Dominate the battlefield!
Pros: The sensitivity is where its at on this one. I play DoD Source a lot and I love to "rambo." Ramboing essentially is firing the heavy machine gun without deploying the bipod. You are compensating for the recoil by constantly "looking down" or moving down with your mouse. Well with this puppy, the sensitivity is so great, that it takes little effort to do that. Also the design of the mouse makes it so easy to handle. The buttons to adjust the sensitivity on the mouse itself make it really easy to change up quickly when needed.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: What are you doing still reading this review? Buy it already!! NAO!!

Horrible warranty service
Pros: The mouse works great when it is working
Cons: After gaming with this mouse for many months the left mouse button started to register single clicks as double clicks or would not register clicks at all. I went through the process of trying to get warranty service for this mouse and after 2 weeks of back and forth communication through their system they said they would send out a replacement. It has now been another 2 weeks and I have not heard a word about the replacement from Logitech.
Other Thoughts: In comparison, I had a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer which also failed in the past. When I contacted Microsoft they sent out the replacement quickly and before asking for the old mouse back.

Great Gaming Mouse
Pros: *A lot of cool features, such as the free scrolling scroll wheel, dpi profiles, grips, back and forward thumb buttons, and weights. *LED's are cool and can be set to match your computer or your keyboards LED lights if you wanted. *Very Smooth mouse, even on 500 samples per second. *Drivers and profiles stored on mouse so it can be used on multiple computers.
Cons: *Cord is extremely stiff out of the box. *Some of the buttons--such as the profile changing button and free scroll clicky scroll toggle--are somewhat awkward to reach, but this isn't a problem if you don't use em much (I do). *Large grip is a bit pointless in my opinion (gaming grip has a rough texture and is easier to grab).
Other Thoughts: I noticed an immediate difference between my old mouse and this new one in game. Aiming is smoother and more accurate, even at higher sensitivity/dpi settings. The weights are nice if you want your mouse heavier than it comes out of the box. Overall great mouse, buy it if you can afford it.

Best Mouse Ever!
Pros: Everything. Weights, free-spin & clicking scroll option, in-mouse memory profile, easy-swap grip, LED color options and a super smooth/comfortable feel. No more greasy-grip feeling due to excellent surface texture.
Cons: Not as many DPI options as the G9x.

Do not bend the wires!
Pros: * High precision * Tracks well on a variety of surfaces * High quality feel * Logitech will replace a broken mouse without giving you the run around
Cons: * Cord breaks easily * Middle mouse button requires too much pressure to press
Other Thoughts: Do not buy this mouse if you will not be able to keep the wires perfectly level. Frequent bending of the wires will cause a sever in the cord and the mouse will no longer work. This happened to my original purchase and the replacement. Expect about 5 months of use if the wire is shifted beyond regular mouse movement on a daily basis.
Despite the wire issue, I recommended this mouse to two friends. Since they sit at a computer table, they likely won't have this problem. To get around my issue, I am purchasing the wireless sidewinder from MS.

Yet another 5 star review
Pros: It's an amazingly good, comfortable mouse for claw grip. Stores sensitivity settings internally (so you can switch between computers easily). Swappable grip gives you more options though you'll probably choose one and stick with it. Customizable LED color is icing on the cake.
Cons: Not really made for other than claw grip, so if this is not you, don't get it.

Great mouse but...
Pros: Excellent mouse for gaming. High resolution, comfortable, just the right amount of buttons, works on any surface...
Cons: After using for about 9 months the left mouse button (the important one) has started double-clicking on a single click. It started happening a week ago doing it maybe once or twice an hour but now the mouse is almost unusable as it opens files instead of selecting them and it is impossible to click and drag. It is double-clicking on every other single click. I had to switch to a mouse i got for free at a trade show.
I really liked this mouse, but for $99 (at the time) is should have lasted more then 9 months. I am not hard on my equipment.
Other Thoughts: I will probably buy another one because i liked it so much, but i am still dissapointed.
i thought it might be a driver problem, but i switched it to a win xp machine (from win vista) and it did the same thing. (i tried new drivers, old drivers and no drivers with the same result)

Great Mouse
Pros: I got this mouse when I returned a Logitech MX518 which was making a high pitch noise. Dispite the higher DPI i think this one is much less gitery at max setting. Also it does not make a high pitch noise!
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: I changed the led color to blue to match my keyboard lock leds.

Great, While it still works.
Pros: Works Great!, you can setup 3 different profiles for dpi and for each profile you can have 5 different settings. Very responsive, free spinning scroller option, and Comfortable for prolonged use.
Cons: Mine isn't even a year old and the scroll has altogether just stopped working. I'm not hard on any of my electronics so I don't understand what happened. Customer Service
Other Thoughts: I wish that Logitech would have a better customer service option, I haven't had anyone contact me about getting my mouse fixed. I've been on their site, posted my issue and have got nothing as far as customer service.

Pros: looks nice. slides very very easily. tracks well most of the time (using a cloth pad). you can change the color of the LEDs though the software. everything works as advertised.
Cons: probably not the most ergonomic mouse if you're a palmer.
side buttons are a little hard to access without a grip, but you can adapt to it. they're still in a bad place even with the grip IMO.
any small tilt of the mouse and grip can dig into the mouse surface and stop the mouse.
color selector doesn't give you RGB control, only lets you pick solid hues from their list of 204 colors.
i bought it from a questionable source (not newegg) for really cheap and it came in a plastic bag like OEM. my suspicion is that it's "open box" or defective. so with that in mind: it feels very imprecise at very small movements. the cursor seems jump around a lot. it's very hard to move the cursor pixel perfect when it jumps more than one pixel at a time or moves in the opposite direction that you move the mouse. it only happens sometimes and only at very small scale movements, and isn't noticeable when moving far.
Other Thoughts: i really wish mouse makers would make mouses with quiet buttons. why do they always have to click so loud?
without grips, this mouse is great for clawing because it's relatively small compared to other high end mouses, and the smaller the better, although it's still a bit too long.
i intentionally use this mouse without grips or weights because that extra inertia only slows me down.
it looks better without grips.
this is another con cause i ran out of room: putting weights in the mouse moves the center of gravity back farther behind the optical sensor and increases friction on the rear pad, so depending on where you hold the mouse you may induce rotational acceleration causing the tail end of the mouse to lag behind the movement of your fingers, if you have a firm grip or palm this shouldn't be an issue.

Excellent Mouse
Pros: This mouse lives up to the hype. At first I was apprehensive about purchasing the product due to it's odd appearance, but after using the mouse I fell in love with it.
I love the excellent software by logitech. I haven't had any problems with it and I'm always sure my mouse will function properly no matter what game.
Having the profile switcher and different color LED's to indicate which profile I'm using is beyond amazing. On the fly sensitivity a breeze. Customizable weight settings, and interchangeable shells can tailor to your specific needs.
Two/Three huge teflon mouse skates + steel series sx = WOW.
Cons: The only real issue I have with this mouse is that the middle mouse click is quite stiff. Not a huge deal because I don't really use it in games, but that's really the only flaw that comes to mind.
Other Thoughts: Most people talk about how the mouse uses a "claw grip". Personally I didn't have any problem with it and I always thought I was a palm gripper. For those that find the two shells uncomfortable, they do sell bigger shells on logitech's website, which should emulate the feel of their mx518/g5.

Not impressed, DOA.
Pros: Promises great features, incredible flexibility & customization. Sturdy, fabric-covered USB cable.
The G9's tilt wheel can easily be pressed straight down for a middle-click, even with a slightly sideways push. Some other tilt-wheel mice (I'm looking at you, Microsoft) suffer from accidental side-scrolling instead of an intended middle-click, especially when playing games.
Cons: Died within first day of use. It entered "changing profiles" mode of its own accord & never came out, with the "running man" icon blinking constantly. In this state, you can move the pointer but none of the buttons work, so it became useless. Had to call Logitech for an RMA.
Other Thoughts: Logitech has no toll-free number for customer support, and their RMA request email has been down for a few weeks. We were on hold for at least 20 minutes.
Once we finally spoke with a human, they promised to email us a prepaid shipping label for return of the dead mouse. They're going to replace it with a G9x, an improved version of the G9. Perhaps the G9x will fix the "blinking icon of death" problem for good - we're not the only ones who have had this particular failure.
This is the third Logitech product I've had die early in the past few years. Logitech stuff isn't very durable, but at least they're good about replacing it when it goes.
Note: will NOT work on a PS/2 port via an adapter. The PS/2 port can't supply enough power.

Fabulous!
Pros: Love having two different grips. Love the DPI on the fly in the right place. Forward/reverse buttons in right place. Scroll wheel silent smooth or clicky. Mouse is the right size. Track beautifully. Great to game with.
Cons: I have none and have owned this mouse for over a year. I am a heavy gamer mostly RPGs and FPS. So I would be very critical if I felt it hurt my gaming. It does not in any way.
Other Thoughts: Wish Logitech made one like this wireless for my laptop that I game on the go with. Would love more grips. This is the second mouse I love so much the other is my trusty 7 year old Logitech MX 1000 which was my gaming mouse now my server mouse. I wish they would make it again. The G9 is perfect for me. I am female and have small hands and I can use this mouse in Claw or palm grip and it is so comfortable. Get one.

The Customization is the Best
Pros: Mouse feet are unbelievable, glides like crazy. Fantastic ergonomics for both grips. Customizable LEDs, customizable grips, and customizable weights. Mouse wheel can scroll horizontally. On the fly sensitivity buttons. Two customizable side buttons. Mouse profiles that save on the mouse so you can use the profiles on any computer. A button that CHANGES THE SCROLL WHEEL to have clicks or no clicks!
Cons: Most of these cons arise from the fact that I am a long time fan of the G5. If you have used the G5 or any of the other similar MX series, then you will most likely not enjoy this mouse's ergonomics as much. The gap between the mouse and its grip feels strange and it just doesn't feel like it fits in my hand as perfectly as the G5 does. The scroll wheel also bothers me because it does not protrude as much as it does on the G5. I also enjoyed being able to quickly launch out my weight cartaridge on the G5 but on the G9 you must first remove the grip before removing the cartridge. I'm also still waiting for the day Logitech finally takes Razer's On-the-fly sensitivity scrolling, which I prefer much more because it provides more sensitivity options.
Other Thoughts: The cons I listed out were really just nit-picky details. The true essence of this mouse is it's customization, ergonomics, and crazy mouse feet. This is definitely the best mouse I have ever had to game with, but the G5 still feels more natural for me.

Elegant Gaming Mouse
Pros: I want to preface my review by stating that this is the first "gaming" mouse I have ever owned so any supposed cons others have mentioned seem rather trivial to me. 1. This mouse can store up to 5 profiles in its onboard memory. 2. Each profile can be tweaked and micromanaged to an impressive level of detail. The LED lighting can be set to nearly any color and shade from the visible spectrum. I like choosing colors that are underrepresented on typical gaming equipment (like icy purple) 3. Each profile can memorize up to 5 user-selected DPI settings up to 3200 DPI. I set mine to 400; 800; 1200; 1600; & 2000 since they seem like natural points across a broad spectrum. 4. You can swap profiles or dpi settings at any time with intuitive selector buttons on the mouse. The buttons are recessed enough so that you do not accidentally click them during intense use, but are easily accessed when you "intend" to shift your DPI. Scale up for run-n-gun action then drop them down for sniping b
Cons: -Like all high-end gaming equipment: Price. -I actually believe the price is justifiable for the sheer elegance you will receive. Forget about the whining about what size hand the mouse fits or what type of grip you need to accentuate. I have used all kinds of low-end mice and my hand adapts to each iteration (even A**le's mighty mouse...which is the worst mouse ever manufactured...ever!) If you have only ever used low-to-mid range mice then the G9 will feel a thousand miles apart. If you are a gaming mouse connoisseur you may have a few annoyances since this mouse seems to break away from previous conventions or expectations in favor of plotting a course towards the next generation of input devices like the G19 keyboard (which pairs nicely with this mouse).
Other Thoughts: 5. Regarding profile assignment you could either take the approach of mirroring (with useful variation) your DPI settings across each profile for familiarity between casual, gaming, productivity, etc. modes OR you could think of the 5 profiles as linked extensions of each other and map 25 discrete DPI settings (from 0-3200) across the 5 profiles for meticulous and methodical scaling. 6. The two included interchangeable grips and the customizable weight tray (4 4-gram inserts & 4 7-gram inserts) help each user match their particular needs. You should be able to buy alternative grips customizable with uploaded images. 7. The MicroGear precision scroll wheel works phenomenally well. You swap between a frictionless "free spin" or a clickable style with a touch of a button (located on the undercarriage). 8. The software allows for other micromanagements: x,y axis tweaks, macro mappings, movement recordings, app specific settings, tracking, cursor speed, & more. Runs well on Windows 7

2 died in under 2 months
Pros: great when they worked.
Cons: it saddens me to give a logitech product 1 egg, i've always used them with great success. my mx518 made it through 3 years of gaming and even a deployment to iraq(infantry here so it went everywhere on tons of convoys) and still works. was just looking to upgrade but apperently logitech doesn't make a great mouse anymore.
Other Thoughts: this may be a rare incident and i hope it is. but i'm not buying another one of these.

Best laser I've had
Pros: This is the only laser mouse I've ever had that didn't go out of alignment after a few months' heavy use, comfortable and accurate as with most gaming mice, decent programming software.
Cons: As others have said the "velvet" grip does show wear after prolonged use.
Other Thoughts: Though this does not just apply to this mouse, I would like to try one with a few more buttons to hotkey in games, though this may be a horrible idea that has never made it into production with good reason.

Pros: - Great form on the mouse, fit my hand perfect and is very adjustable with attachments. - The weighting system is perfect, I have had a lot of mice and gaming mice and this one is the best so far. - Mouse wire has a cool mesh look and feel. - First wired mouse I loved using. - Love the button locations.
Cons: - Only light on mouse is red, can't change the color.
Other Thoughts: This is a great gaming mouse for FPS games.

Great mouse for... Anything!
Pros: Quality build, very stable. Glides very easy on a desk, mouse pad, book... Anything, really. The smaller of the two included grips is perfect for anything requiring precision, such as FPS games. The wide grip is good for nearly everything else. Comfort level is high, and I find myself at my computer longer because my hand doesn't cramp up. Keep in mind I have large hands, and some may say that the size of the mouse may turn those with big hands away, but I find it very comfortable. Being able to change the weights helps a bit, too. For graphic arts and general use, I'll load it up with the full 28 grams. I'd still like it to weigh a little more, but I can't complain about that. Pop off the wide grip, slide out the weight tray, put on the smaller grip, and you're ready to play in a heartbeat. The nylon USB cord is also a very nice touch.
Cons: What would I change... I would allow more weight to be put in the tray, probably with 10-gram weights? I'd also like to see a grip with more pinky support released, as my pinky always rests on the mouse pad, even with the wide-load grip. Although a nice, the nylon cord seems vulnerable to damage.
Other Thoughts: Other than a few minor things that I would like to see changed, I love this mouse. I've used two Microsoft wireless mice, a Logitech G5, and a Logitech MX Revolution before this, and I have to say that this is by far the best one of all of them. I got mine CHEAP after rebate. Speaking of rebate, Logitech's rebate procedure is quite fast and very easy.

Fantastic Gaming Mouse
Pros: Interchangable grips, super high DPI, nice balance due to customizable weights, lots of programable buttons!!
Cons: All plastic coated with that velvet type finish starts to wear over time and no difference here!! There are two different styled grips that come with this mouse and I wish the finish that comes on the smaller grip was available on the larger, more flared one!! Not really a con here so much as an observation.
Other Thoughts: All logitech stuff rocks and has been my choice since the middle 90's! Neweggs the best too!!!!

G9 mouse wheel
Pros: Button positions are perfect for gaming and on the fly dpi adjustment is great for "in game" adjustments.
The "feel" of this mouse in the hand is also very nice
Cons: It take a gorilla to push wheel down and if the wheel turns while you are pushing, the results are other than what what was expected.
The dpi resolution would be better at 4000 like the RAZER mice for gaming.
Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a good mouse for most applications but for gaming, it is mys backup mouse.

Amazing mouse
Pros: This mouse is soo smooth. It has a programmable button on it so you can switch between 4 levels of sensitivity without having to go into the user account settings. You can put weights in it to make it a desired amount. also on the underside you can have a freespinning scroll wheel for faster scrolling.
Cons: Price, it costs alot.

Rebates
Pros: Good mouse.
Cons: Don't trust Logitech to actually honor any rebate they offer. I sent in all documentation and kept copies, when I checked the status of my rebate its now showing as "invalid" It states that the item was purchased outside the time frame for the rebate, but I have documentation showing that isn't true. It was purchased within the time frame, they just don't want to honor it.
Very disappointed.
Other Thoughts: When you see the discounted price because of a rebate, don't assume that you will actually receive it.

Great Wired Gaming Mouse
Pros: This mouse is wired so signal interference isn't a problem. It comes with 2 different "face plates". One that is smooth and one that is textured for a better grip. The LEDs that indicate your DPI can be color changed to pretty much any color. The G9 also comes with 2 sets of weights (4 weights per set), you can choose 4g or 7g or mix and match. Two side buttons can be used to go back a page or forward a page, when browsing the internet. The scroll wheel is also great on this mouse.
Cons: The mouse is a bit narrower than it's predecessor the G7 and other similar style mouses. That being said it takes about a week or so to break in the mouse.
Other Thoughts: I upgraded to this mouse after losing my patience with the Logitech G7 mouse. The G7 would randomly freeze for 10-20 seconds then resume working status. This is a known problem that Logitech seems to ignore. There are plenty of people with the same problem stating their grievances on the Logitech forum. After exhausting every possible solution, I gave up and purchased this. Luckily the G9 has been a great substitute for the G7.

Pros: Surprisingly comfortable, despite the odd shape. My last mouse (think snakes) had a very high palm rest, which over time became uncomfortable, so I'm liking the lower/flatter design. All the buttons (except for the wheel click, see below) feel good, especially the side buttons, which are exceptional. DPI buttons are well placed and won't be accidentally pushed. The teflon pads on the bottom are huge, covering about 1/3 of the area and it moves very smoothly on my S&S Solo, which is a lightly textured plastic. Performance seems good, but I think that's par for the course these days. I'm not a wrist flicker, more of a movement from the elbow down style utilizing a semi-palm grip and don't have any issues with the mouse.
Cons: Clicking the mouse wheel is difficult, slightly more so in click mode than free mode. I never wheel click in games, which is the only time I use click mode, so it's only an issue while in the OS, where the most common application is opening a new browser tab. --- The Logitech software installs more than one process, which is undesirable to me. Once you've configure the mouse via SetPoint, though, you can uninstall the application and everything is retained in the onboard memory, so it will even work in Linux. --- The comfort grip has a big teflon pad under the thumb area, but the precision grip doesn't, even though it looks like there should be one in the smaller area. I checked on the Logitech forums and apparently this is normal, so it's not a defect. It doesn't effect anything and I still prefer the precision grip due to the texture.
Other Thoughts: One game I've started playing is opening up a spreadsheet and free spinning down, seeing how many rows I can get past before the wheel stops. My current record is 7704 rows in OpenOffice Calc, not sure if the scroll rate is different in Excel.

Peeling
Pros: Good mouse overall for claw grip, everything works well.
Cons: Cord is too stiff, to the point where it causes resistance and gets caught on things, not a problem with the G7. Additionally, the smooth surface coating will peel to the bare plastic if your sweat gets under it, though this issue is fixed by a replacement from Logitech apparently.

Beware poor usb cable design
Pros: This mouse was pretty amazing when I first bought it, smooth operation, and it looks pretty sleek as well. The programmable sensity levels and different profiles made it versatile for all kinds of gaming.
Cons: The USB cable for this mouse pretty much sucks, the braided line in the cable is supposed to make it stronger, but it does the opposite, it makes the cable stiff, eventually the line starts breaking through the insulation, plus the stiffness of the cable makes the smaller wires inside break. I had mine for less than a year and I have already had to buy a replacement because the wires broke...very disappointed especially since I bought this mouse when it was still $100
Other Thoughts: Looks great and works great untill the poor design of the USB cable gives out. The braided cable is a poor design feature. Although it does have a three year warranty that covers the cable, but for the money and time go with a G7 wireless. I expect my gaming mice to last me longer than a year especially for the price tag they carry...

Worth every Penny!
Pros: This mouse is great and worth every penny. You can choose from 3 different grip sizes and add weights to the mouse. Plus change the color of the mouse. Logitech gave it so many options that I can't list them all. After having it for a week, I can't imaging gaming with out it. Shooter games are a dream and this mouse is so much better then the Razer Mamba.
Cons: Honestly I can't come up with one!
Other Thoughts: I purchased the Razer Mamba and used it for a week. After doing so I could not get use too the weight of the mouse and the feel of it. The software support is horrible. Even after I updated the software. The G9 is far better then anything Razer has! Go out and get informed about multiple mouses. But I can tell you this mouse is the bomb!

Nice mouse but overpriced
Pros: Nice size, looks nice, and configurable including the LED color used.
Cons: Way too stiff of a wheel button, and moving the scroll wheel is noisy compared to my previous XG Gaming mouse. The cord is also too stiff.
Other Thoughts: I didn't buy this from newegg, but another store. Like another person just posted, the wheel click button is WAY too stiff and hard to push. That is really uncalled for considering this is Logitech. Its also noisy, making the scroll wheel sound and feel cheap.
The mouse looks nicer than the pictures do. Its more black and not as big looking to me in person. I like the looks much more now that I have it. However one thing I have realized is this mouse definitely is way overhyped. My previous and cheapo XG Gaming mouse glides much more smoothly, and has a quiet and a much easier to push down scroll wheel button.
I would never use the weights because added weight just make a mouse have more friction making it harder to push.
Next time I buy a mouse it won't be over $30.

Awesome!
Pros: Comfortable. Very responsive. Smooth mousing.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: This is by far the best mouse I have ever used. I got it not for gaming but for office use. I was tired of sporadic wireless mouses (mice?). It was nice to weight it...made it feel better and more comfortable to use.

Flawed
Pros: - Great feature set - Tracks well, slides smoothly - The middle wheel spins well and offers two spin modes
Cons: - Too short, too low. Makes my hand hurt to use it for more than 30 minutes. I have medium/large hands so I thought maybe it would be better in small hands. My girlfriend hated the feel of it as well. We both use a palm grip, so perhaps its just right for a claw grip. - Middle wheel is poorly designed for uses other than spinning. It takes way too much pressure to press and has too low of a profile to easily tilt left/right. Feels as though they only cared about the spin feature of the middle wheel.
Other Thoughts: I really wanted to upgrade my logitech G7, but this mouse (for me) was pretty bad. I own and have used a logitech mx510, mx518, G5, G7 and MX laser and thought they all were decent. This one just doesn't make the grade for me.

Logitech does it again
Pros: this mouse feels AMAZING. it's so comfortable and easy to move around it is unbelievable. Programmable profiles for any application you run from gaming to word processing to CAD. two changeable grips for that perfect feel. one persision (small) and a wide for the big hands.
the scroll wheel can go into free spin mode meaning you can spin it and there is nothing stopping it no clicks , then change it back to regular mode.
the coating on the small grip is awesome, very gritty and non slip for those hours of intense gaming.
like all the g series mice, weight adjustable as well via weight cartridges.
Cons: this is a claw grip mouse. if you don't use the claw grip it's going to be very uncomfortable for you. Not for the casual/non gamer.
Other Thoughts: Logitech hits another home run for gaming. DPI on the fly, 5 buttons, everything you come to expect form a G series mouse with bonuses. claw grip feels amazing on this mouse and every effort has been made to make it more ergonomic if used this way. Adjustable grips and weights make it "your" mouse. the G9 sets the new standard in gaming mice.

Sweet
Pros: this thing is sleek! I thought it was going to be too small for my hand but i was wrong. I liked the shape and size of the G5/7, but this thing feels and looks even better. extremely customizable and feels awesome in your hand.
Cons: The mouse is useless without the hand grips and the weight holder is kinda flimsy. not a big deal though
Other Thoughts: proud to own G5,7 and now 9

Great when it works
Pros: Great for games that do not have different sensitivity for things like a sniper scope. A couple of taps and you go from twitchy pistol toting madman to smooth handed sniper.
Cons: The mouse sometimes gets stuck in it's profile selection mode. This cripples all three buttons across the front. If you run into this problem, just disconnect the mouse for about eight hours and it'll reset. Also, while using a spare mouse, rage on the Logitech forums in one of the threads where a bunch of people are having the same issue.

Great Mouse
Pros: This is a great mouse. - comes with weights. I like to have it as heavy as possible so this is nice. -Wide and standard grips. Someone stated that this was a "claw" type mouse which it is not. You rest your hand on it. -The cord is braided and extremely durable, I imagine it is one that will become even more durable as the braid ages. -I really like the adjustable sensitivity on this mouse, I can set profiles for standard use (web pages etc) and gaming. Once I have it adjusted the way I like it it is wonderful. -Its not as expensive as some comparable mice.
Cons: -Its not wireless - But you won't get the same response from a wireless mouse.
Other Thoughts: Nice mouse Packaging might be overkill

Love it!
Pros: As someone mentioned before, if you are a serious gamer and you use the 'claw grip' this mouse is a must have. I recently upgraded from my G5 v2 for the G9. I love my G5 to death, it's an excellent mouse. But after two days of getting used to this G9, I am sure I made the right choice.
Cons: Not really a con, but the on-the-fly DPI buttons on the mouse are a bit hard for me to find during intense gaming. But that's just something I'm sure I'll get used too, I've only had the mouse for 5 days.
Other Thoughts: I've heard people complain about the mouse wheel. I don't know what kind of bud they are toking on but I like the wheel more than any other mouse I've used.

Cons: -not so great for regular use -expensive -too small and boxy shaped -uncomfortable compared to $15 mice on the market. makes my hand ache.

Pros: I love this mouse. It performs great. I have never had any trouble tracking or anything. Very adjustable, software gives you tons of options, the scroll wheel is smooth and hasn't given me any signs of wear, the buttons still work wonderfully. I have all the weights in it. Wish I could make it heavier. The different body styles that you can use turned out to be a nice feature.
Cons: None. I've met a lot of people that don't like how it fits in your hand. I like it. It's smaller and a little boxy, but it fits in my hand (I have small hands, btw) perfectly with the way I hold my mouse. However, many people seem to not like the form of this mouse, so that's something you will want to look into.
Other Thoughts: Performs great! Love it! Just be aware that you might not like the fit.

Great for gaming!
Pros: Didn't get this from Newegg :( but works well, does what it needs to, gets the job done... with style.
Love the grip, but that's just me, I prefer a wide-grip.
Cons: Mouse grip is a bit wide, so experiment with ergonomics first if you can. Changeable grip is a little smaller, but thinner and more mainstream.
Other Thoughts: Also, the "green" light on the LED light controller is actually "yellow"--haven't found a button for green yet... but that's just being nit-picky.

Great
Pros: I dont game (yet) but the macros are so customizable that you can use them for anything. Right now I have the side two macros on copy and paste and it makes life much easier. I'm sorry newegg but I didnt buy it here but rather at that "big auction place beggining with an e" for 41 bucks. (I did have to search for a while though.)
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: The "precision grip" is a little rough but it fits my hand better.

Great mouse
Pros: The best mouse I've ever gotten my tiny hands on! All the best features of the G5 (adjustable weight, slick mouse feet, on-the-fly DPI switching, braided cord) plus switchable scrolling modes (smooth/click) make this a 5-egg mouse.
Cons: None yet.
Other Thoughts: Seriously, my hands are very small and every other mouse I've owned has given me problems. This one fits like a glove :)

Great Upgrade from g5
Pros: I upgraded to the g9 after my g5 broke on me after a couple years of use and i have to say I'm very pleased with it so far. Great software customization, and i think swappable grips and weights are the next step forward in gaming mice.
Cons: Not much though it is a hit to the wallet and while its a great mouse the design could use a little bit of work, its definitely not the most comfortable mouse I've used.
Other Thoughts: with up to 3200 dpi and adjustable led colors and button functions, this mouse definitely has all of the bells and whistles.

Logitech is Awesome
Pros: Excellent tracking as well as smooth gliding with the wide mouse feet. Feels smooth and precise. Software works well (I run vista 64bit) and can detect my applications and adjust profiles accordingly. Counter Strike Source has never felt better.
Cons: The mousewheel got a little gummy after 6 months but after a quick google search I found a simple fix.
Other Thoughts: Best mouse I have ever owned EVER.

exceptional mouse
Pros: smooth tracking, accessible dpi buttons, mouse wheel has momentum, adjustable weights, customizable leds, comfortable feel for both claw and palm style, able to pick up mouse easily without hitting thumb buttons, despite other reviews it DOES track perfectly on glass (icemat), nice price on sale at $68.99 with free shipping
Cons: the only con i have is the braided wire, it feels nice but is quite stiff and tends to drag my mouse slightly when i lift my hand off of it, and the mouse does make a slightly scratchy noise but its not very loud
Other Thoughts: the cons are very minor and are barely noticeable, not worth removing a point and also newegg had it processed and here within 3 days, never had a problem with them

Great Mouse
Pros: Love the scroll wheel, LED lights, sensitivity settings in the setpoint software, and the adjustable weight. There are so many combinations of sensitivities, you can fine tune it to exactly what you need.
Cons: The mouse wheel button is a little stiff, but after a few days you get used to it. Also, when adjusting the weight, there is no way to get the mouse balanced. What ends up happening is the back(where you load the weights) becomes heavier than the front by a noticeable amount, especially when you try and pick it up. Again though, it is something I got used to.
Other Thoughts: I upgraded from the mx518, which was a GREAT mouse and served me well for a good 3 or 4 years. However, the right mouse button started working spasmodically so I upgraded to the G9. I love the feel and I especially like that it shows you right on the mouse what sensitivity setting you are currently on.

Pros: Can adjust sensitivity on the fly, user profiles, custom colors, comes with different grips, tilt wheel, adjustable weight.
You can pretty much customize everything. And customizing is awesome.
Cons: Has yet to land me a hot date with Megan Fox.

Great Mouse
Pros: Great build quality. Looks very nice (IMO). SetPoint software is just great. Very customizable. Has two different grips.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I got the G9 mouse yesterday (bought it from a different store). It is not ugly at all. Actually I find very nice looking. It took some time to get used to after 3 years with Razer Diamondback. Using it with the second grip (without the thumb-rest). I found this grip better suited for gaming. DPI set to 1600. Overall great mouse!

Beyond Expectations
Pros: Coming from using a G5 and cloth mouse pad, I had expected performance that was at least up to par. The G5 was a fantastic mouse - but not indestructible and also not beverage-proof; I wanted something new that would continue serving me well for gaming. I have the G9 paired up with a Steelseries SX and I am completely blown away. I now know what a real mouse setup should feel like. My games feel like new and I'm enjoying the experience of playing them for the first time again. The mouse is actually very comfortable - after reading many mixed reviews about the comfort level and thinking the mouse was oddly-shaped, I was skeptical. Now I feel that they couldn't have designed a mouse better. It looks dead sexy and both grips are very comfortable. I can match the LED colors with the rest of my setup; it is actually a fun feature to customize.
Cons: I can't think of any cons. I have not been able to get this mouse to skip at any speed, and it glides like there is a blanket of air beneath it with my Steelseries SX. Not a single con - the effort required to depress each button is just right.
Other Thoughts: The scroll wheel actually does roll effortlessly - and will continue to roll on its own for a while when set to free-scrolling. This feature is great for viewing web pages. The micro-gear setting is perfect for gaming. My G5 would actually change weapons mid-roll between notches on occasion, while this G9 has a much more controlled and accurate scrolling feel to it.
10/10 Logitech.

Sweet mouse
Pros: Adjustable dpi, you can push a button for hyper fast scrolling, just a hot looking mouse.
Cons: The only con is that it doesnt hve the most comfortable feeling for your hand because its a little flat. BUT that doesnt mean its uncomfortable. Its nice but it just could have been a little better.
Other Thoughts: I had no problems with this mouse whatsoever and I love it. I only gave it 4 stars because of its comfort level.

Excellent gaming / All around mouse
Pros: I've been a logitech G-Series user for years now, and I've never found much reason to look elsewhere for gaming peripherals. The G9 Laser mouse is no exception. I've been so hooked to my G5/G7 for so long, it was really a considerable "jump" for me to go to such an "aggressive" mouse. However, in the end, I'm glad I did. This mouse performs superbly in any application I use, and the setpoint software for this mouse is far more configurable than it's predecessors.
Cons: No Cons. Pros Continued: You can have up to 6 different DPI settings at any given time, on the mouse, via the DPI selection button. What it will do for speeds 4, 5, and 6, is simply "start over" with the marks. Now I keep seeing people say that this mouse doesn't offer the same "ergonomic" support that the G5/G7 do... I have to disagree.
First off, I have huge hands, and naturally so at 6'5" tall, 235lbs. I don't game with the trademark "Claw" style grip, but I also never "rest" my palm on a mouse, either. Generally, the weight of my hand, if any, is rested on the callous area at the base of my fingers. I can only imagine for the more typical size hand, this mouse doesn't present an "ergonomic" problem.
Other Thoughts: So... if that's one of the reasons you've been putting this purchase "off", I say go for it, I sincerely doubt that'll be an issue. If you're a gamer of any kind, and you take your performance even mildly, it's a must have. As with the other G series mice, having the weights to customize your mouse to your liking is always a welcome addition. I haven't used the "smaller" mouse grip yet, so I can't offer any feedback on that little fella.
Now the only thing I'm after is the new Logitech G19 Keyboard. That'll just have to wait until NewEGG gets it in stock!
SIDENOTE: ANYONE that is paying for a "gaming" mouse MUST also buy a "Quality" mouse pad!! If you go out and buy a performance mouse, and don't buy a like mousepad, you're almost defeating the purpose! My personal preferance, as of now, is the "RAZER Destructor" gaming mouse pad. You can find it here at the EGG as well ----> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826999030

greatest mouse ever invented by mortal man
Pros: this mouse is SERIOUS-- every aspect of it is customizable. first off, mouse comes with 2 different grip-covers to choose from- one wide, and one sleek, to get the best fit for your hands. the mouse's sensitivity is adjustableon the fly, in 200dpi increments, from 200dpi up to 3200dpi. also comes with like 50 grams of weights that can be loaded in a compartment to adjust the weight of the mouse. the scroll wheel can be switched to between a standard "click" mode or between a "smooth roll" mode. you can even set the exact Red, Blue, and Green value for the LEDs, making them virtually any color in the standard spectrum. this mouse even has onboard memory!
this mouse is DOPE.
Cons: there arent enough eggs to rate this what it deserves.
ordered with rush shipping, USPS still took 5 days >_< (not logitech or newegg's fault) - the mouse is so good though im not even unhappy about the extra 2 bucks.
Other Thoughts: my friend had warned about using a laser mouse, as he described it as 'too sensitive", swearing by optical mice. the G9's incredible customization needs a word with -- because you can so accurately change the DPI settings there is no such thing as "too sensitive" because you setup the entire mouse to your liking.
if you are in need of a gaming mouse, then this is it (or the G9x, not sure if there is any real difference- its not even available on newegg at the moment anyway)

Best gaming mouse ever!!!
Pros: Great mouse overall. Love how in Halo i can switch from pawning away in a tank to sniping perfect shots so easily! The sensitivity button is right underneath the left mouse button making it easy to access. Also like how you can switch between a rough thin case to a more wider sleek case for the mouse. Also the wire is kind of like a ropey material making it not as easy to break then a standard wired mouse. Once again awesome job Logitech!!!
Cons: The scroll click button could have been a little easier to click. Sometimes when you click it the wheel rolls. Still doesn't matter because i don't use the scroll button to change weapons.
Other Thoughts: Great mouse! Wish i had a better system to make my gaming experience even better...

Pros: Braided cable. DPI level changer. 3 onboard profiles. Easy change of weight. 2 grips. A slim rough grip and a fat rubberized grip. Ability to have 5 levels of DPI per profile. Change the LED's to represent different profiles.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: There have been complaints about the box style of the mouse not being comfortable but I truly enjoy using this mouse for everyday use. I change grips quite often from claw to palm and it is very comfortable either way.

Worth the money
Pros: Weight adjusts from moderate to very heavy (i like heavy). On the fly dpi-adjustment (great for when friends use my computer and cant stand the super high max setting). Wire-wrapped cord gives a much sturdier/stronger feel. Adjustable lighting (it now matches my keyboard). Dri-grip cover is excellent, has not worn at all. Buttons holding up well over time.
Cons: Expensive for a mouse.
Other Thoughts: Only 4 basic buttons (two on left side, and 2 primary) plus 4-way/5th button mouse wheel. Not an issue for me, will be for some, hate having a mouse with too many superfluous buttons.

Logitech G9 Mouse
Pros: This mouse is the greatest for accuracy, response, looks, and feel!
Cons: The one snap on cover with the gripping texture that's painted on doesn't last long before it wears off.
Other Thoughts: This is a Great mouse for the young with good steady hands with no carpal tunnel. For us older guys with shaky hands and carpal tunnel will need to stay away from the G9. It's WAY to sensitive! But that's the way it suppose to be. I didn't take that into consideration when I bought it here.

Great mouse
Pros: Stylish, comfortable (which was my biggest fear), highly customizable.
Cons: The cord has a literal "rope" feel to it. No problems with it yet but it seems like it would be difficult to clean as opposed to the plastic/rubber sheath which is more commonly used.
Other Thoughts: It did not seem worth it to get the G9x for the much higher dpi since I have a hard time aiming at anything above 2500dpi

Logitech G7 Review
Pros: Design: The G9 may feel odd when first used, however after a couple hours gaming, you'll fall in love with it's low profile and comfortable ergonomics.
Customization: Swap out weights, change the face-plate, and change the LED colors. In all honesty, you probably won't mess much with the weights or face-plate, but the LEDs can be cool to customize.
Buttons: There are front and back buttons on the side which is great, especially if you're upgrading from a G7 like I did. The middle wheel has two settings: normal and "microgear." Microgear aids in spinning the wheel and feels really cool when you turn it on. You just give a tiny spin to the wheel and watch it rotate effortlessly. Great for long web pages or PDFs.
Durability: The mouse is sturdy and feels like it could take a couple falls from your desk (although I don't recommend trying).
Cord: The cord is wrapped in a cloth fiber that feels strong and looks professional.
Cons: -Can take some time getting used to depending what you upgraded from. The high pixel resolution can seem really fast if you upgraded from an LED or ball mouse, but I recommend keeping it on it's highest setting and editing your OS configuration (especially for gamers).
-The price is significantly higher than most mice, but if you're looking for a great gaming mouse, you found it.
-LED color options aren't as vast as I'd hoped.
-Depending on your personal preference, this mouse is CORDED. I had a G7 and was happy with the freedom of a cordless mouse, but in the end I didn't really notice a difference. The only time the cordless feature comes in handy is when I want to watch a movie from my bed, but I still have my G7 plugged in anyways. If this is a problem I would recommend getting this mouse and a cheap wireless or remote.
Other Thoughts: The G9 has served me excellently for over a year and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality gaming mouse. Easily competes with Razer mice imo.

Gaming deluxe
Pros: Was choosing between this and a sidewinder X8. Both are good and my sons have each. I went with this since it fits my hand better. I am a part time gamer but hate losing so I went with my youngest son's mouse since I saw what it does for him. Now I am spoiled after using a std PS2 logitech. No comparison.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: The only other is the G7 my other son has. But this is higher end for gaming and I wanted the finest. It was on sale and I jumped on it.

Best mouse on the market!
Pros: Surprisingly extremely comfortable, vast amount of features, highly configurable, macro programmable, multi-profiling, rugged design, customizable grip... hands down the best mouse available on the market!
Cons: just writing to fill in space here, just cuz I felt sorry for the lonely conz section.... Its perfect!
Other Thoughts: I have owned all three, MX518, G5 and the G9... by far the G9 is simply the best! Its gonna be extremely hard for competing companies to top this one! I am extremely picky when it comes to my gear, and this thing rocks... period!
Big Kudos to Logitech on this one!
Excellent job boys!

awesome
Pros: great sensitivity and customization options. Perfect if you use the clawgrip, even if you have massive hands like mine.
Cons: price could be a bit lower i think... but oh well, when you need the best you gotta pay for the best.
Other Thoughts: A lot of people seem to like the bigger smooth grip with a bit of weights in the mouse. I personally like the narrower dry grip and I dont have any weights in it because i like a light mouse that glides easily. Without any weights in this mouse its already heavier than my old Razer and my cheap basic usage logitech at the office, so i dunno why ppl would really want it to be much heavier. But again, it's nice that the option is there i guess.

Great mouse
Pros: This is the best mouse I have ever used. I was skeptical at first because of the negative reviews, but after using it I'm not sure how I gamed without it. It's very comfortable, and you have an option as to what it feels like with the two different grips. The profiles are nice and on the fly DPI settings help out a lot if you need to switch your cursor speed. Works perfectly with Vista Ultimate 64 bit. If you're gaming you might want to invest a little into a gaming grade mousepad for laser mice for optimal performance. The weights are also nice, they don't make a huge difference, but the added weight makes it feel a little sturdier.
Cons: Not a con since the cord is awesome, but since it's not a slick rubber cord, it doesn't straighten out completely.
Other Thoughts: The two scroll wheel settings are nice if you need continuous scrolling for whatever reason.

At First Glance
Pros: This mouse is awesome. I did the same thing you are doing...shop around, hate the prices and decide on one im not sure if i will like. I LOVE This mouse. From the interchangable weights to the scroll...the different handgrips, the braided cord. This mouse has everything i was shopping for. The minute i took it out of the package i knew I bought the right mouse.
Cons: The software is easy to use, but i have still yet to figure out how to assign a button to do one thing...like shift. It has a drop down menu so you can select an option, but (so far) I can't figure out how to assign shift or control to a certain button.
Other Thoughts: I've only had this mouse one day, but it is awesome. I'll update once i have had it a while, but first Impression/use is DEFINETLY a five. BUY IT.

On the fly DPI actually useful (for gaming)
Pros: First of all, this thing has gaming written all over it, the feel, the smell, the taste... it all leads to gamer... BUT!
I mostly use this for Gaming, Internet, and Photoshop. I truly don't see why people don't like to use this for every day use as well, I could use this thing in any possible way i would want to! Defidently for the claw grip though, I wouldn't know if it was bad for a palm grip user.
On the fly DPI. People don't see the point in having this feature... and you really don't need it... unless you're that type of gamer/person/what ever!
I use 800 - 1000 DPI for desktop use, and around 2400 - 3200 DPI for gaming usage. The reason for the drastic change is because I turn the mouse sensitivity all the way down in game (That way when i turn the dpi all the way up, when I move my mouse slightly it wont skip any pixels)
Cons: Price, this thing is just too much money
Other Thoughts: Got a deal on it, It was the only way i would've possibly gotten it

The best hands down
Pros: I'll just list them out for you: 1. The cartridge weight system is a genius idea. Everyone has their own 'feel' they prefer. Simple and elegant design on Logitech's part and does the job quite well. 2. While I prefer the smooth grip, it is nice to have a choice and I could definitely see where the rougher grip would have it's advantages. 3. Tracking and control on this mouse is far superior to anything else I've ever used, including a Diamondback. 4. The braided cord offers far less snagging than regular sheathing. 5. The software is designed very well and offers a lot of customization to everything about the mouse. 6. On the fly profile selection with on-board buttons and leds to show your current selections.
Cons: The price is a tad bit much, but it was well worth the money.
Other Thoughts: Buy it. You will not regret it.

Fast shipping
Pros: Highly customizable (weight, grip, sensitivity, etc.) and I got it for $72 plus free shipping. Works fine on most surface. Great for FPS games.
Cons: At $72, it's still relatively expensive for a mouse (used to be $100) & not cordless but that really isn't a con since I hate having to recharge or changing batteries.
Other Thoughts: Newegg shipping is extremely fast. Ordered it on Sunday night got it the Monday night and that was a free shipping. First I paid $89 but then it went on sale so I had a chat with one of Newegg's online reps, Kathy. She said that for this time only, she'll credit the difference back to my credit card. Couldn't be happier with the service. I'll be sure to give NE good reviews on resellerratings.com. I know that the G9x is coming out but just can't wait until August release date. :P

awesome when it works
Pros: Great gaming mouse,I have had it less than 6 months and the scroll wheel is shot.
Cons: I have never had a scroll wheel go out on me,for this amount of money it should have lasted alot longer than this
Other Thoughts: logitech needs to improve the quality before I buy another one.

Great Mouse
Pros: Every aspect customizable 5 changable DPI settings Great on-the-fly DPI switch Two covers included, more available for purchase Solid feel Weight system for perfect feel High quality cable Solid software Very elaborate package
Cons: Mouse wheel click button on the underside of the mouse.
Other Thoughts: I have owned 7+ Logitech mice and this is by far the best gaming mouse from them. The Logitech G5 is the only one that comes close to comfort and performance from them. I got a Razer Lachesis and have had bad wrist problems because of its shape (I have big Hands). Trust me, Stick with Logitech you will NOT regret your purchase.

really great but my right ring finger hurts
Pros: accurate, precise, super slick aesthetics, the micro gear wheel is genious
Cons: my right ring finger hurts after a few days and i have very big hands, so i return it, for me the weights is pointless since i find best without them, the the hard grip is pointless

Update
Pros: OK. Called tech support. They were great. Told me to unplug the mouse, get a Q-Tip and clean the lense. It made me feel kind of stupid.
Cons: They need a Q-Tip guy/gal before it's boxed to clean off the lenseseses or maybe I should have knocked the chunks from my desk before connecting.
Other Thoughts: Tech support was great. The guy was personable and had a sense of humor. Imagine that.

Not Impressed
Pros: Good looking mouse and has shiney weights.
Cons: Trying to walk or aim is too jumpy. I've messed with the settings but the results come out the same. I'm changing back to my cheap mouse.

Best Mouse Out There
Pros: Just bought this mouse about 2 weeks ago and it is by far the best mouse I've ever owned. Adjustable weights (which actually really changes the feel of the mouse quite a bit, and their are a dozen combination of weight adjustments) is a huge plus. One little switch under the mouse makes the scroll wheel click or run smooth. AND you can swap out the outer shell of the mouse with a rubber grip or a plastic smooth grip! Of coarse there is the adjustible dpi settings as well.
Cons: Not a single one.
Other Thoughts: This is THE most customizable mouse out there. Worth every single penny. I was hesitant at 1st because it isn't cheap, but now I couldn't be more happy and don't regret a thing. BUY IT

Amazing
Pros: I ever only owned standard mice, ms's optical 10 dollar mouse, and whatever came with comp, but this is just amazing. I love the weight tuning system, I like it on the heavy side. It glides with even trying, so smooth too. And it's not for little hands either, my hughish hands haven't complained yet.
Cons: none yet.
Other Thoughts: Still gotta lean how to make macros and profile switching, but other than that everything else is amazing.

Mr
Pros: A good gaming-targeted mouse with variable DPI, interchangeable grips, variable weight (very nice), and very customizable software. Glides smoothly. The mouse wheel is an awesome feature.
Cons: This mouse is, unfortunately, highly overrated for serious FPS gamers. Casual gamers will find that it has excellent tracking quality when moving slowly, but its sensor has TERRIBLE fidelity at high speeds. Most serious FPS gamers use low sensitivity settings to increase accuracy, requiring fast mouse movements. At even moderate speeds, the G9 tracking will often fail, causing the crosshair to simply stop or even bounce the opposite direction as the way you're moving! The only solutions are to slow down, increase sensitivity, or increase software acceleration, all of which shouldn't be necessary.
Other Thoughts: Try the MX518, a nearly flawless LED mouse instead of this one. The only downside is that there's no weight tin. The MX518 beats mice twice its price in tracking quality, and I haven't been able to make it fail at any movement speed.

Died in <1 week
Pros: Nice grip, able to change weight.
Cons: Mine died after 4 days of use. buttons still work but cursor doesn't move. Cant RMA b/c I already sent UPC in for mail in rebate ><
Other Thoughts: I HATE rebates! Normally I never do them, but there was one for the G9 and I wanted to give it a shot anyway. Giving 2 stars rather than 1 b/c I WANT TO like this mouse, and I'm sure I'd love it if it were not defective.

Good Mouse not great
Pros: Alot of features, I mean ALOT. Very very smooth movement, feels like a solidly built mouse. I like the color LED corresponding to the profile being used comes in handy, nice swappable covers depending on what is most comfortable for you. The extra buttons come in really handy especially the side scroll middle mouse buttons for games :D mapping them to extra weapons or functions. And with the setpoint software you can really customize it to your liking, everything from polling rate, to color of the LEDs or the intervals of dpi resolution.
Cons: Well, its not as comfortable in the hand as the g5 or mx518 at least to me, the g5/518 were incredibly comfortable i thought. The rubberized cover while cool, started to wear off, the rubber would just start peeling off in spots i got tired of it and just used some acetate to strip the rest of it off, now it isnt ruberized but still cool. I prefer a lil higher in the hand mouse than the squat wide ones and the middle mouse button doesnt feel as good as the g5 or 518.
Other Thoughts: Its a good mouse, maybe even great but 90 dollars good...i dunno i like it and am not going to go back to the g5 but, there are a couple things, and maybe its just my personal preference, that i would have like to seen improved. i think if it were priced at around 50 id say go for it, at 90 id say wait for a sale.

Great gaming mouse
Pros: I've owned a MX518 for a long time and thats a pretty good mouse. Coming from that for gaming the G9 is an excellent upgrade. It glides over surfaces and offers a lot of adjustability to get things just the way you like it. You can program up to 5 dpi settings, add weights, macro keys/actions to buttons...its got everything the gamer needs. This is a great mouse, and depsite the rather high price i recommend it!
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Just a great product.

Pros: The G9 combines the comfort of the G7 with the precision and efficiency of the G5 (for previous Logitech owners). Generally speaking, the G9 (claw grip) has a good resting spot for your thumb and conforms to the hand quite nicely. I have 8 grams in the unit now and it glides without glitching or interruptions. I like how broad it is as compared to the more slim G5, a great gaming mouse in itself, but the G9 girth claims more frags that its predecessors. I love the sensitivity of the right click, assists in gaming (thinking Call of Duty single shot weapons). The color profiles are just as aesthetically pleasing as they are helpful if you use multiple mouse profiles for varying programs/OSes. Altogether this is an excellent mouse and I would recommend it to anyone. If you're already a gamer you won't have any issues adjusting to its odd but superior construction.
Cons: I wish they would have engineered the MicroGear change button into the scroll wheel itself just like they had done on the G7 wireless mouse. Although I prefer the HyperScroll function better, it would still be nice to not have to turn the mouse over to switch it.

works fine
Pros: - Works smoothly - good size and weight - Buttons work fine
Cons: Major complaint: - The "speed" setting keeps resetting to speed 2 (you can change it from 1 to 4; I made 3 my "normal"). Not sure what triggers this yet.
Minor complaints: - The right mouse button clicks a little too easily; just gently resting your finger on the right mouse button will cause it to spuriously click a lot of the time. It might stiffen up over time... - The side buttons do not "click" at all; they work just fine but there is no positive click. You just mush them down and they work - The woven cord cover makes the cord a bit stiff

Best mouse I have ever owned
Pros: I never thought I would be saying this about a mouse, but this thing is AWESOME! I love the Precision grip and the adjustable weights. The weight and the grips make it feel like a very substantial and high quality instrument.
Cons: Price (but I would buy it again)

Wearing out
Pros: High quality mouse, when it works, solid construction. Best laser ive had in a mouse, never skips or jolts like previous optical mice. THUMB REST!
Cons: Bought this last summer, the mesh/wire at the very end of the mouse showing signs of ware, and often disconnects internally having to unplug and replug for it to reset and work again, if moved odly now (not forced) it dies if moved wrong and requires it to be un/replugged. Also the mesh in the middle failed and allowed the cord inside to pop out and expose, having to use black tape to fix. Underside is loosing original shine on its side where there are no pads.
Other Thoughts: I am a graphic artist and serious PC gamer so this mouse was my best choice, and it recieved good reviews from G4TV. A replacement would be nice as I do like this mouse. Hello logitech? Support for possible defective product?

Sweet.
Pros: Previously owned a different high-end mouse named after a snake. This mouse is truly great. Nice, comfortable, fills my hand well. Installed drivers that came with it, but didn't really need to, it was very plug-n-play friendly. Included weights give it a very solid feel. Interchangeable grips are both nice.

Logitech Delivers!!
Pros: -adjustable weights -full color spectrum LED profile indicator -two handrests. (1 additional size is available from logitech with your picture choice.) -onboard memory stores 3 profiles -smooth operation. (High DPI) -smooth feel. (balanced stance on mousepad) -2 user selectable mouse wheel click options. -quality button response.
Cons: Big hands run far far away. unless you do your mousing with your fingertips. This is a precision device designed for precision headshots, and will only laugh at you if you ask it for big palm support :D
Other Thoughts: My favorite mouse. Logitech makes a supplemental hand rest skin that actually provides more support then the two included skins. See the manufacturers websight for details.

Starting to get used to it...
Pros: 2 covers for different feel (at least for me). Lights help indicate my sensitivity for me while in game. Over happy with this mouse! 5 DPI settings. Love how everything is pretty much customizable!
Cons: More bulky feel than my other mouses I have used.

Pros: Ive owned plenty of gaming mice including a few Razer. After my last Razer broke a friend recommended this. I've loved it since. This matches or beats my Razer in all technical categories; high DPI, quick DPI switching, multiple profiles, high programmability, etc. But it easily outdoes its performance.
Right off the bat you notice the buttons. There's tons of them (9 if you include the tilt wheel) all programmable and positioned conveniently for efficiency. Between the buttons and modifier combinations you can bind up to 28 things to this mouse (without L/R) and that makes playing a complex role in WoW's arenas or dealing with grenades and utilities in FPS games a dream. And it's not just about their layout; the buttons are much shallower to click than most mouses, something you don't notice right away but it definitely improves your game.
And of the build quality is top-notch. Strong braided cord; strong and rigid yet light shell and grips; huge teflon feet.
Cons: The middle mouse button, unlike the other buttons, is slightly tougher to click, due to its integrated tilting capabilities. Because of this I personally don't use it much in games, though it's not a problem with all the other buttons available. It does its job fine though in most applications (web surfing, word processing, etc).
Other than that, I can't think of any solid cons for this mouse. It's received more criticism than it deserves, and I think mostly because of people's general impatience at trying something new (claw vs palm for instance; see Other Thoughts). The software, SetPoint is specifically a target of a lot of criticism and the only explanation I have for that is PEBKAC: it's easy to use, thorough, and installed without a problem.
Other Thoughts: If you're used to holding the mouse in a palm style (with your palm resting on the body/but of the mouse), you may not like this mouse. Its layout is optimized for a claw-style (holding the mouse more with the fingers). Lots of gamers (myself included) swear by the claw style since it allows faster muscular response from the fingers, since you're pressing down with direct force from the muscle instead of trying to pressure the button down from the muscle in the knuckle.

Better Control.
Pros: Better "Score"! Very comfortable for gaming use. Great responce from controls. SetPoint program has a lot of features. Make the setting your way and change DPI on the fly.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: What a difference in aiming control. I am not a great gamer, but I hold my own in BF2142. Instantly my scores are up. I also have the MX Revolution and got this for Gaming. Wow!
