Great buy
Pros: Great quality, projecting on a wall so this little thing is making a 135in tv
Cons: waiting for the bulb to burn out
Other Thoughts: I'm using this with my computer and ps3, couldn't be happier!

bulb blew after a week of use..
Pros: beautiful picture, easy to set up. great interface for video settings.
Cons: my bulb blew out after a week. RMA'd to newegg. waiting for a verdict.
never left it on for more than 8 hours.
Other Thoughts: if this is a sign of Optoma quality, then i would look for a different brand. it is possible it was damaged in shipping though. i will update this review if it is replaced and works well.

Excellent Project, Incredible price!
Pros: -Enough hook-ups for all your stuff. -720p -1080p. -quiet -short throw ratio is awesome for a dorm room.
Cons: Nothing big: the buttons on the top of the projector can be annoying to use to navigate through settings if you misplace your remote (oops).
Other Thoughts: Shop around before committing to buy this beauty. I found it cheaper on other sites.

Great Picture, Great Value
Pros: Cost - This is my first HD projector, and I was ready to chalk up $1.5k for one when I stumbled upon the HD65. Getting a great 720p picture for this price is amazing!
Picture - While this does not have a 1080p picture, most people really can't differentiate between 720p and 1080p so for the savings, it's TOTALLY WORTH IT. All I can say is this picture is awesome! Once you play games or watch movies on a HD projector, everything else just seems inferior.
Size - This thing is way smaller than I expected (guess I could have looked at the dimensions...) but that's great. Very portable.
Cons: It does not zoom in a whole lot, so if you have limited space not great. But really who buys a projector unless you have a room big enough?
My roommate is always in our living room using it.
Other Thoughts: This projector is really only meant to be either set on a coffee table, or ceiling mounted. The angle of display works well for these options.

feeeeeels like the first time, like the very first time
Pros: I literally cannot believe how fabulous this picture looks! This projector just replaced my long used Sony VPL-PX1... the bulb in that retired one lasted well over 4000 hours and is still going, but I had to jack up the colors to get anything barely acceptable anymore.
This HD65, however, blows me away. So bright even in a fully lit living room! The depth and clarity of colors, contrast, and brightness are enough to fool my eyes into seeing 3d depth in my 100" wall screen.
I cannot believe how small this pj is compared to my prior VPL-PX1- It's just soooo tiny and so powerful!
The digital keystone is so handy, I have this mounted on a shelf behind the the couch and had to put a book and a few cd cases under the back of the projector to get it to aim down and fill my screen correctly (with the help of keystone to fix my new weird angle).
The price for all of this is just stunning too.
Cons: So far (only 5 hours in right now), none.
Other Thoughts: This has been the most aggravating shipping experience with newegg ever- I simply fail to grasp why my package moved at geriatric-on-a-walker speed and then stood still in California for days and days and days. Then when it finally arrived today, the newegg box was crushed to bits because it was not packed or taped properly! However, the smaller Optoma product box inside of that was very stout and not damaged at all.
I personally would have ordered from a certain online store named after a river and would have had this in hand in about 2 days, for free shipping.. but they didn't have any in stock and I wanted this NOW :P ah well.
That shouldn't reflect poorly on this item, of course.

Great enrty level HD projector
Pros: A very good entry level hd pj that rival others at a higher price point.
Offers lumens which are closer to stated ratings vs others.
Good black levels
Covers the spectrum for input devices.
Some say the fan is "somewhat" nosiy, which it is not.
Amazing pop and clarity right out of the box.
Many mounting and config., ie. table top stand with adjustable legs, ceiling, either front or rear of screen positioning.
Will project screen size of up to 350 inches.
Adjustment for keystone and provides for a wide varity of adjustments, ie. cinema wide, ratio aspect, overscan, and edgescan to name a few...excellent here.
Good upscaling
Backlit remote.
Small.
Cons: Not really a con as this an entry level HD projector, be aware no lens shift and manual zoom. For larger sized image appropiate distance required, can use a projector calculator.
Other Thoughts: For anyone seriously considering a pj, you can not go wrong unless you are susceptible to RBE. This is my first experience with a pj and I have yet to be affected by RBE.
There's a good source of info via a thread which about every topic has been covered on this pj. But one has to to search on the net and the knowledge gained is purely technical so educated decisions can be made. Any questions posted and someone always shares there tips, insights, and knowledge.
Go Newegg :)

Beautiful
Pros: Looks great in all lighting. You can see everything crystal clear in our daylight basement with the blinds up.
Cons: Anything standard definition is a little blurry but still looks pretty good.
Other Thoughts: Be sure you measure your pitch. Luckily it worked out for me but this unit doesn't give much flexability with pitch distances.

GREAT PROJECTOR
Pros: I don't know where to start, i guess ill start here. Everything you can think of for a great projector is this one. I haven't had one problem with it yet, it has great picture, awesome brightness , it isn't even a challenge to watch this during the day. If anyone is looking for a projector out there , this is the one to get for the best buck. It is well worth what i payed GREAT FOR GAMING AND MOVIES.
Cons: The only Con i can think of, GETS HOT!!!!! word of advice invest in a small fan of some sort. Obviously projectors get hot, but this can heat my room kinda nice in the winter lol.
Other Thoughts: GREAT OVERALL PROJECTOR BUY IT!!!!!

Almost great
Pros: Worked great...nice picture, pleanty of brightness and nice compact size.
Cons: Didn't work long. Less than 30 hours and nothin but a red light.
Other Thoughts: RMA to Newegg in the AM. Hopefully I'll get something back by next weekend, have a big holiday party and no screen to show the movie on.

AWESOME!
Pros: AWESOME! Almost at movie theater ;) And, it is so easy to setup: just plug the HDMI cable (bought for 20 bucks) - then the projector will automatically adjust to the computer resolution. The HD DVD are so great with this projector. You can also play game in full screen: just AWESOME!
Cons: Just the resolution limitation to max 1280 by 720. Don't expect too much from video lower than 1280 by 720; this projector gives its best with HD videos in term of picture quality - the image is just so perfect. The light bulb will die after 2000 hours, which is not a lot; so you need to think about buying one every year.
Other Thoughts: No more need to buy a big flat TV - which takes lot of space, and is heavy to carry around.

Pros: Very good picture quality for home theater use. No noticeable delay using Wii or Xbox 360. Some people complained of noise, but I find the unit to be very quiet, especially when mounted near the floor.
Cons: Lens zoom/angle is not highly adjustable.
Other Thoughts: I have this projector set up to throw onto a queen sized sheet (about 116 inch widescreen). It looks great during the day with the windows closed and phenomenal at night.

Great Buy
Pros: Great Picture, easy to use, very nice remote i didnt even know it came with that makes doing anything on it easy.
Cons: little pricey but what do you expect for a high quality HD projector? cheaper than a HD TV
Other Thoughts: didnt know to make it go to 348" you actually have to have it project very far away. at about 12' away from the wall it shows around 60" on a 16:9 setting. even zoomed in.

Big, Beautiful Picture at a Low Price
Pros: Bright, sharp, colors very good at default setting.
Cons: A bit loud, though it's a low-pitched sound, not an irritating shine. Gets pretty hot, but that's what projectors do.
Other Thoughts: It may be possible to get an equally brilliant 720p picture at my projected 5 x 9 feet for a lower price, but I doubt it. Bottom line: this is the first high-priced item I've bought where I do not experience any buyer's remorse at all.

Big, Beautiful, Portable!
Pros: Lightweight, easy set-up, excellent picture quality. The 110" diagonal we can project on just our living room wall (no special paint or screen) has great quality. Its fan is very quiet and seemingly unobtrusive. Very easy to operate and the remote control lights itself up (for those who use projectors in the dark).
Cons: It was a bit washed out with the lights on and the window blinds open, however, still viewable. It would be nice to have more lumens on a projector of this caliber and specification. Very little negative thoughts about this projector.
Other Thoughts: We set this up in our living room to view movies (not using it as a regular TV) and each night it's almost like going to the movies. No noisy talkers, people texting on cell-phones, crying babies, etc. If you have the space, there is nothing like turning your living room into a theater. (We have ours plugged into a DVD player and the audio going to a simple home stereo system.) BTW, the money you save buying a movie when it hits the streets on DVD and saving the rest you would have spent on paying more for a family of three at the theater could be used to save for this projector.

Friggin huge!
Pros: This is really a quality product. Quality construction, quality features, and most importantly a quality picture. I'm amazed by how well it scales different inputs and makes them all look good. It does an excellent job of upscaling 480 inputs, and also downscaling 1080. The only time I've noticed any loss is when downscaling my PC from 1080, but you can still read even small fonts just fine.
Cons: There really isn't much bad to say about this thing. You can hear the fan, but it is not loud enough to be a problem, and I have it right next to my head. I'm a quiet freak (I refuse to buy a gfx card with a fan on it) but this projector doesn't bother me, just to give you an idea of my standard of quiet. Also, the remote has the evil ultra bright blue LEDs that are on every electronic device nowadays. If you look at it in the dark you won't be able to see for a while, haha.
Other Thoughts: I was once a boy with a dream: A dream to one day lay in bed and play games on a massive screen on my ceiling. And now that dream has finally come true, and it's everything I ever hoped it would be. Seriously, it's so awesome!

Forget the "little" HDTVs, get a HUGE screen!
Pros: Beautiful picture from almost every source I've put into it, XBOX 360 is Gorgeous (accepts 1080p input signal through VGA cable), HD movies are spectacular (picture is sharp, detailed, and very life-like), even standard def. dvds look very good. Even played from notebook's VGA output to watch Instant download movies from Netflix and it looked great. Brightness levels are surprisingly good, even in a room with lighting (ceiling fan lights did wash the picture out a bit, but still watchable). I project onto a plain, white painted bedroom wall, and the picture is still unbelievable.
I planned on buying either a 50+ inch LCD or DLP HDTV, but after reading many reviews (and watching some youtube vids) I decided to give this little gift from heaven a try, and I'm glad I did. The screen is HUGE and BEAUTIFUL.
Cons: Table top mounting makes it easy to setup and go, right out of the box, but the odd under surface makes for difficult alignment in certain situations. The one height adjustment leg underneath seems off center and tends to make the screen go lop-sided. If you need to mount higher (as in my situation, I mount on a shelf just above head level while seated), you'll need to prop the rear up quite a bit to get the screen to throw low enough, depending on your projection surface location. The lop-sided tilting occurs in this situation as well. Nothing difficult, just takes a little time to get it just right.
Other Thoughts: The massive picture, incredible clarity, nice color reproduction, and extreme portability (very lightweight, could be carried in a backpack) make this a MUST HAVE alternative to the old "stuck in a box" LCD, DLP, and Plasma HDTVs. I never realized how small my old 50" RCA HDTV is, until after watching my 100"+ projected screen, WOW! If you're considering a projector, and have a large enough surface to project onto, you can't go wrong with the Optoma HD65.
