Pros: Good panel, very good image quality.
Cons: Flashing colored lines across the screen at start-up. Must cycle the screen resolution (1680x1050 -> 1600x1000 -> 1680x1050) to get rid of them, often quite a few times before the screen becomes usable.
Also, after one year, it started making a very disturbing high-frequency noise (the inverter?).

Excellent Monitor
Pros: Excellent, well-balanced color and good grayscale range for most Windows apps. For color managed apps (i.e. Photoshop and Lightroom), colors are a bit less saturated than more expensive panels, but overall tones are still accurate.
Cons: Doesn't do as well with an older VGA Analog laptop I've got (some banding/interferance issues likely due to the laptop itself), but another VGA laptop and a DVI desktop PC I've got don't have any problems with this monitor.
Other Thoughts: My primary monitor at home is a 26" NEC Multisync 2690WUXi (which cost $1000 more than this HP new). While that monitor does a bit better for photo editing within color managed applications like Photoshop, it's always been a bit too "punchy" and over-saturated in most other apps. This HP is much nicer for all-around use. A great bargain!

Fantastic
Pros: Image quality is absolutely stunning. Visibly better than other monitors built with lesser quality panels.
Cons: Boxy industrial looking design. Although I do prefer this to some of the cheesy designs from other manufacturers.
Other Thoughts: I was skeptical that this monitor would be worth the price premium, but I'm sold.

Problem resolved
Pros: Very sharp, awesome depth of color that only a TN monitor can deliver.
Cons: Takes a little while for it to wake up from sleep or from off to on. I attribute this to the detection process for DVI and DisplayPort. They should have designed it so that user can select an input and bypass this process.
Other Thoughts: I had the same issues that many are reporting on here. I got one of the earliest versions. Contacted HP business support and they sent me a new one. Haven't had flickering green lines since and the monitor seems to be more responsive when powering on.
Mine is labeled REV. SPG223 on the outside, SPG082 in the menu.

HP LP2275w
Pros: None that I can think of
Cons: Does not work for even 1 sec. I plugged it in: nothing. Changed my cable DVI already plugged into my previous 19in LCD to the one provided in the box by HP:nothing. Wasted 1 hour of my precious time. DEAD ON ARRIVAL.

Excellent colors but slow
Pros: Excellent color accuracy benefited from the PVA panel (Not the cheap TN panels like most of LCDs out there). The black is really deep. Uniform & bright backlighting. Sharp fonts. Outstanding built quality. Great OSD controls.
Cons: 1st one came flawed. Just like many others said, it had the horizontal lines on wake-up. Half of times it could not even wake up from sleep. Power supply buzzing during use. Not too noisy but loud enough to distract u in a quiet room. The replacement came quick and has had zero problems so far. But wakeup from sleep still seems a bit slow. Sometimes it takes nearly half a min for the display to show the desktop (connected to a Macbook Pro). Other than that, an excellent LCD for an amateur photographer like me.
Other Thoughts: This monitor has a bad reputation out there if you dig around on the internet. The horizontal lines and slow wakeup is a common problem for the early production batches. But it seems HP fixed the problem later. Buying the openbox ones from Newegg for $150 less might even give you a better chance for a good unit (at ur own risk). But don't take my word for it.:)

Buyer Beware...
Pros: Could be the best 22" out there – sharp with great color – excellent, for a matte screen... BUT…
Cons: Intermittent flashing blue/green horizontal lines that appear randomly on the screen is a real distraction... also noticed banding with certain colors... which comes and goes… Tried swapping cables and video sources… installed and reinstalled drivers… to no avail. Turning the monitor OFF and ON works for a few seconds… but problem pops up somewhere else on the screen.
I believe this monitor has some serious problems... and HP knows. Check out the HP Business Support Forums... search on "HP LP2275W problem?" Wish I had looked at this forum first... nuts! Other reviewers on newEgg have noted similar problems.
PC Support Staff at work (4,000+ desktops) said that they had similar problems with other Business Class monitors (19” LCD)… this is not good.
Other Thoughts: Returning the product tomorrow…hopefully this is NOT a manufacturing problem… or I’m in for a long cycle of returns and finger pointing… This is my first HP LCD…many folks have recommended the company for their quality and performance…
I would think again.
I hate this… other than the problem noted… this is a good monitor… bummer. ?

DisplayPort
Pros: DisplayPort is a definite pro because it works great.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: DisplayPort is a more open standard than HDMI and is a royalty free standard unlike HDMI.

HP Broken Quality
Pros: This monitor looks good, calibrates easily with spyder2. Love the additional screen space when using photoshop over a crt.
Cons: Horizontal lines on the screen in the wrong color. Connected the monitor to a laptop and a pc and the lines are present on both, I have tried two dvi cables and the lines are still there, the only way to get rid of them is to use the dvi to analog cable. Tech support is a joke as the monitor isn't in their data base and I can't get past "What is your product number?"

Nice, But could be better
Pros: Monitor looks good, base is very sturdy and looks very professional. Screen picture quality is not bad but could be better. S-PVA medium grade quality.
Cons: I own a Dell 2007WFP that is S-IPS and the black levels are much better on S-IPS panels vs S-PVA. I was hoping this would be close in quality. But it isn't, I cant get the windows media 2005 calibration for black to not show the moving X in the background. I could get this calibrated fine with the Dell.
Other Thoughts: I hope Newegg will carry the HP LP2475w which is a 24" and S-IPS. I may return this one to purchase that one. The quality of S-IPS is much better!

Amazing
Pros: I have used this monitor for the past few months in my computer hardware class, and from what I can tell this is an excellent monitor. We play a lot of games in the class and it shows excellent performance. The stand works like a charm, up, down, right, left, my teacher has 7 of these on his desk that is multi-level, and they all sit at the same height in a nice semicircle around him. Would be great for multiple monitor systems.
Cons: It is a bit pricey, but well worth it.
Other Thoughts: It is kind of annoying when you turn off the monitor and it shuts off the USB hub. Its not that big of a problem, it is just noticeable because my flash drives have to reconnect.

Quality
Pros: Upgraded from a ViewSonic VX2025wm 20.1" LCD. If you're using a TN panel monitor you are missing out on so much of the color gamut. This monitor is beautiful and easy to calibrate. Nice anti-glare coating, fully adjustable stand, no bleed through or dead pixels, contrast is uniform across the screen and viewing angles are fantastic. Great price and equal image quality of more expensive S-PVA monitors. 22" size is perfect, not too large or too small. Handsome sitting on your desk also as it just looks like well made monitor.
Cons: Height adjustment is cumbersome. Power light is a little bright in a dark room but it's small and not much of a distraction. I'm guessing it weighs twice as much as my 20.1" TN monitor.

Quality Hardware
Pros: One of the few 22" monitors that does not use a TN panel. Much less expensive compared to similar 24" monitors. I have not noticed any severe lag. The build quality is fantastic. Not only is there a very nice rubberized compartment for cables in the stand, but there is also a rubberized area around the back of the monitor so you can put a web cam on top and hide the cables. I found the stand and swivel to be incredibly well built and I really appreciate the fact that there is little change in the colors based on viewing angle.
I really like the menu system and was very happy to see that you can turn off any of the monitor information message. By default the monitor will show messages when you turn it on or when it changes input and both can be turned off. I really really wish my viewsonic monitor had this. Also, the menu system is much much easier to use than my viewsonic.
Cons: I have never used a professional lcd monitor bigger than 20" before so I don't know how this compares to other monitors like the Dell 2408. However, when I look at the screen I find that the brightness does not look very uniform. The corners of the screen look darker. I don't know if this is my eyes playing tricks on me as it changes as I move my head. Its not bad and I have not yet "tuned" it other than by eye.
Poor software quality. This is a brand new monitor as of August/September 08. Yet, HP's tuning software will not install on Vista Ultimate x64. It gives a message that it needs to reboot the computer to continue installation but it does not matter how many times the PC is rebooted. Also, they have a test pattern you can put on the screen but it will only show on the primary monitor which is frustrating when running dual monitors.
Other Thoughts: The bottom line is that this is a great 22" monitor. I really like the fact that the monitor has USB ports, a stand that swivels, tilts, rotates, and height adjusts, or you can wall mount.
I've had no problem with the stand. If you lower the monitor to the lowest height it locks into place. Push the unlock button and lift up on the monitor and it height adjusts freely thereafter. It actually works really nice, and is spring loaded so height adjust works with little effort.
When I plugged the monitor into VGA at work it looked great in terms of color. When I plugged the monitor into DVI at home every preset color range had a really severe blue/green tint to it. However, manual color adjustment was easy.
Despite some issues I still think this is a great monitor and I'm going to buy another. This is still better than a TN panel but TN panels don't suck as much as many people here and online seem to indicate. Just don't get your expectations unrealistically high.

Fine S-PVA monitor
Pros: One of the few S-PVA monitor in it's size Can be turned vertically Matte finishing meaning no reflections whatsover Easy setup Software calibration is a great perk and very user-friendly 178 degree viewing angle Simple, elegant design
Cons: The height adjustment button and column sticks! You have to push up on the monitor to get it to go up. Haven't figured out why this is happening, but when Windows starts up initially, there are horizontal flickering lines on the screen, after login they disappear.
Other Thoughts: I bought this because the price was right for a 22" S-PVA. Very impressed with the sharpness. I owned a Dell 1905FP previously and this is on par, if not sharper than the Dell. Not to mention that I paid MORE for it at the time.
