Good Professional Monitor
Pros: Beautiful monitor, great response time. I use these monitors all day in a office setting for computer programming and architecture. No dead pixels. Like the USB ports on the monitors, unexpected bonus. Using DVI cables out of the box with no problems.
Cons: Not completely intuitive to install a mount kit (had to "pull" plastic cover that didn't look like a cover). Didn't come with the manual that's available on ViewSonic's page (would have been nice). Monitor is a bit too quick to cycle VGA-DVI-Standby on reboot, finicky with ability to see BIOS screen on startup.
Other Thoughts: I have 4 of these monitors connected to the same pc. Running Intellization z Pro using Quadro FX700. Monitors are mounted using quad monitor desk stand (Ergo DS100).

Bad to Worse
Pros: Excellent display.
Cons: When it works. Now out for the third replacement (4th monitor) since purchase April 2006. Purchased Express Exchange. Difficult to execute with cust service no's 1 and 2. This time was told no parts available and no units avialble for exchange. Sent it to Viewsonic anyway.
Other Thoughts: Failures 1 and 2 were heat related. Smell of hot electronics followed in a few days by failure. No 3 failure to initialize. RMA'd 1950 Pro to ASUS, retail box returned. Still won't boot. Tested similar LCD and no boot problems. Extensive on line test ViewSonic tech and same conclusion. What a mess! An expensive one at that.

Gets most jobs done
Pros: No ghosting whatsoever, gorgeous picture, not much in the way of vertical height for this size screen.
Cons: When the monitor works, it's awesome, but often times (such as a cold boot of the computer) it will lose signal. As a matter of fact, it loses signal sometimes when a black screen is shown for too long. While it could be trying to pick the signal back up, it instead decides to tell you that it lost the signal while still displaying nothing, even though the sound of what you were doing is still playing.
Other Thoughts: Great monitor, as long as you don't need to do constant re-installs of operating systems, which require a lot of reboots.

Installed today
Pros: Mine shipped with a dvi-d cable, contrary the experience of others. No dead pixels. Lightning fast shipment.
Cons: Flickered at first, which scared me. All seems fine now.
Other Thoughts: awaiting spyder2 for calibration, but images look sweet in photoshop. Had to turn down the brightness and contrast until my eyes get used to the transition from a $100 17" CRT. Driving with 6600GT.

Unable to reliably receive signal
Pros: Color and resolution are great.
Cons: From the time I first installed the VP2030b, the monitor would erratically receive a signal. I have since returned it for repair and then returned it for a new one (they sent a used one) and still have a problem. If I reboot, reset or install a new video driver on my computer, this monitor will not recognize a signal where 3 other monitors including a Viewsonic VG2030M do not have a problem.
Other Thoughts: Think about a different monitor

So far so good
Pros: Everything.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: This is my first Viewsonic, I usually stick with NEC, Samsung, and Sony. I'm impressed! Not only is this monitor a great value, it's also very high quality. I give it 5 eggs for running with the big boys and coming in a couple hundred bucks cheaper. Thanks Newegg!

Fantastic monitor!
Pros: Excellent picture quality. No motion blur evident. No dead pixels. Interpolates resolutions below 1600x1200 very well. Wide range of adjustability for height/angle/etc.
Cons: Footprint is somewhat large for a LCD. Interpolating very low resloutions (1024x768 and below) produces a blurry image.
Other Thoughts: Problems mentioned with DVI in previous reviews were not apparent, supplied cable worked perfectly in DVI-D mode.

AWESOME picture, but some connection issues
Pros: Best picture I have ever seen on an LCD. Bar none. Easy to set up. Very adjustable. No dead pixels.
Cons: Had to get a new DVI-D cable (I bought a Belkin) to cure some issues with the BIOS screen not displaying.

Amazing monitor
Pros: The picture quality from this monitor is amazing, response time is good in FPS games, I do not notice any ghosting at all.
Cons: The DVI cable came with the monitor sucks, I had to pick up an DVI-D cable from (local electronic store whose name is censored by newegg)...

Great Monitor - Great Price
Pros: This is a great monitor for the price! No problems with set up or hooking it up to my G5. The DVI-D cable comes with it. Great color, crisp and clear. I'm a full time designer and I work all day on the same monitor. So it was a no brainer when it came to replacing my old Nokia.
Cons: Only issue I had was with delivery. UPS would not deliver without a signature... So the day it was suppose to arrive I rushed home only to find a UPS sticker. Had I know they would not deliver unless someone could sign for it, I would have shipped it to my owrk address.
Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a great monitor but don't want to spend big bucks for the other brands, this is one of the best deals I found---and Newegg had the stock.

DVI-D cable!
Pros: no dead pixels, sharp, crisp text, great color!
Cons: none yet...
Other Thoughts: After being on backorder for some time, I got a notice that these were back in stock, so I ordered one. After reading the reviews, I figured I would have to buy a DVI-D cable, but upon reciept, the monitor came with a DVI-D cable. Apparently, Viewsonic has fixed this problem. I can't comment on the USB hub issues yet...

Great value
Pros: Very good picture at 1600x1200. Get more screen real estate than those widescreen monitors that are all the rage now.
Cons: 1. The autorotating feature doesn't work consistently. Sometimes it boots up in portrait mode. The solution is to reinstall PicturePerfect software. Other times the image simply doesn't rotate at all in response to screen rotation. 2. The USB hub not only turns off when the monitor goes off, but it turns off when a program changes graphics resolutions or modes. It then comes back in about 10-15 sec. If you use the hub for your keyboard/mouse, once it goes to sleep your input devices are disabled.
Other Thoughts: Great deal from Newegg. I ordered Mon afternoon, received the monitor Tue morning. Wow!

A+ Image, A+ size, C- USB ports
Pros: Outstanding, crisp image. No noticeable light-bleed, No ghosting, NO dead pixels, none stuck, either:) Highly adjustable stand, and stable as a rock. Simple setup and reasonable footprint (for the stability gained)
Cons: Really dissapointed that the 4 onboard USB ports de-activate when the monitor goes to sleep-- it kills my mouse, which won't work right again until a reboot. Obvious and dumb oversight from the maker.
Other Thoughts: I love this monitor-- just love it. As advised here, bought a DVD-D cable with it, to avoid the common stock cable problems. Ugh, I hate those USB ports cutting off with the monitor on "sleep" Grrr....

Customer Service palters.
Pros: The Monitor is good.
Cons: Cusomter services really very bad.
Other Thoughts: What I bought is a defactive unit and Viewsonic promise to ship me a replacement within two days. But the truth is it took over a week. When I called them, they just tell me that their warehouse's esclator was broken. After that, I get a different model. This time, they request me to send the wrong model back and promise me that they have a brand new one in stock. So I shipped, and call back. The answer I got is : Sir, we don't have same model you want, you can wait or take a repaired one. Also, they don't even know how long I'll wait.

DVI-D & Quadro - BEWARE
Pros: Good picture, Good Price
Cons: I used this monitor 30 days in the graphics profession. CAD and Solid modeling. Video card is a Quadro FX 700. Using DVI-D and supplied cable. Each time I Reboot (hot) I would lose the monitor completely. I would then have to do a cold boot to restart monitor. Viewsonic tech support was terrible, I'll give them 1 out of 5 stars. P_Y video card tech support was most helpful 5 out of 5 stars. Newegg gets 4.5 of 5 stars. I had a bit of a problem exchanging it for a different manuffacturer.
Other Thoughts: Nvidia has a web site (thread) on problems of this nature, 5 pages of it. The Viewsonic is listed. I've used Viewsonic CRTs since '92, never a problem until now. Due to their poor quality tech support department this was my last Viewsonic.

Pros: Earlier posted a review, that I had to return this monitor to Viewsonic to have repaired, I did this, Viewsonic had it back to me in 14 days, and now love it.
Cons: Only the frustration of having to send it back.

Well Done Viewsonic
Pros: A very good step-up from my old Viewsonic VP201b (the workhorse). Received it in the 3 days promised. Absolutely no dead pixels. Much faster response time and about half the cost of it's predacessor VP201b. Very crisp/sharp picture. Good for graphics.
Cons: None at this time.
Other Thoughts: Make sure to get a long DVI-D male to male cable. Dual link works just as well as single link. Lock your monitors input into DVI-D rather than the default Auto. Get a good graphics card. My installed card is: Sapphire 8X AGP RADEON 1600Pro 512MB. Finally, had no setup problems. Was up in running in about ten minutes.

Loving This Monitor
Pros: This was a drastic improvement from what I had previously [19" CRT - 1280x1024]. I didn't know I was missing so much until I hooked this up and started to play World Of Warcraft using the new settings of 1600x1200 DVI. The setup took all of moving my old monitor to the floor, unpacking the new one and plugging in the cables. Couldn't of been any smoother. (No bad pixels either)
Excellent Buy
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: This arrived 1 day earlier

Pros: Excellent pixel/dot spacing, practically unnoticable. No problem with bad pixels as some people have had. Fast response time and plays movies well. Stable platform with smooth movements.
Cons: Colors a little less saturated than on my previous monitor. A bit too bright for normal useage so I have to keep the brightness setting turned down to around 30%.

Pros: Good price Newegg delivered in 3 days
Cons: In my case when trying to use this monitor using the digital hook-ups & supplied DVI-D cables, I've got nothing but a constant black screen, tried 3 other video cards all with the same result, works fine with analog only using the 15 pin connectors, called Viewsonic (they do have 24 hr tech support) they said they would send me a working one after they recieved my return advanced replacement form, but since, I recieved an e-mail saying that do not have one available, I would have to return this one to have repaired.
Other Thoughts: I'm hoping for the best, if I new it was going to work out this way, i would have purchased a equivalent Dell flat panel, using a Dell at my job, has a fantastic picture.

Cable Problem Solved
Pros: Adding this comment to a previous post...
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: To fix the cable problem with DVI (that everyone discuses in this forum), simply set your refresh rate to 60Hz... starts up no problems every time! DVI-D is designed for 60Hz... now this is a perfect purchase!

ViewSonic VP2030b
Pros: Excellent screen, no dead pixels, crisp, clear, bright - and quite large. Stand is more stable than I anticipated based on other reviews... overall very happy.
Cons: For some reason, the monitor doesn't start up every time if I use the DVI cable (about 1 in 3 times it doesn't turn on)... windows boots, and I hear the windows sound, but no picture...Works fine with the analogue (15 pin) cable, but not the DVI... believe there is a problem with the DVI cable based on other reviews...
Other Thoughts: Recommend considering buying a good DVI-D cable with this monitor, the one that ships with the monitor may not be the right one... headed to buy another cable now myself...

Highly Recomend
Pros: Not only does this monitor have great specifications, but it also is able to deliver them. The picture quality is excellent, and text is very clear and extremely sharp. The high response time also makes artifacting imperceivable.
Cons: This monitor really has few flaws.
Other Thoughts: The monitor comes with a disk that installs the drivers and calibrates the monitor settings. I highly recomend using it, but it is not required with Windows XP.

Now this is a nice monitor
Pros: I have a VA912b. I never liked it that much and never understood why the great reviews from everyone but me. Now this monitor the VP2030b is worth paying twice as much with the clear text, colors and build quality of this.
Cons: I just got it so for now I cannot think of any. I was hoping there would be more of a size differece between the 19 and 20.1" but there is not that much.
Other Thoughts: Great monitor and I think it is worth the price!!

Be sure to order DVI-D cable!!!
Pros: This monitor looks great!!! Playing FPS games, watching DVDs and video, this displays them all with ease. I highly recommend this monitor to everyone.
Cons: DVI cable that comes with it supports DVI-A and my monitor would not display DVI-D. I had to order a DVI-D cable.
Other Thoughts: 10' DVI-D cable I got that fixed my DVI-D not work problem.
Item #: N82E16812189048
Check Neweggs other cables too, 10' seemed the best for me.

A review of the VP2030B
Pros: This monitor is pretty good. It has a horizontal swivel, vertical height, and the monitor turns on it's side to give you up down mode. The contrast ratio is high for it's class, brightness good.
Cons: This monitor is very heavy. It will take your fingers off if you aren't carefull lifting it. The stand is very akward, and the footprint is not bad at all. It tends to rock back and forth so that's not good. The base needs to be more stable. I forget about the cable. The LED on the front is very bright, so some electrical tape will fix that. You will get the X from corner to corner because of the poor backlight scheme. This would make professional work very difficult imo.
Other Thoughts: I got this open box from newegg. Good deal. The monitor will hopefully last me many a year. Make sure to keep the box if you ever move trust me.

AMAZING!!!
Pros: This monitor is slick!!! Super slick!!! I am a 3D animator and Web Designer along with Coding and some minor gaming...
I am at a loss of words for describing its utter beauty! Its immaculate. No dead pixels... fantastic brightness and AMAZING colors... unbelievable. Very large and not awkward to carry whatsoever! If you are trying to decide between this monitor and another one... go with this one. You will not be dissapointed.
Cons: When you first start it up... Its insanely bright and hurts your eyes. So wear sunglasses on first run through :)

Excellent monitor
Pros: Definitely a good purchase. Better than the VX series if you ask me. It's an excellent mid point between fast pixels and accurate pixels. Very very nice black screen results on this one.
Cons: Very heavy base, and a little clunky design for the cords on the back.
Other Thoughts: Overall, I would say this is the one to go with if you plan on doing design work and play a little bit. Not as fast as the VX series, but the colors look way better.

Excellent Overall Monitor
Pros: I bought this monitor to replace a Samsung 172T and overall I am very pleased. This monitor is very bright but still provides a nice range of colors. Although not the fastest monitor out there it deals nicely with Fear at 1600x1200. I have yet to see any dead or stuck pixel on this monitor.
Cons: The DVI cable provided is an anolog AND digital cable. This seems to confuse the monitor into thinking it is an analog connection when it is connected to my xfx Geforce 6800gt.
Other Thoughts: I used my old DVI-D (only) cable from my old Samsung monitor and it works fine on boot & running.

Excellent for x64 and Vista beta 64
Pros: Superb picture quality. Resolution makes photo work and games stand out. Testing great running Windows Vista Beta.

Very nice panels
Pros: - 1600x1200 native resolution.
- Very thin bezel, excellent if you're going to be using 2 or more monitors at once.
- Very bright and crisp (too bright really, I had to reduce brightness by 70% to avoid squinting).
- Mine came with DVI-D cables, so I didn't have the problems that others had with only getting DVI-A out of the box.
- No dead pixels (on either of the 2 that I bought).
Cons: - At 1600x1200 native, if you have to run games below about 1024x768, it's pretty blocky.
- You need a decent graphics card to drive the native resolution.
- The stand takes up a lot of desk space. So much, in fact, that I replaced them with Ergotron LX Desk Arm stands. Now the panels just float in mid-air above my desk, freeing up a lot of desk space (and it just looks really cool)!
Other Thoughts: I bought 2 of these to replace a ViewSonic VP191b. When I decided to go to a 2 monitor setup, my main criteria was 1600x1200 native, fast update for gaming, and thin bezel. These panels definitely fit the bill.
At least with this model, ViewSonic has changed their packaging a bit, putting a handle on the top of the box instead of having 2 holes on the side (like my old VP191b). Both boxes arrived with no dents or obvious mishandling. Perhaps the handle gets the shipping company to actually use them for lifting and treat it with more care?

Pros: Great quality and a good size. I play a lot of games and this monitor is very good for that.
Cons: Two pixels that are always on, but you can't see them unless the screen turns all black. Even then I would have to show you where they are for you to see them. The software that came with the monitor crashed my computer (Windows XP). I would not recommend using it.

Great Monitor
Pros: The Specs, the performance, the features.
Cons: The DVI-I Cable sucks. You pretty much have to get a dvi-d cable if you want the highest quality experience available to you.
-1 Dead pixel...it kind of angers me off, but oh well.
Other Thoughts: This was moderate step up from my 19" flat crt. It was viewsonic as well. It is rare that I am not impressed.

great monitor/bad tech support
Pros: This is my first LCD monitor. Finally broke down and got rid of the old CRT. Vivid colors. Nice contrast and brightness. So far, no noticable ghosting. No dead pixels spotted. In short, I'm happy with the switch.
Cons: Comes with a DVI-I cable which does not work with the bundled software (PerfectSuite). E-mailed software company which said to get DVI-D cable, which I did. To get that cable to work correctly, you have to force the monitor into DVI-D mode (but then you can't see boot-up info before windows screen). To fiddle with bios or see any text before windows luanches, I think I'll need to switch back to DVI-I. Viewsonic tech support says that bundled software is not supposed to work correctly (just one feature). They also couldn't explain anything about how the monitor picks between DVI-A mode versus DVI-D mode on start-up.
Other Thoughts: I'm really enjoying the monitor itself. It take take some fiddling to get the 1600x1200 resolution to show decent sized icons, text, etc. NewEgg was great as always.

Brilliant Image - Bad DVI interface
Pros: Been a VP201B user for a long time and didn't think it could get much better, but the VP2030B has even crisper text and more brilliant colors.
Cons: The device has a problem in the DVI interface where it can't negotiate DVI-D properly. The only way I could get it to go to DVI-D instead of DVI-A was to set it to ONLY use DVI-D. I tried non-analog cables to try to force it but that didn't work.

Simply Beautiful!!
Pros: Crisp Clean, Vibrant Clear!!.. wonderful contrast and simply beautiful!!. The size is perfect i cannot fathom having a bigger monitor! Upgrading to a CRT 19inch to this, is simply a treat! The naitve resolution throws me back in my seat, from anime, WOW, to watching the music visualizations in WINAMP and M.P. even from the kitchen! Impressive!.
Cons: Almost nothing about the "Hardware" itself. could of had built in speaks or t.v. tuner, but thats the 100plus model from this one. "Software" wise its useless, register it and recieve emails, and gain a new found frustration for the add in software to tweak it.. still trying to get the portrait view working...
Other Thoughts: NEWEGG ROCKS!!.. recieved it 3 days! as promised UPS right to my door. The competitive pricing is a added bonus!! a pleasure to do business and will continue to do so in the future. (side note: Only one dead pixel, but the monitor is so huge it took me a month to notice)!! PREMO!

VP2030b on a MacG4
Pros: Smart design, Great width for InDesign/photoshop work. Rich color display (once I attained the needed calibration.)
Cons: Overly bright. I had to calibrate this dislay a few times to get it to show rich colors. The intense brightness can wash out highlights and colors, especially important if you are working with pantones/cmyk palette.
Also, I could not use the supplied DVI cable to connect to my mac G4. The analog cable will not give you the best picture quality. See other thought on this.
Other Thoughts: I am an Apple Mac G4 person. Apple products just work!
With this display the first few days were real tense. I learned by trial and error that the supplied cable does not work properly with my G4. The cable created many flashing green pixels which at first I thought were bad/malfunctioning pixels. After discussions with ViewSonics tech support I decided to purchase a high end DVI-D dual link digital cable. This completely cleared up the flashing pixels issue.
My next tense moment came when the display did not recognize any digital signal upon start-up the next day. It recognized the analog signal, but not the digital. (i swiched to analog cable to test) This may have been a glitch in OSX permissions, so running the Axxxe disk utility a few times seemed to resolve this.
I wish the Axxle 20 LCD wasn't $xxx. I'd feel more at home with it. However, if I have no other problems with this display I'll feel like my $xxx investment was money well spent.

Nice Value
Pros: Highly adjustable stand. 1600x1200 resolution. Colors are bright. 2 USB ports.
Cons: Script is kind of fuzzy. If I fix it in one place, it fuzzes out somewhere else. The base is HUGE!! It's half the depth of my old CRT.
Other Thoughts: I game with this monitor. It does that very well.

Good picture, but that's all...
Pros: The image is excellent in landscape mode. Which is the most important factor for my use (graphics/animation production)
Cons: The image, at least text, is not great in protrait mode. I had some difficulty with the image on the display rotating automatically, though ultimately I was able to resolve them. However when I talked to a ViewSonic support specialist, he didn't know if this monitor supports automatic rotation and apparently couldn't look it up. After six weeks, I discovered that the USB hub has failed. After a couple of emails and calls to ViewSonic Tech Suppt., I was told that I could get an advanced replacement, so they emailed an Advance Replacement Agreement. But as it turns out, because I purchased the monitor over 30 days ago, I am responsible for shipping (and insuring or not) one way. At this point, purchasing a USB Hub 2.0 hub seems less risky and more reliable, so I'm going to skip the RMA, and Viewsonic gets to keep their full profit on the monitor. Interestingly, on my 20" Viewsonic CRT, purchased in 1998, the USB Hub never worked, nor did the hub on the replacement base they sent
Other Thoughts: I've owned 4 Viewsonic CRT monitors over the years. When my 20" croaked at the ripe old age of 8, I figured it was time to jump on the LCD bandwagon. I use the monitor as a second monitor for my laptop. As I researched which monitor to buy, the Sxxxung's were highly recommended. When I looked at the NewEgg reviews, most people liked their Sxxxungs, but most people loved their Viewsonics, so I figured I would stick with the program. I don't hold it against them If they can't do USB, but they shouldn't include it on their monitors, its a waste of everyone's time. I doubt I'll buy ViewSonic next time I buy a monitor.

Pretty spiffy
Pros: Does everything we need on our workstations. I like the usb hub in back and adjustable stand. No dead pixels. Sharp picture.
Cons: Noticed a little ghosting while using pan in autocad, compared to CRT. But that has been on any lcd I've used so far. Have not used the cables supplied with it, so I can't comment on the cord issues mentioned by others.
Other Thoughts: Ordering 3 more.

Viewsonic's answer to the incorrect cable!
Pros: Good Hardware bad support!!!
Cons: Here is viewsonic's answer for the incorrect cable supplied with the monitor "Thank you for contacting ViewSonic technical assistance. Go to viewsonic./pieceparts, to find all your ViewSonic piece parts needs.
If this is does not resolve your issue, please give us a call at 1-800-688-6688. Please have the product's serial and model numbers, we can better assist you.
Have Nice Day, Thank you for choosing ViewSonic KevinW."
Other Thoughts: Well at least they say have a nice day when they put it to you. Remember after you purchase this monitor you have to spend the additional monies for the correct cable--DVI-D.
Thankfully New Egg has them here at great savings!

Viewsonic has bad customer service
Pros: I received this moniter in two days after purchasing it and was impressed since I paid for 3 day shipping. Easy to set-up and it looked great. Only had one dead pixel and was very satisfied with the quality of the product.
Cons: Two days after owning this model I went to turn it on and it was dead. I checked the power source, cord and buttons. I called viewsonic support and did what was suggested (unplug and let sit for 6 hours then plug back in again). Didnt work.. No big deal get it warrantied right? I called viewsonic and told them about the situation. They said no problem we will send you a new moniter BEFORE you even send your old one back. Just make sure you mail your old moniter within 10 days of receiving the new one. After filling out a few forms and faxing back to viewsonic I then received an email. It said they were currently "out of stock" of my moniter and they would need me to send my old one FIRST. Then I will received a "working" unit within 10 days. After calling them to see where the logic is in this (why not send the new replacement in "10 days" and THEN i will send you my old one) they told me that they want to fix my old one and they have...
Other Thoughts: "no idea when they are getting any new ones." They also said its possible they will just mail me a "viewsonic demo" or a new one. I was very upset especially since every time I talked to a person from Viewsonic they seemed irritated or annoyed that I have a warrant issue. So i called newegg and explained the situation. They immediately asked if i want a full refund including the price of shipping it back to them or a swap for a new unit. ONE phone call, ONE answer, ONE happy customer that will always buy all their electronics from this company. Thank you for not dragging me through the dirt Newegg!

Great Monitor BUT VIEWSONIC Needs to send the correct cable!!!
Pros: Crisp Picture, No Dead Pixels Nice Layout.
Cons: THE SOFTWARE DOES NOT WORK WITH THE SUPPLIED CABLE,,and I quote--"Thank you for the information. The Perfect Suite cannot talk to your monitor when using a DVI-I cable. We have had reports that DVI-D cables resolve the issue of the DVI-I monitor signal reporting analog. You might wish to contact ViewSonic for help in this matter or use the VGA cable supplied with the monitor."
This came after Hours trouble shooting the software!
Other Thoughts: New Egg Rocks 3 day "free" delivery that came in 2!

Fantastic Monitor! Noticed an immdiate difference in my Photshop work!
Pros: Wow! I can't say enough good things about this monitor. I had it out of the box, setup and configured in about 30 minutes. Working with Photoshop I had to run through lots of calibration, but the monitor was dead on pretty much right out of the box. I haven't tried games yet, but videos are crisp and bright. The footprint is smaller than I thought and the controls are intuitive and user friendly. It was a bit bright right out of the box, but that was easily fixed. No dead pixels and a super clear display with great blacks and colors. Even better when properly calibrated with Spyder2.
Cons: High price. But it was worth it. I bought last week and the price has come down $xx! I wish NewEgg would offer a price guarantee of at least a week. Almost every major retailer offers 30 days! Plus they threw in free shipping! I had to pay. That's over $xx difference.
Super bright out of the box. Had to be adjusted.
The software package sucks. After I installed, all the features were locked out to me. I'm working with ViewSonic Customer Service to figure out why all the tabs are grayed out.
Other Thoughts: This monitor rocks. I love the wide format instead of the square format of the 19". Allows me to really have lots of Photoshop tabs open and still have a huge image to work with...and maybe even a poker site or two. :-)

Excellent Monitor
Pros: This monitor arrived in perfect condition, zero ded pixels. Very bright, deep blacks, no ghosting, atleast that I can detect.
Cons: There is a very slight x brightness effect when the screen go black, but this effect is very minimal. A bit heavier than expected.
Other Thoughts: I would recommend this monitor to any gammer, image editor, web designer, CAD designer, well anyone...

Very nice monitor.
Pros: This monitor is very big and bright. The text is crisp, clear and easy to read even at 1600x1200. High-speed FPS gaming runs great with Far Cry and the Medal of Honor games (all I've tested so far). Newegg shipping is incredible - I received the monitor the day after I ordered it!
Cons: My monitor has one bright red dead pixel about 1/5 of the way across from the left edge of the screen. It's mostly not noticable, but when I see it, it annoys me. The included DVI cable is only DVI-A and doesn't support DVI-D. You need to buy a separate DVI-D cable.
Other Thoughts: I love the way I can rotate the screen 90 degrees. Viewing web pages as a "page" in this manner reduces scrolling quite a bit.

Not what I exepcted
Pros: Well, it's a 20 inch LCD alright... with a 22 inch CRT footprint. I guess the brightness, sharpness, picture is above average for an LCD. Not much else to say for pros, gaming with it is OK, see cons.
Cons: Dead pixels, 2 are barely noticable, while one is bright red and in the middle viewing area. Plus you I can see the X on the black screen that was mentioned previously. Auto adjust messes up 90 percent of the time when starting a game. What happens is the game takes over control of the video card (of course) then the monitor does an "auto Adjust" the screen goes black and stays black, while I can here the game, I can't see it! I contacted Viewsonic through there websight 2 days ago with no response. Never happens on my CRT. This thing was a huge disappointment.
Other Thoughts: I am suprised, I have viewsonic CRTs that rock. I read all the raving reviews and couldn't find one with such a crowed of fans so I went with it. I want to send it back and Im willing to take the cost hit for doing so.

Great Monitor!
Pros: IQ looks crisp on this bad boy. Response time is on point. Running in DVI-D without any problems @ 1600x1200 in X1900XTX Crossfire mode. The best thing I love about this LCD is that I can look a movie from any angle and the picture still remains good unlike alot of other monitors.
Cons: One dead pixel, but it isn't that bad. The feet are big, took up too much desk space.
Other Thoughts: If you lookin for a great monitor under $500 this is the monitor to go get.

Pros: Beautifull monitor. Replaced a dying Viewsonic g810-5 crt with this one. Wow what a difference. No dead pixels and the picture quality is amazing.
Cons: Had initial problem with getting it to run in DVI-D. Even bought DVI-D cable, but wouldnt even work with it. Must have cycled it around somehow without a cable hooked up, Now with original DVI-I cable and is running perfect at 16-12-60hz in DVI-D.
Other Thoughts: Newegg just flat rocks!!. As always, fast service, and a great price. Will always use Newegg. :)

ViewSonic VP2030B
Pros: Excellent display for users that open multiple windows for coding or documentation - stand is excellent
Cons: Two bad pixels, always ON, one red one blue. Acceptable.
Other Thoughts: If I get a white pixel stuck "ON I might suspect a plot.

DVI
Pros: Great picture.
Cons: Initially used D-Sub connect. Then realized my card was DVI capable so connected w/supplied DVI cable. Connect only by DVI-A(nalog). Unable to connect DVI-D(igital). Replaced the graphics card. Same problem. Called Viewsonic for RMA. Described problem and my action/settings. Viewsonic rep immediately knew the problem was their DVI cable. Cooly told me to buy a DVI-D cable. Asked for a DVI replacement. Get it from your seller response. I did e-mail with the problem earlier for tech advice - no response.
Other Thoughts: I will never ever buy another Viewsonic product. They know the supplied DVI cable is not reliable and don't disclose. Had I known - easy solution.

Performance and Low Prices
Pros: No dead pixels .. Great design - better than the older tripod bases - more room. My 4th Viewsonic Monitor - plus 2 for my kids - all great!
Cons: None -
Other Thoughts: Newegg service and delivery is the best of all my online sources. And I live in the remote desert of Arizona - so we order lots online - even groceries! Thanks Newegg!

Impressive
Pros: Looks like a high end magazine page in video graphic form. No dead pixels. Less space than the 19 inch CRT it replaced.
Cons: Pricey but value
Other Thoughts: The CD has a color profile and is listed in XP Display/Color Management. I set monitor to sRGB then used ATI Color/ Desktop/All Channels and Gamma to set color. 16 bit because I prefer bright color.

Excellent High End monitor!
Pros: Tilt, rotate, and pivot 90 degrees are very useful for doing graphic arts, AutoCAD and desktop publishing. Playing games are absolutely beautiful as well! BF2 and NFS Most Wanted are unbelievable at 1600x1200. Viewing angles are better than most monitors I've seen. No dead pixels!
Cons: On a totally black screen, you see a faint X pattern of light seeping thru, but totally unnoticable if anything other than all black. Oh yea, and like everyone else said, it has a big footprint, but it is necessary to support it when you go pivoting it, and rotating left and right.
Other Thoughts: Going from a 15" CRT, this thing is MAMMOTH! and I love it. The USB hub is actually more helpful than I thought it would be.

What CRT?
Pros: Where do I start? The incredibly crisp image, or the vibrant colors? How about the behemoth screen size? This is my first LCD, although I use them on a regular basis and I have to say I'm absolutely blown away by this monitor.
Games look fantastic, and no ghosting that I've seen. No dead pixels either, something I was kind of worried about. Did I mention this thing is huge? Newegg got it to me in 3 days, which considering UPS has been iffy as of late is great in my opinion.
Cons: I waited this long to buy one.
Cost is kind of high, but when you compare the features of this monitor to others of similar size, the reason for the increased price becomes apparent.
Other Thoughts: Another thought on UPS.. .the delivery woman was more or less moving the box into my house by turning over end by end, as it was apparently too heavy for her..
It's like 30 pounds, but that's not the point. The point is that this idiot could have damaged my monitor with her careless ways. I must again urge Newegg to go back to strictly using Fedex. At least they know what they're doing.

Great Monitor
Pros: Got to replace VS 815 CRT monitor. No dead pixels, not a gamer but on videos I did not see ghosting. Learned to really like the view. Like being able to rotate 90 degrees and have tal screen
Cons: The software that came with the monitor came on 2 CD's. One with the monitor drivers which worked fine. The CD with the software for adjusting the color, res ect I had some issues with. It has several features and it seems you have to install all of it. The rotate image replaced the ATI driver in that area and I prefered the ATI driver. Note the software does work though I decided not to use it.
Other Thoughts: The monitor came with a DVI-I cable and antilog cable. The DVI-I caused the monitor and vidio board to come up in antilog mode. I replaced the DVI-I cable with a DVI-D cable and solved the problem. Note software to adjust monitor must be in Digital mode using a DVI cable. Final note I really like the Monitor - no problems

A great value with no compromises
Pros: I bought this monitor to provide some extra desktop space when working with my tablet PC (HP tc4200) at my desk. The combination of the 20 inch screen, the 1600 X 1200 pixel screen resolution and the ability to rotate the screen have far exceeded my expectations with respect to how much working space would be provided by the addition of this monitor.
I'm inclined to be very picky when it comes to monitors, but the color, brightness and clarity of this unit are well above what I was expecting from an LCD monitor at this price. Video playback looks great on this monitor even though I'm only using an analog D-sub connection with the standard video card that came with the computer.
Also, the system arrived with no dead pixels.
Cons: As others have noted, this monitor has a rather large footprint. However, when compared to the 19in CRT this unit replaced, I feel like I got a half of my desk space back.
Other Thoughts: An added bonus on this monitor that didn't recall being mentioned in the specifications is the addition of four USB ports on the back of the monitor. With respect to wire management, it's every bit as good a buying a docking station since I only have to plug the monitor's USB cable in to my computer to get access to the other four devices sitting on my desk.

Very good monitor
Pros: No dead pixels. good color. black is black. Games look great. Very little to no ghosting. Good viewing angles. Includes DVI cable.
Cons: Huge footprint. Watching any video isnt as great as CRT. Any resolution other then native is mediocre. Very pricy.
Other Thoughts: I had to make the switch from my CRT to this lcd due to my CRT dying. This is my first LCD. I immediately noticed how bright these things are. I'm used to it now though. The only time it ghosts is in CS, although it is BARELY noticable. Only happens once in awhile. Newegg shipped on time as usual, perfect condition.

Awesome
Pros: No dead pixels. No ghosting with the DVI cable. There is really nothing bad to say on the performance end.
Cons: Slightly larger stand footprint than I anticipated, but I'll learn to live with that.

Excellent
Pros: Beautiful screen. Enhances my desktop ten fold. Great clarity and wonderful graphics. Response time, even with games is negligable. I play many FPS's and I have no complaints. Software is sturdy and costomer support excellent
Cons: Software that comes with the monitor does not support the newest graphics cards...
Other Thoughts: Great choice and at a resonable price, considering the size and quality.

Orz
Pros: Looks good on your desk!
Cons: It ghosts worse than my old junky LCD.
Other Thoughts: I recently owned the Viewsonic VP201b monitor. It was hands-down the best gaming lcd I've ever owned. Well recently it blew out after extenseive use, so I ordred the VP203b as a replacement. After firing it up, it looked pretty good using hte internet and staring at my desktop, and thats about it. I fire up a FPS game, and immediately my heart breaks. I was so upset to see how bad this LCD ghosted I almost puked. I don't see how this newer model went wrong. The VP201b is so amazing I didn't think they could mess up their future line of monitors. Now I'm stuck with a monitor that is good for viewing the internet =\ well at least until I figure out how I can trade it for a VP201b that is.
