Satisfied!!!!
Pros: Excellent picture. Great price. You can never go wrong with that combination. Monitor is great for gaming. Couple this with a high end graphics card and you have an awesome machine.
Cons: Viewing this monster is a bit daunting at times. It is extremely bright. At times I can not see the keys on my lighted keyboard. Also, sometimes the darker viewing areas are too dark. The black colors in a night scenario aare at times non-existent.
Other Thoughts: Overall, great machine. 1080p HD!!! I watch my movies on this thing. I lock myself in my computer room and at times it's hard to get out. If I were to add a bathroom and a small fridge, I would never leave!!!
5 Eggs !!!

This thing is great!
Pros: The screen is huge. It has awesome resolution. I got it as a birthday/xmas present so I didn't pay anything for it.
I just got this screen yesterday but so far I am extremely happy with it.
Cons: Like many other people said, the factory settings were bad but that is easily fixed.
The box was damaged upon arrival at my house but there was no damage to the screen. It was 2 or 3 stuck pixels but I am hoping they will work themselves out.
If you try to connect a dvd player through the dsub port the picture flickers. It might just be my dvd player and/or chords but I am going to get an hdmi switch and hook things up that way. I also need to upgrade my $20 walmart dvd player to an upconverting 1080p player with hdmi output to fully enjoy this monitor.
Other Thoughts: This thing with a 20 inch dell monitor flipped to portrait view is absolutely awesome! It makes for a really great workspace.

Great Monitor
Pros: BIG. Wonderful picture. Nice sturdy stand. FAST 3ms response time.
Cons: Poor speakers. Controls are on the left, and hard to use.
Other Thoughts: Wonderful monitor at ANY price.

Good monitor
Pros: HUGE. Works well with my Xbox 360, the price is amazing
Cons: Speakers are weak
Other Thoughts: If you don't care about the speakers, this is the best bang for your buck monitor out there

NICE........
Pros: Nice and BIG display. Very clear & sharp, and very bright. Just what I was hoping for in a display.
NO dead/hot pixels.....!
Cons: No cons, but a nit-pick: rather annoying pwr & adjustment buttons on REAR of lower right side. They are hard to find, on purpose, but don't make the mistake of reaching over to adjust the position of the monitor while getting 'fragged' or even reading an email .... you will shut it off, or open a menu for picture adjustment! :(
Other Thoughts: I hesitated to spend an extra $100 to jump from a 24" to a 28". I was worth it.
It is super bright...I've adjusted it down to 60%, and still on a white background is rather bright.

Great Monitor
Pros: 100% worth all of the money that I spent on this monitor. I love the size. I switch over from a 22". No dead pixels. Looks good sitting on my desk. very fast shipping. Great for gaming, and watching movies. I would recommend this monitor to anyone.
Cons: Um... it doesn't have a DVI input but I use the hdmi so it doesn't matter to me.
Other Thoughts: Great monitor, and the price has dropped 30 bucks since I bought it.

Treemendous
Pros: Title, bright, colors are good, gaming is awesome, no ghosting, stand is metal.
Cons: Had doubts about purchase because of size and price.
Other Thoughts: This is the monitor for what it advertises itself as:
The perfect gaming monitor!
Sure you can buy a dell503043 for a months paycheck. But why do it?!
This monitor is the ultimate if you want good image quality and size that matters!
Don't listen to all the image blah blah guys. They wanted to spend 300 bux and expect a $1000 monitor.
I spent 300 bux and got $1000 value as a gamer!

31 days and the vertical lines appeared
Pros: Big, clear, bright and the price were all nice before the lines appeared.
Cons: But you get what you pay for. I had mine for 31 days, one day more than the warrantee covered when the floating horizontal lines appeared. The monitor still works but the lines are noticeable and annoying once you know they’re there. So now I am faced with the decision. Do I pay for the shipping and send it back to Hanns to be repaired or exchanged, or do I wait for it to die completely and then send it? Also this thing is big. Shipping is going to cost a lot.

Great monitors no issues
Pros: Great monitor great price, no issues and its been working for on my computer for well over a year. I like the one I had so well I bought a second one for my console systems which has been working great for over 6 months. The second one I bought was a little different from the first one. The display was updated and the look of the stand was a little different but the function was the same.
Cons: Speakers/sound quality is not good on either of the monitors, but I didnt pick it up for the sound.
Other Thoughts: Nice monitors, but the stand isnt the greatest and the sound is poor. The picture is great and for a 1080p price is right.

Pros: I love everything about this monitor.
Cons: Wasn't Free
Other Thoughts: One stuck red pixel, gonna see if I can get it to unstick, but its hardly noticeable even on a solid white screen.

Hanns-G HG 281DPB Black 28" 3ms Widescreen LCD HDMI Monitor
Pros: The new Hanns G HG281DPB is a high-performance LCD display designed to satisfy the needs of high-performance business and workstation users. The ultra high 1920 x 1200 resolution and true 16.7-million vibrant colors on a 27.5-inch viewable screen size, gives you a more enjoyable and relaxed visual experience. With the HDMI connection and an ultra-fast 3ms response time, the HG281DPB offers stunning 1080p digital image quality for HD movies and games at a affordable price in its class.
Cons: Screen moves side to side, bends in and so forth which is great; however, I upgraded from a bit smaller Hanns G that was height adjustable...This one is not!
Other Thoughts: This would be the perfect monitor if height could be adjusted

Awesome
Pros: Awesome monitor. I got it in perfect condition without any dead pixels. Have had it for 10 months now without a single problem and love it. Unbelievable price too.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: It does come a bit bright but that's easily fixed and I like that it can get so bright from those few times your watching or playing a game that's too dark.

Great value
Pros: Very cheap for a 28" monitor. Colors are crisp.
Cons: Needs calibration since it seems a bit over-saturated. Also, the speaker are poor, but can't expect much more for the price :)

Excellent Monitor
Pros: This monitor works really well! For the price it simply cannot be beaten. You may be thinking that this monitor is big and you'd be right! This thing is huge so make sure you have a lot of room on your desk for it.
Cons: There is some slight bleeding on every side of the monitor. When you see a black screen before a game loads or when booting you really notice it. Besides that it's not really an issue.
Other Thoughts: I use this monitor with a 19" Hanns G tilted vertically. They work really well together if you like dual monitor setups. They end up being the same height after it's adjusted vertically. I also use one of these bad boys at work so I probably spend a good 10-14 hours of my day starring into one of these monitors. Like I said, they're pretty darn awesome. As Always, NewEgg's shipping rocks! I got it a day earlier than expected

For the price, it's excellent
Pros: For the size you can't beat the price Was able to turn my 20" Samsung sideways for added screen size Picture is "good enough" for regular tasks A bazillion cables are included
Cons: The max resolution is 1920x1200. At this size things may look a little pixelated. See some "bleeding" on the text at certain color combinations, for instance Classic Mode colors of black text on blue and grey. Speakers are horrible (like all monitors) No DVI input Installation CD was unclear if the only driver (Vista) would also work on XP systems. (It does work on XP)
Other Thoughts: Overall it's hard to complain about a 28" monitor for ~$300 but realize that it's not going to be high-end quality for gamers and digital artists. For the average user it should be fine.
Hint: When pulling it out of the box, tip the box so the "front" of the monitor is pointed toward the floor. It's much easier to unpack that way. Don't worry, the screen is well protected.

WOW
Pros: Beautiful, bright, easy access controls, three year warranty, well built and sturdy stand, has tilt and swivel, Price was very reasonable.
Cons: large frame, runs very warm ( because its 100 watts), tinny speakers but any monitor with speakers are tinny. What do expect for under 2 watts each.
Other Thoughts: Other monitors this size run on a lot less wattage but it seems like Hanns-G make fairly good products. We own three of their monitors (1 hanns-g--25" & 1-inc-25" & 1 hanns-g 28" and so far so good. I like the Hanns-G better because of the three yeay warranty and it seems to be better built.

Great monitor, especially for the price.
Pros: Arrived with no dead pixels. Always a good thing. High resolution. So far I've been really happy with my purchase. Once you tone down the brightness and contrast the picture is amazing. No ghosting. :) I've been playing blu ray movies, working with photoshop and playing high end games on this for about 3 weeks now and I'm very impressed with it. for around $300 it is at a great value. The size seems intimidating, but I got used to it after the first day, now when I work with other screens I don't know how I got by with a smaller monitor. This seems to be a great monitor so far. I was originally going to order a 24", but once my friend ordered his and I actually saw it in person, I changed my order and purchased this. I'm very happy with this purchase.. I almost want to order a second, but that might be overdoing it a bit.
Cons: There does seem to be some bleeding on the bottom, left and right when the screen is really dark, but nothing to really worry about.
Built in speakers are located on the back and they aren't really capable of anything more than regular tasks... Make sure you have external speakers.
Also, my partner ordered one and received it right before mine came in and it had a white line to the far left side about 7 pixels wide from top to bottom. He sent it off the next day and when it was returned/replaced it arrived in great condition.
When they ship the box, they ship it in the full color box. Not brown cardboard shipping box, so make sure it is picked up in person...
Make sure you read the warranty.
Could also use a second HDMI port.

Poor Quality
Pros: Large, bright, high resolution screen works for movies if viewed straight-on.
Cons: Horrible ghosting - no way this is 3ms. Terrible bleed at top and bottom. Viewing angle is really less than 15 degrees before serious color problems occur.
Other Thoughts: This monitor will not cut it for gaming In some environments the ghosting is so bad it's almost unplayable (try Vilverin in Oblivion - you can hardly see where you're going with all the ghosting). Newegg will not do a refund on this thing, so I'm stuck with an expensive monitor I can't use.

Great deal, so-so presentation
Pros: This monitor is a great deal, no doubt about it. -Large screen -High resolution -Great price -Use of wall mount is simple (sold separately)
Cons: Unfortunately, the fit and finish is what hurts this monitor. -I can't complain too much about this, but only 1 Hdmi port -Incredibly bright power LED is a distraction when watching movies in a dark room, I put tape over it -Switching from one input to another is clumsy -Speakers are weak, but thats expected
Other Thoughts: These are nit-picky, the most annoying thing is switching from one input to another. Unless I'm missing something, you need something plugged in to the input you're switching FROM. Otherwise the power LED stays orange, telling you theres no input. So, you have to plug something into one, turn it on, switch inputs, and then use your new device. luckily I'm getting an hdmi switch, and sending one final hdmi to the monitor to support both my devices (pc and ps3)

Huge
Pros: Great picture! Rediculous price. Can't find a TV in 28' LCD so had to get this. No regrets. No dead pixels. Got this after my roomie got one. Great monitor/TV for gaming and hooking my laptop to.
Cons: Speakers are worse than my laptop set. Maybe because I don't have the monitor up against a wall, and the speakers project rearward.
Other Thoughts: Looking for a nice set of noise canceling headphones.

Low Quality Monitor
Pros: Big screen
Cons: Its bulky, heavy, and low quality. It came out of the box with a big vertical white strip and had to return. Get the Samsung 25.5" monitor instead.
Other Thoughts: 1 Egg for the Monitor 5 Eggs for Newegg customer service!

Fixed the annoying whine when looking at text.
Pros: Cheap, looks decent for most things, large, can be used for a gaming system, and is black.
Cons: Their design was quite poor in this monitor, the speakers must have been added later as an afterthought as the screen interferes with the speakers causing a horrible sound when a lot of text is displayed on the screen. I have finally fixed this whine by muting the speakers. Do this to fix yours if you have the same issue.
Other Thoughts: I really wish that they would have designed this product better so that it doesn't interfere with your sanity while browsing the web. But you get what you pay for.

The Hans
Pros: Best value for the size, hans down.
The screen is actually too bright, but since it has a nice menu and it was easliy adjusted it to 60% (Sunburn).
No bad sprites, not one! Never seen that.
Handles all my HD divx videos with perfection.
Swivel base and tilt screen. Oh OH oh.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Well.......maybe its too big......naaa.

Hanns-G 28" monitor
Pros: Sturdy stand, easy setup, great picture, came well packed and in 3 days UPS. Good price. Up and running 20 minutes. Lots of cables for setup. I use it for games and video streaming movies and they never looked so great as now.
Cons: Did not come with a DVI to HDMI cable but I already had one. Cant think of anything else except screen brightness has to be adjusted as it was too bright. Not a big deal.
Other Thoughts: Since this monitor was just purchased and setup, I cannot comment on durability in the future. I am running a resolution of 1920x1200 all that my video card can support. I use my DVI output on my card to the HDMI input on the monitor.

Bang for the buck
Pros: The monitor is huge. The monitor is cheap. The monitor accepts VGA and HDMI. The monitor has a headphone jack. The monitor looks sharp.
Cons: Not free. Not a glossy screen. **While no normal person should consider this purchase contingent on expectation of good speakers; the onboard speakers SUCK. So, its not a genuine con for the intelligent. The reason I give this 4 eggs is that the asthetic is not like a sony, or a mac. It isnt visually striking. And The buttons are poorly thought out. And As I discovered yesterday, the process of switching from one input to another is a 2 step job. And There are not additional input ports. I get one HDMI and one VGA. I am not my dad, or my grandma; I have 3 computers and a variet of other gizmos to plug in...and I dont like fooling around plugging and unplugging. And There arent USB ports And No accompanying lapdance.
So while you read my extensive list on CONS, note that they are mostly offset by the quality of the product, the size, and the bargain. At the time of purchase , 6/11/09, nothing came close to the size for the cash except another Hans-G.
Other Thoughts: Works with vista without issue. Works with XP without issue. Games VERY well. This was a very smart buy for me.

best deal?
Pros: 1920X1200 native resolution, 1080p, good brightness
Cons: you have about 15 degrees of verticle adjustment. youre going to want to sit kind of low on your desk to see everything straight on.
Other Thoughts: bought dual monitors and now my friends are jealous. fantastic gaming experience.

Hanns G monitor
Pros: Recently put ASUS TV tuner in my PC and wanted a monitor large enough to make better use of it. This monitor is absolutely gorgeous and fills the bill completely. I had anticipated some tradeoffs in regard to pixilation, ghosting, and readability of text, but it turns out that is not the case at all. Viewing angles, sharpness, contrast, everything about this monitor is great. I did have to turn both the contrast and the brightness down to 50%. But I can sit as close to the monitor as I did with my old monitor. This, so far, has been a dandy investment.
Cons: none

Pros: This thing fits my desk perfectly, has good color, and works quite well with my xbox along with my computer. Also no dead pixels.
Cons: Whenever I visit a website with lots of words (email etc) This monitor lets out a very high pitched and annoying squealing. My friend got the same monitor and his does the same thing so it is not just a defect in this monitor. This squealing annoys me a ton and I get by by wearing headphones while at the computer.
Other Thoughts: If it weren't for the high pitched squealing, this would be an awesome product.

Pros: Packaged well to handle shipping. Not a single dead pixel that I can detect. HUGE! It is even bigger than I thought it would be. I bought it for use as my new Xbox 360 and PC monitor and I can't wait to see the look on people's faces when they how awesome this LCD is. No problems with Xbox hookup, just buy an el cheapo HDMI cord and you are good to go. This LCD also looks classy and the whole package has a nice heft to it while not being heavy. Free shipping. If it works as advertised I'll be a customer for life.
Cons: Factory speakers are an afterthought. If you plan to use this for any media, plan to buy speakers or headphones. Ordered on Saturday before noon, received mid-day thursday. Although shipping is free, is was more than three business days. Not really a complaint, more of my lack of patience.
Other Thoughts: For the price I don't see how it can be beat.

OMGosh .... BF2 Weapon of the Year !!!
Pros: Beautiful Monitor ! Outstanding Colors and detail. I'm a 54 y.o. BF2 addict and my Kill Ratio has tripled now. Easy setup, Win7 loaded drivers right away. This cost a fraction of what I paid for my P.O.C. Dell 24" 2 years ago.
Cons: Priced too low... I would have paid twice as much! Wife pitched a fit when she came home and saw the UPS Delivery... I'm now getting kicked off of Servers... they think I'm using an aimbot.
Other Thoughts: Do Not tell any other BF2 players about this Monitor!

YEP!
Pros: Just want to say that I agree with all the pro comments and disagree with all the cons. It is somrthing I had in wishlist for awhile. Finally broke down and purchased it. Should have never waited.
Cons: Had to re-arrange things so it would fit! (Ha Ha)
Other Thoughts: Just make sure you have a GOOD card (video) I got a ASUS 9500 GT. Works well.

Good monitor for great price
Pros: Huge Good Price Nice Resolution
Cons: Had one dead pixel out of the box but i hardly ever notice it. After about a week when I tried the built in speakers they didn't work. Not worth the price of shipping it back because i have other speakers on my desk
Other Thoughts: Other than the dead pixel and non-functioning speakers i love this monitor. Would have given it five stars for sure if the speakers worked.

Outstanding size and clarity! A+++
Pros: Thumbs up to HannsG for this outstanding monitor. I upgraded from their 19" widescreen and was completely blown away with the size difference. Im still in awe at the difference there is in everything I have done compared to how it used to be.
Im not sure what others are talking about, but everything about this monitor shines. I see absolutely no ghosting, backlight bleeding, or even a noticible "side angle blur". If your considering this and have the money.. do NOT hesitate. It opens a whole new window into the way you will use your PC, especially if your a gamer. Astonishingly mind-blowing!! Also arrived with no damage/dead pixels which is always an added plus!
Oh, and ill be the one and only that will praise it for it's speakers.. yeah they are terrible in comparison to pretty much anything else you can buy, but having them integrated is nice if you do happen to move this somewhere and dont have speakers available.
Cons: The only con I can think of is to turn down the brightness if you value your eye-sight. Came out of the box as bright as the sun!
Other Thoughts: BUY IT! The size of this monitor opens a whole new dimension into the world of your computer. it's like comparing looking out an ordinary window to looking out the window on the 100th floor of a building. So much more depth and clarity.
If your considering a bigger monitor, and you want the best value you can get, look no further then this monitor.

Good quality for the price, but...
Pros: Bright display, huge viewing area, good contrast
Cons: 1. Viewing angle is not that good. Because of the sheer size of the screen, subtle grays disappear as you look near the bottom of the screen. The screen is white at the bottom, but slightly turns offwhite / pale yellow when you look up near the top. This is not a backlight, brightness, nor contrast problem; it is a poor viewing angle. If I move my head higher or lower by standing up or sitting down, the problem intensifies or lessens near the top/bottom of the screen. If you need consistent color/brightness across the entire screen, do not get this monitor.
2. The VGA port works poorly. If I connect the monitor through VGA with 1600x1200 resolution, the fine/small text is blurry. If I connect through the HDMI port (via the included HDMI to DVI cable) the text is much clearer. This is not a problem with the VGA cable nor interference, as my 24" 1600x1200 Dell displays perfectly/sharply via VGA. The blurriness is from the poor VGA processor/converter inside the monitor.
Other Thoughts: All in all, it's a good monitor. But I got spoiled with my Dell 24" and its high quality before I got this one. Don't get me wrong, I am keeping my 28" Hanns. For the price, the display quality problems are still worth it.

Yup!
Pros: HUGE. HUGE. HUGE. Picture quality is great. I have recommend this one to several friends who all love it. Around 300 bones? who cant beat that.
Motto: I like my LCDs how I like my women ... HUGE
Cons: HUGE. Must have room for this beast. Other then that no downside on this thing other then I had to turn the brightness WAY down because I was blinded at first.

Wow
Pros: HUGE Great picture compared to other similar LCD's I have. Text is crystal clear which makes this a fantastic monitor for work.
Cons: none that I can see so far
Other Thoughts: This thing is like being at the IMAX. I was pretty skeptical by this monitor considering its price, size, and resolution but I went ahead and bought it based on the tons of positive user reviews. I can say that I'm very pleased so far. It blows away a similarly priced 24" LCD that is sitting next to it both in size and in picture quality. It has an acceptable viewing angle and I see no color or brightness variation from top to bottom. The value on this thing is just amazing.
I like this monitor so much that I just ordered a second one!

Don't hesitate for a second
Pros: Huge. CHEAP! Bright
Cons: They should replace the low quality integrated speakers with USB ports and/or a cheap webcam.
Other Thoughts: If you're like me, you saw the price tag on this thing and you were wary. I got mine today and was blown away by both the size and the quality, low price or not. Colors and blacks are not as crisp as higher end models, but you should expect as much for the price.
The true test of course will be if the build quality holds. Only have had it one day, and will update this review if I run into any problems.

Great Deal!
Pros: Great price for a huge monitor. This is my second Hanns-G monitor and they are quality. No dead pixels, great picture.
Cons: It only goes to 1920x1200, but if you want it BIG! then that doesn't matter.
Other Thoughts: Hanns-G are great value monitors. They may not have all the bells and whistles, but they work and they're reliable.

I want to have this LCD's babies
Pros: Great size color and this thing just looks impressive! Great response time for gaming. Amazing picture and color. I did the Pepsi challenge with and apple cinema display. Dude save yourself $400 and buy this instead. Brighter and way better color.
Cons: Non I can see. HHmmm It wasn't free.. That's the only con I can see.
Other Thoughts: I bought my first Hanns G over a year ago. I have been consistently impressed with the quality product they put out. Hanns G is not a major brand but they should be..

WELL worth the money!!!
Pros: Insanely large with very nice gloss finish! Looks 10X better in person then online. Still waiting for my PC to arrive but in the mean time at least I have something nice to look at! Plus like most others, ZERO dead pixels!
Cons: Base would have looked better in gloss black as well IMO. Other then that I don't think you can go wrong!
Other Thoughts: Just click the purchase button, theres really nothing to think about!

witness the sickness, urself.
Pros: Its gigantic! Made for gaming! (nvida gts250)
I have read reviews saying this monstrous monitor gets hot, in my experience heat is not issue. I have gamed for hours and left on monitor for long periods of time.
All the wires you need and some.
3yrs warranty. Don't forget to register your product ASAP!
Cons: Not really a CON - The monitor coloring, contrast & stuff is not the most accurate out of the box... But if you can tell whether the t-shirt in the picture your looking at should be blue or purple then you should be able to fix it.
Other Thoughts: The best 300 bucks you will ever spend. You will not be disappointed.
Hanns-G is the MAN.

Wowee wow wow.
Pros: As per usual, Newegg's service was second to none. As for the monitor, no dead pixels (which frankly, I had resigned myself to, so what a pleasant surprise), solid picture quality and no problems installing. If this thing cost more than it did, I'd probably give it 4 eggs, simply because there are better monitors out there, but it gets 5 'cause for under 400 bucks, you will not find a better monitor anywhere. Perfect for any budget-conscious consumer and, really, anyone who's not doing some serious graphics work.
Cons: 1: The colours are positively wretched out of the box, and it'll probably take most people several days of adjustments to get it to their preferred settings. 2: Getting my eyes used to a larger range of motion hurt at first. Seriously, make sure you have enough space to set the thing back a bit, at least at first. 3: Makes the old Sharp I was using look like a Stegosaurus.
Other Thoughts: I've always been a bit stand-offish about budget brands, and so I put this purchase off until the investment was low enough that I felt comfortable with the possibility of ending up with something sub-par. But boy did Hanns-G ever prove me wrong. I could not be more pleased with the purchase.

Hyped beyond belief
Pros: Huge screen real-estate, HDMI, cheap
Cons: It is not for high resolution gaming. It's a cheap monitor for internet browsing and office work. The worst problem is backlight bleeding. There is a 2 inches thick white band all around the monitor that won't go away even when the brightness turned all the way down. It says 3ms response time but I noticed ghosting (as others also reported), particularly when playing dark games like Fallout3.
Other Thoughts: I don't know what people find in this monitor. The backlight bleeding should deter any decent gamers purchasing this product.

You get what you pay for
Pros: Visually a great monitor. Large. Very bright, almost too bright.
Cons: Very poor quality. Mine lasted 28 days and then nothing but lines. At first I thought it was my video card, but I changed monitors and all was good again. Hooked it back up and the same thing, all lines. This is a TFT monitor, the lowest quality LCD there is.
Other Thoughts: I would not buy this monitor again at any price, even if it was $50. You get what you pay for. Newegg is great!! They are replacing or repairing it. Be aware that there are no refunds on this monitor, it is replacement/repair only!

Best Value
Pros: Wow! What a huge difference from my 21.5" 1080p. For just over 300 bucks, you can't beat it. Gaming is awesome. COD WaW look great. But I bought it to use for bidding from plans in PDF. My scale lays perfect on the screen.
Cons: None really. A previous comment about seeing pixels might be free if you are sitting real close. probably too close. a screen for watching movies is meant to be viewed at 2-3 times its size in distance. But to me this thing looks great 2ft away.
Other Thoughts: this is the best value going. yeah you could get a 24-25" for a little over half but why not have a monitor bigger than all your friends. size does matter!

Sweet
Pros: big, Big, BIG. It's an interesting thing to find yourself subconsciously turning your head (not just moving your eyes) to see portions of the screen. Great res and response compared to my older Samsung. Colors look true, but I'm more interested in gaming than photo realism. It is very bright out of the box and needs to be adjusted. No big deal. No dead pixels out of the box. No buzz reported by some others. Great price for this much glass. Ordered on Friday, arrived on Monday with free shipping. Is this a great country or what?
Cons: Price dropped $10 day after I ordered. :-<
Other Thoughts: Win XP SP3 E8400 EVGA 790i Ultra EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX 2 Gigs OCZ Platinum DDR3 1600

Priced RIGHT for WHAT YOU GET
Pros: If considering purchase: FOUR things to keep in mind: Screen Size, Resolution, Intended use, & TOTAL PRICE (including shipping charges).
For the price I paid & price range this monitor has been at for the past 8+ months, this is an AWESOME monitor............ for gaming & watching movies. Huge screen, HDMI input is supported by most modern video cards, & those that don't can easily connect with an DVI to HDMI adapter, or DVI to HDMI cable. You could easily hook up a Blu-Ray player & watch movies in your bedroom, kitchen, or bathroom!!!
Easily one of the best gaming monitor for the $$$ VERY BRIGHT, slightly saturated color makes the colors in games pop out beautifully, once you tone down the brightness.
Bought mine in mid August, & there are zero dead or stuck pixels to date!!!
Very well packaged by Hanns-G, the box is very sturdy, with minimum of 2" of foam on any given side which, should protect the monitor from most non-intentional shipping miss-handling.
Cons: Too big for the 1920x1200 resolution. At 27.5" actual, it's big enough that with a really good eye, you can just start to see some pixelation, but not annoyingly so, just have to sit back a little further. Would be nice to see a slightly higher resolution on such a large screen to bridge the gap between 1920x1200 & the 2560x1600 resolution featured on the 30" LCD's. However, doing so would undoubtedly increase the price
No height adjustment with included monitor stand as mentioned by many others...
Not very good for video & photo editing, spent 2 days trying to color match to my printers for video & photo editing, still couldn't get it right & games lost their pop... reverted back to factory settings then re-adjusted for gaming. - 1 egg because you should be able to color match just about any monitor.
Very cheap cables, but at this price point, it's not a big surprise, & connections are lacking just one HDMI & one D-Sub, & the built in speakers just flat out suck.
Other Thoughts: The controls are hidden on the back of the monitor, gives a nice clean front, but are actually on the back Right edge of the monitor, so are not very practical, underneath the center would be more practical so you don't have to have your face so close to the monitor while using the controls.
Would be best to utilize a LCD mounting bracket to position the monitor exactly where you want it, since there is no height adjustment.
This is replacing a professional level $900 20" (1600x1200 4:3) LCD for graphic artists which I will continue to use in my video & photo editing tasks. Though it handled gaming quite well, I wanted a more imersive gaming experience without going the dual monitor or tri monitor route, & the Hanns-G definitely fills that role.
Manufactured June 09, bought Aug 09, so at least I got the latest version (full model # HG281DPBUFN11)... Not a version that's been sitting in a warehouse for 4 years collecting dust!!!

Super Monitor
Pros: HUGE! Fast response time, brilliant colors, superb clarity, sturdy construction, looks awesome. Oh yeah....and it's HUGE! Great monitor!
Cons: Haven't found any yet.

Be afraid...
Pros: A large amount of realestate for a small amount of money. Mine worked great for 2 weeks. The 2nd one has worked great for about 2 weeks.
Cons: The first one bit the dust after only 2 weeks. Newegg wouldn't take it back so I had to ship it to Hanns G myself at my own expense. This is my 2nd attempt with this monitor, all seems to be ok this time 2 weeks in. We'll see how well it holds up and I will post another review after a few more weeks.
Other Thoughts: Shipping to RMA this from KY to CA was really expensive, hopefully it wont happen again.

Too good to be true.
Pros: Massive screen real-estate. Competitive price. Bright
Cons: At first everything seemed swell. The monitor was gorgeous, huge, bright, and shiny. For the first few weeks, I was primarily playing WoW and therefore wasn't really looking at the detailed images being produced. I recently began playing Fallout 3, which features several dark environments, and began to notice a rather alarming problem: ghosting.
I found this rather odd despite all of the other positive reviews and claims of any lack of ghosting at all, but it is clear as a bell on mine. The effect isn't particularly noticeable at all in most movies nor when using a 360, but in high resolution games featuring dark environments, you really start to see it.
I've tried updating my drivers, searching for newer versions of a driver for the monitor (there are none), hooking it up to a different computer, all to no effect. I'm rather put off by needing to pay the shipping costs on a 30lbs piece of hardware, but I guess I might have to.
Other Thoughts: Video card: EVGA GTX 260

You get what you pay for.
Pros: Big honking monitor. Looks decent enough when viewed exactly straight on. Response rate is good and color accuracy better than expected, but takes some fiddling.
No dead or bright pixels on either of the two I have.
Cons: Viewing angles are absolutely awful, the worst I've ever seen on a TV or monitor. You only get about 20 degrees before the screen turns yellow/green. There is pretty much no way you could use this as a media/TV and be happy.
DPI (or lack thereof) is noticable, but this is par for the course on a 27.5" screen at 1920x1200.
It looks like a sad joke sitting next to my 30" IPS. If you've used a quality IPS monitor, you'll be disappointed.
Other Thoughts: As alluded to, this is an ok monitor if you're going to be viewing it straight on. I got two of these to go next to my 30" for Eyefinity and will only be using them for a peripheral view.
Bottom line is if you are looking for a primary monitor, I would highly recommend looking for a smaller, higher quality TN or IPS panel.

Best Purchase Ever
Pros: Just installed it today. Man this thing is huge. I love every inch. It's like a TV. Guess I gotta upgrade the TV now, haha.
It has a sturdy stand and it's not gonna go anywhere. Good tilt. It even swivels, but not completely around.
I had a 17" 4:3 Dell monitor from 5 years ago so adding 11" and making it widescreen was just about the biggest jump I could take aside from using my TV as a monitor.
It's great to be able to use Windows 7's "side snapping" feature and not have the windows squished.
Easy to setup (took less than 10 minutes to unwrap everything and have it up and running).
No dead pixels. Free shipping rocks too.
Cons: The only con I can think of is kind of a joke.
It might be "too big." The box was just a tad bit smaller than the box my TV came in.
Of course in America with screen size, you can never go too big. Just make sure you have the desk space and the will to rearrange your desk if it's a big leap in screen size.
The only con is the painful days you wait for it to ship to your door. The only remedy is set the UPS tracking page on autorefresh every five seconds and leap in the air after every location update.
Other Thoughts: The brightness in comparison to my old monitor is a great leap. I can feel the light on my face and I know I'm glowing. It's kind of cool. And then I looked at my keyboard. In the new burst of a thousand suns it now receives, some keys look a little gross with stuff on them that was undetectable in old monitor light. I think it's a plus, because now I can clean my keyboard off.
Buy it.

best monitors I've ever owned
Pros: * big and beautiful display
* no dead pixels on the two identical monitors I ordered
* I will be ordering two more so I can have two at home and two at work
Cons: These are all just verbose nitpicking, as this monitor's awesomeness outweighs any and all of them. This monitor still gets a 10 out of 10 in my book:
* Plugging in earphones/headphones to the monitor's earphone jack does not shut up its external speakers. I had to go to my computer's Control Panel's "Sound" section to disable the monitor by switching it to my original motherboard's sound from the monitor's (there was a pull-down menu in WinXP), as the monitor's HDMI connection automatically hijacked my sound into its incredibly low-quality speakers.
* It puts out a lot of heat that I can feel when my hand or head is close to the screen. I've never had a monitor this huge before, so maybe this is normal.
* The menu buttons to control video brightness and sound are not intuitive.
Other Thoughts: I'm surprised that a company I've never heard of can produce such a stunning product.

Flawless Hanns 28"
Pros: Best $300 you will ever spend on kit. Visual bandwidth has always been computer techs weak-sister --- but no longer. Oh yeah ... nothing wrong with the base_support or buttons.
Cons: none

Beware: Causes Eye-gasms
Pros: This monitor is gorgeous! 27.5" Great color Great detail even setting close (approx 3 ft.)
Cons: It doesn't transform into a robot sidekick to hang out with at work...
/cry
Other Thoughts: I was worried about the sheer size of this monitor at first, but with so many positive ratings, i took a chance on it and I don't regret it so far. The only thing I still worry about is how long will it last, since most of the negative reviews surrounded the fact that theirs had died after a few months.

Pros: ~ 28" ~ Buttons are placed very aesthetically ~ HDMI with all cables included ~ 1920x1200 ~ CHEAP ~ Arrived with no dead pixels
Cons: ~ Dust magnet ~ VERY easily smudged, and hard to clean. Do NOT touch the screen with your fingers. ~ The base is garbage. If I tap the monitor gently, the entire thing wobbles.
Other Thoughts: I had to butcher my desk in order to make it fit. Sawed off the CD rack and speaker platforms.
MAKE SURE you have the space for it! _______________________________________ About a week after purchase, the monitor died. I unplugged the cables and plugged them back in and it worked--no problems since then (months later).

Awesome Gaming Interface
Pros: Simply Put, Amazing monitor for the price. Image is sharp, crisp and clear. Refresh rates keep up even in the most fast paced games. No v-sync clipping viewable. Works great both with my gaming pc and my xbox 360. This monitor replaced an ailing HD Projector. I am glad to say that it has filled the roll nicely. I was initially worried i would miss the sheer size, but being able to go up to 1080p on the Hanns G quelled that concern. Buy One.
Cons: The default brightness and contrast settings are way off. Softening both results in a much richer image.
Other Thoughts: A true DVI interface would have been nice. Also a second HDMI port.

Good Monitor
Pros: Very good display. No bad pixels. Very nice for games and windows 7.
Cons: Another HDMI interface would have been nice
Other Thoughts: Also have the SAMSUNG TOC T260H 25.5" monitor. Very comparable. I have been building computers for myself and friends for about 10 yrs and would never say that I have a high understanding of Tech since I am always learning with every build.

Pros: Price! For around $300 you cannot get anything comparable. Image Quality. Looks nice, no ghosting, great image. Size! It is HUGE... Makes my 22" and a 24" dell I had look like babies.
Cons: None that I have encountered yet.
Other Thoughts: Love newegg, ordered this and it got here on the 2nd business day with free shipping.

Great monitor, great price!
Pros: Huge! This monitor is a monster and takes a minute to get used to after years of using 19" units. Image quality is great, no ghosting, handles my graphic intensive apps just fine with no dead pixels whatsoever.
Cons: Runs hot. Despite the tiny energy star sticker on the unit I can safely say this monitor is thirsty for juice. Even after only a few minutes of usage, the heat from the screen can easily be felt a few inches away.
Other Thoughts: Upon first use I felt like I'd gone over the top and that the monitor was too big; but after a week of use I've become spoiled and the 19" monitors in my office seem puny in comparison. The only reason I declined five stars was the energy consumption - energy star ratings have recently been revealed as flawed and this monitor is likely a good example of the same.

Really good deal
Pros: Beautiful huge display for a great price! It dwarfs my 20" dell ultrasharp. I didnt get any of the stuck pixels that others have reported. This display doesnt blur and works beautifully. Couldnt ask for more.
Cons: the component to vga adapter does not produce a very good image from my dvd player. Could be the dvd player though.
Would be nice to have had svideo, and or DVI directly on the display. But, it works beautifully with the HDMI.
Other Thoughts: 50% brightness 50% contrast sets this just about right.

Pros: This monitor is just about perfect! its huge, looks amazing! and its fairly cheep! I definitely recommend this for all users, from games to DVDs you wont be disappointed! shipped quick and no Dead pixels! If you're thinking of buying a smaller one cause of the price ill slap yoo! wait till christmas or something but BUY THIS MONITORZ!!!
Cons: Some games cant go to 1920x1200 )= for those i just play in windowed mode >.< and if you full screen videos like on Utube or Hulu they look a stretched even on 480p but other then that theres not a single con!!!
Other Thoughts: Can't comment on the Built-in speakers cause i never even plugged em in, i have 5.1 surround. i rate this 10 eggs!!

Pros: Big. Free delivery in 2 days. Box/monitor in perfect condition. Plugged in, hooked it up to my Dell laptop and it worked. Runs silently with clear picture.
Cons: Actually a little big to comfortably fit onto my desk. My fault, but make sure you have room for it.
My 14" laptop's speakers sound considerably better than the built-in speakers, which are tinny and downright irritating. Not a huge deal, as most people probably use external speakers or headphones. Just weird.
Color out of the box was overly saturated with limited menu options to fix it. Got it looking how I wanted after 10 or 15 minutes messing with my graphics card's settings. There is nothing wrong with the sharpness of the display, but the sharpness control in the menu has only 5 levels and I noticed no difference between them. Maybe it's for if the monitor is below max resolution?
Is too bright a con? I turned the brightness down so it resembles other monitors and now it's good.
Other Thoughts: I don't own any blu-ray movies or super graphics intensive games, so no opinions there.
If my sloppy math is right, generally: 30" = $1 per 1.5 pixels or worse HG281 28" = $1 per 5 pixels 22"= $1 per 8.5 pixels or better
Looking at that, I kind of wish I'd gone with a smaller, cheaper monitor. But I like the resolution/size ratio on this one. It's possible the 1900 pixel width on a 22" would look too small.
I'm a little worried about the long-term reviews saying it has a tendency to break down after the first year. But if it lasts past 2 I'll be happy, and then just upgrade to a $300 30" or a $50 22" or whatever's in my wallet's sweet spot when that time comes.

Good buy
Pros: Wide screen, High resolution at affordable price
Cons: Contrast Ratio 800:1, kind of low, but naked eyes really cannot tell if contrast ratio is higher than 800.
Other Thoughts: Bought this in 8/2009, It's working great so far. Win XP, GIGABYTE GV-N95TD3-512I GeForce 9500 GT 512MB Video card. two monitors.

Awesome
Pros: Huge...Great picture quality that is even better than my Acer 22". It is huge!!!! I run dual monitors and it makes my 19" look tiny. No ghosting in any games. Playing COD WAW i swwear the crosshairs are as big as my hand. Enemy soldiers look huge and are easy to shoot. Great for gaming.
Cons: None. Awesome monitor.
Other Thoughts: Buy it you wont regret it. Best large monitor around at this price.

Excellent deal
Pros: It was an unbelievably a good price for the 28-inch monitor. And the monitor arrived within a three days. that itself was a surprise. But the main thing, it works perfectly. I haven't found a single thing wrong with it. and I am totally satisfied with the monitor
Its wonderful to have this big screen for the price my wife approved.
Cons: None that I could find. No dead-pixels on this one.
Other Thoughts: I am not using this for gaming. I am using this only for stock market tracking tools such as real time charting.

Seems great so far
Pros: It really is quite giant. While it comes a bit bright, after some tweaking it gives a beautiful picture. 0 dents & 0 dead pixels is always a plus. It has a very solid base. It swivels back left and right very smoothly.
I read some user reviews claiming viewing angle was a problem unless you sat directly in front of it. This does not seem to be the case. It works just fine as a TV type display from afar, at any position on my couch. And the picture doesn't really change drastically at more extreme positions. This is all surprising and wonderful.
Cons: It could explode or such at any point, only time will tell...
The speakers are just about as good as my laptop speakers, which is sad and hilarious. I guess i'm glad they're there, but it just makes me think i should buy a receiver & some speakers.
Other Thoughts: This was an impulse buy, and I'm not regretting it so far. 17" laptop sits next to this 26.5" LCD. The difference is fairly astonishing. Plus they're both 1900x1200 native resolution.

Office Use
Pros: This monitor has a number of PRO's. 1) The packaging clearly protects the contents, as the box looked like a tank drove over it (The LCD was fine though). 2) It's a 28" LCD and was still in a reasonable cost range for the size. 3) The base is sturdy. We're talking German craftsmanship sturdy at that. 4) Free shipping on an over-sized, heavy (>20 lbs) product (x2 that I bought)
Cons: This monitor has a number of CON's. 1) While the functionality of the packaging was a PRO, the presentation of a product whose package looks like a tank drove over it detracts from total satisfaction. It makes it look like it came out of a salvage sale, like when a semi is in an accident and the insurance company liquidates the partially contents. 2) While the monitor works, default LCD color settings fail to present a sharp, drool for the product, view. If you want rich, vibrant, accurate colors, there's a great deal of tweaking in both the LCD settings and in the settings for your graphics card. These monitors can be tweaked to get the color though. 3) Text on the display, even at it's "native resolution" -can- be a problem if you just plug it in and expect it to just work. On a Mac running 10.4.11, "Best for main display" font smoothing isn't as clear as manually setting "Best for LCD". On my other LCD's, "Best for main display" looked the same as "Best for LCD".
Other Thoughts: 1) If you are considering a multi-monitor setup, buy a matched pair up front. It will save you the madness when you can't get the exact model later. It also helps get you identical coloration, as batches sometimes differ, even on the same model. 2) I bought a pair of these for my dual-monitor setup. Now I need to upgrade my G5 to a Mac Pro. 3) Remember that some games may run better at lower resolutions, if your system or video card are under powered.

Great Price, Great Monitor
Pros: - Large (28") - Bright and Beautiful - Colors blend well and contrast is great
Cons: - So big I have trouble being to productive!
Other Thoughts: Shipped in about 4 days, thought it might have been damaged by looking at the box. Great packaging though, so monitor is in perfect condition. Easy to setup and install driver for. Took about 5 minutes to do it all.

Amazing value in this
Pros: The monitor is very stylish and has a really good stand that can tilt and turn. The color, brightness, response time are all great. It's not the best if you do intensive graphic design but for a gamer or anyone who just wants a big monitor, this is really great. I play a lot of video games including MMO's, FPS, and RPG and I can tell you that my gaming experience has improved over the previous 20" I had. I especially love it in WoW when using the increased max camera distance switch you can get a whole new perspective on the game. I paid fifty more than the current price when I got and it was a great deal then and a really great deal now.
Cons: The native resolution is of course high, so you should supplement it with a powerful graphics card if you play games. My wife's cat put a nice big scratch on the screen when trying to catch the cursor. Cat's aren't allowed in the computer room anymore.
Other Thoughts: I have owned this since May 2009. I found that I was able to get significantly better performance out of a single GTX 260 at the high resolution on this monitor than I was getting with dual 8800GT's.

Wonderful Monitor!!! Forget Samsung...
Pros: This monitor is excellent, even for it's price range. This thing is HUGE. Wonderful for graphic design, photography, and home recording workstations. I use it for all of them and one thing I can say is WOW!! I recommend to anyone that does professional work. Very pleased...
Cons: Default settings are that of an HDTV, so you may have to lower the brightness/contrast out of the box.
IMPORTANT: If you have an Nvidia graphics card installed, adjust the display settings from the Nvidia control panel. Not the monitor's. You will see a perfect picture...
and oh yeah....mine came with 1 dead pixel in the lower right, but don't worry about it. I'm a person that likes things perfect, but this monitor is so big and the resolution is so high that i only notice it at my boot-up screen when i turn on my computer. After that, i never see it again.

It is HUGE!
Pros: Newegg is awesome, they got me this monitor in only 2 days and I ordered at night!
It is HUGE and bright!
Resolution is greater than HD-1080p (1920x1200). I like the buttons on the side (others disagree) because it gives the monitor a clean look and you can push the buttons with one finger without knocking the monitor over or causing misalignment. No noticeable dead pixels. Includes a HDMI to DVI cable along with several other cables. Fast enough no ghosting is noticeable.
Cons: It is HUGE and bright!
After viewing text on a white background with the brightness maxed out (default setting is 100%) my eyes were fried from the monitor being too bright. Turning the brightness down to 50% fixed that issue.
The HUGEness is kinda cool but it really is almost too big. The hugeness makes low res pictures/videos/icons look like awful. The monitor might not fit all desks or it might be too close to view comfortably on some desks.
Other Thoughts: As someone who paid $550 for a 19" monitor not that long ago, this 28" high def monitor for just over $300 is nothing short of incredible.
Make sure you have room for it before you order.

You get what you pay for.
Pros: Great Price, Big screen, Works great on my PC and my Xbox 360 (love the HDMI). No lag or ghosting in any game I've played on my PC and 360.
Cons: The only thing that worries me is sometimes when I turn on this monitor there will be green pixels all over the screen. This also happens when I change the input on my HDMI switch from one input to another. However when you turn it off and back on the pixels are gone.
Other Thoughts: This is by far a unbelievable upgrade from a 19inch crt monitor and a 27 inch tube tv. The green pixels had me worried but they go away so I imagine its just something I'm going to have to deal with (not complaining). This beats going out and spending $xxxx on a 28inch dell monitor or even $700 on a HDTV that supports 1080P close to 28-32inch. I use this monitor also as a TV in my bed room. I wanted something big but not huge that would make me go blind, I set 5 or so feet form it. Great monitor, if It were stolen I would go out and buy two of them to spoil myself on my PC.... if I had the money. ^_^

this monitor rocks (one caveat)
Pros: Everything about this monitor is awesome. The picture, construction, the menu is easy to navigate, the look, obviously the size and price is unmatched by any of the competition
Cons: only 1 port of each type... hdmi, vga, dvi. I really really really wish it had at least 2 hdmi ports... this is the only bad thing i can say about this monitor.
Other Thoughts: pros continued: the bevel is very nice, smooth and easy to move around, yet firm and doesn't move on you unless you want it to. can angle up and down as well as side to side.

Size matterzzzzz (follow up review)
Pros: Bought this monitor in July '09. . . Have used it every single day and still having no problems at all. This monitor is a great deal for the price. Everyone that walks up to my computer desk in my house is immediately taken aback by the size of this thing. It's soooooooooo decadent. LOL I've been playing "Champions Online" on this monitor and it's really great for gaming. I can see where any of you WOW players would absolutely love it, too.
Cons: Needs more bass in the audio, but you're not going to get any real bass without a bigger cabinet. I added a splitter to my audio output and ran the sound through another set of computer speakers that I already had with a power sub in addition to the monitor speakers. . . Problem solved!!!
Other Thoughts: I like the picture on this monitor more than the TV in my living room.

Fantastic Price!
Pros: Amazing price but you already knew that. Plenty of cables included which is a plus. Had a 22" Westinhouse and put side by side the Hanns G blows it away as far as picture quality. Running Duel monitors on my mac mini and I love it. Size is mind blowing to anyone who has had 22 or less inch monitor. Well worth the money. HDMI!!!
Cons: Only had it a day. So far zero issues or problems.
Other Thoughts: Buy this monitor if you want a massive display for your computer.

Not too sure anymore
Pros: Ok let me start by saying that Ive owned one of these monitors for over a year now and the color of the thing is just outstanding. Very sharp, very vibrant
Cons: experienced corruption or interference like a flicker a little then a lot after 1 yr.......then monitor just died one day. Took it to a shop and they said the power supply went bad and replaced it. got it back, and flicker is still there......while it was in the shop I ordered another one as a backup. got the new one and within 5 days, it developed a ghastly green verticle line left of center. Sent back for RMA.
Other Thoughts: This monitor looks great while it works, but Im 0 for 2 with them now, however my friend has the same monitor without an issue for over a year, so maybe im just unlucky....but i dont know.............

Brightness + Clarity = Awesome.
Pros: When I powered this on, my mouth dropped. It made my Samsung Syncmasters look dim! This is such a beautiful, crisp bright screen. With built-in speakers, I can plug in a PS3 via HDMI and it transforms into a gamer's paradise. I have had many monitors, and this one takes the cake by far. I'm considering buying another one and wall-mounting it above this one to go from a 3-monitor to 4-monitor configuration.
Cons: I don't think you can adjust the height of the monitor with the mount included, but at least you can tilt it up and down.
Other Thoughts: I hadn't bought any Hanns-G stuff before but now I am a customer for life.

Worked Great
Pros: The graphics are great, the price is great, no dead pixels, games work and look good on it.
Cons: Viewing from any other Angle than straight on changes the color, but that's the type of monitor it is. If you re using this as something other than a monitor, make sure your seating arrangement is straight forward.

Ultimate Perfection
Pros: Beautiful contrast and clarity. Excellent price. Perfect size for an avid gamer. The swivel stand is the best I have had so far. No ghosting.
Cons: I have none except maybe the price. However I have paid more on other monitors that can not compare to this.
Other Thoughts: This is the best monitor I have ever used. I play BF2 every night and with a GTX275 and this monitor, you can really get into the game so to speak. The contrast and definition with this monitor are simply amazing. I had a 25" before and although there is a size difference, the clarity difference is even more noticeable. I absolutely love this monitor and would recommend it to any of my friends of the gaming community. Also when I watch a show on my rig now it is heaven. Get it you won't regret it!

Great monitor.
Pros: The size is perfect. The resolution is higher than "full hd" at 1920 x 1200. Has a great response time, and I have not had any pixel issues. I've owned the HG-281DPB for a few months now and I am still thoroughly impressed.
Cons: The viewing angles are somewhat poor but that is to be expected with a TN panel.

Bright Clear Picture
Pros: The HG281D makes a very nice first impression. Bright and clear colors, with crisp fonts. No dead pixels, Much better image quality than I expected for the price.Monitor was packaged well, box was intact.
Cons: none as of yet.
Other Thoughts: I just played an online game of Modern Warfare and I will never go back to 22". Night and day difference, My wife got my old HDMI 22" HP and she is happy. If you are a gamer, you will not regret buying this monitor. I ordered this yesterday and the delivery was here today at 11am. Newegg is number one in service and prices.

excellent value but quirky
Pros: Good bright clear panel. I use one HG-281dpb for small home theater in my bedroom and one in dual display setup at the office. I love it at two-seventy-9 dollars with free shipping.
Cons: 1. Slight ghosting using analog cable. Could be cable issue. 2. 1920x1200 only works correctly in digital mode. In analog at 1920x 1200 you get overscan scrolling effect. Verified this problem with Hanns tech support. This should be stated in the product description. 4. I turn the monitor (configured as secondary monitor in windows xp dual monitor set up) off at night. When I come in in the morning I turn it back on. I get "No Signal" message. I can either reboot the computer or I have to go in Windows Display settings and switch it to 1920x1080 and then back to 1920 x 1200 and the signal reappears. Probably a quirk in the old old ATI AGP radeo card or driver. 5. The too bright power on light found on many Hanns 5onitors. The fix is a piece of electrical tape over the light. 6. You can't adjust horizontal vertical size or position
Other Thoughts: Slight ghosting effect goes away when using DVI to Analog. One local computer guru said these are TV grade panels not monitor grade panels. He says the "500 cd" brightness rating is the tell. He says monitor grade panels are 350 cd. I think most of the specs given on LCD monitors in general are meaningless. Hanns RMA process is better than most. One agent at Hanns is in charge of your RMA once the RMA is issued. If there is a problem you email that agent and they actually respond quickly to you.

I like it!
Pros: This thing is huge. I switched from a 27" Olevia TV as a monitor, the response time was a huge difference. This thing is fast. The colors are so nice and there is no ghosting (of course). Native HDMI is nice. This thing is absolutely gorgeous.
Cons: No native DVI. At pitch black there is some very obvious bleed through, I almost never pay attention to this. It showed up with 1 stuck pixel, and I cannot unstick it. Developed 1 dead pixel. Both are right on the borders, and with this much real-estate, and they only show up in some colors, I never notice.
Other Thoughts: Don't let LCD snobs talk you out of this. At its price point, and even higher, this is a great monitor.

Better than I expected!
Pros: The picture is better than I expected! I thought for $279 (with coupon) I'd get a so-so product. I was wrong.
Colors are just vibrant and brightness is high (had to turn down to 48 to not be overpowering).
I particularly enjoy the 1920x1200 (same res as my 24"). I'm NOT interested in some super high resolution (2560x). No thanks. 1920x1200 is ideal in my book. My ATI 4870 512MB works great with it.
This is my new main monitor.
Cons: None really. However, it would have been nice to have component inputs or have 2 HDMI.
Other Thoughts: I haven't tried the speakers--I'm sure they are pretty sad compared to any other sound system.

Great buy!!
Pros: Great quality, huge bang for the buck, highly recommend it!
Cons: To be honest I was a bit concerned about dead pixels and DOA, but it works perfectly fine! Only thing I've noticed is a little cosmetic damage on the base, but nothing with the screen itself, oh, and the little blue LED on the bottom right is fairly cheap, it isn't sitting right and feels like its pushed in some.
Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a new monitor, this is really an amazing deal for the price.

Pros: Like many have said, WOW! This thing is freaking huge and gorgeous! I upgraded my system from an old, dying 19" Viewsonic CRT to this baby and I am loving it. Plugged it in to the new Cyberpower PC I ordered from here as well, and except for some sounds problems (still have to figure that out) everything works flawlessly. No dead pixels!
Cons: none so far

What a deal, 28" for $279.
Pros: Crystal clear image, flawless performance
Cons: None I can think of
Other Thoughts: The best monitor I have ever owned. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It does everything I want it to and does it well.

excellence
Pros: its a great monitor for the money, sure it doesn't have clear blacks... but on the flip side you get a monitor that happens to be close to 10" bigger than my last and bragging rights. Great picture, resolution, Full 1080p which is nice :) HDMI
Cons: Light bleeds from the edges, like many other people have said. blacks are full black you can not see any detail in them unlike really expensive monitors.
Other Thoughts: i now have bragging rights over just about everyone at school. and its a killer monitor for car racing games!!! all my games look amazing on this monitor

Ugh. Really? Again?
Pros: Big Display @ 1920x1200 Bright Decent Contrast
Cons: My first display, DDC stopped working, had to send it back. Had to pay 80 dollars for shipping back to their facility.
Got a new display, worked fine for a month, then the screen started showing red and green pixel artifacts on specific colors and contrasts. HannsG's replacement for my RMA still works, but is defective and they won't pay for shipping back to their facility after they said that they would. As this is the second replacement for the same product, I would expect more from them. I will not get another display from HannsG, their customer service is unreliable and unprofessional and their hardware is sub-par made with cheap materials.
Stick with proven bands if you want superior image quality, reliable hardware, and technical support that is professional and is useful.
Other Thoughts: This monitor has a cheap price tag for a reason, keep that in mind when you buy it, but remember it is expensive to ship such a large monitor back to them and their support is not very knowledgeable and a hassle to deal with.
You know something is strange when your replacement for an RMA is also defective.

Size DOES matter!
Pros: It's BIG. No bad pixels. Great for gaming. Great for movies. Half the price of other 28" monitors. HDMI. It's REALLY big.
Cons: Have to buy HD movies from now on because standard DVD looks blotchy if you use full screen.
Other Thoughts: Out of the box, almost burned out my retinas... turn the brightness WAY down. Took a few minutes to realize the internal speakers were on HDMI instead of the audio jack; if you are using the DVI to HDMI converter cable flip it for sound.

BOGUS WARRANTY
Pros: Great monitor, for 1 year and 10 months.
Cons: OK, so mine just died at 1 year, 10 months, ozone smell out the top. I sent it back and they claim that the since its the panel that died, they have to charge me $197 to fix it. So, in essence, the 3 year warranty from HannsG is bogus. Only plan on them replacing the screen if it goes bad for 1 year.

Excellent Large LCD Monitor
Pros: Sturdy build, good quality plastic. Display is sharp. HDMI and VGA inputs worked without a hitch. Nice heavy base.
Cons: None found.
Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor to function as a stop-gap for movie-watching until I can purchase a 50" plasma TV, and, once I've got the TV, it will be used for computing. It has done a great job so far. The only thing that remains to be seen is its longevity.
