Mic quality is excellent (quite often people can hear things in the other room). Video is excellent. ALthough they might not advertise it, it's literally plug and play with my Mac. Very nice manual control over the plastic slider to ensure no one can use your webcam when you don't want them to. Nice white light when it's recording. Compatible with hackintosh. All in all, very happy with the product. Cons: No mac drivers to enable the ability to "follow your face" like it does in windows. The range of movement for windows is pretty limited. Cons: Image is stretched width-wise (compressed horizontally). Email technical support and was told it was hardware limitation (the point of view of this webcam is smaller than that of other webcams - don't know if it's true). Pros: Great quality, Face-tracking, Nice mounting system, Decent software, A webcam that isn't terrible! Cons: Could use auto-focus, struggles a bit in the dark, only the drivers on CD were fully featured (the updated online ones were crippled), the mount is problematic on a CRT monitor. There is also a bit of lag in the video, though this was minimized by toying with the settings. Other Thoughts: The face-tracking system alone makes this an outstanding product. This camera will capture at hd resolutions but the quality isn't that great. Still for a web cam this is more than enough. Cons: Rebate. The software is a processor hog. I Just downloaded the Quickcam driver(through synaptic package manager) and I am using it with Skype 5 minutes later. Solid built machine. Cons: non really... isn't the BEST picture but it is not bad at all. Proper lighting would help the situation I think. Other Thoughts: I am just happy to have this working with Linux. Excellent picture, even in total darkness. Many camera options if you plan on using the bundled software. Has great sound the colors are great and it works well in low light. Cons: Not great for making videos, I made a few videos and posted them on youtube but it has really bad motion blur. I thought it was my computer so I tried it on my dual core and it was still bad looking video. Cons: after we installed this product, we couldn't get our videos to download to the computer from our hd video camera. it seems the computer (os- vista) would recognize the web cam instead of the video camera with the message that "a driver was needed". the webcam seemed to work ok but having the ability to download video was more important so we disconnected the webcam. we could never get the 2 of these features to work together. 1 out of 2 people found this review helpful. Haven't really used it too much. Just wanted to see if basic functionality work in Linux. Cons: I'm not using this camera to it's fullest potential. It works so I don't have any cons. The privacy shield is a nice feature. This camera sits very nicely on my massive CRT monitor. Logitech has great driver support in XP pro. Good price. Cons: Camera is not completely smooth. Cons: Everything was great until I rebooted Windows XP and realized Windows was refusing to load. Had to boot into safe mode and remove the Logitech drivers and software to get windows to boot normally again. The picture quality is nice and is pretty fast. My room has low light and the cam handles it fairly well. This camera's facial detection allows it to follow your face and works well so you don't have to keep adjusting the position of the cam. The mic picks up your voice pretty well even though the cam is a couple of feet away from my face. Cons: Sometimes when I have the cam plugged in the USB my speakers makes this clicking sound. It does have a slide cover that fully covers the lens for when you aren't using it. The framerate is great, the software is great and I've had no issues with the software, (other reviews have) and the 1.3 megapixels is great. Overall logitech did a great job with this product, and the software that came along with it. Cons: The stand. I have yet to find a way that this can stand on my CRT monitor. it will stand find on a flat panel monitor. There really is no way to change the stand. its hard immovable plastic. eventually i'll find something it can stand on. Other Thoughts: The frame rate drops if you are in the dark. It has a Low Light boost, that helps a lot in the dark, but that is what causes the frame rate to drop. So if you have lots of your own light, you can can alter the settings yourself and get a great frame rate for recording videos. Note: I am not sure if the low light affects frame rate for the computer on the receiving end of the video. However, I found it to be totally without any redeeming features whatsoever and returned it for a refund the very next day. Cons: The first thing I noticed was the poorly designed method for attaching this device to a monitor. It employs a semi-flexible polymer coated spine that the user is expected to bend into a shape that grips the top of the monitor. At best, this method barely secures the camera to the monitor. The next problem encountered was with the installation software. The user is presented with drop-down list boxes for selecting the video and sound sources. Since the selection box for sound devices in my installation did not show any Logitech product, I was never able to get any sound from the built-in microphone even after later manually setting the correct source in the camera management software. The video display was especially disappointing. No matter the position of the focus wheel, the image ranged from out-of-focus to fuzzy. The lack of uniform image exposure was also disconcerting. Some portions of the image were dark and some areas were washed out no matter how the room light was adjusted. Soft ware install was easy, however see con...Microphone is exceptionally strong. (You’ll get some feedback if put to close to the speakers) be sure that your speakers are at a good distance apart. Cons: Software needed to be reinstalled twice in order to use Avatars and Filters...first time out not all information is downloaded. Minor feedback from Speakers if put too close together... I sent a video email 15 minutes after hooking it up and the person receiving it said it was very clear and the sound was good, now her neighbor wants one. It adjusts very well to sit on my desktop or my laptop monitor. The screen shade is a big plus for me more to protect the lens than for privacy. Cons: Very minor ones. The cord could be a little more flexible. The camera button to manually take a snap shot is pretty sensitive, I've snapped a pic when I was turning it to face another way.
