Rating + 5 LCD beats CRT

Pros: I just built a system and got the usual 19inch LCD screen. It was OK but I felt the screen was letting everything down..So I stumbled on this page and liked what I read..So I took the risk and brought..Gaming lag was a worry..but It games just fine so far.DVD movies are lovely and blu-ray discs really show what this screen can do.Watching planet earth on this screen is a moving experience..After being disappointed with LCD technology,I have finally found what I was looking for.Well worth 600 and I am very happy with this screen.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Easy to setup with HP Cd.2 inches thick, swivels around so you can view web pages and photos with a high screen, one click rotation. No remote,no speakers just a great screen.

Rating + 5 Awsome

Pros: This was the first non-TN panel LCD I have used and I must say it is impressive. I have been using it for more than a month now and when I look at my old TN-panel LG the difference is shocking. I never realized how washed out and dull TN panels were until I used this H-IPS panel. I use this for some light photo editing, but mainly for games. Is it overkill for games? Maybe, but I appreciate superior technology and want the absolute best picture possible. I have played dozens of different games, new and old, and have not experienced any ghosting or image distortions. It looks just like a 2ms display!! So awesome. The stand is exceptional as well for height, swivel, and pivot.

Cons: Its pretty large compared to similar sized LCDs, but that is understandable....IPS panels need stronger backlights than TN panels. 1920x1200 resolution is not supported by xbox360s so the picture is not good. The 360 runs it in non-native 1920x1080. Not the monitors fault, but I was hoping to use this for my xbox360! Mine came with one pixel stuck in green, unfortunate but not noticeable during routine use unless you really look for it.

Other Thoughts: Since buying this IPS-panel LCD I will never go back to a TN panel. HP did a truly fantastic job with this monitor from the plethora of input options, usb hub, HDCP compatibility, fast response time, incredibly solid and versatile stand, and best of all the price. I watch blue-rays on this and the quality is incredible. The 1920x1200 resolution works just fine for blue-rays as well. My blu-ray player software (Total Media Theater 3) just adds small black bars on the top/bottom of the display. It keeps the monitor in its native resolution for picture quality, which is beautiful at 1200p =D It should be noted that a fairly beefy cpu/gpu is needed to run modern games at 1920x1200 with all the graphic settings turned up. I have an i7-920@3.1ghz, 6gigs ram, and a HD5850@810/1150....rather expensive setup but it allows me to play games @1920x1200 with settings maxed. Image quality is superb. If only I had the money to run 3 of these at the same time!!

Rating + 5 Excellent monitor. Great for photo editing.

Pros: Excellent color and density (when calibrated). Nice and bright. Very good viewing angles. Solid construction and sturdy.

I cannot vouch for gaming qualities because I don't play video games, but if you are into photo editing, then you owe it to yourself to check this baby out!!

Cons: Absolutely NONE.

Other Thoughts: I have been a professional photographer since 1982, and I have been working with digital photography professionally since 1992. I build my own computer systems too (most recently a Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, AMD system). I say this because I want those reading this review to understand that I know what I'm talking about, and I'm no beginner.

With that said, I can honestly say that this monitor simply ROCKS! After calibrating it with my Spyder3Elite, colors and density are dead on perfect! There are no defects in the LCD screen (color or pixels). Maybe some other reviewers have received a bad apple. It happens. But mine is perfect.

I cannot also believe I was about to purchase a LaCie monitor for more than twice the price! What a dumb investment that would have been, considering this beauty is available.

I did buy this from a competitor (sorry NewEgg), but N.E. gets the vast majority of my business anyway because of their outstanding product availability and price.

Rating + 5 Great Product

Pros: Great size (thought it would be too big but actually its perfect),1920x1200 is better then 1920x1080 (more work space), incredibly sharp, clear, absolutely no dimming when changing my view angle (ie-slouching in my chair), great on screen display controls, fantastic stand adjustments for height/angle/tilt/etc., matte black finish on outside bezel and matte finish screen (no stupid mirror effects due to an overly glossy screen), easy to get to power button and controls, zero dead pixels, rich colors, works great for my games.

Cons: My only con is I turn my monitor off via the power button on the front. When I turn it back on an on screen display (showing my connection type) comes on for about 2 seconds that covers a small portion of my screen momentarily. I've played with some of the settings but haven't found an solution. However its a very very minor con.

Other Thoughts: I originally bought the HP L2445w which was fine but had some noticeable dimming due to changing my viewing angle. It was enough to cause me to return it and step up to the LP2475w, which I have been extremely happy with. I use my monitor for photo editing, browsing, and quite a lot of gaming. This monitor has been excellent for all of those uses.

Rating + 5 Great Monitor

Pros: No Dead Pixels, sharp as a tack, good color rendition after calibration. USB Ports on monitor allow me to not stretch the calibration cord.

Cons: Will give you a suntan out of the box. Power LED is like a green laser, but can be shut off. I guess it's a little clunky, but I don't care.

Other Thoughts: I had to upgrade my old video card after installing this monitor, running this and a 22" TN was too much for the old girl. Other than that- all is good. 2 Days from Newegg - they rock!

Rating + 5 Great Monitor but not an Apple Cinema

Pros: Good and even color reproduction, packaging, ports, cables, no lag in gaming, no dead pixels, affordable PRICE.

Cons: No LED backlight, lacks slick design. Best affordable business monitor but it is not Apple Cinema display that I use at work.

Other Thoughts: Great panel but needs a technology and style refreshment. Will buy another one when price drops to mid four hundreds.

Rating + 5 Very Nice

Pros: Great color range, Display Port, HDMI & two DVI ports.
No bad pixels, fine pixel pitch, bright & even back light.
Stable stand.

Cons: None.
Some say price...but you cannot find this quality with Display Port in a workstation monitor at this price.

Ideally it would have a minimum refresh rate = 120Hz, but none are on the market at this size/resolution.

Other Thoughts: Would do it again, and suggest you do the same.

Rating + 5 Love it

Pros: I spent 6+ months reviewing monitors and settled on this one and I am not dissapointed. I use it primarily for gaming but wanted a monitor well suited to other things such as working with photos. Good sturdy stand, easy to set up, good all around monitor.

Cons: A bit more expensive than other monitors out there, but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Delivered quickly, no dead pixels.

Rating + 5 Excellent Monitor

Pros: Easy set up, no problems when started up. Superb Color, so much so that I did not calibrate it until my Spyder3 Elite arrived. Color and Contrast, etc now are even better. Moved from Viewsonic VP2030P to this,
best move up in years.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: After reading the reviews here and else where decided that my best course of action was to make sure I had access to a Color Calibration Device, that is the main reason for the Spyder3 Elite. Now I will set the Viewsonic up and use the Spyder to see if I can get it tweaked even better. Using a ATI 4770 based PCI-E 16 card with this monitor. May go to the 5770 to run 3 Monitors. Would by this Monitor again.

Rating + 5 Best graphics monitor for the price - hands down

Pros: I am a photographer, and this monitor is my best friend. It has incredible color rendition and viewing angles that blow every other monitor under $1000 out of the water. I don't have to worry about looking straight on in front of the monitor, and I don't get the annoying color shifting effect when I rotate it into portrait orientation.

The stand is sturdy and stable, the monitor moves easily up and down, twisting, or turning into portrait mode. It all works just as it should. Plenty of great connectors, including USB ports, make this a great piece of hardware to have on your desktop.

HP's customer service has been absolutely unbeatable (see below).

Cons: I got this monitor and it made an intermittent buzzing noise that didn't sound promising. It also had occasional artifacts on the screen (digital noise, strips of color etc.)
I called HP support, and after going through a few simple options, they offered to replace the monitor. I expected to have to ship it to them and wait for a replacement, but instead they sent a new monitor by courier directly to me, and the guy came in and swapped the monitor out for me. No waiting, no packing, no fussing, and no cost to me whatsoever. Wow.
The replacement does not make the noise or have any problems whatsoever.

I don't know if HP supports all of their products so comprehensively, or just their "professional" line, but I have to say that I will give HP products an advantage in any future product comparisons that I do because of this amazing customer service.

Other Thoughts: If you are a gamer, you can definitely find faster monitors for less money - the cheaper LCDs use TN technology, which is much faster, but has poorer color rendition and especially poorer viewing angles (don't believe the numbers - look for yourself at how colors shift when you view a TN monitor at different angles).
That said, 12ms (6ms GTG) is still pretty good - better than anything on the market only a handful of years ago, so it's not bad for gaming or video either.

I HIGHLY recommend this monitor for any photographers or anyone else who cares about viewing angles. You won't be disappointed.

Rating + 5 it's a peach!

Pros: Besides all the 'Pros' mentioned previously, I'll add that it will work on the older Ergotron extension arm. I was concerned because Ergotron had downgraded the weight limits for the unit I'm using, and it was extremely close to (maybe even over) the weight limit. But it seems to be OK, and it definitely makes it a lot easier to access all those video & USB ports.

Cons: Not cheap. Kind of an industrial/20th century look.

Other Thoughts: I searched & researched for a couple of years looking for a replacement for my Viewsonic 930b(?). I'm glad I found this (& had the money to buy it at the time).

Rating + 5 Wonderful and Logical Choice

Pros: IPS panel for less than $1,000 and provides good viewing options for pros.

The DoubleSight 24" IPS is discontinued, the Dell 2408wfp is S-PVA and is hard to color balance. The Apple 24" is 300USD more expensive. Honestly, if you wanted a pro or semi-pro monitor for work and didn't want to spend over $1200 for an NEC, what other options do you have? At this price range, the panel alone makes it worth it. Are there things that can be improved? Yes. Does the lack of these improvements make this monitor bad? No.

Cons: I wish the stand was a little better. Other than that, it is a solid monitor - I can't really complain at all.

Rating + 5 Wonderful for Photoshop

Pros: Great size, price, options, but most of all it is very calibrate-able unlike most LCD's i have run across. The color looks very true to my prints after a run with the i1 pro.

Cons: can't afford two. :)

Other Thoughts: This monitor is not too bright if you need a good monitor for color managing photos this is a great choice.

Rating + 5 Fantastic for the price!

Pros: If you are looking for something reliable in term of color fidelity and not crazy expensive compare to the big names out there, you should consider this monitor. I do a lot of Photoshop/Printing and correct and consistent colors are my need. This monitor deliver the quality and accuracy you find in more expensive panel. It comes with every single connection you can image and a very nice "Quick Select" feature right in the front that it makes my life easier when I switch between pc and mac. I also do some casual gaming and I don't notice any problem

Cons: It runs hot, or at least, there is quite a bit of heat around me!

Other Thoughts: I was looking for a monitor could help me in color calibration and performance without killing my (poor) bank account and this monitor deliver outstanding performance. I can print with no problem: what I get it's what I see in the monitor. I also suggest the ColorMunki for a cheap and reliable color calibrator device.

Rating + 5 great

Pros: this is a great monitor. the picture is just about perfect right out of the box at its factory default settings. no calibration needed. games look great, photos look great. perfect size screen. shipped fast. no changing tones and colors when i move to another position.

Cons: takes a couple minutes to warm up after it has been off for a while, not too long though. kind of big and clunky. price, although i got it on sale.

Other Thoughts: Even though it is expensive it was worth the money. A million times better than tn panels.

Rating + 5 Thanks HP Engineering!!

Pros: Quality - you pay for it and then you don't regret it. This monitor is so good that I don't know how I worked without it before. Don't know which is better: the display or it's mechanical properties. The stand is the best there is, imo, which makes a huge difference over the life of a display. All controls are easy to understand - custom color settings is the best. Play with it until your eyes/brain are totally happy. Worth the extra $$$ for picky users like me. Thanks, HP.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: You won't look back and say "Gee, I wish I hadn't done that!" Also makes you want to upgrade your graphics card(s)!

Rating + 5 Cheapest 24" IPS monitor for sale

Pros: IPS panel. Fast refresh. No color shifts due to viewing angle. Cheap for what you get. Quite. Good menu structure, easy to use. Comes with all cables, including HDMI. Stable base with all possible adjustments. USB ports on the side.

Cons: Not sexy looking. No speakers. No integrated card reader.

Other Thoughts: Make sure that you do not get a cheap TN panel. You cannot use them for text. Light leaks around the pixels. Colors shift violently as your viewing angle changes, dark becomes light, light becomes dark. For TN panels, viewing angle is listed as 160-170 degrees, but in reality, it is more like 60 degrees max. Homogeneous view is impossible to achieve with a TN panel when you're looking at a 24" monitor from 2 or 3 feet away. 24" TN panels should not even be available for sale.

You need PVA or IPS panels. This is the cheapest one you can get.

Rating + 4 Excellent monitor when it finally worked.

Pros: Beautiful colors. Great viewing angels. Plays games and movies just fine. Excellent for photo editing. HP has wonderful customer service when needed (explained below).

Cons: Still has green to pink hue stock. Puts out lot of heat. You really need a calibrate or colors are too saturated.

Other Thoughts: I bought one afraid of getting the green to pink hue that many people were reporting. To my great luck I did receive such a monitor. After calling HP on a Thursday, they told me I could be having someone stopping by in the next one to two business days with a replacement. Someone from HP showed up the very next day. Dropped off a new one and took the old one back. The second one also had the same problem. Not as bad however. I read online that if you let the back panel get some back light hours it goes away. I let it run for 60 hours with no results. I called HP trying to find a solution. They have an automated responds from customer service. Go to the red custom color and turn it down. The problem is I need 6500k white balance. All this did was turn it another color. I got the Idea to turn all the colors to 150 and calibrate from that point. I no longer have any color casts. Monitor looks great!

Pros: The best photo editing monitor I have ever owned.

Cons: Very expensive, but the quality is worth it.

Rating + 5 Great monitor

Pros: Great color accuracy after calibration, viewing angles are stellar, backlight consistency is very good. A wealth of connectivity options. Great ergonomic adjustments.

Cons: A little backlight bleed, but this is only noticable when you're displaying a pure-black background. When watching a movie or playing games, however, I do not notice it at all. Input scanning takes a while (maybe 20 secs)

Other Thoughts: After calibration with my Huey Pro, colors are spot-on. Includes pretty much every cable you'd need. Takes a while to get used to the OSD since there's only one button to both cancel and confirm menu selections.

Rating + 4 So far, a great "budget" monitor for photography and design

Pros: Absolutely beautiful color reproduction

Really easy on my eyes; after a full-day tiring out my eyes on less superior monitors at the office, I can use this one at home and my eyes feel great

Out of all the monitors I've used, this one has the best menu design (a godsend when you must constantly make minute changes during a calibration)

Pretty high (elevation) monitor stand; good for those who don't like to slouch

Really great size / resolution; I'm spoiled by two monitors at work (although inferior quality) and usually loathe working on one monitor, but this one is big enough to make it possible

It's available in matte, take THAT Steve Jobs!

Cons: Definitely not the nicest industrial design; the monitor itself is fine (square, black, plain...a little bit thick, but I guess that's what you get with the better LCD panels), but the stand is pretty chunky...not a deal breaker by any means, but it would be nice if we weren't ashamed to put our monitors on our counter tops

Text isn't STELLAR...I really wish this baby was a higher DPI, but even if this is a lot of money, it's still not enough for high DPI + excellent color

Other Thoughts: Buying a monitor without being able to experience it first hand was/is risky. I took the chance because I knew NewEgg would take care of me if I didn't like it.

But with this monitor, you can breath a little easier.

It was definitely worth the price (the fact that it's easy on my eyes ALONE makes it worth it, needless to say the color is great--normal, non-professional people notice it!).

It's not getting 5-stars, however, because it's definitely not PERFECT. The industrial design is the main fault.

Rating + 5 Great Monitor!

Pros: Great color, wonderful height/tilt adjustments.

Cons: The USB hub is not the best.

Other Thoughts: I am a graphic artist using this as my main display. This is a very good alternative to other IPS panels costing twice as much. For commercial graphic arts this monitor is perfect. With my huey color calibration this monitor gets me very very close to true color accuracy. We handle small business/consumer graphic arts so there is no real need for insane accuracy. Nevertheless, I think that all the color accuracy talk goes out the window the second you use multiple printers for your work.

This is a wonderful monitor and the best "bang for your buck" in the industry.

Rating + 5 Great H-IPS panel for the price !

Pros: Color quality & great view angle: 8 bit H-IPS panel (compare to normal 6 bit TN)

Response time is good for this kind of panel

PLENTY of IO ports (all cables included): Dual DVI, Display Port (!), HDMI, component, S-video, composite

6 USB ports totall (2 on the right side of the monitor)

Great stand, pivot, rotate, etc...(u can do everything with it :)

Reasonable price for good panel

Cons: This monster releases lots of heat, so make sure place it in a well ventilation space :)

The power L.E.D is small but super bright, so maybe some ppl hate it (but not a problem for me)

Other Thoughts: My screen came in good condition: no bleeding, 0 dead pixel, pretty even light (maybe i'm lucky, but Thanks newegg !)

I'm using Ez Color Suite (the software + OPTIX xr hardware) to calibrate this baby :)

Please, guys, if u buy this kind of monitor, calibrating is a must !!! The factory setting will blind u xD

Make sure yr graphic card has enough power to run 1920x1200 res. My GTX-260 55nm runs fine :D

No regret whatsoever for buying this product (can't believe I said that to a HP product :P)

Pros: Size, low cost for an ips panel, viewing angle is insane. great for graphix work. Ive had this for 6months and there's no bleed whatsoever. The guy who wrote that must not have set it up well.

Cons: A bit difficult to calibrate out of box. By default its far too bright. Its thick and the stand is not very sexy, but don't let that stop you. This is an awesome deal. I never thought I'd own an HP monitor until this came out.

Other Thoughts: ..looking forward to affordable led ips panels someday.

Pros: This is one beast of a monitor. The picture quality lives up to the hype. I did about 3 months of research on different display types, resolutions, etc. and kept seeing this display in the convo. so I finally decided this was the one.

Cons: None

Rating + 2 2 TIMES HORRID backlight leakage

Pros: stunning picture, if you don't notice the problems. mostly will see at night. nice feature set with some nice software and features.

Cons: i got 2 with a bad backlight. newegg would not return the first one because it didn't have any stuck pixels. hp did replace it but the 2nd one actually had worse backlight then the first. it was horrible on the top left and center, unwatchable.

Other Thoughts: unbelievable that in todays society a perfect backlight on a lcd is about impossible to make. i am actually in the market now for a new monitor, i am going to throw this one in the trash since hp won't replace it twice. newegg rocks, but NOT with their monitor return policy.....:( next one will be through my work, costco.....:) probably going to try a samsung or dell 30 inch.

Pros: It seems to be the least expensive 24" 1920x1200 *-IPS panel. Viewing angles, colors, responsiveness, connection options and overall features are pretty great. I can connect both my desktop and laptop through DVI, and (when using the laptop) adjust the height so that it is right above the laptop screen, giving a very comfortable dual-monitor experience.

Cons: I wish the stand could go a little bit higher for more flexible adjustments in portrait mode, but since the monitor is a widescreen, it is possibly too much to ask. It would also be nice if PIP was not limited to analog inputs.

The brightness was set to 90 out of the box.

It may be necessary to manually select an input if the monitor went to power save mode and you connected a new device to it.

Other Thoughts: It did not occur to me at the time of purchase, but sitting at a regular distance from this monitor can give better viewing angle and image quality than an average movie theater. While I realize this is not considered to be a "gaming" monitor, games do in fact look very good on it.

Rating + 5 Drop dead gorgeous!

Pros: No dead or stuck pixels. Awesome color and image quality for art student on a budget. All around improvement coming from Viewsonic 2025wm.

Cons: Three specks of dust within the center of the screen, not noticeable enough to be a bother.

Other Thoughts: Dissipate a bit of heat, keeps the cool basement nice and warm.

Pros: Beautiful color, wide array of inputs, and a great stand! I got mine with no dead or stuck pixels. Responds well to calibration, and the features in the monitor's menu system are really great (my favorite is the ability to turn off the power LED when the monitor is on - it's quite bright, and certainly helps).

Cons: If you have the monitor automatically scan inputs every time it is turned on, it takes a few moments. Also, PIP is with analog inputs only.

Rating + 5 Awesome monitor, superb image quality

Pros: Incredible Colors
It makes images look good even if you sit real close to the screen (I believe it might be using an Anti Aliasing trick of some sort)

Cons: Like 99% of all other monitors, its colors need to be somewhat adjusted Mine is set to

R 230
G235
B237

Other Thoughts: Love it, every single popular video input available (except for VGA/D-Sub, whatever it's called).

Rating + 5 Great LCD

Pros: Great value for a good LCD. Features a H-IPS matrix panel for better response on a IPS and almost rivals MVA in color range. I bought 2 since I do a lot of 3D work and wanted great monitors that wouldn’t tire my eyes out or color shift badly when viewed at a different angles. Plenty of inputs on the back, great for hooking it up to a Digital Tuner for TV or BlueRay. Great value and can be debated comparable to the Samsung its more expensive cousin. Consumes ~99 Watts and is very bright (lights up my whole room at night even at 20 Brightness).

Cons: Needs to be calibrated properly as its to greenish and red. I use Red 245 Green 235 Blue 242, Bright 20 Contrast 30. Not true wide screen (16:9) its 8:5 (1920x1200, 1680x1050, 1600x1000, 1400x900, 1280x800, 1024x640). Cables that come with it don’t measure 6’ tip to tip (DVI>VGA 70”, DVI>DVI 66”, DisplayPort 79”, HDMI 6’), you might have to buy DVI>DVI dependent on your desk setup. After power save mode you need to enter multiply inputs to get monitors out of sleep mode, and takes awhile to for it to “Turn on” and you may miss the BIOS screen to do setting changes. Response time isn’t as good as TN panels, but it doesn’t have the TN problems. Doesn’t make me eggs in the morning or get me a beer.

Rating + 4 Nice panel

Pros: Seems well made, no noise or buzzing, no dead pixels or flaws that I have found. Crisp and clear videos, text. as bright as you need it to be. More realistic appearance than any TN screen I have seen; seems similar to the Apple displays as far as I can tell, and I prefer the basic black look except for the "silver" base. Also prefer the matte finish, no reflections! Neat little feature - you can turn off the power led - no need for a Sharpie fix. Comes with a variety of cables, HP software that I have not yet tried.

Cons: As others comment, it is not easy to tone down the very intense colors and "get it just right". I have been trying to do so without hardware or Adobe Gamma, and it has been frustrating so far, but I think it is a matter of time or having access to one of these tools. Using an NVidia 9800GT card, i7 920, and Vista Ultimate. I'll update if I get there....

Other Thoughts: Bought to replace a 21" Mits CRT that failed. wish I could get it fixed as that was the best screen I have ever seen to date, but nobody seems to make these. Tried to use my Sony 34" CRT 1080p television (don't laugh) with a DVI to HDMI cable dongle, which might get by for games but not truly useful.
I tend to lean into the screen, where illumination will appear uneven unless one is at least 2 feet back from this one. Also note that this display is bulkier than the TN models of similar size, if that matters to you.
Bottom line - paying a bit more for a high end screen with more capability, my main window into the Internet world, seems worth it. Someday I will go for 30" but this is more than big enough for my current uses.

Rating + 5 Excellent panel for photo work

Pros: After calibration (via spyder3pro and basICColor) a superb picture. Colors, gamma, white point and black level are all spot on. Coming from TN panels for gaming, this H-IPS panel is gorgeous and viewing angle is head and shoulders above TN. After using this monitor for photo editing, then looking at my Samsung TN (226BW) beside it, I now understand why IPS is the panel for accuracy. The HP is much more 3D like, has rich saturated colors, and more realistic.

Cons: Nada

Other Thoughts: If your going to game its fine....obviously not as fast as the Samsung 226BW TN panel, but this monitors strength is in it's accuracy for photo editing. Get a cheap 2ms TN panel if all you care about is gaming.

Pros: Wide is better. Sharp text, Evenly lit (to my naked eye), Vivid colors, Black and white are really good compared to regular lcds, BRIGHT, no banding, no dead pixels

Cons: Costly, but this H-IPS panel is worth it if your current lcd bugs you.

Other Thoughts: Found the article Hose mentioned and those settings work good for me too. lagom nl and dry creek photo were helpful for someone without hardware or Adobe.

Pros: Excellent Color. Not much in the way of cons to this monitor for the design professional

Cons: Gaming, but who would buy this monitor for gaming? I bought it for design, not to play games with it. Better gaming monitors out there for less $$.

Other Thoughts: If you are a design professional and need exact colors, this monitor delivers (with calibration) at 300 cheaper than apple's 24.

Rating + 5 Perfect for the Designer on a Budget!

Pros: Price is definitely the best advantage given how expensive professional design monitors run. Sure you can get a cheap TN panel display for a couple hundred, but I can promise you won't be able to calibrate it like this one. Which brings up the next pro: Calibration potential. The IPS panel on this monitor is able to be VERY accurately calibrated with the right tools. This, of course, is useless if you own no calibration tools and you will be stuck with a pretty rough looking monitor. Wealth of inputs and a very clean design round out the benefits. Oh, and it doesn't hurt that movies and games look pretty darn good on it as well.

Cons: If you are expecting to just buy this monitor and get a good calibrated monitor out of the box, dream on. The reds / greens will burn out your eyes and everything will NOT be color accurate.

If you don't know how to assign custom monitor profiles in Photoshop, you will NOT get color accurate prints. If you just crank your brightness / contrast... you'll probably go blind haha.

If you don't own a colorimeter you are out of luck.

Aside from that, I can't really find any cons... as long as you purchase this monitor with the understanding of what it is.

Other Thoughts: Start from a brightness of 25 and contrast of 85 and your color sliders R:175, G: 160, B:160 and calibrate from there with the colorimeter of your choice. I forget what the stock brightness setting was but it was something close to staring at the sun. Also allow it to warm up for 15-20 minutes as it does have a slight greenish tint till it warms up, for me at least.

Pros: This monitor is very nice for the price. Excellent color(you'll need to calibrate for accurate color). Great viewing angles. Decent pixel response(blurring is there, but minimal).

Cons: Not very sharp up close. Very small images lose detail. Drawing vector lines is not very smooth. Curved lines tend to look very jagged like the pixels are too big and spaced out to make a nice smooth curve.

Other Thoughts: Great monitor for the price. I actually found it on a different site for 50bucks cheaper. I don't think you'll find a better monitor in this price bracket, but I wouldn't recommend it for any small detail work.

Rating + 5 Excellent upgrade from a high-end CRT

Pros: Excellent color accuracy once calibrated. Excellent black depth. Clear, sharp, easy-on-the-eyes text. Very bright. Tons of inputs (DVI-I, HDMI w/SPDIF passthrough, DisplayPort, Component, S-Video, Composite, USB). Very good, functional stand with height, swivel and tilt adjustments. Very good gaming performance with no noticeable input lag or ghosting. Price (relative to other IPS screens in this class).

Cons: Reds are highly saturated until calibrated. In fact, since this is a wide gamut display all colors are oversatured unless color managed. Is this a big deal? If you like vivid, bold colors the LP2475w will suit you well. As more applications (and hopefully the OS itself) become color managed the situation should sort itself out.

Needs extensive calibration for best results. Hardware calibration is recommended but wasn't necessary for me. In the OSD, I changed the color temperature from 6500K to Custom and followed the instructions at TFT Central to tweak the display, downloading their ICC profile and following their tuning tips. I enabled color management in every application possible.

The lower left corner has a slight salmon-pink color tint visible on white backgrounds. This covers perhaps 15% of the display surface and is minor.

Other Thoughts: My trusty Hitachi CRT finally dimmed and needed replacing. For a long time I held off believing no LCD could satisify my picky requirements of sharp text, deep blacks, rich colors and solid gaming performance. I ruled out TN panels (those you find in most retail stores) because they exhibit such limited/washed out colors, restricted viewing angles and other issues.

It came down to IPS or PVA/AMVA panel technology and the later seemed only average for gaming with input lag concerns. That left IPS and a few models in particular including the NEC LCD2490WUXi, DoubleSight DS-265W, Planar PX2611W and the HP LP2475w. After lots of research, countless reviews and reading thread after thread on Hardforums, AnandTech, and Overclockers.co.uk and considering cost, I opted for the HP. No regrets, this is one great monitor and the pros far outweigh the cons!

While the CRT is still superior for gaming (absolutely no fast-motion artifacts like tearing), the LP2475w met or exceeded expectations.

Rating + 5 Great Monitor

Pros: Great monitor! Great connectivity! Very reasonable price. I have purchased multiple LP2475w's before they were available on newegg. *Monitor saves brightness/contrast/color profile settings for each port*. In-depth, technical review at tftcentral. Displays all of AdobeRGB color gamut, so you can proof on-screen without printing.

Cons: Default brightness is too high.
Turn down the backlight with the OSD, save energy and increase the lifespan of your display. Brightness should be set between 0 and 20 (out of 100) to save your eyes.

Default color settings are off.
Adjust with the OSD "Custom Color" profile and software calibration with your video card or color calibration device with software.

Controls for OSD are not intuitive (+/- buttons).

Other Thoughts: Read the manual. I use a Lacie Blue-Eye Pro to calibrate the color *after* tuning with the OSD. Before purchasing, be aware that this is a wide-gamut display capable of rendering more blues and greens than typical RGB displays.

I have not installed any of the HP software other than the driver through the windows Device Manager so I can't comment on the bundled software. I've had terrible experience with the bundled software for HP printers so I have avoided this. Update your display card drivers if display is not detected/waking up properly.

Rating + 5 UNBELIEVABLE monitor

Pros: top of the line h-ips panel, no stuck pixels, perfect backlight, stunning out of the box picture, if a little bright. this monitor is silly awesome. i sure hope that TN panels will go away soon, because when you get a taste of either this panel or a s-pva like my older dell, you have to wonder why people accept the totally terrible display quality of ANY TN panel

Cons: price is about all i can think of. no beer holder.....:)

Other Thoughts: gave the wife my 3 year old dell 2407wfp, which STILL holds it own, but it can't compete with this monitor. it is brutal. yes the colors are a little bright, but wow, you have to see this monitor to really understand how good it really is, but i don't nitpick fine little details. i am actually going to keep it stock and let it break in before i do any research on calibrating it.....:)

Rating + 5 A Photo Editor’s Dream

Pros: Finally, an IPS panel at a reasonable price. It is so nice to be able to move your head side to side without getting an obnoxious color shift. Easily calibrated with my colorimeter. Quality build, the stand is stable and I can connect two computers and easily switch between them. No dead or stuck pixels.

Cons: Not really a con, just something to be aware of. This is a wide gamut monitor. Meaning it is capable of displaying a wider than normal range of color tones, much wider than most monitors. This monitor's gamut is equal to or greater than the Adobe RGB (1998) gamut. This will be most noticeable on red colors displayed in Windows. Color management is important with this monitor.

Other Thoughts: A colorimeter, like a Spyder2, is required to calibrate this monitor for use with color managed applications like Photoshop and Elements. Firefox (and other color managed browsers) can be set to properly display sRGB tagged images so the colors display properly on this monitor.

Rating + 3 Overhyped and with SERIOUS issues

Pros: Excellent ergonomics, all connections you'd want, strong colors, no dead pixels

Cons: Colors are oversaturated and you can't really adjust them from the OSD. The monitor buttons are almost seamless and in a semi-dark room you can't distinguish among them. The buttons are also misleadingly labeled - the "-" button goes up and the "+ button goes down (you need to mentally think of them not as "-/+" but as "down/up" - note the reversal from the common arrangement).

OSD functions like "Color Saturation" and "Color Tint" are disabled when using a DVI cable.

The "HP Display Assistant Utility.exe" software created odd conflicts when my laptop was connected to another HP LCD monitor and I had to ultimately uninstall it.

Picture-In-Picture only works for analog connections.

The bezel is black, which appears to make the edges of the screen darker.

Ultimately, the monitor is annoying to use for office work.

Other Thoughts: I have an HP L2335 at work and this HP LP2475w at home, both connected to an HP docking station into which I plug in my HP/Compaq nc6400 laptop. The 23" one is *much better* for office work (software development, spreadsheets etc.)

I've NEVER had to tweak anything on the L2335. It's just set to sRGB, brightness 20, contrast 87, and I work with it 10 hours per day without any problem. However, I can't say the same about this HP LP2475w. The problem is that colors are OVER, and I mean OVER, saturated. The little RED page search box in Firefox JUMPS in your face. In movies, you can see clearly that flesh tones are not natural.

Since the OSD was quasi-useless, I tried using HP's "Display Assistant Utility" to calibrate the monitor but I ended up with a continuously flickering laptop screen and no image on the one of the monitors. Ultimately I had to uninstall the assistant and reboot.

(!) The OSD has a blatant typo: "Currect" instead of "current" (input).

Pros: -Great LG IPS based panel, similar to the one in the iMac
-Outstanding 8-bit Color
-Extremely Bright (Can be bad to some)
-No speakers (Can be bad to some)
-OSD OMGGGG!!!!
I'm new to the whole high end monitor thing, I have never spent more than 400 on a screen before this one, but the OSD is AMAZING. It is highly customizable with tons of in Depth Features. POWER LIGHT DISABLE IS FRIGGIN SWEET.
-CABLE MANAGEMENT. Has some impressive cable management built into the stand (granted you don't have too much plugged into it) and built into the monitor for a webcam or a mic that would clam onto the top.
-INPUTS. This thing has a ton of inputs, 2xDVI, HDMI, DP, YPbPr, Composite, S-Vid, and a 6 port USB hub!!!
-High Quality Stand. Not anything insane, but does everything you would want in a stand and even comes with a little tray for trash to collect.
-PIP .Pretty cool feature if you have a cable box hooked up, customizable positions and size, as well as POP (side by side).

Cons: -The PIP is ANALOG ONLY. In the OSD you can change b/w only component, s-video, and composite. I haven't checked to see if you can have PIP for an analog while using an analog.
-GLOW. In low light situations, darks on the screen can have a glow on them when viewed from semi-extreme angles. This is the difference b/w this one and a 1000 dollar NEC.
-GAMING. (not really a CON) I gamed Halo 3 for about 4 hours tonight on this thing to give it a good test drive. The size/brightness/color depth of this monitor make it almost an unfair advantage against others with crappier/smaller screens. Only problem I can see is that the response time is a little bit more laggy than in TN based panels, not a huge difference but a little noticeable.
-SETUP. Out of the box it's picture isn't that great. First thing you need to do is switch the Color to Custom and leave it or tweak it a tiny bit, this will really bring out the colors and brightness. Then turn contrast/brightness down a tad. Suits m

Other Thoughts: I am coming from a Viewsonic 20" with an MVA panel. After a few weeks of comparing the different 24" TN based models made by Acer, Asus, whoeverelse, I found all of them to be extremely disappointing in person. TN panels of this size are terrible at delivering consistent lighting and color throughout the screen. It's tolerable on smaller screens (I work on two 19" TN panels at work), but on a screen this size it's hard to find a good spot where the entire screen looks good. So I finally decided to drop down the extra dough to get an IPS based panel and so far I don't regret it. You get what you pay for

I highly recommend anyone who is on the fence about buying an IPS vs. a TN at 24" to just go for it. It's not worth spending 300 bucks only to leave yourself unsatisfied with a TN panel. Spend twice the amount and get twice the benefit.

Rating + 5 Thing of beauty!

Pros: Tack sharp text, rich detailed images, deep saturated colors. Best viewing angles (horizontal and vertical) of any monitor I've seen.

It is really quite easy on the eyes. I average well over 8 hours a day writing code, doing documentation, spreadsheets, etc., and debugging chips with logic waveforms. This has cut way back on the eye strain.

Complete set of connections: 2xDVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, S-Video, RGB Component, and Composite. Plus, DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort and USB cables included.

Cons: The software crashes on Vista Ultimate x86_64. Thankfully, none of the s/w was really needed because ATI's Catalyst Control Center (using an ATI Radeon 4670) has all the needed function already.

The stand tries to make up for its low weight with extra width. I would prefer to see a smaller heaver stand like some other monitors I use. The center of the base forms a dish for USB keys, loose change, etc. - a nice idea that is difficult to see in pictures.

All the other LCD monitors I have used, including an LCD TV, pale in comparison.

Other Thoughts: Zero dead or stuck pixels (phew). But, do your heart a favor and dust off the display before looking - mine had a few tiny bits of packing-material dust that initially looked like dead pixels.

Ordered Saturday with 3 day shipping, arrived Tuesday in excellent condition - Newegg rocks.

Rating + 5 Good product in limited market

Pros: The construction is stable and sturdy. Design is very modest, which is a plus to me. Picture is sharp, easy on the eye after calibration. Brightness is even.

This monitor has an H-IPS screen. This means there is no problem of vertical viewing angle, which plagues the TN panel. Sharp horizontal viewing angles have silvery overcast. There is no back light leaking. The monitor is quiet, and it does not produce excessive heat with appropriate brightness setting.

This monitor is fast enough for gaming. Just be sure you have a video card that will run your games at 1900x1200.

Colors are very accurate after calibration. Photographers-enthusiasts will be pleased, when editing their pictures.

This is a wide color gamut monitor. It is a plus if you take pictures in AdobeRGB and print them with your printer. Otherwise it is a con.

Cons: This is a wide color gamut monitor. It is a minus if you are using applications, which are not color aware. PC games will have oversaturated colors, as well as pictures in almost all web browsers.

Other Thoughts: Wide color gamut is still a pain. Let's hope future Windows will be fully color aware. Gaming industry should notice this technology as well. Otherwise this is a great value.

Pros: The color reproduction is near perfect when calibrated. Even before calibration its incredibly good. Ghosting is non-existent and input lag isn't noticable. I use it for MMO's and FPS's. Never an issue. Make sure your video card can handle the 1920x1200res.

Cons: Would sometime cause issues with my resume from sleep mode with my ATI 4870. Haven't had the issue lately so it may have been the video driver. Monitor would take longer than my 20" Dell to turn on and would become my secondary monitor because of it. No longer an issue.

Other Thoughts: I spent months looking for a IPS monitor and was not looking forward to spending $1200.00 on a NEC monitor. I waiting just long enough and found this monitor on a UK review site. Had to order from HP directly as the EGG didn't have it yet. This is literally the best 600 I have ever spent. I cannot say enough about the monitor to how pleased I am. Also ZERO dead pixels.

Pros: See my review above.

Cons: The HP driver for this monitor (both the version on the included installation CD and the newer version downloadable from the HP support website) DOES not play well with Windows. It wouldn't install at first, and the error messages generated by the MS operating system after the failed installation attempts weren't helpful. Ultimately, I had to Google the problem and found that many people with this and other HP monitors had been experiencing the same problem for quite some time. Eventually (and luckily), I came across a successful workaround on one of the tech message boards. I forget which one, unfortunately.

I'm not sure if the fault rests with HP or Microsoft, but I also have an HP All-in-One office machine, and I've encountered driver problems with that, too. HP seems very slow in writing good drivers for Vista -- particularly Vista 64-bit, which I run.

Still, I'm not going to downgrade the monitor based upon a driver issue, because it worked with Windows' plug-and-play dri

Rating + 5 Great monitor!

Pros: This is great IPS-panel monitor. It's pricey, but at $600 it's still half as expensive as comparable IPS monitors (such as those made by NEC). In addition, it has all the newest interfaces (HDMI, Display Port), which the comparable NEC monitors lack. It's very adjustable in terms of height, stilt, and swivel, and can even be turned from wide-sceen-landscape to long-screen-portrait view. Excellent viewing angles and consistency of the picture across the screen. Almost no back-light bleed -- better than a comparably sized TN panel. It's terrific with text, which is very important to me for my business uses. It's also great with photos and video. I'm not a gamer, so I can't comment on the adequacy of the panel speed from that persepctive. The build quality is superb: sturdy; clean lines; well-placed control buttons; small, unobtrusive on/off LED. The base of the monitor is heavy and wide, so the monitor is very stable,

Great product!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Just keep in mind that this monitor is BIG, and not just the screen size. The base is wide and it sits the screen abount 9 inches forward from the back of the base (and away from the wall, if that's what it's facing from). In other words, it's not nearly as "flat" as most flat-panel LCD monitors, although it's not as deep as a similarly-sized CRT monitor.

Not a con, but it will benefit from adjustment by a colorimeter. I'm going to buy a Spyder 2 from NewEgg sometime soon.

I'd been waiting for an IPS panel in an affordable price-range and I'm glad I did.

Rating + 4 Caution when buying Monitor!!

Pros: Fantastic text! Good detail. Decor nice, quality built and adjustable stand. Nice menus. This is the very bottom limit for an acceptable 24" monitor.

Cons: Having difficulty toning down colors enough to be realistic, also short on brightness, and contrast adjustment doesn't do anything.

Other Thoughts: The S-PVA panels have more brightness and contrast, and would recommend over these IPS panels. TOTALLY AVOID THE NEW "TN" PANELS (160* VIEWING ANGLE) - THEY ARE DISCUSTINGLY HORRID - REALLY!!! Can't believe they market them. You need to spend $1000+ for a good 24", you will not regret it! (I paid $20 for a 5 year old replaced surplus 19" NEC from work that was markedly better than two new TN panels I recently purchased and returned.)

Rating + 5 Very satisfied

Pros: We have been using this monitor for about 3 weeks and are very happy with it. Unlike somebody said here, the text is extremely sharp and easily readable (Ubuntu 8.04) in native resolution 1920x1200@60Hz. The color reproduction is very good as well compared to my Sony Trinitron CRT monitor. The monitor is very sharp. The stand is easily adjustable and very solid. The monitor doesn't take more space on the desk then it needs to. The built-in USB hub is very handy. I also like the 3 year warranty.

Cons: I wish it is cheaper :-) but it is worth every penny so far.

Other Thoughts: Some reviews specify that this monitor has VGA connector. It doesn't, the reviews may have been reviewing European model. It has though two DVI-I connectors and comes with DVI-A -> VGA cable so it can be also used with graphic cards that have only VGA connector.

Rating + 5 Awesome LCD!

Pros: Great quality, comparable to the Dell LCD's. I upgraded from 2 Dell 2001fp's to 1 of these badboys and keeping 1 2001fp as a second monitor.

There is a real noticeable difference in the color between the HP and the Dell's, the HP shows color much closer to how it looks when i print out my photographs, i'm going to have to re-edit all of my prints with this new monitor!

Text appears nice and sharp, blacks and whites are great, and no issue with ghosting when i play CS:S, it's minor but i'm not that picky. If i want better gameplay i'll just switch the screen over to one of the 2001fp's.

I haven't had a chance to try all the inputs and options, there are certainly plenty! There is also no annoying heavy power adapter, just a regular power cord that plugs right into the back.

Cons: USB ports are not on the side like the dell 2001fp, but maybe thats not a CON because if you have these side by side it's probably better they are in the back.

Other Thoughts: I used the settings posted by the comment below:
Brightness = 17, Contrast = 65, RGB, 251/235/242

it looks good, sometimes i bring the brightness up to 100% when i am getting a lot of sunlight in the room.

Rating + 5 As good as it gets?

Pros: Big & Beautiful! Full complement of cables. Rotation stand. No stuck pixels.

Cons: None, but I would like to have had a glossy screen option. They’re the best where glare and reflection can be controlled.

[Wasn't room in "other comments", so included here]...

Newegg should revise its “Egg Rating System”… so that one could leave a “defective unit” post but not as an egg rating. Rating a defective unit as “1-egg” adds nothing to the objective. Reviewers should post their eggs and comments only after determining their unit appears to work properly. We consumers want to know how good a unit is… its pros and cons… if a unit is defective, why should it be “rated” at all? And perhaps another option should be added… the ability to edit or change a prior egg rating and to explain why.

Other Thoughts: 1. One prior poster complained about the text. His must have been defective, mine is sharp and clear. Other posters mentioned, “gets pretty warm/runs hot”… mine does not…. same as other monitors.

2. TFT Central used hardware calibrator and said, “Best black depth of any IPS panel we’ve tested (.17 nits)”… and “… Best color accuracy of any monitor we’ve reviewed…” They list the calibration settings as Brightness = 17, Contrast = 65, RGB, 251/235/242. That looked good except it appeared to be a little too much red, so I toned it down a bit.

3. I have an older Planar 24” with IPS panel, and it’s very good…. (that model has changed and is now made with a TN panel… yuk!... but at least they dropped the price to reflect the lesser panel)… They’re quite comparable, but I think I like this HP even a bit better.

Rating + 5 Great monitor

Pros: IPS panel, 8 bit, price for IPS LCD technology, pretty much everything about the image quality. Did not disappoint with my switch from CRT to LCD. Comes with HDMI and DisplayPort and other cables. No dead pixels.

I game, watch DVDs, etc with this and have no issues with ghosting or input lag.

Cons: No ATW polarizer which creates some white glow in the CORNERS or at severe angles with BLACK images and your room TOTALLY dark. With normal or even low room lighting, blacks very black at all angles. This was a minor disappointment.

No 24, 45, 72Hz, etc. input (I think - I really haven't tried forcing a 24x Hz signal to it yet).

Wasn't on Newegg when I bought back in November.

Wide color gamet can cause issues for some people.

Other Thoughts: Just read the reviews from places like TFTCentral or Prad. I even used this with my HD cable box (via HDMI cable) and it totally blows away my Sharp Aquos TV.

Rating + 1 I gave up on this monitor.

Pros: The monitor is extremely beautiful and usable for every day photo editing and movies after calibration.

Cons: My first one from another merchant had a pretty big piece of dirt or dust between the backlight and the screen in the center of the screen. I sent that one back for an exchange. My second one had a pretty big piece of dirt or dust on the left side. Neither had any bad pixels. Both had pretty severe color gradients from left to right. The right 3 inches of both monitors were much darker than the rest of the screen.

Other Thoughts: The text on these monitors is extremely atrocious and although you get used to it after a few HOURS, the next morning you are reminded how bad the text really is. My 20/20 eyes just kept trying to refocus all the time and it gave me headaches. I really couldn't put my finger on what is wrong. Its crisp, but makes your eyes continiously refocus. If you put it side by side with any other LCD over $200, you realize just how bad the text really is. NO cleartext tuning even made it bearable. I tried to live with it for two weeks, but simply couldn't take it anymore and returned it.

If you are only going to use it for photos, then I would highly recommend it. If you are going to use it for text at all, then run run away.

Rating + 5 Best BARGAIN Monitor Currently Available !!!

Pros: This is a true H-IPS monitor -- the LCD panel that photographers, videographers & pro graphics people covet -- for hundreds of dollars less than is usual for such quality. Fantastic color reproduction (Dell, eat your heart out!). Add to that, it has all the ergonomic and convenience adjustments as well as connectivity for just about any standard currently in use. Did I mention that it includes ALL the cables? This monitor is an absolute STEAL at only a tad over six bills.

Cons: I haven't found one yet.

Other Thoughts: Seriously, for the money spent, monitors just don't get better than this one. Nothing else comes even close for less than several hundred dollars more. I bought TWO (directly from HP before the EGG began carrying them) and am driving them with a silent, passively-cooled, Gigabyte GV-R485MC-1GH ATI Radeon HD 4850 video card. It's monitor & video card nirvana!

Rating + 5 Great Low cost H-IPS panel

Pros: This panel is incredibly low cost compared to other color sensitive panels, and yet, with the proper calibration performs pretty similarly. Decent pixel response and somewhat low input delay makes it very usable as a gaming monitor as well. Someone posted before that IPS is slower than a typ TN, but that isn't true. IPS is usually faster than a typical TN, but the fastest TN panels are faster than the fastest IPS panels. TN panels usually have awful color though, and always have bad viewing angles.

Cons: Default calibration is way off. If you're considering this monitor you probably have a calibration kit anyways, though. Pretty decently power hungry so it gets pretty warm. Not the best gaming monitor, but that's not really what it's for.

Other Thoughts: A monitor like this normally goes for a thousand plus, so this is a steal.

Rating + 5

Pros: Excellent adjustability. The stand adjusts vertically. The screen tilts fwd and back and twists side to side.
The screen has exceptional viewing angles.
OSD adjustments are top notch and the screen calibrated easily with my spyder2pro.
Comes with every cable you will need. (hdmi, dvi, vga, display port, usb) It even comes with a soft cloth to clean it.

Cons: The monitor gets kind of hot and it is not necessarily cheap.
These are not really con's for me but they may be important to some people.
I have read that the H-IPS screen has a slower response time than your typical TN panel. I don't really play games but video plays good and smooth. Also this monitor is not the ideal resolution for 1080p content due to its 1920x1200. HD still looks good though.

Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor after my viewsonic vp2130b bit the dust. I can't afford the high end Eizo and LaCie monitors but I feel this is a good substitute. I also bought a 24" samsung T240hd and I was so dissapointed with it I returned it.

Rating + 5 Much better than a TN display

Pros: Excellent color reproduction, far superior to a cheaper TN display. Has lots of adjustments and many inputs. Small defects are common in LCDs, but mine came without any stuck or dead pixels. Supports true 1080p HD if you want to use it for video.

Cons: Price compared to other displays of its size perhaps, but you get what you pay for and this is a quality monitor.

Other Thoughts: This is the first IPS display I've owned, and it is gorgeous. I didn't realize how much of a difference the better color accuracy would make. The picture-in-picture feature seems neat but "gimmicky" and probably won't get much use from me. I don't do any gaming on my computer so I can't say how well this monitor would handle a gamer's needs. For graphics and regular desktop use it is wonderful though.
