly unintuitive design. They should have put the puttons on front and kept them separated. No vertical adjustment.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the money. Look at other brands and models. I have never been satisfied with Viewsonics in the past and im only getting the chance to review this because my work bought one for me. My experience with them as well as my friends are that they don't hold up and their specs are higher then the actual performance often times.

Pros: No dead pixels.
Image is very sharp in contrast to my old CRT.
DVI makes life easier ;)

Cons: I will do my best replasing this piece of junk. The monitor came with brightness preset at 100, and I'd say it's not enough. There should be at least 150 to save this monitor. The picture is way too dark even for room with no light. But contrast does nothing to save the day - only spoils colors. I found a color correction file VG920.icm on CD. Used it with NVidia Color Correction and found out that it was desperate try by ViewSonic to fix this disaster. Low brightness of the image was fixed, but the colors (especially dark ones) were absolutely spoiled. Brown eyes in close up pictures of people now look yellow-brown. I could never imagine it would be so easy to make Shania Twain look ugly. Dark grey text is now light grey and very hard to read (thanks (a higher being) black text is still black and sharp).
I am not an LCD hater. I have 2 year old 15 inch MAG LCD working great with another PC. It displays colors almost as my old CRT used to before it was broken.

Other Thoughts: Few more words:
1. I use DVI cable.
2. Because the color preset does not work with overlays, I cannot watch TV using my TV tuner anymore. I thought there was no light at the stadium where France played against Brasil.
3. Since when the name of the Creator is considered a bad word at NewEgg?

Pros: Case is attractive, base is easy to rotate. Screen is sufficiently bright. Contrast is decent.

Cons: Text looks tolerable most of the time, but quite often looks downright terrible. By terrible, I mean that the colors bleed outside the outline and that makes it difficult to tell some of the narrow characters apart. That all happens at native resolution, 6500K, and about 70% contrast and brightness. Additionally, I also don't like the layout of the buttons on the side; like someone else mentioned pressing the higher button for down and the lower button for up is counterintuitive.

Other Thoughts: This monitor sits on my desk at work, so it'll never see a single game. All it needs to show me is text, and it doesn't do that all that well.

Pros: The VG920 has a very bright display with excellent brightness and contrast. Response time is great for basic use, as well as DVD video and 3D Gaming. Very cool design and pivot / swivel feature is nice.

Cons: Side-mounted buttons are very confusing (up is down, down is up?) and some of the plastics feel slightly cheap. Rear panel may be hard to access for larger hands.

Other Thoughts: At almost 16 lbs., this LCD Monitor is more on the heavy side, but still much lighter than any CRT out there.

Pros: I liked the way this monitor looked, in addition to its specs, so I bought it. The screen size is quite large and feels much larger than my old 17" LCD. There are no dead pixels and it's great for gaming!

Cons: The side buttons are hard to press and it can be confusing to mess with in little to low light. The paper instructions are't really helpful.

Other Thoughts: There is a message that pops up if you open something that isn't set to the native resolution, but it can be turned off. The program on the CD has a lot of helpful info about using the side buttons and setting things up.

Pros: very clear, bright monitor. No ghost when playing game. great resolution. one word.........Great!!!!!!

Cons: none.......so far. hehe

Other Thoughts: I use this monitor for gaming, Graphics design, autocad, catia, etc. all with great results.

Pros: Just plugged it in and it worked beautifully. All pixels are present and reported for duty. Nice balanced display without any adjustments. I can't rate it for gaming but movie watching is very good. 3 year warranty is important to me.

Cons: Good thing I didn't have to adjust settings, because I found them awkwardly placed on the right edge of the screen and rather tiny and hard to discrimate which control I was pressing. I prefer the front based +/- push buttons.

Other Thoughts: The speakers are not much to speak of but they are good as your second or third set.

Pros: Excellent picture; no problems; very happy

Pros: NO DEAD PIXELS, Perfectly crystal clear, no ghosting in the few new games I have thrown at it. Better color saturation than I have seen on most LCDs. Some were complaining about the non-user-friendly controls, but I think they are just fine. Looks modern, sleek, beautiful. Comes with all the cords you need!

Cons: Horizontal viewing angle is average.

Other Thoughts: Speakers are what you would expect out of any built-ins with no bass. They are very comparable to laptop speakers. (maybe slightly better)

Pros: Beautiful picture,stylish, and I am still sore from patting my back on the great descion to go with this monitor, when at the time, there was only 1 review on it.Installation was speedy and easy, when the picture wasn't perfect I called tech support within the first 10 minutes and the tech told me exactly what to adjust and how to do it.time from start to finish was about 20 minutes including the tech call.I worked in the computer industry back in the olden days (90s) and Viewsonic was a proven performer for graphic artists.

Cons: I have small hands and can usually reach places where big fingers can't reach. The jack on the back at the farthest right of the monitor is much too close to the side of the opening,needs a little more space. Very difficult to make secure connection without many tries.

Other Thoughts: This was my first experience with New Egg. I rate it 100 on a scale of 1-10.The reviews are an excellent source for novice and experience users alike. Site has link to each and every manufacturers website. Great service, great company!Bravo, New Egg!

Even on analog input has perfect auto-adjust(hate my old KDS for screwing that up often)

Cons: Expected less change in appearance at different angles. Vary noticable washout at angles on a dark screen, yellowish on a white screen.

Other Thoughts: Got spoiled staring at a three-times-as-much Viewsonic HD TV/Monitor(the 27" Newegg sells for less)

Pros: The monitor is great- vivid color, awesome picture, crisp image. I like it a lot better than my old boxy monitor. the swivel on the bottom is cool too.

Cons: don't use speakers, seem like a waste, but nothing else seems bad

Other Thoughts: buy it if you want a leet flat panel... and have the money.

Pros: Slick design, sharp colors especialy using the digital connector over the analog. Very good monitor for the price. Using in design firm.

Cons: Built in speakers are good for monitor speakers, but not useful for anything outside of corporate use.

Pros: Quality of product is amazing. I have never seen images this crisp and bright. Definatly worth the $350.00

Comments: If I had only 1 word to describe this monitor it would be NECTAR! I'm still in awe of how crystal clear the images are on this monitor. The included DVI cable was nice. I catch myself staring at my desktop just thinking about how crisp my wallpaper looks lol. I've watched DVDs, played some fast paced games, etc. and all around I'm really impressed with how this monitor performs. If I could give it more than 5 eggs I would. Buy it!
