Awesome buy
Pros: Huge viewing area. I have just recieve it today. Plug it right up and was blown away. There was no dead pixels. The build in camera was a breeze to install and works really well. I didn't use the speaker cause I have my own 5.1, so I'm not sure how they are. Also newegg delivered in 2 days.
Cons: none so far.

Beautiful, crisp, reliable monitor
Pros: This monitor produces the most vibrant colors out of any monitor I've ever owned. On Vista 64-bit, it is quite a treat. The size is perfect--not too small, not too big. Everyone who comes into my room compliments how nice of a picture my desktop looks. No dead pixels. No problems or any issues with the monitor component. Love this monitor!
Cons: I did not buy this monitor for the camera component and do not care about it. I tried to install the software once and received an error upon trying to open it. I don't care to use the camera so I never tried again. This is not a con for me, but it could be for someone else.
Other Thoughts: I have never bought an ASUS monitor before, but know and love their motherboard products. I was trying to decide between ASUS and LG (LG is much more known in the monitor market and I have one of their LCD televisions) and am thoroughly satisfied with my decision to go with ASUS.

Nice Monitor
Pros: I mainly purchased this monitor to replace my huge 19" CRT which was taking up way too much space on my small desk. Now I can put my keyboard on the desk too! The picture is nice, the response time gives things a nice zip to them, and the webcam is a nice bonus just wish it had a built in mic. No dead pixels, sexy physique.
Cons: The usual that comes with having an lcd. Slight backlight bleeding but that's always to be expected. Getting the color and gamma to your liking can be a bit tricky but I have no other lcd's to compare it too. Seems to have a small color gradient if you look at it real close, but I'm really just nitpicking here.

Can't stop drooling
Pros: Price is phenominal, packaging is great, most bang for buck of any monitor when I purchased it, the front of the monitor is waterproof so the drool the visuals cause doesn't harm it.
Cons: My keyboard isn't waterproof (joke)
Other Thoughts: Fair warning, if you play Crysis on high settings with this your eyes will melt from the sheer beauty.

OK, for the price...
Pros: Looks awesome(but only after lowering the video card's gamma setting). I love the webcam (installs automatically with updated xp or vista). Good screen for office apps, reading, web browsing and picture viewing. The desktop looks great (after several days of adjustments). Games look good in the highest resolution (if you don't mind playing at 60Hz refresh rate).
Cons: Decent monitor but: The factory color adjustments are way off; took several hours to adjust, and I had to use the video card's color controls, since the monitor's brightness adjustment seems to interfere with its contrast and vice versa. Also, in some situations, the colors are easily washed-out when displaying certain highlights.
Other Thoughts: The backlight bleeds-out at top and bottom (a bit distracting for movie watching). DVD Movies look a bit noisy, dark and sometimes devoid of detail, especially in dark scenes (with latest of the 'two mayor brands' of video cards). Except for the standard mode which works well for me, all other scenery modes make the colors look weird.

A Delight
Pros: Brilliant, flawless picture. Great webcam. Switch from DVI to VGA without KVM. Excellent pre-defined user modes. Webcam software worked perfectly with Windows XP Pro SP2. Was shipped fast- ordered on a Wednesday expecting to recieve it after a three-day weekend and recieved on Friday. ASUS + Newegg, quality as expected.
Cons: The webcam's angle cannot be adjusted, and the stand's height cannot be adjusted, which, in my case, makes it impossible to center myself in the picture without akwardly tilting the screen.
Other Thoughts: I was originally planning to get a similar model without a webcam, but this model had free shipping at the time of my purchase making it slightly cheaper. After owning an ASUS F3KA Notebook for half a year and making constant use of its webcam, I was very happy about this. I have been using ASUS products for 5 years now and they have all been of outstanding quality and had a lifespan far beyond expectation.

Certified for Vista
Pros: Forgot to mention, although this page does not say, the ASUS website does specify that this monitor is Certified for Vista.
Cons: Web page needs update to show that the monitor is Certified for Vista.

Awsome!
Pros: Out of the box, ZERO bad pixels, none dead and none stuck. Great picture. 5000/1 Contrast and 2ms response time give a deep rich color saturation and I have seen no tracing or blurring so far, but I have not tried really fast action movies or games yet. Slight anti-glare coating on the screen, but it does not seem to wash out the picture like some other anti-glare surfaces.
Cons: I never hooked up the speakers as I have a nice 5 speaker surround system with subwoofer that I'm sure the built in speakers can't match. However, for the same price as the 1000/1 contrast ratio 5 ms model, the speakers just came along for the ride. The web cam works but didn't flatter my face, need to try and improve the lighting.
Other Thoughts: Originally reluctant to order a monitor without seeing it in person, and bought a G...... brand monitor at a local retailer. That had a glossy screen and a nice picture, but also had several stuck pixels. The medium intensity blue one near the bottom I could almost overlook, but the full intensity red one at eye level was just flat out annoying. Took it back, tested the new replacement at the store, and it was bad also. Got my money back and bought on-line from Newegg. Have an ASUS Motherboard and ASUS DVD-RW drive, and nothing but quality from either, so I expected and got good quality on this monitor.
Just wish I could have justified the 24" ASUS monitor at this time.

Great Monitor
Pros: It is HUGE. Extremely easy to setup. Once i found a decent desktop wallpaper that was 1650x1080, i realized just how excellent the picture quality on this monitor was. Arrived with no dead pixels. Definately an upgrade from my 19 inch
Cons: a small amount of light bleeding at the top-center just below the webcam, doesn't really bother me though.
Other Thoughts: the webcam quality seems to be so-so, however since i didn't really buy it for the webcam, its not a big deal.

Best of the Best
Pros: Crystal Clear, high quality, an excellent, well made unit. Significantly better than Samsung & LG monitors.
Cons: Price
Other Thoughts: I paid about $70 more for to get the Asus comparing to Samsung equivalent. I own an Asus Z801 cell phone, Asus laptops and plenty (about 15) of Asus motherboards to know the quality speaks for itself. But must it cost so much money?

Simply Amazing Picture
Pros: This monitor is really nice. I just had to hook up and go. Everything looks very beautiful on it. Playing around and adjusting the monitor was a breeze. The best thing to do is keep playing around and adjusting to you find the setting you like best. Which for me standard settings is all that is needed and the picture is breathe taking and graphics rock ! Great monitor for gaming. I even have the speakers hooked up for extra sound. The cam on it works and looks great too.
Cons: There is nothing that I have found wrong with this monitor.
Other Thoughts: I would recommend this monitor to anyone. It looks awesome.

Brilliant
Pros: The contrast ratio makes a huge difference, and the "Splendid" modes surprised me in how useful they are. I use this monitor for just about every facet of computing and I am perfectly happy with it. I previously owned another monitor of similar specs, and believe me - the contrast ratio is worth it.
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: It is beautiful for games - hopefully it will stand the test of time.

amazing monitor
Pros: Amazing contrast and the quick response time, great for gaming. The viewable surface area is very large and crisp. The webcam and built in speakers are nice additions, and both work well.
Cons: Difficult to turn the volume up and down on the built in speakers.
Other Thoughts: Bought this monitor to replace my old 22 inch CRT behemoth (it weighs 75 lbs). I love, I'm an avid gamer and have always disliked LCD monitors, but this one has turned me around. The picture is crisp and the color is amazing. It saves a lot of space on my desktop as well. I'm glad I invested in this, it's well worth the 289 I spent.

Whoa
Pros: Very high STATIC contrast ratio. Its frigging 22" wide screen for your computer! Very nice, bright the colors are good. and its a flat screen! Love it over the CRT.
Cons: The only issue I have is that on the desktop, the lettering seems to be blurry or the shadows behind the lettering (icons, words etc) are very strong and seem blurry.
Other Thoughts: The gaming on this thing is awesome. I have a 5.1 surround sound system with my PC with the SB X-Fi extreme sound card and gaming and movies are simply amazing with this monitor. All in all you get what you pay for and I got my $289's worth with it.

Pros: First off, great price. No dead pixels. Beautiful picture, VGA and DVI support. All cables included that you need. Easy set up, plug and play and off you go. Webcam works fine for me. You must have Vista or windows xp service pack 2 for it to work properly.
Cons: None so far besides taking up alot of desk space but who cares.
Other Thoughts: A few have stated this is not a gaming monitor but I beg to differ. It has really brought my WoW to life. Almost feels like I am playing a whole new game now.

Simply amazing.
Pros: This thing is huge and its contrast ratios mixed with response time make it excellent for gaming. Is it just so shard and well huge, Did I mention it was huge?
Cons: Well maybe the fact after you use something of this size you will never be able to look at let alone use another monitor without getting angery and saying wow this thing is small(in reference to the other monitors not this one)
Other Thoughts: It had no dead pixels per say.. I had a stubborn one however... Neon green showed up twice and I rubbed the spot and it went away and has not come back since. Get this monitor you will not be disappointed. My fiancee wants one now :P

Awesome
Pros: This monitor is amazing. I migrated from a 17" CRT that I've been using for about 6-7 years. This is absolutely great for gaming. I played Counter-Strike Source and World of Warcraft on it and they both look amazing. Everything is amount this monitor is crisp and clear. The web cam seems to work pretty well although I don't really use it much.
Cons: Bleeding at the top but it's not really even an issue and I barely even notice it.

First Impressions
Pros: Makes a great monitor at a great price. I said it was average because it is not the best out there.
Cons: No dead Pixels but there was 3 off colored pixels in a row that are barely noticeable. The brightness and contrast leaves a bit to desire. Not very good black levels. The edges of the screen in a decently lit room shows some back light leakage. Left to Right gets a red tint to it. Looking down gets a blue tint and up gives an uneven lighting appearance but from all angles the picture is clearly distinguishable.
Other Thoughts: Using it on the PS3 as a monitor in otheros mode leaves about an inch border of the screen unusable for some reason. Looks great playing the games on the PS3 and playing HD video. Works with my PS3 in 1080p good, but on my laptop on full res, it has a interlace style effect as if 1680 x 1050 is not the native resolution. Maybe something other than 60Hz changes that but my laptop can only do 60Hz.

Pros: High contrast ratio, plenty of configuration options, no dead pixels.
Cons: 75hz not available beyond 1182x864, so the monitor is pretty much useless for gaming.
Also, brightness is not consistent throughout the entire display - the top and bottom seem to bleed a little. This is mostly noticeable when displaying darker pictures.
Finally, there is visible color banding in animated gradients. Ex: when Windows fades from login screen to desktop, it's particularly obvious.
Other Thoughts: Perfect for everday desktop use, and even for design work. The larger workspace is great.
DO NOT BUY THIS MONITOR FOR GAMING. Find one that supports above 60hz at its native resolution.
Also, the KWorld TVBox that I ordered with this as part of a bundle was reportedly shipped WITH the monitor, but never actually arrived. At least shipping was fast, though.

Good Deal
Pros: Excellent monitor. Great for gaming, and for the price, it just can't be beat
Cons: There is slight bleeding on the top, only visible when the screen is dark near the top. Barely noticeable, and it doesn't bother me. Also, I have XP Pro w/ SP2 and cannot get the webcam to work. Tried both the CD and their site. Doesn't bother me any, as I planned on buying one without the webcam.
Other Thoughts: Make sure your graphics card can handle this if you are into gaming. I play COD4 and had a 17" CRT before that netted me with 40-90 FPS with my EVGA 8800GTS 320 MB at 1024 X 800. Now with this, it chokes out anything above 1280 X 800, even after OC'ing the CPU, RAM, and GFX card.

Spectacular
Pros: I was upgrading from a 17" Samsung, not a cheap edition either, but a rather high end LCD. THis monitor is absolutely amazing. The clarity, brightness, contrast and on and on and on are simply tops. I have not yet hooked up the cam or speakers because I really dont plan on using them at all. However, I will do so in the future and add additional if warranted.
Cons: None yet..Not one dead pixel and has surpassed what I expected.
Other Thoughts: Pick it up, for the contrast ration and response time at this price....You simply can't find a better monitor. Did I mention it comes with both a VGA and DVI chord.....

Pros: I have always trusted ASUS products and this monitor only verified my stance even further. The picture is beautiful and it's a great price for the contrast ratio, response time, and the added cam. Pulled it right out of the box and tested it for dead pixels and found none.
Cons: None so far. Haven't had a chance to really utilize the cam so I can't comment.
Other Thoughts: Great buy. I can't wait to use it with my new system.

Good Buy!
Pros: Easy installation and set-up. Picture is excellent and well worth the money. I wish I had one at work to use with AutoCad, lol. I watch movies via the monitor rather than home TV.
Cons: Not much to say eally other than the internal setting for the monitor are a bit hard to understand at first due to the layout of the buttons.
Other Thoughts: WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!

Nice....
Pros: The picture is beautiful. I am moving from a 17" to a 22" and the new real estate is amazing.
Cons: Ive researched for about a week before purchacing this monitor. I bought it for 3 reasons: (1)the size advertized was 16" perfect for under the hutch on my computer desk, (2) response time/contrast ratio (3) accessories like the webcam and speakers. got the box, opened it, and tried to fit it under my hutch and the thing is about 1/8 taller than 16" because of the webcam on top. Then, (after shimming my hutch because I'm stubborn like that)trying to install the drivers for the web-cam and I get a device error both from Windows and using the disk... Further checking and fine print the instruction say that it is only compatable with Windows SP2 (which I dont have because of hardware issues).. go figure.
Other Thoughts: New buyers keep in mind the unit is a bit taller than 16". Other than that, its a beautiful monitor

Outstanding
Pros: This monitor is amazing! You can't get a better screen for the price! Its super bright and crisp. I've been playing Call of Duty 4 on it for the past few days and it looks amazing. I haven't gotten a chance to try my Blu-Ray DVDs yet, but I will update when I do.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: The monitor fits well almost anywhere and is very light for its size, not to mention the fact its from Asus, which means support if needed, you won't be left out in the cold.

Amazing Monitor
Pros: Amazingly crisp and clear monitor. Great design, packaged very well, all cables included, 2ms response time, the 5000:1 contrast ratio, and added things such as webcam and speakers. Normally, if one is to purchase a monitor of this quality, speakers and a webcam aren't needed. But since they don't take away from the quality of the monitor, it's just an added plus. Gaming on this monitor is superb. Playing movies is very nice, as well as just general computing. It makes the entire experience that much better. I highly recommend this monitor. Asus is quality products.
Cons: I had one stuck pixel after I turned the monitor off, then back on for the first time. But it was easily fixed and haven't had anything else since then. Other than that defect that can happen in any LCD monitor, there are no problems.
Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a standard 19 inch Sceptre monitor, and when I used to have the Sceptre I thought the quality was really nice, seeing as how it was my first LCD. This Asus highly surpasses that, and I am blown away each time I look at this monitor. If you're in the market for a large, good quality monitor at an eggcellent price, don't hesitate any longer. Buy this one.

Good monitor
Pros: It has a lightning fast response time, good resolution for a 22'' screen, looks pretty good. Its much slimmer than my old samsung was. The tilt adjustment works how it should. No dead pixels. Sub $300 price point is fair.
Cons: On a solid black screen, on the top and bottom of the monitor you can see white kind of bleeding through. Not noticeable unless its a solid black screen, but if you are ocd, that issue may be enough to drive you away from this monitor.
Other Thoughts: Havent tried the webcam or built in speakers. Seems like just a few useless addons.

Awesome Monitor
Pros: This monitor has great picture and high contrast making it one of the best monitors I have owned. The 1.3M pixel camera worked with no problems. Just had to make sure it was plugged in.
Cons: None so far. I hope it stays this way.
Other Thoughts: This monitor is a good deal and I would suggest this monitor to anyone.

Good monitor
Pros: 1. Webcam automatically works under Vista64 without installing any driver from CD. 2. No dead pixel 3. Packed well
Cons: Too expensive (50 bucks more) for features like webcam, speaks, 2ms, 5000:1? You decide. See other thoughts.
Other Thoughts: I have a CHIMEI 22" CMV221D (also an excellent monitor, bought from newegg), no visible differerce for watching movies, TV sports. Cannot comment on games. Like CHIMEI, this one is an excellent monitor, but you decide if you need the extra features to get this one.

Solid
Pros: Initial reaction is very favorable. No dead spots; Image is sharp; color definition is crisp. Response time is fantastic. Widescreen is the way to go.
Cons: None - although I have yet to mess with the camera. Purchased 2. One of the boxes had damage from shipping, but packaging protected the unit.
Other Thoughts: Switched from an Acer 19" and a projector and must say there is a big difference. No going back. Color definition is much better than the projector. Yellow is actually yellow. Not a dingy variant.

Pleased with this monitor and the price!
Pros: This monitor is a bargain for the price. I'm impressed with the multimedia range. My games and movies look great. There is enough room to have side by side spreadsheets for business. It arrived without any bad pixels and came packed very well from the manufacturer. The pixel detail is high for what it cost.
Cons: I didn't need the web cam addition. However, if and when I do it's there. From what I'm reading Asus needs to get the software straightened out. I have not installed the software, so I can not comment on that at this time. If you don't need a web cam just get the VW222U. It looks like the exact same monitor minus the webcam and you can save a few bucks. This monitor has many modes for gaming, night view, scenery, standard, and theater. Standard is what it is set at at and I don't really see that big of a difference to set it at any of the others. Theater might be the only other I may switch it to.
Other Thoughts: If your upgrading from a smaller monitor, make sure that your video card is new enough to handle the higher resolutions this one offers. On the other hand it might be a good time to improve your vid card too. Prices are dropping on the 8800 series of cards. There are some good deals available.

Replay
Pros: For the guy below me (d10273m) the monitor is definitely not a fake, because if you just did more research you will see that the VK series is in the Taiwan page of ASUS website at <http://tw.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=10&l2=89> As you know ASUS is a Taiwan-based company and seems that they didn't sell a big quantity of this screen in the world and in the United States yet. Also, it seems that newegg is the firs one make this screen available to us.
Cons: if the webcam will work with me I will tell. If it's not I hope ASUS will fix this problem soon.
Other Thoughts: I should receive it tomorrow!

Real ASUS Product?
Pros: Very high quality picture, must change to standard from initial mode though. Otherwise it's just too bright and contrast is lost. This monitor is pretty big, easy to work with, and pretty light for its size. It has a glossy look that is refreshing but sports a frame that seems to be able to take a bit rough treatment so you know it'll last you a while.
Cons: First off, webcam is not working. Why? Because in order to work you need to install LifeFrame(small CD), but once you do, it'll display "LifeFrame can only be used with laptops!" ... huh? You know something is a bit fishy when you see "intall" typo. Nevertheless, the webcam is the only thing wrong with it, I bought it for the monitor not webcam.
Other Thoughts: So long as you are looking for a good monitor, this is definitely the way to go. But the webcam thing stikes me odd. Also note on ASUS website, there are no VK series but VW series. This monitor seems to be a fake, nevertheless is of great quality... besides the webcam
